This Week's Intention: Use your inner wisdom and heart's desire to move towards your truth. Awaken, transform, heal, repeat. The solar eclipse of last week ushers in a waxing Moon and multiple planetary changes for the days to come. It's a very exciting week for the transits, with Mars and Sun both changing signs and Mercury going retrograde. These changes bring a separation between the tight conjunction of Mars and Venus, while Sun leaves its own sign for his enemy's sign, Virgo. We are now in a delicate two week period between eclipses that lasts until the total lunar eclipse and full Moon on September 27th. The gap between eclipses is a sacred time where we must be diligent with spiritual matters and notice the messages that arrive. Traditionally, it is not a time to start new ventures or take daring or dangerous actions. It is however a time to reflect, turn inward and work consciously with our shadow parts. After all, an eclipse is showing us the shadow on our Sun or Moon qualities quite directly. Join me for a *free* Dharma Awakening class. Monday begins with Moon transiting Virgo and Hasta nakshatra, tightly conjunct Mercury as well as Rahu. Ruling deity, Savitr, brings his guiding light and awakenings today. Allow in the light, new realizations and potent connections through thinking and feeling. With Moon, Mercury and Rahu dancing so closely today, the battle between thinking and feeling may be strong. Allow in the feelings of goodness, prosperity and purpose. How can you find balance between the inner forces of mind and emotions? Let the light come in and bring the dawn. It's a new dawn, it's a new day. What are you creating? Mars is at the edge of Cancer in deep sandhi. He's leaving the watery sign of feelings and jumping into the fiery, passionate sign of Leo. Be a warrior of the heart right now and prepare to leap into your passions feet first in the coming cycle. Day of Mars, Tuesday, brings Moon shifting into a Mars ruled nakshatra, Chitra, late morning. This constellation is Vishvakarma's domain, the celestial architect. He loves powerful action, creativity and alignment with the cosmos. He's an artist and craftsman and he supports these endeavors as well as building and planning. Take intentional action steps today that align with your higher purpose, path and creativity. At 08:22 on Tuesday September 15th, Mars makes the leap officially into Leo, joining Jupiter and a sandhi Sun here. All receive drishti from Saturn's stern and focused stare. Mars enjoys the sign Leo and its ruling planet Sun, for their fiery, passionate ways, as well as the great teacher and wisdom giver, Jupiter. Saturn and Mars, however oppose each other energetically. Mars is fast while Saturn is extremely slow. Take this advice into the coming cycle as there will be a desire to push, force and rush, while Saturn will insist on slow, methodical steps for greater balance. If you feel frustrations with your desires, action steps, relationships and creative passions, it is Saturn reminding you to slow down and be more intentional with your actions. He reminds us to stay aligned with the wisdom of Nature. Are you listening? Part of this Mars transit includes another tight conjunction between the warrior energy of Mars and the fluid, creative and feminine, Venus, once again. There is a brief separation as Mars shifts to Leo, but Venus joins him here two weeks later on September 30th. The fiery, passionate and focused warrior planet dances yet again with the creative, relationship planet, Venus, who shares the wisdom of feelings with us. This duo in Leo will increase passions on all levels of life- including creative, artistic, romantic, and relational. Power increases and our drive to achieve passionately, unfolds. Increasing this potent creative, life force energy, as well as a focus on romance and relationships, comes from the shift of Jupiter into Purvaphalguni nakshatra on September 14th. Jupiter's expansive qualities intensify the potency of the Phalguni constellation and their sensual expression. Bhaga brings resources, comforts and the ability to manifest desires into form. Be conscious about what you are creating in your life at this time. Increase your feelings of nourishment, happiness and joy, in order to create more of this in your life. Seek wisdom that brings inner harmony and open your heart to gratitude, passion and allow the romance of life to lift you up. Creativity takes courage, so use your creative powers very intentionally and courageoulsy at this time. Moon moves to Libra, late evening, leaving the influence of the other planets through conjunction or gaze. Allow in the emotional body space over the coming days. Sun is at the very edge of Leo, ready to step into Virgo. Keep your light burning by attending to your body and soul. As Wednesday arrives, Moon continues through Chitra until just before noon. Swati nakshatra gains magnification as Moon enters this nakshatra. Ruling deity Vayu brings swift change, powerful movement and strength. The mind and body will be the forces behind these changes. Are you grounded or lost in flight? Stay grounded and get embodied, rather than getting overpowered by the strong winds of Vayu. He brings change- whether small or large, as well as strength to move mountains. What needs to shift inside, so you can gain the power and strength you need to build your empire? Just before midnight on Wednesday, September 16th at 23: 26, Sun shifts into Virgo, joining Rahu and Mercury here. All receive drishti from Ketu, the re-structuring lightning bolt. Sun is not fond of Virgo and this can cause discomfort for our mind, strategies, connections and communication. His light wants to shine potently and powerfully, at maximum strength, yet Virgo is very specific, overly focused at times and too direct. This can cause mental burn, overwhelm and excess heat in the mental body so be vigilant at this time with your mind. Are you pushing too hard? Are you feeling taxed, overwhelmed or dissatisfied? Virgo's precision and the mental body, may be keeping you from nourishment. Allow in the feelings of light, awakening and new insights to encourage healing and greater support. This transit of Sun can be a powerful opportunity for awakenings, depending on where we put our efforts and energy. Great healing and inner light is possible, if we diligently look at our shadows and courageously attend to our inner struggles. The mind will be telling you one thing, but listen to the heart and its wisdom instead. Go for nourishment, go for healing old wounds, go for your inner gold this time. Join me for a *free* Dharma Awakening class. Discover your dharma and life path through the wisdom of jyotish, embodiment and art therapy. Join the List. Halfway through Thursday, day of the guru, Moon shifts into the final nakshatra of Libra, Vishaka. Often described as the "triumphant gateway", the symbol here is a decorated gateway, while Vishaka's translation is "the two branches". Vishaka gives us options, choices and thereby confusion at times. Do you go left or right? Say yes or no? As my guru Maharishi once said, in the market place, "you can choose salt or sugar." Ruling deity, Indragni, reminds us that every path requires support, collaboration and co-creation. Allow yourself to receive support in order to enhance your path. What choice do you make for your potent, powerful life today? Do you choose to honor your gifts, desires, passions and heart wisdom? Do you honor your feelings and their messages of truth? Step onto the path of nourishment, support and inner kindness. Say yes to the sugar and sweetness of your one, precious life. Mercury begins his 22 day retrograde motion at 11:07 on Thursday, the 17th, moving back through his favorite sign, Virgo. The conjunction of Mercury and Rahu during this cycle will effect individuals differently. For some, the confusion of Rahu will undermine the potency of Mercury being well positioned, intensified by Mercury's retrograde motion. Others will experience a massive upswing in finances, connections and creativity. Your ability to resource from your inner strength and power will determine your success during this extra long Virgo transit. What is your relationship with your shadow? Can you tame the beast, call it on its self-deprecation and consciously work with overcoming limiting beliefs? Success will come to those who take the dark and turn it into the light. Your biggest struggles are asking you to rise to the occasion. Turn struggle and challenge into gifts and awakening. This Mercury cycle is extra long and unusual. In many regards it is an offering with extra graces- if we choose to use them as such. Mercury usually makes fairly swift movements, yet his retrograde motion will prolong his dance through his favorite sign. He will retrograde on September 17th, then go direct on October 9th, and finally leave Virgo on the 28th of October. During this back and forth shuffle, he will move in and out of his most potent degree range and also slide in and out of his mulitrikona and own sign degrees. We get a smorgasbord of his support, struggles and potency. An exalted planet shares 100% of his energy, mulitrikona 75% and own sign 50%. Remember that once he retrogrades, at times he will be considered debilitated as he moves back through his exaltation degrees. (Exalted planets in retrograde motion are considered debilitated). This occurs from September 28th to October 9th to be exact. At this time he is closely conjunct Rahu and combust (burnt) from the Sun. Certainly a time to be very diligent with our mental body, our shadow work and our ego. Use this time for conscious self development work and spiritual practices. During this Mercury transit through Virgo, we will all need to pay special attention to our mental body, our imaginal body. Stories, thoughts, ideas and words will be extra strong and powerful as will our creativity and imagination. This is the part of our being that can create magic, or destroy us. Depending on Mercury's placement in your chart and your relationship with him, this could be an extra challenging cycle, or a powerful and creative game-changer. Being on top of your mental/emotional body dynamics will be vital. Today, September 17th, is Ganesh Chaturthi, celebrated birthday of the revered elephant god. The festivities continue for 10 days, ending on the 27th with the Purnima Moon. He is the son of Shiva and Parvati who removes obstacles and challenges on our path of awakening. On the physical body level, his head correlates to our brain and his trunk to our spinal column. These are essential body parts for transcendence and awakening. He is a reminder of spiritual practice, devotion and mental body vigilance- in order for awakening and our greatest obstacles to be removed from our path. Jai Ganesha!! Late morning on Friday, Moon arrives into its debilitation sign, Scorpio, joining planet of grief, Saturn. Mars and Ketu share their drishti as well. This combination contracts the otherwise joyful and harmonizing spirit of the Moon, while also bringing agitations, anger and frustrations to the surface. A certain depression may arrive in the coming days. The emotional body is reminding you to express, awaken and transform your feelings. Have you been closing off, repressing your power, passions and emotional body wisdom? Now is the time to get things moving. As Moon shifts into Anuradha late afternoon, friends, connections and comrades can be powerful allies of support. Let a trustworthy and nourishing relationship in for guidance and listening. Allow yourself to share and be witnessed for your struggles and sorrows. Use your physical body wisdom as a resource for harvesting your emotional body messages. Move, create, express, transform. Stay out of the fine details that limit your broad, expanded awareness. Join me for a *free* Dharma Awakening class. Discover your dharma and life path through the wisdom of jyotish, embodiment and art therapy. Join the List. Saturday continues Anuradha's themes of support and connection. Ruling deity, Mitra, allows success and deep connection to transpire. Are you allowing in the nourishing, supportive assistance? Let the gifts arrive and say yes! Early evening, Moon shifts to Indra's domain, Jyeshtha nakshatra. As king of the devas (gods), Indra is a master and powerful leader. Planetary ruler, Mercury, invites in mastery of the mind and senses. The opportunity for mental body healing comes with Jyestha, but through control and focused, aligned intention. Do you rule your mind or does it rule you? Sunday continues Indra's support and awareness. There is extra sensitivity within this nakshatra, but simultaneously great power. Find mastery with your senses and the illusions they bring. Commit to transforming negative thoughts into powerful, positive ones. Use the shadows and darkness of the mind to awaken you. How are your challenges keeping you in the dark? Let them lead you towards your gifts, your truth and potency. Mid evening, Moon jumps to Sagittarius. This can be a tricky gandanta for any planet- from water to fire. As Moon makes his leap, he arrives into Mula nakshatra, a challenging and tumultuous constellation ruled by the dark goddess herself, Nirrti. She brings calamity with her, as well as crisis, confusion and destruction of inner power. Her forces are meant to keep one from dharma, a path of truth, power and inner knowing. Her darkness can bring great misery, or great healing. The healing only arrives when we are willing to face our own darkness and use it as a means of transformation, change and awakening. Monday begins with the chaos of Nirrti so keep this in mind as you step into your day. Are you working with the challenges consciously or resisting them? Any force against the challenge will not be a good use of your efforts or energy. Instead, surrender, let go and allow release. Simplify and do less- in order to accomplish more. *All calculations given are Pacific Daylight Time. Join me for a *free* Dharma Awakening class. Moon is waning and empties this week. New Moon is on Wednesday early morning at 01:14 am CDT signifying the beginning of the fall Navaratri celebrations. This nine day festival honors the holy goddess trinity of Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. The festivities culminate on the 10th day (Vijayadashami) which honors Durga's defeat of the demon Mahishasura. The sacredness of this time period is explained more in my Navaratri article. You’re invited to participate in my 10 day Self Care Challenge as a way to honor this important passage into fall and winter. Join the FB Group here.
Monday, September 22nd Today’s Intention: Find nourishment in relating and co-creating. Moon transits Leo and moves into Purvaphalguni nakshatra at 01:47 am CDT. This enlivens Venus and Bhaga, the deity of love, relationship and creativity. Bhaga is an Aditya, one of the twelve gods who provide us with resources for this life experience. He dispenses wealth and happiness, luck and fortune, as well as blessings from our past incarnations. He presides over love and marriage and is associated with pleasure, sensuality and sexuality, thus relationships are his domain- mainly the spark of new and budding relationships. Today, create, connect and share. Work consciously on relating and co-creating. How can your relationships provide a sense of nourishment and support? Which ones soothe and support? Which ones feel toxic? Pay attention to your senses and what arrives through your interactions. Venus moves into the latter half of Phalguni, Uttara, at 04:58 am CDT. Shift into a role of connection and sharing over the next 10 days. Create, express, share and connect. Create and co-create and let your relationships be part of your expansion. Let your love shine! Not feeling it? What relationships need to be pruned and removed from your life in order to create more space for the more nourishing and supportive ones? What shifts and changes need to take place within your existing relationships in order for more nourishment? Take charge of your comfort and what supports and nourishes you. This is an ideal time to be conscious of your self care needs. As we move into the beginning of Navaratri on Wednesday, now is an essential time to be intentional with our needs. Be sure to join my 10 day Self Care Challenge via FB. Tuesday, September 23rd Today’s Intention: Get your shine on! From the inside out. Today is Fall Equinox for the Northern Hemisphere. It is also Mahalaya Amavasya (Pitri Paksha), the sacred celebration of honoring the ancestors who have passed and are no longer with us. Be sure to commemorate your loved ones who have passed by lighting a candle and saying a prayer in their honor, as well as through gratitude for their many gifts to you. Moon moves to Uttaraphalguni at 04:32 am CDT, joining Venus and Sun in this nakshatra as well. We get three levels of support from Aryaman today. He is also one of the twelve Adityas like Bhaga who rules the front half of Phalguni. Like Bhaga, Aryaman gives resources, but does so through sustenance- mainly health of the body and physical stamina and strength as a result. Additionally, he also nourishes through relationships, but does so in the ways that last. Not through sensuality and sexuality, but through time, perseverance and pleasing the ancestors. As Bhaga relates to the past and past karmas, Aryaman relates to the future and what is to come; as a result he is mostly concerned with long term outcomes and situations. Moon moves to Virgo at 11:10 am CDT, joining Sun and Rahu here. These planets receive drishti from Ketu seven houses away. Be precise with your actions and relations today. Step carefully, but get noticed. Share, connect and create through relationships today. Shine brightly- inside out! Feeling shadowed or extra inward? Moon is in the 15th tithe (Moon phase) today. It’s a time to be self reflective and tend to your inner needs. Plant your seeds of desire and make your intentions known. As we move into the beginning of Navaratri tomorrow, now is an essential time to be intentional. Be sure to join my 10 day Self Care Challenge via FB. Venus is sandhi, at the edge of Leo right now. Be delicate with your relationships- both your relationship with others and with your self. Wednesday, September 24th Today’s Intention: Take an intentional pause and mark it with poignancy. Moon nears conjunction of the Sun as it becomes completely new in the wee hours of the morning. New Moon is at 01:14 am CDT in Uttaraphalguni nakshatra while Moon is in Virgo. The details of yesterday are pertinent for our coming waxing Moon cycle. The coming weeks are potent- and a poignant time for working with our long term sustainability. What steps do we need to take in order to insure sustainability and more lasting support and nourishment? What fruits are we hoping to harvest in the coming weeks and months? Our intentional action steps right now make or break the richness of our harvest. Aryaman is alive and well within us and around us- encouraging health, well being, as well as inner and outer sustenance- if we align with his offerings. Connect, co-create and use relationships intentionally in the coming weeks. Do your relationships nourish and inspire you? Or do they zap you and harm you? If you want potency and power, it will take potent and powerful actions to get different results. Sow the seeds you want right now and ask the ancestors for help with the process. Aryaman is aligned with the ancestors to insure that your lineage is well nourished and protected so make sure you ask for dharmic wisdom to help you on your journey, with choices and your action steps. Think in terms of aligning with long-term sustainability, not short term gratification. Aryaman will provide for you. Trust the process and ask for support. In addition to the New Moon, this marks the beginning of the Navaratri celebrations and the first day of three that honors Ma Durga. This is an especially potent and powerful time period, where we celebrate in the Vedic calendar, the holy trinity of goddesses: Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. The veil is thin right now between realms, and is an especially powerful time for being inward, cleansing, nourishing and meditating. If you haven’t joined my 10 day Self Care Challenge, you can do so here. Moon moves to Hasta nakshatra at 06:59 am CDT, activating Savitr and his shining light into our day. You may awaken with sparks today and find some new purpose for your actions. Allow a glimpse of awakening to inspire you through intelligence, ideas, new awareness and gratitude. Flourish through wisdom and knowledge and take time for pausing, listening and invoking your inner light with the Gayatri Mantra today. Since the Moon is passing through the middle of Sun and Rahu today, a sense of shadow can creep in as well. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, uncertain or overstimulated, be sure to use a 3 level check in for getting in touch with your felt senses. Use this inner harvesting process to get creative. Write, draw, express through your hands. Your Self Care Journal might just be the trick. Have you signed up for my 10 Day Self Care Challenge yet? Venus is sandhi, at the edge of Leo right now and hops into Virgo, its sign of debilitation at 21:14 CDT. During this 23 day transit, be delicate with your relationships- both your relationship with others and with your self. This transit re-iterates my new Moon details for the coming waxing cycle and our attention/intention to relationships of all kinds in our lives. What needs our focus in the coming weeks in regard to self care and putting our needs first? What details within your relationships needs extra TLC? How can you improve your inner nourishment and self care focus? What boundaries need to be re-established in order for your needs to get met? What re-structuring needs to take place within your relationships- personal and professional- in order for greater clarity and purpose? This is a time of getting present to your individual needs and what nourishes you. It is not a time to be using up your energy frivolously; though you may be noticing leaks more clearly at this time. Right now it’s all about the details. Let this be a resource for getting priorities and business in order. If it becomes unhelpful, then zoom out and get a bigger picture. Take a break or time out to re-center. This doesn’t have to be a time of discomfort and overwhelm; just get resource oriented. Need a reminder about self care? Be sure you follow along with my 10 day self care challenge and work intimately with your self care journal right now. Thursday, September 25th Today’s Intention: Step wisely and with purpose. Navaratri Day 2 and second day of the Durga celebrations. Have you joined my Navaratri 10 Day Self Care Challenge yet? Moon moves into Chitra nakshatra at 09:07 am CDT, joining Rahu here as well. Virgo is a full house right now with Moon, Sun, Rahu and Venus there now. Be aware that highs and lows may feel extreme- emotionally, mentally and physically. It is important to take care of health and wellness on all three levels of your being. Vishvakarma, the celestial architect, as well as Mars, play an important role in our experience today. He is a worker, the divine architect, and very product oriented. His extreme creativity, as well as action orientation (karma is a part of his name) reminds us to take potent action steps to align with our creative powers. What are you building in your life? For your life? Attend to your inner and outer needs today. As Moon passes over Rahu, don’t get lost in the mire of details and self critic. Instead, get action oriented. Take a step in the right direction today and focus on what is doable. Moon moves to Libra at 22:02 CDT, joining Mercury and exalted Saturn there. Need a reminder about self care? Be sure you follow along with my 10 day self care challenge and work intimately with your self care journal right now. Friday, September 26th Today’s Intention: Adjust your sails with intention and harness the power of the wind. Navaratri Day 3 and final day of the Durga celebrations. Have you joined my Navaratri 10 Day Self Care Challenge yet? Moon transits Libra with Mercury, and exalted Saturn, then moves into Swati nakshatra at 10:51 CDT. Both Vayu and Rahu enliven and the winds- both inner and outer- bring shifts and changes with them. The mental and emotional bodies may be in overdrive. Feeling overstimulated, excessively anxious? Not only is attention to your prana important today for calming the inner winds, but also attending to the messages of the mental and emotional bodies. Separating these two will bring greater clarity to their different messages and likely bring more awareness to what you need. Be sure to sign up for my online 3 Levels of Awareness Immersion in order to learn how to incorporate this technique into your self care practices. Saturday, September 27th Today’s Intention: Balance creates harmony. Navaratri Day 4 and the first day of the three day Lakshmi celebrations. Have you joined my Navaratri 10 Day Self Care Challenge yet? Sun jumps into Hasta nakshatra at 00:37 am CDT, offering greater insight and wisdom to us in the coming days. Tend to this flicker of light, the inner flame. Nurture it, nourish it and honor it with gentleness. Attend to this small flame with intention and recite Gayatri Mantra in the coming days as a way to cultivate your inner light and spark magic. Attend to your sensitivity with gentleness and compassion. Moon moves to Vishaka nakshatra at 12:10 CDT, enlivening Jupiter and Indragni- the dual god who attends to our sense of nourishment through alliance. Yet another opportunity to give presence to what, and who, we are aligned with in our lives. Indra and Agni remind us that two are often better than one- as long as they work in harmony and are aligned properly. Feeling pulled in too many directions? Overwhelm settling in today? Balance is key. Clear off your plate and prioritize. What are the essentials? Where are your self care needs on this list? Put your self first and then let the other pieces fall in place more naturally. Make sure physical movement is incorporated into your day. Get embodied! Sunday, September 28th Today's Intention: Zoom in and zoom out. Harmonize polarities. Navaratri Day 5 and the second day of the Lakshmi celebrations. Have you joined my Navaratri 10 Day Self Care Challenge yet? Moon has crossed over Saturn now and moves to the edge of Libra, jumping into its debilitation sign, Scorpio, at 06:51 am CDT. Moon joins Mars in Scorpio and our internal waters get charged. Expect an extra layer of sensitivity today and emotional body awareness. At 13:01 CDT, Moon moves into Anuradha nakshatra and Mitra provides increased awareness of fine detail, friendship and connection, as well as travel and adventure. Get into the details, but don't get lost in them! Feeling agitated or angered? Look for the underlying need and find solutions. My 3 Levels of Awareness Immersion is today! Use this workshop for navigating boundaries, inner and outer dynamics and embodiment. Sign up here. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. Moon moves through Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and into Sagittarius this week. Moon reaches its fullness on 4.15 at 2:41 CDT while in Libra. More details below as well as in my current planetary report + horoscopes for the waning Moon cycle. Monday, 4.14 Sun is now exalted in Aries, joining Ketu there as well. Sun is in weak degrees until Wednesday so try to get away with using less energy; don't push too hard. Moon finishes up its transit through Virgo today, crossing over Mars directly around noon (the hottest part of the day) and is in close degrees with him throughout the day. This can heat the emotions, create aggression and stir the Pitta. Watch your temper and emotions and if anger arrives, notice what boundaries you allowed to be crossed. Did you say yes, when you should have said no? Moon is in Hasta nakshatra the first part of the day which is ruled by Savitr. He grants us awakening, the dawning of awareness as well as increased creativity and healing potential through the hands. Be present to some stirring, some dawning within you today. What new understanding or insights arrive this morning? The Moon/Mars conjunction can also bring a deepened connection with the Divine Mother- notice where she gives her blessings. Use Gayatri Mantra to start your day. As Moon moves to Chitra at 12:10 CDT, the connection with Vishvakarma strengthens. He is the celestial architect, who helps our building and planning become actualized. He is especially connected to artisans and those wishing to expand their potential. This also marks Hanuman Jayanti, the celebration of Hanuman's birth. The festivities begin when the waxing Moon is at its fullest (15th tithi) and enters Chitra nakshatra during this particular season of the Vedic calendar. Hanuman is considered a Rudra (a god of intense strength and power) and overcame many obstacles and opponents (the rakshasa/demon Ravana and his army) out of love, devotion and service to Lord Raam and goddess Sita. May he serve as a reminder to us of what odds can be overcome, what power we each posses, and what love and devotion can accomplish. The lunar eclipse begins at 11:55 pm CDT as Moon reaches its fullness and crosses paths with the Sun. Tuesday, 4.15 Moon enters Libra just after midnight joining Rahu and retrograde Saturn there as well. It reaches its peak fullness at 2:41 am CDT while in Chitra nakshatra. The lunar eclipse reaches its maximum at 02:46am CDT and continues until 05:36 am CDT. With the direct gaze from Sun and Ketu in Aries, and Jupiter in Gemini, as well as an eclipse, this full Moon is one of intensity and a great collision of energies. It is a good time to evaluate where we are using sheer physical strength and stamina and where we are not effectively using beneficial mental strategy to help us achieve our long term goals and objectives. Become aware of how to do less, while maximizing your efforts. In other words, the mantra "less is more", is still pertinent to the day and to the weeks ahead. This is certainly a time of pruning and cutting out all that is unnecessary. More on the meaning of this full Moon for the coming waning cycle in my planetary report. Moon crosses directly over Rahu late morning. Moon moves to Swati nakshatra at 12:37 pm CDT (ending the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations) which is ruled by the planet Rahu and Vayu, the wind god. The mind and body will likely be clouded today so allow extra time for going about your day. Be careful while driving and traveling today especially. The lunar eclipse marks a delicate two week period until the solar eclipse on the 29th. In the Vedic tradition, this is not a time to take risks, start new endeavors, or to over-exert. It is a time, however, of turning inward, of meditation and contemplation, and a time to take extra care of the physical body with good routine etc. Wednesday, 4.16 Moon moves to Vishaka nakshatra at 12:35 pm CDT ruled by the dual natured god, Indragni and the planet Jupiter. Seek alliance and support today. Notice where you can make changes in your life to create greater assistance for your Self and get things done more efficiently. Are you forgetting to ask for what you need? Are you pushing too hard? Where are you resisting change? As Moon nears Saturn, it is extremely important and valuable to listen to our bodies for subtle insights. What messages is the body giving you? Thursday, 4.17 Moon finishes up its transit through Libra after crossing directly over retrograde Saturn in the wee hours of the morning, then moves to Scorpio at 6:17 am CDT. Moon is considered debilitated in Scorpio which makes the Moon extra sensitive. This sensitivity can be helpful for intuition and a refined awareness, however, it must be handled with care. As Moon moves into Anuradha nakshatra at 12:08 pm CDT, this sensitivity heightens, especially for the physical body and the mind/body connection. Stamina may be lower, so find ways to self care and treat the physical and mental bodies with TLC. The tendency, however, may be to do the opposite. Avoid getting lost in the details, try to zoom out and get a bigger picture if necessary. Reach out to friends and alliances for support and comfort. Work with the theme "giving and receiving." Friday, 4.18 Moon moves to Jyeshta nakshatra just before noon at 11:21 am CDT just as Sun nears exact conjunction with Ketu. The mind and body may be extra sensitive today so take this into consideration if irritations arise. With Indra and Mercury ruling this nakshatra, and the current planetary transits, it is an excellent time for self tracking. Likely the irritations in the mind will be a result of some physical need not being met. Can you trace the issue back to the need? Can you find a healthy way to get your need met? It may require self care strategies, alone time, and restructuring previous plans. You may also need to shift your relationships around. Do what it takes to preserve your mental comfort and physical support. Venus moves into Purvabhadra nakshatra today. We may notice an increase in relationship and financial support as a result over the next 12 days, while using a one pointed focus and agenda. This can also be a time of purification and change as well; allow the change, don't resist it. Saturday, 4.19 Moon moves to Sagittarius and into Mula nakshatra at 10:17 am CDT and receives direct drishti/gaze from Jupiter seven houses away in Gemini, retrograde Saturn in Libra, as well as retrograde Mars in Virgo. Mula is also a challenging nakshatra that often is responsible for a sense of chaos and dishevelment. Don't plan to be anywhere on time today- or expect to arrive in an orderly fashion. Best use of time and energy is with restorative measures for the mental, emotional and physical bodies. The rulers of Mula are Ketu and Nirrti (the dark goddess married to adharma- against dharma). She brings uprooting, change and removals, but the end results can be greater overall health and wellness. With Ketu and Sun in close degrees today and in Ashwini nakshatra respectively, this is a great day to pay special attention to the physical body, to use healing remedies and to put attention on self care regimens. Additionally, Mercury is weak in degrees in its sign of debilitation which requires careful navigation of the mental body, communication and decision making. Use your inner wisdom and go for silence today. Sunday, 4.20 Mercury moves to Aries at 6:56 am CDT, joining exalted Sun and Ketu there as well. Moon moves to PurvAshada nakshatra at 9:01 CDT. Apas the water goddess rules the day. Allow flow to happen. Where are you stopping fluidity in your life? Where is the resistance to movement, change, growth and new possibilities? Focus your efforts and attention on abundance, life giving support and your own vitality today. Right now it is all about self care. Moon Mind {for the next 3 days}
03.19 Moon has entered Libra (the center of our attention for the past many months) and transits Swati Nakshatra. Ruled by Vayu, the wind god, there is movement, strength and change to be harnessed today. As Rahu has now moved to Chitra nakshatra where sandhi/retrograde Mars is transiting, the desires to build, gain momentum and create, strengthen. An increased push for financial support heightens as well as the mental vigor required to "get the job done". With debilitated Saturn sandhi right now at the edge of Libra, this is not the time to push the physical body. It's a time of contemplation and silence as dictated by the nearing of Navaratri. (See this week's transit report for more details.) Let your creativity be sparked. Let it flow. Softly and quietly plant your seeds. Let the Universe know your intentions. It is enough. You are enough. 03.20 Moon moves to Vishaka at 5:57 am CDT. Joining sandhi Saturn there. Remember that Saturn is in its sign of exaltation (Libra) but since it is currently retrograde, it is considered debilitated (uccha banga). This has effects on the physical body and all things represented by Saturn. We need to slow down and turn inward. Meditation, yoga and the mandates of Vishaka and Indragni request attention to our eating/nourishment habits. We may also notice a slowing of commerce, trade, relationships both personal and work. Clean up, clear out, let go of the old, outworn bits and pieces hanging on in your life. The barnacles. Let them go. Use today to ask for what you really want. 03.21 Moon enters Scorpio at 00:00 CDT, its place of debilitation. This can be a highly receptive location for the Moon, however. Moon moves to Anuradha nakshatra at 05:58 am CDT, ruled by Mitra and the planet Saturn while also being in a sign of Mars (Scorpio). Connect today. With emotions. With friends. With details that need attention and intention. The day will request a slow, introspective approach, so find a way to accomplish and create without forcing or taxing the body/mind. Moon is waning (Krishna Paksha) and transits Leo, Virgo, Libra and into Scorpio (its sign of debilitation) this week. Moon is debilitated from the 25th until mid day on the 27th. Use this time to listen to your intuition and subtle messages.
For a jyotish Moon-centered approach to your day, follow my daily Moon Mind posts via Face Book. Sun moves to Sravana nakshatra on 1.23. Ruled by Vishnu. This placement should bring movement towards dharma and knowledge. We must listen carefully however and make sure to act on intuitive guidance here in order to maximize the benefits. Wednesday, 1.22, Mercury moves to Dhanishta nakshatra, ruled by the Vasudevas- sources of illumination and prosperity. At the end of the week, Mercury moves to Aquarius- on 1.26 at 12:03 pm CST. Mercury will receive drishti from both Rahu and Jupiter in a sign ruled by Saturn. Mercury is weak in degrees (sandhi) from the 25th through the 28th. Some level of expansion, worldly gains and increased business and commerce are possible in the coming weeks. But temper obsessive compulsive behaviors, greed, cravings and excesses as well as negative thought patterns. Temper your asuras in other words. Late in the week and into early next week, mental acuity is less, so avoid important decisions at this time. If you have been uncertain about seeking guidance and support for the coming year, I urge you to reach out and get help refining your vision for 2014. Intention is potent! It is a big year with multiple {major} planetary changes. We will experience the changes of Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu, Saturn and unusual movements of Mars all in the next eleven months. Big changes are in store for each of us! Feeling uncertain about your action steps? What needs to change in order for growth? What kind of support you need? Schedule a yearly progression with me in order to make your New Year a truly transformational year. Utilize my jyoti/creative arts activities as a healing & awareness tool for your week. This week's activity has to do with creating a sense of fullness using mandalas. *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: Right now your career is teaching you about "best practice" but perhaps the lessons are coming in the form of "what not to do" from your work relationships. Relationships in general continue to prove insightful and a source of growth. Learning from past relationships is a theme right now and may provide you with a window into what no longer serves you. Cut out whoever and whatever is not serving your higher purpose, higher being. There's no time like the present to purge and let go. Taurus: If you are paying close attention, you may be noticing your deepest vulnerabilities are providing an opportunity to teach you about strength, resiliency and power. Relationships, friendships and wealth will provide the biggest source of insight and information so watch your responses and reactions for clues. Digestion and what you ingest are still central themes. What are you putting into your body? What are you ingesting from environment and relations? The release will be assisted with meditation and surrender. Gemini: Head clearing and heart clearing continue by way of your digestion. There's a much needed urge to purge the old and outworn; time well spent. Include old relationships, emotional habits, and self esteem struggles in your rummage pile. Sun is still in your 8th house- giving you an opportunity to pause, re-collect and re-connect with your Self in more meaningful ways through transformation and metamorphosis. Meditation is time well spent and will help you get your head on straight(er). Cancer: Pay attention to your relationships at this time. Are they healing or hurting you? Digging up your bad habits? The asuras are out to play and you might get snared in their traps. The tussle between positivity and negativity will be waltzing between your mind and heart but don't be afraid to take action steps- even if you take a stumble. In the dance of life, it's all just practice. Avoid over-consumption: of spending, of drinking and of sweets. Listen to the pitter patter of your heart if you feel out of step; trust your own rhythm. Leo: Friendships are returning with a new sense of awareness and intuitive insight. What new pieces are present now? Take a role of listening and presence rather than healer and therapist with personal relationships. Is it hard for you to step out of the "power role" of giving? Mind and digestion are running a bit hot right now. Avoid spicey, fermented and overly rajasic foods in order to soothe your heart burn. Eating excessive sweets and alcohol won't suppress the feelings either. Now is a good time to take a look at your need to be in control. Virgo: Head is hot and heart is beating faster. What is your new rhythm and pulse? Your heart dance? You are dancing backwards right now, re-creating your set point of desire and what is possible. Keep the visions alive. Keep the head and heart in a passionate tango. Sing and stomp. Howl and tip toe. Create your dreams and bring them into your reality. From inner to outer. Find the right connections, resources and relationships to support you and don't look back. Libra: Take courageous leaps. Create your new life and relationships by cutting up the old haunts, memories and demons into tiny pieces. Re-arrange them and create a collage that suits your heart's desires, dreams and inner guidance. You have the chance to change your life, to re-create it- from the inside out. Art is a potent medicine and it's just what the doctor ordered. Make time for your dreams. Scorpio: It takes courage to take a new path, to carve out a new way of doing and being. You're in the midst of a growth spurt where you are able to expand your vision of what is possible and align more closely with your dreams and goals. It comes with effort and building on your past resources but you are up for the challenge and the transformation. Remember to take a pause late this week and resource within. Meditation, self care rituals and nourishing foods are time well spent. Mind your mouth. Sagittarius: If anyone should be learning to waltz right now, it is you. You already know the steps- and have done them before- but likely you are getting a new twist on them. Use fresh eyes and fresh feet to take your triple steps. Don't let your fumbles stop your momentum and remember to look up- not down at your feet. Momentum and follow through may be your biggest obstacles. Just remember in the dance of life, it's one step at a time and all big journeys begin with a single step. Capricorn: Vayu (the wind god) continues to blow changes and uncertainty into your career and finances but something has strengthened your resolve and purpose. Trust your core as you retrace steps, search and excavate into your depths, past creativity and relationships. You can put all these pieces together and create a beautiful new collage; a map for moving forward. Don't underestimate your tenacity and your creative resolve. Let your passion out of its cage. Aquarius: Sitting in the belly of the beast, look around you and take notes. Sitting at the ashram, look around you and take notes. Compare. Contrast. What inspires you to keep going? To persevere? Who and what fills you with gladness and makes your heart sing? Listen to these messages and look at your notes. They are the words of the Universe pushing you towards your dharma. Pisces: Expansion in reverse seems to be the theme right now. Perhaps some of your old efforts and connections are finally paying off- but likely your efforts and gains are coming with a few rough patches and frustrations. What are you learning from the irks and irritations? Check in with your power source. Who and what provides you with a sense of power? Anger provides much power. If you can harness it and use a bit of alchemy, you will come out ahead. But you'll need to thwart what's coming at you. This week provides you with some practice. |
