The waxing phase culminates this week on the 6th with a full Moon in Aries. I share details below, but look for a Full Moon Wisdom article and new horoscopes later this week with even more details.
The big shift of Saturn into Scorpio has now happened. Saturn is barely adjusting to Scorpio and still under a degree. My advise from last week about getting embodied is still relevant- and carries through the waning Moon cycle. Stay grounded and in your body as much as possible. Mercury shifts into Libra once again and emotional tides are high with the full Moon, so be aware that life may feel overwhelming, big, expansive and very new in many ways. Take action steps gently, create alliances, and celebrate your path. We are all in for a Scorpio type adventure for the next 2.5 years! If you haven't had a Saturn yagya yet, now's the time! Monday, November 3rd Today's Intention: Loosen the grip you have on yourself. Lighten your load. Moon moves into Pisces at 02:55 am CST, joining Ketu there, while receiving drishti from Jupiter, Mercury and Rahu. Then Moon moves into Uttarabhadrapada at 08:30 am. This awakens Ahirbudhnya, another son of Vishvakarma. He is considered the serpent of the deep, and rules over the nether regions, the hidden realms, and our subconscious mind. He is also a Rudra like his brother Ajaikapada, but he removes misfortune and can grant enjoyment, refreshments and delights. The symbol here is the back legs of a funeral cot, exemplifying the final release, letting go. Fruitful endeavors can be granted, or old struggles can be released. Work with the subconscious mind today and unravel, loosen and release the old tangled webs holding you back from your goals! Venus moves to Vishaka nakshatra at 19:52 CST. Alliances, relationships and the ability to co-create with others, proves especially valuable and important in the coming weeks. Work diligently with partnerships, team building, and giving gratitude for the resources others bring into your life. We accomplish nothing alone. Invite others into your world and accomplish more! Vishaka reminds us that giving and receiving makes the world go round! Mercury nears the edge of Virgo, its sign of exaltation, and is now sandhi. Both Saturn (physical body) and Mercury (mental body) are sandhi right now as Moon (emotional body) nears Ketu (our awakened shadows). Get embodied and stay grounded in the moment as much as possible right now. It's too easy to slip out of the body and get lost in the mind and thoughts. Moon is waxing and in the 12th tithi (Moon phase) now. Full Moon this week on the 6th in Aries! The doors close at midnight tonight on my Early Bird pricing for my Dharma Foundations Course!! Moon moves to Revati nakshatra at 06:53 am CST, inviting in Pushan and another level of Mercury to our day. Moon nears exact conjunction with Ketu, so expect some mental sparks today. Especially because Rahu gives his drishti, as well as a sandhi Mercury who is ready to jump into Libra. Mars also gives his gaze, intensifying the heat and fire element. Emotions may be invoked, or provoked today, so be sure to do a 3 level check in for greater awareness about your needs. Pushan insures our safe travels, nourishes our path, and helps us to flourish, prosper and create increase. He is a guardian for journeys that are on the material level and astral level- those beyond the human body. He leads us to abundance and a sense of thriving. Mercury moves back into Libra today at 09:37 am CST, joining debilitated Sun, and Venus there in its own sign. Mercury is here until November 24th. Libra becomes the center of our attention once again, invoking a need for greater balance, harmony and movement in our lives. Relationships, co-creating and nourishing communication are all vital right now. Inspire and get inspired. Seek solutions. In just a few short weeks, our attention and energy will shift to Scorpio, when we will have a cluster of four planets in this sign. Transformations are afoot, but for now, focus on re-centering, re-balancing and re-stabilizing. Wednesday, November 5th Today's Intention: Self care is non-negotiable. Put your needs first. Let healthy boundaries rejuvenate you. Mars moves out of Mula nakshatra at 02:47 am CST and into PurvaAshada, ruled by the Water goddess Apas and the planet Venus. This brings us a shift into greater flow, ease and fluidity- which becomes more possible in our action steps. Sensitivity and feelings are increased, as well as greater invitation for rejuvenation and purification. If you haven't already begun your fall cleanse, now is the time to take action steps toward clearing and cleaning your physical body. It is also vital to be clearing and cleaning your mental/emotional bodies as well. Cleanse from the inside out. But gently, not harshly. The ruler here, Apas, is the water goddess who can increase fluidity and flow for us. Take note if you need more life nourishment, monetary flow, love and creativity. Use this wisdom to get you started. Moon is now in the 14th tithi, nearing complete fullness, and jumps into Aries and Ashwini nakshatra at 05:25 am CST, inviting in another level of rejuvenation and healing thanks to the Ashwini-kumara twins. Their domain includes rasayanas, which bring strength and vitality. Both the creative arts and the healing arts fall under their domain. Moon receives drishti from the three planets in Libra: debilitated Sun, Venus in its own sign, and now Mercury, who is still in young degrees. A strong sense of balance is desired today. Seek solutions and resources for getting your needs met. Moon moves to the 15th tithi at 18:06 CST and the fullness begins! Thursday, November 6th Today's Intention: Be filled. But first, remove all that does not create space for your own fulfillment. Moon moves to Bharani nakshatra at 04:12 am CST, inviting in Yama and another level of Venus to our day, and our full Moon experience. Drishti on the Moon from three planets in Libra is still relevant thanks to debilitated Sun, Venus in its own sign, and now Mercury, who has crossed over the two degree mark. We are still working with a strong need for balance- a general theme for this time period. Work with the stability available from the pelvis in order to ground, and root. Seek solutions and resources for getting your needs met. Invite in flow and fluidity. Be vigilant with second chakra messages. Moon is completely full at 16:21 CST in Aries and Bharani nakshatra. The Vishva Devas are enlivened when the Moon is in Purnima, fullness. Creativity, light and expression are available to us in greater capacity. With the Moon in Bharani nakshatra at this time, Yama brings an element of restraint and containment to us. He is an enforcer- of Natural Law, of right and wrong, of karma. He insists on transformation and brings it to us through his truth. Everyone at some point will have to face the scrutiny of Yama. He tells it like it is. The harsh realities of life and death. Bharani is therefor considered an Ugra nakshatra- one that is harsh and dreadful. Cutting, executive decisions and abilities are possible, as well as success in destruction and interrupting. Read more about the Full Moon in Bharani nakshatra and the coming waning Moon cycle. I've also posted my waning Moon cycle Creative Ritual to help you work with the themes of this cycle. Take yourself from flicker to flame, ash to akasha. Moon transits into Krittika nakshatra at 03:21 am CST, inviting in the deity Agni and its ruler Sun to our day. Today invites in a sense of purification, clarifying and a need for greater digestion and assimilation. Use the creative arts and embodiment for increasing the necessary flow and fluidity in your life. Your digestion process has a direct impact on your ability to create, re-generate and revitalize yourself. Work with your fire and its transformational abilities. Today is about shifting, changing and re-creating. Moon hops into Taurus at 09:12 am CST, and goes into its exaltation degrees until 14:30 am CST. As Soon as Moon shifts into Taurus, it receives drishti from Saturn in Scorpio and Rahu in Virgo. Intensity in the body and with our shadows, stirs the emotional body. This position of exalted Moon, however, exemplifies the expansiveness of the emotional body and can bring with it tidal waves. Ride these waves. Purge, release and transform through the wisdom of the emotional body. Use my Creative Ritual to explore the transformational level of your current experiences and conflicts. Saturday, November 8th Today's Intention: Get moving and get creative. Feel your desires, then take action! Moon moves into Rohini nakshatra at 02:58 am CST, enlivening the support of lord Brahma and his consort goddess Saraswati. Moon is in Taurus and considered in its sign of mulitrikona, a strong placement for the felt senses, creativity and self expression. Doubly so because of its Rohini placement right now. Rahu gives his drishti, as does Saturn. This creates some extra pressures on the Moon and increases and heightens the intensity of our feelings. Think of it like an amplification or choppy waters. How can you channel this in a way that moves you, inspires you and gets your creativity flowing? Go bold and start manifesting your desires. Open your channels of creativity and get your life moving! Sunday, November 9th Today's Intention: Sense, feel and reach into your dreams in order harvest your action steps. Moon moves to Mrigashirsha nakshatra 03:09 am CST inviting in the deity Soma, and the planet Mars. Divine nourishment, the nectar of life is available to feed us today. Sensing, feeling, reaching and branching out in order to thrive are the resources for our day. Seek the nectar that will nourish you from your depths, to your tips. From feet to head, first chakra (your roots) all the way to your 7th chakra (your celestial being). Don't neglect your roots, for this is the foundation you need for growth and abundance. Mercury moves to Swati nakshatra at 04:48 am CST, which encourages movement and change within our mental body, our communications and commerce. The deity Vayu rules over Swati nakshatra. He is present in breath, prana, as well as wind and air. His ability to move us, shift and change us, can be felt in soft, gentle breezes, or strong, stormy gusts. Working with the ever fluctuating mental body in the coming weeks will be vital. Three level check ins are a must. Harness the winds of the mind and you harness your being. Moon moves to Gemini at 15:29 CST, and receives drishti from Mars. Whenever Moon and Mars connect, there is dance with fire and water. This combination can increase anger, passion, and our attraction to red. It can also bring strength and blessings from the divine mother. Look for the opening, the gift, in the challenges and intensity that arrive. Anger is a potent and powerful gift to receive! Monday, November 10th Today's Intention: Roar like you've never roared before! Moon moves to Ardra nakshatra at 03:58 am CDT, inviting in Rudra and Rahu into our day. Moon receives direct gaze from Mars, increasing the emotional intensity available with Ardra. The morning, and our week, start off with a bang! Rudra brings immense power and strength with him and when he combines with the Moon, this can bring immense emotional currents. This is why Ardra is connected to anger and the ferocity that anger offers us. (Anger is like a big wave, not like a ripple on the water.) Anger is an exceptional gift if used properly. When used improperly, it is a mental body dysfunction. When our anger is resourced from our emotional body wisdom, our sensing, it can be used as a tool of activation, motivation and power. It can be a dharmic gift, a 3rd chakra oriented self empowerment tool. How do you find the gift in anger? Look at the needs it is sharing with you. That need can be a huge source of awakening for you. It takes willingness, action steps and courage to go into the depth of your needs and use them as a personal development resource. Your anger can get you there and Rudra can make this happen. Charge forward today and roar loudly! Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. This is a powerful week! Mercury is retrograde, and the full Moon on Wednesday brings with it a full lunar eclipse. We enter a delicate two week period between lunar and solar eclipses at this time. Take this into consideration with your actions and intentions. We are working with shadow and illusions in this gap of time. Dance with them intentionally and may you lift the veil of illusion in some new way!
Monday, October 6th Today’s Intention: Take one step at a time. Take each step with intention. Keep your commitment to grounding, while finding your balance. But keep moving. Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra at 03:12 am CDT, inviting in Ajaikapada and another level of Jupiter into our day. Moon is receiving drishti from Mars while it transits Aquarius, which offers charge, action and increased fire. Purvabhadrapada is connected to tapas and penance. Ajaikapada is a form of Shiva, lord of the dance, and reminds us of our human capabilities- balancing struggles, challenges and obstacles as we move forward in life. Pada means foot. It is essential to remember slow, simple steps again today. As Ajaikapada dances, he balances, one foot raised, and one foot firmly grounded. There is a certain purpose, a direct gaze (drishti) and a strong commitment that one must have to keep this sense of balance and grounding simultaneously. These are your reminders for today. Slow, steady steps, using great commitment and purpose as you move. Intention will be a poignant reminder as well. Since Ajaikapada is a Rudra, there is immense strength available here. At what costs are you willing to move forward? Lighten your load, it will make it easier to dance through life. Moon moves to Pisces at 19:25 CDT, joining Ketu there. Moon receives drishti from debilitated Venus, Sun and also Rahu, as well as Jupiter from nine houses away. This will intensify our experience over the next few days leading into the full Moon. More on this in my upcoming Moon Mind Calendar and Full Moon Wisdom article. Tuesday October, 7th Today's Intention: The desire to change ourselves and our lives, requires that we dig deeply down into our depths. Moon transits Pisces with Ketu there as well. Moon and Ketu both receive ample gaze from debilitated Venus, Sun and also Rahu, as well as Jupiter from nine houses away. This will intensify our experience over the next few days leading into the full Moon tomorrow. Just after midnight, Moon jumps into Uttarabhadrapada at 00:51 am CDT. This nakshatra is the latter half of the bhadrapada constellation which symbolizes the front half and back half of a funeral cot; death, transformation and letting go are the focus here. Uttarabhadrapada is ruled by Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the deep. He is a naga serpent connected to wisdom (not a sarpa serpent connected to illusions) which indicates his immense and vast knowledge- knowledge and wisdom that must be excavated deeply for. He is connected to our subconscious mind, the pieces of our being that are ruling us, but that we must work hard to uncover and transform. He is a serpent, but a serpent we can work with, learn and grow from. The back legs of a funeral cot symbolize that Uttarabhadrapada is helping us liberate, let go of and let the pieces of our story move, change and release. Yesterday we began a very intentional dance- moving us towards the full Moon lunar eclipse and waning Moon cycle. Today, let that dance transform into a very intentional release. What shadows and demons are you ready to release, transform and let go of? The Moon is already in the 15th tithi, the final phase of its waxing phase. Our cups are full and overflowing. It's time to release and let go. Do this with poignancy, intention and commitment as we embark on this final eclipse cycle of the year. Moon moves to Revati nakshatra at 22:38 CDT, nearing exact conjunction with Ketu. Wednesday, October 8th Today's Intention: Total eclipse of the heart. Soften and release, but courageously look at your shadows. Moon will be completely full at 05:49 am CDT while in Pisces and Revati nakshatra. Simultaneously, there will be a lunar eclipse occurring. The eclipse begins at 03:17 am CDT and continues until 08:32 am CDT. The maximum part of the eclipse will be at 05:55 am CDT. Moon in Revati nakshatra at the time of the eclipse in Pisces furthers the symbol of release, endings and letting go while strengthening themes of its ruling planet Mercury. Pushan, the ruling deity of Revati, insures our safe passage and travels, and requests simplicity and purity. He is a protector and helps us find our way back to the path when we are lost. He also can help us retrieve lost or stolen items. This is a special waning Moon cycle that offers us many returns, on multiple levels. Be willing and open to receive messages that will help you strengthen your path, return to and restore your sense of well being, hope and possibility. Be open to comfort and nourishment and reminders that life doesn't have to be hard and forced- it can be lighter and more gentle. This requires us to clear away rubble, debris and anything blocking our path, so vital clearing is truly essential during this eclipse cycle. For full details on the eclipse and the coming waning Moon cycle read my Full Moon Wisdom article. Moon jumps into Aries at 20:44 CDT and into Ashwini nakshatra. Thursday, October 9th Today's Intention: Don't get led by your senses. Reign in your horses. As Moon transits Aries in Ashwini nakshatra, our two week eclipse cycle begins with the Ashwini-Kumara twins leading us towards healing and revitalization. Moon also receives drishti (gaze) directly from exalted Saturn and retrograde Mercury. The Ashwini twins enliven the healing arts and beckon us to rejuvenate through healing modalities such as rasayana treatments and using the creative arts to spark change and vitality within us. Ayurveda is their domain and strength comes as a gift of their healing, symbolized here by a horse. The Ayurvedic strengthening herb, Ashwagandha, is connected to the horse and the root word ashva. Today, make sure self care is a top priority. The two weeks between lunar and solar eclipse, and also the gap between summer and winter (fall), is a delicate time for health and well being. It's a sandhi time, so treat yourself with extra TLC. Start your fall cleanse today if you haven't already. I'm unveiling my new Swati Jr Jewelry collection today. The new Cosmic Collection is inspired by our dance with the Sun, Moon and Stars. Have you joined my FB event? I'll be giving gifts, incentives, discounts and more! Join the trunk show event and get in on the goodies! Moon moves to Bharani nakshatra at 19:16 CDT. Friday, October 10th Today's Intention: Strength and sensitivity go hand in hand. Your vulnerability is your power. Moon transits Bharani nakshatra, ruled by Yama and Venus. Yama brings restraint and is considered the king of dharma, because he determines your karmas at the time of your death. It is through the self control and restraint he provokes that can keep us out of suffering and sin, our own misery. This is a harsh and aggressive nakshatra, one that is ideal for butchering and killing as well as arguments and attacks. The irony is that it is also an extremely sensitive star as seen through its symbol, the yoni. Strength and sensitivity are the perfect pair. Our shadows, our weaknesses, are indeed our greatest gifts. It takes much courage, strength and power to overcome (to kill) our shadows and illusions. Make your actions count and firmly restrain yourself from being led my your asuras (demons). Purify yourself, but always strive for balance. Sun moves to Chitra nakshatra at 13:41 CDT, joining retrograde Mercury and Rahu in this nakshatra. Ruled by Vishvakarma, this is a nakshatra of action, plans and taking powerful, creative steps. The coming weeks are a time to get powerful and poignant, though as Sun nears Rahu, imbalances in our sense of poignancy may be problematic. If there's hesitancy, confusion or lack of clear direction, these are your shadows at play. If you're pushing too hard and forcing outcomes, you are not aligned with the times. Be bold and passionate with your desires, but make sure you are listening to your emotional body wisdom, your intuition, for guidance. Set goals and priorities and get organized! Get creative as the celestial architect Vishvakarma is here to help you rise and shine! Take some solid action steps towards your visions. This alone might clear the fog. Be diligent with your 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Moon moves to Krittika nakshatra at 18:22 CDT. Saturday, October 11th Today's Intention: In order to gain, we must be prepared to lose something. Moon jumps into its degrees of exaltation and into Taurus just minutes after midnight- at 00:14 am CDT. Exaltation only lasts until 05:34 am CDT, but the Moon will still be in its mulitrikona sign where it can maximize its effects at 75%. With Rahu's drishti on the Moon, watch for big rises and falls. Mars also give his direct gaze, making for a piercing and powerful emotional body. Our Moon tides will be high and low; be mindful of extremes and be diligent with emotional body awareness. Do a 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Moon transits Krittika nakshatra at this time and Agni as well as the Sun share their fire with us. Agni is the fire of life and is a powerful transformational part of our beings. We have many different types of Agni within us. We have much to digest: food, emotions, environments, relationships. Agni helps us burn, clarify and purify all of this in order to help us assimilate the nourishment of life. He brings purification, but he cuts and discards in the process. Within any transformation, there is letting go and loss. Krittika is considered a mixed nakshatra; it is both soft and hard. Though we gain nourishment through Agni, we also have to discard what is unnecessary, not useful for us. Consider this a day of the pruning and purifying process. Moon moves to Rohini at 18:08 CDT. Sunday, October 12th Today's Intention: Merge with your abundant creative flow. Go ahead and get lost in it today. Moon transits Rohini nakshatra and Lord Brahma, as well as the creativity of the Moon, are invited into our day. Moon is still in Taurus, its mulitrikona sign (a strong place for the Moon) while receiving drishti from both Rahu and Mars. Our Moon tides will be high and low; be mindful of extremes and be aware of your emotional body awareness. Be diligent with your 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Rohini is arguably the most creative nakshatra as indicated by its ruler Brahma; he created the universe from his navel after all! It's in this vein, we can create, materialize, and align with our true power as mini gods and goddesses in this life time. Our creativity is in fact our one constant gift- offering possibility and our ability to recreate ourselves and our lives over and over again. Without resiliency and reinventing ourselves, life would be stagnant, without growth, change or abundance. Rohini reminds us to welcome in the flow of creativity, the shakti of life, and to rejoice in the material aspects of life now and again. They are a part of this lila, the play of life, after all. Give thanks for for what flows towards you and through you, and let it continue to flow out into the world. Be that gift. Moon moves to Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 18:38 CDT. Monday, October 13th Today's Intention: Nourish from the inside out. Beauty begins within. Moon transits Mirgashisha nakshatra and Soma (another name for Chandra, the Moon) and also Mars are activated. Nourishment from the divine nectar of Soma is life giving. It lubricates the inner channels of our body and keeps us alive and youthful. Soma is lunar energy, but can be cultivated through the right foods and lifestyle practices. Vaidya Rama Kant Mishra speaks readily about "somagenic" qualities in order to enhance our well being. His lineage, the Shaka Vansya Ayurvedic tradition is a wealth of knowledge for increasing Soma within our bodies, mind and emotions. If you are a Moon child like me, and extra sensitive, you will want to educate yourself on this vital health science. The Moon is a creative and charismatic planet. It's sociable and loves to adorn and be adorned. Moon loves beauty, comfort and nourishment. That is why it is connected to Soma. Build soma within you today with self care, creativity and inviting in the Moon; fill your cup of resiliency. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. Monday, September 15th Today's Intention: Reach out and connect. Offer nourishment to yourself and also to those who need it. Moon is waning and transits its mulitrikona sign, Taurus, while in Mrigashirsha nakshatra. Moon receives drishtri from Mars (who is looking directly at the Moon from its own sign of Scorpio) and also from Rahu. This can intensify and agitate the internal waters. Let the indications of Mrigashirsha remind you to give yourself nourishment and care. Mrigashirsha is ruled by both Mars and also the Moon- deified as Soma. Soma is also divine nectar that brings nourishment and healing. This nakshatra is related to comfort and providing comfort to others- just as the ancient Soma plant would offer its healing and nourishment. There is a fickle nature to this nakshatra. Not only is it ruled by Chandra/Soma, the fastest moving of the nine planets, the symbol here is a deer head with antlers. The antlers keep growing, even after they fall off- like branches reaching in many directions. The antlers can also be used medicinally and correlate the crown chakra. Today, nourish your self. Tend to self care and be mindful of your emotional body wisdom. Moon moves to Gemini at 22:49 CDT. Sun is at the edge of Leo and prepares to move towards Virgo. Tuesday, September 16th Today's Intention: Move your pranic winds and work with your inner storms consciously. Moon transits Gemini, still receiving gaze from Mars, and moves into Ardra nakshatra at 11:47 am CDT. Ardra is ruled by both Rudra and Rahu and is known for his intense emotional upheavals, stormy weather and ability for intense power. Rudra is the father of the Maruts (winds) which can manifest externally in the weather as storm gods, or internally as the five types of internal Prana in the body. Proper pranic flow is what keeps the body healthy and well balanced. Using pranayama is helpful today as well as moving the prana within in order to increase circulation. Do a three level check-in to identify you internal weather conditions. Need a reminder about the 3 levels? Rahu and Mercury are in close conjunction right now. You may be noticing an extra level of intensity in your mental body as a result. Is your critic high? Is anxiety and worry increasing? Is there a sense of shadow in your mind? These are likely a result of this conjunction. Be diligent with your mental body awareness and use my recent creative ritual for tending to your inner needs. Sun jumps into Virgo at 19:17 CDT, joining Rahu and exalted Mercury there. The mental heat is on! This Sun transit may offer some shadowed self experiences as well as greater attention to detail. Catch your self in moments of low self esteem, shadowed thinking and uncertainty. Be aware of anxiety and mental turmoil, as well as binary thinking. Don't get stuck in details and mind your communications. Some may also feel a grandeur sense of possibility and motivation this month with diligence, direction and clarity in worldly actions. Mind your mental body right now and don't let it overrule you! Additionally, mind your gut. Both are essential for sharp intuitive guidance. Meditation may be extra helpful this month when the mental body feels overwhelming. Wednesday, September 17th Today's Intention: Be intentional with your imagination. Work consciously with your mental body and let the wisdom of the emotional and physical bodies inform your needs. Mercury and Rahu are in exact conjunction today. Use yesterday's reminders and be diligent with taming your mental body. Let the 3 levels of awareness inform you needs. It may help to get out of excess details. Zoom out. Moon moves to Punarvasu at 14:08 CDT where Aditi and Jupiter offer a more gentle approach to us. Can we soften and listen to their guidance? Aditi and Jupiter bring expansion, wisdom and insight. Their thoughtful universality may help us smooth out the previous days of tension and mental agitation. Still, the mental body is wound a bit tight right now and needs to be reminded to relax. Expect that you will be needing to do this consciously. When you pick up the mental body awareness and bring presence to the thoughts that are coming, keep the reminder alive that the mental body is also the imaginal realm. We get to create whatever we want here. Pay attention, however, to the response of the emotional body and the physical body. Harvest the sensations and awareness that comes to you and take it into movement, art and songs. Get your stories moving and get embodied! Thursday, September 18th Today's Intention: Seek nourishment through the dance of open and close dynamics. What are you inviting in and what are closing off to? Sync with the rhythm of your heart and your breath. Moon moves from Gemini into its own sign, Cancer, at 10:10 am CDT and then moves into Pushya nakshatra at 16:53 CDT. In Cancer, Moon conjuncts exalted Jupiter and receives drishti (gaze) from both Ketu and Saturn. This increases the expansion/contraction themes at play as well as insights into our attachments. Pushya is ruled by Brihaspati (Jupiter deified) as well as Saturn. With the Cancer experience, our attention on boundaries, open and close dynamics and expansion and contraction are enlivened. Yet Pushya provides nourishment as a mother cow gives milk to her calf. Pay attention to how you are being nourished and what is providing this nourishment. Where can you feel this sensation in the body? At the same time be present to what you are inviting in and closing off to. Be conscious about your boundaries- energetic, personal and within relationships. Listen to what your needs are and attend to yourself with compassion, self care and sensitivity. Need to remember how to get back home? Use my recent creative ritual for tending to your need for comfort. Friday, September 19th Today's Intention: What deceptions and illusions are keeping you from your own sense of nourishment? Themes from the previous day about boundaries, nourishment and the rhythm of the heart prevail. Work consciously with the heart rhythm, the chest and ribcase area, as well as the breath. Let your inhales and exhales move you and explore their effects on your body. This is nature's natural expression of open and close dynamics. Sync with your innate rhythm. Need a reminder about how the 3 levels of awareness can help you navigate your inner needs? Moon moves into Ashlesha nakshatra at 19:50 CDT and Sarpa emerges. Moon joins Jupiter in this nakshatra as well so we will likely get a magnification of these nourishment and boundary concerns. Ashlesha is ruled by Mercury (mental body) and Sarpa, a snake who navigates deception and illusion. Look for mental body snags and snares and an intensity with what is being churned up inside of you. We may be questioning ourselves more today and questioning our ability to find support and comfort. Remember to come back to the sensation of nourishment in your body. Where do you feel it? How does it emerge? The body's messages will lead you to awareness. Mercury is sandhi and moving to the edge of its sign of exaltation (Virgo), poised to move into Libra. Take this mental intensity into consideration. As the Moon continues to empty and lose light, we may be feeling this turning inward more as well. Let this time of inner exploration be intentional. Moon is now in the 12th tithi of the waning cycle. Use this time for increased awareness. Saturday, September 20th Today's Intention: Life is movement, shifts and changes. The mental body is no different. Move it, help it move and be witness to its movements. Moon continues to transit Ashlesha nakshatra today. There may be a continued sense of churning and agitation in the mental body as a result of transiting Mercury. Since Mercury is sandhi and moving to the edge of its sign of exaltation (Virgo), poised to move into Libra, a certain level of mental intensity should be taken into consideration. Continue to resource nourishment and small moments of comfort. Let these moments inform the nourishment you need, how you feel it and where you feel it in the physical body. How can this sensation of comfort be a valuable resource for you as you continue to navigate you needs? Need to remember how to get back home? Use my recent creative ritual for tending to this awareness of comfort. Mercury moves to Libra at 15:19 CDT joining exalted Saturn here. This transit brings forward momentum and the retrograde motion of Mercury as well. Mercury moves quickly and reminds us of the constant changes of the mind. He will be in Libra now until he moves back into Virgo on 10.16. His movement into Libra helps us touch upon greater balance, our needs within our relationships, and can provide support with commerce and business. Expect swift movement and momentum. Try not to get lost and blown away in the wind. Moon moves to Leo and jumps into Magha nakshatra at 22:51 CDT. Sunday, September 21st Today's Intention: Empty and release what is not yours. Invite in and hold sacred the parts you wish to keep as your own. Moon transits Leo and Magha nakshatra, enlivening Ketu's influence as well as Pitr- the ancestors. Moon also joins Venus in Leo. Creativity and connection may be extra quick and/or harsh today. We may be influenced more by our ancestors in our thoughts and actions. Be aware of your relationship with these influences and see how they impact your needs. Do you need connection or alone time? Memories or release from the past? Take a moment at least to honor your lineage for what it is, what it has brought to you. How it has helped you arrive at this moment on your map of evolution? Find some gratitude for your roots. Moon is slowly emptying and moves to the 14th tithi of the waning cycle late in the evening. What have you been releasing over the past few weeks and what are you ready to finally let go of now? New Moon is on the 24th as Navaratri begins. This is a very sacred time of year, so let the ancestors help you bring presence to your needs at this time. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. Moon is waning this week. Saturn is now direct after months of retrograde motion. Forward momentum returns to our footsteps and helps the energy of the Mars/Saturn conjunction in Libra ease a bit more. New Moon (amavasya) is on Saturday the 26th. I hope you’ll join me for my new Moon celebration and workshop. Join my new Moon online celebration for some new Moon treats and find out more about my new Moon emotional body workshop!
Monday, July 21st Moon moves into Taurus and exalts just after midnight as Monday starts. Moon is exalted in Krittika nakshatra only until 5:58 am CDT and then goes into its mulitrikona placement after that; still a place where the Moon can express itself nicely and feels resilient and open. Moon receives drishti (gaze) from both Mars and Rahu here. This can offer us the ability to work with the emotional body in new and unusual ways since Rahu has newly entered Virgo and he is still in the gap (sandhi) in the 29 degree range. Anger may be a red hot resource for us as well. Don't negate its messages. We may feel our critical edge being tested, a bit grumpy or challenged as a result. We may also be working with themes of abundance, monetary wealth and our stability as a result (or lack thereof). Today may feel a bit hard and soft at the same time. How can this sense of polarity offer us insight into our needs and desires? Krittika nakshatra is ruled by Agni, the sacred fire god of life, transformation and change. We may begin to feel changes and shifts today in our emotional body as a result. How does this emotional shift effect your physical and mental body experiences as well? Tend to your heart fire today- your digestive fires, your life fires. Stoke the flames with small tinder and fan the flames gently, with compassion and gentleness. Moon moves to Rohini nakshatra at 19:21 CDT. Tuesday, July 22nd Today, I celebrate my 34th re-birth. Thank you all for your continued support and for growing and expanding with me and my dharmic work. This is the biggest gift a soul can ask for. You are one of my birthday gifts and I cherish you! Here's to another year of growth, vision, jyoti (light) and creative abundance. Sending my warmth and blessings to each of you! xo Moon continues in Taurus today and is in the auspicious lunar constellation of Rohini nakshatra. Ruled by lord Brahma, who created the entire universe from his navel, this nakshatra exemplifies the human potential- brimming with creativity and fulfillment of material desires. Goddess Saraswati is the consort of Brahma; she is our creative life force connected to music, the arts, knowledge and wisdom. This dynamic of Saraswati and Brahma together allows the sparks of creative potential to be acted upon and then materialized. Use both to capture the full offerings of this day. With Mars and Rahu's drishti still on the Moon, unusual and foreign creativity can be activated and cultivated today with new action steps. Dream big, think big, create big. Plant seeds with artistic actions and water these desires with thoughtful action steps. Dance, sing, paint, create today. Let the universe hear your heart songs and go for the gold. Let the heart swell and swim with the vastness of it. Moon is waning and we are turning our attention/intention inward now naturally. Tend to the inner senses and cultivate presence with your own fragility as we become fully empty. Now is a good time to start self tracking. Use the theme of letting go, releasing and emptiness for your personal inquiry. Join me for my new Moon online celebration where I will be sharing some creative rituals for this new Moon. All who join will be entered to win some new Moon gifts! Moon moves to Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 21:11 CDT. Wednesday, July 23rd Moon transits Mrigashirsha nakshatra and moves into Gemini at 10:15 am CDT joining Venus and Mercury there. Chandra (the Sanskrit name for the Moon) rules Mrigashirsha as well as the deity Soma, which is another name for the Moon personified. The planetary ruler here is Mars who connects to all earth and grounding matters, like soil and homes. It is the plants of the earth that offer us Soma, through their divine nectar, saps and juiciness. It is the Moon that fills the plants with sap. Thus the connections between Mars, Moon and Soma. Mrigashirsha is symbolic of growth, ojas, procreative powers and creative acts that give nourishment. Through foods, creative expression, with movement and change, as well as poignant action steps, seek nourishment today. Invite in Soma, the nectar of life and let the sap of life nourish and support you. Mercury moves into the latter half of Gemini and into Punarvasu nakshatra at 9:24 am CDT, inviting in another layer of nourishment with Aditi, the mother of Oneness and all goodness. She helps us expand, find nourishment through wisdom and acquire knowledge through experience. In the coming days, allow Aditi to nourish your mental body, to invite in awareness through life experiences, and let this wisdom nourish your actions, choices and direction. Moon moves to Ardra nakshatra at 23:24 CDT. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Thursday, July 24th Moon travels through Ardra nakshatra today and enlivens Rudra, the storm god, and the planet Rahu. Rudra is powerful- whether this power is used for change, movement and momentum or emotional upheaval and chaos, the essential element of his nature is destruction. Destruction is a necessary component of change. We must deconstruct before we can reconstruct, or construct anything for that matter. He is a vital part of our change process and helps us with our confrontation process as well. It is in this part of the change process that we usually get angry or have a strong emotional expression. This is when you know that you are onto something big- a big change. The bigger the emotion, the bigger the change. Be sure to use a three level check in today at least once in order to clearly identify the felt senses. Additionally, Jupiter and Sun are in exact degrees today, a very tight combustion (solar burn). The guru, teacher, is getting burned by the source of light, Sun. This can make for a "hot seat" which can be uncomfortable to say the least. Look for agitation and anger and inquire about where these emotions are coming from within you. What is the underlying need? On the other hand, this combination can be highly activating for teaching, sharing wisdom, insights and jyoti (light). Take an action step toward today with your gifts; sharing, offering, giving. Give gratitude to soften the overly activating energy of this combination. Let the emotional body have its way with you today. Moon in Gemini with Mercury and Venus, while Venus is simultaneously in Ardra as well, insures that relationships may be the focus of our emotional upheavals. We also have the opportunity to use creative resources and tools to maximize our awareness and the change factor. Take your emotions into painting, drawing, writing, dancing and sounding. Do not cut and paste over your feelings today or suppress them. They will only come out later down the road in more destructive ways. Use your feelings with intelligence today. Deconstruct, reconstruct, with awareness. Are you joining me for my new Moon celebration online and my new Moon workshop? Friday, July 25th Moon moves to Punarvasu nakshatra at 1:54 am CDT enlivening Aditi and Jupiter and offering us each a taste of expansion; the essence of experiential awareness if we choose to open and extend ourselves to it. The "mother of all goodness" brings with her a sense of universal oneness and our interconnectedness. Notice if there are moments in your day where this offering arrives. Moon moves into the 15th tithi, the final waning Moon phase, at 15:27 CDT, inviting in an empty cup. Are you joining me for my new Moon celebration online and my new Moon workshop? As Moon moves into its own sign of Cancer at 21:56 CDT, the senses shift as does our felt sense. Here, the Moon joins exalted Jupiter and Sun and receives drishti (gaze) from Saturn and Ketu. This combination could bring about mental/emotional exhaustion and a sense of "overdoing it". Be mindful through the weekend of when your emotional body tells you to stop, slow down, change directions, or make a shift somehow. Saturday, July 26th Moon is in its own sign of Cancer with Sun, and exalted Jupiter here as well. All receive drishti (gaze) from Saturn and Ketu. Moon moves into Pushya nakshatra at 4:38 am CDT. Be sure to join me for my new Moon workshop today at 12:00 CDT. Moon crosses over exalted Jupiter and conjoins Sun as it fully empties its light in the 15th and final tithi (Moon phase). New Moon is today in Cancer at 17:41 CDT while in Pushya nakshatra. Sun, Moon and exalted Jupiter are all in Pushya, the nourishing star at this time. This is a profoundly symbolic cosmic expression of what we are moving towards in the coming waxing cycle. The coming weeks offer a theme of finding increased nourishment. Knowing what this is, what it feels like, and how we cultivate its presence within ourselves and our lives is worthy of our attention and intention. Perhaps nourishment arrives with knowledge and wisdom, comforts and support, kindness and gratitude, increased synchronization of Nature and her rhythms. Perhaps it comes with the gentleness of the breath and taking in life more easefully. Take note of what you are opening to and the many ways and means that offer you nourishment and fulfillment in the coming cycle. What are you filling your cup with? What are you inviting into your being, into your life? Let the awareness of vitality and nourishment be your guide. Trust your emotional body to be your compass, your guide. Sunday, July 27th Mars moves into Swati nakshatra at 6:01 am CDT. Rahu and Vayu, the wind god, invite in a sense of urgency, movement and momentum. Don't get lost in the forced agenda of this combination. Mars is still conjunct exalted Saturn and it's important to head to his messages and desires for slow and steady action. Mars and Vayu have needs of swiftness and quickness. This can intensify frustrations, agitations and anger and cause us to act in imbalanced ways. If you notice yourself rushing, forcing, pushing for results, consider this your warning. It's a waste of your energy and will cause greater issues in the long run. Take action, but let Saturn lead the way with stability, focus, sustainability, timeliness and deep surrender. Moon moves into Ashlesha nakshatra at 7:32 am CDT, enlivening Sarpa and Mercury. Serpent energy slides into our lives today and is evoked through Nature. How can Sarpa offer some awakening and evoke our inner treasures? The serpent energy invites in transformation, awakening and change. The dark side of Sarpa is illusions and deceptions, very Rahu like shadows. We have some options though in how we use our serpent energy, and what we are evoking, invoking and inviting in. How do you want to use your serpent energy today? Mercury moves to the edge of its own sign Gemini and is poised for change, pushing into Cancer tomorrow, where it will join exalted Jupiter and Sun there. As Mercury moves to the edge of Gemini, the portal opens, inviting in a rare opportunity to unite mental body and emotional body. Be sure to take time to harvest this potential and listen carefully. What can be accomplished when mind and emotions unite and find a sense of harmony? Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Never miss my Moon Mind Calendar. Sign up for my newsletter. And if you like this post, please share it! Moon is waning until Thursday. New Moon is on Friday in the early morning hours- in Gemini and Ardra nakshatra.
Monday, June 23rd Moon transits Aries and moves from Bharani to Krittika nakshatra at 12:30 CDT, enlivening the Sun and Agni- the fire of life. Internal and external flames intensify, heat and passion, anger and aggression are fanned. These energies are heightened as a result of Mars's direct gaze 8 houses away. With Sun now in Ardra nakshatra in close proximity to retrograde Mercury, the mind is likely to have an edge to it. Have you noticed? Or are you blaming it on everyone else? Is the past haunting you? Moon will be sandhi the majority of the afternoon, moving to the edge of Aries. It jumps into Taurus at 18:48 CDT, assuming its position and degrees of exaltation. A rare example of how sandhi degrees (when a planet is in the gap between signs) can actually be a strong placement. Read more about sandhi in my recent article: Living in Limbo. Moon joins Venus in Taurus, who is nicely placed in its own sign right now. Moon is friendly to everyone, however, Venus isn't fond of the Moon. These two, however, are out of the gaze of the other planets right now so this will allow them to share and shine. Look for some strong waves of creativity, inner flow and fluidity, movement and grace. Dance, sing, make art. Let your creative acts stoke your inner flames tonight. Watch how you relate to others and don't lash out. Instead, use your emotions to deepen your inner relationship. Tuesday, June 24th Moon is exalted and in Krittika nakshatra enlivening the Sun and Agni. Heat and fire rule the first half of the day. Work with themes of cutting, clearing, purification and transformation. Just after midday, Moon moves into Rohini nakshatra at 13:48 CDT, having crossed over Venus by this point. In this position, Moon moves from exaltation into mulitrikona, but is still a strong placement for it, out of the gaze of other planets. Our creativity is intensified. Are ideas percolating and gathering steam? Keep a piece of paper and a pen near by and have your journal handy for doodles, sketches and list making. Take your sketches into dancing, let your dancing become paintings. Move, flow, and let the creativity move you and be moved by you. Sing, communicate, share, connect. Wednesday, June 25th The first half of the day, Moon continues through Rohini nakshatra. The creative suggestions from yesterday still apply. Keep a piece of paper and a pen near by and have your journal handy for doodles, sketches and list making. Take your sketches into dancing, let your dancing become paintings. Move, flow, and let the creativity move you and be moved by you. Sing, communicate, share, connect. As Moon moves into Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 15:28 CDT, instant change occurs. The pace of the deer and its swiftness carries us into action, movement and momentum. Can you feel the shift take place within you? Think in terms of action steps. Soma and Mars are enlivened with this nakshatra, life giving qualities surface and offer their sustenance. What life giving nourishment can you move towards? Pay attention for the messages maybe strong or they may be subtle. Thursday, June 26th Moon crosses into Gemini in the early hours of the morning at 04:26 am CDT, though still in Mrigashirsha nakshatra. It joins retrograde Mercury in this nakshatra and Sun in Ardra nakshatra. These three planets receive gaze from Rahu nine houses away, intensifying the mental/emotional edge and our shadow issues. Moon crosses directly over Mercury around 7:30 am CDT which will likely intensify the mental body tussle with the emotions. Make your daily to-do list over breakfast and if you can start your day with a more gentle approach, do it. Try meditation, gentle yoga, a quiet walk outdoors. This is a good day to count to ten before speaking and to get plenty of fresh air and physical movement. Get out of the head and into the body! Ready to take action? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop today where we explore Mars and action steps. Venus moves into Rohini nakshatra at 17:08 CDT. Expect creativity to be flowing in the coming weeks! Get out your paints, dance, draw, sing, write. Share your work with others. Be nourished by your creativity and let others nourish you with theirs. This placement of Venus may help our sense of security and thriving. Let the abundance flow towards you and through you. Moon moves to Ardra nakshatra at 17:29 CDT as it nears the Sun. Emotions intensify with Rudra and Rahu heightened here, so watch yourself and don't let the mind get away with its usual shenanigans. Inner tracking will be important to avoid overwhelm. At this time, Moon is already well into the 15th tithi, the final phase of its waning cycle. Do a three level check in for greater awareness. Friday, June 27th Moon transits Gemini with retrograde Mercury and Sun. All receive drishti from a very sandhi Rahu. New Moon is at 3:08 am CDT while in Gemini and Ardra nakshatra. Ruled by Rudra and Rahu, Ardra nakshatra brings with it a certain intensity- whether through the emotions or through physical movement and change; think forcefulness. Rudra is connected to storms, storm energy, as well as prana as he is the father of the Maruts, or inner winds. Externally he manifests as a storm god; internally he manifests as the five types of Prana within the body. Harnessing the winds can be powerful for inner change or outer change. His association with anger and intense emotion is an example of his abilities with power. Anger after all is extremely powerful and is a form of passion and strength. How will you use this strength? This New Moon is not the silent, soft and quiet kind. For there is immense power available to us at this time. It is quiet and inward as any empty new Moon is, yet be mindful of the power available within this silence. What are you creating? Cultivating? And inviting in at this time? What is your relationship to the inner and outer winds? Start your day off with meditation, pranayama and yoga. Get the inner prana moving and in this new waxing cycle upon us, attend to the needs of the inner winds. Emotional well being is intimately related to physical well being. Use this coming cycle to attend to your inner dynamics. Work with emotions directly and note where the challenges arrive. Are you attending to your needs? Letting the mind run the show? Bypassing the emotions? Does the body have a message for you that you have been neglecting to listen to? Listen closely for clues and your inner wisdom. Do a three level check in for greater awareness. Moon moves to Punarvasu nakshatra at 19:49 CDT, enlivening Jupiter and Aditi energy. Saturday, June 28th Mars moves from Hasta nakshatra into Chitra nakshatra at 6:36 am CDT. Mars and Rahu are nearing each other as we prepare for their exact conjunction in the coming weeks. This is a very intense and charged time so be mindful of these energetics in general with regard to your Self, life and relationships. Mars will be in Chitra for roughly a month (through the end of July). This nakshatra is ruled by Mars (heat, passion, aggression, action) and the deity Vishvakarma. He is the "cosmic architect" who loves to create, build, plan and orchestrate. The action oriented association to the planet Mars (both within the nakshatra and by Mars's transit through Chitra) insures that foundations will be laid, steps will be taken and changes will be amplified. Par for the course as we look at the grande planetary shifts happening right now and in the coming weeks! Change is here! Moon transits Gemini with retrograde Mercury, and Sun and is in Punarvasu nakshatra. Aditi, mother of all goodness and unity is enlivened as well as the planet Jupiter. Perhaps you can feel the expansion and a greater smoothness enter your mind as a result of the Moon's shift. As it nears the gap midday, the softness heightens and offers an opening to us. What is coming through the portal for you? Jupiter is a sign away, exalted in Cancer, and can offer some awareness. Are you inviting it in yet? Are you in Houston? Join me at Bayou Bliss Yoga for my Jupiter workshop. Need a virtual workshop instead? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop online tomorrow instead. Moon moves into Cancer, its own sign, joining exalted Jupiter there at 15:45 CDT. Both receive drishti from retrograde Saturn in this position. Jupiter has gained strength at this point and is now over the two degree mark which helps our sense of stability, expansion and wisdom. Jupiter and Moon basque in each others radiance as Moon crosses over him. They both offer a gentle awareness to us through heart, emotions, and expanded wisdom. Let it flow. Look for sweet balms of the heart and emotions today. What soothes, nurtures and flows toward you? Feeling restricted and collapsed? This can be from Saturn's gaze. Be easy with the opening. You don't have to force it. Just be willing to invite in, expand and grow. Moon moves into Pushya nakshatra at 22:26 CDT. Sunday, June 29th Moon transits its own sign of Cancer and Pushya nakshatra with exalted Jupiter. Both receive drishti from retrograde Saturn in this position. Jupiter has gained strength at this point and is over the two degree mark which helps our sense of stability, expansion and wisdom. Pushya provides nourishment from Brihaspati (a personified Jupiter) and the planet Saturn. The symbol is the udder of a cow, who offers nourishment to her calf. This is the nourishment palpable with Pushya nakshatra. What is flowing towards you? Away from you? What are you inviting in? Where is the flow being obstructed? Our nourishment and sense of nourishment is directly connected to how able we are to receive. This is a vulnerable position, unlike the position of giving, which is the power position. Today, think in terms of balancing both the give and receive and notice how vital they are to each other. They are truly interrelated functions required for getting our needs met from life, relationships and our environment. Using the metaphor of inhale and exhale, the dance of the life force can be a potent tool of awareness. Use my Jupiter expand/contract workshop for more insights. Ready to take action?
