This is a powerful week! Mercury is retrograde, and the full Moon on Wednesday brings with it a full lunar eclipse. We enter a delicate two week period between lunar and solar eclipses at this time. Take this into consideration with your actions and intentions. We are working with shadow and illusions in this gap of time. Dance with them intentionally and may you lift the veil of illusion in some new way!
Monday, October 6th Today’s Intention: Take one step at a time. Take each step with intention. Keep your commitment to grounding, while finding your balance. But keep moving. Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra at 03:12 am CDT, inviting in Ajaikapada and another level of Jupiter into our day. Moon is receiving drishti from Mars while it transits Aquarius, which offers charge, action and increased fire. Purvabhadrapada is connected to tapas and penance. Ajaikapada is a form of Shiva, lord of the dance, and reminds us of our human capabilities- balancing struggles, challenges and obstacles as we move forward in life. Pada means foot. It is essential to remember slow, simple steps again today. As Ajaikapada dances, he balances, one foot raised, and one foot firmly grounded. There is a certain purpose, a direct gaze (drishti) and a strong commitment that one must have to keep this sense of balance and grounding simultaneously. These are your reminders for today. Slow, steady steps, using great commitment and purpose as you move. Intention will be a poignant reminder as well. Since Ajaikapada is a Rudra, there is immense strength available here. At what costs are you willing to move forward? Lighten your load, it will make it easier to dance through life. Moon moves to Pisces at 19:25 CDT, joining Ketu there. Moon receives drishti from debilitated Venus, Sun and also Rahu, as well as Jupiter from nine houses away. This will intensify our experience over the next few days leading into the full Moon. More on this in my upcoming Moon Mind Calendar and Full Moon Wisdom article. Tuesday October, 7th Today's Intention: The desire to change ourselves and our lives, requires that we dig deeply down into our depths. Moon transits Pisces with Ketu there as well. Moon and Ketu both receive ample gaze from debilitated Venus, Sun and also Rahu, as well as Jupiter from nine houses away. This will intensify our experience over the next few days leading into the full Moon tomorrow. Just after midnight, Moon jumps into Uttarabhadrapada at 00:51 am CDT. This nakshatra is the latter half of the bhadrapada constellation which symbolizes the front half and back half of a funeral cot; death, transformation and letting go are the focus here. Uttarabhadrapada is ruled by Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the deep. He is a naga serpent connected to wisdom (not a sarpa serpent connected to illusions) which indicates his immense and vast knowledge- knowledge and wisdom that must be excavated deeply for. He is connected to our subconscious mind, the pieces of our being that are ruling us, but that we must work hard to uncover and transform. He is a serpent, but a serpent we can work with, learn and grow from. The back legs of a funeral cot symbolize that Uttarabhadrapada is helping us liberate, let go of and let the pieces of our story move, change and release. Yesterday we began a very intentional dance- moving us towards the full Moon lunar eclipse and waning Moon cycle. Today, let that dance transform into a very intentional release. What shadows and demons are you ready to release, transform and let go of? The Moon is already in the 15th tithi, the final phase of its waxing phase. Our cups are full and overflowing. It's time to release and let go. Do this with poignancy, intention and commitment as we embark on this final eclipse cycle of the year. Moon moves to Revati nakshatra at 22:38 CDT, nearing exact conjunction with Ketu. Wednesday, October 8th Today's Intention: Total eclipse of the heart. Soften and release, but courageously look at your shadows. Moon will be completely full at 05:49 am CDT while in Pisces and Revati nakshatra. Simultaneously, there will be a lunar eclipse occurring. The eclipse begins at 03:17 am CDT and continues until 08:32 am CDT. The maximum part of the eclipse will be at 05:55 am CDT. Moon in Revati nakshatra at the time of the eclipse in Pisces furthers the symbol of release, endings and letting go while strengthening themes of its ruling planet Mercury. Pushan, the ruling deity of Revati, insures our safe passage and travels, and requests simplicity and purity. He is a protector and helps us find our way back to the path when we are lost. He also can help us retrieve lost or stolen items. This is a special waning Moon cycle that offers us many returns, on multiple levels. Be willing and open to receive messages that will help you strengthen your path, return to and restore your sense of well being, hope and possibility. Be open to comfort and nourishment and reminders that life doesn't have to be hard and forced- it can be lighter and more gentle. This requires us to clear away rubble, debris and anything blocking our path, so vital clearing is truly essential during this eclipse cycle. For full details on the eclipse and the coming waning Moon cycle read my Full Moon Wisdom article. Moon jumps into Aries at 20:44 CDT and into Ashwini nakshatra. Thursday, October 9th Today's Intention: Don't get led by your senses. Reign in your horses. As Moon transits Aries in Ashwini nakshatra, our two week eclipse cycle begins with the Ashwini-Kumara twins leading us towards healing and revitalization. Moon also receives drishti (gaze) directly from exalted Saturn and retrograde Mercury. The Ashwini twins enliven the healing arts and beckon us to rejuvenate through healing modalities such as rasayana treatments and using the creative arts to spark change and vitality within us. Ayurveda is their domain and strength comes as a gift of their healing, symbolized here by a horse. The Ayurvedic strengthening herb, Ashwagandha, is connected to the horse and the root word ashva. Today, make sure self care is a top priority. The two weeks between lunar and solar eclipse, and also the gap between summer and winter (fall), is a delicate time for health and well being. It's a sandhi time, so treat yourself with extra TLC. Start your fall cleanse today if you haven't already. I'm unveiling my new Swati Jr Jewelry collection today. The new Cosmic Collection is inspired by our dance with the Sun, Moon and Stars. Have you joined my FB event? I'll be giving gifts, incentives, discounts and more! Join the trunk show event and get in on the goodies! Moon moves to Bharani nakshatra at 19:16 CDT. Friday, October 10th Today's Intention: Strength and sensitivity go hand in hand. Your vulnerability is your power. Moon transits Bharani nakshatra, ruled by Yama and Venus. Yama brings restraint and is considered the king of dharma, because he determines your karmas at the time of your death. It is through the self control and restraint he provokes that can keep us out of suffering and sin, our own misery. This is a harsh and aggressive nakshatra, one that is ideal for butchering and killing as well as arguments and attacks. The irony is that it is also an extremely sensitive star as seen through its symbol, the yoni. Strength and sensitivity are the perfect pair. Our shadows, our weaknesses, are indeed our greatest gifts. It takes much courage, strength and power to overcome (to kill) our shadows and illusions. Make your actions count and firmly restrain yourself from being led my your asuras (demons). Purify yourself, but always strive for balance. Sun moves to Chitra nakshatra at 13:41 CDT, joining retrograde Mercury and Rahu in this nakshatra. Ruled by Vishvakarma, this is a nakshatra of action, plans and taking powerful, creative steps. The coming weeks are a time to get powerful and poignant, though as Sun nears Rahu, imbalances in our sense of poignancy may be problematic. If there's hesitancy, confusion or lack of clear direction, these are your shadows at play. If you're pushing too hard and forcing outcomes, you are not aligned with the times. Be bold and passionate with your desires, but make sure you are listening to your emotional body wisdom, your intuition, for guidance. Set goals and priorities and get organized! Get creative as the celestial architect Vishvakarma is here to help you rise and shine! Take some solid action steps towards your visions. This alone might clear the fog. Be diligent with your 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Moon moves to Krittika nakshatra at 18:22 CDT. Saturday, October 11th Today's Intention: In order to gain, we must be prepared to lose something. Moon jumps into its degrees of exaltation and into Taurus just minutes after midnight- at 00:14 am CDT. Exaltation only lasts until 05:34 am CDT, but the Moon will still be in its mulitrikona sign where it can maximize its effects at 75%. With Rahu's drishti on the Moon, watch for big rises and falls. Mars also give his direct gaze, making for a piercing and powerful emotional body. Our Moon tides will be high and low; be mindful of extremes and be diligent with emotional body awareness. Do a 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Moon transits Krittika nakshatra at this time and Agni as well as the Sun share their fire with us. Agni is the fire of life and is a powerful transformational part of our beings. We have many different types of Agni within us. We have much to digest: food, emotions, environments, relationships. Agni helps us burn, clarify and purify all of this in order to help us assimilate the nourishment of life. He brings purification, but he cuts and discards in the process. Within any transformation, there is letting go and loss. Krittika is considered a mixed nakshatra; it is both soft and hard. Though we gain nourishment through Agni, we also have to discard what is unnecessary, not useful for us. Consider this a day of the pruning and purifying process. Moon moves to Rohini at 18:08 CDT. Sunday, October 12th Today's Intention: Merge with your abundant creative flow. Go ahead and get lost in it today. Moon transits Rohini nakshatra and Lord Brahma, as well as the creativity of the Moon, are invited into our day. Moon is still in Taurus, its mulitrikona sign (a strong place for the Moon) while receiving drishti from both Rahu and Mars. Our Moon tides will be high and low; be mindful of extremes and be aware of your emotional body awareness. Be diligent with your 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Rohini is arguably the most creative nakshatra as indicated by its ruler Brahma; he created the universe from his navel after all! It's in this vein, we can create, materialize, and align with our true power as mini gods and goddesses in this life time. Our creativity is in fact our one constant gift- offering possibility and our ability to recreate ourselves and our lives over and over again. Without resiliency and reinventing ourselves, life would be stagnant, without growth, change or abundance. Rohini reminds us to welcome in the flow of creativity, the shakti of life, and to rejoice in the material aspects of life now and again. They are a part of this lila, the play of life, after all. Give thanks for for what flows towards you and through you, and let it continue to flow out into the world. Be that gift. Moon moves to Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 18:38 CDT. Monday, October 13th Today's Intention: Nourish from the inside out. Beauty begins within. Moon transits Mirgashisha nakshatra and Soma (another name for Chandra, the Moon) and also Mars are activated. Nourishment from the divine nectar of Soma is life giving. It lubricates the inner channels of our body and keeps us alive and youthful. Soma is lunar energy, but can be cultivated through the right foods and lifestyle practices. Vaidya Rama Kant Mishra speaks readily about "somagenic" qualities in order to enhance our well being. His lineage, the Shaka Vansya Ayurvedic tradition is a wealth of knowledge for increasing Soma within our bodies, mind and emotions. If you are a Moon child like me, and extra sensitive, you will want to educate yourself on this vital health science. The Moon is a creative and charismatic planet. It's sociable and loves to adorn and be adorned. Moon loves beauty, comfort and nourishment. That is why it is connected to Soma. Build soma within you today with self care, creativity and inviting in the Moon; fill your cup of resiliency. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Monday, September 8th Today's Intention: Connect with your inner waters- now full and expanded. Attend to your swelling tides and nourish your self through right action. Listen to your emotional body wisdom. Moon transits Aquarius and Satabisha nakshatra. Here in Aquarius, Moon receives drishti (gaze) from Venus and Sun in Leo and also from Mars in Scorpio. Ruled by Varuna, the guardian of universal law, Satabisha is connected to unseen (invisible) obstacles and punishment of wrongs. It is through Rahu that these "wrongs" are found. Aquarius however is ruled by Saturn and Rahu so there is a dualism here. And though Varuna is considered an Aditya (one who provides sustenance and support), he does so in a very Saturn-like way which may feel harsh at times. Today, follow the rules of Saturn and attend to your health and wellness. Let the waters within you flow and align with the Laws of Nature. Keep things simple, attend to self care and be mindful of your health. If you are feeling overwhelmed, do a three level check in and try to attend to your underlying needs for support, comfort and nourishment. Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra at 17:02 CDT. Full Moon is in Aquarius and Purvabhadrapada nakshatra on September 8th at 20:38 CDT. The feeling you receive from the Moon may be both depth and pressure as well as increased creativity, curiosity and innovation at this time. Aquarius is ruled by Saturn and Rahu which can bring a dualism, a push and pull, as well as polarities. This full Moon brings with it both a desire and a need to attend to our shadows, our haunts and our illusions. The coming waning cycle will be just that- an opportunity for us to face our demons and our challenges with new insights, possibilities as well as hope. This work may directly and indirectly connect to our lineage matters and the pieces that were forcing your attention/intention over the past waxing Moon cycle. Be attentive to the matters of emotion and heart and look for symbols and messages that cross your path. Read more about the wisdom of the Full Moon and how to work with the coming waning Moon cycle. Tuesday, September 9th Today's Intention: Find steadiness through flow. Go to your depths and linger. Swim with the currents- not against them. Moon transits Purvabhadrapada nakshatra until mid afternoon. Apply the wisdom of Ajaikapada to your day. Take slow intentional steps. Honor your path, your dance of life. Dance, walk, and honor your feet. Slow and steady steps will provide balance and awareness as you move forward. Moon moves into Pisces at 08:59 am CDT, joining Ketu here. Both receive drishti from Rahu and exalted Mercury in Virgo, as well as exalted Jupiter in Cancer. The inner tides are high right now because the Moon is still very full. As Moon moves into the water sign, Pisces, expect some emotional flooding. Let your inner waters move and move you. Are you listening to what your emotions are telling you? Be attentive to the needs under the tears and inner pressure. At 14:20 CDT, Moon moves into the latter half of the funeral cot, Uttarabhadrapada, ruled by Ahirbudhnya. This serpent deity rules the depths, our mystical realms within. As a Rudra, great strength is available through Ahirbudhnya as well as the removal of misfortune and calamity. Today is a great day to see your depths, touch your limits, but move more gently into them. Surrender to your own flow and rhythms. Trust the cycles to move you naturally- without force. Mars moves to Anuradha nakshatra at 18:03 CDT and Mitra enlivens his dance through Scorpio. Friends, details, connections, as well as movement and travel get activated now. Doorways that were previously closed may be opening now. Connect with the right people in order for greater successes. Expand your horizons, reach for your depths, befriend your critic and ask for the support you need to thrive. This is possible with your diligent action steps! Wednesday, September 10th Today's Intention: Be gentle with your mind, body and emotions today. Extra self care and TLC are essential for tending to your sensitivity and receptivity. Moon moves closer to Ketu today and enters Revati nakshatra at 12:00 CDT. Revati is ruled by Pushan, a nourishing and supportive deity who offers support and prosperity for our paths. Ask him for protection on your journey and he will grant you nourishment. When making an offering to him, make sure it does not need to be chewed; he loves milk and porridge. Inner tides are high, the Moon is in a water sign and nearing Ketu, the planet of restructuring. Ketu and Moon bring increased sensitivity, which may be felt through agitation, anger and frustration, resulting in sudden tears. Touch in with your inner waters and your emotional body. A three level check in is essential periodically today. Connect with your emotional body directly and ask it what it needs. Find gentle ways to offer yourself some loving care. Take alone time if necessary and recharge with meditation, a warm bath or some creative harvesting. Use my Full Moon Creative Ritual for insights. Thursday, September 11th Today's Intention: Make self care your top priority today and fill your cup of inner strength. Do at least one thing to nourish your mental body, emotional body and physical body today. As Moon conjuncts with Ketu exactly at 04:46 am CDT, yesterday's suggestions for extra self care and being mindful of sensitivity increase for today- even as Moon begins to separate from the south node. Continuing through Revati nakshatra until 10:11 am CDT, Moon then jumps into Aries and Ashwini nakshatra. This is a tricky junction point (gandanta) in between water (Pisces) and fire (Aries). It's also the movement of Moon into a symbolically hidden realm (12th house matters and Pisces) into the most visible sign of the chart, 1st house and Aries. Be aware that there could be a dramatic shift internally and externally as the Moon shifts- especially because the Moon will be receiving direct gaze from exalted Saturn once in Aries. Ashwini is ruled by Ketu and the Ashwini-Kumara twins, who provide healing and rejuvenation through the healing arts. Strong like a horse, the twins, can provide physical strength and power to us if we use their tools for healing. The arts, music, Ayurveda and rasayana treatments are all part of their tool kit. Today, rejuvenation and self care can go to a deeper level for lasting nourishment and support. Attend to your inner and outer needs diligently today. Let the strength of the Asvini twins help you go the distance. Venus moves into Purvaphalguni nakshatra at 11:16 am CDT. With Sun here as well, we get double the potency from this fertile constellation. Creativity is heightened, as Bhaga offers us fortune and generous opportunities for wealth and prosperity. Increase your flow and passion with arts, dancing, music and creativity right now. Venus is chasing the Sun through the sky these days which is causing our creative waters to increase their passion with the arts, relationships and our sense of self. Fortunately, Sun and Venus are staying about 10 degrees apart for now which keeps the creativity high, without it getting scorched. Use all this extra Venus for greatness. Friday, September 12th Today's Intention: Use art and creativity to transform and transcend. Let go and heal. Multiple levels of Venus are enlivened today! It's Friday, day of Venus, and Sun and Venus are now both in Purvaphalguni nakshatra- ruled by Venus. To add a bit more Venus to the day, the Moon moves into Bharani nakshatra at 09:00 am CDT, also ruled by Venus. Bharani is ruled by Yama, lord of death and king of dharma. He weighs our karmas at the end of our lives and directs our transition into the afterlife. He connects to self control, restraint and morality. Working with Durga can be helpful to overcome the obstacles of Bharani and to help us transform our challenges into learning and growth. Bharani days give us opportunities for "deaths" and transformational experiences. Today, create, share, flow, connect, take strong action steps and move your self today! Get physical and embodied. Don't be surprised by tears, intense emotions, but do work with them consciously. Be willing to navigate the dance between mental, emotional and physical bodies. Have you done a three level check in? Take your harvesting into movement and creative exploration. Get your paints out and explore your emotions. Use water color to work with Venus directly. Saturday, September 13th Today's Intention: Clean and clarify from the inside out. Stoke your inner flames gently. Moon moves into Krittika nakshatra at 08:34 am CDT, enlivening the Sun and Agni on this day of Saturn. While Moon is still transiting Aries, it receives drishti from Saturn which increases sensitivity in our emotional body. It also activates the need for greater embodiment and physical body movement in order to process our emotions more directly. As Agni is the fire of life and responsible for transformations and turning food into our life nourishment, he is an important part of our ability to "digest" life, our experiences and our environment. Tend to your inner flames today and stoke them gently. Fire brings sudden change and cuts attachments so use today intentionally for clearing, cleaning and transforming. Sun moves into Uttaraphalguni at 09:11 am CDT, moving into the latter half of the Phalguni stars. Aryaman offers sustenance, health and physical strength. Let him provide you with the fruits of your labors. Connect, create and relate. Ask the ancestors to guide you with your momentum and building prosperity in the coming weeks. Shine and attract with your light. Attend to and nourish your body. Moon jumps into Taurus at 14:35 CDT and exalts in its position of full expansion. Here, Moon receives drishti from Mars directly and Rahu. This adds a certain intensity to the Moon's experience. Watch for heat, aggression, intense inner flames. You may feel your inner tides increase, expand and swell or extra steam being created! Work directly with your emotions and inner waters and cultivate presence with their needs. Are you befriending your emotions or pushing past them- missing their messages? Sunday, September 14th Today's Intention: Unleash your wild creativity! Spread your wings and fling paint towards the stars. Let your breath move you. Listen to your innate greatness and use your gifts. Moon moves into Rohini nakshatra at 08:55 am CDT and is considered mulitrikona now as it transits through Taurus. Receiving drishti from Mars and Rahu increases the intensity of the Moon and felt senses right now. Are you attending to your needs or pushing past them? Rohini is an intensely creative star. Ruled by Lord Brahma and the Moon, this nakshatra provides palpable creative potential. It was Lord Brahma after all who created the universe from his navel. His wife is goddess Saraswati, the illustrious goddess of wisdom, art, music, and knowledge. Children are also connected to Rohini since creating them is the epitome of human's creative potential and a way to honor the ancestors. Create, move, share, and get inspired today! What brings you joy and harnesses your inner creativity? Dance and sing, draw and paint. Connect and co-create. Let your inner light shine and expand your horizons with your creative acts. Re-visit my Creative Ritual if you need a jump start. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. Here we are, after the storm so to speak. Such immense shifts this past week/end. Moon is waning and losing its nectar, its light, drop by drop. The light is lessening now, as we move towards amavasya (emptiness).
Join me on FaceBook during the new Moon for my July New Moon Online Celebration. I'll be offering a special creative ritual, some gifts and incentives for all who enter and so much more. Join me here. Monday, July 14th Moon transits Dhanishta nakshatra and moves into Aquarius at 12:09 pm CDT and is out of the gaze of the other planets. Dhanishta is ruled by the Vasu Devas. These gods bring us shining and prosperity and are connected to jyoti, light. They help us manifest on the material plane of existence. Aum namo bhagavate, vasudevaya calls in this frequency. Rahu and Ketu are in early degrees, still in the sandhi gap, having newly entered Virgo and Pisces. Mars is very young in degrees, having just entered Libra, joining a retrograde Saturn there. Venus gains strength in degrees now in Gemini. Sun moves into sandhi this evening as it prepares to move into Cancer. Multiple planets are doing swift, changeable dances right now. Each of us is likely feeling a mixture of uncertainty and possibility, which offers a sense of excitement. Be sure to take time for the silence and stillness- especially with these planets in sandhi right now. This is sacred ground, where ideas manifest from the Absolute. Go too fast and you'll miss the sacred messages possible right now. There will be plenty of time to take action, but for now basque in the softness and gentle nothingness that is available to us. Gently plant your seeds of desire. Read more about sandhi planets and their impact. Moon moves to Satabisha nakshatra at 22:50 CDT. Tuesday, July 15th Moon transits Satabisha nakshatra ruled by Varuna and Rahu. Varuna guards Natural Law and can heighten our critic as he's known for his judgement. Taking care of health and doing what we know to do, what is best practice and in alignment with universal wisdom, is especially important on Satabisha days. If you find your self in tango with your critic, this is a perfect time to hit the pause button and do a check in. First of all, notice where in the body this critic is working his charm. Do you feel tightness in the chest, shortness of breath or even a headache? The body has wisdom to share with you, so listen up. Start with a three level check in and bring focus to the mental, emotional and physical bodies. Then ask each body for answers: what do I need right now? Find solutions for what plagues with a gentle approach, not forced. The critic often arrives as a form of "protection". What are you seeking protection from? Moon moves to PurvaBhadrapada at 20:30 CDT which invites in a sense of being in two worlds and working with impossible feats. Tonight, take a walk and listen to your feet. Wednesday, July 16th Moon transits PurvaBhadrapada and Ajaikapada is enlivened as well as the planet Jupiter. This lunar constellation refers to a form of Shiva standing on one leg, known as Nataraja, lord of the dance, which essentially refers to this "dance of life" we are all in. What an impossible dance this is! A balancing act, a grounding at times, and a moving and lifting our feet into the unknown at other times- each step uncertain and yet full of potential. What are you stepping towards? What are you stepping away from? What does the path look like as it unfolds in front of you? Listen to your feet for wisdom. Take intentional steps today. Sun moves to Cancer, joining exalted Jupiter there, at 10:58 am CDT. Get ready for passionate, heart expansion in the coming weeks. Sun is in Cancer until 8.17, so enjoy this time of deepening compassion- for self and others. Who and what is teaching you, helping you unfold and develop your heart? Tend to these needs in the coming weeks and rise to the occasion. Rise into service and lead with your heart. Teach, guide and share with fullness, but let your heart wisdom guide you. This is a perfect time to let the emotional body set the pace and choose the direction. Have you joined my FB event yet for the new Moon? I'll be helping you explore the emotional body with creative rituals during the silent part of the month. Moon moves to Pisces at 13:05 CDT joining Ketu there and receiving drishti from Rahu in Virgo, seven houses away. Exalted Jupiter gives his drishti/gaze from Cancer nine houses away. Let sudden expansion and bursts of insight lead you. Moon moves to UttaraBhadrapada at 18:41 CDT, enlivening Ahirbudhnya and Saturn for the rest of the day/night. This serpent of the nether worlds invites us to dive beneath the surface and explore the depth of our existence. Illusions are in our midst and magic is among us. What secrets are you exploring and what are you hiding from? There is power in the subconscious mind which offers many gifts of awareness. Are you listening? Get ready for some veils to lift; it may be quite swift. Thursday, July 17th The majority of the day has us working with Ahirbudhnya and Saturn energies. He enlivens the nether realms with his serpent energy. Her provokes us to tap into our subconscious mind and awakens the dormant Kundalini energy at the base of the spine. Secret, hidden knowledge is all part of his domain. Illusions are in our midst and magic is among us. What secrets are you exploring and what are you hiding from? There is power in the subconscious mind which offers many gifts of awareness. Are you listening? Get ready for some veils to lift; it may be quite swift. Moon moves from UttaraBhadrapada into Revati at 17:30 CDT. Pushan comes to our aid and Mercury is enlivened. The final nakshatra in the zodiac, Revati symbolizes the path, the journey, and protection for this adventure. Pushan offers us nourishment, support and guidance for the path as well as helping us to find our own hidden treasures. As Moon joins Ketu here in Revati, expect sudden shifts and changes for your path. It may just be mentally, but shifts and changes there will be! Invite them in and trust there is nourishment with this newness. Emotional outbursts are likely. What are your needs and how can you get them met in nourishing and supportive ways? Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Friday, July 18th Moon nears Ketu and mental/emotional firecrackers flare. What does your fire dance look like and feel like? Is there a tussle between these two bodies- mental body and emotional body? What is the mind dictating that contradicts with the emotional body? It will be easy right now (too easy) to let the mental body force its agenda on us, which may ignite the emotions and push us towards confusion, anger, or agitation. Hit the internal pause button and do ample check-ins today. What does your mental body need? What does your emotional body need? By 16:30 CDT Moon and Ketu are in exact degrees and the pressure is on. Sparks are flying and helping you expand, open and explore new territory; the new territory of Ketu in Pisces and Rahu in Virgo. Need a reminder of the themes being enlivened at this time? Read more here. For some, there will be some very rich sparks of insight today. Bring a notebook with you and take notes. Pushan is offering guidance for the journey, but don't blame the messenger. Moon makes the tricky leap from Pisces into Aries at 17:00 CDT. The Ashvini-kumara and Ketu are enlivened and the themes of past 24hrs get some further sparks and ignition. Mars and Saturn give direct gaze from Libra, and offer a "lurching" energy with stops and starts. This may invigorate the yes and no dynamic within us, which can lead to confusion and unrest. Are we ready or aren't we? The Ashvini twins offer healing through rejuvenation and rasayanas. There are magical abilities and strength with these healing gifts. Music and the arts are tools that they use as well as Ayurvedic remedies and treatments. The healing arts are in potent form with Ashwini. Tonight, synch up with Saturn's slowness and allow him to slow you down, stop even. Where can you hit the breaks and surrender to the pace of what is? Silence, softness and massage might be in order. As he deepens his retrograde motion before going direct on the 20th, his intensity can amplify. Let him win right now and avoid the frustrations of working against him simply by surrendering to his ways. Venus moves into Ardra nakshatra at 23:18. Relationship matters, creativity, passion, communication intensify and get the strength of Rudra and Rahu through the end of the month. What way will Rudra's strength take you. We may start out rocky or strong. We may end up a bit scarred and tattered, worn and softened. We will definitely learn a finer art of harnessing the passions within us. Don't get windswept, use the winds as a tool. Have you signed up for my new Moon workshop yet? Saturday, July 19th Yesterday's suggestions prevail until 17:11 CDT when Moon moves into Bharani nakshatra. Venus and Yama are enlivened and offer us a sense of restraint, holding back and deliberation. What needs harsh change of direction today? Yama may offer the confrontation we need to address a certain obstacle or blockage on the path. Confrontation brings awareness; then shift and change can enter. This is a poignant and powerful place to arrive. What are you confronting head on today? In your relationships especially. This includes your relationship with your self, and with others. Don't hold back, go into it, directly. Work with what is, what arrives and invite in the investigation. Mars and Saturn give direct gaze on the Moon from their positions in Libra, and offer a "lurching" energy with ample stops and starts. This may invigorate the yes and no dynamic within us; even binary thinking patterns, which can lead to confusion and unrest. Are we ready or aren't we? Are we letting go or clinging? Inviting in the new awareness or pushing it away? With frustration, anger often arrives as well. What are the deeper messages of this frustration and anger? Ask the anger for answers. As Sun moves into Pushya nakshatra tonight at 22:49 CDT, we may get the softening just in time for the answers to arrive. Sunday, July 20th Bharani stays with us throughout the day. Saturn goes direct after months of retrograde motion at 15:02 CDT. This is a remarkable moment when the wheels of time screech to a halt and suddenly begin chugging forward once again. The intensity of the past days and weeks begin to ease as Saturn directs our momentum forward once again. As a retrograde planet goes into its direct motion, it becomes much more intense. We will likely be feeling this lurch forward in relationships and Libra matters for those of us paying attention. Be gentle with your Self and others- and rejoice! Saturn is no longer debilitated and is once again exalted in Libra. We may now begin to feel the blessings of this position- finally! The themes from Saturday prevail until 17:59 CDT when Moon moves to Krittika nakshatra. Agni, the fire of life, is enlivened as well as the Sun. Cut, clear, purge, transform. Now is the time to step into what you want, and step away from what you don't. Likely Saturn's direct motion now will help us find this clarity. Digest, assimilate, seek nourishment and let Agni help you transform what you have been eating in your life (all of it), into useful energy and resources. Be exact. Be focused. Be alert. Be ready to make changes and allow in the transformations. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Never miss my Moon Mind Calendar. Sign up for my newsletter. And if you like this post, please share it! Find the planetary details in my transit report.
Monday, June 16 Moon transits Capricorn and Sravana nakshatra. Vishnu and his expansiveness as well as the Moon rule over the day. Movement is a key theme for today's experience as Vishnu is said to have traversed the three realms of earth, sky and heaven in three steps. Look for threes today. Use the metaphor of three steps as a key for your actions. Work with the "emergence of the third" and metaphors that include bridging the unknown with the known. What can we bring forth from our depths in order to arrive at a new destination? Vishnu is about expansion, so let your dreams take you to a fuller experience, a more expansive state of mind. Take care of mind/body and spirit today. Saturn energy may slow down the arrival at our desired destination, so work with frustrations consciously. At 16:39 CDT, Moon moves into Dhanishta and we can take the awareness of Sravana into action and implementation. Nourish and be nourished. Create and share your creativity. Let the Vasu Devas help you shine. Mercury has moved back into Mrigashirsha nakshatra in his retrograde dance. He is transiting Gemini with Sun who just entered Gemini and Jupiter who is on his way out. He's feeling the movement, the change, the uncertainty of the other planets and reflecting this to us in our mental body. Frustrations and emotional upheavals are coming from this abundance of movement and change right now. It's palpable. Work with the instability in conscious ways- through dance and creative movement. Find your own metaphors as you move. Use grounding and stabilizing activities as a resource to bring more comfort, calm and support. Find more about this transit in my Transit Report. Tuesday, June 17th Moon moves to Aquarius at 03:35 am CDT and receives drishti (gaze) from Rahu and Jupiter in this position. Moon transits Dhanishta nakshatra. Mars and the Vasu Devas rule the day. The Vasu Devas help us shine and be seen through our gifts. They are sources of illumination and prosperity; literally the light or jyoti. Dhanishta people like to share information and like to be heard- especially through music and creativity. Create, share, take action. Find new ways to get your message out there; get innovative. Moon moves into Satabisha at 14:37 CDT. Rahu and Varuna are enlivened as a result. Guard your health today and take preventative measures for creating wellness. Eat well and nourish your self with good food, proper routine and self care tools. Avoid excess sugar, caffeine, alcohol and intoxicants. Be mindful that on Satabisha days, we may turn excessively critical. This gaze may turn inward or outward- or both. It is a great time to consciously work with our critics and deepen our relationship with them. Why is our critic "helpful" and when does it show up for us? Self tracking is essential in order to find the deeper meaning within our judgement. Wednesday, June 18th Moon transits Aquarius and Satabisha nakshatra until 13:00 CDT receiving drishti (gaze) from Rahu and Jupiter. Many of the suggestions from yesterday apply. At 13:00 CDT Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra ruled by Ajaikapada and Jupiter. With the momentous transits happening, we may feel as though we are in a balancing act as the deity Ajaikapada reminds us (another name for Shiva). Lord Shiva expresses in his dance, one foot firmly rooted, the other lifted and in balance; we can feel this sense of limbo today as the transits intensify. So much is in transition right now, hanging in balance, neither here nor there. Can you feel it? Purvabhadrapada signifies endings, letting go, the funeral cot that symbolizes death and transition. This is where we are right now. At the edge. Letting go. It is a big day of transits and changes. Venus moves to its own sign of Taurus on 06.18 at 07:08 am CDT away from Mars’s drishti and the conjunction of Ketu. This may be the stabilizing force that allows us to make more lasting and life-supporting changes for ourselves during the next month. Just as Venus moves into Taurus, Jupiter makes his momentous change into Gemini later that day at 20:24 CDT. I’ve written extensively on this transit. For greater insights on this 13 month transit visit my Exalted Jupiter articles part one and two. For more details on both of the Venus and Jupiter transits please check my transit report. Thursday, June 19th Moon moves to Pisces at 06:07 am CDT and transits PurvaBhadrapada nakshatra, receiving drishti (gaze) from Mars. The morning starts with influences from Ajaikapada and Jupiter. Jupiter arrives into Cancer officially and Venus settles into its own sign of Taurus as well. Moon receives drishti (gaze) from Jupiter in this position. Look for glimpses of gentleness today and invite in a softer approach to life and relationships. Moon moves into UttaraBhadrapada at 11:53 am CDT which energizes Saturn and Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the depths. This is naga serpent energy though- the kind that brings insights and awareness with excavation below the surface. Dive deep today and explore possibility and purpose. Seek out stability. Sun and retrograde Mercury collide in Gemini causing a heated mind. Issues coming back to haunt you? Noticing old patterns resurfacing? Retrograde Mercury is working his magic on us. Go for precision and exactness, avoid anger and hostility. This combustion receives drishti from Rahu which can heighten the intensity and cloud our awareness. Feeling the heat? Calm down and count to ten before you communicate. Better yet, wait 24 hrs or go meditate before you come to your conclusions. Friday, June 20th Moon moves to Revati at 11:17 am CDT which energizes Mercury and Pushan. Pushan guides us and protects us on our journey, offering us support and nourishment. Look for support, self care, guidance and help today. Ask if you need some extra support or help. Guidance and support is all around us. Often, we just need to be open and receptive to receive it. Moon is being gazed at directly by Mars. Simultaneously Sun and retrograde Mercury are still in close degrees- yesterday’s suggestions still hold true. Issues coming back to haunt you? Noticing old patterns resurfacing? Retrograde Mercury is working his magic on us. The mind is heated and fiery. Great for precision and meticulous thought processes, but anger and hostility can easily surface. This combustion receives drishti from Rahu which can heighten the intensity and cloud our awareness. Feeling the heat? Calm down and count to ten before you communicate. Better yet, wait 24 hrs or go meditate before you come to your conclusions. Saturday, June 21st Solstice occurs on 6.21 at 05:54 am CDT. It is officially summer for the Northern Hemisphere. Moon crosses the tricky junction point between Pisces and Aries at 11:13 am CDT. The morning may be best spent slowly and silently as Moon transitions from water into fire. As Moon enters Aries, it moves into Ashwini nakshatra, nearing Ketu. It also gets drishti from Mars here. As the day takes shape, the fire in us enlivens and Moon collides with Ketu. Use this heat and passion for activation and action steps. Some of us may get instant messages and sudden brilliant ideas! Address anger and agitations head on. Not by forcing your agendas and objectives on others, but by looking within and noticing where the emotion is arising from. How does anger serve you, or how has it served you in your life? It wouldn’t be there unless you relied on it for some reason. Find ways to use it as a resource, a tool of passion and greater inner awareness. Don’t suppress it or lash out at others. Let it to inform your process. Use the day resourcefully. Use healing modalities, purification practices, rasayanas and rejuvenation treatments for getting your needs met. Create, sing, open your artistic channels. Just before midnight, Sun moves into Ardra nakshatra, heightening our connection to Rudra and Rahu until 7.05. Emotional upheaval, intense movement and change, calamities and uncertainties may be increased. Some worldly success may be provided for some in the coming weeks, but watch for excessive cravings simultaneously. This will be an excellent time to navigate our emotional body with very deliberate awareness as we will likely be feeling some passing clouds and stormy weather. Sunday, June 22nd Moon transits Aries and moves into Bharani nakshatra at 11:38 am CDT, enlivening Venus and yama. Transformation, death, release and letting go surface today. The day and its desire may require us to use restraint. Keep it simple. This is an excellent time to cut out attachments. This may be in relationships or simply with house cleaning- or both. We can clean and purge from the inside out. What are you willing to let go and release? What do you no longer need? What needs to be cut loose? What can be restructured in your life so that you have more space for what truly nourishes you? We may also get great clarity today about what we truly need to move forward in our lives. Use this day effectively and invite in transformation. Is this helpful to you? Please share it with at least one friend. Thank you! Plan your week with the planets, sign up for my newsletter. Moon is waning (Krishna Paksha) this week and moves through Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and into Aries. Our attention and intention move inward as the Moon empties.
Sync up with the Moon and its waxes and wanes on a physical level. Learn more in my Flow With the Moon article. Monday, 5.19 Moon transits Capricorn and Sravana nakshatra today. Vishnu and the Moon rule Sravana. Vishnu is all-pervasive, like akasha (space), and connects us to the three realms earth, sky (cosmos) and heaven (universe). The Rg Ved tells us that Vishnu took three steps, traversed these three realms, and he expands our consciousness. Vishnu and Sravana nakshatra connects us to dharma, the oral traditions, wealth and prosperity. Capricorn's ruler, Mars, goes direct today at 20:28 CDT. We can expect the mind, creativity and actions to be moving in a more forward motion now. Be intentional and plan your steps carefully. Sharpen your focus. Set your desires into motion. Take three powerful steps- in honor of Vishnu. Tuesday, 5.20 Moon moves to Dhanishta nakshatra today at 10:00 am CDT. With Dhanishta's planetary ruler being Mars (now direct), we may feel grande momentum today and a strong work ethic in place. Vasu, the presiding deity of this nakshatra, urges us to shine brightly, to achieve excellence and wealth. Dharma is a predominant force here. Today, seek comfort, seek support, seek the spark alive within you. Move towards your shining. Use this mantra to connect to the light (jyoti) that is available to us through the Vasu-Devas: Aum namo bhagavate vasudevaya Moon moves to Aquarius at 21:14 CDT and receives gaze (drishti) from Rahu, and Jupiter here. Wednesday, 5.21 Moon transits Aquarius, receiving gaze (drishti) from Rahu, and Jupiter here and moves into Satabhisha nakshatra at 08:31 am CDT. Varuna and Rahu rule the day through this nakshatra. Varuna is connected to unseen (invisible) obstacles- which is also another attribute of the sign Aquarius and its ruler, Rahu, the shadow planet. Watch for excess judgement and criticism today, as well as looking for inner wrongs and the wrongs of others. Take care of your health and work towards removal of inner/outer obstacles. It is Wednesday (day of Mercury) and Moon is transiting its 8th phase (tithi) called Ashtami also ruled by Rahu. This is the half way point in the waning cycle. A feeling of being in limbo might be felt today, a sense of urgency to change, but resistance to act or move might be heightened. Look for fears and anxiety to be present with this push/pull dynamic. The mind is delicate through the weekend as Mercury changes signs; while in transition, it passes through its sandhi (gap) phase and asks us to move our senses inward. Avoid making decisions until Mercury strengthens (Saturday) and temper feelings of overwhelm and mental tension with fresh air, embodiment and creative outlets. Write your worries and fears down on paper. Let them flow like water onto the page in order to empty your mind. It's ok to think big today, just don't succumb to overwhelm. Take bite sized action steps for best results. Thursday, 5.22 Venus moves towards the edge of Pisces and becomes sandhi in the wee hours. Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada at 7:19 am CDT. Ajaikapada (a form of Shiva, lord of the dance) and the planet Jupiter are enlivened today- especially because it is Thursday, the day of Jupiter. Today may offer a sense of both expansion and contraction. We may feel the need to cut pieces loose that need to be let go of in order for greater growth and change. There might be an energy today of overwhelm, balancing the impossible, and/or having a foot in two opposing realms. The word of the day is tapas. Think in terms of purification and learning from the obstacles afoot. Mercury moves to its own sign (Gemini) at 15:32 CDT, joining Jupiter there. This is cause for celebration and insures that our mental and creative capacities will get an expansive boost in the coming weeks, though not without navigating some shadow work as Rahu gives his drishti (gaze) nine houses away from Libra. Some may even get a monetary leg up or some notoriety with this cycle. This is an unusually lengthy transit for Mercury who usually zooms through signs in only a few weeks, but this cycle will last for over two months! Part of this time he will retrograde and become sandhi at the edge of Gemini, but nonetheless, our mental faculties will be getting some support during this transit. As per my planetary transit report for the waning Moon cycle: A powerful transit of "increase" is upon us with this one. More knowledge, more wisdom, more understanding and more of all things Mercury. Expect money making ideas and desires to increase simultaneously. Don't let the mind run off with you. Reign it in. Being diligent this month with the mental body and meditation will be valuable and deepen your efforts and experiences with this transit. More on Mercury's transit into Gemini in my next planetary transit report next week. Use the "soft mind" of sandhi Mercury for inner reflection and introspection until he strengthens in degrees on Saturday. Friday, 5.23 Moon changes signs, moving to Pisces at 00:38 am CDT, joining a very sandhi Venus here and receives direct drishti (gaze) from Mars seven houses away. Shortly thereafter, Moon moves into Uttarabhadrapada at 06:27 am CDT where the naga (serpent) Ahirbudhnya and the planet Saturn predominate. A Rudra who removes calamities, Ahirbudhnya offers us great insights, depth and awareness if we choose to navigate the unseen and hidden realms within ourselves. As per my planetary transit report for the waning Moon cycle: Moving out of its exaltation sign of Pisces and into Aries, Venus makes the transition at 18:09 CDT. This is a particularly tricky junction as Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and is a water sign, whereas Aries is the beginning of the zodiac and a fire sign. The symbolism here: endings and new beginnings, as well as starting anew. Venus will be feeling the pressure this month as he shares Aries with Ketu and also receives direct gaze (drishti) from Saturn and Rahu seven houses away as well as Mars eight houses away. A nice exchange between Sun and Venus occurs though as Sun transits Taurus (ruled by Venus) and Venus transits Aries (ruled by Sun). Heat, pressure and transformations are inevitable, however. We may feel this in our relationships, with our creativity, passions, artistry, and with our flow of money. We may get an increase of support and a greater feeling of power and possibility with this transit. However, as Venus joins Ketu in Aries, expect a purification of these areas of life to occur as well as a restructuring with all things Venus. Saturday, 5.24 Moon moves to Revati nakshatra at 5:54 am CDT. Pushan and Mercury preside over this nakshatra. Mind strengthens as Mercury strengthens in degrees today which helps us harvest the nourishment that Pushan offers ton us. Prosperity, increase, and a sense of flourishing can arrive through Pushan. He protects us on our paths and helps our journey be comfortable and with ease. Today, look for ways you can expand your wealth and prosperity and notice where you are needing extra nourishment and support. What is working? What is not working? Now is the time to make adjustments so that more gains can be felt. FYI: some letting go will be required in this process. Sunday, 5.25 Sun moves to Rohini nakshatra at 02:55 am CDT. This can help our sense of creative potential. Look for insights and intuitive guidance pointing you in the right direction. Let your creativity be unleashed! Moon crosses the tricky junction point between Pisces (end of the zodiac and water sign) and moves into Aries (beginning of zodiac and fire sign) at 5:43 am CDT where it joins Venus and Ketu there; all will be in Ashwini nakshatra. These three planets receive direct drishti (gaze) from Rahu and Saturn seven houses away in Libra as well as from Mars eight houses away. Get activated! Cut loose the old attachments and barnacles holding you back. Burn away impurities and seek healing and rejuvenation- especially with relationships. You may feel this need for change and restructuring on the mental level or it may be required of you. Get creative. Harmonize more with your desires and great potential. Use your Sunday for taking extra care of your needs. Relax, restore, and use your favorite techniques for rejuvenation. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Never miss my Moon Mind Calendar.
