Monday, September 8th Today's Intention: Connect with your inner waters- now full and expanded. Attend to your swelling tides and nourish your self through right action. Listen to your emotional body wisdom. Moon transits Aquarius and Satabisha nakshatra. Here in Aquarius, Moon receives drishti (gaze) from Venus and Sun in Leo and also from Mars in Scorpio. Ruled by Varuna, the guardian of universal law, Satabisha is connected to unseen (invisible) obstacles and punishment of wrongs. It is through Rahu that these "wrongs" are found. Aquarius however is ruled by Saturn and Rahu so there is a dualism here. And though Varuna is considered an Aditya (one who provides sustenance and support), he does so in a very Saturn-like way which may feel harsh at times. Today, follow the rules of Saturn and attend to your health and wellness. Let the waters within you flow and align with the Laws of Nature. Keep things simple, attend to self care and be mindful of your health. If you are feeling overwhelmed, do a three level check in and try to attend to your underlying needs for support, comfort and nourishment. Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra at 17:02 CDT. Full Moon is in Aquarius and Purvabhadrapada nakshatra on September 8th at 20:38 CDT. The feeling you receive from the Moon may be both depth and pressure as well as increased creativity, curiosity and innovation at this time. Aquarius is ruled by Saturn and Rahu which can bring a dualism, a push and pull, as well as polarities. This full Moon brings with it both a desire and a need to attend to our shadows, our haunts and our illusions. The coming waning cycle will be just that- an opportunity for us to face our demons and our challenges with new insights, possibilities as well as hope. This work may directly and indirectly connect to our lineage matters and the pieces that were forcing your attention/intention over the past waxing Moon cycle. Be attentive to the matters of emotion and heart and look for symbols and messages that cross your path. Read more about the wisdom of the Full Moon and how to work with the coming waning Moon cycle. Tuesday, September 9th Today's Intention: Find steadiness through flow. Go to your depths and linger. Swim with the currents- not against them. Moon transits Purvabhadrapada nakshatra until mid afternoon. Apply the wisdom of Ajaikapada to your day. Take slow intentional steps. Honor your path, your dance of life. Dance, walk, and honor your feet. Slow and steady steps will provide balance and awareness as you move forward. Moon moves into Pisces at 08:59 am CDT, joining Ketu here. Both receive drishti from Rahu and exalted Mercury in Virgo, as well as exalted Jupiter in Cancer. The inner tides are high right now because the Moon is still very full. As Moon moves into the water sign, Pisces, expect some emotional flooding. Let your inner waters move and move you. Are you listening to what your emotions are telling you? Be attentive to the needs under the tears and inner pressure. At 14:20 CDT, Moon moves into the latter half of the funeral cot, Uttarabhadrapada, ruled by Ahirbudhnya. This serpent deity rules the depths, our mystical realms within. As a Rudra, great strength is available through Ahirbudhnya as well as the removal of misfortune and calamity. Today is a great day to see your depths, touch your limits, but move more gently into them. Surrender to your own flow and rhythms. Trust the cycles to move you naturally- without force. Mars moves to Anuradha nakshatra at 18:03 CDT and Mitra enlivens his dance through Scorpio. Friends, details, connections, as well as movement and travel get activated now. Doorways that were previously closed may be opening now. Connect with the right people in order for greater successes. Expand your horizons, reach for your depths, befriend your critic and ask for the support you need to thrive. This is possible with your diligent action steps! Wednesday, September 10th Today's Intention: Be gentle with your mind, body and emotions today. Extra self care and TLC are essential for tending to your sensitivity and receptivity. Moon moves closer to Ketu today and enters Revati nakshatra at 12:00 CDT. Revati is ruled by Pushan, a nourishing and supportive deity who offers support and prosperity for our paths. Ask him for protection on your journey and he will grant you nourishment. When making an offering to him, make sure it does not need to be chewed; he loves milk and porridge. Inner tides are high, the Moon is in a water sign and nearing Ketu, the planet of restructuring. Ketu and Moon bring increased sensitivity, which may be felt through agitation, anger and frustration, resulting in sudden tears. Touch in with your inner waters and your emotional body. A three level check in is essential periodically today. Connect with your emotional body directly and ask it what it needs. Find gentle ways to offer yourself some loving care. Take alone time if necessary and recharge with meditation, a warm bath or some creative harvesting. Use my Full Moon Creative Ritual for insights. Thursday, September 11th Today's Intention: Make self care your top priority today and fill your cup of inner strength. Do at least one thing to nourish your mental body, emotional body and physical body today. As Moon conjuncts with Ketu exactly at 04:46 am CDT, yesterday's suggestions for extra self care and being mindful of sensitivity increase for today- even as Moon begins to separate from the south node. Continuing through Revati nakshatra until 10:11 am CDT, Moon then jumps into Aries and Ashwini nakshatra. This is a tricky junction point (gandanta) in between water (Pisces) and fire (Aries). It's also the movement of Moon into a symbolically hidden realm (12th house matters and Pisces) into the most visible sign of the chart, 1st house and Aries. Be aware that there could be a dramatic shift internally and externally as the Moon shifts- especially because the Moon will be receiving direct gaze from exalted Saturn once in Aries. Ashwini is ruled by Ketu and the Ashwini-Kumara twins, who provide healing and rejuvenation through the healing arts. Strong like a horse, the twins, can provide physical strength and power to us if we use their tools for healing. The arts, music, Ayurveda and rasayana treatments are all part of their tool kit. Today, rejuvenation and self care can go to a deeper level for lasting nourishment and support. Attend to your inner and outer needs diligently today. Let the strength of the Asvini twins help you go the distance. Venus moves into Purvaphalguni nakshatra at 11:16 am CDT. With Sun here as well, we get double the potency from this fertile constellation. Creativity is heightened, as Bhaga offers us fortune and generous opportunities for wealth and prosperity. Increase your flow and passion with arts, dancing, music and creativity right now. Venus is chasing the Sun through the sky these days which is causing our creative waters to increase their passion with the arts, relationships and our sense of self. Fortunately, Sun and Venus are staying about 10 degrees apart for now which keeps the creativity high, without it getting scorched. Use all this extra Venus for greatness. Friday, September 12th Today's Intention: Use art and creativity to transform and transcend. Let go and heal. Multiple levels of Venus are enlivened today! It's Friday, day of Venus, and Sun and Venus are now both in Purvaphalguni nakshatra- ruled by Venus. To add a bit more Venus to the day, the Moon moves into Bharani nakshatra at 09:00 am CDT, also ruled by Venus. Bharani is ruled by Yama, lord of death and king of dharma. He weighs our karmas at the end of our lives and directs our transition into the afterlife. He connects to self control, restraint and morality. Working with Durga can be helpful to overcome the obstacles of Bharani and to help us transform our challenges into learning and growth. Bharani days give us opportunities for "deaths" and transformational experiences. Today, create, share, flow, connect, take strong action steps and move your self today! Get physical and embodied. Don't be surprised by tears, intense emotions, but do work with them consciously. Be willing to navigate the dance between mental, emotional and physical bodies. Have you done a three level check in? Take your harvesting into movement and creative exploration. Get your paints out and explore your emotions. Use water color to work with Venus directly. Saturday, September 13th Today's Intention: Clean and clarify from the inside out. Stoke your inner flames gently. Moon moves into Krittika nakshatra at 08:34 am CDT, enlivening the Sun and Agni on this day of Saturn. While Moon is still transiting Aries, it receives drishti from Saturn which increases sensitivity in our emotional body. It also activates the need for greater embodiment and physical body movement in order to process our emotions more directly. As Agni is the fire of life and responsible for transformations and turning food into our life nourishment, he is an important part of our ability to "digest" life, our experiences and our environment. Tend to your inner flames today and stoke them gently. Fire brings sudden change and cuts attachments so use today intentionally for clearing, cleaning and transforming. Sun moves into Uttaraphalguni at 09:11 am CDT, moving into the latter half of the Phalguni stars. Aryaman offers sustenance, health and physical strength. Let him provide you with the fruits of your labors. Connect, create and relate. Ask the ancestors to guide you with your momentum and building prosperity in the coming weeks. Shine and attract with your light. Attend to and nourish your body. Moon jumps into Taurus at 14:35 CDT and exalts in its position of full expansion. Here, Moon receives drishti from Mars directly and Rahu. This adds a certain intensity to the Moon's experience. Watch for heat, aggression, intense inner flames. You may feel your inner tides increase, expand and swell or extra steam being created! Work directly with your emotions and inner waters and cultivate presence with their needs. Are you befriending your emotions or pushing past them- missing their messages? Sunday, September 14th Today's Intention: Unleash your wild creativity! Spread your wings and fling paint towards the stars. Let your breath move you. Listen to your innate greatness and use your gifts. Moon moves into Rohini nakshatra at 08:55 am CDT and is considered mulitrikona now as it transits through Taurus. Receiving drishti from Mars and Rahu increases the intensity of the Moon and felt senses right now. Are you attending to your needs or pushing past them? Rohini is an intensely creative star. Ruled by Lord Brahma and the Moon, this nakshatra provides palpable creative potential. It was Lord Brahma after all who created the universe from his navel. His wife is goddess Saraswati, the illustrious goddess of wisdom, art, music, and knowledge. Children are also connected to Rohini since creating them is the epitome of human's creative potential and a way to honor the ancestors. Create, move, share, and get inspired today! What brings you joy and harnesses your inner creativity? Dance and sing, draw and paint. Connect and co-create. Let your inner light shine and expand your horizons with your creative acts. Moon in Aquarius receives drishti from Venus and Sun in Leo and also from Mars in Scorpio.
Purvabhadrapada is ruled by Ajaikapada, which often refers to a form of Shiva standing one leg- Nataraja, or lord of the dance. This form of Shiva connects to cycles and rhythms and the continual dance of life, while also being a reminder of sacrifice, penance and tapas. The reminder here is balance- one foot grounding, supporting and rooting into the earth. The other foot lifted, poised for a step, ready for movement and change. As Aja is considered a Rudra, much strength is available here. Strength to persevere, push through obstacles, work with great challenges and cast off evil. Often Purvabhadrapada and Ajaikapada can balance what seems impossible, while maintaining a sense of center and one-pointedness (which is why doctors often have this nakshatra prevalent in their birth charts). The symbol is the front portion of a funeral cot and connects this nakshatra to purification and the losses that are necessary to understand realms beyond the material plane of existence. Use this waning cycle to bring presence to your path, your struggles and challenges. Honor yourself for your steps, your wisdom gained, and the many obstacles you have overcome. Work diligently to both honor your struggles and also reflect on the openings and progress also alive currently in your life. Look for possibilities, doors that are opening and steps you can take towards them. When you feel the burdens and the struggles overwhelming you, dance, walk, move. Work with themes of balance, steadiness, patience, one step at a time. Honor your feet and their wisdom. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Existentially speaking, perhaps the purpose of this crazy thing we call life is to some how, in some way, return home. Each one of us in our own way.
There are many practices, approaches, tools and resources available these days in order to help us with this process of returning. Re-turning. Turning in again and again. Admittedly, I am still working diligently on self-trust. Some times I don't trust myself to return to myself and my inner depths where silence and solitude reside. Where I feel safe and grounded, centered and secure. Sometimes I fear that I'll fall off the wagon and stay off the wagon forever and not be able to find my way back. I'll forget how to get back home or what home is. That I won't be able to land after traveling. As an extra sensitive type, I am extra porous. Sometimes I'm afraid that when I merge with the energy of the group, or a relationship, I won't know how to get back to myself. These concerns of self-trust and returning to ourselves also become extra important during times of chaos, trauma and crisis. Fragility lingers and often we don't trust our lives, let alone ourselves, to find a sense of stability, support and self-reliance. I need reminders regularly that I have tools that will get me home. That I know how to return. That I can trust myself to return. I have my favorite tools. My go-to trusty, no-fail resources that never seem to let me down. No matter the type of return I need. Here are the 13 steps I use for returning Home: 1. Pause. Taking moments of pause throughout my day. 2. Breathe. Being present to my breath and its wisdom. 3. Touch. A hand to my heart or belly reminds me I am here. 4. Embodiment. Dancing, moving and stretching. Getting in my body and feeling it enliven. 5. 3 Level Check-in. I feel checked in! 6. Sea salt bath + oil massage. Sea salt baths clear energy and abhyanga calms. Essential oils are, well, essential. 7. A cup of tea. In my favorite bone china. 8. Cooking. A simple meal of kitchari, greens and a good chipati gets me nourished. 9. Meditation and sleeping in. I need rest and time in my bed hiding under the sheets. 10. Walking in the woods with the trees. Only the trees will do. 11. Creativity. Painting and drawing. Getting color on my hands and getting messy. 12. Time. The sacredness of time and her wisdom never fails. 13. Trust. That I can, and I will, return. This list continues to grow, but many of these resources I have used for years without realizing their inherent value and their ability to help me land, ground and return to my sacred Self again and again. The more I resource, self care and fill my inner cup, the more stability and self trust is created. Each time I land and ground, I remind myself, "Ah yes, here I am again. Yes, I did it again!" And I can, and will, do it again. Acknowledging my steps, I gain trust in knowing that I can return home. That I know how to return and that it is possible. Over and over again. Creative Ritual: What is on your list? What steps do you use for returning home- to stability, self-trust, safety and security? How do you get back home- to your sacred center? As we move into the full Moon, notice what is alive and providing support for you, what is feeling nourishing and supportive, and what are the resources you have been relying on for greater nourishment. The intention of this creative ritual is to spark something within. To solidify your resources and ground you in the sensation of greater self trust. Part I. Coming Home Embodiment Dance. 1. Start your "Coming Home" embodiment dance from standing or lying down. Begin by bringing presence to a body part within you that feels like a resource. Is there a part of your body that provides you with a sense of stability, comfort and nourishment? Can you sense this feeling in your body somewhere? Let this be your primary body part resource for your dance. Then begin to move from this body part. Let it activate and inspire your Coming Home dance. 2. As you continue to move with your primary body part, note how the rest of your body responds. How does it connect to the rest of your body? How does it respond and move with the rest of your body? How does the rest of your body respond to it? Let your dance develop as the rest of your body moves with your primary body part resource. Return to the body part in the close of your dance and note the sensations present by doing a 3 level check in. Take at minimum 10 minutes for this portion of the Creative Ritual. Part II. Creative Harvesting. 1. Use paint, craypas, water color or any other medium that inspires you. On a large piece of paper, draw a small circle in the center of your paper and label it "Home" or any other word/phrase that identifies your return to center. 2. From your inner circle draw a spiral out to the edge of your paper. Identify your first step and create a symbol of this step. Label it. Continue to draw your steps and label them as you move inward towards the center of your spiral. Don't get caught up in the sequence of your steps, just make sure they are all present. You may choose to rely on different steps in different sequences in your life, so let that option be enlivened in your Coming Home image. Take 20 minutes for this portion of the Creative Ritual. Please share it with a friend! Thank you. Thank you dear clients for continuing to walk with me and grow with me. Each one of you inspires me to become a better person, a better teacher, coach and therapist. I am so grateful for you!
As my work grows and evolves, I continue to make adjustments with my services in order to honor your needs, and continue to give you my best work. My sessions and prices are getting restructured as of September 2014, in order to reflect the way I work with my clients more effectively, and also to reflect the value I give my clients in each session. As my work progresses, I feel more aligned with the bridge between both Jyotish and the body-centered approach to Expressive Art Therapy that I provide. At the end of September, I will no longer be offering just Jyotish consults. In the future, all my sessions will include both jyotish wisdom and insights as well as the tools of transformation and lasting change that the Expressive Arts provide. There are plenty of jyotishis that offer guidance strictly based on one's cosmic map, but few (if any) who bridge this wisdom with the transformational tools of somatic wisdom, embodiment and the Expressive Arts. This connection is my passion and my dharma and what I want to share with my clients. Each session requires a great deal of preparation on my part as well as individualized follow ups. Unlike most jyotishis, therapists and coaches, I spend ample time preparing for your session, but I also spend time after each session creating resources and valuable individualized homework assignments that are relevant to my clients' needs. As a result of the one on one time I give each of my clients inside and outside of our sessions, I am increasing my prices to more accurately reflect my time. My unique blend of coaching, jyotish consulting, and therapeutic guidance, gives my clients a very unique and well rounded approach to insights, answers, clarity and personal growth. What sets me apart from other coaches and consultants? More than just life-coaching and goal setting strategies, I offer clarity and support through jyotish insights for best timing, clear purpose and intuitive validation. As a Masters student of Body-centered Expressive Art Therapy, I give my clients embodiment tools and creative resources that work. With your action steps, these tools can assist your transformation and radically provide progress and change. More than just therapy, I offer you resources, straight forward answers, solutions, clarity and support, through Vedic wisdom and a variety of healing arts. I tailor my sessions specifically to what you need and what will serve you the most where you are right now on your unfolding journey. Every session includes 45 minute or more of my preparation time as I study your chart and questionnaire. You will receive a recording of the session afterwards plus notes and resources, a copy of your jyotish chart and dasha cycles, plus individualized creative ritual homework and follow up. My new session structure and pricing effective as of September 2014 is below. Each session type includes both jyotish insights, as well as body-centered art therapy work. Session needs will be based on the answers you provide in your client questionnaire. 30 minute Clarity Session $125 60 minute Focus Session $200 90 minute Grounding Session $250 120 minute Growth Session $300 New prices and session structure will be effective as of September 8th, 2014. You can view my new session types here by clicking on Jyotish + Body-centered Expressive Art Therapy Sessions. You can still book your sessions at my previous rates until this time. |
