With all the big upheaval and changes that have recently taken place, I'd like to be able to say it's smooth sailing from here on out.
I wish I could say that the transits will be agreeable and offer ease and simplicity for the next few months. That there will be a pause and some gentleness. Unfortunately, the upcoming transits show big changes in the weeks and months ahead, and through 2017. My intention is always to speak the sweet truth, so I will share the challenges here- with some important resources as well. Remember, there are always gifts! It may be more challenging to find them in the coming days, but moving closer to what you are grateful for is a balm for the heart. This is a particularly tumultuous time. Unlike anything I've seen before- because there are multiple layers of challenges impacting us simultaneously. The aggression being stirred in the environment is activating individuals very acutely, and individuals are intensifying the collective energy as well. The churning is extreme right now. In the Vedic literature, demon god, Rahu, was instrumental in the churning of the ocean of milk. The gods realized that by churning the ocean of milk, they could extract some Amrita, the divine nectar of immortality (like churned cream becomes butter). But they couldn't do it alone. They had to employ the support of the demons (asuras) to create the momentum needed. The demons and gods worked together and the Amrita rose to the top, but the asuras ended up stealing it for themselves. The gods fought back and with the support of Vishnu (the sustaining force of dharma) they were able to regain the Amrita. Vishnu gave each one of the gods a drop of the immortal nectar, but Rahu (Svarbhanu) received a drop accidentally. Rahu was positioned in between the Sun and the Moon as he received the nectar, and they recognized him at once. Vishnu chopped Rahu in half with a chakra and thus Rahu (head of the serpent) and Ketu (tail of the serpent) were born. Rahu continues to chase the Sun and Moon out of disdain. The formless entities Rahu and Ketu are representative of the unseen forces at play within all humans. Rahu drives the cravings and the appetite for this material world, while Ketu forces the inevitable release process, severing us from worldly attachments. Right now, this epic "churning" is taking place very acutely- inside of you and on the world stage. You are likely feeling this within mind and emotions directly. But all you have to do is look at what is taking place within our society right now to see how this churning is impacting the world- socially, politically, environmentally, etc. What is activating this dynamic right now is the Kala Sarpa Yoga effects. Sarpa means snake in Sanskrit, which is intensifying the serpent energy in extreme ways right now. Rahu is transiting through Leo and Ketu in Aquarius which is creating highs and lows and activating polarities very elaborately. Once the Kala Sarpa Yoga officially ends on January 20th when Mars shifts into Pisces, there will be some leveling out, but the churning will continue with the impact of Ketu. Read more about Kala Sarpa Yoga's effects. In the coming weeks and months, there will be an increase of Ketu's cutting energy. Ketu is the tail of the serpent who brings release, cutting of attachments and forced letting go. He brings liberation, ultimately, but usually not without pain. He can also show you specifically where there is trauma in your natal chart, as his detachment causes disconnection on multiple levels- physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. On December 9th, Rahu shifts into a Ketu ruled nakshatra, Magha. This nakshatra is considered one of the three gandantas- junction points between water and fire signs. These portals are particularly notorious for creating immense transformation and change. Ketu is currently transiting a Rahu ruled nakshatra, Satabisha. This exchange between Rahu and Ketu will bring to light much of the darkness and deception that seems so illusive right now. Nothing is what it seems. The Sarpa (serpent) energy being activated right now is increasing the extreme highs and lows taking place inner and outer. Things go well and support comes, but then this is taken or it vanishes somehow. All is illusive and in constant change. The shift of Rahu into Magha will activate the ancestors and increase the forced cutting and release process taking place currently. Magha brings magnanimous action and a royal spirit with profound accomplishment and visibility. It's shadow side is excess ego, misuse of masculine power and extreme or aggressive force. As the necessity for being in right-relationship with the masculine energy comes to the surface right now, notice where you are pushing too hard and forcing outcomes. Notice where your ego is controlling you, rather than heart and spirit. Learning the art of detachment and release is an important lesson right now. We are also learning how to integrate extremes and polarities very intimately. Working with the spine very specifically is an important resource right now. Track sensations in your spine and use this as a resource for finding greater stability and support within. As the new Moon in Scorpio arrives, the coming cycle brings an even greater necessity for integration, harmony and balance with your polarities and extremes. Let your spine lead the way as it is the Maha channel of integration for the entire body. As Sarpa (snake) energy continues to activate and intensify in the coming weeks, illusions and deceptions come to the light. Are you willing to look at your own shadows? Your own darkness is being mirrored to you through others- in challenging and confrontational ways right now. Look deeply within and clear away your darkness. Bring it to the light. Let your body and spine support this integration process of merging shadow and light. Stay connected to sensations in the spine. Listen for messages. Ask your spine to speak to you. What do you hear? Track this closely in the coming days. The body has all the wisdom you seek. The theme of forced cutting and release will be amplified as a series of planets march through Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra in the coming weeks and months and through 2017. Mula is a Ketu ruled nakshatra, which is notorious for uprooting and forced releases. We've already experienced Mars and Venus transiting this challenging gandanta recently (the gap between water and fire signs that are particularly connected to untying knots within the psyche). Mercury begins his lengthy passage through Sagittarius on the 28th of November, marching in and out of Mula nakshatra several times between now and February. Sun shifts into Sagittarius next, creating big changes starting December 15th. Then Saturn arrives in Sagittarius for a few months, beginning January 26th. Why do these transits provoke such change and upheaval? Both Mula and Magha are gandanta points which trigger extreme inner turmoil and change. Gandantas are points in the zodiac between water signs and fire signs (Pisces/Aries, Cancer/Leo, Scorpio/Sagittarius). These points are notorious for causing immense upheaval, as deeply rooted knots within your being get released. Both Mula and Magha are nakshatras situated in these powerful gaps that trigger immense change processes to take place. Both nakshatras are also ruled by Ketu, a non planet notorious for sudden release, forced letting go and remarkable changes. His goal is to support your moksha, liberation, to release you from your attachments. Mula nakshatra is ruled by the dark goddess, Nirrti, responsible for adharmic activity- that which is against dharma. She is notorious for causing chaos, calamity and misfortune, while also pulling you from your dharmic path. There is a risk in the coming months of losing your path, getting stuck in the storm of uncertainty, confusion and misalignment. If you find yourself lacking clarity about your life purpose, or confusion seems to increase, it's time to seek support and guidance. Resources, guidance and support will be even more important at this time because it will be so easy to fall into the chaos and confusion that Nirrti provokes. With great diligence however, this can also be a time of strengthening your determination, focus and alignment with dharma. Do not lose hope. Do not get lost in Nirrti's perfect storm. Stay connected and aligned with your dreams, desires, goals and passions. These are important resources to help you honor your dharmic path. This Week's Intention: Deepen your connection with spirit and ritual. Invite in sacred inner attention. Honor silence and watch the mirror of life carefully. Monday arrives with a waning Moon transiting Chitra nakshatra. New Moon is Monday, October 12th at 19:05 CDT while Moon is in Virgo and Chitra Nakshatra. The new Moon arrives on the final day of Pitr Pakshu, a fifteen day celebration that honors the ancestors and increases their presence in our lives. The following day, October 13th, begins the nine day celebration of Navaratri. This is a sacred time of year- a gap between seasons- which is considered a sandhi time. The veil is very thin between realms and we can access our connection to inner wisdom and Nature more easily. The new Moon always encourages a more inward awareness. I encourage you to work with the intention of connecting with spirit and Nature's wisdom at this time, while also inviting in the power of the goddesses- Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. This new Moon is a particularly complex one. As Moon arrives in Virgo, it joins shadow planet Rahu, as well as exalted Mercury and Sun here as well. Powerful depth is available to us, if we choose to navigate our inner terrain consciously. There is opportunity to transform old, mental body stories and bring them to the light for more awareness. A strong yet intimate dance between the mental body and the emotional body surfaces at this time. Wild stories and inner shadows may provoke strong emotional responses. This is a reminder to do personal development work- so that the illusions and imaginal realms can find clarity and more light. Do you stay in the dark or do you transform the darkness into light? The pain, struggles and obstacles are an illusion. Use them for awakening. Moon in Chitra nakshatra at the time of the new Moon invites in potent action steps and support for forward momentum in the coming cycle. Ruling deity Vishvakarma, is the "celestial architect" who loves to build methodically and count his action steps. Use the coming weeks, especially the sacred portal of Navaratri (October 13th to 22nd) to clarify your dharmic intentions. Who and what are you aligning with for greater power, support and nourishment? Cultivate presence with what is working and consciously attend to challenges and obstacles as these are resources in disguise. Ask for support and more connection. Your consistent, methodical action steps will take you far. Tuesday arrives and Moon moves from Chitra to Swati nakshatra late afternoon. The Navaratri festivities are well under way as we usher in the first full day dedicated to goddess Durga. Ruling Deity of Swati nakshatra, Vayu, the wind god, invites in swift movement and change. Whether it's a gentle breeze or huge gusts, winds of change are ushering in transformation. On this first day and night of Navaratri, notice what's arriving. I have noticed that the first three days of Navaratri initiate the changes and transformations we are working with in this release cycle. Often we must confront challenges and obstacles as a result. More nourishment and support is coming, but we can't receive it without this important step. What is arriving? What parts of your personal mythology are showing up as a mirror for you? Let Durga's fierce warrior energy initiate and provoke awareness. Emotionally, we may feel anger, pain, frustration or sadness emerge in the coming days. Physically we may need more rest or silence. Mentally we may need more inward reflection as well as time for meditation. Spiritually, we may need time with nature and to attend to rituals that help us land in deeper presence. Understand that this is a part of the change and transformation process. Where can you land into deeper presence with your needs? As you deepen your intention for this Navaratri celebration, find meaningful rituals for yourself that bring you closer to spirit. Listening to Durga mantras right now is excellent for inviting in her presence. Traditionally, listening to Chandi Path recitations is also encouraged. Moon continues to transit Swati nakshatra on Wednesday until evening when it arrives in Vishaka nakshatra. It is the second day of Navaratri and the second day dedicated to Ma Durga. Recite Durga mantras and listen to Chandi Path recitations for extra support. Today, use connection as a way to transform. Dual gods, Indra and Agni rule over Vishaka and instigate the need for partnership and co-creation. Agni, the ultimate transformational element provides the spark for change. What are you burning and releasing? Allow the strength of Indra to supply you with the strength you need to use the wisdom. Thursday continues with Vishaka's requests. Connect and collaborate, co-create and gain resources through networking and reaching out. What extra support do you need right now? It is the third day of Navaratri and the final of three dedicated to Ma Durga. Continue to use Durga mantras and Chandi Path recitations for extra support with transformation and change. As afternoon arrives, Moon moves into its debilitation sign, Scorpio, joining Saturn here. Notice depression, the need for silence and any grief emerging. Don't push, go slow and allow extra time for activities. Mars gives his drishti as does Ketu. Anger, agitation, frustrations and emotional outbursts may be arriving. How can you attend to your emotional body needs for expression, movement and release? As Moon shifts to Anuradha nakshatra late in the evening, find ways to get extra physical support. Rest, restore and honor your physical body's needs. Listen carefully for messages. Discover how your jyotish chart is the ultimate healing and and awakening resource. Join my Jyotish Basics Class Study Group. Get the Details. Friday carries through themes of a debilitated, aggravated Moon as well as Anuradha's nature. Today is the fourth day of Navaratri and the first of three dedicated to Maha Lakshmi. Recite Lakshmi mantras and listen to Chandi Path recitations for extra support. Let nourishment be a theme for you in the coming days. How can you allow in more nourishment and support for yourself on the four levels of your being- mental, emotional, physical and spiritual? Allow friends to be a resource of support and reach out to those who can walk with you, but not force their agendas upon you. What does support feel like in your body? What body part is a resource for you to befriend right now as a way to deepen your own inner support and stability? Just before midnight Moon shifts to Jyeshtha nakshatra, Indra's domain. Sun is at the very edge of Virgo, preparing to move into its debilitation sign, Sun. Be gentle with body and spirit right now. Go slow and listen carefully. Saturday is the fifth day of Navaratri and the second of three dedicated to Maha Lakshmi. Themes of nourishment, health, vitality and wellness intensify. The waxing Moon transits Indra's nakshatra, Jyeshtha, today. The mental body is activated and enlivened. Mercury, the symbol of our mental body, is currently exalted, conjunct Sun and Rahu. It's an ideal time to be working with shadow and light and the old programming in the mind- that which keeps us from being in the light. Make self development work and self care a strong priority today. Move towards the nourishment. Use Lakshmi mantras and Chandi Path recitations for increasing Lakshmi's abundant support and vitality. Sun shifts to Libra, its debilitation sign, at 11:23 and will be here until November 16th. Our light source will be dimmed and vulnerable in this cycle. It is not a time to push or force actions, outcomes or agendas. Notice where you are forcing, self isolating or staying in the dark. For the majority of the signs, it is a rest cycle and must be treated as such. It's a time for inward introspection and attending to your inner needs. The physical body will require gentleness, extra support and smaller, quieter attention. We will all need to ask for support and gather extra resources at this time. Notice where there are holes in your self care and what is asking for your attention. The gift in this fragile transit is more receptivity. Do you take the time to listen and hear its messages or cut and paste over them with business, force or bypassing? The emotional body will also require extra listening and release during this cycle, so let the physical body be a resource for attending to feelings carefully. Spiritual receptivity will be alive and awakened, but only for those who create the space to hear. Inner work will be potent at this time so call upon extra support and use your resources for transformation, healing and change diligently. Diving within will allow you to increase creativity and life force energy in the coming months. Ingenuity, entrepreneurialism and innovation will be served from meditation, retreats and alone time. The body can get drained and experience burn out more easily at this time. Less is more- on all levels. Go slow and attend to the wisdom moving through you. Work with shadow issues and inner darkness. Honor your steps. Sunday arrives with Moon jumping into Sagittarius. This is a delicate gandanta between water (Scorpio) and fire (Sagittarius). As Moon lands in this Jupiter ruled sign, it arrives in Mula nakshatra. This is a challenging constellation, one that amplifies chaos and calamity. Its ruler, Nirrti, is a dark goddess that pulls one off the path of truth, dharma and purpose. She does it by stripping you of trust and stability, leaving you raw and fragile. Simultaneously there is a lot of spiritual potential in this star. From challenge and obstacles, come great strength, vision and purpose. How do you use your misfortune? Where are the gifts? Are you available to receive? Find your gratitude and walk with it closely today. Notice where you're addicted to your own darkness. It's the sixth day of Navaratri and the final day dedicated to Lakshmi. Use Lakshmi mantras and Chandi Path recitations for increasing nourishment and support. Make self care a priority to increase her health giving potency. During the early hours of Monday morning, Moon shifts to PurvaAshada nakshatra. The water goddess, Apas, arrives to re-fill our cup. Invite in receiving of abundance, creativity, receptivity and emotional body wisdom. As the Navaratri celebrations continue to unfold, deepen you attention and intention during this sacred time. What are you releasing? What are you inviting in? What is arriving? Monday begins the first of three days dedicated to Maha Saraswati. Her wisdom, creative potency and nourishment through spiritual resources can be a powerful guide right now. Use Saraswati mantras to connect with her gifts as well as Chandi Path recitations for support with transformation. * Timing used is Pacific Daylight Time. Need some extra guidance and clarity? I am scheduling November sessions. Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. This Week's Intention: Transform your darkness into light. Use your pain, challenges and suffering to transform and heal. This is a powerful week for the emotional body. As we approach the total lunar eclipse and full Moon, our inner waters are likely feeling the pangs. Remember we are still in the delicate portal between eclipses, the gap, which intensifies our feelings. It can also shadow our experiences and our receptivity. This is not a time for risks or starting new projects, however it is an excellent time to be thoroughly navigating and attending to our darkness, shadows and personal mythology. When the challenges come, it's a reminder to do the necessary inner work for clean up and healing. Retrograde Mercury in Virgo, conjunct Sun and lunar node, Rahu, reminds us to clean up the mental body right now. Your efforts will be supported at this time. Ganesha Chaurthi continues this week until the full Moon, helping to remove obstacles and challenges along our path of awakening. Monday begins with Moon transiting Sagittarius and the first nakshatra of this one-pointed sign, Mula. As the Moon moves through Mula nakshatra, we may face our challenges directly as this constellation brings chaos and tumult from the dark goddess herself, Nirrti. She brings calamity with her, as well as crisis, confusion and destruction of inner power. Her forces are meant to keep one from dharma, a path of truth, power and inner knowing. Her darkness can bring great misery, or great healing. The healing only arrives when we are willing to face our own darkness and use it as a means of transformation, change and awakening. Are you working with the challenges consciously or resisting them? Any force against the challenge will not be a good use of your efforts or energy. Instead, surrender, let go and allow release. Simplify and do less- in order to accomplish more. Evening arrives with Moon shifting into PurvaAshada nakshatra, the domain of Apas, the water goddess. Let the waters flow and allow yourself to be purified. My final *free* Dharma Awakening class is this Saturday the 26th! This is the last time to receive my dharma resources until fall 2016. Discover your dharma and life path through the wisdom of jyotish, embodiment and art therapy. Join the List. Day of Mars, Tuesday, continues with the potency of PurvaAshada, Apas and ruling planet Venus. With Venus still in Cancer, our heart center and emotions are extra sensitive and feelings are stronger. Moon receives drishti from Jupiter which can increase swelling, expansion and excess. This will effect our emotions and spiritual body. Allow the nourishment to fill you up. Let the water within you flow, move and heal. Use creativity, gentle movement and nourishing relationships for extra support today. Let water soothe and clarify you by walking near it, soaking in it, or both. As evening begins, Moon moves to the latter half of the Ashada constellation, UttaraAshada. The Vishvadevas, or all gods, arrive and help us align with truth, purity and wisdom. Invite in the sattva. Wednesday begins and Mercury flavors the day. Moon moves to Capricorn but continues to transit through the domain of the Vishvadevas. Here, our emotional body (Moon) receives drishti from Venus, Saturn, and Rahu. Sun and Rahu are in exact conjunction today. The light within is truly shadowed and darkened. Turn on the light and flip the switch! Shine light on your darkness and transform your shadows! Align with dharma, truth and purity. Where there is darkness, there is an opportunity for more light. Don't stray from your path! Around noon, Moon moves to the sacred 28th nakshatra, Abhijit, which supports deep spiritual awakening and healing. This special portal lasts until just after 19:00. This is an ideal time to set intentions, meditate and say prayers. Align with your truth, purpose and dharma at this time. Let the universe know your desires and take steps to bring them into form. Moon continues through Sravana nakshatra which is Vishnu's domain. A certain expansion and spiritual wisdom is available right now. Listen carefully. Fall equinox is September 23rd when the Sun crosses the celestial equator (an imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator) north to south. Fall equinox occurs at 03:22 CDT and marks shorter days (more darkness) for the northern hemisphere. Longer days (more daylight) will now begin for the southern hemisphere. Thursday continues with Vishnu's expansiveness and wisdom. He is responsible for dharma and aligning with sattva, truth. He is akasha (space) and therefor exists everywhere. Akasha transmits dharma and allows us to hear truth. Traditionally, dharma was passed orally and the ears were the main vehicle for attuning and acquiring dharmic understanding. Sravana nakshatra translates as "hearing, listening, studying and learning". There is a connection to "hearing the teachings" and being receptive enough to follow them with potent action steps. The symbols are an ear, footprints and a trident. Align with your truth, inner power and wisdom today. Let your feelings and intuitive knowing be your guide. Move towards dharma and take action that supports its unfolding. Late afternoon, Moon moves to Dhanishta nakshatra, the domain of the Vasu Devas and Mars. The Vasu Devas bring increased light and shining. Let your light shine! My final *free* Dharma Awakening class is this Saturday the 26th! This is the last time to receive my dharma resources until fall 2016. Discover your dharma and life path through the wisdom of jyotish, embodiment and art therapy. Join the List. Friday shares the divine light of the Vasu Devas as Moon continues to transit Dhanishta nakshatra. In the wee hours of the morning, Moon shifts to Aquarius, receiving direct gaze from Mars and Jupiter, bringing a certain stare of warrior spirit and wisdom from the guru. The Vasu Devas love to sparkle, shine and be seen. Their inner light, or jyoti, insures increased awareness, awakening and inner strength. Power and prosperity go hand in hand and the Vasu Devas bring both. As shine and share your truth, your potency and power increases. Shine your light on your darkness and shadows, step powerfully and courageously towards your truth and life purpose. Early afternoon, Moon shifts to Satabisha nakshatra and Varuna offers his certain intensity. He sees all with his thousand eyes. Align with his desires for truth and the universality of Natural Law and you will gain from his resources. Stray and he will bring punishment through ill health and misfortune. Make truth and integrity your priorities today and attend diligently to your health and wellness. Saturday continues with Varuna's potency. He can offer great healing and transformation, as well as resources and support, when we align with his desires. When Moon transits through his domain, the constellation Satabisha, it's a reminder to pay close attention to our physical body and our overall health. Let your physical body be well nourished and follow Ayurvedic regimens for maximum support from this fierce deity. Late morning Moon moves to PurvaBhadra nakshatra, as it enters the 14th tithi. Ruling deity, Ajaikapda, arrives to help us balance challenge, obstacles and difficulties. The Moon is almost completely full and the swelling tides will be creating challenges, discomfort and excess on the emotional body level. Surf these tides with awareness and intention. Use today as a clean up day. What personal development has been left unattended? What shadow work has been kept in the dark? How are you preparing for the full Moon and lunar eclipse? Now is the time to release and surrender anything that you are gripping to, holding tightly. If it's not serving your deep nourishment, let it go. Moon jumps into Pisces, the final sign of the zodiac, early Sunday morning, joining south node, Ketu here. Both receive drishti from Rahu, retrograde Mercury and Sun. Moon arrives into the 15th and final tithi (phase) of the waxing Moon and our emotional body swells with the high tides. Our Moon cups are full! Late morning, Moon shifts to the latter half of the Bhadrapada constellation, Uttarabhadra. Ahirbudhnya arrives to support our deep awakening and transformation process. As serpent of the deep, dark, hidden territory of our subconscious, he helps us bring our depth to the surface for more light. What are you missing? Dig up your depths and offer it to the light. Full Moon is September 27th at 19:50 PDT while Moon is in Pisces and Uttarabhadrapada Nakshatra. There is a total Lunar Eclipse at the time of this full Moon, which intensifies emotions, feelings and shadows being cast upon our emotional body. This full Moon brings a sense of beginnings, renewal and rejuvenation with it, themes which carry us through the waning Moon cycle. Moon conjuncts south node, Ketu leading up to the full Moon and continues its close proximity afterwards. This encourages cutting away and letting go of what no longer serves us in our emotional body. As Moon passes through Pisces, the final sign of the zodiac, this theme of letting go, endings and release, amplifies. The heart requires expansion and more fluidity, while the mind is tenacious, focused and radical. Blend these two elements and seek more inner harmony. Retrograde Mercury is conjunct Sun and Rahu in Virgo, which gives an opportunity for more light to shine on our darkness and illusions. Do you invite in the light, or continue to stay in the dark? Take the veils off and shine light into the dark corners of your mind. Mars gives his gaze to Moon and Ketu in Pisces at this time, and both receive the penetrating gaze of Rahu, Sun and retrograde Mercury seven houses away. It's a time of radical house-cleaning of mental and emotional bodies. Leave no stone un-turned and be diligent in your release process. Wishing you had the extended version of my Full Moon Details? Purchase my 2015 Moon Wisdom Calendar. This total lunar eclipse marks the ending of the delicate two week gap between eclipses. It is never advised to look at an eclipse directly nor be out while it's occurring. (This particular lunar eclipse will be visible in Europe, South/East Asia, Africa, Much of North America, Much of South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Arctic, Antarctica). Eclipses are a time to meditate, follow spiritual practices, chant and adhere to rest. Leading up to the eclipse, fasting or eating lightly is traditional. It is a time to reflect, turn inward and work consciously with our shadow parts. After all, an eclipse is showing us the shadow on our Sun or Moon qualities quite directly. Monday, mid morning, Moon moves to the final nakshatra of the zodiac, Revati. Ruling deity, Pushan, supports and assists our journey and travels. He brings nourishment and resources for our path, while also requiring attention to sensitivity and digestion. As Moon finishes up another transit through the twelve signs, use today for the necessary clean up and release after the full Moon + lunar eclipse. What are you holding onto that needs to be released on the mental and emotional body levels? *All calculations given are Pacific Daylight Time.
My final *free* Dharma Awakening class is this Saturday the 26th! This is the last time to receive my dharma resources until fall 2016. Discover your dharma and life path through the wisdom of jyotish, embodiment and art therapy. Join the List. Need some extra guidance and clarity? I still have a few October openings. Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. This Week's Intention: Use your inner wisdom and heart's desire to move towards your truth. Awaken, transform, heal, repeat. The solar eclipse of last week ushers in a waxing Moon and multiple planetary changes for the days to come. It's a very exciting week for the transits, with Mars and Sun both changing signs and Mercury going retrograde. These changes bring a separation between the tight conjunction of Mars and Venus, while Sun leaves its own sign for his enemy's sign, Virgo. We are now in a delicate two week period between eclipses that lasts until the total lunar eclipse and full Moon on September 27th. The gap between eclipses is a sacred time where we must be diligent with spiritual matters and notice the messages that arrive. Traditionally, it is not a time to start new ventures or take daring or dangerous actions. It is however a time to reflect, turn inward and work consciously with our shadow parts. After all, an eclipse is showing us the shadow on our Sun or Moon qualities quite directly. Join me for a *free* Dharma Awakening class. Discover your dharma and life path through the wisdom of jyotish, embodiment and art therapy. Join the List. Monday begins with Moon transiting Virgo and Hasta nakshatra, tightly conjunct Mercury as well as Rahu. Ruling deity, Savitr, brings his guiding light and awakenings today. Allow in the light, new realizations and potent connections through thinking and feeling. With Moon, Mercury and Rahu dancing so closely today, the battle between thinking and feeling may be strong. Allow in the feelings of goodness, prosperity and purpose. How can you find balance between the inner forces of mind and emotions? Let the light come in and bring the dawn. It's a new dawn, it's a new day. What are you creating? Mars is at the edge of Cancer in deep sandhi. He's leaving the watery sign of feelings and jumping into the fiery, passionate sign of Leo. Be a warrior of the heart right now and prepare to leap into your passions feet first in the coming cycle. Day of Mars, Tuesday, brings Moon shifting into a Mars ruled nakshatra, Chitra, late morning. This constellation is Vishvakarma's domain, the celestial architect. He loves powerful action, creativity and alignment with the cosmos. He's an artist and craftsman and he supports these endeavors as well as building and planning. Take intentional action steps today that align with your higher purpose, path and creativity. At 08:22 on Tuesday September 15th, Mars makes the leap officially into Leo, joining Jupiter and a sandhi Sun here. All receive drishti from Saturn's stern and focused stare. Mars enjoys the sign Leo and its ruling planet Sun, for their fiery, passionate ways, as well as the great teacher and wisdom giver, Jupiter. Saturn and Mars, however oppose each other energetically. Mars is fast while Saturn is extremely slow. Take this advice into the coming cycle as there will be a desire to push, force and rush, while Saturn will insist on slow, methodical steps for greater balance. If you feel frustrations with your desires, action steps, relationships and creative passions, it is Saturn reminding you to slow down and be more intentional with your actions. He reminds us to stay aligned with the wisdom of Nature. Are you listening? Part of this Mars transit includes another tight conjunction between the warrior energy of Mars and the fluid, creative and feminine, Venus, once again. There is a brief separation as Mars shifts to Leo, but Venus joins him here two weeks later on September 30th. The fiery, passionate and focused warrior planet dances yet again with the creative, relationship planet, Venus, who shares the wisdom of feelings with us. This duo in Leo will increase passions on all levels of life- including creative, artistic, romantic, and relational. Power increases and our drive to achieve passionately, unfolds. Increasing this potent creative, life force energy, as well as a focus on romance and relationships, comes from the shift of Jupiter into Purvaphalguni nakshatra on September 14th. Jupiter's expansive qualities intensify the potency of the Phalguni constellation and their sensual expression. Bhaga brings resources, comforts and the ability to manifest desires into form. Be conscious about what you are creating in your life at this time. Increase your feelings of nourishment, happiness and joy, in order to create more of this in your life. Seek wisdom that brings inner harmony and open your heart to gratitude, passion and allow the romance of life to lift you up. Creativity takes courage, so use your creative powers very intentionally and courageoulsy at this time. Moon moves to Libra, late evening, leaving the influence of the other planets through conjunction or gaze. Allow in the emotional body space over the coming days. Sun is at the very edge of Leo, ready to step into Virgo. Keep your light burning by attending to your body and soul. As Wednesday arrives, Moon continues through Chitra until just before noon. Swati nakshatra gains magnification as Moon enters this nakshatra. Ruling deity Vayu brings swift change, powerful movement and strength. The mind and body will be the forces behind these changes. Are you grounded or lost in flight? Stay grounded and get embodied, rather than getting overpowered by the strong winds of Vayu. He brings change- whether small or large, as well as strength to move mountains. What needs to shift inside, so you can gain the power and strength you need to build your empire? Just before midnight on Wednesday, September 16th at 23: 26, Sun shifts into Virgo, joining Rahu and Mercury here. All receive drishti from Ketu, the re-structuring lightning bolt. Sun is not fond of Virgo and this can cause discomfort for our mind, strategies, connections and communication. His light wants to shine potently and powerfully, at maximum strength, yet Virgo is very specific, overly focused at times and too direct. This can cause mental burn, overwhelm and excess heat in the mental body so be vigilant at this time with your mind. Are you pushing too hard? Are you feeling taxed, overwhelmed or dissatisfied? Virgo's precision and the mental body, may be keeping you from nourishment. Allow in the feelings of light, awakening and new insights to encourage healing and greater support. This transit of Sun can be a powerful opportunity for awakenings, depending on where we put our efforts and energy. Great healing and inner light is possible, if we diligently look at our shadows and courageously attend to our inner struggles. The mind will be telling you one thing, but listen to the heart and its wisdom instead. Go for nourishment, go for healing old wounds, go for your inner gold this time. Halfway through Thursday, day of the guru, Moon shifts into the final nakshatra of Libra, Vishaka. Often described as the "triumphant gateway", the symbol here is a decorated gateway, while Vishaka's translation is "the two branches". Vishaka gives us options, choices and thereby confusion at times. Do you go left or right? Say yes or no? As my guru Maharishi once said, in the market place, "you can choose salt or sugar." Ruling deity, Indragni, reminds us that every path requires support, collaboration and co-creation. Allow yourself to receive support in order to enhance your path. What choice do you make for your potent, powerful life today? Do you choose to honor your gifts, desires, passions and heart wisdom? Do you honor your feelings and their messages of truth? Step onto the path of nourishment, support and inner kindness. Say yes to the sugar and sweetness of your one, precious life. Mercury begins his 22 day retrograde motion at 11:07 on Thursday, the 17th, moving back through his favorite sign, Virgo. The conjunction of Mercury and Rahu during this cycle will effect individuals differently. For some, the confusion of Rahu will undermine the potency of Mercury being well positioned, intensified by Mercury's retrograde motion. Others will experience a massive upswing in finances, connections and creativity. Your ability to resource from your inner strength and power will determine your success during this extra long Virgo transit. What is your relationship with your shadow? Can you tame the beast, call it on its self-deprecation and consciously work with overcoming limiting beliefs? Success will come to those who take the dark and turn it into the light. Your biggest struggles are asking you to rise to the occasion. Turn struggle and challenge into gifts and awakening. This Mercury cycle is extra long and unusual. In many regards it is an offering with extra graces- if we choose to use them as such. Mercury usually makes fairly swift movements, yet his retrograde motion will prolong his dance through his favorite sign. He will retrograde on September 17th, then go direct on October 9th, and finally leave Virgo on the 28th of October. During this back and forth shuffle, he will move in and out of his most potent degree range and also slide in and out of his mulitrikona and own sign degrees. We get a smorgasbord of his support, struggles and potency. An exalted planet shares 100% of his energy, mulitrikona 75% and own sign 50%. Remember that once he retrogrades, at times he will be considered debilitated as he moves back through his exaltation degrees. (Exalted planets in retrograde motion are considered debilitated). This occurs from September 28th to October 9th to be exact. At this time he is closely conjunct Rahu and combust (burnt) from the Sun. Certainly a time to be very diligent with our mental body, our shadow work and our ego. Use this time for conscious self development work and spiritual practices. During this Mercury transit through Virgo, we will all need to pay special attention to our mental body, our imaginal body. Stories, thoughts, ideas and words will be extra strong and powerful as will our creativity and imagination. This is the part of our being that can create magic, or destroy us. Depending on Mercury's placement in your chart and your relationship with him, this could be an extra challenging cycle, or a powerful and creative game-changer. Being on top of your mental/emotional body dynamics will be vital. Today, September 17th, is Ganesh Chaturthi, celebrated birthday of the revered elephant god. The festivities continue for 10 days, ending on the 27th with the Purnima Moon. He is the son of Shiva and Parvati who removes obstacles and challenges on our path of awakening. On the physical body level, his head correlates to our brain and his trunk to our spinal column. These are essential body parts for transcendence and awakening. He is a reminder of spiritual practice, devotion and mental body vigilance- in order for awakening and our greatest obstacles to be removed from our path. Jai Ganesha!! Late morning on Friday, Moon arrives into its debilitation sign, Scorpio, joining planet of grief, Saturn. Mars and Ketu share their drishti as well. This combination contracts the otherwise joyful and harmonizing spirit of the Moon, while also bringing agitations, anger and frustrations to the surface. A certain depression may arrive in the coming days. The emotional body is reminding you to express, awaken and transform your feelings. Have you been closing off, repressing your power, passions and emotional body wisdom? Now is the time to get things moving. As Moon shifts into Anuradha late afternoon, friends, connections and comrades can be powerful allies of support. Let a trustworthy and nourishing relationship in for guidance and listening. Allow yourself to share and be witnessed for your struggles and sorrows. Use your physical body wisdom as a resource for harvesting your emotional body messages. Move, create, express, transform. Stay out of the fine details that limit your broad, expanded awareness. Join me for a *free* Dharma Awakening class. Discover your dharma and life path through the wisdom of jyotish, embodiment and art therapy. Join the List. Saturday continues Anuradha's themes of support and connection. Ruling deity, Mitra, allows success and deep connection to transpire. Are you allowing in the nourishing, supportive assistance? Let the gifts arrive and say yes! Early evening, Moon shifts to Indra's domain, Jyeshtha nakshatra. As king of the devas (gods), Indra is a master and powerful leader. Planetary ruler, Mercury, invites in mastery of the mind and senses. The opportunity for mental body healing comes with Jyestha, but through control and focused, aligned intention. Do you rule your mind or does it rule you? Sunday continues Indra's support and awareness. There is extra sensitivity within this nakshatra, but simultaneously great power. Find mastery with your senses and the illusions they bring. Commit to transforming negative thoughts into powerful, positive ones. Use the shadows and darkness of the mind to awaken you. How are your challenges keeping you in the dark? Let them lead you towards your gifts, your truth and potency. Mid evening, Moon jumps to Sagittarius. This can be a tricky gandanta for any planet- from water to fire. As Moon makes his leap, he arrives into Mula nakshatra, a challenging and tumultuous constellation ruled by the dark goddess herself, Nirrti. Monday begins with the chaos of Nirrti so keep this in mind as you step into your day. Are you working with the challenges consciously or resisting them? Any force against the challenge will not be a good use of your efforts or energy. Instead, surrender, let go and allow release. Simplify and do less- in order to accomplish more. *All calculations given are Pacific Daylight Time. Join me for a *free* Dharma Awakening class. Find ways to broaden and expand your reach. Moon continues to swell and wax as our inner waters amplify with the rising tides. Past the half way mark of the lunar cycle now, Moon moves into the tenth tithi (phase) on Monday. Mercury is now exalted in Virgo, conjunct Rahu. Are you feeling the increase in communication, connection and creativity yet? Sun and Jupiter continue to track each other closely this week. Watch for soul burn and move towards the light. Venus and Mars are also closely conjunct this week in Cancer. Feel your heart wisdom, even if it hurts. The week begins with a debilitated Moon in Scorpio, leaving conjunction with Saturn. Indra rules the day until Moon jumps into Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra Monday afternoon. The day of Moon (Monday) requires that we tend to our sensitivity as well as our senses. Are you being ruled by your wild horses or are you holding the reigns? Once Moon enters Mula nakshatra, attending to our inner wisdom is of the utmost importance. Jupiter's gaze offers extra nourishment and support but Mula's ruling deity, Nirrti, arrives with her chaos, sudden change and calamity. Her dark forces can keep us from aligning with our path and purpose as she is adharmic in nature. Are you seeking resources to align with your higher purpose? Are you a part of the chaos or able to stand in the center of the storm? Resource from the wisdom of the physical body. It's the only thing that will bring you back to the now. Tuesday, Nirrti and her sharp, cutting nature, continue to rule the first part of the day. Underneath her darkness, depth and spirituality can be accessed. Can you feel the other option, or are you caught in the challenge? Just after noon, Moon shifts to a fierce and severe nakshatra, PurvaAshada, and its ruling deity, Apas, brings another type of force with her. Today is yet another opportunity for change and transformation but this one comes with water and arrives through deep cleansing. Let water assist you with this process. Get into water, walk near it, allow the rain- in the form of tears if not from Nature herself. Jupiter and Sun are in exact conjunction. Cleanse your heart and soul! Let wisdom and truth be your power source! Ready to take your creative potential and turn it into a life of thriving?! Don't miss my online Creativity + Embodiment Immersion. Get the Details. Just before noon on Wednesday, Moon shifts to the latter half of the Ashada constellation, UttaraAshada. This star is fixed and stable, allowing nourishing sustainable activities to take hold. The Vishva Devas provide their universal goodness and help us align with the Laws of Nature in dynamic and powerful ways. Align with dharma, truth and positivity. Use gratitude to soften the heart. Shine, share and be seen for your purity and do good deeds. Early evening, Moon jumps to the hard working and tenacious, Capricorn. Saturn, Rahu, Mars and Venus give their gaze to the soft and tender Moon. Allow time to land and be with your feeling body. Work to soften your hard edges over the next few days. Early Thursday morning, Moon moves to a sacred constellation that is gently tucked in between UttaraAshada and Sravana nakshatra. This little known 28th nakshatra is called Abhijit and only covers about four degrees. This is a good time for prayer, meditation, setting intentions and being close to spirit. This time period will be from about 04:30 to 10:30, just before Moon shifts to Sravana nakshatra. Sravana nakshatra and its ruling deity, Vishnu, helps us align with the expansive forces of the universe. His purpose is to move us towards dharma and help us hear the wisdom being whispered in our ear from heaven, to the cosmos and back to earth. Listen carefully today and let your desires be known. Align your steps with life purpose and inner power. Jupiter and Sun are still tightly conjunct. Tend to your inner wisdom and let the power of the Sun burn away the impurities within you. If you're feeling the discomfort, open and awaken through gratitude and keep your body cool with Pitta pacifying foods and actions. Midmorning Friday, Moon shifts to Dhanishta nakshatra and the Vasu Devas bring us increased light or Jyoti. Sharing from your heart will prove the most valuable resource today. Be soft, focused and let the power of your heart wisdom be your spokesperson. Align and shine! Express, share and give your positive message to the world. What words of wisdom can you offer your tribe? Early evening Moon shifts to Saturn's other sign, Aquarius, where it receives the hot gaze Jupiter, Sun and Mars. Moon also moves into the 15th and final tithi (phase) at this time. Stay focused but don't get burned out or fried in the process. Are you pushing too hard? As Mercury closely conjuncts Rahu the mental body also intensifies. Shadow or strength? Illusion or awakening? The mental and emotional bodies are extra powerful right now- watch how you use them. Before sunrise on Saturday, Moon arrives into Satabisha nakshatra, Varuna's domain. Our health and wellness becomes a top priority during this high tide time. Full Moon is Saturday, August 29th at 11:34 Pacific Time. Moon is in Aquarius and Satabisha Nakshatra. Healing arrives with this full Moon, yet comes with a certain edge and harshness simultaneously. Satabisha nakshatra is ruled by Varuna, the guardian of Natural Law and right action. Nothing gets past his thousands of eyes that see everything. Satabisha can help us work with boundaries and our resistance. What is your relationship with inner and outer boundaries- physical and energetic? Let this full Moon be one of intentional healing- especially for the mental body. Get resourced, nourished and attend to self care diligently. Use this wisdom to guide you through the coming waning cycle. Attend and attune to sacred healing. Want the extended version of my New Moon Wisdom? Purchase my 2015 Moon Wisdom Calendar for extra cosmic insights. Get It. The close conjunction of exalted Mercury and Rahu continues. Attend to your mental body and be diligent with its stories, messages, memories and imaginal realms. Are you feeding it or aligning with its magical support? Using its amplification for change and healing or letting it run wild with you through illusion and delusion? Self track and get on top of it. In the early hours of Sunday morning, Moon arrives in the light and graceful nakshatra, Purvabhadra. Ajaikapada is the ruling deity, who helps us balance seemingly impossible tasks with ease and steadiness. Often he is referred to as a form of Shiva, Lord of the Dance. He steps between worlds, realms and dimensions, sharing depth, strength and purpose when he arrives. Let the wisdom come too, but let it enter from the body. What can your body-mind tell you about grounding and landing in the now? Before you jump forward, into the next cycle, day or moment, stop here, be present, be in the now. Use your feet to help you land and find your anchor. Moon shifts to Pisces early evening, joining Ketu. Both receive the intense mental body gaze of Mercury and Rahu. Find your release, letting go and deepen your surrender. Mars and Venus are closely conjunct right now. Soften to your heart wisdom and allow deep release. Tears and emotional body waves are a necessary part of this process. Let them out. Just before midnight, Moon shifts to the latter half of the Bhadrapada constellation, Uttarabhadra. Ruling deity, Ahirbudhnya, serpent of the netherworlds, helps us access our hidden, inner wisdom. It's there, can you find it? It's the hidden, dark and mysterious kind. It will come in flashes- suddenly provoking insight and shifts in perception. If your third eye is closed, you'll miss it. Let Monday continue to offer its awakening support. Keep looking and you'll find what you are seeking. *Timing used is Pacific Standard Time Zone. Ready to take your creative potential and turn it into a life of thriving?!
