Moon begins to wane (Krishna Paksha) on April 15th after the full moon and the lunar eclipse. It will transit through Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and into Aries during this Moon phase which culminates with a Solar eclipse on the 29th.
Get my daily Moon Mind calendar for each week via my newsletter. Lunar and Solar Eclipses On Tuesday 4.15, Moon enters Libra just after midnight, joining Rahu and retrograde Saturn there as well. Moon reaches its peak fullness at 2:41 am CDT while in Chitra nakshatra. The lunar eclipse begins at 11:55 pm CDT as Moon crosses paths with Earth's shadow. The lunar eclipse reaches its maximum at 02:46am CDT and continues until 05:36 am CDT. With the direct gaze of Sun and Ketu in Aries, and Jupiter in Gemini, as well as an eclipse, this full Moon is one of intensity and a great collision of energies. It is a good time to evaluate where we are using sheer physical strength and stamina and where we are not effectively using beneficial mental strategy to help us achieve our long term goals and objectives. Become aware of how to do less, while maximizing your efforts. In other words, the mantra "less is more", is still pertinent to the day and to the weeks ahead. This is certainly a time of pruning and cutting out all that is unnecessary. Simultaneously, this Full Moon is the celebration of Hanuman Jayanti, the birthday of Hanuman. As a Rudra (a god of intense strength and power), Hanuman is inherently strong and powerful, with great stamina- exemplified by his successful "leap to Lanka" where he found goddess Sita and returned her safely home to Ayodhya. He overcame many obstacles and opponents (the rakshasa/demon Ravana and his army) out of love, devotion and service to Lord Raam and goddess Sita. May he serve as a reminder to us of what odds can be overcome, what power we each posses, and what love and devotion can accomplish- and don't forget he called on a powerful group of monkeys for support and assistance! This "triple power" Full Moon serves as a forceful reminder to each of us. We must work smarter not harder or the physical body will most certainly feel the effects. Wherever we are feeling the pinches and pruning from the planets, we are getting a reminder to pause, listen, and do things more effectively, more in harmony with the Laws of Nature. The emotional and mental pressures are being felt from all sides by many right now. It's time to get radical and very structured about doing life differently and in the coming weeks the messages will begin to clarify or intensify depending on the "size of the job". Where can you ask for help? Where can you find more support? Where do you need to start vocalizing your needs? What are you clinging to and afraid of losing? What rubble of the past needs to be cleared in order for you to walk your Path more harmoniously? The planets are calling for us to make some very big personal changes, but be forewarned, and it might feel more like an ultimatum. The lunar eclipse marks a delicate two week period until the solar eclipse on the 29th. In the Vedic tradition, this is not a time to take risks, start new endeavors, or to over-exert. It is a time, however, of turning inward, of meditation and contemplation, and a time to take extra care of the physical body with good routine etc. The closing of this "eclipse portal" comes with the new Moon and solar eclipse on the 29th. The solar eclipse will begin on the 28th at 10:53 PM CDT and conclude at 3:15 AM CDT on April 29th. In the midst of the solar eclipse there will of course be a new Moon which is at 1:13 am CDT on April 29th while Moon is in Aries and Bharani nakshatra. The intensity felt weeks prior as Moon transited Libra, is now felt from the opposite lens, the Aries lens, where Moon joins exalted Sun, Mercury and Ketu there as well- all in Bharani nakshatra. This is when the final "pruning" or purification will take place, when we finally get the awareness we've been waiting for and life offers us more clarity to act with greater harmony moving forward. Don't push or force the ripening phase during the eclipses, it will be a waste of effort. Trust that the answers will arrive on time, with a sense of purpose and transformation. The amount of pain felt during this ripening and transformation period will be a direct result of how much resistance you are using to thwart change. Surrender is the safest bet and requires much less energy. When there is some suffering felt, this is a perfect opportunity for self tracking, looking at the pieces that need to shift within the Self and within life, and to take a new direction. See the pain as an opportunity. Take this into your creative ritual and art processes. In light of the myriad of ways we feel the effects of the planets and their shifts, I've created a new virtual workshop series. Read more about my four part series, the Cosmic and Creative Self workshops. Planetary Movements and Changes On Sunday, 4.20 Mercury moves to Aries at 6:56 am CDT, joining exalted Sun and Ketu there as well. This transit continues the theme of cleansing, purifying and change but Mercury offers this to our mental body, communication and our connectivity. Where is the resistance to movement, change, growth and new possibilities? Focus your efforts and attention on abundance, life giving support and your own vitality. Right now it is all about self care and defragging the system. Venus moves to Pisces, its sign of exaltation on 4.27 and out of the gaze (drishti) of Rahu, but picks up direct drishti from retrograde Mars transiting Virgo. This transit intensifies our demand for increase, abundance and more flow of the life giving qualities that Venus offers like money, sweetness, creativity, love and passion. Mars isn't exactly the diplomat though, so watch where there is a forceful or demanding agenda and attitude this month in regard to relationships, life balance, harmony with Self and others, and with needs and priorities. The outcome and trends move towards the positive after the solar eclipse on the 29th. The noteworthy change of Jupiter from Ardra nakshatra back into Punarvasu nakshatra on 4.24 helps this trend immensely. The sweetness of Jupiter and the awareness offered by Aditi, who rules Punarvasu, will offer a softer and gentler approach to change, growth and knowledge than the Ardra/Rudra approach of the past months where excessive Rahu has overwhelmed the planets, nakshatras and our cravings. More on the Jupiter transit here. Look out for an impressive day on the 30th when Moon, Sun, Venus and Saturn will all be exalted simultaneously. I'll be sure to post about this in my weekly Moon Mind Calendar. Don't miss these updates, be sure to sign up for my weekly newsletter. It is a big year with multiple {major} planetary changes. We will experience the changes of Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu, Saturn and unusual movements of Mars all in the next eleven months. Big changes are in store for each of us! Feeling uncertain about your action steps? What needs to change in order for growth? What kind of support you need? Schedule a yearly progression with me in order to make your New Year a truly transformational year. I still have some sessions available for May. *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Horoscopes for the Waning Moon Cycle of April 15th to 29th. Aries: This is a time of great power, personal growth and lessons. Transformations with career and relationships play a big role in your waning Moon cycle as well as what you will harvest during the eclipses. Stop doing things the way you have been doing them. Start looking for new solutions, answers and less harmful ways of living your life. True power comes from knowing when to back off, delegate, share, shut up and by working smarter not harder. Ask your Self if there is an easier way to do things and why you have a need for so much struggle. The only resistance is within you. Taurus: Your work during this waning cycle and the two week eclipse period pushes you from inner to inner. This is a time of digestion and assimilation. Sitting with your awareness, gut responses and the body's inner intelligence, so you can dive deeper. Gather information from others, from relationships, teachers, guides and clients, friends and lovers. Then take these valuable insights into your meditation. Finish up the cycle with introspection, away time at an ashram or retreat, or by simply finding silent alone time in your own sacred space. Use the coming weeks as a way to get more deeply in touch with your needs, your intuition and your healing abilities. Let others support you. Gemini: Where are you getting distracted? Overwhelmed? Underwhelmed? Who and what is taking up your time and energy and why are you allowing this drain? There are always going to be distractions, it's your job to not give in. In order to gain momentum, you need consistent action steps and a clear agenda. Expect a bit more of both once Mercury moves to Aries on the 20th and Venus moves to your 10th house of career on the 27th. However, the next distraction will be too much creativity, excitement, ideas, and desires. The next step, therefor, will be pruning and getting laser focused on your trajectory for success. Cancer: This waning Moon cycle moves you from inner to outer and will help you evaluate your emotional landscape more directly. Turn over the rocks in your heart. Dump the sand out of your shoes. You are quite focused on career agendas right now, which means you will likely forget your personal work unless you are forced into it. So when the heart and relationship woes begin yet again, you may be called into action. There are still pieces you need to address with your own liberation, with communication of needs, of your unyielding emotional storms. Turn over the rocks in your heart and use them as an offering. Leo: Let your creativity, courage and power inform your offerings, gifts and services in the coming weeks. As an introspective time (doubly so with the eclipses) use this as a way to go more deeply into Nature's message to you. Use this as a time to hone your talents, desires and shining light. Your creativity, relationships and passions get a transformational overhaul from inside out as Venus moves to Pisces and your 8th house. Trust that this is a crucial part of your refining process, a way to be bigger, bolder and more inspiring in the long run. Think big, but don't push too hard. Acquire the knowledge first, the action is coming next. Virgo: Communication is a powerful resource for you. How do you express your Self? Share your needs and wants, desires and dreams? Who listens and supports you? Who does not? In this vital time of transformation, you are getting some clarity on what you really need for sustainable nourishment and support from environment and relationships. Look for a "felt sense" within the body. If you listen carefully, your body will be giving the clues for this new level of awareness. Meanwhile, you are getting a complete overhaul right now from the inside out. This will be what you need for your next phase of offerings, career choices and more powerful relationships. Relationships and passion amp up after the 27th so get clear on what you really want and need now. Libra: Life does not need to be so hard. Repeat this and remind your Self that life can be a different way, a smoother way. This is a choice actually- one that we all have. The only piece of the puzzle that needs to quit resisting is you. Explore your inner and outer realms, the hard to the soft. Notice what arrives as you look in the mirror- the mirror of relationships especially. The coming waning cycle and eclipses offer growth from outer to inner- with a particular emphasis on healing some old, outworn relationship woundology. Start embodying the lessons and taking them to heart. Be creative with your growth. Scorpio: Listen to your gut for wisdom and information. It's working on digesting some old pieces right now that will help you with career and your offerings to others. Heart and belly are intimately connected. What needs to be soothed, comforted, nurtured and nourished in order for you to feel more satisfied? There are clues with stability, support, grounding. Your feet can offer more insights and your voice can open the channel for further awareness. Your work is connected to embodiment at this time; enliven your tools and strengthen your inner power. Don't neglect the body, or its wisdom. Sagittarius: As you continue to question and re-evaluate your career, now is also a good time to get more focused on why you do what you do. Are you fulfilled by your work and if not, where are you holding back on taking action towards your dreams and desires? Are you connecting with the right people, asking for support from friends and colleagues? Are you getting creative and resourceful with your goals and agenda? Use this time to acquire knowledge, insight and a stronger creative edge. You are poised for expansion (aren't you always) yet the missing piece always seems to be your timely response and actions. Action steps add up, slowly and over time. Take a few small actions in the right direction over the next few weeks that will add up to success in the long term. Capricorn: The storms and flurry that Rudra is offering us right now reside in your career house, but are effecting your emotional well being, sense of rooting and connection, and your craving for liberation. Expect answers and lessons, tests and questions, during this sensitive eclipse time. A surge of creative impulse is coming for you as Venus enters Pisces on the 27th. Use this to inform your career offerings and transformations. If it aligns with the heart and intuition, you know you can trust it. Find new ways of teaching, sharing your gifts and offering your skills that take into account a "less is more" approach and attitude. It's too easy for you to push excessively, so if it feels like you aren't doing enough, you are probably doing plenty. Aquarius: Courage, creativity and action steps are important pieces for you to work with during this waning Moon phase and the period between the eclipses. Working on your communication, self expression, while expanding your experience of comfort and support, is vital. Look to what is not working, what is not feeling nourishing to you, for clues and suggestions. Ask for wisdom and advice from trust worthy sources and dance with your anger and fire for further insights. Your power and courage are wrapped up in your anger. This is where you can look for needs that aren't being met and the parts of your Self that are not being expressed. Unleash your fire breathing dragon (in healthy and constructive ways). Pisces: Themes continue around relationships, self expression and transformation. Where do these pieces intersect for you? The need to express your Self on all levels, and in all of your relationships, is strengthening. You may be coming on too strong over the next few weeks, but this will eventually even itself out, so don't quit even if you receive some negative feedback. Keep looking under the rocks and churning up the mud from your depths. Your creativity and passions are returning and may sweep you away in their intense flow as Venus moves to your first house on the 27th. Don't drown. Too much of a good thing can be overwhelming and harmful if you let it; you've come too far. Don't miss a transit report or my bimonthly horoscopes. Sign up for my newsletter.

With multiple planets colliding energetically as well as lunar and solar eclipses happening during this waning Moon cycle, we are each feeling the intensity in our own way on an internal level. As is the macrocosm, so is the microcosm and vice versa. Each informs the other. Inner to outer and outer to inner. It is here at this intersection that we are given an opportunity. Using the physical body as an entry point into the exploration of our surroundings and then seeing what arrives on an internal level can be very informative. In the Tamalpa Life Art Process (TLAP) as well as in Paolo Knill's unique Expressive Art Therapy teachings, we see landscape work as a very intentional resource for self development. For me, landscape work has been very foundational this past year and has helped me experience my needs for stability and support more effectively.
Start where you are. Yes, right here and right now. You may wish to begin with a three level check-in to start your navigation process. Scan the mental body and note the experience, images, shapes, words that come to mind. Do the same with emotional body and physical body. This is step number one in self tracking. The next step is to start moving. Use your immediate environment to inform your physical movement. Are you sitting, standing or walking? How are you moving and why? How does the immediate environment (chair, floor, wall, window ledge, desk, sidewalk, trees etc) inform your physical movements? What body parts are you utilizing, not utilizing? What body parts seem to be your default? Work with themes of resistance, push and pull, repetition and pause/hold. Make sure the breath is always moving you and moving through you. Let the breath initiate the movement in other words. Your homework for the next two weeks is using the "landscape exploration" practice regularly. Take it outside on a walk in the woods or through a park. Take it into your office space and work with the local environment and any furniture or walls present. This doesn't have to be a long and lengthy practice, even 5 to 10 minutes can be highly informative. Keep working with themes that arrive and patterns that emerge and build off of them each time you start your "landscape exploration". Harvest your experiences and three level check ins and look for patterns and themes that emerge. Remember: work with what is present. Harvesting Questions: What body part am I working with right now? What is it telling me about the landscape and my environment? How is my body/parts connecting to the available surface? How is my body/parts working with the space in the environment? How can the immediate environment inform my movements? How do my mental/emotional bodies show up in my movements with the environment? How does the environment appear to interact with my mental/emotional bodies? In what ways does the external environment inform my internal landscape? Vice versa? What themes arrive? What body parts continue to be relied upon as I move through the landscape? What resources and insights do the environment and surfaces offer me? What feelings surface? What sensations arrive? More details below as well as in my current planetary report + horoscopes for the waning Moon cycle. Monday, 4.14 Sun is now exalted in Aries, joining Ketu there as well. Sun is in weak degrees until Wednesday so try to get away with using less energy; don't push too hard. Moon finishes up its transit through Virgo today, crossing over Mars directly around noon (the hottest part of the day) and is in close degrees with him throughout the day. This can heat the emotions, create aggression and stir the Pitta. Watch your temper and emotions and if anger arrives, notice what boundaries you allowed to be crossed. Did you say yes, when you should have said no? Moon is in Hasta nakshatra the first part of the day which is ruled by Savitr. He grants us awakening, the dawning of awareness as well as increased creativity and healing potential through the hands. Be present to some stirring, some dawning within you today. What new understanding or insights arrive this morning? The Moon/Mars conjunction can also bring a deepened connection with the Divine Mother- notice where she gives her blessings. Use Gayatri Mantra to start your day. As Moon moves to Chitra at 12:10 CDT, the connection with Vishvakarma strengthens. He is the celestial architect, who helps our building and planning become actualized. He is especially connected to artisans and those wishing to expand their potential. This also marks Hanuman Jayanti, the celebration of Hanuman's birth. The festivities begin when the waxing Moon is at its fullest (15th tithi) and enters Chitra nakshatra during this particular season of the Vedic calendar. Hanuman is considered a Rudra (a god of intense strength and power) and overcame many obstacles and opponents (the rakshasa/demon Ravana and his army) out of love, devotion and service to Lord Raam and goddess Sita. May he serve as a reminder to us of what odds can be overcome, what power we each posses, and what love and devotion can accomplish. The lunar eclipse begins at 11:55 pm CDT as Moon reaches its fullness and crosses paths with the Sun. Tuesday, 4.15 Moon enters Libra just after midnight joining Rahu and retrograde Saturn there as well. It reaches its peak fullness at 2:41 am CDT while in Chitra nakshatra. The lunar eclipse reaches its maximum at 02:46am CDT and continues until 05:36 am CDT. With the direct gaze from Sun and Ketu in Aries, and Jupiter in Gemini, as well as an eclipse, this full Moon is one of intensity and a great collision of energies. More on the meaning of this full Moon for the coming waning cycle in my planetary report. Moon crosses directly over Rahu late morning. Moon moves to Swati nakshatra at 12:37 pm CDT (ending the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations) which is ruled by the planet Rahu and Vayu, the wind god. The mind and body will likely be clouded today so allow extra time for going about your day. Be careful while driving and traveling today especially. Wednesday, 4.16 Moon moves to Vishaka nakshatra at 12:35 pm CDT ruled by the dual natured god, Indragni and the planet Jupiter. Seek alliance and support today. Notice where you can make changes in your life to create greater assistance for your Self and get things done more efficiently. Are you forgetting to ask for what you need? Are you pushing too hard? Where are you resisting change? As Moon nears Saturn, it is extremely important and valuable to listen to our bodies for subtle insights. What messages is the body giving you? Thursday, 4.17 Moon finishes up its transit through Libra after crossing directly over retrograde Saturn in the wee hours of the morning, then moves to Scorpio at 6:17 am CDT. Moon is considered debilitated in Scorpio which makes the Moon extra sensitive. This sensitivity can be helpful for intuition and a refined awareness, however, it must be handled with care. As Moon moves into Anuradha nakshatra at 12:08 pm CDT, this sensitivity heightens, especially for the physical body and the mind/body connection. Stamina may be lower, so find ways to self care and treat the physical and mental bodies with TLC. The tendency, however, may be to do the opposite. Avoid getting lost in the details, try to zoom out and get a bigger picture if necessary. Reach out to friends and alliances for support and comfort. Work with the theme "giving and receiving." Friday, 4.18 Moon moves to Jyeshta nakshatra just before noon at 11:21 am CDT just as Sun nears exact conjunction with Ketu. The mind and body may be extra sensitive today so take this into consideration if irritations arise. With Indra and Mercury ruling this nakshatra, and the current planetary transits, it is an excellent time for self tracking. Likely the irritations in the mind will be a result of some physical need not being met. Can you trace the issue back to the need? Can you find a healthy way to get your need met? It may require self care strategies, alone time, and restructuring previous plans. You may also need to shift your relationships around. Do what it takes to preserve your mental comfort and physical support. Venus moves into Purvabhadra nakshatra today. We may notice an increase in relationship and financial support as a result over the next 12 days, while using a one pointed focus and agenda. This can also be a time of purification and change as well; allow the change, don't resist it. Saturday, 4.19 Moon moves to Sagittarius and into Mula nakshatra at 10:17 am CDT and receives direct drishti/gaze from Jupiter seven houses away in Gemini, retrograde Saturn in Libra, as well as retrograde Mars in Virgo. Mula is also a challenging nakshatra that often is responsible for a sense of chaos and dishevelment. Don't plan to be anywhere on time today- or expect to arrive in an orderly fashion. Best use of time and energy is with restorative measures for the mental, emotional and physical bodies. The rulers of Mula are Ketu and Nirrti (the dark goddess married to adharma- against dharma). She brings uprooting, change and removals, but the end results can be greater overall health and wellness. With Ketu and Sun in close degrees today and in Ashwini nakshatra respectively, this is a great day to pay special attention to the physical body, to use healing remedies and to put attention on self care regimens. Additionally, Mercury is weak in degrees in its sign of debilitation which requires careful navigation of the mental body, communication and decision making. Use your inner wisdom and go for silence today. Sunday, 4.20 Mercury moves to Aries at 6:56 am CDT, joining exalted Sun and Ketu there as well. Moon moves to PurvAshada nakshatra at 9:01 CDT. Apas the water goddess rules the day. Allow flow to happen. Where are you stopping fluidity in your life? Where is the resistance to movement, change, growth and new possibilities? Focus your efforts and attention on abundance, life giving support and your own vitality today. Right now it is all about self care. 4.7
The 8th day of Navaratri, dedicated to goddess Saraswati. Moon is on the wax (Shukla Paksha) and the week begins with Moon in the 8th tithi at the end of Gemini and Punarvasu nakshatra. At 16:41 CDT Moon enters the auspicious ninth tithi (navami) while sandhi in Gemini, but moves to Moon's own sign of Cancer at 16:47 CDT (still in Punarvasu). In Cancer, Moon receives drishti from Saturn which offers a restrictive energy as well as one pointed focus. Punarvasu, however, gives expansion, clarity and a sense of wholeness from the deity Aditi "mother of all goodness". Look for both in the second half of your day- a fixed mode of expansion with a clear trajectory. Moon moves to Pushya nakshatra at 23:31 CDT. 4.8 Pushya nakshatra is ruled by Saturn and Brihaspati (another name for Jupiter) and offers nourishment, support, usually by providing us with knowledge and awareness. Today is the final day of Navaratri which culminates with the celebration of Lord Raam's birthday, Raam Navami. This is a potent and powerful day of activation. As the previous eight days of Navaratri provided a complete inner overhaul. First with the tilling of our internal soil through clearing and purging (Durga), then came nourishment and support for our seeds (desires) through Lakshmi's abundance, and then finally wisdom and clarity and a wealth of creativity has been offered through Saraswati so that our desires may blossom into a rich harvest in the days and months to come. Raam then provides the power and dynamism to take these silent gifts of the Divine Mother into action so that they may truly actualize. Historically, this is the day Lord Raam was born in Ayodhya and so we give honor and praise to his life and name as well. He was the seventh incarnation of Vishnu. Jai Ram!! 4.9 Moon moves to Ashlesha nakshatra in the wee hours of the morning. This is sarpa's nakshatra, ruled by Mercury. Sarpas are snakes, connected to Rahu (as opposed to the other type of snake, Nagas, which are connected to Ketu). Sarpas are sly and cunning, but offer insights and bring wisdom through their occult studies. Be mindful off illusion, deception and overconfidence today- which are attributes of both Sarpa and Rahu's nature. Currently Mercury is transiting Pisces (conjunct Sun) and transiting Uttarabhadrapada nakshatra which is ruled by Ahirbudhnya, a naga. The mental/emotional body is getting a chance for clarity today with a higher purpose. Get clear on what you need to do and trust your intuitive powers. 4.10 Moon moves to Leo and Magha nakshatra at 05:15 CDT. Magha is ruled by Ketu and Pitr, which relates to the ancestors, particularly the father's lineage. Karamas with power and authority arrive with this nakshatra. Moon receives drishti from Venus here, currently in Satabisha nakshatra. Do good work and uphold dharma, but avoid being overly critical to your Self and others. Works steadily today, but don't push too hard. Where are you overly connected to power and authority? 4.11 At 07:42 CDT Moon moves to Purvaphalguni nakshatra which is ruled by Bhaga and the planet Venus. It's Friday, day of Venus, so expect some fruiting and flowering- assisted by Bhaga of course, who rules relationships, harmony and sexuality. Jupiter's drishti to Venus helps the heart feel more expansive and relationships to feel a bit more harmonious. Though, Rahu's drishti to Venus as well can give too much of a good thing, or misjudgement. Listen closely. Does it feel good to your heart? Emotions? Do you feel supported and nourished? Are your needs being met? Look for warning signs and back up if necessary. Don't rush in too quickly. Sun becomes sandhi late in the evening. 4.12 Moon moves to the latter half of Phalguni, Uttaraphalguni nakshatra at 09:43 CDT which is in the final portion of Leo. Ruled by Sun and Aryaman, there is still a connection to relationships, however, he's more connected to lasting relationships than Bhaga is. Aryaman wants love, commitment and family life to be harmonious. With Sun sandhi in Pisces, in Revati nakshatra (ruled by Mercury), the "Self" needs may be weak today. Do what's best for group harmony today. Shine through communication, verbal affirmations and keep group dynamics in mind. Speak sweetly. Moon moves to Virgo at 16:09 CDT joining retrograde Mars there as well. Retrograde Mars moves back into Hasta nakshatra at 18:25 CDT. 4.13 Debilitated Mercury moves into Revati nakshatra at 10:33 CDT, ruled by Pushan who gives nourishment and safe journeys. Shortly thereafter, Moon moves to Hasta nakshatra joining Mars there at 11:13 CDT. The Moon and Mars conjunction brings heat to the emotions and there is a heightened tension with the mental body simultaneously as they are in a Mercury ruled sign (Virgo) receiving direct drishti from a sandhi Sun and debilitated Mercury. If tempers flair, it's probably due to pushing for too much, forcing an agenda that needs to be re-evaluated and having expectations that are too high. Today is calling for downsizing in a big way. As we near the Lunar Eclipse on the 15th (and Hanuman Jayanti), we need to have emotional/mental balance at the front of our needs list. Where can you do less and lower your expectations of your Self and others? Sun moves to Aries (its home of exaltation) for the next month at 20:42 CDT. This is a powerful placement and causes us to use our brute strength and the physical body to accomplish goals and agendas. But does the body comply? Do the mental and emotional bodies say yes as well? With the lunar eclipse and Full Moon arriving next week, we near the delicate two week period between eclipses (Annual solar eclipse on the 29th). This is a time to really be cognizant of working smarter, not harder. Though plenty of temptations will arise. More on all of this in next week's Planetary Transit + Horoscope Report. First day of Vasant Navaratri, and first day dedicated to Ma Durga. Moon is waxing and transits from Pisces into Aries, joining Ketu there as it enters Ashwini nakshatra. Heal, rejuvenate, purge. 4.01 Day two of Navaratri and second day of celebrations dedicated to Durga. Moon moves past Ketu and into to Bharani nakshatra. Ruled by Venus and Yama, lord of death and restraint, this is a particularly delicate and challenging lunar constellation. The experience for the Moon is one of pressure and exhaustion. Though you may be pulled in multiple directions today, the needs of the Moon are to soften, to turn in, and to flow with life more harmoniously. Turn rigidity into smoothness if possible. 4.02 Moon moves to Krittika on the 3rd day of Navaratri and the 3rd and final day dedicated to Durga. Moon becomes exalted as it moves into Taurus at 19:42 CDT. The day brings cutting, letting go and finalizing details connected to necessary purification. There are some tensions today for expansion. We want bigger, faster, more right now, which is creating heat and agitation. Slow down and put it into first gear. Only do what's necessary and find time for creativity and soothing the emotions. 4.03 First day of Lakshmi and Moon moves to Rohini at 14:24 CDT. Expect quick changes, fast maneuvers and creative impulses later in the day. Brahma and Moon rule this nakshatra and offer creativity and the spark of creation, beauty and passion. Passions are high and intense, cravings intensify and desire is strong. Put this creative momentum into action. Find a way to channel it properly, in order to maximize it. Mercury moves to Pisces on the 3rd at 20:48 CDT, which is its sign of debilitation. He joins Sun here and gets direct drishti from retrograde Mars. This transit, though relatively short in duration (a little over two weeks) may bring a feeling of being pulled in too many directions. Read more about this transit. 4.04 Second day of Lakshmi in the Navaratri festivities. Moon moves to Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 15:56 CDT and creativity gets more of a laser focus (or moves to overwhelm depending on your ability to take effective action). The mind heats up. Does it evaporate as Mercury joins the Sun in Pisces? Or do you get super clear on what best practice is for your mental focus? Regardless, look for softness- intuition can be accessed in unique ways right now. Mental sensitivity can be a gift at this time. Slow down to get the messages. 4.05 Moon moves to Gemini at 4:56 CDT on the third day of Lakshmi's celebrations. Moon joins Jupiter here and receives drishti from Rahu, then moves into Ardra nakshatra at 18:04 CDT, Rudras nakshatra. Look for movement, change and sudden shifts later in the day. Harsh emotions may be felt or experienced. Watch for sudden explosions, stormy weather, and possible sadness or grief emerging from your depths. Dance in the rain. 4.06 This is the first day dedicated to goddess Saraswati in the Navaratri celebration. Moon moves to Punarvasu nakshatra late evening at 20:39 CDT. The storms of Ardra rule the majority of the day, but as Aditi takes over in the late evening, understanding and more harmony sets in. Moon has crossed Jupiter by this point. The exchange between Mercury and Jupiter (Mercury rules Gemini and Jupiter rules Pisces where Mercury is transiting) gives a mental perspective that helps expand, teach and provide support which can be used to your advantage. Look for the light. |
