Expansion and Contraction: The Ribcase
The planets are charged, poised and ready for take off during this next waxing cycle. Can you feel the expansion taking place within you and your life? In your relationships and desires? This is a perfect opportunity to work with the rib case and our experience of expansion and contraction. Using this theme of expansion and contraction, we will work specifically with the ribcase in this Creative Ritual. The ribcase provides protection for the body's vital organs- heart and lungs specifically. Every breath we take is connected to opening and expansion as well as letting go, releasing and contracting. The breath is the greatest metaphor for boundaries, and it's no mistake that the lungs literally provide us with the ability to live and "take in life" as well. Our ribcase is the protective case that houses these sacred physical tools of the body that allow us to expand and contract our life. When we work with the ribcase, we can explore these themes more intentionally, while letting the body direct our experience. Start standing or lying down. Begin by bringing your attention to your breath. What is the quality of your breath on the inhale and exhale. Do you feel the breath staying in your chest or moving into your belly? Don't try to force this to change. We are just being a witness to "what is" right now. Continue this focus for a few minutes, then add another body part to this open and close momentum that starts in your chest. As you expand on the inhale, let another body part become involved. As you exhale let the body relax and surrender to a neutral. Rise and fall. Open and close. Expand contract. Continue working with these expressions and notice what other body parts naturally join. Let the body move like a wave in harmony with the breath. Use a time frame of 20 minutes for this ribcase/breath exploration. Then come to your drawing pad and do a 10 minute sketch of your experience. A "snap shot" of your embodiment process. What colors arrive? What textures? What types of lines and shape? Give a title to this piece then answer the harvesting questions below. Harvesting Questions: If my ribcase could speak, what would it say to me? What am I opening to? What am I closing to? What am I expanding towards? Where am I contracting? Where am I letting in life force? Where am I resisting life force? What does my ribcase need? Moon is waning until the new Moon on April 29th and then begins to wax (shukla paksha), moving through Aries, Taurus and into Gemini this week. Moon is exalted on 5.30. A powerful week ahead in the planets + the celebration of Akshaya Tritiya on the 1st!
Monday, April 28th The week starts with the Moon in Aries, joining Mercury, Ketu and exalted Sun there. Today Moon transits Ashwini nakshatra and there is much drive, movement and momentum palpable. Though your plate may feel piled high today and overwhelm may set in, taking time for rejuvenation, fresh air and deep breaths, is essential. Don't push too hard today and avoid the super hero complex. Hit the pause button and check in with your mental, emotional and physical bodies whenever possible. Cut out anything unnecessary and only tackle projects and tasks that are at the top of your list. Tonight, take a relaxing bath to unwind. Set intentions for your solar eclipse. Get a good night's rest and put Self care as a top priority. Tuesday, April 29th New Moon is April 29th at 1:14 am CDT while Moon is in Aries and Bharani Nakshatra. The annular solar eclipse will occur simultaneously. Solar eclipse begins on April 28th at 10:53 PM CDT and continues until April 29th at 3:15 AM CDT. The maximum eclipse is on April 29th at 1:04 AM CDT, though it won't be visible from the US. Read more about this new Moon and solar eclipse. The day continues with Moon in Bharani Nakshatra and moving into waxing phase (shukla paksha). With three planets in Bharani simultaneously (Moon, Sun and Mercury) expect full transformation on the inner and outer levels of experience: mental body, physical body and emotional body. Destruction and death are inevitable. What needs to die in order for you to be reborn? Though today could bring some uncomfortable inner and outer changes, trust the process and the cycle. Yama is the king of "less is more" and he brings the restraints necessary for full self-realization. Wednesday, April 30th The theme of power and intensity continues. With four exalted planets expressing their fullest expression, we may feel overwhelm, energized, expansion and extreme power set in- perhaps all at once. Sun, Moon (for the first half of the day), Saturn (though exalted in Libra, it is debilitated due to its retrograde motion), and Venus all share a sense of grande momentum today. This is a day of clarity, articulation, and powerful insight. Take notes. Be intentional. Use today to prepare for Akshaya Tritiya tomorrow. What steps would help bring more comfort, support, nourishment into your life? What needs to be cut away in order for this to take place? Get brutal as you cut out the insignificant and you rise to the next level. Thursday, May 1st Akshaya Tritiya, the auspicious "day of lasting achievement" in the Vedic calendar, occurs on May 1st in the USA while both Sun and Moon are exalted and Moon is in the third tithi (Moon phase) of the waxing cycle. The third tithi begins at 00:53 CDT on the 1st and continues until the wee hours on the 2nd at 1:32 am CDT. Moon will be in its mulitrikona sign and in the auspicious Rohini nakshatra during the majority of this time. Akshaya tritiya is considered to be a very powerful time- free from malefic influences of all kinds and highly auspicious for all new ventures. For lasting success and achievement, this the the day! Meditation, pujas, action steps, will all bring powerful and lasting results. Go for gold today. Create, expand, envision your success! Write down goals and desires, but take a meaningful action step towards your goals today nonetheless; they will be multiplied. Friday, May 2nd Moon transits its mulitrikona sign of Taurus and Mrigashirsha nakshatra today, moving into this star at 00:43 am CDT. Midday, Moon moves to Gemini at 13:37 CDT. In Gemini, Moon joins Jupiter; both receive drishti (gaze) from Rahu nine houses away. Let the theme of nourishment and soma bring intention to your day. Seek comfort and support while avoiding anger and agitation. If emotional outbursts arrive, check in with your Self. What do you need to change for greater support and alignment with your needs? Make sure you aren't blending with others and their whims so effortlessly that you forget about your own needs in the process. You may find that the mind wanders easily today, the emotions shift quickly, and day dreaming is your chosen escape route. Take some time to wander away with your dreams and move towards greater nourishment. Simultaneously, there seems to be a fixed agenda and much focus possible. Is it possible to do both? Balance rigidity and flexibility. Saturday, May 3rd Moon moves to Ardra nakshatra at 2:36 am CDT. Dreams and desires may be mounting today. What are you forcing? Is Rahu having his way with you? Strong attachments, cravings, fears and desires may arrive with Ardra, resulting in stormy weather patterns. Is the desire for grande expansion causing you to lose sight of what is really important for you? If emotions and exhaustion arrive today, listen intently to their messages. There's a reason for the storms that Rudra brings; if for no other reason than to clear and clean, purge and clarify. Stay out of the rubbish bin today and calm your inner storms by channeling them into creative outlets. Sunday, May 4th Moon moves to Punarvasu nakshatra at 4:56 am CDT. The nourishing qualities of Jupiter offer some comfort and cushion for the final day of the weekend. Find some ease and seek new awareness. Meditate and recharge your batteries. Notice Aditi offering her expansive qualities to you throughout the day and note the awareness that arrives when you slow down and create intentional space for listening and embodiment. Contemplate, let in some new learning, creative flow and allow the abundance of life to move you. Mercury Moves to Taurus on May 4th at 11:25 pm CDT, out of the complexity of Aries and away from conjunction with Sun and Ketu + multiple aspects from Rahu, Saturn and Mars. Read more about Mercury in Taurus. I am excited to share my Exalted Sun workshop with you today! Get my daily Moon Mind calendar for each week via my newsletter. New Moon + Solar Eclipse
New Moon is April 29th at 1:14 am CDT while Moon is in Aries and Bharani Nakshatra. The annular solar eclipse will occur simultaneously. Over the past months we’ve been working with issues and themes of relationships, balance, stability and support, while ego, power issues and strength have added further complexity to our understanding and growth. These themes are enlivened, intensified and strengthened during the new Moon on the 29th, while getting an extra edge of intensity due to the solar eclipse occurring simultaneously. Solar eclipse begins on April 28th at 10:53 PM CDT and continues until April 29th at 3:15 AM CDT. The maximum eclipse is on April 29th at 1:04 AM CDT, though it won't be visible from the US. Sun and Moon are in exact conjunction in Aries for the occasion of new Moon and solar eclipse. They are both simultaneously conjunct Ketu and Mercury as well. These four planets receive direct drishti (gaze) from a compromised Saturn (retrograde, exalted in Libra, deeming it debilitated) and the north node, Rahu. Additionally, Mars throws his 8th aspect on this combination, heating and intensifying the situation. Think: pressure cooker. Pressure cooker for the mind, the ego, the sense of Self, the emotions. Restructuring, transformation, change and endings are inevitable as a result. We’ve been called upon to restructure our thinking, our behaviors, do less and accomplish more- out of force. We’ve been both challenged and supported in our relationships and are striving to find a balance with these pieces. The times have called for letting go, purging and pruning, finding solutions and “best practice” for ourselves and our momentum. The ego has been tested, forced to change some old habits and asked to quit going over the same old territory while still hoping for different results. If you’ve been paying attention, self tracking your behaviors and actions, these pieces have likely found a more natural momentum forward. Awareness truly does offer growth, not that it insures ease, grace, or comfort. With a certain willingness present however, it is much easier to change when we can accept what is, and let the “art of allowing” be enlivened. This new Moon + solar eclipse combination marks the ripping and shredding of the veils that we've been clinging to. If there are any left with the current themes, you can be assured that this new Moon marks the sacred extraction process for each of us in our own way. The pieces that have been left unattended or ignored, will get their day of illumination now as they come out of the shadows and from our depths. Sun, Moon, and Mercury will be in Bharani nakshatra at the time of the new Moon and eclipse, while Ketu is in Ashwini. Yama, lord of restraint and death, is holding us firmly in his grip at this time. There will be a certain amount of restriction being felt for us as a result. Pressures arise over “doing the right thing” and what pieces of our lives and our relationships must die in order for us to fully live. This complexity is most definitely necessary for the re-building that is coming; the next phase of life. And though we may feel as though we are precariously perched on the edge of our life, balancing the impossible, there is healing and rejuvenation likely if we listen carefully to the messages that are coming. Unless you are the type who needs extreme force, chaos and calamity to make life and personal changes, expect the messages of necessary change to come more subtly. Expect flashes of insight and moments of awakening. Don’t ignore these signs. The coming weeks will offer the purification and transformational elements we need to live more freely and harmoniously with life. But expect this new space to be provided after clearing out the rubble. It will require great restraint and self control to get the job done and carry forward the actions necessary to achieve our desired outcomes. The most challenging question for all of us will be “what is the right thing to do?” A simple/complex inquiry to answer. Get my daily Moon Mind calendar each week via my newsletter. Planetary Transits Venus entered Pisces its sign of exaltation on April 27th at 13:49 CDT and remains here until May 23rd. Out of Rahu's gaze, Venus now enters direct drishti from Mars seven houses away in Virgo. A passionate, expansive and creative month is ahead for all of us. The heat of Mars provokes and stokes the passion and creativity of Venus. Though fire (Mars) and water (Venus) don't mix, the steam created should inspire movement, change and creative action at this time, while instigating momentum. Relationships will be in the lime light and provide much fuel for the fire. The critic may be high in the weeks to come, the mental confusion may set in, or some friction. Watch for these things with personal and professional relationships. If at all possible surrender to an ease and flow instead. Seek clarity for your self around what nurtures and soothes, vs. what irritates and agitates. Where can you create more clarity within your Self? Where can you get more clear about your needs and boundaries? Where can you let go and allow a certain ease to settle in? Akshaya Tritiya, the auspicious "day of lasting achievement" in the Vedic calendar, occurs on May 1st in the USA while both Sun and Moon are exalted and Moon is in the third tithi (Moon phase) of the waxing cycle. Mercury Moves to Taurus on May 4th at 11:25 pm CDT, out of the complexity of Aries and away from conjunction with Sun and Ketu + multiple aspects from Rahu, Saturn and Mars. Swiftly moving Mercury completes this transit on May 23rd. This transit may inspire some exploration of our depths- which can offer some necessary understanding and awareness- proving valuable as we navigate the relationship themes alive right now. Expect some new information and resources arriving that will help you make sense of your current experiences and predicaments. Find new ways to connect. Expand communication and commerce. Work on themes of support and sustainability, comfort and clarity. The planets are ever changing and so are we. I've created a new virtual workshop series to help you navigate the constant movement in and around us. Read more about my four part series, the Cosmic and Creative Self workshops. Full Moon is on May 14th at 14:15 CDT while in Libra. More about this fascinating full Moon in my next transit report for the waning Moon cycle. Big transits are coming. First Jupiter exalts in Cancer June 18th, then Rahu and Ketu move in July to Virgo and Pisces respectively, and later this year Saturn moves to Scorpio. Needing some guidance and clarity for this coming year? Schedule a yearly progression with me. I still have some sessions available for May. Horoscopes for the Waxing Moon Cycle {April 29th to May 14th} *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: Use this waxing cycle to clean up. Clean up your gut and diet. Be sure to alkalize. Clean up your words and get clear on boundaries so you can voice them effectively. Let your inner passions swell as romance becomes hard to resist. Relationship themes still persist as you navigate opposing realms of head vs. your libido. Don’t confuse this with what the heart actually needs. How can you make more mindful choices now? Can you make choices for your self that bring more comfort, creativity, support and nourishment? Can you slow down to listen? Challenge your Self to find new ways and means. Ego and self power are strong right now. Balance others’ feelings and needs with your own. Taurus: There is a fire lit within you and though you are shining brightly from the inside out, others may not notice the power fully. This is part of an internal overhaul; transformation and changes that have been coming on for months now. Emotions and self expression are crucial parts of your changes. Share your Self in sacred ways that attend to your need for comfort and support. Make sure you don’t use your energy and resources frivolously. It is still vital that you listen to your gut for intuitive messages. Ask it directly for insights. Gemini: One of your many gifts is being able to roll with the punches as changes occur and challenges arise. You may be experiencing a sense of your remarkable resiliency right now. Use this as a potent take-away for moving forward. No matter what, you will re-create your Self. Your infinite creativity is a potent resource for you to remember and can be used to reinvent your Self. You can do this consistently so don’t hold back and don’t hold out on your self. Find new ways to offer yourself and use this potent, passionate creativity running through you to get the job done. Cancer: Everything you’ve been learning about giving and receiving is valuable for your growth and transformation, your boundaries and your clarity. These are the pieces that will allow you to get your needs met more sustainably and not wear yourself out. Use this information and apply it to your career in this waxing cycle. Who are you trying to impress? And how does this need for acceptance effect your offerings and what you are striving for? Best practice right now is balancing the outer offerings with turning inward. Find time to listen to your inner realms. Find comfort in creativity and your passion for life. Channel this into your gifts and offerings. Leo: The natural teacher in you is flourishing right now. There’s a certain ease in how you offer and share your self. It is important to remember that every teacher is in fact a student who learns the most with their offerings if they are open to receive. Be the beginner. See with fresh eyes. Watch for moments of ego that keep you from listening more carefully and being completely present. Allow constant inquiry. Let your knowledge come from your depths and use the unknown as your greatest creative, transformational inspiration. Virgo: Relationships are passionately progressing right now and your cravings are strong. Desires are coming from your depths and likely bring confusion. The unknown seems to sabotage your courage and action steps. Are you revisiting the same old patterns or are you willing to refocus on a new, more brilliant agenda? Are you willing to expand in the name of growth, or play small and keep doing what you’ve been doing? The only way towards new outcomes is to step into new actions. Work with the fears, not against them. And definitely don't avoid them all together. Libra: Cut, clear, purge. Attend to the business at hand. Function moment to moment. These themes from the past months have helped you step into some new realizations and the clarity has been a boon. The coming weeks can bring temptations to return to the old ways of life and being. Don’t succumb to past addictions or fall victim to relationships that do more harm than good. You know better now. See these bumps in the road as tests. Creativity comes from your gut and intuition. Make sure there’s room for your artistry and embodiment practices. Scorpio: Agni flares, providing necessary digestion for many old thoughts and feelings right now. Listen to your own digestion and assimilation process and use this as a resource for your offerings and gifts. Share from this intuitive resonance, teach from your depths, and be present to your vast creativity percolating within. You are able to download a lot of brilliance right now because you naturally listen more carefully than most. Avoid distractions and past pain traps, woundologies and the like- instead use these to inform your process and gather momentum for actions and insights. Connect, create, share, but do so in new ways with a new agenda. Sagittarius: Suddenly there's been a fire lit within you, though it may appear to have you moving in reverse. Your level of comfort and ease increases, giving the heart and home some extra padding. Use these pieces to bolster your contentment, your creativity and your zest for life. Find ways that these overlap with your career, your offerings and your gifts. Communicate effectively; don't make assumptions. Clean up your gut and your diet with the intention of clarifying and purifying from the inside out. Let this cleanliness seep into the rest of your life- including your relationships. Get clear on what works and doesn't work for you. Capricorn: Charge forward with your creativity courageously. Think outside the box. What foreign and far off connections can offer support and resources to you? How can you upgrade your skills with language in order to teach, create, connect and communicate more effectively? Inspire others by inspiring your self. Retrace your old steps and edit them. Now is the time to reformulate the way you share your self and your gifts, but you’ll have to do it differently then before if you want to sustainably move forward. Heart work and conscious attention to your emotions prove invaluable. Aquarius: Comforts abound. Passions are ignited. Speak and communicate creatively and profoundly. Take courageous steps forward with relationships and connections. Be clear with needs and boundaries and use this time as an opportunity to restructure the way you connect and communicate. Is there a way to be compassionate and kind to your Self and others while both of you get your needs met? Is there a way to open the ego up to more harmonious intake of environment and relationships? Watch for overindulgence in general and note when you are eating to comfort your self rather than nourish your self. Pisces: As you continue to expand and flow like water this month, it may feel like your relationships are trying to burn you a bit. There's clean up happening in who and what you relate to, how you relate and for what reasons. These issues are directly connected to your ability to speak and express your Self- both your needs and your healthy boundaries. Right now you are getting an opportunity to attend to new ways of self nourishment and comfort, learning what works and what doesn't. Find a healthy balance between unadulterated pleasure and passion without overindulgence and excess. Don't miss my horoscopes! Get my weekly newsletter here. Moon is waning (Krishna Paksha) and transits through Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and into Aries this week. This is week of turning inward, moving towards more introspection and harvesting inner wisdom. We are still in the midst of the delicate eclipse period, moving towards the solar eclipse on the 29th. Be gentle, stay receptive, find drops of compassion for your Self and others. Find ways to prune your life and allow in more space for joy and healing. Seek rest and restoration.
Monday, 4.21 Moon is in Uttarashada nakshatra today and moves to Capricorn at 13:15 CDT. Uttarashada is connected to Vishvadeva who guides integrity, good character and right action according to the Laws of Nature. Connect with integrity and focus today. Look for clarity in relationships. Be direct but make sure you are aligned with a heartfelt desire to be of service and you can't go wrong. The theme of overworking is high for the next two days so remember to work smarter, not harder. Ask your Self: Where can I cut back and let go? Where am I overworking? Struggling for success? What parts of my life/work are not getting the necessary support of Nature I need to thrive? Use these as prompts for your pruning work. Tuesday, 4.22 Moon moves to Sravana nakshatra at 6:07 am CDT. Look for Vishnu's expansive wisdom today. Wherever you have done some pruning in your life, space is being created. This space is vital for your personal expansion, for greater wisdom and clarity to enter. Let Vishnu assist you with this process today. No answer or insight is too small or insignificant. Likely you will need to be still and embodied in order to hear his messages. It may also help to connect with others, or to listen to some timely wisdom for extra guidance. Your relationships and connections can be a resource for this. The point is: be receptive and open to receive. Wednesday, 4.23 Moon moves to Dhanishta nakshatra at 4:36 am CDT. The Vasu Devas are sources of illumination and abundance, they bring us light (jyoti) and help us manifest on the material plane of existence. Get your head right today. Get your focus clear. Get your agenda in place. What is the goal? What is the necessary next step or action to achieve this goal? This focus needs to be balanced with some ease and grace. The "art of allowing" in other words. Both dynamics are key to "getting the job done" and to achieving life balance. Use music to get in the flow. Sing to lighten your mood. Empty the contents of your head and let in the Vasu Devas illumination with art and creativity. Allow space and time for awakening. Don't get overheated. Moon moves to Aquarius at 15:51 CDT, joining Venus there. Both receive drishti (gaze/aspect) from Rahu and Jupiter here. The focus becomes more about relating and our relationships later in the day as a result of Moon's movement. Avoid being needy and greedy, but rather work towards being receptive and open to receiving messages from others. Come to relationships with neutrality, a willingness to listen and with compassion. This will be an ample gift to share and way to let your light shine. Thursday, 4.24 Moon moves to Satabisha nakshatra at 3:07 am CDT. Let the gaze of Jupiter on the Moon soften the judgement of Varuna today. The inner critic may be high, on alert and feeling persecuted by others. What can we learn from these messages and where can we lighten, and let go? Keep interaction and life simple today. Return to the theme of "less is more" for guidance. Mind your manners and work towards a unified harmony rather than "separateness." The blessing today comes from Jupiter moving back into Punarvasu at 7:42 am CDT. Aditi and her desire for unity consciousness return to us as we expand towards knowledge and wisdom- with a bit less of Rahu's influence on the overall planetary transits. Read more about Jupiter's transit through Gemini here. Friday, 4.25 In the wee hours of the morning at 1:44 am CDT, Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra moving into close degrees with Venus. Find ways to lighten the load and the burdens of your life today. This is an excellent day for letting go of what isn't serving your highest good, looking for release, and asking for Lord Shiva's assistance with the process. Use yoga and dance to come back to a state of inner balance and reset after the long week. Today is a day of purification, which isn't always fun or joyful, but innately important and valuable. If there are any places of gripping, holding on or forcing, now is the time to seek change. Ask your self and your body: Where am I resisting? Where can I allow more ease and grace? What needs to die in order to create space for re-birthing? Where am I pushing too hard? Moon moves to Pisces at 18:48 CDT and into direct gaze from Mars. Clarity can come at this time, or mental/emotional outbursts such as anger. If you feel your temperature rising, looks specifically at why you are pushing too hard, doing too much, forcing an outcome, or being overly egocentric. These rules apply to the next 2.5 days. With Venus sandhi (in the gap) moving towards Pisces, pay special attention to relationships through the end of the week. Find ways to soften and flow, and move out of rigidity. Saturday, 4.26 At 00:36 am CDT, Moon moves to Uttarabhadrapada where the carving out process of yesterday begins to take shape with clarity, introspection and enlightening wisdom today. With the help of Ahirbudhnya, a naga (serpent) who helps us dive deep and look beneath the surface, we can use the previous days work to harness a deeper awareness now. It all adds up and becomes valuable so don't disregard the simple; it's all profound. Allow time for the mists and fogs to clear and the serpent energy to enliven. Serpent messages are connected to renewal, flexibility and awakening. Mercury, moving swiftly through Aries with Ketu and exalted Sun there as well, moves into Bharani nakshatra at 15:48 CDT. Mental sensitivity is high right now and in the coming days. Use this to your advantage and also as a tool of compassion for your Self and your relationships. What is weighting you down? What are the mental restraints and conditions you have put on your Self and others? Evaluate these for possible change. Nearing the end of the day at 23:31 CDT, Moon moves into Revati nakshatra where Pushan comes with his nourishing attentiveness. Sunday, 4.27 Where this week may have provided some scattering, some sense of being "lost" or misguided, overwhelmed or undernourished, today we get to re-gather and increase our inner reservoir. Pushan is a protector, a guide for the path, and helps us flourish and prosper. He encourages wealth in the material world, but is also a guide for the astral world. Eat lightly today as he prefers easily digestible foods. Our intuition and inner awareness after all are connected to the gut and our "gut responses". Venus moves to its sign of exaltation, Pisces, at 13:49 CDT and into Purvabhadrapada nakshatra. A passionate, expansive and creative month is ahead for all of us! More about this transit in next week's Waxing Moon Transit Report + Horoscopes. At 22:51 CDT, Moon crosses the tricky junction point of Pisces (water) and moves into Aries (fire) where he joins exalted Sun, Ketu, and Mercury there and moves into Ashwini nakshatra and receives drishti (gaze) from Mars eight houses away. Implosion or explosion? Our plates suddenly feel piled high and bursting at the seams, while energy resources may feel depleted and overwhelmed. We are nearing the final moon phase (15th tithi) and the new Moon + solar eclipse on the 29th. Monday morning will hit with a bang so try to get a good night sleep tonight. On Monday, don't sweat the small stuff, get out of your head and into your body as much as possible. Take "embodiment breaks" to stay grounded. Seek healing and rejuvenation and avoid the emotional outbursts. If overwhelm is present, take a good look at your head space and prioritize tasks effectively. Don't blame others. This does not have to be a day of crisis. *Enrollment ends Sunday April 27th for the Exalted Sun {virtual} Workshop + Early Bird discount! Get details and sign up here. If you follow my planetary transit reports, then you are well aware of the themes I've been discussing for weeks and months that involve "letting go" and finding a "less is more" approach to life while re-evaluating all of our relationships. The lunar eclipse in Libra on April 15th, marked a poignant two week period of intensity, which will culminate with the solar eclipse on April 29th. Get the details on all of that here. All of this attention on Aries and Libra has been a theme for well over a year due to the Saturn, Rahu and Ketu transits. These planets and their movements have been activating our issues with power, ego, relationships, self care, boundaries, finding new ways of being, and a new sense of balance. So as we come to the end of Rahu and Ketu's 18 month transit through Libra and Aries respectively (in July), the eclipses mark a moment in time where we get to "propel forward" with these themes by doing a conscious audit of our head space. Here to help us with these themes, is the newly exalted Sun in Aries. The cosmos are always timely! Sun moved to its sign of exaltation on 4.13 joining Ketu there. This transit lasts until Sun moves to Taurus on 5.14. Both Sun and Ketu in Aries receive drishti (gaze) from a retrograde and compromised Saturn, as well as Rahu in Libra. Mars gives his drishti to Sun and Ketu from Virgo eight houses away, bringing an extra level of heat and pressure to the Sun and Aries right now. Despite the challenging combinations at play, there is clearly moksha (a sense of liberation) in the works from this configuration and the nakshatras (lunar constellations) involved. The coming weeks of Sun in Aries, bring surprises, pressures and awakenings that insure liberation on multiple levels of life as we navigate the theme of "personal power". Exalted Sun is a time when the Sun is the "fullest" in his experience of life; his energy is maximized and feeling its own power. This translates as each of us working with our own relationship to power- for better or worse. With power comes great responsibility, a need for purpose and a request for intention, in order for maximum alignment with one's dharma and greater life harmony. Sun's cohabitation with Ketu at this time indicates cleansing, restructuring and purification of our soul, our sense of dharma, purpose and power. Ketu's extraction process is usually not fun and often comes quickly. Prepare to feel naked and vulnerable at times during this transit, stripped and uncertain of who and what to trust. The flip side of great confidence and power is vulnerability. Finding balance with our own innate strength is part of what this exalted Sun transit can offer us, even if our power feels uncertain. This is a time that encourages us to work on themes of power and personal power- within us and within our relationships. Don't miss my planetary articles and offerings. Sign up for my newsletter. Dance with your power!
Exalted Sun: The Head and Our Relationship with Power {Part of my virtual workshop series} ::: Sunday May 4th 12:00 to 1:30 pm CDT Sun is our energy, power and dynamism, which connects to our innate masculine/father energy. Sun transits Aries (its sign of exaltation) from April 13th to May 15th. Aries and Sun are both connected to our Head (the 1st house) as well as the 5th house of creativity and passion. We need to be fully dynamic beings, taking charge of our life power and our inner/outer passion in order to move forward effectively in life. This workshop will explore the dynamics at play between head, Aries, Sun, inner power, energy levels, and finding an embodied experience with these pieces. This work will help us navigate burnout, overwhelm, motivation and our actions more consciously. We will use somatic exploration, creative ritual and the arts, as well as journaling and a unique harvesting process for the workshop. Come prepared to move, create, inquire and share. Don't miss out! Enrollment ends Sunday April 27th for the first Exalted Sun workshop + Early Bird discount! Complete details about my new Cosmic & Creative Self Workshop series. *The workshop will be presented via conference call, but available as a recording for those who are not able to attend live. |
