The August Full Moon is in the early hours of the 18th at 03:27 while moving through Aquarius and Dhanishta nakshatra. An almost lunar eclipse occurs at 03:42, sparking an unusual eclipse portal that will last until the end of September. Sun, Earth, and Moon will be very closely aligned on this day, but there will technically be no lunar eclipse. There are several different ways to calculate eclipses, so some sources are listing this event as a penumbral lunar eclipse, however it is not considered an actual eclipse. {Weekend} Moon Mind :::
12. 5 Moon transits Capricorn (with sandhi Venus there as well) and is in Sravana nakshatra as well as the 5th tithi of Panchami. Ruled by Vishnu, the day offers expansion and insight, but may do so with contraction at first. Where is your gratitude? Have you offered thanks for the many gifts that have come to you recently? With Mars in Virgo currently, it is easy to fall into scrutiny and bitterness. The best way to clean and clear the heart is to remember to give thanks for what is abundant and alive in our lives. Take a few minutes to stop and count your blessings. 12. 6 Moon continues its transit through Capricorn with a sandhi Venus there as well. Moon moves to Dhanishta nakshatra at 05:22 CST while in the 6th tithi of Shashti. Honor your relations today and give thanks and praises to those who are uplifting you. Are you uplifting others? Avoid fault finding and making others wrong. Instead, put your shine on and trust that like attracts like. Vasu and the devas are present to help with this. 12.7 Moon moves into Aquarius as Venus gains a bit of strength in Capricorn and moves into Satabisha nakshatra at 03:46 CST. Varuna and his critical nature rules over the day as Moon receives drishti here from Rahu and transits a sign of Saturn. This can be a contraction day, a day where criticism of Self and others is high. Remember your gratitude. It is also a day to be very mindful of your health. It is said that when disease starts in Satabisha, Varuna's noose tightens and it becomes incurable. Take Saturn's lead and eat well, be on a good routine and mind the seasonal influences. Use preventative measure today and help others do the same. Moon Mind :::
11.12 Moon in Aquarius and Purvabhadrapada nakshatra for the majority of the day. Ajaikapada is the ruler of this nakshatra- a form of Lord Shiva dancing on one leg. Today provides a balancing act and handling impossible feats with a bit of grace and (seemingly) some ease. Purification is happening. Go beyond the mundane. Emotions are sensitive and in a reactive state. Tend to your own needs. Self care is essential. Moon will be receiving triple drishti from Jupiter, Rahu and Mars at this time. Storm energy is here, but learning from it is possible. Take the higher road in your encounters. Later in the evening, Moon moves into Pisces and into Uttarabhadrapada (ruled by Ahirbudhynya, a naga, or serpent deity) and outside of Jupiter, Rahu and Mars's triple drishti, yet still receives Mars's gaze while sitting in a sign ruled by Jupiter. This evening and tomorrow, get nourishment and expansion through wisdom and steadiness. The intuition is sharp. There is more being offered than meets the eye though, so look beneath the surface for answers and solutions. Venus moves to PurvaAshada nakshatra near the end of the day. Expect cleansing and purifying from the water goddess, Apas. Let energy move in and out freely over the coming weeks. Go with the flow, but make changes and adjustments as needed. Be fierce if called to action. 11.13 Later this evening, Moon moves to Revati nakshatra. The mind seeks nourishment and connection. Divine orchestration from Universal Ma is possible today. Pushan, protects, nourishes and provides fruitful journeys for us as well. Today and the next are about trusting the process and gaining the resources needed for growth and forward momentum. Things may move swiftly. Run with it. Moon Mind :::
10.15 - 10.16 Moon transits Aquarius in Satabisha nakshatra and receives drishti from Rahu and Jupiter. Watch for shadowed thinking and cravings as well as self-righteousness. Satabisha is ruled by Varuna, the "all seeing" god with a thousand eyes. He looks for wrongdoing and punishes for mistakes. His competitive nature can feel harsh at times. But ultimately his goal is to uphold Natural Law. Ask your self where you are scrutinizing too much- whether it is towards your Self or others. Can you let go, surrender, lose some of the judgment, and find more balance? Sometimes "knowing too much" is the real issue. Today, ask your Self where you can let go and let god. Later in the evening on 10.15, Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada, ruled by Ajaikapada, a form of Lord of the Dance, Lord Shiva. Ajaikapada is a Rudra (chaos/storm god) who stands on one leg and is driven to purify, maintain rituals, and rules over endings. He wants tapas and penance- your hard work- in order to get results. He is one-pointed and seems to balance the impossible. On 10.16 Moon moves to Pisces and the wisdom finally settles in. The Jupiter influence on the day offers expansion and a new "knowing" not yet visible until now. You can thank the ancestors for offering some of this vision. Moon moves to Uttarabhadrapada mid afternoon. Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the deep, will help with your inner exploration and self- expansion. New awareness will come from the depths, the hidden realms at this time. Sun, however is weak, so your new awareness may come from a feeling of vulnerability or from the dark depths of your soul. Get used to it. The next month of debilitated Sun brings more opportunities for growth as we uncover, shed, and peel back the shadows and darkness from our seemingly endless depths. With the passing of Navaratri, it is now open season for inviting in the darkness. Welcome her with open arms and see if you can't find a new relationship with her. The chaos and destructive forces are just as essential as the light and laughter. Moon Mind :::
Thursday, 9.18 Moon is waxing in the 15th tithi (purnima) and is currently in Aquarius in Purvabhadrapada. Today offers an opportunity for balance- outer and inner. The winds of Vayu may be sweeping you. Feel the momentum? Find your dance with it, your personal rhythm and take harmonious action. Venus as just crossed over Saturn and they are still in tight conjunction. Saturn and Rahu are one degree a part. Creativity, desires, passions, and storms are strong. Find a structured stance with these cravings and natural forces. Be aligned with Saturn, and you can't go wrong. Ganesh Chaturthi {birthday} celebrations have ended now {India time} with Anant Chaturdashi. Jai Ganesha! Moon will be full on 9.19 at 06:13 CDT. Full Moon is in Pisces in PurvaBhadrapada nakshatra. Key words for the Full Moon and waning cycle ahead: tapas, purification, Shiva, creative movement, changes and shifts, balancing act, endings, renewal. Just in time for fall equinox on 9.22. The moon has become a dancer at this festival of love. ~Rumi |
