Moon Mind :::
8.15 Moon in Anuradha (see yesterday's Moon Mind) until 14:17 CDT when it moves to Jyeshtha nakshatra ruled by Lord Indra and Mercury. Extra sensitivity and mental acuity abounds right now. Use the strength of Indra (god of rain, clouds and thunder) to cleanse, overcome and transform negatives into positives- especially on the mental level. Sun is sandhi (in the gap) of Cancer transiting Ashlesha nakshatra and moves into Leo tomorrow. This transit from Cancer into Leo is considered Gandanta because it is a junction between water (Cancer) and fire (Leo). This transit will mostly effect the mind and the mental/emotional connection. There may be tears for some and/or mental turmoil. We can thank the serpent energy of Ashlesha for this, the shadows, the misrepresentations of life and the poisons that we self-create. Regardless, this is a cleansing time, a time of rest and restoration if we use it properly. Use ritualized self-care and mystical wisdom to weather the storms. Meditate. Go within.

Happy {New Moon}
Moon Mind ::: 8.5 to 8.7 Moon transits Cancer, its own sign, until 8.7 at 11:21 CDT. 8.5 ::: Moon in Pushya nakshatra, the nourishing star, symbolized by a cow udder. This nakshatra is ruled by Saturn and the Moon (as well as Mercury and Sun) receive drishti from Saturn- sitting in Libra with Rahu. This aspect to the moon requires structure in order for benefits. Emotionally, there may be sensitivity and even depression. Do what is necessary for extra rest and inward balance. 8.6 ::: Moon moves to Ashlesha nakshatra at 09:11 CDT. New Moon (in Cancer and Ashlesha) at 16:50 CDT. New Moon here welcomes a new cycle of Mercurial pursuits. Communication in general and mental activities get a jump start and will ripen in the next month. Ashlesha nakshatra is ruled by Mercury and Sarpa- a serpent god. Today (as well as this new month) can be a good time for uncovering, researching, deep transcendence and hidden knowledge. Watch out for the snakes, the shadow energy, that results in deception and misinformation. The recommendations from the previous day still apply- as there is still an aspect from Saturn. 8.7 ::: Moon moves to Leo and Magha nakshatra at 11:21 CDT and joins Venus there. The next few days can bring creative sparks, inspirations and an energy to make creative movement. Use it. Creative Engagement Activity ::: Mark the new moon with a “head dance” using the theme of being “top heavy”- working from the top of the body, down to the ground, working with gravity. Take at least 30 minutes to move the body (soft music optional) starting with gentle, subtle facial awareness and move this into sensations of heaviness with head, neck and shoulders. Move this into the spine and hips, then into legs and feet. Notice sensations, colors, emotions and thoughts that arise during your “top heavy” exploration. Transition between grounding down and reaching up. Earth and sky are your outer landscapes/surfaces. Cultivate awareness of these “surfaces” while being aware of inner landscapes as well. Take at least five minutes of rest laying on your back (sivasana) to close. Grab your journal and finish these statements: I feel, I see, I imagine. Write an intention for the month to come. Take these verbal images into a creative watercolor painting. Alchemically we are transforming the heaviness of this “head dance” and moving it into something lighter. Wash your sensations and emotions anew with watered down paint and brush strokes. *I have returned from summer holiday and am booking sessions, starting August 12th. If you have already contacted me, I will be in touch shortly to confirm your session. Moon Mind ::: July 8th/9th
Moon moves from Gemini (where it was with Jupiter, Sun, Mercury and Mars) and into Cancer (its own sign). Moon transits Punarvasu nakshatra, ruled by Aditi (and the planet Jupiter), who is the universal mother of all goodness. (Mercury and Sun are currently in Punarvasu as well). Aditi brings assistance, abundance, and expansion of consciousness. Moon moves to Pushya nakshatra in the early hours on the 9th. Aditi gave birth to the 33 Devas which include 12 Adityas, 11 Rudras, 8 Vasus, Indra and Prajapati. These Devas are all pervasive expressions of the universe and thus Aditi is the foundation of the universe. She brings truth (satya), simple wisdoms of life and helps us to realize the sameness (sama) in this life experience. Aditi translates as non-difference; she can bring us an experience of unity consciousness. Pushya is ruled by both Brihaspati (Jupiter as a deity) and the planet Saturn. This nakshatra brings nourishment, as the symbol is a cow udder. Taking the awareness of Punavarvasu and Aditi, one is ready for the knowing and awareness that Pushya and Brihaspati offer. As of the 8th, the new moon occurred at 2:15 CDT this morning and has now moved into the bright half (waxing phase) and is in tithi 1- Amavasya, ruled by the planet Rahu. Moon (as well as the aforementioned planets in Gemini) are receiving drishti from Rahu right now. Jupiter, planetary ruler of Punarvasu, is receiving drishti from Rahu and is currently in Ardra nakshatra- ruled by Rahu. Thus an exchange of energies occurs here between Rahu and Jupiter. Worldly expansion is a possibility. Don’t get carried away.....As moon moves into the 2nd tithi, Dvitiya (ruled by Moon), expect a new awareness of smoothness to become present. A shift from yesterday. Saturn has now finally gone direct after many months of retrograde motion. Saturn sits with Rahu in Libra, both now in Swati nakshatra- ruled by Vayu (wind god/movement) and Rahu as well. The Rahu influences are thus strong right now. Mercury is still retrograde. We can expect structures and stability to start moving in a more supportive and helpful direction, however mentally, there will likely still be confusion and “clean-up” occurring. Find your surrender button. There can be friction and tensions with the inevitable changes, currents and shifts brought about by the expansive Jupiter and the movement of Vayu. Some of this will be on a grande scale. Some may be offered worldly support and assistance. For others, the experience of tempestuous storms will be enhanced. The temptations are strong right now for rajasic behaviors, the foreign and unusual, and general extremes- especially on the mental, emotional levels. Meditation may prove impossible as well as being on a good routine. Do the best you can. Perhaps find liberation in the opposition. We can use this time for “de-centering”, which will later help us return to our “balance” with greater understanding and clarity. Bon chance!! Moon Mindfulness ::: Moon Mind
Tuesday, 6.18 Moon moves from Virgo to Libra at 15:20 CDT and is in Chitra nakshatra currently. Chitra is ruled by Vishvakarma- the celestial architect and he can help us build, plan and create. Dreams become reality with proper plans and action steps. Tuesday is day of Mars and Chitra is also ruled by Mars. Mars is currently in Rohini nakshatra (Moon) and in Taurus (Venus). Watch anger and outbursts towards women and from women. Look for the connections to divine mother, Ma, the eternal life giver. Use momentum and force, courage and strength to create and get work done. Be bold in your creative actions. Make goals, take action steps for positive outcomes. Paint with red and orange. This is the day of Ganga- Ganga Dashahara {or Ganga Dussehra}. This is the first of ten days when mother Ganga descends to the earth. Embodied by the sacred river Ganga, she is said to wash away all sins with her cleansing waters. Note the planetary transits for the week via Horoscopes. Moon debilitated, Venus moving to the water sign Cancer, Sun into Ardra nakshatra- the internal waters will inevitably be moving. Be sure to use water as a way to clear and clean your energy at this time. Move with your internal tides, rather than forcing against them. Surrender to the flow. {Moon Mindfulness ::: Mind Your Moon}
6.11 & 6.12 Moon is in Cancer (its own sign), transiting Punarvasu nakshatra until 18:40 CDT today. Punarvasu is ruled by the deity Aditi, the universal Ma, the goddess of all good, she who gives goodness and abundance and showers her children with love. She can remove hindrances and obstacles, offer resources and provide wisdom- which is the ultimate gift. Aditi is the mother of the devas (the gods) and is our unified consciousness. Ruled by Jupiter, Punarvasu's experience for us right now may be about "tying it all together" and making sense of the fragmentation in body, mind, spirit and emotions. Look for the gift that keeps coming back. Look for the soft summer rains to clear some cobwebs. As Moon moves into Pushya later in the day and into Wednesday, the nourishment of this awareness should settle in. Pushya is symbolized by the udder of a cow, the sustenance of Ma, and gives ultimate nourishment for mind, body, soul. Pushya is ruled by Brihaspati, another name for Jupiter (the guru) however, this nakshatra is actually ruled by the planet Saturn, planet of grief and time, suffering. As the dust settles into the cracks and the awareness softens, note the sweet nectar that only can be offered by time. There may, however, be a bit of an edge, a sip of sadness, a few sighs in the process as Moon receives drishti from Saturn as it dances through Cancer (the emotional, heart centered, sign). Proceed with compassion- for your self and others. *Follow my daily Moon Mind posts on Facebook and via my blog for increased daily insights into the dance of nakshatra/pranic/intuitive and creative awareness. |
