Looking Ahead: February 12th: Sun in Aquarius February 18th: Saturn at 2 degrees in Sagittarius February 22nd: Mercury in Aquarius February 24th: Maha Shivaratri February 26th: New Moon in Aquarius and Satabisha Nakshatra + Annual Solar Eclipse March 1st: Mars in Aries (own sign) March 3rd: Venus Retrograde March 12th: Full Moon in Leo and Purvaphalguni nakshatra + Holi March 14th: Sun in Pisces Sun in Aquarius Sun moves to Aquarius at 07:46 am MST today, joining the restructuring planet, Ketu here. This is a healing transit, if you choose to look closely at your challenges, setbacks and obstacles. Resistance to your darkness will provoke more challenges, so best to surrender and lean in. The soul and the ego are going through a transformation in the cycle to come, which lasts until March 14th. Allow yourself to be stripped, shredded and release illusions that are keeping you in the dark. Mercury in Aquarius February 22nd, mid morning, swift moving Mercury arrives in Aquarius- joining Sun and Ketu here. This marks the last planet that will conjunct Ketu after months of all planets being hemmed in between Rahu and Ketu during the Kala Sarpa Yoga. Though this malefic yoga technically ended once Mars shifted into Pisces weeks ago, the conjunction of Sun and now Mercury with Ketu, is significant. There is closure taking place and certain death to old mental behaviors and patterns. The mind will be disconnected, restructured and transformed. Think of this like an internal re-boot. Maha Shivaratri Shivaratri arrives just before the new Moon (Amavasya) on February 24th. This is a time of deep silence and strong potential. It is the marriage celebration of Shiva and Shakti, a symbolic union of wholeness- when the absolute unmanifest, conjoins with the pulse of life force energy. Masculine and feminine merge and create life- and the ability to manifest becomes amplified. From this place of union, we can ignite the power of being, the power of life. New Moon in Aquarius On February 26th, the new Moon takes place in Aquarius at 07:59 am MST with the annual solar eclipse and four planets transiting the medicine star, Satabisha. Amavasya is the empty Moon, or new Moon- ripe with potential, fertility and possibility. It is always connected to Pitr, the god of the ancestors, particularly the father's lineage. Are you disconnected from your First Chakra? Use this easy test to find out how embodied and connected you are to your First Chakra- and why it matters so much for your health and vitality. Watch My Short Video Now Mars in Aries On March 1st at 13:38 MST, Mars moves through the challenging gandanta (gap) of endings and leaps into a new beginning. He will be burning off the past two years of karma (action) as he steps through this portal. There are three of these poignant gandantas in the zodiac- all marked by the gap between water and fire signs. Venus Retrograde At 07:21 am on January 27th, Venus arrives in its exaltation sign, Pisces, joining Mars here. This will be an extended stay for Venus in its most powerful sign. Normally Venus transits are about one months long, but Venus will be here until May 31st. Part of this transit, Venus will be retrograde (from March 3rd to April 15th) rendering her effects debilitated. Expect highs (exalted) and lows (retrograde) with all things Venus during this transit. Full Moon in Leo The March full Moon is on the 12th at 08:54 am MST, while Moon is at the edge of Leo. Moon will be conjunct shadow node Rahu at this time and moving through Aryaman's domain in Uttaraphalguni. Aryaman is one of the 12 Adityas, meaning he brings resources, support and abundance on the material plane of existence. He is also known as the chief of the ancestors and that which pleases them- particularly through marriage, children and anything that continues the lineage. The Phalguni stars relate to love, sexuality and relationship. Perfectly timed, as the Vedic fertility festival Holi is taking place simultaneously. Mercury in Pisces As Mercury settles into its debilitation sign, Pisces, on March 10th, a mental body depression arrives. This impacts life path, purpose and a sense of progress. This depression with hopes, dreams and aspirations is impacted by the inner critic and past failures. Part of you doesn't trust your ability to succeed, so subconsciously there's a refusal to step forward. At the same time, this is powerful opportunity to look more closely at the mental thought patterns that are hindering your success, momentum and achievements. Sun in Pisces On March 14th, Sun moves to the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces, at 05:40am MST. He joins Mercury and Venus here. Retrograde Jupiter gives his gaze, bringing expansion and integrity. This is a cycle of increasing courage, strength and empowerment by activating creativity and inner power. It's vital that you step into your creative intelligence with gusto and tenacity! Where are you slacking, playing small and refusing to increase the vibrancy of your life? What does it look like to upgrade your relationships, purpose and inner power? Horoscopes Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: Here we go again You're dancing with the fire You're dancing with the Beast You're still hungry- I'll take you to the feast. Here we go again The rage is a craving The thunder is your song The power is misfortune The misery is strong Here we go again The spirals and the chaos The torment and the chains No steps to the mirror Oh! The Beast lives on. Here we go again I'm waiting with my palms I watch you burn and writhe I sing your laments Still waiting for your dawn. -Swati J. Miller Taurus: THE HOUSE OF BELONGING I awoke this morning in the gold light turning this way and that thinking for a moment it was one day like any other. But the veil had gone from my darkened heart and I thought it must have been the quiet candlelight that filled my room, it must have been the first easy rhythm with which I breathed myself to sleep, it must have been the prayer I said speaking to the otherness of the night. And I thought this is the good day you could meet your love, this is the grey day someone close to you could die. This is the day you realize how easily the thread is broken between this world and the next… -David Whyte Gemini: It doesn't interest me if there is one God or many gods. I want to know if you belong or feel abandoned. If you know despair or can see it in others. I want to know if you are prepared to live in the world with its harsh need to change you. If you can look back with firm eyes saying this is where I stand. I want to know if you know how to melt into that fierce heat of living falling toward the center of your longing. I want to know if you are willing to live, day by day, with the consequence of love and the bitter unwanted passion of your sure defeat. I have heard, in that fierce embrace, even the gods speak of God. —David Whyte Cancer: How do trees deal with injustice? They grow a branch wherever they were cut. And how do sparrows deal with grief? They open their tiny wings and swoop at anything that glistens. So why am I all cut & hungry? Because I do not know the tree that is my soul and refuse the sparrow in my heart. - from Finding Inner Courage by Mark Nepo Leo: Everyone who terrifies you is sixty-five percent water. And everyone you love is made of stardust, and I know sometimes you cannot even breathe deeply, and the night sky is no home, and you have cried yourself to sleep enough times that you are down to your last two percent, but nothing is infinite, not even loss. You are made of the sea and the stars, and one day you are going to find yourself again. - F. Butler Virgo: "Once upon a time, when women were birds, there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy. The birds still remember what we have forgotten, that the world is meant to be celebrated." -Terry Tempest Williams Libra: SWEET DARKNESS You must learn one thing. The world was made to be free in. Give up all the other worlds except the one to which you belong. Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you. -David Whyte Scorpio: The Thing Is The thing is.. to love life, to love it even when you have no stomach for it and everything you've held dear crumbles like burnt paper in your hand, your throat filled with the silt of it. When grief sits with you, its tropical heat thickening the air, heavy as water more fit for gills than lungs; when grief weights you like your own flesh only more of it, an obesity of grief, you think, How can a body withstand this? Then you hold life like a face between your palms, a plain face, no charming smile, no violet eyes, and you say, yes, I will take you I will love you again. -Ellen Bass Sagittarius: Be taught now, among the trees and rocks, how the discarded is woven into shelter, learn the way things hidden and unspoken slowly proclaim their voice in the world.... Find that far inward symmetry to all outward appearances, apprentice yourself to yourself, begin to welcome back all you sent away, be a new annunciation, make yourself a door through which to be hospitable, even to the stranger in you. - David Whyte Capricorn: You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. Meanwhile the world goes on. Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers. Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting- over and over announcing your place in the family of things. - Mary Oliver Aquarius: Praying It doesn't have to be the blue iris, it could be weeds in a vacant lot, or a few small stones; just pay attention, then patch a few words together and don’t try to make them elaborate, this isn't a contest but the doorway into thanks, and a silence in which another voice may speak. - Mary Oliver Pisces: What To Do In Darkness Go slowly Consent to it But don't wallow in it Know it as a place of germination And growth Remember the light Take an outstretched hand if you find one Exercise unused senses Find the path by walking it Practice trust Watch for dawn - Marilyn McEntyre Don't Miss My *free* Embodied Chakra Class!

This waxing cycle coincides with Shivaratri and a total solar eclipse. As the Moon empties entirely, the connection to your inner landscape deepens. This is an opportunity to plant seeds of desire very intentionally. During the eclipse portal (March 8th to 23rd) your soil will be tilled, old roots will be dug up, rocks and debris will be removed. It's a time of clearing and cleaning- of preparation.
Sun In Pisces Sun in Pisces instigates release and endings. As your inner light source moves to the final sign of the zodiac on March 13th at 22:24 PST, a sense of closure is initiated. This theme of doors closing, so others can open, is truly being triggered during this eclipse portal. The Sun in Pisces intensifies this awareness of endings and letting go. It's essential that this be a conscious process in order to maximize the results. Mercury In Pisces Mercury moves to its debilitation sign, Pisces, on March 18th at 15:55 PST, joining Sun in this watery sign. The mental body is moving, changing and being cleansed with the fluid wisdom of Pisces. There is a certain experience of endings and release that will be experienced in this cycle, adding to the themes already enlivened by the eclipse portal and Sun in Pisces simultaneously. *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic (sidereal) rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your Western sign (Tropical) as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Use these horoscopes to support your eclipse portal transformation: Aries: Gains come with your commitment to steady steps. Be resourceful and flexible with your efforts. Rigidity will not pay off. You are learning how to work with your power more effectively and honestly- yet the shadow is provoking issues with your awareness. Where are you stuck? In denial? Inattentive? Not listening to your gut wisdom? Attend to your children and your child-like sensibilities. Taurus: Career, home life and relationships are front and center right now. Confusion and uncertainties are rampant, with excitement and possibility close behind. Connect authentically and let relationships serve you and your dharmic path more intimately. What are you learning about your gifts? Illusions in your heart are creating frustrations and a lack of clarity with your emotional body wisdom. Gemini: This is a time of healing and gathering more support. Where are you saying yes? Where are you saying no? Wisdom, resources and clarity for your path and purpose are arriving. Are you listening and moving towards your truth or hiding in the darkness? Your dharmic path is activated and enlivened, so pay attention to messages and resources arriving to support your progress. Cancer: Nourishment continues to be a theme of necessity for you. Do you know how to nourish yourself properly? What are you eating- through choices, environment and relationships? It's time to notice where you are disconnected, out of alignment with your own needs, not clear with boundaries. Your inner work right now is heavily impacted by your darkness, shadow and unconscious territory. Leo: Self and relationships are causing stops and starts, frustrations and confusion. Part of you says yes, but another other part of you says no. What is this conflict between your two halves? This is an opportunity to integrate polarities, parts of yourself that are misaligned or out of sync. Relationships bring the mirror of what needs to change and transform. Virgo: Healing arrives for all four bodies- mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. Lean into the messages and note what resources support your change process. Painful parts of your being are finally being released after many years of struggle, hardship and pain. Seek support and guidance for this process and be courageous with the letting go process. Libra: Your power and gut wisdom are essential resources for growth and opening. Cut out and release foods, relationships, actions, choices and environments that diminish your power and clarity. Your intuition is trying to strengthen and push forth. Support this process with cleansing and cleaning up the residue in your life and behaviors. You are more powerful than you are currently aware of. Scorpio: Your heart is being cracked open, touched with new wisdom and resources. Challenges and release are part of this deep purging process. As the light starts to touch the old wounds, notice your response. Lean in and listen more closely to the messages. How can you find balance with your opening and closing, a new harmony, a new dance? Take this wisdom into your work and life offerings. Sagittarius: Get creatively courageous! Awaken your four bodies with creative activation and artistic resources. This will invite in more possibility, life force energy and dharmic alignment. Does it bring you joy? Say yes more to these desires! Start releasing more of the obligations you put upon yourself as these are old stories that are keeping you in the dark, robbing you of increased power. Capricorn: Vocalize and express. Clarify your self expression and use it as a resource for deeper nourishment and support. Food and eating habits are a big part of your nourishment process right now. Where are you numbing, suppressing or avoiding your feelings with what you ingest? Looking at your wounds and suppressed darkness is vital for creating more clarity about what you really need. Aquarius: Relationships are still a source of growth and confusion, causing deep transformation within. Your full being is getting restructured- mental, emotional, physical and spiritual bodies are getting cracked open for greater light and wisdom to arrive. Are you too focused on the pain to notice the gifts? How are you saying yes to your own power and strength? Where are you saying no? Pisces: Liberation and healing are vital right now. As you radically step into release and letting go, more space will open and be available for your dharmic path and purpose. Identify your struggles and stories as these are vital for your dharmic work and will help you share your gifts more authentically. All four bodies- mental, emotional, physical and spiritual- are finding a sense of closure and release. For the full version sign up for my membership. This Week's Intention: Touch the earth with your feet but let your heart fling wide open to the winds of change. Moon is waning (dark half). The week begins with Moon in the 4th tithi and the sign Libra. It passes through Scorpio (its sign of debilitation), Sagittarius, and into Capricorn this week. There is much change happening with the planets in a seven day period!! Mercury has just entered Aquarius, Venus jumps into Aries, Sun moves to Pisces and Saturn goes retrograde. Mercury enters Aquarius on Sunday the 8th, which starts the week off with a vulnerable Mercury. Don't force mental activities, writing or commerce, until it strengthens in degrees on Tuesday. Mercury moves into Aquarius on Sunday at 17:44 PST until March 27th, and is conjunct Sun until March 14th. With Mercury now out of the gaze of Rahu and Saturn, we may begin to feel more clarity in mind, focus and intention. Get organized, focused and clear. Set goals, take action and achieve the aim. This will require your ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit, but it will be worth it. Monday sweeps in with winds of change as Moon transits Swati nakshatra, ruled by the wind god, Vayu. We may feel a sense of strength and inner power arise, with the courage to make change and take action. Start asking for what you want! We may feel a sense of being divided on Tuesday as we confront two different paths before us. Do you take the road less traveled or the one that is well worn? The only way to know for certain which is the right one is to go with what feels the most nourishing and supportive. The answer will come from your heart, your ability to feel what deeply nourishes you, not from the mind. As the Moon enters Scorpio early morning on Wednesday, our physical and emotional sensitivities are aroused. Moon is debilitated in Scorpio and conjuncts Saturn here, a recipe for deep intuitive insights resourced from the somatic wisdom of the body. Or this combination can bring a sensation of instability and fragility. The most important task at hand for the next two days is to get embodied. Stay connected to your physical body and breath, and to physical sensation as much as possible. Venus moves to the edge of Pisces on Wednesday and is simultaneously strengthened and weakened by this placement. Our relationship with endings, loss and release is deepening as a result of so much activity in Pisces- which is intimately connected to themes with the emotional body and transformation. As Ketu, Mars and exalted Venus have been conjunct here for several weeks we've had an opportunity to work with restructuring our relationship to money, relationships and creativity in a very intensified way. Venus crosses the tricky gandanta (gap) between Pisces (endings and water) and jumps into Aries (beginnings and fire) early morning Thursday the 12th at 05:18 am PST. This jump starts new creative beginnings for relationships, money and artistry and offers a certain passionate, dynamic spirit in the process. Use this zest to create something new in your life, just don't get burned out in the process! Timing is everything. Make a fresh start and take powerful action steps aligned with Nature. Are you working with her cycles or against them? Use my 2015 Moon Wisdom Calendar to help you align your actions, intentions and goals with the cosmos. My special price + bonuses ends tonight, Wednesday the 11th. Get the details. Thursday requires us to not get lost in precision or mental body story telling. Stay one-pointed and goal focused, but not at the loss of expanding your awareness, possibility and creative imagination. The challenge will be to stay open minded, awake, hopeful. Keep the faith alive. As Sun moves to the edge of Aquarius on Friday, we may feel mentally and physically drained, fried and overwhelmed. Mercury shifts into Satabisha nakshatra today bringing an extra critical edge to the mind over the next ten days. How can you build a deeper, more compassionate relationship with your inner critic? Moon shifts into Sagittarius midday and an uprooting process begins. We must start digging below the surface, turning up the ground and preparing the soil for new seeds. Moon is moving through Mula nakshatra, Nirrti's domain, which insures this will be a disheveled, chaotic process. Stay grounded as much as possible and touch the earth for support. Early morning Saturday, Saturn begins his six month retrograde motion. This is an event of re-visiting our structures, support systems- both internally and externally. The returning process is happening on an emotional body level which will demand our complete attention- especially as Jupiter continues to transit through the heart-centered emotional water sign of Cancer. The inner work that we commit to at this time will be lasting, deeply rooted change. This will bring transformation on the physical and emotional body levels. Read more about Saturn's transit through Scorpio and how he is impacting each sign. The next big cosmic shift of the week comes late Saturday as Sun moves into Pisces at 16:24 PST. We've had weeks of intense focus on water signs and our emotional body, but now the heat is on! Fire intensifies as the Sun moves into the water sign Pisces, conjunct Mars and Ketu here. A triple fire combination in a water sign! And the water planet Venus is also in a fire sign, Aries, as well. The next two weeks will require us to face our challenging emotions diligently, yet the gaze of Jupiter onto Pisces will assist with support and nourishment for this process. Anger will be an important theme to address during this time. What is underneath the anger?! What is your anger trying to tell you?! What are the needs below the anger, frustration and rage?! Addressing your anger will help you find a deeper relationships with passion, your fire of life. Be brave! Saturday, seek fluidity as much as possible. Feel your way towards change. What are your needs and what nourishes you? Break away from what isn't working and search for what does. Use Sunday to find your footing. Root, ground and sense through your feet. We may feel a bit wobbly as Sun has newly entered Pisces (the sign connected to feet) But the Vishva Devas are here to offer their support if you'll let them in. Moon moves to Capricorn late Sunday and themes of support, stability, grounding and structure predominate. Don't force it. Instead see if you can soften towards the support. It's here, be willing to receive. Monday helps us expand and become aware of new resources. Stay awake and open to receive what arrives. My Jyotish Basics Classes have begun!
