Moon is waning this week. Saturn is now direct after months of retrograde motion. Forward momentum returns to our footsteps and helps the energy of the Mars/Saturn conjunction in Libra ease a bit more. New Moon (amavasya) is on Saturday the 26th. I hope you’ll join me for my new Moon celebration and workshop. Join my new Moon online celebration for some new Moon treats and find out more about my new Moon emotional body workshop!
Monday, July 21st Moon moves into Taurus and exalts just after midnight as Monday starts. Moon is exalted in Krittika nakshatra only until 5:58 am CDT and then goes into its mulitrikona placement after that; still a place where the Moon can express itself nicely and feels resilient and open. Moon receives drishti (gaze) from both Mars and Rahu here. This can offer us the ability to work with the emotional body in new and unusual ways since Rahu has newly entered Virgo and he is still in the gap (sandhi) in the 29 degree range. Anger may be a red hot resource for us as well. Don't negate its messages. We may feel our critical edge being tested, a bit grumpy or challenged as a result. We may also be working with themes of abundance, monetary wealth and our stability as a result (or lack thereof). Today may feel a bit hard and soft at the same time. How can this sense of polarity offer us insight into our needs and desires? Krittika nakshatra is ruled by Agni, the sacred fire god of life, transformation and change. We may begin to feel changes and shifts today in our emotional body as a result. How does this emotional shift effect your physical and mental body experiences as well? Tend to your heart fire today- your digestive fires, your life fires. Stoke the flames with small tinder and fan the flames gently, with compassion and gentleness. Moon moves to Rohini nakshatra at 19:21 CDT. Tuesday, July 22nd Today, I celebrate my 34th re-birth. Thank you all for your continued support and for growing and expanding with me and my dharmic work. This is the biggest gift a soul can ask for. You are one of my birthday gifts and I cherish you! Here's to another year of growth, vision, jyoti (light) and creative abundance. Sending my warmth and blessings to each of you! xo Moon continues in Taurus today and is in the auspicious lunar constellation of Rohini nakshatra. Ruled by lord Brahma, who created the entire universe from his navel, this nakshatra exemplifies the human potential- brimming with creativity and fulfillment of material desires. Goddess Saraswati is the consort of Brahma; she is our creative life force connected to music, the arts, knowledge and wisdom. This dynamic of Saraswati and Brahma together allows the sparks of creative potential to be acted upon and then materialized. Use both to capture the full offerings of this day. With Mars and Rahu's drishti still on the Moon, unusual and foreign creativity can be activated and cultivated today with new action steps. Dream big, think big, create big. Plant seeds with artistic actions and water these desires with thoughtful action steps. Dance, sing, paint, create today. Let the universe hear your heart songs and go for the gold. Let the heart swell and swim with the vastness of it. Moon is waning and we are turning our attention/intention inward now naturally. Tend to the inner senses and cultivate presence with your own fragility as we become fully empty. Now is a good time to start self tracking. Use the theme of letting go, releasing and emptiness for your personal inquiry. Join me for my new Moon online celebration where I will be sharing some creative rituals for this new Moon. All who join will be entered to win some new Moon gifts! Moon moves to Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 21:11 CDT. Wednesday, July 23rd Moon transits Mrigashirsha nakshatra and moves into Gemini at 10:15 am CDT joining Venus and Mercury there. Chandra (the Sanskrit name for the Moon) rules Mrigashirsha as well as the deity Soma, which is another name for the Moon personified. The planetary ruler here is Mars who connects to all earth and grounding matters, like soil and homes. It is the plants of the earth that offer us Soma, through their divine nectar, saps and juiciness. It is the Moon that fills the plants with sap. Thus the connections between Mars, Moon and Soma. Mrigashirsha is symbolic of growth, ojas, procreative powers and creative acts that give nourishment. Through foods, creative expression, with movement and change, as well as poignant action steps, seek nourishment today. Invite in Soma, the nectar of life and let the sap of life nourish and support you. Mercury moves into the latter half of Gemini and into Punarvasu nakshatra at 9:24 am CDT, inviting in another layer of nourishment with Aditi, the mother of Oneness and all goodness. She helps us expand, find nourishment through wisdom and acquire knowledge through experience. In the coming days, allow Aditi to nourish your mental body, to invite in awareness through life experiences, and let this wisdom nourish your actions, choices and direction. Moon moves to Ardra nakshatra at 23:24 CDT. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Thursday, July 24th Moon travels through Ardra nakshatra today and enlivens Rudra, the storm god, and the planet Rahu. Rudra is powerful- whether this power is used for change, movement and momentum or emotional upheaval and chaos, the essential element of his nature is destruction. Destruction is a necessary component of change. We must deconstruct before we can reconstruct, or construct anything for that matter. He is a vital part of our change process and helps us with our confrontation process as well. It is in this part of the change process that we usually get angry or have a strong emotional expression. This is when you know that you are onto something big- a big change. The bigger the emotion, the bigger the change. Be sure to use a three level check in today at least once in order to clearly identify the felt senses. Additionally, Jupiter and Sun are in exact degrees today, a very tight combustion (solar burn). The guru, teacher, is getting burned by the source of light, Sun. This can make for a "hot seat" which can be uncomfortable to say the least. Look for agitation and anger and inquire about where these emotions are coming from within you. What is the underlying need? On the other hand, this combination can be highly activating for teaching, sharing wisdom, insights and jyoti (light). Take an action step toward today with your gifts; sharing, offering, giving. Give gratitude to soften the overly activating energy of this combination. Let the emotional body have its way with you today. Moon in Gemini with Mercury and Venus, while Venus is simultaneously in Ardra as well, insures that relationships may be the focus of our emotional upheavals. We also have the opportunity to use creative resources and tools to maximize our awareness and the change factor. Take your emotions into painting, drawing, writing, dancing and sounding. Do not cut and paste over your feelings today or suppress them. They will only come out later down the road in more destructive ways. Use your feelings with intelligence today. Deconstruct, reconstruct, with awareness. Are you joining me for my new Moon celebration online and my new Moon workshop? Friday, July 25th Moon moves to Punarvasu nakshatra at 1:54 am CDT enlivening Aditi and Jupiter and offering us each a taste of expansion; the essence of experiential awareness if we choose to open and extend ourselves to it. The "mother of all goodness" brings with her a sense of universal oneness and our interconnectedness. Notice if there are moments in your day where this offering arrives. Moon moves into the 15th tithi, the final waning Moon phase, at 15:27 CDT, inviting in an empty cup. Are you joining me for my new Moon celebration online and my new Moon workshop? As Moon moves into its own sign of Cancer at 21:56 CDT, the senses shift as does our felt sense. Here, the Moon joins exalted Jupiter and Sun and receives drishti (gaze) from Saturn and Ketu. This combination could bring about mental/emotional exhaustion and a sense of "overdoing it". Be mindful through the weekend of when your emotional body tells you to stop, slow down, change directions, or make a shift somehow. Saturday, July 26th Moon is in its own sign of Cancer with Sun, and exalted Jupiter here as well. All receive drishti (gaze) from Saturn and Ketu. Moon moves into Pushya nakshatra at 4:38 am CDT. Be sure to join me for my new Moon workshop today at 12:00 CDT. Moon crosses over exalted Jupiter and conjoins Sun as it fully empties its light in the 15th and final tithi (Moon phase). New Moon is today in Cancer at 17:41 CDT while in Pushya nakshatra. Sun, Moon and exalted Jupiter are all in Pushya, the nourishing star at this time. This is a profoundly symbolic cosmic expression of what we are moving towards in the coming waxing cycle. The coming weeks offer a theme of finding increased nourishment. Knowing what this is, what it feels like, and how we cultivate its presence within ourselves and our lives is worthy of our attention and intention. Perhaps nourishment arrives with knowledge and wisdom, comforts and support, kindness and gratitude, increased synchronization of Nature and her rhythms. Perhaps it comes with the gentleness of the breath and taking in life more easefully. Take note of what you are opening to and the many ways and means that offer you nourishment and fulfillment in the coming cycle. What are you filling your cup with? What are you inviting into your being, into your life? Let the awareness of vitality and nourishment be your guide. Trust your emotional body to be your compass, your guide. Sunday, July 27th Mars moves into Swati nakshatra at 6:01 am CDT. Rahu and Vayu, the wind god, invite in a sense of urgency, movement and momentum. Don't get lost in the forced agenda of this combination. Mars is still conjunct exalted Saturn and it's important to head to his messages and desires for slow and steady action. Mars and Vayu have needs of swiftness and quickness. This can intensify frustrations, agitations and anger and cause us to act in imbalanced ways. If you notice yourself rushing, forcing, pushing for results, consider this your warning. It's a waste of your energy and will cause greater issues in the long run. Take action, but let Saturn lead the way with stability, focus, sustainability, timeliness and deep surrender. Moon moves into Ashlesha nakshatra at 7:32 am CDT, enlivening Sarpa and Mercury. Serpent energy slides into our lives today and is evoked through Nature. How can Sarpa offer some awakening and evoke our inner treasures? The serpent energy invites in transformation, awakening and change. The dark side of Sarpa is illusions and deceptions, very Rahu like shadows. We have some options though in how we use our serpent energy, and what we are evoking, invoking and inviting in. How do you want to use your serpent energy today? Mercury moves to the edge of its own sign Gemini and is poised for change, pushing into Cancer tomorrow, where it will join exalted Jupiter and Sun there. As Mercury moves to the edge of Gemini, the portal opens, inviting in a rare opportunity to unite mental body and emotional body. Be sure to take time to harvest this potential and listen carefully. What can be accomplished when mind and emotions unite and find a sense of harmony? Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Here we are, after the storm so to speak. Such immense shifts this past week/end. Moon is waning and losing its nectar, its light, drop by drop. The light is lessening now, as we move towards amavasya (emptiness).
Join me on FaceBook during the new Moon for my July New Moon Online Celebration. I'll be offering a special creative ritual, some gifts and incentives for all who enter and so much more. Join me here. Monday, July 14th Moon transits Dhanishta nakshatra and moves into Aquarius at 12:09 pm CDT and is out of the gaze of the other planets. Dhanishta is ruled by the Vasu Devas. These gods bring us shining and prosperity and are connected to jyoti, light. They help us manifest on the material plane of existence. Aum namo bhagavate, vasudevaya calls in this frequency. Rahu and Ketu are in early degrees, still in the sandhi gap, having newly entered Virgo and Pisces. Mars is very young in degrees, having just entered Libra, joining a retrograde Saturn there. Venus gains strength in degrees now in Gemini. Sun moves into sandhi this evening as it prepares to move into Cancer. Multiple planets are doing swift, changeable dances right now. Each of us is likely feeling a mixture of uncertainty and possibility, which offers a sense of excitement. Be sure to take time for the silence and stillness- especially with these planets in sandhi right now. This is sacred ground, where ideas manifest from the Absolute. Go too fast and you'll miss the sacred messages possible right now. There will be plenty of time to take action, but for now basque in the softness and gentle nothingness that is available to us. Gently plant your seeds of desire. Read more about sandhi planets and their impact. Moon moves to Satabisha nakshatra at 22:50 CDT. Tuesday, July 15th Moon transits Satabisha nakshatra ruled by Varuna and Rahu. Varuna guards Natural Law and can heighten our critic as he's known for his judgement. Taking care of health and doing what we know to do, what is best practice and in alignment with universal wisdom, is especially important on Satabisha days. If you find your self in tango with your critic, this is a perfect time to hit the pause button and do a check in. First of all, notice where in the body this critic is working his charm. Do you feel tightness in the chest, shortness of breath or even a headache? The body has wisdom to share with you, so listen up. Start with a three level check in and bring focus to the mental, emotional and physical bodies. Then ask each body for answers: what do I need right now? Find solutions for what plagues with a gentle approach, not forced. The critic often arrives as a form of "protection". What are you seeking protection from? Moon moves to PurvaBhadrapada at 20:30 CDT which invites in a sense of being in two worlds and working with impossible feats. Tonight, take a walk and listen to your feet. Wednesday, July 16th Moon transits PurvaBhadrapada and Ajaikapada is enlivened as well as the planet Jupiter. This lunar constellation refers to a form of Shiva standing on one leg, known as Nataraja, lord of the dance, which essentially refers to this "dance of life" we are all in. What an impossible dance this is! A balancing act, a grounding at times, and a moving and lifting our feet into the unknown at other times- each step uncertain and yet full of potential. What are you stepping towards? What are you stepping away from? What does the path look like as it unfolds in front of you? Listen to your feet for wisdom. Take intentional steps today. Sun moves to Cancer, joining exalted Jupiter there, at 10:58 am CDT. Get ready for passionate, heart expansion in the coming weeks. Sun is in Cancer until 8.17, so enjoy this time of deepening compassion- for self and others. Who and what is teaching you, helping you unfold and develop your heart? Tend to these needs in the coming weeks and rise to the occasion. Rise into service and lead with your heart. Teach, guide and share with fullness, but let your heart wisdom guide you. This is a perfect time to let the emotional body set the pace and choose the direction. Have you joined my FB event yet for the new Moon? I'll be helping you explore the emotional body with creative rituals during the silent part of the month. Moon moves to Pisces at 13:05 CDT joining Ketu there and receiving drishti from Rahu in Virgo, seven houses away. Exalted Jupiter gives his drishti/gaze from Cancer nine houses away. Let sudden expansion and bursts of insight lead you. Moon moves to UttaraBhadrapada at 18:41 CDT, enlivening Ahirbudhnya and Saturn for the rest of the day/night. This serpent of the nether worlds invites us to dive beneath the surface and explore the depth of our existence. Illusions are in our midst and magic is among us. What secrets are you exploring and what are you hiding from? There is power in the subconscious mind which offers many gifts of awareness. Are you listening? Get ready for some veils to lift; it may be quite swift. Thursday, July 17th The majority of the day has us working with Ahirbudhnya and Saturn energies. He enlivens the nether realms with his serpent energy. Her provokes us to tap into our subconscious mind and awakens the dormant Kundalini energy at the base of the spine. Secret, hidden knowledge is all part of his domain. Illusions are in our midst and magic is among us. What secrets are you exploring and what are you hiding from? There is power in the subconscious mind which offers many gifts of awareness. Are you listening? Get ready for some veils to lift; it may be quite swift. Moon moves from UttaraBhadrapada into Revati at 17:30 CDT. Pushan comes to our aid and Mercury is enlivened. The final nakshatra in the zodiac, Revati symbolizes the path, the journey, and protection for this adventure. Pushan offers us nourishment, support and guidance for the path as well as helping us to find our own hidden treasures. As Moon joins Ketu here in Revati, expect sudden shifts and changes for your path. It may just be mentally, but shifts and changes there will be! Invite them in and trust there is nourishment with this newness. Emotional outbursts are likely. What are your needs and how can you get them met in nourishing and supportive ways? Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Friday, July 18th Moon nears Ketu and mental/emotional firecrackers flare. What does your fire dance look like and feel like? Is there a tussle between these two bodies- mental body and emotional body? What is the mind dictating that contradicts with the emotional body? It will be easy right now (too easy) to let the mental body force its agenda on us, which may ignite the emotions and push us towards confusion, anger, or agitation. Hit the internal pause button and do ample check-ins today. What does your mental body need? What does your emotional body need? By 16:30 CDT Moon and Ketu are in exact degrees and the pressure is on. Sparks are flying and helping you expand, open and explore new territory; the new territory of Ketu in Pisces and Rahu in Virgo. Need a reminder of the themes being enlivened at this time? Read more here. For some, there will be some very rich sparks of insight today. Bring a notebook with you and take notes. Pushan is offering guidance for the journey, but don't blame the messenger. Moon makes the tricky leap from Pisces into Aries at 17:00 CDT. The Ashvini-kumara and Ketu are enlivened and the themes of past 24hrs get some further sparks and ignition. Mars and Saturn give direct gaze from Libra, and offer a "lurching" energy with stops and starts. This may invigorate the yes and no dynamic within us, which can lead to confusion and unrest. Are we ready or aren't we? The Ashvini twins offer healing through rejuvenation and rasayanas. There are magical abilities and strength with these healing gifts. Music and the arts are tools that they use as well as Ayurvedic remedies and treatments. The healing arts are in potent form with Ashwini. Tonight, synch up with Saturn's slowness and allow him to slow you down, stop even. Where can you hit the breaks and surrender to the pace of what is? Silence, softness and massage might be in order. As he deepens his retrograde motion before going direct on the 20th, his intensity can amplify. Let him win right now and avoid the frustrations of working against him simply by surrendering to his ways. Venus moves into Ardra nakshatra at 23:18. Relationship matters, creativity, passion, communication intensify and get the strength of Rudra and Rahu through the end of the month. What way will Rudra's strength take you. We may start out rocky or strong. We may end up a bit scarred and tattered, worn and softened. We will definitely learn a finer art of harnessing the passions within us. Don't get windswept, use the winds as a tool. Have you signed up for my new Moon workshop yet? Saturday, July 19th Yesterday's suggestions prevail until 17:11 CDT when Moon moves into Bharani nakshatra. Venus and Yama are enlivened and offer us a sense of restraint, holding back and deliberation. What needs harsh change of direction today? Yama may offer the confrontation we need to address a certain obstacle or blockage on the path. Confrontation brings awareness; then shift and change can enter. This is a poignant and powerful place to arrive. What are you confronting head on today? In your relationships especially. This includes your relationship with your self, and with others. Don't hold back, go into it, directly. Work with what is, what arrives and invite in the investigation. Mars and Saturn give direct gaze on the Moon from their positions in Libra, and offer a "lurching" energy with ample stops and starts. This may invigorate the yes and no dynamic within us; even binary thinking patterns, which can lead to confusion and unrest. Are we ready or aren't we? Are we letting go or clinging? Inviting in the new awareness or pushing it away? With frustration, anger often arrives as well. What are the deeper messages of this frustration and anger? Ask the anger for answers. As Sun moves into Pushya nakshatra tonight at 22:49 CDT, we may get the softening just in time for the answers to arrive. Sunday, July 20th Bharani stays with us throughout the day. Saturn goes direct after months of retrograde motion at 15:02 CDT. This is a remarkable moment when the wheels of time screech to a halt and suddenly begin chugging forward once again. The intensity of the past days and weeks begin to ease as Saturn directs our momentum forward once again. As a retrograde planet goes into its direct motion, it becomes much more intense. We will likely be feeling this lurch forward in relationships and Libra matters for those of us paying attention. Be gentle with your Self and others- and rejoice! Saturn is no longer debilitated and is once again exalted in Libra. We may now begin to feel the blessings of this position- finally! The themes from Saturday prevail until 17:59 CDT when Moon moves to Krittika nakshatra. Agni, the fire of life, is enlivened as well as the Sun. Cut, clear, purge, transform. Now is the time to step into what you want, and step away from what you don't. Likely Saturn's direct motion now will help us find this clarity. Digest, assimilate, seek nourishment and let Agni help you transform what you have been eating in your life (all of it), into useful energy and resources. Be exact. Be focused. Be alert. Be ready to make changes and allow in the transformations. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Never miss my Moon Mind Calendar. Sign up for my newsletter. And if you like this post, please share it! Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Moon is waning until Thursday. New Moon is on Friday in the early morning hours- in Gemini and Ardra nakshatra.
Monday, June 23rd Moon transits Aries and moves from Bharani to Krittika nakshatra at 12:30 CDT, enlivening the Sun and Agni- the fire of life. Internal and external flames intensify, heat and passion, anger and aggression are fanned. These energies are heightened as a result of Mars's direct gaze 8 houses away. With Sun now in Ardra nakshatra in close proximity to retrograde Mercury, the mind is likely to have an edge to it. Have you noticed? Or are you blaming it on everyone else? Is the past haunting you? Moon will be sandhi the majority of the afternoon, moving to the edge of Aries. It jumps into Taurus at 18:48 CDT, assuming its position and degrees of exaltation. A rare example of how sandhi degrees (when a planet is in the gap between signs) can actually be a strong placement. Read more about sandhi in my recent article: Living in Limbo. Moon joins Venus in Taurus, who is nicely placed in its own sign right now. Moon is friendly to everyone, however, Venus isn't fond of the Moon. These two, however, are out of the gaze of the other planets right now so this will allow them to share and shine. Look for some strong waves of creativity, inner flow and fluidity, movement and grace. Dance, sing, make art. Let your creative acts stoke your inner flames tonight. Watch how you relate to others and don't lash out. Instead, use your emotions to deepen your inner relationship. Tuesday, June 24th Moon is exalted and in Krittika nakshatra enlivening the Sun and Agni. Heat and fire rule the first half of the day. Work with themes of cutting, clearing, purification and transformation. Just after midday, Moon moves into Rohini nakshatra at 13:48 CDT, having crossed over Venus by this point. In this position, Moon moves from exaltation into mulitrikona, but is still a strong placement for it, out of the gaze of other planets. Our creativity is intensified. Are ideas percolating and gathering steam? Keep a piece of paper and a pen near by and have your journal handy for doodles, sketches and list making. Take your sketches into dancing, let your dancing become paintings. Move, flow, and let the creativity move you and be moved by you. Sing, communicate, share, connect. Wednesday, June 25th The first half of the day, Moon continues through Rohini nakshatra. The creative suggestions from yesterday still apply. Keep a piece of paper and a pen near by and have your journal handy for doodles, sketches and list making. Take your sketches into dancing, let your dancing become paintings. Move, flow, and let the creativity move you and be moved by you. Sing, communicate, share, connect. As Moon moves into Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 15:28 CDT, instant change occurs. The pace of the deer and its swiftness carries us into action, movement and momentum. Can you feel the shift take place within you? Think in terms of action steps. Soma and Mars are enlivened with this nakshatra, life giving qualities surface and offer their sustenance. What life giving nourishment can you move towards? Pay attention for the messages maybe strong or they may be subtle. Thursday, June 26th Moon crosses into Gemini in the early hours of the morning at 04:26 am CDT, though still in Mrigashirsha nakshatra. It joins retrograde Mercury in this nakshatra and Sun in Ardra nakshatra. These three planets receive gaze from Rahu nine houses away, intensifying the mental/emotional edge and our shadow issues. Moon crosses directly over Mercury around 7:30 am CDT which will likely intensify the mental body tussle with the emotions. Make your daily to-do list over breakfast and if you can start your day with a more gentle approach, do it. Try meditation, gentle yoga, a quiet walk outdoors. This is a good day to count to ten before speaking and to get plenty of fresh air and physical movement. Get out of the head and into the body! Ready to take action? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop today where we explore Mars and action steps. Venus moves into Rohini nakshatra at 17:08 CDT. Expect creativity to be flowing in the coming weeks! Get out your paints, dance, draw, sing, write. Share your work with others. Be nourished by your creativity and let others nourish you with theirs. This placement of Venus may help our sense of security and thriving. Let the abundance flow towards you and through you. Moon moves to Ardra nakshatra at 17:29 CDT as it nears the Sun. Emotions intensify with Rudra and Rahu heightened here, so watch yourself and don't let the mind get away with its usual shenanigans. Inner tracking will be important to avoid overwhelm. At this time, Moon is already well into the 15th tithi, the final phase of its waning cycle. Do a three level check in for greater awareness. Friday, June 27th Moon transits Gemini with retrograde Mercury and Sun. All receive drishti from a very sandhi Rahu. New Moon is at 3:08 am CDT while in Gemini and Ardra nakshatra. Ruled by Rudra and Rahu, Ardra nakshatra brings with it a certain intensity- whether through the emotions or through physical movement and change; think forcefulness. Rudra is connected to storms, storm energy, as well as prana as he is the father of the Maruts, or inner winds. Externally he manifests as a storm god; internally he manifests as the five types of Prana within the body. Harnessing the winds can be powerful for inner change or outer change. His association with anger and intense emotion is an example of his abilities with power. Anger after all is extremely powerful and is a form of passion and strength. How will you use this strength? This New Moon is not the silent, soft and quiet kind. For there is immense power available to us at this time. It is quiet and inward as any empty new Moon is, yet be mindful of the power available within this silence. What are you creating? Cultivating? And inviting in at this time? What is your relationship to the inner and outer winds? Start your day off with meditation, pranayama and yoga. Get the inner prana moving and in this new waxing cycle upon us, attend to the needs of the inner winds. Emotional well being is intimately related to physical well being. Use this coming cycle to attend to your inner dynamics. Work with emotions directly and note where the challenges arrive. Are you attending to your needs? Letting the mind run the show? Bypassing the emotions? Does the body have a message for you that you have been neglecting to listen to? Listen closely for clues and your inner wisdom. Do a three level check in for greater awareness. Moon moves to Punarvasu nakshatra at 19:49 CDT, enlivening Jupiter and Aditi energy. Saturday, June 28th Mars moves from Hasta nakshatra into Chitra nakshatra at 6:36 am CDT. Mars and Rahu are nearing each other as we prepare for their exact conjunction in the coming weeks. This is a very intense and charged time so be mindful of these energetics in general with regard to your Self, life and relationships. Mars will be in Chitra for roughly a month (through the end of July). This nakshatra is ruled by Mars (heat, passion, aggression, action) and the deity Vishvakarma. He is the "cosmic architect" who loves to create, build, plan and orchestrate. The action oriented association to the planet Mars (both within the nakshatra and by Mars's transit through Chitra) insures that foundations will be laid, steps will be taken and changes will be amplified. Par for the course as we look at the grande planetary shifts happening right now and in the coming weeks! Change is here! Moon transits Gemini with retrograde Mercury, and Sun and is in Punarvasu nakshatra. Aditi, mother of all goodness and unity is enlivened as well as the planet Jupiter. Perhaps you can feel the expansion and a greater smoothness enter your mind as a result of the Moon's shift. As it nears the gap midday, the softness heightens and offers an opening to us. What is coming through the portal for you? Jupiter is a sign away, exalted in Cancer, and can offer some awareness. Are you inviting it in yet? Are you in Houston? Join me at Bayou Bliss Yoga for my Jupiter workshop. Need a virtual workshop instead? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop online tomorrow instead. Moon moves into Cancer, its own sign, joining exalted Jupiter there at 15:45 CDT. Both receive drishti from retrograde Saturn in this position. Jupiter has gained strength at this point and is now over the two degree mark which helps our sense of stability, expansion and wisdom. Jupiter and Moon basque in each others radiance as Moon crosses over him. They both offer a gentle awareness to us through heart, emotions, and expanded wisdom. Let it flow. Look for sweet balms of the heart and emotions today. What soothes, nurtures and flows toward you? Feeling restricted and collapsed? This can be from Saturn's gaze. Be easy with the opening. You don't have to force it. Just be willing to invite in, expand and grow. Moon moves into Pushya nakshatra at 22:26 CDT. Sunday, June 29th Moon transits its own sign of Cancer and Pushya nakshatra with exalted Jupiter. Both receive drishti from retrograde Saturn in this position. Jupiter has gained strength at this point and is over the two degree mark which helps our sense of stability, expansion and wisdom. Pushya provides nourishment from Brihaspati (a personified Jupiter) and the planet Saturn. The symbol is the udder of a cow, who offers nourishment to her calf. This is the nourishment palpable with Pushya nakshatra. What is flowing towards you? Away from you? What are you inviting in? Where is the flow being obstructed? Our nourishment and sense of nourishment is directly connected to how able we are to receive. This is a vulnerable position, unlike the position of giving, which is the power position. Today, think in terms of balancing both the give and receive and notice how vital they are to each other. They are truly interrelated functions required for getting our needs met from life, relationships and our environment. Using the metaphor of inhale and exhale, the dance of the life force can be a potent tool of awareness. Use my Jupiter expand/contract workshop for more insights. Ready to take action? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop today where we explore Mars and action steps. Was this post helpful to you? Please share it! Have you signed up for my newsletter yet? Weekly, I send out vital jyotish resources that enliven creativity, consciousness and embodiment. Please sign up! Moon is waning this week and transits Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and into Aries. Multiple changes occur on 6.15. Find the planetary details in my transit report.
Monday, June 16 Moon transits Capricorn and Sravana nakshatra. Vishnu and his expansiveness as well as the Moon rule over the day. Movement is a key theme for today's experience as Vishnu is said to have traversed the three realms of earth, sky and heaven in three steps. Look for threes today. Use the metaphor of three steps as a key for your actions. Work with the "emergence of the third" and metaphors that include bridging the unknown with the known. What can we bring forth from our depths in order to arrive at a new destination? Vishnu is about expansion, so let your dreams take you to a fuller experience, a more expansive state of mind. Take care of mind/body and spirit today. Saturn energy may slow down the arrival at our desired destination, so work with frustrations consciously. At 16:39 CDT, Moon moves into Dhanishta and we can take the awareness of Sravana into action and implementation. Nourish and be nourished. Create and share your creativity. Let the Vasu Devas help you shine. Mercury has moved back into Mrigashirsha nakshatra in his retrograde dance. He is transiting Gemini with Sun who just entered Gemini and Jupiter who is on his way out. He's feeling the movement, the change, the uncertainty of the other planets and reflecting this to us in our mental body. Frustrations and emotional upheavals are coming from this abundance of movement and change right now. It's palpable. Work with the instability in conscious ways- through dance and creative movement. Find your own metaphors as you move. Use grounding and stabilizing activities as a resource to bring more comfort, calm and support. Find more about this transit in my Transit Report. Tuesday, June 17th Moon moves to Aquarius at 03:35 am CDT and receives drishti (gaze) from Rahu and Jupiter in this position. Moon transits Dhanishta nakshatra. Mars and the Vasu Devas rule the day. The Vasu Devas help us shine and be seen through our gifts. They are sources of illumination and prosperity; literally the light or jyoti. Dhanishta people like to share information and like to be heard- especially through music and creativity. Create, share, take action. Find new ways to get your message out there; get innovative. Moon moves into Satabisha at 14:37 CDT. Rahu and Varuna are enlivened as a result. Guard your health today and take preventative measures for creating wellness. Eat well and nourish your self with good food, proper routine and self care tools. Avoid excess sugar, caffeine, alcohol and intoxicants. Be mindful that on Satabisha days, we may turn excessively critical. This gaze may turn inward or outward- or both. It is a great time to consciously work with our critics and deepen our relationship with them. Why is our critic "helpful" and when does it show up for us? Self tracking is essential in order to find the deeper meaning within our judgement. Wednesday, June 18th Moon transits Aquarius and Satabisha nakshatra until 13:00 CDT receiving drishti (gaze) from Rahu and Jupiter. Many of the suggestions from yesterday apply. Self tracking is essential in order to find the deeper meaning within our judgement. At 13:00 CDT Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra ruled by Ajaikapada and Jupiter. With the momentous transits happening, we may feel as though we are in a balancing act as the deity Ajaikapada reminds us (another name for Shiva). Lord Shiva expresses in his dance, one foot firmly rooted, the other lifted and in balance; we can feel this sense of limbo today as the transits intensify. So much is in transition right now, hanging in balance, neither here nor there. Can you feel it? Purvabhadrapada signifies endings, letting go, the funeral cot that symbolizes death and transition. This is where we are right now. At the edge. Letting go. It is a big day of transits and changes. Venus moves to its own sign of Taurus on 06.18 at 07:08 am CDT away from Mars’s drishti and the conjunction of Ketu. This may be the stabilizing force that allows us to make more lasting and life-supporting changes for ourselves during the next month. Just as Venus moves into Taurus, Jupiter makes his momentous change into Gemini later that day at 20:24 CDT. I’ve written extensively on this transit. For greater insights on this 13 month transit visit my Exalted Jupiter articles part one and two. For more details on both of the Venus and Jupiter transits please check my transit report. Thursday, June 19th Moon moves to Pisces at 06:07 am CDT and transits PurvaBhadrapada nakshatra, receiving drishti (gaze) from Mars. The morning starts with influences from Ajaikapada and Jupiter. Jupiter arrives into Cancer officially and Venus settles into its own sign of Taurus as well. Moon receives drishti (gaze) from Jupiter in this position. Look for glimpses of gentleness today and invite in a softer approach to life and relationships. Moon moves into UttaraBhadrapada at 11:53 am CDT which energizes Saturn and Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the depths. This is naga serpent energy though- the kind that brings insights and awareness with excavation below the surface. Dive deep today and explore possibility and purpose. Seek out stability. Sun and retrograde Mercury collide in Gemini causing a heated mind. Issues coming back to haunt you? Noticing old patterns resurfacing? Retrograde Mercury is working his magic on us. Go for precision and exactness, avoid anger and hostility. This combustion receives drishti from Rahu which can heighten the intensity and cloud our awareness. Feeling the heat? Calm down and count to ten before you communicate. Better yet, wait 24 hrs or go meditate before you come to your conclusions. Friday, June 20th Moon moves to Revati at 11:17 am CDT which energizes Mercury and Pushan. Pushan guides us and protects us on our journey, offering us support and nourishment. Look for support, self care, guidance and help today. Ask if you need some extra support or help. Guidance and support is all around us. Often, we just need to be open and receptive to receive it. Moon is being gazed at directly by Mars. Simultaneously Sun and retrograde Mercury are still in close degrees- yesterday’s suggestions still hold true. Issues coming back to haunt you? Noticing old patterns resurfacing? Retrograde Mercury is working his magic on us. The mind is heated and fiery. Great for precision and meticulous thought processes, but anger and hostility can easily surface. This combustion receives drishti from Rahu which can heighten the intensity and cloud our awareness. Feeling the heat? Calm down and count to ten before you communicate. Better yet, wait 24 hrs or go meditate before you come to your conclusions. Saturday, June 21st Solstice occurs on 6.21 at 05:54 am CDT. It is officially summer for the Northern Hemisphere. Moon crosses the tricky junction point between Pisces and Aries at 11:13 am CDT. The morning may be best spent slowly and silently as Moon transitions from water into fire. As Moon enters Aries, it moves into Ashwini nakshatra, nearing Ketu. It also gets drishti from Mars here. As the day takes shape, the fire in us enlivens and Moon collides with Ketu. Use this heat and passion for activation and action steps. Some of us may get instant messages and sudden brilliant ideas! Address anger and agitations head on. Not by forcing your agendas and objectives on others, but by looking within and noticing where the emotion is arising from. How does anger serve you, or how has it served you in your life? It wouldn’t be there unless you relied on it for some reason. Find ways to use it as a resource, a tool of passion and greater inner awareness. Don’t suppress it or lash out at others. Let it to inform your process. Use the day resourcefully. Use healing modalities, purification practices, rasayanas and rejuvenation treatments for getting your needs met. Create, sing, open your artistic channels. Just before midnight, Sun moves into Ardra nakshatra, heightening our connection to Rudra and Rahu until 7.05. Emotional upheaval, intense movement and change, calamities and uncertainties may be increased. Some worldly success may be provided for some in the coming weeks, but watch for excessive cravings simultaneously. This will be an excellent time to navigate our emotional body with very deliberate awareness as we will likely be feeling some passing clouds and stormy weather. Sunday, June 22nd Moon transits Aries and moves into Bharani nakshatra at 11:38 am CDT, enlivening Venus and yama. Transformation, death, release and letting go surface today. The day and its desire may require us to use restraint. Keep it simple. This is an excellent time to cut out attachments. This may be in relationships or simply with house cleaning- or both. We can clean and purge from the inside out. What are you willing to let go and release? What do you no longer need? What needs to be cut loose? What can be restructured in your life so that you have more space for what truly nourishes you? We may also get great clarity today about what we truly need to move forward in our lives. Use this day effectively and invite in transformation. Is this helpful to you? Please share it with at least one friend. Thank you! Plan your week with the planets, sign up for my newsletter. Moon is Full on Thursday and begins its waning cycle for the remainder of the week. Moon passes through Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and into Capricorn this week. Mercury is retrograde as well as Saturn. Be mindful of your inner and outer communication. Put new systems in place for better overall communication- with others, with your life, with your self.
Monday, June 9th Moon transits Swati nakshatra in Libra today, sandwiched between a sandhi Rahu and a retrograde, weak, Saturn. Vayu enlivens movement today. Change, movement and strong currents are invited in as a result. With the storm energy (Rudra) in Libra, the Moon may trigger strong weather, and sudden rain storms (Venus/Ketu aspect). Carry an umbrella. These storms may be internal, so expect these sudden storm clouds to arrive with thunder and lightening. They will likely pass as quickly as they arrive. Note how and when the clouds emerge as the mental body will likely stir the inner pot. With Mercury retrograde right now, it look for connections to an issue or event from the past that triggers the feelings within you. The mental and emotional bodies may brood today. Get embodied. Find movement as a resource and attend to Vayu, the wind god, and your inner winds with breath work, pranayama, yoga and body work. Use my Saturn and Pelvis MP3 workshop recording for nurturing the themes of self support and self reliance today. Tuesday, June 10th Moon continues to pass through Libra, nearing Saturn today, and moves into Vishaka nakshatra at 06:47 am CDT. Indragni and Jupiter rule the day. As Moon nears exact conjunction with Saturn (at 13:29 CDT) expect emotional intensity, a swelling of heart matters and a need for digesting and assimilating- especially in regard to relationship matters. Yesterday's stormy weather prediction resurfaces today. Bring an umbrella and tend to your emotional storms. Today, seek comfort and nourishment, support and assistance, rather than isolation and loneliness. Find ways to get your needs met with self care, self expression, and extra comforts. Use creative resources to get you out of your emotional ruts. Remember that digging up the soil is necessary before you can plant the seeds. Use my Saturn and Pelvis MP3 workshop recording for nurturing the themes of self support and self reliance today. Wednesday, June 11th Moon moves into Scorpio just after midnight at 00:12 am CDT and moves into Anuradha nakshatra at 05:55 am CDT. As Moon moves into its sign of debilitation, the brooding from the previous days takes a heightened turn towards the inner realms. This is a necessary phase in the emotional transformation process, but diligence is required so we don't get stuck in the mire for too long. Use your turmoil for cultivating more awareness and introspection and don't get lost in details- that's where the overwhelm resides. Intuition will be heightened right now, so pay attention to your first responses and instincts. Listen carefully. The intense energy of the previous days begins to break up today, a good sign that movement is occurring. Use this as momentum for personal change. Connect with a special friend for extra support and nourishment. Thursday, June 12th Moon transits Scorpio, its sign of debilitation, and moves into its final tithi (Moon phase) of its waxing cycle in the wee hours of the morning. As Moon moves into Jyeshtha nakshatra at 04:23, Indra and Mercury are enlivened for our day and our full Moon. With Mercury retrograde, the theme of re-tracing past steps and experiences is activated, so expect a sense of Deja Vu today. There are awakenings tangible so keep your eyes open and your mind open to possibility as well. Indra brings with him a certain power and need for control. Extreme sensitivity is likely today and the senses may be overwhelmed easily as a result. Take precautions and find ways to self soothe and self care so that you don't get overwhelmed. Full Moon is today at 23:10 CDT. This full Moon brings with it a power and intensity that can provoke inner change. Capitalize on this and bring intention to what you are ushering in. What strength and power are you inviting in during the next cycle? As the Moon slowly empties, how can your bring this sense of bravery, courage and strength with you? How can this super sensitivity be a powerful tool for you in the coming weeks? Have you made your full Moon mandala yet? Here are some ideas. More on the full Moon and the upcoming waning Moon cycle in my Transit Report. Friday, June 13th Moon moves to Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra today at 02:22 am CDT as the Moon enters the first tithi (Moon phase) of the waning cycle. Uproot and unravel today. Dig up the dirt and churn your internal waters. Today is a day of disruption and attuning to the Laws of Nature. Expect some chaos and calamity as part of the parcel. Prepare for sudden changes and toxic people as well as explosive situations. Some duress is possible. The savior today is creativity and creation. Get into your process and let it consume you. The mental body will be pulling you out of center and pushing you into old storm clouds. The easiest way to step out of the landmines will be to get embodied. Get out of the mind and into the body. Late in the evening turn your heart and sorrows towards devotion. Remember your gratitude. Saturday, June 14th Moon moves to Purvashada nakshatra moments after the stroke of midnight. Apas, the water goddess and Venus are enlivened today. Cut, clear, restructure, reorganize, renegotiate your relationship contracts. They have all been in flux lately. Today, let some nourishment and depth cleanse, purify and nourish your felt senses. We are all cutting out those pieces and people that don't serve as supportive and reliable. Today may offer another level of awareness with this process. Right now, we get to practice really healthy and necessary boundaries, so if there are agitations, remind your self of what needs to shift. What is in your control? What can you say no to? What additional self care tools can you offer your self- even in the toughest moments? Make sure you create time for ritual, for sweating and moving the body and for tears today. Moon moves to Uttarashada nakshatra at 21:30 CDT. Expect some new perspective on your day and a "do good" mentality to take over. Sunday, June 15th Sun moves to Gemini just after midnight and joins a retrograde Mercury and sandhi (in the gap) Jupiter here. These three planets receive gaze (drishti) from Rahu. Wisdom and mental acuity sharpen in this coming Sun cycle. Get your ducks in a row and make high level plans. Avoid self doubt and self sabotage. Instead, step into your power and rise to the tasks at hand. Use the next four weeks of Sun in Gemini to tackle mental, creative and monetary goals with power and pizazz. No slacking, but don't overwhelm yourself with too many irons in the fire. Best practice is being very calculated and concrete about your to-do list. Check things off one by one. Moon transits Uttarashada nakshatra today and moves into Capricorn at 02:51 am CDT. Vishvadeva and Sun rule today. The Vishvadevas or "all gods" are essentially the Laws of Nature, or universal principles. They remind us of ethics, respect and other people's needs, as well as the crucial parts of life like joy, time, leadership and our connection to lineage and the ancestors. Stick to dharma today and be ethical in your actions. Attract what you want in life by being. Take the necessary action steps to call in what you want. Follow your dreams. Follow your visions.
