With Navaratri starting this new waxing Moon phase, it's appropriate to cultivate our relationship with the warrior goddess Self. Navaratri begins with three days dedicated to Durga- a fierce and powerful goddess known for winning countless battles against evil forces. Lakshmi and Saraswati have their own strengths and powers, overcoming difficulties in multi faceted ways.
The warrior god/goddess Self is within each of us, though we may not have noticed. This hard and soft being within often doesn't get a chance to fully express itself. The warrior Self is always complex, arrives when needed, hides if necessary, and can remain voiceless, expressionless, unless tended to, acknowledged and nurtured. Part 1: Come to your drawing pad. Choose a medium that strikes you. Is it paint, craypas, pen and pencil, or maybe even collage or clay instead? Use the harvesting questions to prompt your inner inquiry as you arrive at bringing your warrior out from your hidden depths. Let the colors, textures, shapes and images speak to the feelings of this warrior goddess. Take 30 minutes for this piece. Harvesting Questions: What does my warrior have to say? Is he/she/it connected to certain body part(s)? What parts are the most fierce, most alive? What colors does your warrior embody? What does its soft side say? Does it have a flowing side? Nurturing side? Brave side? Vulnerable side? How do the change in seasons effect this warrior? What does your warrior ask of you? What does it need? Circle ten words that strike you most from your writing. Part 2: Look at your image. Pick one element of your art piece- a color, texture, shape, etc. Stand while closing your eyes and envision this element- then begin to move your body. Move this element of your drawing; bring it alive in your body. Move with the shape, color, texture etc. Where is it expressed in your body? How is your body reacting? What sensations, feelings, emotions come up? Your warrior has many sides to it. You are letting one of these come through you. If any of your words come to mind from your writing, say them aloud. Speak, move, embody this part of your Self; cultivate your relationship with this internal energy. Let this last 5 to 10 minutes. Come to stillness. Ask your image one more time if it has anything to tell you. Listen carefully.

I have made a shift to my content. My planetary transit reports + horoscopes will now be written bimonthly, with the waxing and waning cycles of the Moon in mind. These cycles are both relevant and poignant for our internal/external experiences, and I feel they more accurately represent my work, the connection I have with the Moon, and the way I can serve you in a meaningful way. Creative Engagement Activities will also be posted twice monthly with these Moon cycles in mind. Additionally, I will now be posting a Seven Day Moon Mind Calendar at the top of each week, which will help you maximize the expression of each day, the knowledge of the nakshatras, and will serve as a fine tuning portion of my other offerings. I welcome your feedback and hope to hear how this new cycle of offerings works for you. Namaste~
Moon is now waxing (Shukla Paksha) and transits Pisces to Libra during the next two weeks. Moon is exalted and in its mulatrikona sign of Taurus from 4.02 to 4.04. In its own sign of Cancer from the 7th to the 9th. And enters Libra on the 15th, joining Rahu and Saturn, priming us for a full Lunar eclipse shortly there after. Get my daily Moon Mind calendar for each week via my blog and FaceBook. Vasant Navaratri begins on the 31st and continues for nine days and nights, ending on the 8th. The first three days are dedicated to Durga, The second third is for honoring Lakshmi, and the final three days for Saraswati. Moon will be transiting Aries for the majority of Durga's days- offering cutting, clearing and healing. Moon transits Taurus and then into Gemini during Lakshmi's days, creating a greater sense of creativity, as well as inner and outer expansion. For the final three days of Navaratri, dedicated to goddess Saraswati, Moon will be transiting Gemini and into Cancer, offering comfort, support and a sense of wholeness. Use this time to self track; note your experiences- both inner and outer. This is a sacred time with no coincidences, so pay attention. Read more about Vasant Navaratri and how to connect with the goddesses. Venus moves to Aquarius on 3.30 at 23:11 CDT, joining Mercury there for a few short days. In Aquarius, he receives drishti from both Rahu and Jupiter from this position. At the top of the week, he is still young in degrees, so still delicate and in transition. The next month will offer some rise, some raises, but only through seemingly impossible feats. Pieces that you are holding firmly to, will need to be let go of and burned, purified and released, in order for advancement. The tethers that are binding you and the intense dance you've been doing to "make it all happen" need to shift and change for greater sustainability. What are you clinging to? What old manure do you keep stepping in? This month (as Mercury's shift to Pisces dictates as well) is about upgrading the way you do business. The business of life, of relationships, communication, creativity, work and joy. Let the shift come- even if it begins with crumbling, rubble, and chaos. You will be offered tools, choices and options for how you want to rebuild with more stability. Mercury moves to Pisces on the 3rd at 20:48 CDT, which is its sign of debilitation. He joins Sun here and gets direct drishti from retrograde Mars. This transit, though relatively short in duration (a little over two weeks) may bring a feeling of being pulled in too many directions. Retrograde Mars will force the issue and request that all things Mercury get pierced, pushed into action, and at the least, force you to put some attention and focus on these issues. The Mercury Mars tension can bring a "too many irons in the fire" experiences- where every iron gets hot and requires your attention. Simultaneously, there is an exchange between Mercury in Pisces and Jupiter in Gemini which insures growth in the process. To maximize this, turn everything into a smaller, more bite sized morsel if possible. Prioritize everything. Only the most time sensitive details should get your top focus in the coming weeks. See this time as a way to clean up and upgrade your actions, abilities and purpose. The positives can be more mental acuity, precise and clear agendas if you laser focus on details that matter most. Overall, some expansion is likely from your efforts if you can avoid mental drain. Sun moves to its position of exaltation on 4.13 at 20:42 CDT where it joins Ketu, receives drishti from a retrograde and compromised Saturn, as well as Rahu. Mars gives his drishti from Virgo, bringing an extra level of heat and pressure. Despite the challenging combinations at play, there is clearly moksha in the works from this configuration and the nakshatras involved. The coming weeks of Sun in Aries, bring surprises, pressures and awakenings that insure liberation on multiple levels. This transit occurs right before the full lunar eclipse on the 15th. Exalted Sun is a time when Sun is the "fullest" in his experience of life; his energy is maximized and feeling its own power. With power comes great responsibility, a need for purpose and a request of intention- in order for maximum alignment with dharma. His cohabitation with Ketu at this time indicates cleansing, restructuring and purification of our soul, our sense of dharma, purpose and power. Ketu's extraction process is usually not fun and often comes quickly. Prepare to feel naked and vulnerable. You may also feel stripped at times and uncertain who and what to trust. Though many dire and dramatic predictions are circulating about this year's set of eclipses, it's important to remember that with any bout of chaos, a restructuring of power is inevitable- both with our own inner, personal power, and our experience with it. I will share more about the lunar eclipse in my next post, but suffice it to say, the theme of "cleaning and clearing" from the inside out, is relevant and potent for this month, for the eclipses, and for the delicate time between the lunar and solar eclipses. It is a big year with multiple {major} planetary changes. We will experience the changes of Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu, Saturn and unusual movements of Mars all in the next eleven months. Big changes are in store for each of us! Feeling uncertain about your action steps? What needs to change in order for growth? What kind of support you need? Schedule a yearly progression with me in order to make your New Year a truly transformational year. I still have some sessions available for the end of April and the first part of May. *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: You've been waiting for the curtain to come up and the spotlight to shine on you. Your moment is coming as Sun moves to your first house, but in the meantime, there's still some ripening to be done. Find clarity by prioritizing life properly. This includes making sure Self and family values are in place, while relationships are clear and in order. Who and what do you keep locking heads with? What fears are holding you back? It's time to get what you want, but you have to do things in a new way. Taurus: Gains to losses. Outer to inner. Rise to fall. These become themes for your next two weeks. Your need for stability, comfort and support brings you some ultimatums, choices and creative action. There's tension with alone time, silence, marriage, and relationship contracts simultaneously. Your healing work is needed like never before, and the theme of listening carefully to your gut is more important than ever. Belly dance. Gemini: This could be a challenging time for career and how you present your Self if you don't communicate from the heart. Then again, that's no guarantee that you will be received well; at least you will be authentic to your Self which is a worthy effort. Relationships in general may be stifling your creative forces, causing frustration and misalignment. There are strong cravings for more harmony. Achievements and gains come through your own self initiated courage once Sun moves to Aries. Be prepared to step like lightning. Cancer: Learning turns to wisdom in the coming weeks as you ingest and digest, assimilate and filter out what you need. Meditation is nourishment for the soul and an important part of this download phase that you are in. As heart and emotions go through yet another cycle of transformation, overhaul and reboot, sparks begin to fly in your career house with the transit of Sun moving to Aries. Restructuring of home and heart comes with it. Leo: Your momentum builds over the next two weeks and moves from silent inner realms, to outer, courageous leaps. You will need to keep the inner intention, however, for the time being and not neglect your meditation practice. Use what stirs you and your inner depths to inform your outer experiences. Your ego gets a buff and shine when Sun moves to your 9th house, and comes with an emotional cleanse. The good news is your courage will strengthen once the dust settles. Virgo: Finding comfort and harmony within your life and relationships is a general theme in this waxing Moon phase. There is a renewed sense of learning from love while healing simultaneously. And yet, intense inner transformation abounds mostly through letting go- of expectations, "shoulds" and past "mistakes". Your perfectionism gets a make over in other words. Prepare for a brighter polish as Sun moves to Aries. This will be a rest phase for you, but don't mistake that for the amount of change this vacation will bring. Libra: From inner to outer is the theme for the next two weeks. Scrub, polish, shine, repeat. Gut and digestion are sensitive and need your attention. Bad mental habits can creep in without you noticing- at first. Get ahead of your Self by staying true to course. Agendas, action steps and plans help set your intention, even if you get blown off course. Sparks and endings are inevitable with relationships. Try not to blow a fuse and keep your head on. Scorpio: Awareness, intention, transformation and liberation rule the weeks ahead. Intuition gains depth and potency, which assists career matters greatly. You will use this wisdom for healing and refining your work with others as Sun enters Aries. Prepare for an ego scrub closer to the eclipse. This may help you clarify a piece of your work that you've been lax about. On the other hand, a certain laser focus regarding duty, purpose and self worth is strengthened. Sagittarius: Though hurdles and hoops will be required, the next two weeks help you affirm a new resolve with career. Heart and home matters turn to gains and connections for your internal and external process. Cravings to connect require your courage to act. Need for nourishment and support may be more attainable through self soothing than reaching out. Sparks fly as you get passionate about life. Cut out what is not working, and also by getting creative. This is what your career and offerings have been missing. Capricorn: This waxing Moon phase has you working hard on your motivations. Who and what is driving this ship, steering you on or off course? What is the underlying need here? Get creative with your courage and start thinking about your laser focused action plan that leads to greater fulfillment, enjoyment and less work. Yes, I said, less work. Working smarter, not harder, insures that you will be rich. How rich do you want to be? Aquarius: Speaking with purpose and offering wisdom and comfort to others has you thinking in new ways about how you share and who you share with. Hone in on your expert strengths and gifts and don't be afraid to upgrade some of your marketable skills with a bit more education. Communication shifts for the coming weeks and requires you to have extra clarity. Don't be wishy washy. Bold action steps and courage are forced upon you as Sun enters Aries. Look for the lessons; watch out for land mines. Pisces: You continue to re-visit some very old pieces of the puzzle. Some relationship return with the same old issues and concerns and yet nothing seems to have changed. Here in lies the frustration, the confusion, the disappointment and the grande discomfort. I can't help but hear Bob Dylan playing in the background: "Well, it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe. Even you don't know by now. And it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe. It'll never do somehow". It's not the clarity you should be looking for, it's the change agent. You are ripe and ready for transformation; relationships are shifting all around you. Get ready, you're about to be pushed further out of your comfort zone. Trust that this is necessary for your healing process to be complete. Moon is waning (Krishna Paksha) and transits Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and into Pisces this week.
For a jyotish Moon-centered approach to your day, follow my daily Moon Mind posts via Face Book. Mars moves back to Virgo at 00:44 CDT on 3.25 and is sandhi until next week. With Sun in Pisces now, both will be giving each other direct gaze or drishti- heating up mental matters, communications, networking, business and commerce. Creativity should take some lead. Think in new ways. Empower your Self. For more on Mars and his unusual dance this year see my past article. New Moon is Sunday 3.30 at 13:45 CDT while in Pisces and Uttarabhadrapada nakshatra- joining Sun here as well. Sun and Moon will be receiving drishti from Mars. Uttarabhadrapada is ruled by Saturn and Ahirbudhnya, the son of Vishvakarma and Surabhi. He is a serpent of the nether regions, hidden realms and mystical knowledge. He provokes studying, research and knowledge. Though he is a Rudra, he can remove calamity and misfortune because of his intense understanding and depth. This new Moon offers us insights, contemplation and a chance to move our attention inward for greater consciousness development over the next two weeks. A certain sharpness may be accessible and available to us at this time. Desires to grow, advance and expand our knowledge and understanding will be heightened as well. Paying attention to the physical body and the mind/body connection will be especially helpful during this cycle. Somatic integration is supported and encouraged. Think: embodiment. As Navaratri begins on the 31st with three days dedicated to Ma Durga, use this new Moon time for clearing, cleaning, purifying and cutting the attachments that are unhelpful and not bringing progress. Durga has our health and physical stamina on her list of desires. By moving inward, cultivating a space for listening, retreat and gentle focus, we can heighten our connection to Self and gain access to her wisdom at this time. Be still and step into your personal power. From softness to fierceness; let both inform your process. For increased awareness, utilize my jyotish inspired Body-centered Expressive Art Therapy articles. Each week I post a new Creative Engagement Activity to help inspire your own unique creative process, Self-tracking, and to enrich your cultivation of presence. The New Moon has us creating space this week with Mandalas. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: Themes of healing and digesting re-enter from stage right. Make sure you are taking time and space for these needs- especially over the weekend. Focus on financial goals and career objectives that will get you to your goals, but don't push too hard- yet. Don't expect much from relationships right now; this is a time for you and your needs as well as advancing your self. Taurus: Some learning and growth is presenting itself through friends and gains from your efforts is paying off. You are still cutting, snipping and clearing out pieces of life that don't work and no longer serve you. What are you learning from your gut? How does your digestion inform you and your process? Intuition sharpens now and assimilation sets in. Gemini: The heart returns to a roaring and sharp momentum that can offer you insights into your depths, needs and healing process. You may gain insights with career, friendships, connections, siblings and relationships. Some of these insights may bring discomfort, anger and a desire for change so listen carefully to your internal barometer. What is the passion in your heart telling you about your needs and wants? Cancer: Courage and creativity have been re-ignited and will go from a flicker to a flame for you in the coming weeks. What is percolating within? What desires will gain momentum? What stormy weather can you harness for new direction? Create. Cultivate. Network with new and old resources alike. How does this inform what you need and want? Leo: Finding your voice (again) is a theme that makes a resurgence now that Mars moves back to your second house. Find you voice. Courageously navigate your heart space, emotions and healing tools. Watch what you eat; avoid excess sweets, alcohol, spicy and heavy foods. Virgo: A sense of sharpness returns as Mars re-enters your first house this week. Sharpness of mind, emotions, heart, and needs brings up relationship concerns, memories and experiences from the past for re-evaluation. Relationships may be offering discomfort and pushing you towards retreat mode. Your gut has ample resources for you. Dance from your belly, draw from your belly and let it inform your actions. Libra: Tempestuous spring storms have turned to brooding gray clouds. Take this time to pause, be still with what is and use it as momentum to create what you want and how you want it. There is digestion of old patterns and "self" stuff right now which is connected to relationships. Process your emotions properly; don't stuff them. For you, art and heart are excellent resources. Scorpio: Be bold with your learning and growth. Listen to intention. Push gently for growth and friendships. Work on relationships with siblings and friends. Find a new sense of creativity with work, play and heart space. Sift through the rubble of your life and seek ways to speak up and share your Self. Re-imagine your year ahead. Plant seeds. Make Goals. Take small action steps that have potent meaning. Sagittarius: Mental courage comes from doing things differently and out of the ordinary. Think outside of your boxes and set your self free. Heart and emotions can offer insight and awareness as well as gains with friends and business. Make progress with work, speak eloquently and seek comfort and support. Creativity will assist you and take you far right now. Think like an artist. Don't over do it on the sweets and alcohol. Capricorn: Creativity and spring go hand in hand. Envision new options, possibilities and endeavors. Set career and monetary goals and then work backwards. What has to be done now to get you there? Network, branch out, meet new people. Be bold and courageous. Aquarius: Upgrade your awareness; listen and learn. Friendships and relationships give you a chance to re-evaluate what your needs are. Set appropriate boundaries and let go of who and what is not serving you on a high level. Think of ways to teach, advise, gain new knowledge and take sacred alone time. Pisces: Clean up mode continues in your life, especially around relationships in the coming weeks. Meditation and time alone offers you new ideas, creativity, visions and possibilities for your life and well being as well as with relationships and co-creation. Expand your view and career trajectory with knowledge, new skills and by listening intently to your intuition. Moon is waning (Krishna Paksha) and transits Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and into Sagittarius this week.
For a jyotish Moon-centered approach to your day, follow my daily Moon Mind posts via Face Book. Libra (and the planets in and connected to Libra) continues to demand our attention. Rahu, Retrograde Mars and Retrograde Saturn are all there, receiving drishti from Jupiter and Ketu. This puts three planets in backward motion in Libra. Remember that Libra is Saturn's place of exaltation, however, it is retrograde currently, which makes it debilitated. Saturn is also sandhi and at the edge of Libra (near Scorpio) which weakens it, turns it more inward, slows it down, and requests that we pause, listen and be more quiet. Read more about Saturn's dance through Libra. Mars is also nearing the edge of Libra this week, but edging back towards Virgo. Mars weakens as it goes sandhi this week and may cause "fuzzy brain" syndrome for us. Expect slower reaction times right now with communication, action steps and plans. Relationships delays and all things Venus require patience and pause as well. Read more about Mars and his movements here. We are nearing the spring sandhi "gap"- expressed during the time of Navaratri where the veil is thin and we are asked to pause, be still and sync more closely with the Divine Mothers, Nature and her wisdom. The portal is opening now. Let the slowing take over and resist the urge to force actions, outcomes and agendas. Use surrender as your modus operandi. Mercury moves from Dhanishta nakshatra to Satabisha on 3.18. He moves from a Mars ruled nakshatra to a Rahu ruled nakshatra on Tuesday (the day of Mars). Satabisha is ruled by Varuna who is connected to "unseen obstacles" as well as health calamities, judgement, punishment and the rules created by the Gods. His main objective is to keep us connected to the Laws of Nature. Mercury is mind, intelligence, communication, finances, marketing and such, so be aware of Varuna's connection to these affairs in the coming week and a half. This nakshatra change for Mercury is in keeping with the need for surrender, the continued focus on Libra (it's ruled by Rahu which is transiting Libra) and a reminder not to force actions. We may feel as though we "aren't doing enough" or need to force our hustle when things don't seem to be coming together very well. As things fall apart and crumble at this time, remember that it is a time of dismantling what is not working in your best interest. As we clear the decks, we make space for what is in fact more ideal in the long run. The coming week will show us where we need to let go. Are you continuing to cling? Force? Push? Look for your own resistance and remind your Self to surrender. Avoid over working right now. Keep mental health at the forefront. Spring "officially" begins here in the Northern hemisphere on the 20th as we celebrate the spring equinox. This coincides with Holi which happened on the 16th and 17th here in the US and leading us into Vasant Navaratri on the 31st. Use this time to plant your seed of desire for the coming year. How will your garden grow? For increased awareness, utilize my jyotish inspired Body-centered Expressive Art Therapy articles. Each week I post a new Creative Engagement Activity to help inspire your own unique creative process, Self-tracking, and to enrich your cultivation of presence. This week, we are planting gardens. I still have some sessions available for April. *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: This is not your time to shine. A better use of your energy is to rest and restore while Sun is in your 12th house. Take time for meditation, relaxation and rejuvenation. Re-examine relationships and what is needed to make them more doable, lasting and comfortable. The same goes for children, education and romance. Don't push, just surrender. Taurus: Communication seems to be a valid use of your efforts right now. How are you connecting? Who are you communing with? Why are you reaching out? Find a sense of purpose with your communications and upgrade your networking skills. This is more than speech. Commerce, intuition, writing, singing and the healing arts are involved as well. Heal and be healed. Start with your gut. Gemini: Creative energy soars, but not in familiar ways. You may be feeling confused about the messages coming to you, unless you are taking time to pause and listen. Intelligence, knowledge and learning are all coming at you but in very unusual and different ways. Children, romance and passion may feel off. Remember that this is not a time of pushing, but of letting go and surrender. Let go of the gas and the brakes and see if you can catch some air time. Cancer: Heart and emotions may feel all over the place. Home, land, and issues with your mother and father may feel overwhelming. Same old issues resurfacing? Confusion about where to go next? Leading with your heart and feeling vulnerable? Let the transformations have their way with you. Continue to surrender and let go of what you are clinging to. Leo: You may be feeling mixed messages with your action steps. Stop or go? Yes or no? As much attention as your third house of action and courage has been getting lately, you should be learning a few things about how to balance your efforts more effectively. Work backwards. Pause more. Listen to the physical body's needs. Sun is still in your 12th house which is a time of transformation, solitude, rooting through the past, and a need for more silence and stillness. Find new ways to meditate and transcend. Art is a great place to start. Virgo: Communicating differently is highly important right now in order to create more effective relationships. Digest and assimilate words; yours and others. Use this information to upgrade your offerings to others and spark some career support. Communication of all sorts (intuitive, energetic, monetary, mentally, and with speech) can offer you a strong creative edge right now and bring a heightened awareness to you. What are you listening to? What is your response? Download an upgrade, and rewire your hard drive. Libra: Feeling pulled in multiple directions simultaneously? Remember that less is more right now. You are digesting some very old pieces of life. These experiences can bring a heightened sense of awareness right now which may make you feel extra emotional. Consider this a "cleaning house", a "spring cleaning" of sorts, in order to move you forward on your Path more effectively. Let the purging begin: from inside out. Scorpio: This is a time of endings and losses. A time of cutting and chopping life to bits and pieces that feel more bite sized, digestible. Little pieces are easier to burn, compost, shred, let the wind carry off with its wings. It's also easier for us to hold onto the most important scraps, put them into our satchels, pack them up and ride off into the sunset with less baggage. What pieces are you keeping with you in your life? What pieces are you letting go? Don't look back. Surrender them to the wind. Sagittarius: You may be offered a chance to revisit some old gains, relationships and experiences. Weigh and measure the options before jumping in with two feet. Make sure it's not your own flattery that is saying yes. Remember, your physical, mental and emotional bodies need to be supported in order for the answer to be yes to any new projects or endeavors. Create, communicate, sing, and expand your intelligence right now. Think outside the old boxes in order to upgrade your relationships, career, and romances. Capricorn: You may be feeling wildly creative with a renewed sense of career vigor. But before you start amping your Self and your efforts back to 200%, remember that you are still in a time of grande change in directions. Your career is asking you to re-visit some of your old efforts and re-imagine them. Right now, slow and steady will help you win the long term race. Even if you feel like pushing, stop your Self. There will be plenty of time for your Capricorn ways; now is not one of them. Put your energy into working smarter not harder. Aquarius: Mental acuity or mental cravings? Mind control or mind taming? You are in a phase of Mercurial communication that can afford you some new, powerful, personal growth. Intuition, intelligence, speech and heightened creativity abound. But don't look for the old ways to bring new responses. You are stepping into uncharted territory so embrace the change and look for innovation. Pisces: It may appear to others that you are glowing. Perhaps the transformation you have been going through has given you a new golden hue. Enjoy your luster, but the inner work is far from complete. In fact, you are still in the thick of a rich purging of old goo. Start chipping away at the hardened chunks still clinging to your innards. Upgrade your tool kit for maximum shifts to take place and more mental/emotional support. Hint: you will be looking in very different places for this support. Slow, gentle and conscious are the themes for this week's somatic awareness. Use these words to prompt your movement exploration. Focus on spine (flexibility and support) as well as pelvis (creativity, receiving and vulnerability). Notice where these two connect, support each other and provide mobility.
As Vasant Navaratri approaches, as well as the thick of spring, it is an ideal time to plant our seeds- literally and metaphorically. Intentions are powerful things, especially when we put some action behind them. Come to your drawing pad. Using the experience from your movement exploration, draw your garden in full bloom. What textures, colors and shapes are present? What images are alive? What are you cultivating and growing? What seeds did you plant? This garden allows us to work backwards so to speak. Look at your garden in full bloom. What are the pieces alive in your garden and your life as you look at it? What desires have blossomed and what efforts have come to fruition? Write them down. Write down the desires that are in bloom, the actions that are alive and visible in your garden. Then put some thought into what has to happen in order for the full blooms of summer to take place. What action steps need to take place before you bloom. What seeds must be planted in other words. There may be multiple seeds that have to be planted, what are they? Use your garden as a visual map and a reminder of what is coming; what is growing within you. The beauty of this garden is that only through time, nurturing, and letting go of the outcome, can we truly enjoy this cultivation process. |
