Moon is waning and is new on Saturday morning while in Scorpio. Let this week inform your emptying, your release, your letting go. These themes are alive and well right now as we have Venus, Sun and Saturn now in Scorpio. Monday, November 17th Today's Intention: Open and close the doors of your being with great intention. Moon moves to Virgo at 01:39 am CST, joining Rahu here and getting direct aspect from Ketu; he is still transiting Uttaraphalguni. Aryaman continues to rule our day bringing with him an extra dose of Sun as well. He rules the second half of the Phalguni stars and helps us with sustaining creativity, fertility and co-creation. Aryaman is connected to the ancestors, to lineage and to that which sustains and nourishes in a lasting way; as steady stream of creative intelligence. The next few days bring a certain intensity to our healing process. As Moon gets closer to Rahu, our emotional body connects deeply with our shadow self. Do we dance with these dark tides? Or do we get tossed around by them like a ship at sea? With three planets in Scorpio now, our depth, our shadow, and our darkness provides us with opportunity. Opportunity for growth and change, or opportunity for suffering and challenge. If you are going for change, navigate your ship by confronting what is. Pull from your depths and ask your shadow to share its gifts with you. Use your creative currents to help you navigate these waters. A three level check in will help with the identification process. Moon transits into Hasta nakshatra at 21:30, joining Rahu here in this nakshatra. Bring on the dance of shadow and light! Recite the Gayatri Mantra for awakening the magic and use your hands to activate and enliven your creative channels. Tuesday, November 18th Today's Intention: Step towards your darkness and ask it to share its gifts with you. Saturn and Sun are in exact conjunction at 02:34 am CST. As I've been mentioning in my recent posts, this is an important time of embodiment and harvesting from the wisdom of the body. The cosmos are inviting us right now to honor and deeply listen to the wisdom of the body. Are you ready to listen? Saturn and Sun's conjunction is an expression of this need to harvest from our inner resources. Saturn is the structure of the physical body, while Sun is the illumination of our soul. Frustrations arise with this combination when we resist, push too hard and force ourselves. Saturn and Sun conjunction can share with us the experience of ultimate burnout. Now is an excellent time to work with embodiment techniques, work with the now, resourcing from the needs of the physical body moment to moment. Here is some help for your process. Moon continues to dance through Hasta nakshatra, nearing exact conjunction with Rahu today. My suggestions from yesterday still prevail. How you choose to work with your shadow matters immensely. Rahu is our inner darkness, our demons (asura energy). He brings us our suffering, our illusion, our pains, our weaknesses and greatest challenges. Do you choose to negate this- or invite it in for deeper awareness? What can your own darkness tell you about your light? What gifts are lurking in your shadows? Let Savitr, the deity of our own dawning, and Hasta's ruler, help you bring in greater awareness today. Your courageous actions steps will be rewarded. Moon and Rahu are in exact conjunction at 23:08 CST. Moon moves into Chitra nakshatra at 23:29 CST. Wednesday, November 19th Today's Intention: Transform through creative activation and creative action steps. What transformation can you make today through creative activation, creative action steps? Moon has crossed over Rahu now, and has entered into Chitra nakshatra. This enlivens Vishvakarma and the planet Mars, the planet of karma yoga. As his name suggests, Vishvakarma is a deity of creative action. He is considered the cosmic architect, creative beyond measure. The awakenings that were enlivened yesterday, are now given an opportunity to shift and change through our action steps. Creativity is an ideal channel to move our hindrances, our blockages, that which is keeping us from our channels of light and inner light resources. The alchemical and transformational changes possible through creative acts have been well researched and documented. Are you using the arts as a resource for your healing? Here's why I mix jyotish and the arts in order for maximum awakening. Moon moves into Libra today at 12:15 CST, joining Mercury here. Sun moves into Anuradha nakshatra today at 13:26 CST, and Mitra helps us illuminate details, connections, and nourishment through our friends and support systems. These may be the missing pieces we need to fully integrate our changes and transformations. Let Mitra support you in the coming days and attract what you need for nourishment, support and greater connection. As Anuradha is ruled by Saturn, the physical body is an excellent resource for finding greater inner support and stability. Work with your physical structure as a tool of insight and awareness. Embodiment is a crucial resource as a result. With Venus in Anuradha right now as well (both conjunct Saturn in Scorpio), creativity and embodiment work are an ideal combination for gaining deep and meaningful insights. This is an ideal time for putting the pieces together by using the body and the arts. Thursday, November 20th Today's Intention: Move with your powerful internal winds, and harness your greatness. Sun begins to move away from close conjunction with Saturn but our diligence is still required with caring for our body, reducing burn out and resourcing with radical self care. Moon and Mercury are both in Libra right now and Mercury is in the same degree as Rahu and Ketu today, so additionally the mental body may be feeling frazzled and shadowed, worn down and worn out. This is yet another reminder to be caring for ourselves properly right now. Extra self care is essential. Be sure to use a three level check in to help you identify your needs. Moon moves to Swati nakshatra at 00:52 am CST, inviting in Vayu, the wind god, and a layer of Rahu into our day. Prana becomes an essential resource today. Let your internal winds dictate your needs. Work with the breath, not against it. Moon moves to the 14th tithi, or Moon phase. As the Moon continues to wane, nearing complete emptiness on Saturday, we continue to work with the theme of release and letting go, each in our own way. Today might be an ideal time to focus on your exhale, your out breath. Is your release complete? Here's a simple breath exercise to work with today: Inhale. What am I inviting into my body, my life? Exhale. What am I releasing from my body, my life? Friday, November 21st Today's Intention: We all have to serve somebody. Moon moves into Vishaka nakshatra at 01:34 am CST and the dual god Indragni as well as Jupiter enliven in order to share their gifts with us. Moon enters the final phase of its waning cycle today, the 15th tithi. Moon conjuncts Mercury today, so paying special attention to our mental and emotional body's today will be important. How do they inform each other? Self track and notice your dance between mental body and emotional body. How are they dancing with each other and what is your physical response to each of them? Indra and Agni combine in Vishaka nakshatra to help us learn how to co-create, join forces in order to strengthen ourselves, and to master community and interrelating. "Two is better than one" exemplifies Vishaka's nature. There is a dual nature here, which helps us examine the mirror, the other, in our lives. It helps us look at our polarities and the many different personas and masks we work with. What is your split personality? Your twin or alter ego? This is another one of your dances to be aware of today. Moon moves to Scorpio at 19:41 CST, joining Saturn, Sun and Venus there. All four planets receive drishti from Ketu and Jupiter. Moon is in exact degrees with Saturn as the day ends. Pay special attention to getting rest, tending to your physical and emotional needs tonight. Saturday, November 22nd Today's Intention: Start putting the pieces of your heart back to together. Moon moves to Anuradha nakshatra at 01:39 CST, inviting in Mitra and Saturn to our day. Sun and Venus have already moved to Anuradha, but Saturn in in Vishaka still. With Four planets in Scorpio right now, transformations and depth are part of our experience, carrying us through the coming waxing Moon cycle. New Moon is at 06:32 am CST in Scorpio and Anuradha nakshatra. This new Moon invites in a certain mystical element, one that invites us to go into our depths and harvest our inner riches. But don't be surprised if you discover shadows instead of light, as this is the gift of Scorpio, the 8th house, and its ability to transform our beings. Read more about this new Moon and the coming waxing cycle, as well as a special Creative Ritual to help you work with your depth and presence. With multiple layers of Mitra influencing us today, fine detail becomes our theme. Mitra is a deity that rules precision, exactness, focus and detail, while also being considered the "friendly star". This soft, mild and gentle star, allows us to probe into the details of our being, contemplate, honor and acquire the details we need to tend to our heart, and our emotional body wisdom. Today can help us put pieces together, to help make sense of the nonsensical, to attend and tend to our brokenness- an illusion of the shadow. Make your emotional body and physical embodiment your priority today and harvest from the wisdom of your own knowing. Mars moves to UttarAshada at 16:47 CST, shifting our recent focus from sensing and feeling and taking action steps based on this ability, and into a focus on doing right and righteous action steps. The coming two weeks will provide us with a certain tenacity to achieve dreams, goals and desires. It will be through our action steps, our courage and our bravery though that we get the job done. A gentle reminder to not push too hard, to overdo your actions, and not to force outcomes. The motto of UttarAshada and the Vishvadevas, however is "some people have dreams, and others stay awake to make them happen." If you don't like your job, your relationships, or the direction your life is heading, remember that you are the only one who can change it. Now is the time like never before. Ask the Vishva Devas for their assistance. Sunday, November 23rd Today's Intention: Dance with your senses and let them bring your awakening. Moon hops into Jyeshtha nakshatra at 01:12 am CST, and Indra, the king of the devas, emerges into our day. The strength of Indra is expressed in his rulership of the rain, as he is the rain god, a most powerful force. Rain is essential for life, however, too much of a good thing can be harmful. On the human body level, Indra rules the prana running through our us, giving us our life force. He also rules our senses. The senses are powerful forces of being, of experiencing and of listening. Though a certain level of control is important to use with our senses, our main job should be working with them, not against them. Honoring the senses and deeply listening to their messages can truly bring awakening. Rooted in the senses is our animal awareness, the gift of our humanness. Do we listen to these gifts or negate, suppress and dishonor them? Let your senses be guides for you, just learn how to assist your guidance system effectively. Today is an excellent time for a 3 level check in and some somatic work. Meditation can be helpful to get the mental body in check. Dive into your being and harness your greatness. A three level check in will help with the identification process. Need ome extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Moon is waning this week with two planetary transits happening. Venus moves into Scorpio on Tuesday and the Sun follows on Sunday. This begins our focus on Scorpio in the coming weeks as we work directly with transformation- from the inside out.
Monday, November 10th Today's Intention: Roar like you've never roared before! Moon moves to Ardra nakshatra at 03:58 am CST, inviting in Rudra and Rahu into our day. Moon receives direct gaze from Mars, increasing the emotional intensity available with Ardra. The morning, and our week, start off with a bang! Rudra brings immense power and strength with him and when he combines with the Moon, this can bring immense emotional currents. This is why Ardra is connected to anger and the ferocity that anger offers us. (Anger is like a big wave, not like a ripple on the water.) Anger is an exceptional gift if used properly. When used improperly, it is a mental body dysfunction. When our anger is resourced from our emotional body wisdom, our sensing, it can be used as a tool of activation, motivation and power. It can be a dharmic gift, a 3rd chakra oriented self empowerment tool. How do you find the gift in anger? Look at the needs it is sharing with you. That need can be a huge source of awakening for you. It takes willingness, action steps and courage to go into the depth of your needs and use them as a personal development resource. Your anger can get you there and Rudra can make this happen. Charge forward today and roar loudly! Tuesday, November 11th Today's Intention: Let the depth of MA, wrap you in her arms. Love is the only answer you need. Moon moves into Punarvasu nakshatra at 05:27 am CST, and Aditi steps into our day with an extra level of Jupiter. Aditi brings expanded awareness to us, a universal consciousness, and helps us see the bigger picture in our lives. Through her expansiveness, we learn and grow. Once we get out of the small, isolated focus that often consumes our humanness, we can go beyond the small self, into a larger, grander sense of being. Aditi brings us resources for our expansion- whether it's through knowledge, wealth, or other types of assistance. She is the Mother of all goodness and brings us support when we need it. Think of her like the benevolent mother that we all need. Think of her as your silver lining, the gift within you that is waiting to be opened. What is beyond your struggle, your resistance, your excessive drive and desires? What is the gift hidden in your shadows? What is your true need? Go there and look for the motherly love, the nourishment that is waiting for you like a balm for the heart. Venus moves to Scorpio at 19:14 CST, joining Saturn there. This marks the beginning of several weeks where there will be a stacking of planets in Scorpio. This is a transformational time period, starting with the transformation of our creativity, passion, desires and relationships via Venus. What do you need to pull up from your depths in order to create more lasting change in your life? What needs transcendence in your relationships? What patterns are old, outworn and need to be transformed once and for all? As Venus connects with Saturn here, the ultimate new container is created for our capacity to love and be loved, to create and be intensely creative. What are you creating in your life and how do you want it to look? Dream big, dream deep. Wednesday, November 12th Today's Intention: Your emotional body wisdom is the key to unlock the mystery of your mind. Moon jumps into its own sign Cancer at 00:58 am CST. Moon joins exalted Jupiter here which gives a softness, expansion and knowledgeable connection to the Moon and our emotional body. Both receive drishti from Mars and Ketu, which brings fire and sparks to the emotional body and our learning capacity today. Learn, grow and expand from your felt senses. What can your agitation, annoyances and irritations teach you about your needs? How can you bring a bit more fire into your self awareness, self expansion? As Moon moves into Pushya nakshatra at 07:33 am CST, nourishment becomes our ultimate desire and motivation. Knowledge, wisdom and growth becomes our driving force today as Brihaspati (Jupiter personified) rules over Pushya. He is responsible for helping our good thoughts (devis) win and overcome the bad thoughts (asuras or demons). Our work with light overcoming our darkness is maximized today. Today, dance with your shadows intentionally and look behind the curtain. Let the emotional body and your heart wisdom spark depth and insights for you. Have you done a 3 level check in recently? Pause and check in. Thursday, November 13th Today’s Intention: The mind is a diamond in the rough. Keep polishing it, but don’t get too attached to it. Moon moves into Ashlesha nakshatra at 10:08 am CST, and Sarpa rules our day. Sarpa is a small serpent, connected to Rahu, our shadow self. Ashlesha is also ruled by the planet Mercury, our mental body. It’s a nakshatra where the shadow and our mind merge and co-create. Today, remember to rule your mind, rather than letting your mind rule you. Be a master of your mental body and you will gain access to profound insights and the gems of your existence- from a level of understanding. This is only one level of life, though. The purpose of mastering the mind is so you can lose it. Want a shortcut? Get embodied! Friday, November 14th Today’s Intention: The wisdom of the body holds all the resources you need for awakening. Moon conjuncts Jupiter mid morning, expanding our emotional body capacity; our ability to sense and feel. Use this as a time to tune into your senses and instincts more acutely. With Sun at the edge of Libra, and Saturn still getting accustomed to Scorpio, it’s an ideal time to get embodied and to get gentle somatic guidance. Take your questions into movement exploration and a creative ritual, then listen for your answers to come from your subtle depths. If you haven’t used my creative ritual yet for the waning Moon, this is an ideal time. Venus moves into Anuradha at 11:00 am CST and Mitra helps guide our friendships and relationships now for the coming ten days. Mitra is into fine detail, camaraderie and eloquent speech. He likes kindness, connection and doting on those he loves. Use this time to solidify relationships through the softness of Anuradha. Stay out his critical overly-detail oriented downside. This critical lens is what can close down the heart chakra in our relationships. Zoom out for more heart expansion. It’s a fine time to get detail oriented with the physical body and its needs however. Just don’t get lost in these details. As Moon transitions into Leo and Magha nakshatra at 13:04 CST, an abrupt shift takes place. Moon receives drishti from Saturn, but Magha invites in the deity Pitr and a dash of Ketu for our day. Sparks of imagination, awareness and insight may arrive. Let your body be the tuning fork as you listen for clues and seek pieces of your inner puzzle. Likely you will gain insights about your polarities if you are listening carefully. Your shadow and light. Your willingness and your resistance. Saturday, November 15th Today's Intention: Put down some roots! Dance them into the ground! Magha stays with us the majority of the day and Pitr guides us as well as Ketu. Confidence and courage may be enlivened, or an overdose of ego. Wisdom of flashes of insight may be lurking in the shadows if you're willing to boldly go into your setbacks, disappointments and illusions. Don't let the mind play its tricks on you. When in doubt, ask the ancestors for their assistance. Rahu jumps into Hasta nakshatra at 13:31 CST, and brings us a new opportunity to work with our shadows over the next 8.5 months. Hasta is ruled by Savitr, the god of the dawn. Dawn is neither day, nor night, yet a sacred time of awakening, of beginnings, possibilities. It is vulnerable, yet immensely powerful in this vulnerability. The crack of dawn that Savitr rules is our most potent moment of change, transformation, and realization. With our shadow (Rahu) moving into Savitr's domain for the coming 8.5 months, we enter a sacred and formidable time period that can truly activate and instigate lasting change, from our depths. Working directly with our shadow and allowing it to teach us our greatest needs, yearnings and desires can offer a crucial link for our psycho-spiritual awakening. Our shadow afterall is the gift of our incarnation, our reason for being alive in this body, on the earth plane. If we aren't using our darkness for awakening, we lose our purpose. This life then becomes futile, wasted, and lacks evolutionary depth. This is a powerful cosmic opportunity. Use it. Ask your shadows, your pains, your misery, sadness and heart aches for insights. The shadow can remind you why you are alive, what you have to share with others, what you need out of this one precious life. With courage, you will no doubt harvest some extremely powerful answers as to why you are alive. Use the Gayatri Mantra to assist your awakenings in the coming months. “The breezes at dawn have secrets to tell you Don't go back to sleep! You must ask for what you really want. Don't go back to sleep! People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch, The door is round and open Don't go back to sleep!” -Rumi As Moon transitions into Purvaphalguni at 16:06 CST, our creativity and fertility are enlivened. Pull from your depths and use your inner mysteries and questions for dancing, exploring and excavating. What is your biggest question right now? Take it into your dancing, singing, painting and let the answers come. Plant seeds today- for your greatness, for your courage, for your self-empowerment. Let the body be a resource for this anchoring. Let the pelvis help you with this. Sunday, November 16th Today's Intention: Let waves of creativity wash over you and through you. Sun slips into Scorpio at 06:07 am CST, joining Saturn, and Venus there. These three planets receive drishti (gaze) from exalted Jupiter, and Ketu. This transit marks the beginning of a very transformational month for us. One that calls upon us to dig from our depths, to transform our darkness and illuminate our shadows, our vulnerabilities. (See above for more of this theme as Rahu has just moved into Hasta nakshatra). Sun brings the light, but Scorpio represents our depth and our darkness. The degree of our growth and transformation will be based on our willingness, our courage and our actions steps. Step towards your shadow, not away from it, in the coming weeks. Look at the Sun and let the shadow fall behind you. Dance in the light, while watching your shadow self move with you. They are one and the same and inform your movements, steps and transformation. Invite in your whole Self. The majority of our day is connected to Purvaphalguni and Bhaga which connects us to our sensuality, sexuality and relationships. This is a star of fertility, creativity and connectivity. A star of relation and co-creation. Use this energy to inspire activation, to clear and purge stagnant energy- especially that which is stuck in your pelvis, your creative energy center. Let my Creative Ritual for the waning Moon help you with this. Let the pelvis help you with thi Moon moves to Uttaraphalguni at 18:58 CST, and Aryaman steps into our evening with an extra dose of Sun as well. He rules the second half of the Phalguni stars and helps us with sustaining creativity, fertility and co-creation. Aryaman is connected to the ancestors, to lineage and to that which sustains and nourishes in a lasting way; as steady stream of creative intelligence. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Thank you Saturn in Scorpio: The Depth of Our Transformation Saturn is a powerful planet, one that dishes up our karmas to us- but not on a silver platter. He is our greatest suffering and sorrows, but ultimately our enlightenment. He moves slowly and methodically, taking 2.5 years to move through each sign. What Saturn offers us is the depth of our being, our humanness, whether through experiencing the human form, the physical body, or through the reactions of our actions. Life might be easier without him, but it would truly lack depth, lessons learned, and the necessity for consistent effort which is necessary for us to grow and evolve. As per my article, Ripening Slowly with Saturn: "Saturn brings both the blessings and the curses of life- as he gives his wisdom only through the slow ripening of time, effort, suffering, loss and age. It takes time to learn the deepest, hardest and most important wisdom of life. This wisdom has to be worked for and requires effort to receive. Thus, Saturn pays us in enlightenment for the work, effort, steady actions, that we make over a long period of time. If we don't adhere to his rules for wisdom, he will make us suffer the consequences." Saturn is worth studying, working with, not against. Being very familiar with his ways is vital for life and living. This will cause less suffering, less misery, fewer health issues, and less depression and despondency. For on the other side of suffering is great alliance with Nature and her wisdom, as well as the sacred Laws of the Universe. This is one of the gifts that Saturn grants us when we are in alignment with Source. As Saturn moves into Scorpio on November 2nd 2014, our deepest transformations have the opportunity to take place. These aren't the easy kinds of transformations though. They won't be on the surface, but will be from our very old, unconscious existence. Our transformations will be on the level of old karmas, past vows, ancestral ties and lineage bonds. The changes we make over the next 2.5 years will depend on our willingness to change, to open to our shadows, our darkness and weaknesses. Scorpio does not pertain to frivolity, but instead to our core principles and beliefs, our hidden and mysterious senses, and to the magic and secrecy of existence. Because Scorpio is directly connected to the eighth house and all meanings of the eighth house, it requires an understanding of both Scorpio and 8th house matters. My How to Love A Scorpio article illustrates this double meaning well: "On the positive spectrum of things, the 8th house is linked to transformations and transcendence, as well as mystical and occult knowledge and of course our sexual nature. When life gets tough, we naturally get tougher; which is the essence of the eighth house. It forces us to surrender. To disarm and let go. We scream "uncle!" at the top of our lungs and wait in our self made prison for relief to arrive. And if it arrives, we are determined to change, re-direct ourselves, to rise above and out of the trenches. The eight house is indeed hidden, unseen, and thus relates to the unseen and hidden realms- both internally and externally. Our pain after all is solely connected to our shadows. A Scorpio is determined to shed its shadowed self which is why Ketu (the "planet" of liberation and moksha) is considered exalted here." Not everyone is as familiar with their 8th house and their Scorpio nature as they need to be. Not everyone is willing to look intimately at their shadows and darkness in order to bring greater light to it. Not everyone is determined to transform and transcend. For those that are, this Saturn and Scorpio cycle will be much easier, much more helpful. Your willingness will determine how you emerge from this Saturn cycle in 2.5 years. Scorpio is the sign that the Moon is considered debilitated in. Moon is our emotional body, our sensitivity, our receptivity, creativity, and our ability to change, re-direct and re-generate ourselves. Moon in Scorpio heightens the sensitivity of the emotional body and forces us to address its needs, our emotional messages and patterns. This will be a potent cycle for our emotional body, gaining more wisdom from its messages, and moving into greater alignment with our emotional wisdom. With Jupiter exalted in Cancer for the first nine months of this transit, we get a heightened dose of emotional body messaging and perhaps a greater ability to listen, act and change as a result. Jupiter is the planet of wisdom and is exalted in Cancer, which directly connects to our heart center and our emotional body; he's here until mid 2015. The wisdom we have access to at the beginning of this Saturn in Scorpio transit- as a result of exalted Jupiter- has the ability to carry us through the remainder of of this 2.5 year transit. So diligently listen to the emotional body messages being offered to you until July of 2015. Read more about Jupiter in Cancer. As with any growth in our lives, it is directly determined by how much space we create for the newness to enter. Since Scorpio and the 8th house have to do with losses, letting go, deaths and release, our ability and willingness to let go, release and remove what is not serving our highest Self, will determine what we can later invite in and allow into our lives for increased fulfillment and joy. If there's no space for the new to enter, you won't be able to receive. Again, the greater your willingness to let go, change and transform, the greater your ability to invite in new possibilities for yourself. The depth of your transformation for this cycle is directly connected to your resistance to change and release, as is the amount of suffering you will experience. Those who embrace the changes that are coming for them will have an easier time than those who resist the changes. Saturn is a non-negotiable planet, his agenda rules. However, we do have some options about how much we choose to suffer- which is largely based on our resistance to it. Less resistance to suffering, equals less suffering. This is yet another reminder to get very intimate with your emotions, to cultivate a deeper relationship with them, to invite in the feeling level of your life in new ways. Cultivating presence, compassion and creating a safe container for your emotional expression is vital. For those of us who are extra sensitive, this Saturn cycle will likely increase our sensitivity, so be mindful of your needs and self care. Not sure if you're sensitive? Read this. Need more resources for befriending your emotions? Here are some tips. None of this is meant to scare you, but as a double Scorpio myself, and one that has lived to tell the tale of Scorpio transiting through my own 8th house (and currently going through another sade sati) I can tell you that this transit demands your attention and intention. For those who have been floating by, resisting their biggest life lessons, this transit will not allow you to stay in ignorance any longer. The depth that every Scorpio knows so well, will usher in an increase of depth and awareness for the world that has not yet been seen before. We will each get a new look at our darkness and receive opportunities to transform our shadows. Get your flashlights out! Looking at The Next 2.5 Years Ahead Saturn shifts into Scorpio officially on November 2nd 2014, however we may notice shifts well before this. Once Saturn shifts into its sandhi placement (the gap between Libra and Scorpio at just over 28 degrees) the portal opens and the "Saturn in Scorpio" experience is ushered in. This opening begins on October 15th. Once Saturn officially arrives into Scorpio, it will still be in young degrees until it is beyond the 2 degree range (around November 19th). This is considered a delicate time, but also potent. Be diligent with your embodiment work at this time and seek intuitive wisdom. Felt senses will be higher at this time, as well as sensitivity in general. Be mindful of self care and be sure to take time for deep listening and presence with your emotional body wisdom. Use the 3 level check in to harness this wisdom. As I mentioned above, for the first nine months of this transit, Jupiter is also exalted, which increases our ability to access emotional body wisdom and awakening through Jupiter's energy. With Jupiter giving his gaze (drishti) to Saturn, we get greater balance, increased harmony and insights from the softer more gentile energy of Jupiter. From Saturn's position in Scorpio, he will give his gaze to three, seven and ten houses away from him. Look for Scorpio in your chart and then see what houses he will be looking at. This will give you an idea of what areas of your life you will be working with directly, and what Saturn will be activating for you. From his placement in Scorpio, he will give his drishti to Capricorn (his own sign), Taurus, and Leo. Saturn begins his six month retrograde motion on March 14th 2015. This is an event of re-visiting our structures, support systems- both internally and externally. The returning process is happening on an emotional body level which will demand our complete attention- especially as Jupiter continues to transit through the heart-centered emotional water sign of Cancer. The inner work that we commit to at this time will be lasting, deeply rooted change. This will bring transformation on the physical and emotional body levels Once Jupiter moves into Leo, July of 2015, Saturn will no longer receive the soft gaze of Jupiter. Instead, Saturn will be giving his more stern gaze to Jupiter in Leo. This will increase the edge, the effort, and the work required of us. It will put the emphasis back on Saturn, instead of the balancing effect Jupiter can have on Saturn's energy. Rahu and Ketu shift into Leo and Aquarius on January 30th of 2016. This ushers in a new cycle of shadow work for us. Saturn will then give his drishti to Rahu and we get the "Rudra effect" happening within Leo. Shifts, changes, upheavals, transitions on a bigger scale occur. Ego issues will play a role in our transformations and our emotional work. Be diligent with these themes as you work with your shadows and healing. August 18th of 2017, Rahu and Ketu shift again. This time they move into Cancer and Capricorn. Rahu gives his gaze now to Saturn who has moved to the edge of Scorpio. The Rudra energy of change and movement continues, but with a more intensified shadowed effect. The ultimate lessons of Saturn in Scorpio come to their peak at this time, so be looking for cosmic reminders and messages during this time period. Shortly thereafter, Saturn moves out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius on October 26th, 2017, finishing his transit through the transformational sign of Scorpio. Saturn's Transformational Effects By Sign I've indicated above the overall themes, general tendencies, and effects of Saturn's passage through Scorpio. Though it is impossible to say what the unique effects of this transit will be on you individually without looking at your personal jyotish chart, I can give you a more targeted idea by looking at each rising sign. Below, I give the general effects of Saturn's transit through Scorpio based on rising sign and the effects he will have three, seven and ten houses away. For an individualized assessment, please contact me for a personal session. Aries: Saturn transits through your eighth house of past- past karmas, past lives, past experiences. This is a hidden house, one that brings us our greatest struggles, challenges and haunts, however, it is the house that offers the biggest changes and transformations as well. These transformations will effect your career, your offerings to the world, as well as your wealth, nourishment and voice. Children, creativity, passion and education will also be effected. Work with self expression, overcoming your oldest, deepest shadows and the parts of your self that are keeping you in the dark. Relationships play a role in your transformational process. Emotions will be your most important resource and tool of information. Taurus: Your main focus is on relationships and the effects the "other" has on you. Transformation comes through recognizing who you are in relation to your partners, clients/students, family, friends and all your mirrors. The "other" is your greatest guru, teacher, for the coming Saturn cycle. Work with boundaries, co-dependency, and what your innate gifts and talents are- irrespective of giving or doing. You'll be working with the bindings the ego has on you and your emotional body. This is terribly important healing work for you to do, and essential for your personal liberation and your dharmic path. Gemini: Your willingness to work on your bad habits will determine the amount of transformation you achieve during this transit. Heal and be healed. Your personal growth can be of benefit to others, so share it and be transparent about your shadows. Use your past to courageously push you into your shadows, and the places within you that most need light and fresh air. The effort you put into your personal growth will show up as greater freedom, moksha and liberation and will ultimately serve your life purpose. Time away on long distance voyages, at ashrams, and in solitude, will help your transformation take place. Use creativity, communication and the arts courageously and take bold action steps. Children, passions and education are beneficial, while friends and monetary gains take extra effort. Cancer: Passion, creativity, children and education are the main players in your transformation process. Relationships are effected and require your consistent effort and commitment. The "other" is also enlivened to give you a powerful mirror for your growth. There can be gains and losses through friendships and money so work consciously with the waves. Speech, voice and self expression play a role in your nourishment and support. Emotional body work is a non-negotiable part of your effort for this time period. Career requires your diligent efforts as well as your past karmas and shadow work. Leo: Saturn will have you working directly with heart, home and emotional body wisdom. Your mother will play a role in your process and your transformation. Looking at parts of your shadow that are tangled into the emotions will be an important part of your process. Who are you without your giving, sharing, leading and offering? Heal and be healed. Let your work in the world be a resource for your personal transformation. Who are you becoming and what is your intention for this change? Who and what is holding you back? If the shadows and haunts were removed from your heart, who would you be? Creativity, courage and the arts are well worth your effort while dharma, teaching and gurus require extra attention and intention. Virgo: Creativity, courage, communication and the arts are hugely transformational for you as Saturn transits your third house. Seek teachers, gurus and guides to help you with your journey and dharma. Teach, advise and offer your wisdom to others as a means of personal growth and development. Let your passions, children and education inform your growth and desires. Long distance journeys, solitude and time on retreats and in ashrams will serve your overall liberation process. Wealth, nourishment and support come with courage and effort. Your shadows and overcoming your karmic past require the most effort, but will be the most worthy of your time. Libra: Nourishment, wealth and self sufficiency are your main areas of transformation during this transit. The past informs your efforts, so work diligently with old shadows, stories and limiting beliefs. Emotional body, home and heart, can provide greater stability with your consistent efforts. Gains, friendships and wealth fluctuate, providing you with new awareness through the ups and downs. Learn and grow through creativity, children and educational opportunities. Gains come through self growth and self effort. Relationships, however, may require extra effort and willingness on your part. Scorpio: Saturn will have you changing from inside out as he transits through your first house. This 2.5 year transit marks a fresh Saturn cycle for you. This transit takes your ultimate courage and creative efforts and is a beginning for you on many levels. Let the arts, the hands, and communications inform your process. Work directly with relationships and what the mirror of "other" is showing you. Take all of these pieces of awareness and put them into your career. It's time for you to start sharing, working, and being seen in new and different ways. Your past efforts will start paying off, but not without the personal growth and healing efforts you are accustomed to. The work never stops as you know well, but let it help you re-invent yourself from the ground up. Sagittarius: Use long distance travel, time alone, retreats and ashram living for this transformational time period as Saturn transits your 12th house. This is an inward time, so use it for introspection, meditation and inner growth. Work with your bad habits, and seek healing support. Nourishment, wealth, and support issues are important places to put attention for your journey. Seek the wisdom and guidance of teachers, gurus and guides and also share your wisdom with others who can benefit from your inner resources and rich inner life. This impacts your dharma and what you are hear to do in the world. Friends and money become important assets, while children, passion, education and creativity require your greatest efforts and consistent actions. Capricorn: Friendships and monetary gains ebb and flow as Saturn transit your 11th house. These are your main areas of focus during this transit. These themes will insist on your efforts and will also help you learn the most about yourself in the process. Children, creativity, passion and education provide greater awareness. Transformations and shadows that involve your ego play a major role in your overall changes and growth, but will also be the hardest part of yourself to address. Let the old stories and paradigms tell you where you need to look more deeply at your shadows and haunts. Wherever you are struggling the most is where you are resisting the changes and transformations the most. Aquarius: Saturn's transit through your career house encourages major transformations in your work life, your dharma, and your offerings to the world. You will be changing what you offer, how you offer it and also who you offer it to. Work with liberation, alone time, ashram life, and spiritual knowledge in order to aid you in this process. Heart, home and emotional body, as well as mother, are main contributing factors in your personal growth and development. Work directly with relationship matters, concerns and struggles- they will require your attention and focus as well. Teach, share, advise and get support from gurus and teachers. Your communication, creativity and artistry will require extra effort, but will be worth it. Pisces: Saturn transits your 9th house of wisdom, dharma and higher learning. This is a transformational time for your path and purpose, who you are and why you are here. Use creativity, the hands, communication, the fine arts and your courageous action steps for increasing your growth and understanding about your path. This is a time of healing others and being healed as well. Work with your ego, bad habits and the parts of yourself that refuse to be vulnerable. Friends and time alone can be valuable for your process, while money, relationships, and past karmas require your greatest efforts. Because Saturn is such a slow moving planet, one that can bring us our greatest struggles, his changes are considered major planetary transits. It is advised to have a yagya done for such a poignant shift. Find out more details about yagyas and how to sign up for this extra planetary support: Read more about yagyas. I want to remind you that we are still in between the eclipses, and nearing the Solar Eclipse on the 23rd. This solar eclipse occurs during Diwali, the celebration of light in the Vedic Calendar (more about this below). With four planets in Chitra nakshatra, Mars is really strongly activated right now. Our anger/agitation, critic/judge, sense of righteousness and inner fire may be aggravated. There is a natural piercing and cutting happening on multiple levels. The veils are thin- and if we are really paying attention we should be seeing our shadows, like never before. Pay attention, but don't necessarily respond or act until after the eclipse cycle has passed. Trust that your pieces will fall more naturally into place once the dust settles a bit. Until then, remember small action steps, embodiment, breath awareness and self care. Monday, October 20th Today’s Intention: Dance and paint your visions into reality. Moon moves into Uttaraphalguni, at 11:47 am CDT, inviting in Aryaman for our day, with an extra dash of Sun. Resources, creative and otherwise, are offered to us today. Stability, support and ancestral assistance arrives. This is a star that offers sustainability through relationships, partnerships and connections. It’s the work and effort we put into them that provides us with lasting nourishment. This is a time of asking for what you want and need. Be willing though to put in the necessary effort it takes for your efforts to be worth it. The work you do now, will pay off for you and your lineage in the future, so make your steps count. Continue working intentionally with your potent creativity. Creativity is your power, your stability in this life. It is our reason for life and living. Use your creativity to affirm and confirm what you want in your life and who you want in it. Let the arts serve as the tool for awakening your sleeping creative forces. Dance and paint your dreams into reality and capture the aliveness, the potency, the shakti, of your creative life force. Moon enters the 13th tithi (Moon phase) today, moving towards complete emptiness this week with the new Moon. Retrograde Mercury (now in its position of exaltation, Virgo) is closely conjunct Rahu, our shadows. Mind is being highly influenced by our shadows right now. With Ketu's direct aspect, expect the mental body to be cracked open. Let in the light and look for resources. As Moon hops into Virgo at 18:25 CDT, the mental body and emotional body intensify this dance- as well as our fragility. The major planetary shifts have passed now until Saturn moves into Scorpio on November 2nd (an article on this transit will be out later this week). For now, Libra continues to force our attention, asking us to confront our issues about balance, relationships and getting the support we need. Exalted Saturn is poised for change and in the gap now, sandhi at over 28 degrees. Debilitated Sun forces us to confront issues with ego and our sense of Self. While Venus in Libra (it's own sign) increases our ability to find more flow, possibility and resources for balance with these themes. Creativity (Venus's domain) is an essential resource for finding new possibilities and literally re-creating your life. Be intentional with your creative process right now. Tuesday, October 21st Today's Intention: Don't be afraid to be broken open. Light enters through our broken places. Moon transits Virgo, conjunct retrograde exalted Mercury. Retrograde planets intensify the indications of the planet, while a retrograde planet in its sign of exaltation becomes debilitated (uccha banga). This is a very interesting combination we are experiencing right now. As this delicate, debilitated mental body is confronting its shadows head on, we are likely to feel our shadows intensify with mind games included. Mercury and Rahu are in exact conjunction in the very wee hours of the morning. This may be a time where our mental turmoil is exacerbated as well as phobias, fears and psychic disturbances. As Moon joins this combination, we may be overwhelmed by emotional triggers as well. I can not overemphasize the need for embodiment at this time. Keep it small, affirming and gentle. Use a three level check in to name the issues coming up for you and try to separate the messages and needs of each body- mental, emotional and physical. This check in is a very concrete step to help us work directly with our internal "pause to check" system. I also suggest using some EFT (emotional freedom technique) to calm any increased fight or flight coming up for you at this time. Do not push yourself right now. Less is more. Moon moves into Hasta nakshatra at 14:10 CDT and Savitr offers a bit of light. This light may intensify the reflection coming towards us, or it may offer a glimmer of hope and possibility. Savitr brings insights and new realizations which may be stunners. The hands are a primary resource for this nakshatra. Use the hands to enliven the light and awareness available to you. This may be through creativity and the arts- working with clay, painting, etc. I suggest creating a dance and some body movement that begins with the hands. Use the hands as an entry point for your dance and let their function- grasping and releasing- be a metaphor for your life process. What are you grasping and holding? What are you releasing and letting go? Practice the opening and closing as you work with the hands directly. Use Gayatri Mantra to induce more light and magic. Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥtát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃbhárgo devásya dhīmahidhíyo yó naḥ prachodáyāt Wednesday, October 22nd Today's Intention: Make your action steps count. What is good for you is good for others. Moon jumps into the 15th tithi and Chitra nakshatra. Moon is almost completely empty as we near our final eclipse of the year. Moon in Chitra puts five planets in this Mars ruled nakshatra- Moon, Mercury and Rahu are in very close conjunction. Use yesterday's information to walk through your day. Chitra is ruled by Vishvakarma, the builder, the architect of the cosmos. He helps us with our action steps, making them potent and powerful. As his name denotes, action is a part of what he offers us. Since he is also an Aditya, he can provide us with resources for our life. He is often considered an incarnation of Lord Brahma, the god who brings the unmanifest into manifest form. Great karma yoga can happen with Vishvakarma. This is an essential reminder right now during the current planetary intensity. Be of service to others, let seva be a driving force for you and your actions. How can your actions serve you and others as a divine offering? Ultimately, this is dharma. Actions steps building upon your action steps. Surrender to the process. Use your creativity to expand the actions you take. Sun and Venus are in exact conjunction today, creating a combustion, excess heat and torching our creative energy. Watch for burnout, excess fatigue. Notice where you are pushing too hard and missing the messages of this delicate time period. Relationships are vulnerable right now as well as our creative fluidity. Self care and extra nourishment is essential. Thursday, October 23rd Today's Intention: Light your candle, even if it's only a tiny flame. Retrograde, debilitated Mercury moves back into Hasta nakshatra, inviting in a sense of light and flicker of wisdom. Ask Savitr for guidance and inspiration. Let mind and hands work together in the coming weeks. Hand eye coordination is maximized during this time period. Use the arts to increase this potential; playing music, painting, drawing, writing, can all increase the light within. We may feel some increased hope and possibility today because of this transition- as well as through the other significant changes today. Moon moves into Libra at 04:52 am CDT, joining debilitated Sun, combust Venus in its own sign, and an exalted yet sandhi (in the gap) Saturn. The instability of the times may intensify our sense of burnout today. Move towards the resources and seek moments of pause that can be a resource for you. Relationships, our sense of balance, our stability and support may feel uncertain and off balance right now. I encourage you to look for the smallest of resources and let this help you build resilience. Don't force outcomes right now. Ease forward gently. Diwali (or Deepavali) is a very significant five day festival in the Vedic tradition. This year, the festivities begin on the 18th in the USA, and continue until the 25th. The most significant day of the Diwali festivities is today because of the new Moon. This is a celebration of light, of Lakshmi, and our divine resources. The festival of light spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. As the solar eclipse is occurring simultaneously, we literally are experiencing an eclipse of our light, our solar energy, our soul. Today, let in the light, the abundance that is present in your life- no matter how small or nuanced. Turn on the light switch of your soul and let this be a poignant moment, intentionally driving out the shadows and inviting in more light to your life. Possibility, hope and joy are significant resources. Honor Lakshmi, light a candle at your altar and invoke her spirit of abundance and wealth. New Moon is at 16:57 CDT while Moon is in Libra and Chitra nakshatra. Moon moves to Swati nakshatra at 17:31 CDT. The partial solar eclipse begins at 17:00 CDT and continues until 18:52 CDT. A lot of movement and shifts are happening within this two hour time frame. Use this time for meditation, invocation and setting intentions if possible. Swati nakshatra increases shadow, movement and shape shifting. The rule of Swati, Vayu the wind god, increases these tendencies. Symbolically, this partial solar eclipse ushers in the next waxing cycle for us. This is a cycle that brings essential balancing for the pieces of our life that have been causing upheaval. The balance occurs once we slowly sift and settle into our new choices and action steps. Digestion and assimilation of the past month bring the stability we are seeking. Finding the most nourishing morsels of our lives and what our greatest needs are, becomes our driving force. Transformation becomes the nourishment, as well as instigates the nourishment we need. Seek transformation and let new resources feed you. Your emotional body is a vital resource for making wise choices and action steps. Whatever your intuitive knowing offers you- go there. Use this wisdom to guide you. Restructure the way you offer yourself, how you share your wisdom. Shift the way you seek wisdom and knowledge. Invite in innovation. Let the body be a primary creative resource for you. Resource from the wisdom of the body. Listen deeply and ask your body to give you the guidance you are seeking. Pelvis and hips can be a resource for informing the way you dance with stability, support, moving forward and containment. How can you move forward with greater stability and support? Read more about this in my New Moon Wisdom article. Friday, October 24th Today's Intention: Listen to your internal winds for vital physical body messages. Surrender to the winds of change. Moon transits Swati nakshatra, ruled by Vayu and Rahu, increasing movement, change and transition. There is a certain intensity with this nakshatra because Vayu is a Rudra. Strength and fierceness are invoked. This lessens the intense stalemate of planets in Chitra nakshatra that we've been working with for the past days and weeks. But now, swift movement and change are inevitable. Vayu is connected to prana, our internal winds and vital life force. Vayu is worshiped as the "breath of the gods". We are each touched by gods breath through Swati nakshatra. Speak, move, invoke this divine life force. Let it move you and help you create your new dance, your new direction. Venus moves into Swati nakshatra at 05:35 CDT and the shift from multiple planets in Chitra, shifts to multiple planets in Swati. This shift invites in creative movement and change. Changes and shifts with our relationships, our sense of balance and stability. Creativity, and its constant flux, flow and change, is our stabilizing force. Ground. Keep working with the pelvis as a resource for stability and creative vitality. The close combustion of Venus and Sun continues as Venus chases the Sun. Heat and passion intensifies so watch for sparks and aggression. Just after midnight, Sun shifts into Swati nakshatra as well. Sun in Swati nakshatra invites in a two week period of big shifts and changes as Saturn moves into Scorpio for the next 2.5 years. Sun invokes these shifts, the movement and the winds of change. Since Vayu is one of the eight Vasudevas, who are sources of illumination, there is light and inspiration that can arrive as well as resources. These resources and inspiration should be linked to dharma and Vayu will give the support we need to increase this nourishment. Since wind cools things off, we may notice a coolness or a detachment in ourselves emotionally at this time. Don't forget to check in with your emotional body during this time period as we may be missing vital messages. Use a three level check for resourcing. Moon shifts into Vishaka nakshatra at 18:27 CDT, invoking Indragni and a need for alliance and support systems. Saturday, October 25th Today's Intention: Let the shape shifting begin! Moon transits Vishaka nakshatra and Indragni orients us towards alliances, support systems and co-creation. Work with a sense of togetherness, and how to resource with connection and the nourishment we can receive from building relationships. There is much symbolism with the alliance of Indra and Agni. These dual gods remind us that two heads are better than one. That we need a hierarchy of power in order to thrive, and that we all serve each other, no matter the hierarchy. There is a connection to the altar here as well, making offerings to the divine, and the transformation that occurs when we do this act of worship. Alchemy, the transformation process of our offerings, is heightened today. Take note of what you are offering, how you are offering it, and to who. What shifts need to take place and who can you align with to increase its power and potency? Moon moves to Scorpio at 12:51 CDT. Mercury goes direct today at 14:13 CDT, returning him to his exalted status in Virgo. Technically he is considered "in his own sign" as he's over 15 degrees right now, but this strength should help with mental matters, commerce, business and finances, as well as creativity. These issues start to move in a more forward direction for us now. Moon moves to Anuradha nakshatra at 18:55 CDT, and Mitra enters our awareness. Sunday, October 26th Today's Intention: Don't get lost in the details. Moon transits Scorpio and Anuradha nakshatra today, enlivening Mitra and his precision. Moon receives drishti from Jupiter and Ketu. Both Sun and Moon are debilitated right now. This can be a very inward time of introspection, and may result in a lack of external focus. This tendency is increased as Moon is still small in the fourth tithi, though waxing now. Use this time to quietly restructure your visions and goals instead. Plant your seeds of desire and motivate energetically for your future. Mitra is an Aditya, known for giving resources and material support. He is a form of the Sun and relates to friendship, companionship, connections, and fine details. Anuradha can help us with alliances, connections, and building resources through our relationships. Moon moves to Jyeshtha nakshatra at 18:58 CDT. Indra's sensory sensitivity and overall strength help us overcome some obstacles. Tend to your wild horses (your senses) and don't let them run away with you. Monday, October 27th Today's Intention: Tame your wild horses! Moon transits Jyeshtha nakshatra and Indra, as well as Mercury rule the day. Indra heightens our senses, as well as our sensory sensitivity. He reminds us of the strength we can gain when we can control our senses and learn to channel them more directly. This is power. With Sun and Moon debilitated simultaneously, our sensitivity is more extreme. Pay attention to your subtle needs and listen to your intuition. Make sure your mental body doesn't lead you astray. Use a three level check for awareness. Moon jumps into Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra at 18:37 CDT, inviting in some disruptions and chaos. Moon joins Mars here and intensifies the changes. Saturn's drishti on both Mars and Moon increase the pressure and force. There is wisdom coming in the back door with with this calamity and restructuring, so look for the gifts that are arriving. The more space you can clear, the more space there will be for the new. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. Monday, September 15th Today's Intention: Reach out and connect. Offer nourishment to yourself and also to those who need it. Moon is waning and transits its mulitrikona sign, Taurus, while in Mrigashirsha nakshatra. Moon receives drishtri from Mars (who is looking directly at the Moon from its own sign of Scorpio) and also from Rahu. This can intensify and agitate the internal waters. Let the indications of Mrigashirsha remind you to give yourself nourishment and care. Mrigashirsha is ruled by both Mars and also the Moon- deified as Soma. Soma is also divine nectar that brings nourishment and healing. This nakshatra is related to comfort and providing comfort to others- just as the ancient Soma plant would offer its healing and nourishment. There is a fickle nature to this nakshatra. Not only is it ruled by Chandra/Soma, the fastest moving of the nine planets, the symbol here is a deer head with antlers. The antlers keep growing, even after they fall off- like branches reaching in many directions. The antlers can also be used medicinally and correlate the crown chakra. Today, nourish your self. Tend to self care and be mindful of your emotional body wisdom. Moon moves to Gemini at 22:49 CDT. Sun is at the edge of Leo and prepares to move towards Virgo. Tuesday, September 16th Today's Intention: Move your pranic winds and work with your inner storms consciously. Moon transits Gemini, still receiving gaze from Mars, and moves into Ardra nakshatra at 11:47 am CDT. Ardra is ruled by both Rudra and Rahu and is known for his intense emotional upheavals, stormy weather and ability for intense power. Rudra is the father of the Maruts (winds) which can manifest externally in the weather as storm gods, or internally as the five types of internal Prana in the body. Proper pranic flow is what keeps the body healthy and well balanced. Using pranayama is helpful today as well as moving the prana within in order to increase circulation. Do a three level check-in to identify you internal weather conditions. Need a reminder about the 3 levels? Rahu and Mercury are in close conjunction right now. You may be noticing an extra level of intensity in your mental body as a result. Is your critic high? Is anxiety and worry increasing? Is there a sense of shadow in your mind? These are likely a result of this conjunction. Be diligent with your mental body awareness and use my recent creative ritual for tending to your inner needs. Sun jumps into Virgo at 19:17 CDT, joining Rahu and exalted Mercury there. The mental heat is on! This Sun transit may offer some shadowed self experiences as well as greater attention to detail. Catch your self in moments of low self esteem, shadowed thinking and uncertainty. Be aware of anxiety and mental turmoil, as well as binary thinking. Don't get stuck in details and mind your communications. Some may also feel a grandeur sense of possibility and motivation this month with diligence, direction and clarity in worldly actions. Mind your mental body right now and don't let it overrule you! Additionally, mind your gut. Both are essential for sharp intuitive guidance. Meditation may be extra helpful this month when the mental body feels overwhelming. Wednesday, September 17th Today's Intention: Be intentional with your imagination. Work consciously with your mental body and let the wisdom of the emotional and physical bodies inform your needs. Mercury and Rahu are in exact conjunction today. Use yesterday's reminders and be diligent with taming your mental body. Let the 3 levels of awareness inform you needs. It may help to get out of excess details. Zoom out. Moon moves to Punarvasu at 14:08 CDT where Aditi and Jupiter offer a more gentle approach to us. Can we soften and listen to their guidance? Aditi and Jupiter bring expansion, wisdom and insight. Their thoughtful universality may help us smooth out the previous days of tension and mental agitation. Still, the mental body is wound a bit tight right now and needs to be reminded to relax. Expect that you will be needing to do this consciously. When you pick up the mental body awareness and bring presence to the thoughts that are coming, keep the reminder alive that the mental body is also the imaginal realm. We get to create whatever we want here. Pay attention, however, to the response of the emotional body and the physical body. Harvest the sensations and awareness that comes to you and take it into movement, art and songs. Get your stories moving and get embodied! Thursday, September 18th Today's Intention: Seek nourishment through the dance of open and close dynamics. What are you inviting in and what are closing off to? Sync with the rhythm of your heart and your breath. Moon moves from Gemini into its own sign, Cancer, at 10:10 am CDT and then moves into Pushya nakshatra at 16:53 CDT. In Cancer, Moon conjuncts exalted Jupiter and receives drishti (gaze) from both Ketu and Saturn. This increases the expansion/contraction themes at play as well as insights into our attachments. Pushya is ruled by Brihaspati (Jupiter deified) as well as Saturn. With the Cancer experience, our attention on boundaries, open and close dynamics and expansion and contraction are enlivened. Yet Pushya provides nourishment as a mother cow gives milk to her calf. Pay attention to how you are being nourished and what is providing this nourishment. Where can you feel this sensation in the body? At the same time be present to what you are inviting in and closing off to. Be conscious about your boundaries- energetic, personal and within relationships. Listen to what your needs are and attend to yourself with compassion, self care and sensitivity. Need to remember how to get back home? Use my recent creative ritual for tending to your need for comfort. Friday, September 19th Today's Intention: What deceptions and illusions are keeping you from your own sense of nourishment? Themes from the previous day about boundaries, nourishment and the rhythm of the heart prevail. Work consciously with the heart rhythm, the chest and ribcase area, as well as the breath. Let your inhales and exhales move you and explore their effects on your body. This is nature's natural expression of open and close dynamics. Sync with your innate rhythm. Need a reminder about how the 3 levels of awareness can help you navigate your inner needs? Moon moves into Ashlesha nakshatra at 19:50 CDT and Sarpa emerges. Moon joins Jupiter in this nakshatra as well so we will likely get a magnification of these nourishment and boundary concerns. Ashlesha is ruled by Mercury (mental body) and Sarpa, a snake who navigates deception and illusion. Look for mental body snags and snares and an intensity with what is being churned up inside of you. We may be questioning ourselves more today and questioning our ability to find support and comfort. Remember to come back to the sensation of nourishment in your body. Where do you feel it? How does it emerge? The body's messages will lead you to awareness. Mercury is sandhi and moving to the edge of its sign of exaltation (Virgo), poised to move into Libra. Take this mental intensity into consideration. As the Moon continues to empty and lose light, we may be feeling this turning inward more as well. Let this time of inner exploration be intentional. Moon is now in the 12th tithi of the waning cycle. Use this time for increased awareness. Saturday, September 20th Today's Intention: Life is movement, shifts and changes. The mental body is no different. Move it, help it move and be witness to its movements. Moon continues to transit Ashlesha nakshatra today. There may be a continued sense of churning and agitation in the mental body as a result of transiting Mercury. Since Mercury is sandhi and moving to the edge of its sign of exaltation (Virgo), poised to move into Libra, a certain level of mental intensity should be taken into consideration. Continue to resource nourishment and small moments of comfort. Let these moments inform the nourishment you need, how you feel it and where you feel it in the physical body. How can this sensation of comfort be a valuable resource for you as you continue to navigate you needs? Need to remember how to get back home? Use my recent creative ritual for tending to this awareness of comfort. Mercury moves to Libra at 15:19 CDT joining exalted Saturn here. This transit brings forward momentum and the retrograde motion of Mercury as well. Mercury moves quickly and reminds us of the constant changes of the mind. He will be in Libra now until he moves back into Virgo on 10.16. His movement into Libra helps us touch upon greater balance, our needs within our relationships, and can provide support with commerce and business. Expect swift movement and momentum. Try not to get lost and blown away in the wind. Moon moves to Leo and jumps into Magha nakshatra at 22:51 CDT. Sunday, September 21st Today's Intention: Empty and release what is not yours. Invite in and hold sacred the parts you wish to keep as your own. Moon transits Leo and Magha nakshatra, enlivening Ketu's influence as well as Pitr- the ancestors. Moon also joins Venus in Leo. Creativity and connection may be extra quick and/or harsh today. We may be influenced more by our ancestors in our thoughts and actions. Be aware of your relationship with these influences and see how they impact your needs. Do you need connection or alone time? Memories or release from the past? Take a moment at least to honor your lineage for what it is, what it has brought to you. How it has helped you arrive at this moment on your map of evolution? Find some gratitude for your roots. Moon is slowly emptying and moves to the 14th tithi of the waning cycle late in the evening. What have you been releasing over the past few weeks and what are you ready to finally let go of now? New Moon is on the 24th as Navaratri begins. This is a very sacred time of year, so let the ancestors help you bring presence to your needs at this time. Need some extra guidance and clarity?
