Moon is waxing this week and transits through Cancer, Leo, Virgo and into Libra. The intensity of the changing planets builds. Rahu and Ketu are sandhi as they prepare to move signs on the 12th. Mercury is sandhi and retrograde (until the 1st) and at the edge of Gemini most of the week. Saturn is retrograde in his sign of exaltation (Libra), and is thus debilitated. The cushion comes from exalted Jupiter and Venus in its own sign of Taurus. Regardless, use precaution this week. Next week will come with its own set of warnings as Rahu and Mars conjunct. For now, be mindful of the emotional impact the nodes can have on us, as well as the delicate states of Mercury (mental body) and Saturn (physical body). Mind your mental body and your physical body this week and attend to anger, rigidity and over thinking.
Monday, June 30th Moon transits its own sign of Cancer with exalted Jupiter. Both receive gaze from a compromised Saturn. Moon moves into Ashlesha nakshatra at 1:18 am CDT. Sarpa and Mercury rule this nakshatra and activate themes of deception, illusion and overconfidence as serpent energy is apt to do. Sarpa is a small snake and connected to the north node, Rahu as a result of his serpent energy indicates. There is also a connection to wisdom (of the occult variety) and mysticism through Sarpa which can bring awakenings. Snakes medicine is all about transformation and regeneration. Today can offer a spectrum of possibilities from inner transformation and awakening to worldly advancement and changes. There may be illusions or delusions working their charms on us, so be mindful of what you are feeding your serpent self; your cravings and desires. Mental body will be trying to run the show today and spinning his usual stories of mayhem on auto pilot. Use this to inform your process, but don't let it run the show and drag you through the mud. Do a three level check in to see where you are in mind, body and emotions. Then take it into a poem or song. Let your words work some magic on you. Tuesday, July 1st Moon moves to Leo and into Magha nakshatra at 4:18 am CDT. Pitr and Ketu enliven at this time and bring about a day of change and transformation. Mercury goes direct at 7:46 am CDT. We may wake up feeling ready to take forward action- at least mentally. Clean up phase is complete for this round of Mercury retrograde and the mind starts thinking in a more linear way now. This may bring greater clarity to our life process and allow us to think more clearly about progress rather than all the steps we are retracing. Sometimes this can help us see where we need to get clearer and more focused with our personal agendas. However, Mercury is at the very edge of its own sign, Gemini, right now. We get the taste of mind in a harmonious sign, yet "weak" and in the gap simultaneously. This may make the clarity we get be very subtle and intuitive instead so listen up for the gentle messages that come. If you miss them, don't worry, they will get much louder in the coming weeks. But try to catch the memos before they start shouting. Read more about sandhi planets here. Today has a quick, fast and fierce kind of feel to it. Overwhelm or calamity may set in as a result. Make sure you are taking time to breathe and attend to your physical needs as our overdrive mechanisms might be kicking up. Anger and outbursts, eruptions and tantrums, are likely inside and out so listen carefully to the underlying messages. What is the need that is not being attended to? What are the changes in you that must be made to create less friction? Action abounds right now with the planets. Let this influence you and your awareness about change and transformation. Need some guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Wednesday, July 2nd Moon moves to PurvaPhalguni at 7:20 am CDT. Bhaga and Venus rule the day. Bhaga brings us resources as he's an Aditya, and can offer a sense of wealth and happiness. Changes continue today, but we start to see and feel the silver lining. Let expansion be your guide and fill the spaces in your life with possibility and purpose. Grow to your edges and let nourishment support you. Let fluidity be a reminder and soften into your edges (especially from the mental body). Dream, day dream, and think big. Use watercolors to paint your dreams into reality. Appease the mental body by making a list of your action steps in the coming weeks and how they get you to the next big goal. You don't have to have it all figured out to take some steps forward. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Never miss my Moon Mind Calendar. Sign up for my newsletter. Thursday, July 3rd Moon moves to UttaraPhalguni at 10:12 am CDT. Sun and Aryaman help us find sustenance and endurance today. Think in terms of the big picture and the long haul in order to maximize your visions for expansion. Think big, but make sure you are thinking sustainably. What are the pieces that need to be put into place in order for your visions to take root? Get practical and be wise about your success. If you want to re-create your life, today's the day to plant some seeds of desire. Water them with clear actions and doable time frames. Ask for support and help from trustworthy resources and set up a cheer leading squad for encouragement along the way. The details might get more clear after 16:52 CDT, once Moon moves into Virgo and joins Mars there. “If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.” - Frances Hodgson Burnett Friday, July 4th Exalted Jupiter moves into Pushya nakshatra at 8:11 am CDT. Let the nourishment begin! We may feel this as a turning point in our exalted Jupiter experience. Read the details in my exalted Jupiter article, part 2. Moon transits Virgo with Mars and moves into Hasta nakshatra at 12:42 CDT. Heat, action, fire and agendas enliven. Feeling it yet? The warrior energy of Mars is not a thinker, he's a doer. Are you being led astray today by auto pilot or are you just working efficiently and effectively? Take ample breaks. Hit the pause button and breath, stretch and get some fresh air. Savitr will allow us to experience some awakening today, but we must create room for it to arrive. In your quiet moments, repeat Gayatri mantra for assistance. Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ tát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃ bhárgo devásya dhīmahi dhíyo yó naḥ pracodáyāt Saturday, July 5th Moon stays in Hasta the majority of the day, but nears Mars in the process. Yesterday's reminders still hold true, however the silence of Saturday (Saturn) may help us get to the core of the matter for effectively and efficiently. Hit pause intentionally today and cultivate some inner awareness with your emotions and actions. Let your foot off the gas and put it in neutral. Not feeling the ease? Consciously remove pieces off your plate and lighten your load. Heat, both inner and outer, is maximized as Moon and Mars conjoin, so take this into consideration as emotions intensify. Find moments to do a three level check in and use them for your creative process. If you need extra support with your action steps, use my Mars Legs/Feet MP3 for insights and harvesting. Moon moves into Chitra nakshatra at 14:39 CDT as it nears Mars. Chitra is ruled by Vishvakarma and Mars, so activation, action, and passion are enlivened on several levels as a result. Vishvakarma is the divine architect, "author of a thousand arts", and is associated with work and production. He is an Aditya and thus connected to resources and assistance. Vishvakarma is an incarnation of Lord Brahma, so his innate creativity is clearly connected to his offerings. This might be a good day to get busy and stay out of the frying pot! Finish up loose ends, projects that have been incomplete for weeks or months and find closure through production and creation processes. Nothing feels more gratifying than completing a task! If you are feeling particularly angry or agitated, take this into your work. See if you can't "work through it" on some level. Moon and Mars in exact conjunction at 20:29 CDT. Sun moves to Punarvasu nakshatra at 23:13 CDT. Aditi (mother of Oneness and all good) may offer a smoothing of any ruffled feathers during the previous days. As Sun moves into this nakshatra, the coming days will offer a sweeter harvesting of our emotional upheavals- giving purpose, power and poignancy to the process. Stay with it. Need some guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Sunday, July 6th Moon moves to Libra at 3:21 am CDT offering yet another layer of peace and nurturing. Libra is the peace maker in many senses- offering us balance and the ability to "weigh and measure" our options. At it's best, Libra offers us balance and greater awareness in the process. At its worst, it offers confusion, indecisiveness or excessive fakery and pretending. Moon crosses sandhi Rahu here while most of us will still be sleeping (around 4am CDT) which may prevent our "eclipsed" natures to derail us. (Those on the other side of the world, take note.) However, Rahu and Saturn are still in Libra for another eight days, which means stormy weather, movement and changes of the Rudra variety are still applicable. Let the winds blow around you, while being present to your inner compass. Moon moves to Swati nakshatra at 15:53 CDT and the winds intensify. Vayu and Rahu pick up the pace and increase themes of momentum, change, movement and Vata imbalances. Make sure you attend to your "inner winds", or prana today. Get outside and move the body in order to get out of the mental body turmoil, spin and overwhelm. Get embodied. The tendency is to be disconnected from emotions during Swati nakshatra. Are you cutting and pasting over them? Emotional bypassing? Be sure to create room for the emotions and invite them in to your awareness today. Stay connected with a three level check in. Then use it for your movement practice by taking this into dance and somatic navigation. My Mars Legs/Feet MP3 is a great resource for this. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Never miss my Moon Mind Calendar. Sign up for my newsletter. And if you like this post, please share it!

Moon is waning until Thursday. New Moon is on Friday in the early morning hours- in Gemini and Ardra nakshatra.
Monday, June 23rd Moon transits Aries and moves from Bharani to Krittika nakshatra at 12:30 CDT, enlivening the Sun and Agni- the fire of life. Internal and external flames intensify, heat and passion, anger and aggression are fanned. These energies are heightened as a result of Mars's direct gaze 8 houses away. With Sun now in Ardra nakshatra in close proximity to retrograde Mercury, the mind is likely to have an edge to it. Have you noticed? Or are you blaming it on everyone else? Is the past haunting you? Moon will be sandhi the majority of the afternoon, moving to the edge of Aries. It jumps into Taurus at 18:48 CDT, assuming its position and degrees of exaltation. A rare example of how sandhi degrees (when a planet is in the gap between signs) can actually be a strong placement. Read more about sandhi in my recent article: Living in Limbo. Moon joins Venus in Taurus, who is nicely placed in its own sign right now. Moon is friendly to everyone, however, Venus isn't fond of the Moon. These two, however, are out of the gaze of the other planets right now so this will allow them to share and shine. Look for some strong waves of creativity, inner flow and fluidity, movement and grace. Dance, sing, make art. Let your creative acts stoke your inner flames tonight. Watch how you relate to others and don't lash out. Instead, use your emotions to deepen your inner relationship. Tuesday, June 24th Moon is exalted and in Krittika nakshatra enlivening the Sun and Agni. Heat and fire rule the first half of the day. Work with themes of cutting, clearing, purification and transformation. Just after midday, Moon moves into Rohini nakshatra at 13:48 CDT, having crossed over Venus by this point. In this position, Moon moves from exaltation into mulitrikona, but is still a strong placement for it, out of the gaze of other planets. Our creativity is intensified. Are ideas percolating and gathering steam? Keep a piece of paper and a pen near by and have your journal handy for doodles, sketches and list making. Take your sketches into dancing, let your dancing become paintings. Move, flow, and let the creativity move you and be moved by you. Sing, communicate, share, connect. Wednesday, June 25th The first half of the day, Moon continues through Rohini nakshatra. The creative suggestions from yesterday still apply. Keep a piece of paper and a pen near by and have your journal handy for doodles, sketches and list making. Take your sketches into dancing, let your dancing become paintings. Move, flow, and let the creativity move you and be moved by you. Sing, communicate, share, connect. As Moon moves into Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 15:28 CDT, instant change occurs. The pace of the deer and its swiftness carries us into action, movement and momentum. Can you feel the shift take place within you? Think in terms of action steps. Soma and Mars are enlivened with this nakshatra, life giving qualities surface and offer their sustenance. What life giving nourishment can you move towards? Pay attention for the messages maybe strong or they may be subtle. Thursday, June 26th Moon crosses into Gemini in the early hours of the morning at 04:26 am CDT, though still in Mrigashirsha nakshatra. It joins retrograde Mercury in this nakshatra and Sun in Ardra nakshatra. These three planets receive gaze from Rahu nine houses away, intensifying the mental/emotional edge and our shadow issues. Moon crosses directly over Mercury around 7:30 am CDT which will likely intensify the mental body tussle with the emotions. Make your daily to-do list over breakfast and if you can start your day with a more gentle approach, do it. Try meditation, gentle yoga, a quiet walk outdoors. This is a good day to count to ten before speaking and to get plenty of fresh air and physical movement. Get out of the head and into the body! Ready to take action? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop today where we explore Mars and action steps. Venus moves into Rohini nakshatra at 17:08 CDT. Expect creativity to be flowing in the coming weeks! Get out your paints, dance, draw, sing, write. Share your work with others. Be nourished by your creativity and let others nourish you with theirs. This placement of Venus may help our sense of security and thriving. Let the abundance flow towards you and through you. Moon moves to Ardra nakshatra at 17:29 CDT as it nears the Sun. Emotions intensify with Rudra and Rahu heightened here, so watch yourself and don't let the mind get away with its usual shenanigans. Inner tracking will be important to avoid overwhelm. At this time, Moon is already well into the 15th tithi, the final phase of its waning cycle. Do a three level check in for greater awareness. Friday, June 27th Moon transits Gemini with retrograde Mercury and Sun. All receive drishti from a very sandhi Rahu. New Moon is at 3:08 am CDT while in Gemini and Ardra nakshatra. Ruled by Rudra and Rahu, Ardra nakshatra brings with it a certain intensity- whether through the emotions or through physical movement and change; think forcefulness. Rudra is connected to storms, storm energy, as well as prana as he is the father of the Maruts, or inner winds. Externally he manifests as a storm god; internally he manifests as the five types of Prana within the body. Harnessing the winds can be powerful for inner change or outer change. His association with anger and intense emotion is an example of his abilities with power. Anger after all is extremely powerful and is a form of passion and strength. How will you use this strength? This New Moon is not the silent, soft and quiet kind. For there is immense power available to us at this time. It is quiet and inward as any empty new Moon is, yet be mindful of the power available within this silence. What are you creating? Cultivating? And inviting in at this time? What is your relationship to the inner and outer winds? Start your day off with meditation, pranayama and yoga. Get the inner prana moving and in this new waxing cycle upon us, attend to the needs of the inner winds. Emotional well being is intimately related to physical well being. Use this coming cycle to attend to your inner dynamics. Work with emotions directly and note where the challenges arrive. Are you attending to your needs? Letting the mind run the show? Bypassing the emotions? Does the body have a message for you that you have been neglecting to listen to? Listen closely for clues and your inner wisdom. Do a three level check in for greater awareness. Moon moves to Punarvasu nakshatra at 19:49 CDT, enlivening Jupiter and Aditi energy. Saturday, June 28th Mars moves from Hasta nakshatra into Chitra nakshatra at 6:36 am CDT. Mars and Rahu are nearing each other as we prepare for their exact conjunction in the coming weeks. This is a very intense and charged time so be mindful of these energetics in general with regard to your Self, life and relationships. Mars will be in Chitra for roughly a month (through the end of July). This nakshatra is ruled by Mars (heat, passion, aggression, action) and the deity Vishvakarma. He is the "cosmic architect" who loves to create, build, plan and orchestrate. The action oriented association to the planet Mars (both within the nakshatra and by Mars's transit through Chitra) insures that foundations will be laid, steps will be taken and changes will be amplified. Par for the course as we look at the grande planetary shifts happening right now and in the coming weeks! Change is here! Moon transits Gemini with retrograde Mercury, and Sun and is in Punarvasu nakshatra. Aditi, mother of all goodness and unity is enlivened as well as the planet Jupiter. Perhaps you can feel the expansion and a greater smoothness enter your mind as a result of the Moon's shift. As it nears the gap midday, the softness heightens and offers an opening to us. What is coming through the portal for you? Jupiter is a sign away, exalted in Cancer, and can offer some awareness. Are you inviting it in yet? Are you in Houston? Join me at Bayou Bliss Yoga for my Jupiter workshop. Need a virtual workshop instead? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop online tomorrow instead. Moon moves into Cancer, its own sign, joining exalted Jupiter there at 15:45 CDT. Both receive drishti from retrograde Saturn in this position. Jupiter has gained strength at this point and is now over the two degree mark which helps our sense of stability, expansion and wisdom. Jupiter and Moon basque in each others radiance as Moon crosses over him. They both offer a gentle awareness to us through heart, emotions, and expanded wisdom. Let it flow. Look for sweet balms of the heart and emotions today. What soothes, nurtures and flows toward you? Feeling restricted and collapsed? This can be from Saturn's gaze. Be easy with the opening. You don't have to force it. Just be willing to invite in, expand and grow. Moon moves into Pushya nakshatra at 22:26 CDT. Sunday, June 29th Moon transits its own sign of Cancer and Pushya nakshatra with exalted Jupiter. Both receive drishti from retrograde Saturn in this position. Jupiter has gained strength at this point and is over the two degree mark which helps our sense of stability, expansion and wisdom. Pushya provides nourishment from Brihaspati (a personified Jupiter) and the planet Saturn. The symbol is the udder of a cow, who offers nourishment to her calf. This is the nourishment palpable with Pushya nakshatra. What is flowing towards you? Away from you? What are you inviting in? Where is the flow being obstructed? Our nourishment and sense of nourishment is directly connected to how able we are to receive. This is a vulnerable position, unlike the position of giving, which is the power position. Today, think in terms of balancing both the give and receive and notice how vital they are to each other. They are truly interrelated functions required for getting our needs met from life, relationships and our environment. Using the metaphor of inhale and exhale, the dance of the life force can be a potent tool of awareness. Use my Jupiter expand/contract workshop for more insights. Ready to take action? Join me for my final Cosmic Creative Self workshop today where we explore Mars and action steps. Was this post helpful to you? Please share it! Have you signed up for my newsletter yet? Weekly, I send out vital jyotish resources that enliven creativity, consciousness and embodiment. Please sign up! Moon is waxing and passes through Cancer, Leo, Virgo and into Libra this week.
Monday, June 2nd Moon transits through Cancer (its own sign) and is in Pushya nakshatra the majority of the day. Moon in Cancer receives drishti (gaze) from retrograde Saturn, and Pushya nakshatra enlivens its ruler, Brihaspati (another name for Jupiter). However, this nakshatra is in fact ruled by Saturn, so we get direct access to the expansion (Jupiter) and contraction (Saturn) elements today. The dynamics of Saturn at play with the Moon can bring a restrictive feeling. Saturn is our grief and suffering and the Moon is our emotional body, so you may feel like you're being wrung out like a wet towel. Jupiter expands and opens, whereas Saturn contracts and restricts. Moon in Cancer is a direct connection to all matters of the heart. Use the metaphor of the heart to serve you today. The natural open and close, inhale and exhale of the heart and breath is a lovely reminder of how both these elements are necessary for life. This is the ultimate balance. Nourishment can be harvested and received with some surrender today. Harvest for the golden nuggets with extra self care. How can we use structure and restraint today in order for nourishment? Attend to your inner needs. Find nourishment and support in the slow, small, and steady. Seek the gentle silence. Work with expand and contract, open and close principles as well as the other dynamics of the heart lotus while Moon is in Cancer. Find my Exalted Jupiter & Heart mp3 here for greater creative awareness and support with this dynamic. Later in the day, Moon moves to Ashlesha nakshatra at 18:19 CDT, heightening its deity Sarpa (snake energy) and the planet Mercury (who is currently transiting its own sign, Gemini). Mind over matter strengthens into Tuesday. Embodiment will be crucial this evening and tomorrow. If you have trouble sleeping tonight, do an abhyanga (Ayurvedic oil massage) and take a warm bath before bed. Pranayama may help silence the mind as well. Tuesday, June 3rd Moon transits its own sign of Cancer and Ashlesha nakshatra through out the day and into the evening. This nakshatra is ruled by Sarpa and the planet Mercury; the symbol is a coiled serpent. Serpent energy is connected to a bit of mischief; deception, the illusions of life and overconfidence. Think: north node, Rahu who is the "head of the serpent", or the head of our shadow self. Look for excessive cravings today. Where are you wanting more? Where are you needing extra support and nourishment? Where is the mind leading you astray? Ask for your needs to be met. Make a list of what is feeling nourishing and supportive in your life and relationships. Make a list of what isn't feeling supportive and nourishing. Where can you make some adjustments? What needs to be said that you are avoiding? What poisons are you feeding your Self from the Mental Body? Seek clarity. Seek comfort. Align with support. Moon moves to Leo and Magha nakshatra at 21:18 CDT, enlivening our masculine/Sun energy. Wednesday, June 4th Venus moves to Bharani nakshatra at 03:57 am CDT. Sensitivity heightens with relationship matters over the next two weeks. Be perceptive to your own needs and use self care for extra support. There are transformations and endings likely with relationships, creativity and all Venus matters. This is a time of cleaning and clearing, restructuring and creating new contracts. These themes are heightened due to Venus's conjunction with Ketu in Aries right now. Remember, letting go creates space for new possibilities to arrive. Moon transits Leo and Magha nakshatra today. A nice exchange occurs between Leo (ruled by the Sun who is currently transiting Taurus) and Taurus (ruled by Moon who is transiting Leo today). This can give a boost to the emotions, a sense of encouragement and support, and bolster the spirit. Some may feel extra agitation and annoyance, a lack of support and the desire to force change. You might feel a shift within some of your relationships today. We are all in a pruning phase right now. Changes are inevitable. New contracts are being created, while old one's disintegrate. As Magha nakshatra is ruled by Pitr and the karma of the ancestors, take time for gratitude and thanks for your lineage and those that have come before you. It might also be valuable to take stock of familial patterns and where this conditioning is serving you or not serving you. Thursday, June 5th Moon moves into Purvaphalguni nakshatra just after midnight at 00:11 am CDT. Ruled by Bhaga (an Aditya connected to resources and abundance) and the planet Venus, Purvaphalguni is incredibly creative and fertile; ripe with possibility. Use this as the focus of your day. How can you invite in more creativity, more connection, more opportunities for growth and abundance into your life? What feels nourishing and supportive within your relationships? What needs to shift? Invite in more joy, play and pleasure today and see if some of it can stick! This is a great day to get out the paints, oil pastels and do one of my creative rituals. Need some support? Sign up for one of my upcoming creative workshops. Friday, June 6th Moon transits into Uttaraphalguni nakshatra at 02:47 am CDT, which is the latter half of the Phalguni stars. At 09:21 am CDT, Moon moves into Virgo, joining Mars there. Uttarphalguni enlivens Aryaman (an Aditya that gives health and bodily strength) as well as the Sun. This constellation connects us to sustainable parts of life, particularly those that sustain relationships and are connected to the ancestors. Need to create a contract or make something feel more solid and sustainable? Today's a good day for that type of endeavor. Most of us will feel a lift in the heart, extra support from loved ones. Make sure you do the same for others and remember your gratitude! Some may feel a rub and agitation with relationships. Take stock. What shifts do your personal boundaries need? Saturday, June 7th Mercury goes retrograde in Gemini at 06:54 am CDT. Need a reminder about what his backpedaling will offer? Find more here. Moon Moves to Hasta nakshatra at 04:52 am CDT as it nears Mars, also in Hasta nakshatra. Hasta is ruled by Savitr and the Moon. Savitr is the dawning of consciousness, awakening, and brings knowledge and great insight. He enlivens the hands and is connected to jyotish. Pay close attention to your intuition today as harvesting your inner wisdom will be palpable if you are listening. Recite Gayatri Mantra for extra support. Moon and Mars are in exact degrees at 18:31 CDT. Sharp intuition and awareness abounds, yet simultaneously, we may be feeling agitation and aggression as Moon and Mars make their conjunction. Anger is our red flag that personal boundaries are being crossed and that we aren't feeling supported in some way. Do an emotional audit. What needs to shift in your relationships? Where do you need to say no, instead of yes? Sunday, June 8th Sun moves out of Rohini and into Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 00:41 am CDT. Soma, the nectar of the Moon and the planet Mars are enlivened for the next two weeks with this dance of the Sun. We may feel noncommittal in the coming weeks, and find challenges making choices in regard to relationships. Remember that Venus's transit through Bharani is helping us restructure our contracts. The themes of change, movement and new alignments abound. Moon transits to Chitra nakshatra at 06:17 am CDT. Ruled by Vishvakarma and the planet Mars, today is a day of action. Vishvakarma, the celestial architect, calls upon us to take action (karma) and provides resources that we can "build upon". What are you moving towards? What are you moving away from? Take an action step today. Join me for part 3 of my virtual workshop series the Creative and Cosmic Self, where we will be exploring: Moving with Support and Stability. Working with Saturn in Libra & the Pelvis. Get the details. Moon transits into Libra at 18:42 CDT, joining Rahu (also in Chitra) and Saturn here. Our emotional body (Moon) joins the Rudra (storm) energy of Rahu and Saturn's conjunction. Work with what is, do not avoid or neglect. Explore the emotional body and let it provide you with resources. Remember, with Mercury retrograde right now, we are all retracing steps, while simultaneously gaining momentum for moving forward. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Never miss my Moon Mind Calendar. Sign up for my newsletter. And if you like this post, please share it! Full Moon this week! Moon moves through Libra, Scorpio and into Sagittarius this week. Moon begins to wane (Krishna Paksha) after the full Moon on Wednesday + Buddha Jayanti.
Monday, 5.12 Moon moves into Libra this morning, joining Rahu and retrograde Saturn here. Simultaneously, exalted Sun and Ketu give direct gaze seven houses away and Jupiter offers his gaze from five houses away. The complexity of the full Moon in Libra on Wednesday begins to stir within us. Desires mount. Monday starts with a demand for action as Moon transits Chitra nakshatra. Vishvakarma (the celestial architect) is the ruler of Chitra, as is Mars, the planet of karma/action. This energy is about building, creating, serving and performing karma yoga. Today, start your week off on the right foot. Plan, organize, use strategy, clarify your ideas, create and expand your objectives. Take effective action and cross something big off your to-do list. Get clear on the big picture, but use details and step by step instructions to get the job done. Moon moves to Swati nakshatra at 21:23 CDT. Tuesday, 5.13 Swati nakshatra enlivens Vayu (the wind god) and Rahu today. The winds of change are blowing. Do you feel it? What direction are they blowing for you? What changes are being enlivened within you and around you? What is your response to these winds? Pay attention to Nature today as she will likely show us her directions through wind, rain and storms. Vayu brings change; he does so by "house cleaning", creating movement, is connected to breath, wind and strength. Whatever is being moved today, trust that it is creating space for something new to arrive. Are you moving with gentle breezes or gale force winds? What is your response to these winds? Remember, movement is good. Bend with the wind though, don't break. Moon moves to Vishaka nakshatra at 21:05. The Moon will already be in its final tithi (phase) at this time as it ripens towards fullness. Wednesday, 5.14 Full Moon is on Wednesday, May 14th at 14:15 CDT in Libra and Vishaka nakshatra. Moon will be sandhi at the edge of Libra receiving direct gaze from a sandhi exalted Sun and Ketu in Aries. Yet another opportunity to revisit the same metaphors and challenges, lessons and reminders from the many previous months as Libra and Aries have been in the spotlight for months now. This full Moon is intricate as well as celebratory. It is Budhha Jayanti (also called Buddha Purnima), the celebration of Lord Buddhas birthday. Auspiciously, the celebration falls on a Wednesday this year, day of Mercury, the mind. May Lord Buddha's strength in mind and liberation of being ignite us! Jai Buddha! This full Moon is in Vishaka nakshatra and at the edge of changing signs at 29'51; very much in the gap (sandhi) heading into Scorpio its sign of debilitation. Moon moves to Scorpio just fifteen minutes later at 14:30 CDT. Vishaka is ruled by a dual god, Indra and Agni. They sit at the portal entrance and allow the transformational process of our offerings to take place. Offerings of nourishment, that then becomes potent and palpable to them, and in turn they make these offerings potent and palpable for us. We see this pair at work in yagyas and puja offerings. Whatever is offered on the altar, alchemically transforms and becomes nourishment for the gods, who then bless us with their protection and support. Sun moves out of Aries its sign of exaltation, and into Taurus on 5.14 at 17:33 CDT. He transits Taurus until June 15th. Moon moves to Anuradha nakshatra at 20:14 CDT. Read more about the meanings of full Moon + Sun transit here. Thursday, 5.15 Moon transits Anuradha nakshatra, ruled by Mitra, the friendly star. He's an Aditya (provides nourishment and support) and is a form of the Sun and connected to day time. Friendship and alliances are enlivened through Mitra, as well as help, support and the special connections in life that sustain us. Mitra likes fine detail and has a knack for change and renewal; he loves travel and a change of scenery. As Moon will be receiving direct gaze (drishti) from a sandhi Sun (newly changed signs) and Mercury in Taurus, watch the critic today. Re-direct it. Zoom out and look at the big picture if you feel your self using the zoom lens too much. Focus instead on unifying factors and helpful connections. We may be feeling small within ourselves on some level, which can heighten the tendency to find fault with others. What needs to shift? Moon moves to Jyeshtha nakshatra at 18:55 CDT. Working with the mental body will be especially effective right now and throughout tomorrow. Friday, 5.16 Jyeshtha is ruled by Indra and the planet Mercury. Indra is immensely powerful and king of the devas (gods). Considered the rain god, Indra has the ability to "open the floodgates" so to speak. Indra is also connected to pranic forces and has extremely heightened sensitivity- which translates as heightened awareness. We are reminded by him though that we must not be controlled entirely by our senses. Today you may notice an increased sensitivity- and in that sensitivity a certain and defined power. We might experience this as a vulnerability that cultivates inner strength. We may note our ability to be clear with boundaries today and our defined needs. Be in your power and arrive into your great sensitivity. Both are assets that will take you far. Working with the mental body directly today will be especially effective. Moon changes signs to Sagittarius at 17:16 CDT and moves into Mula nakshatra at this time. Nirrti, the wife of adharma steps onto the scene. Don't let her lack of dharmic pursuits derail you tonight. Saturday, 5.17 As dishevelment and destruction rules the greater part of the day via Mula nakshatra and Nirrti today, expect plans to not be seamless. Give your self extra time to accomplish tasks and relax your agenda. Loosen the reigns. Work on deconstruction, letting go, uprooting and purging today. Moon gets drishti (gaze) today from multiple planets which compounds the chaos at play. Saturn, Mars and Ketu give their heat, pressure and restructuring energy, while Jupiter may soften the blow or at least help us "learn the lessons" that are present. Be leisurely and use self care as much as possible today. Moon moves to Purvashada nakshatra at 15:26 CDT and more flow arrives with Apas, the water goddess. Sunday, 5.18 Purvashada and Apas, the water goddess, helps us with flow more effortlessly. She cleanses and offers rejuvenation- through emotional release and purification, allowing us to connect to the pure flow of love as well. Sensitive feelings are part of this nakshatra and though Moon receives drishti (gaze) today from multiple planets which compounds the emotions, we also have the ability to be cleansed by these emotions as well. Saturn, Mars and Ketu give their heat, pressure and restructuring energy, while Jupiter may soften the blow or at least help us "learn the lessons" present. But because Purvashada is ruled by the planet Venus, a greater ability to love and be loved is experienced here. Let it seep into your pores, and into your veins. Let the love wash over you and through you today. Let it heal you and rejuvenate you. You are loved. Moon moves to Uttarashada nakshatra at 13:33 CDT; Vishvadeva and the planet Sun predominate. Finish the day with a sense of duty and a "do-good" mentality. Help and share. Offer the clarity of love from the previous part of the day and Saturday evening. Let your light shine. Prepare to step forward! Mars goes direct tomorrow. Plan your week, sign up for my newsletter here. Moon moves through Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and into Sagittarius this week. Moon reaches its fullness on 4.15 at 2:41 CDT while in Libra. More details below as well as in my current planetary report + horoscopes for the waning Moon cycle. Monday, 4.14 Sun is now exalted in Aries, joining Ketu there as well. Sun is in weak degrees until Wednesday so try to get away with using less energy; don't push too hard. Moon finishes up its transit through Virgo today, crossing over Mars directly around noon (the hottest part of the day) and is in close degrees with him throughout the day. This can heat the emotions, create aggression and stir the Pitta. Watch your temper and emotions and if anger arrives, notice what boundaries you allowed to be crossed. Did you say yes, when you should have said no? Moon is in Hasta nakshatra the first part of the day which is ruled by Savitr. He grants us awakening, the dawning of awareness as well as increased creativity and healing potential through the hands. Be present to some stirring, some dawning within you today. What new understanding or insights arrive this morning? The Moon/Mars conjunction can also bring a deepened connection with the Divine Mother- notice where she gives her blessings. Use Gayatri Mantra to start your day. As Moon moves to Chitra at 12:10 CDT, the connection with Vishvakarma strengthens. He is the celestial architect, who helps our building and planning become actualized. He is especially connected to artisans and those wishing to expand their potential. This also marks Hanuman Jayanti, the celebration of Hanuman's birth. The festivities begin when the waxing Moon is at its fullest (15th tithi) and enters Chitra nakshatra during this particular season of the Vedic calendar. Hanuman is considered a Rudra (a god of intense strength and power) and overcame many obstacles and opponents (the rakshasa/demon Ravana and his army) out of love, devotion and service to Lord Raam and goddess Sita. May he serve as a reminder to us of what odds can be overcome, what power we each posses, and what love and devotion can accomplish. The lunar eclipse begins at 11:55 pm CDT as Moon reaches its fullness and crosses paths with the Sun. Tuesday, 4.15 Moon enters Libra just after midnight joining Rahu and retrograde Saturn there as well. It reaches its peak fullness at 2:41 am CDT while in Chitra nakshatra. The lunar eclipse reaches its maximum at 02:46am CDT and continues until 05:36 am CDT. With the direct gaze from Sun and Ketu in Aries, and Jupiter in Gemini, as well as an eclipse, this full Moon is one of intensity and a great collision of energies. It is a good time to evaluate where we are using sheer physical strength and stamina and where we are not effectively using beneficial mental strategy to help us achieve our long term goals and objectives. Become aware of how to do less, while maximizing your efforts. In other words, the mantra "less is more", is still pertinent to the day and to the weeks ahead. This is certainly a time of pruning and cutting out all that is unnecessary. More on the meaning of this full Moon for the coming waning cycle in my planetary report. Moon crosses directly over Rahu late morning. Moon moves to Swati nakshatra at 12:37 pm CDT (ending the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations) which is ruled by the planet Rahu and Vayu, the wind god. The mind and body will likely be clouded today so allow extra time for going about your day. Be careful while driving and traveling today especially. The lunar eclipse marks a delicate two week period until the solar eclipse on the 29th. In the Vedic tradition, this is not a time to take risks, start new endeavors, or to over-exert. It is a time, however, of turning inward, of meditation and contemplation, and a time to take extra care of the physical body with good routine etc. Wednesday, 4.16 Moon moves to Vishaka nakshatra at 12:35 pm CDT ruled by the dual natured god, Indragni and the planet Jupiter. Seek alliance and support today. Notice where you can make changes in your life to create greater assistance for your Self and get things done more efficiently. Are you forgetting to ask for what you need? Are you pushing too hard? Where are you resisting change? As Moon nears Saturn, it is extremely important and valuable to listen to our bodies for subtle insights. What messages is the body giving you? Thursday, 4.17 Moon finishes up its transit through Libra after crossing directly over retrograde Saturn in the wee hours of the morning, then moves to Scorpio at 6:17 am CDT. Moon is considered debilitated in Scorpio which makes the Moon extra sensitive. This sensitivity can be helpful for intuition and a refined awareness, however, it must be handled with care. As Moon moves into Anuradha nakshatra at 12:08 pm CDT, this sensitivity heightens, especially for the physical body and the mind/body connection. Stamina may be lower, so find ways to self care and treat the physical and mental bodies with TLC. The tendency, however, may be to do the opposite. Avoid getting lost in the details, try to zoom out and get a bigger picture if necessary. Reach out to friends and alliances for support and comfort. Work with the theme "giving and receiving." Friday, 4.18 Moon moves to Jyeshta nakshatra just before noon at 11:21 am CDT just as Sun nears exact conjunction with Ketu. The mind and body may be extra sensitive today so take this into consideration if irritations arise. With Indra and Mercury ruling this nakshatra, and the current planetary transits, it is an excellent time for self tracking. Likely the irritations in the mind will be a result of some physical need not being met. Can you trace the issue back to the need? Can you find a healthy way to get your need met? It may require self care strategies, alone time, and restructuring previous plans. You may also need to shift your relationships around. Do what it takes to preserve your mental comfort and physical support. Venus moves into Purvabhadra nakshatra today. We may notice an increase in relationship and financial support as a result over the next 12 days, while using a one pointed focus and agenda. This can also be a time of purification and change as well; allow the change, don't resist it. Saturday, 4.19 Moon moves to Sagittarius and into Mula nakshatra at 10:17 am CDT and receives direct drishti/gaze from Jupiter seven houses away in Gemini, retrograde Saturn in Libra, as well as retrograde Mars in Virgo. Mula is also a challenging nakshatra that often is responsible for a sense of chaos and dishevelment. Don't plan to be anywhere on time today- or expect to arrive in an orderly fashion. Best use of time and energy is with restorative measures for the mental, emotional and physical bodies. The rulers of Mula are Ketu and Nirrti (the dark goddess married to adharma- against dharma). She brings uprooting, change and removals, but the end results can be greater overall health and wellness. With Ketu and Sun in close degrees today and in Ashwini nakshatra respectively, this is a great day to pay special attention to the physical body, to use healing remedies and to put attention on self care regimens. Additionally, Mercury is weak in degrees in its sign of debilitation which requires careful navigation of the mental body, communication and decision making. Use your inner wisdom and go for silence today. Sunday, 4.20 Mercury moves to Aries at 6:56 am CDT, joining exalted Sun and Ketu there as well. Moon moves to PurvAshada nakshatra at 9:01 CDT. Apas the water goddess rules the day. Allow flow to happen. Where are you stopping fluidity in your life? Where is the resistance to movement, change, growth and new possibilities? Focus your efforts and attention on abundance, life giving support and your own vitality today. Right now it is all about self care. |
