I spent the first part of my day marching with large groups of women and men in Denver, CO- all rallying for change, equality, love and acceptance in varying forms.
It was a powerful expression of Democracy and it filled me with hope. People are gathering in large numbers right now, wanting change, a better world- for all of us.
At the root of this desire for change and betterment, I believe, is the soul's longing. People are listening to their inner light. This warms my heart and keeps me optimistic.
Want to know the only way to truly change this planet?!
Align with your soul's purpose, your dharma.
Imagine if everyone on this planet listened to their unique inner call- the call to do their deepest soul's mission here on planet Earth.
Imagine if everyone on this planet, not just listened, but took action- to awaken their inner wisdom.
Imagine if you allowed the light of your soul to truly shine out and through you- brightening the world, giving others permission to do the same.
When you say yes to the reason you were born, your soul's divine purpose, the whole universe rejoices!

Moon in 4th tithi to 5th tithi
Chaturthi to Panchami

Aryaman however brings resources through your long term commitments, providing sustainable results and comfort and support due to your dedication. He especially likes marriage commitments and contracts that bind and unify. Through the process of hard work, you receive the fruits of your efforts. This Week's Intention: Notice the inner swells and find your grounding, your connection to Nature and her wisdom, as well as your connection to spirit. Surrender to the immense fertility being awakened in the environment- enlivened through potential and possibility. Allow the emotional body to move, change, transform and heal you.
The week ahead brings a full Moon in Virgo with a penumbral lunar eclipse. The Vernal equinox has opened the door to spring in the northern hemisphere and the Holi celebrations spark the creative life force energy- inner and outer. Mercury is now debilitated in Pisces and Saturn will go retrograde this week as well. Be gentle with your emotions, mind and body.
Monday, March 21st
Moon in 14th tithi
Just as Monday begins, Moon shifts to Purvaphalguni nakshatra, increasing creativity and life force energy. As the Moon moves through Leo, it is conjunct retrograde Jupiter and Rahu. All three planets receive drishti (gaze) from Venus, Ketu and Saturn. The emotional body is being asked to respond to complex energies. Find ways to ground into the body and spirit in order to awaken from repressed or contracted emotions. Emotional body tides are high now as Moon enters the 14th tithi (phase), nearing complete fullness. Allow your feelings to move through you and attend to your emotional body wisdom with care.
Tuesday, March 22nd
Moon in 15th tithi
As Tuesday begins, the Moon moves to the final phase of the waxing cycle, Purnima- the 15th tithi. Just as the emotional body moves into fullness, it changes into the latter half of the Phalguni constellation, Uttaraphalguni. Aryaman rules this domain and provides creativity, fertility and sustainability for connection, creation and relationship. He's especially associated with the ancestors and sustaining one's lineage through marriage, children and dharma. The Phalguni stars are particularly potent and creative. It is said that even the gods get married during the time of Phalguni- which honor spring, awakening and fertility and celebrations like marriage.
Wednesday, March 23rd
Moon in 15th and 1st tithi
The full Moon is March 23rd at 05:00 PDT while Moon is in Virgo and Uttaraphalguni. This full Moon coincides with a penumbral lunar eclipse, closing the two week eclipse portal that has been invoking challenging shadow work for many. The eclipse begins at 02:39 PDT, with the maximum eclipse being at 04:47 PDT, and ending at 06:54 PDT.
This full Moon marks the closing of the eclipse portal (the two week period between solar and lunar eclipses). It is now a better time to begin new projects, make decisions or start anything important.
Read more about the full Moon + Eclipse in the March Moon Wisdom post.
Thursday, March 24th
Moon in 2nd tithi
The Moon continues through Hasta until late morning. Let Savitr support your awakening and increased light as you begin your day. Recite the Gayatri Mantra for gaining his guidance. As Moon shifts into Chitra, Vishvakarma arrives with an action-oriented agenda. His creativity and the action he puts behind it, can support great strides. He is considered "the divine architect" who created the zodiac.
Friday, March 25th
Moon in 3rd tithi
Saturn goes retrograde in Scorpio at 02:50 am PDT and will be moving in reverse until August 13th, 2016. Retrograde planets act like the nodes Rahu and Ketu, which adds to the intensity of the planet and how they will express themselves. As the slowest moving planet, Saturn causes the most prolonged challenges. It's important to play by his rules and honor his requests for slow, steady action, simplicity and alignment with nature's rhythms.
Saturday, March 26th
Moon in 4th tithi
Moon continues through Libra and Swati nakshatra the majority of the day. Mind your breath, your life force energy, and notice if you are using it intelligently or squandering it. Be in right relationship with your inner life and let this spark increased energy and enthusiasm for living. Seek balance between inner and outer, polarities and conflicts. What parts of your being need resolution and more harmony? Let the breath help you find this union.
Sunday, March 27th
Moon in 5th tithi
Vishaka continues to rule the day, provoking unification and increased harmony within. Challenges are a reminder to make adjustments. Ask for support, call in new resources, gather your team of guidance. Where are you resisting the support you need? Where are your actions out of alignment with your inner knowing? Reach out, connect and receive. You can not thrive without increased support.
Monday, March 28th
Moon in 6th tithi
Moon continues to transit its debilitation sign, Scorpio, while moving through Anuradha nakshatra. Anuradha inspires growth from one's depths, rising from the mud and blossoming into wisdom and beauty- as is symbolized by the lotus flower. This constellation can bring precision and exactness, as well as inspiration and growth.
This Week's Intention: Attend to your four bodies with diligence.
Find the places where you are resisting the light- more support, nourishment and vitality.
Get extra support and guidance for your needs.
Moon is waxing and yet the inward pull continues. Monday begins with two wild planetary shifts as Sun and Mercury both move simultaneously to Scorpio. This leaves only one debilitated planet to contend with. However, the fierce conjunction of Venus, Mars and Rahu continues. Sun and Mercury will no longer be hemmed in by malefics, but they will conjunct Saturn in Scorpio and receive drishti from Ketu. Sensitivity is high in the coming cycle and we will all benefit from extra rest, self care and attention to the four bodies- physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Go slow and don't force.
Late morning on Monday, Moon moves to the latter half of the Ashada constellation, UttaraAshada, and the Vishva Devas arrive to lend their support and assistance. When we align with right action, dharma, Nature aligns to support us with her power and abundance. The All Gods, or Vishva Devas, who rule this nakshatra, remind us of this need. Natural Laws are the supreme laws of the universe and keep us connected to Source, our ultimate alignment with life and spirit. Make you actions count today. Notice where you may be out of integrity- with yourself and spirit. Make the necessary adjustments to get the power you seek. Where is ego pushing you away from Source? What stories in the mind are keeping you from ultimate nourishment and divine connection? With debilitated Sun and Mercury in exact conjunction today, mental body work is necessary. Clean up, purify and burn away illusions and old chitta vrittis, mind stuff. Purify and transform through right relationship with Self and life.
Sun leaves its sign of debilitation where a certain slow, inward climb has been present. The tight conjunction of Sun and Mercury continues as Sun and Mercury leap almost simultaneously into Scorpio on November 16th. Scorpio is known for its depth, deep inner power and passions. The inward focus of the past cycle deepens, clarifies, and transforms in the cycle ahead. The combustion of Sun and Mercury continues through December 6th- when Mercury moves to Sagittarius. With Sun and Mercury continuing to travel in close proximity, the mental body stays hot, focused, critical and oriented towards order and organization. Use this time to gain clarity and attend to finances, old karmas, shadow work and stories from the past. Mental and imaginal realms will be illuminated. What is coming to the light?
Though Sun and Mercury will no longer be hemmed in by malefics, they will conjunct Saturn in Scorpio and receive drishti from Ketu. Sensitivity is high in the coming cycle and we will all benefit from extra rest, self care and attention to the four bodies. Go slow and don't force. This is also a prime opportunity to attend to physical and mental bodies and deepen the mind/body connection. With mental body rigidity and resistance present, use the physical body as a resource for staying in the present, rather than traversing the past. All four bodies- spiritual, mental, emotional and physical- will be extra sensitive in this cycle. Pushing, forcing or fighting this will lead to unnecessary struggles and obstacles. Health issues are a reminder to slow down and listen more deeply. Mental and emotional body struggles are a request to look at parts of yourself that need your attention. Spiritual concerns request deeper surrender and trust. Gather resources and extra support for this cycle and notice where you are resisting or refusing the nourishment you need for safety and support.
Relationships continue to prove insightful and a potent mirror for inner growth and healing. In this cycle it's vital that illusions are clarified, brought to the surface and transformed. Notice where you are staying out of integrity and giving your power away. Focus on inner support and stability rather than mindlessly pleasing, dis-empowering yourself, and deflecting the nourishment you need.
Early afternoon, Moon moves to Capricorn, receiving drishti from Saturn and Rahu. Watch for inner storms.
Late morning Tuesday, Moon shifts to Sravana nakshatra, a constellation of the Moon. Saturn and Rahu give their gaze to the Moon, transiting a Saturn sign, Capricorn. Watch for depression, fear, and anxieties to surface. What is keeping you from feeling safety and security? What action steps need to take place in order to create different possibilities and options for yourself? There's a certain and necessary expansion that needs to take place in order to move forward and receive more nourishment. Where are you resisting and neglecting extra support and guidance? Vishnu gives his dharmic support today. It's time to make different choices, in order for different results. Start noticing where there are holes in your life and where needs are not getting met.
Sun and Mercury travel in tight conjunction today. The mind is focused yet critical. Stay out of the impossible and re-frame for yourself. Be solution oriented.
Wednesday mid morning, Moon moves to Dhanishta nakshatra, the shining star. The support of the Vasu Devas arrive to help increase the light and visibility. Take the dharmic awareness that emerged yesterday and let it inform the action steps you make today. Get focused, clear and align with your desires, passions and possibility. Open and awaken the rigidity and resistance. Find ways into the these parts of yourself and shine the light. Where do you need support? Where are you not showing up for yourself? Where are you playing small and down playing your desires? It's time to start shining brighter.
Wednesday evening, Moon arrives in Aquarius. Saturn and Rahu continue to give their effect as ruling planets of this sign. Moon only receives gaze from Jupiter which can feel extra supportive and nourishing.
Thursday, Moon transits through Aquarius, receiving the softening support of Jupiter and his wisdom-enhancing nourishment. Mid morning, Moon shifts to the often intense nakshatra, Satabisha. Though the critic and its chaos inducing ways may increase with Varuna's all-seeing nature, there is also opportunity here for healing to take place. When we honestly look at our shadow parts, we can transform and awaken them. Today, find opportunities for deepening your listening capacity. Find compassion for yourself and others. Seek guidance and support from healers and therapists- those who can provide resources, guidance and support, transformation and healing. Identify and confront your shadow parts and bring them to the light through wisdom and awareness.
Early morning on Friday, Moon shifts to Purvabhadrapada, a nakshtra ruled by Ajaikapada, a form of Nataraja. Seek balance, movement and transformation today. Take your struggles into your dance. Let your dance be a metaphor for your life process. Step and ground, land and leap. Life is both opening and closing, seeking deeper resiliency in the process. This nakshatra reminds us to find balance within light and dark, happiness and sadness, the full spectrum of our being. We are all of it and how well we integrate and dance with our extremes, our polarities, is actually how we find balance.
Late evening, Moon moves to the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces, joining Ketu here. Both planets receive gaze from Rahu, debilitated Venus and Mars. Be diligent and gentle with all relationships during the coming weekend- including yourself.
Saturday morning, Moon shifts to the last half of the Bhadra constellation, Uttarabhadrapada. Serpent of the deep, Ahirbudhnya, beckons us to traverse our inner netherworlds. Our uncharted territory is enlivened today and requests that we look more deeply at layers we may have neglected. The often unseen and hidden parts of ourselves will be magnified today. Use this as an invitation for looking at your shadows, inner illusions and the parts of yourself that keep you in the dark. The critic is high and intensifies through the weekend. Whether you turn this inward or outward, notice how your critic keeps you from being deeply nourished, supported and feeling safe. How does your critic keep you playing small, rather than stepping into your power? What does your critic need? What is it asking of you? Honor it without it ruling your life.
Just as Sunday begins, Moon shifts to Revati nakshatra, the final constellation of twenty seven. Ruling deity, Pushan, supports and guides us on our path- with nourishment, resources and fruitful harvesting. He likes intention and provides safety and comfort when we honor our steps with diligence and compassion. Endings and release are afoot as Moon moves to the edge of Pisces. What support and guidance can you gather for yourself as you move forward? What resources have you encountered recently? What challenges? How can both inform your action steps and momentum?
Moon crosses the tricky gandanta between Pisces and Aries just before midnight. Surrender to release, loss, endings and letting go. Purge emotions and let grief move through you. Prepare for a new cycle to come by letting the old move out and through you. Moon arrives in Aries and Ashwini nakshatra as Sunday comes to a close. Fresh starts begin the week ahead.
Monday, allow the vulnerability of beginnings settle in as you move through your day. There's a freshness, a vitality, an awakening and enlivening occurring. Calculate your steps and be poignant in your choices. Attend to rejuvenation and revitalization. Awaken and refresh yourself with new actions. Declare your inner power and orient yourself around this core of truth within. Mars gives his gaze to the Moon today. Take the passion into action. If you are feeling anger stir, notice where you need to create healthier boundaries. What does your anger need? Lean in and listen carefully.
*All timing is given in Pacific Standard Time Zone.
This Week's Intention: Allow shifts and changes to take place through potent action steps. Align with your purpose and passions with new conviction.
Move towards your deepest nourishment.
Moon is waxing and enters the seventh tithi (phase) as the seventh day of Navaratri begins. Monday is the first of three dedicated to my favorite goddess, Maha Saraswati. Goddess of nourishment through wisdom, sattva (purity), satya (truth), the arts, creativity and dharma. She provides us with support through knowing and seeking, while giving resources for our efforts. During the early hours of Monday morning, Moon shifts to PurvaAshada nakshatra while in Sagittarius. The water goddess, Apas, arrives to re-fill our cup. Invite in receiving of abundance, creativity, receptivity and emotional body wisdom. As the Navaratri celebrations continue to unfold, deepen you attention and intention during this sacred time. What are you releasing? What are you inviting in? What is arriving? Monday begins the first of three days dedicated to Maha Saraswati. Her wisdom, creative potency and nourishment through spiritual resources can be a powerful guide right now. Use Saraswati mantras to connect with her gifts as well as Chandi Path recitations for support with transformation.
Early morning Tuesday, Moon shifts to the latter half of the Ashada constellation, UttaraAshada, then into Capricorn mid morning. Rahu and Saturn give their gaze, offering shadow and restriction to the emotional body. The Vishva Devas rule this constellation and provide goodness and truth, among other resources of purity. Often called the "all gods," the Vishva Devas connect to universal principles that align us with dharma and the right path. Among these are goodness (Vasu), truth (Satya), determination (Kratu), Talent (Daksha), Time (Kala), Enjoyment (Kama), Firmness (Dhriti), Ancestors (Kuru), Abundance (Pururavas), Joy (Madrava), Pleasantness (Rochana), Sight (Lochana), Fame (Dhvani), Leadership ( Dhuri). There are strong ethics and right-action attributed to this nakshatra and a desire "to do the right thing." Ruling planet of this constellation is the Sun, the light giver for our dharmic path, our purpose for being alive. Sun is now debilitated in Libra and requires are gentle attention and intention at this time. Forcing agendas and outcomes will be met with physical exhaustion. Attend to spiritual desires and the inward pull. As the second day of Navaratri dedicated to Maha Saraswati arrives, it is an ideal time for aligning with dharma and purpose. Invite in deeper nourishment through knowledge and wisdom, creativity and the arts. Use Saraswati mantras to connect with her gifts as well as Chandi Path recitations for support with transformation.
Late evening, Moon shifts to the sacred 28th nakshatra, Abhijit. This is a spiritual portal that can increase divine connection with Source, spirit and Natural Laws. Take time to meditate and set an intention this evening for deeper alignment and nourishment during this Navaratri celebration. This portal stays open only until the first few hours of Wednesday morning.
Wednesday begins with the Moon transiting Abhijit nakshatra, then moving to Sravana after 03:25. Ruling deity, Vishnu, offers his expansive support with knowledge, wisdom, growth and dharmic alignment. Sravana nakshatra provokes a certain element of power and purpose, with a strong propensity for learning and inner growth. As Moon enters the auspicious ninth tithi (phase), wisdom and purpose are strengthened. Listen for insights and resources coming to you. Are you able to receive the support? What are you resisting and pushing away? How are you keeping yourself from being deeply fed in your life? What are the resources? What are the challenges? It is the final day of Navaratri and the last day dedicated to Maha Saraswati. Her guidance and wisdom bring deeper alignment with truth, awakening and divine support. Open and receive her support and nourishment. Use Saraswati mantras to connect with her gifts as well as Chandi Path recitations for support with transformation.
Moon transits the tenth tithi, Dashami on Thursday, guru's day. Dashami is connected to dharma and our path of truth and awakening. Moon transits Dhanishta, the domain of the Vasu Devas who bring light (jyoti), illumination and Dharma to those who align with their potent creative forces of manifestation and creation. Midday, Moon shifts into Aquarius receiving direct gaze from Jupiter, Mars and Venus. Passions stir within the emotional body. Let your creativity flow!
It is Vijaya Dashami, the tenth day of the waxing lunar cycle during the Navaratri celebration. On this day, fierce warrior goddess Durga, defeated the demon Mahishasura. Her transformational energy overcame the darkness, and light conquered the powerful demonic energy with lasting change. This battle of light and dark is at play within each one of us every day. We have choice to align with positive inner forces or dark, destructive forces within. The epic battle reiterated during the Navaratri celebration is a reminder that we too have the power of Durga within us- at all times. Her strength, passion, divine purpose and commitment to life is happening internally for every human being, though often subconscious. We are alive, breathing and able to align with our purpose for being in a human body each and every day. Do you take this on consciously and with right action? Or do you let your dark, demonic forces overcome your light? Are you honoring your deep desires for truth and ultimately your dharma, divine duty? Or do you let fear, uncertainty, resentments and old mental stories keep you from your truth, purpose and path? It is a choice. Make it conscious.
As Venus (god of the asuras, demons) nears exact conjunction with Jupiter (god of the devas, gods), we may feel this battle of light and dark increasing within us. There is an ongoing dance of good vs. evil happening within us every day as we dance with positive, life supporting thoughts, or negative, fear driven thoughts. Be vigilant with self tracking at this time and use resources and tools to consciously navigate this inner dance. Just as Thursday ends, Moon shifts to Satabisha nakshatra.
Friday begins with Moon transiting Satabisha nakshatra in the early morning. Varuna is the ruling deity of this constellation and he provides clarity through vision, as he sees all. This vision can also be deemed a "critical gaze" because he notices all that is right and wrong, often increasing the critic within. Ruling planet Rahu can increase shadow, illusion and intensity. Where can you loosen and let go? What needs to be surrendered so that the fierceness can be dropped? How can you allow healing and transformation instead of rigidity and harshness? Let the light in through gentleness and compassion. Find ways to soften.
Moon moves to PurvaBhadrapada nakshatra just before midnight.
Saturday requires us to take extra rest and attend to the physical body in very conscious ways. As Moon finishes its transit through Aquarius and moves through PurvaBhadrapada nakshatra, a need for inner and out balance develops. Meanwhile, debilitated Sun moves into a new nakshatra in the early hours of the morning. We will notice a shift in our physical and spiritual bodies as a result. As Sun shifts into Swati nakshatra, a new power enlivens. Movement, change and transformation intensifies in the coming weeks. Creative courage through subtle, gentle and nourishing ways should be attended to. Attend to your inner strength and let it be the catalyst for lasting change.
Moon shifts into Pisces, joining Ketu here, early afternoon. Both receive gaze from Rahu, Mercury and Mars. Notice where you are pushing for outcomes in the coming days. What are you forcing? Where can you drop, release and surrender? What nourishment are you resisting? Allow for the change to take place.
Meanwhile, Venus and Jupiter are in exact conjunction today and tomorrow while in Leo. The battle between light and dark continues. Polarities are alive and well right now. Where can you drop your arms and let in more light? Attend to material vs. spiritual matters with diligence. We need both and we need them to be in balance for inner and outer harmony. Notice when and how your masculine energy takes over and keeps you from being nourished by the feminine. Self care will help you return to a sense of feeling and receptivity. Attend to your emotional body wisdom. Pause and listen.
Sunday, day of Sun (Surya) illuminates the wisdom of the Sun, yet its debilitation currently in Libra requests inward reflection. Moon is waxing and in the 13th tithi (phase) today which invites bigger emotions and feelings. How can you invite in slower, gentler steps? Moon transits the latter half of the Bhadrapada constellation today giving us the opportunity for to dive deeply into our inner realms. If we create a solid and safe place to attend to our inner landscape, we can traverse this territory more powerfully. Find ways to land within and make this your intention for the day.
Late afternoon, Moon shifts to Revati nakshatra and the mental body requests attention and deeper nourishment. What energetic cords need to be cut, severed and released for more clarity and receptivity? Where are you still holding on when you should be releasing? What stories is the mental body stuck in and repeating on autopilot? Set yourself free. It's a perfect time to be working with self development resources that help you unravel the mental body programming. Continue this theme through Monday and note where the mind is stuck, resistant and rigid.
