Moon Mindfulness ::: Mind Your Moon
Moon is waxing (bright half) and transits Virgo in Uttaraphalguni nakshatra until 19:17 CDT when it will move to Hasta. Aryaman in the deity that presides over Uttaraphalguni. He is one of the 12 Adityas (children of Aditi, the mother and foundation of the Universe). He gives sustenance, health and strength to the body, but also relates to companionship and lasting marital harmony as well as fertility and the ancestors.
It is said that Aryaman is the chief of the ancestors and that the milky way is his path to them. We are each children of the stars, coming from the cosmos, to fulfill our duties here on Earth. In the Vedic understanding, marriage and children our the biggest gifts to the ancestors- they carry forward the lineage, move through familial karmas and can maintain dharma for the line. The children are the gifts, and it is through lasting marriage that these gifts are maintained and harmonized, thus Aryaman rules over the aspects of marriage that make partnerships last. Conjugal happiness and bliss are only a part of this nakshatra though, the rest has to do with future, what will come to pass, the long term sustainability of relationships, unions, partnerships etc. The fruits of, the result of, the qualities of our actions that are required for lasting positive effect.
There is much fertility in this star- meaning, it is a time to plant seeds and water them, tend them, nurture them accordingly, in order for maximum results- literally and figuratively. Today's mantra is "work it!" Put in the effort necessary for lasting results and tend to your seeds accordingly.
