Doors Close February 10th!! The week begins as Moon shifts into the third tithi (phase) of the waxing bright half, called Tritiya. Lord Vishnu rules this phase of the Moon and invites us to align with dharma, right action and that which sustains our soul's purpose, our highest truth. Saturn has just landed in Mula nakshatra and Sagittarius for the majority of 2017, causing adharma (that which is against dharma) as well as increased chaos, calamity and uncertainty. This is a time of great unmasking, a powerful opportunity for awakening from the illusions and shadows that keep you in the dark. Don't play small. Rise to the occasion! Stay close to your body and breath. Read more about Saturn in Sagittarius. This week, Mercury moves to Capricorn and Jupiter will retrograde Changes for the mind and spirit arrive. Monday, January 30th Moon in 3rd tithi Tritiya Late morning on Monday, Moon shifts to Purvabhadra nakshatra, where Ajaikapada brings preparatory steps for awakening and removing veils of ignorance. There is a poignant one pointed focus with this constellation. A focus and determination to meet the mark, yet often without the action necessary to achieve the goal. This is a preparatory nakshatra, more than an achievement oriented constellation. There is a need for preservation, holding, attending to, and especially pausing in stillness. Today is a day of preparation. Find clarity about your needs and next steps. What action still need to be taken in order for your success, in order for your desired outcome to be achieved? Pause, lean in and listen. Tuesday, January 31st Moon in 4th tithi Chaturthi Just before noon, Moon arrives in UttaraBhadra nakshatra, the domain of Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the deep, unconscious inner terrain. As a naga (a positive serpent), Ahirbudhnya supports deep dives into your darkness, bringing pearls of wisdom to the surface, to your conscious mind. Moon conjuncts Mars and Venus, receiving direct gaze from Jupiter who is currently at the very edge of Virgo. What are you learning about release and letting go? What emotions are holding you back, keeping you frozen and locked in old patterns and behaviors? Look closely at your feelings, as they lead the way to uncovering parts of yourself that are stuck, resistant or avoiding change. Wednesday, February 1st Moon in 5th tithi Panchami Late morning, Moon shifts to the final nakshatra of the zodiac, Revati. This is Pushan's domain, who nourishes and provides resources for long journeys. He protects, guides and helps you align with your right path, so that you can gather the necessary resources and support along the way. Mercury rules this constellation, giving a nod to the mental body, the mind. Working diligently with the mind is vital for being in right relationship with your receptivity, your ability to receive. Where are you denying or resisting more nourishment? What stories are keeping you stuck in lack? If you want to receive the nourishment, you must clear away your resistance to the receiving. Jupiter is at the very edge of Virgo right now, a poignant place for intensifying the attributes of Virgo and the expression of Jupiter. The 29th degree always increases the impact and effects of the sign and planet placed there. Right now, Jupiter (planet of wisdom and guidance) is intensifying Virgo's need for order, discipline, clarity and focus. Lack of clarity and certainty is challenging and overwhelming. With the chaos being provoked by Saturn in Sagittarius right now, there are ample reasons to feel ungrounded and imbalanced. For now, continue to align with your inner truth. Where do you feel this truth in your body? Listen for messages. Thursday, February 2nd Moon in 6th tithi Sashthi Early Thursday morning, Moon leaps through the gandanta (the gap) between endings and beginnings- Pisces to Aries. Gandantas are karmic knots that require uprooting and releasing parts of yourself that are stuck, stagnant and need to be released. The three gandantas of the zodiac often bring turmoil and chaos as parts of you are transformed, released and awakening to change. This is an ending and a beginning. What are you leaving behind? What are you opening to? As Moon arrives in Aries, it enters Ashwini nakshatra, a portion of the sky that supports healing and rejuvenation. Attend to self care diligently today. What resources are supporting you? How can you ground, land and establish more inner resiliency? Friday, February 3rd Moon in 7th tithi Saptami Mid morning, Moon moves to the second constellation of the zodiac, Bharani. Yama brings his transformation and restraint to this domain of the heavens. He requires clarity, order and simplicity, while also offering immense strength and power. The symbol of this nakshatra is the yoni, suggesting both vulnerability and incredible creative potential, as well as pleasure and vitality. Clarify your desires today, then work backwards. What do you need to do in order to activate and align with your highest power, purpose and potential? What is in the way of your success? Release and let go of anything in your way. Get clear on your action steps and move forward. Just as Friday begins, Mercury lands in Capricorn at 00:33 MST, joining Sun here. Both receive gaze from Jupiter, which offers a soft landing and increased wisdom during the transit. Mind sharpens, as Mercury leaves the gaze of Rahu. This cycle presents and opportunity for expanding the heart, while also finding strength and clarity with your needs, purpose and inner awareness. Cut away the excess, get laser focused on your needs and desires. Notice where you are allowing yourself to get distracted and sabotage your success. You'll need clear action steps in this cycle in order to maximize the potency and power of it. What needs to be clarified in order for you to succeed? The chaos and overwhelm is a choice. When you decide to get really clear and align with your inner order, you will also find your inner truth. Your only job is to honor this truth arriving and support it with clear, focused actions steps. Read more about Mercury in Capricorn Saturday, February 4th Moon in 8th tithi Ashtami Mid morning, Moon shifts to Krittika nakshatra, which aligns with Agni, the fire of life. Agni brings cutting, clarifying and purification through burning. There is heat in the process of change and transformation, which supports the alchemy process. Just after noon, Moon shifts into its exaltation sign, Taurus, becoming exalted. Waves of emotion are high, feelings intensify, requesting you to change and transform from the emotional body. Jupiter gives his gaze to the Moon, expanding and swelling the feelings arriving. What are you noticing within your emotional body? What emotions are rising to the surface in order for you to look more closely? What needs to be cleared, transformed and released? Allow the waves to come and let the purge take place. Then find the calm, your grounding on the other side. Sunday, February 5th Moon in 9th tithi Navami Sunday morning, Moon moves to Rohini nakshatra, the powerfully creative star with immense potential for manifestation. Lord Brahma rules this domain of the sky and by default goddess Saraswati is awakened here as well. Both the masculine and feminine principles of creativity, manifestation and inner wisdom, together, god and goddess create the perfect blend of inner potential. From this potential, all possibilities arrive. Align with your Creative Intelligence, your inner spark of Shakti. Allow yourself to shine, be seen and thrive. What are your greatest desires, your most potent potential? What is your soul's truth? Take steps today that help you succeed. What is blocking your immense creative potential? What is keeping you from fully aligning with your purest essence, your life force energy? Why play small, when all possibilities are available and within your reach? All that is standing in your way is you. Monday, February 6th Moon in 10th tithi Dashami Moon lands in Mrigashirsha nakshatra just as Monday begins. This is the Moon's constellation, which enlivens Soma, the divine nectar of life. There is growth, ojas and immense creative power available in this portion of the sky. Through extending and expanding your reach, you will find the nourishment, the resources and resilience to thrive, succeed and become deeply nourished. Moon has entered its mulitrikona degrees, which still expresses strength and power from the emotional body. Jupiter expands and increases this feeling level. Where are you playing small and resisting the nourishment of life? What part of you is too afraid to take a powerful leap forward? Look carefully and notice where you are holding yourself back. Reach towards resources that support your full potential, your deepest nourishment. Just before midnight, Jupiter begins his retrograde motion back through Virgo. Jupiter will be retrograde until June 9th. Retrograde planets increase in strength, intensifying their indications. This transit of Jupiter through Virgo, is provoking the need for clarity, certainty, purpose and alignment with your highest ideals. There is a certain naivety and innocence that is available- for better or worse. Read more about Jupiter and Virgo and its impact on your rising sign. * All timing is Mountain Standard Time.

The Nature of Saturn Saturn is a powerful planet, one that dishes up our karmas to us- but not on a silver platter. He is our greatest suffering and sorrows, but ultimately our enlightenment. He moves slowly and methodically, taking 2.5 years to move through each sign. What Saturn offers us is the depth of our being, our humanness, whether through experiencing the human form, the physical body, or through the reactions of our actions. Life might be easier without him, but it would truly lack depth, lessons learned, and the necessity for consistent effort which is necessary for us to grow and evolve. As per my article, Ripening Slowly with Saturn: "Saturn brings both the blessings and the curses of life- as he gives his wisdom only through the slow ripening of time, effort, suffering, loss and age. It takes time to learn the deepest, hardest and most important wisdom of life. This wisdom has to be worked for and requires effort to receive. Thus, Saturn pays us in enlightenment for the work, effort, steady actions, that we make over a long period of time. If we don't adhere to his rules for wisdom, he will make us suffer the consequences." Saturn is worth studying, working with, not against. Being very familiar with his ways is vital for life and living. This will cause less suffering, less misery, fewer health issues, and less depression and despondency. For on the other side of suffering is great alliance with Nature and her wisdom, as well as the sacred Laws of the Universe. This is one of the gifts that Saturn grants us when we are in alignment with Source. Saturn in Sagittarius Saturn shifts to Sagittarius on January 26th, 2017 at 02:55am MST for his first pass through this sign. He will be in Mula nakshastra the majority of 2017. This is a powerful re-structuring transit. As the planet of grief moves through the star notorious for adharma (that which is against dharma), it is imperative to stay close to resources, support and guidance that will help you stay true to your inner wisdom, your dharma and life path. Sagittarius correlates to the 9th house of your natal chart, which is the house of dharma. The 9th house is considered the most auspicious house of the chart, offering support and resources, more than challenges and struggles. It is also the house associated with teachers, but most importantly, one's guru. These days, most people have many gurus- so how you receive knowledge and who guides and supports you on your path, is also honored by this house. This can include coaches, therapists, healers, teachers of all kinds and anyone who shows up in a support role. The ninth house is spiritual, wisdom oriented and connected to higher education. There is also a correlation to the father, but most often the step father- as the guru was in ancient times. For everyone, understanding their natal 9th house, and how it expresses itself in the chart, will be important right now. As Saturn enlivens the themes of the 9th house during this transit, he will also by default, be activating your natal 9th house themes. This year, Saturn spends the majority of his time in Mula nakshatra- the first constellation situated in Sagittarius. It will be easy and tempting to succumb to fear and anxiety with this transit. It will provoke challenges and discomfort that might make you lose hope, trust or certainty with your inner light, your inner truth. Through facing your fear directly, using it as a resource for deep inner growth and transformation, you can awaken in very spiritual and empowering ways in the coming months. This transit of Saturn in Mula can bring great awakening, but only through your diligence, willingness and consistently showing up for your inner wisdom. This process will take your resolve. You must show up for yourself and others repeatedly in order to harvest the power of this process. What is your highest truth? What intentions are you aligning with right now? What is your heart and soul longing to bring forth into this one precious life? Saturn will stay in Mula nakshatra until June 21st of 2017. Part of this transit includes his retrograde dance back through this chaotic gandanta (gap). Saturn will retrograde on April 5th, 2017. Saturn will then re-enter Scorpio on June 21st for another four months, before re-entering Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra on October 26th, for the remainder of his 2.5 year transit through this fire sign. Saturn stays in Sagittarius until January of 2020. As Saturn shifts into Sagittarius, Rahu in Leo gives his gaze directly to this heavy, challenging planet of hard work and structure. When the energies of Rahu and Saturn come together, storm energy is enlivened, the power of Rudra (the Storm God) is invoked. This offers immense strength, but it must be channeled effectively in order to be utilized properly. With great power, comes great responsibility, Channel this power, force and strength effectively, and you will feel the wind in your sails. Allow this storm energy to control you, and it will induce more struggle, suffering and calamity. Find the calm within the storm and activate grounding, embodiment and core strength. This ongoing lengthy transit will be the most provocative and transformational since Saturn is the slowest moving planet and the grief giver. He impacts the physical body directly and brings ongoing duress because he is so heavy, old and slow. As the planet of grief, this is also an important time to pull out the roots of grief that have been living in your bodies unconsciously. Attending to your grief process and healing old wounds will be especially important in 2017. Everyone will be forced on some level to look directly at their suffering and pain. Hopefully this will bring new awareness. Why is this transit so provocative? Mula nakshatra is ruled by the dark goddess, Nirrti, responsible for adharmic activity- that which is against dharma. She is notorious for causing chaos, calamity and misfortune, while also pulling you from your dharmic path. There is a risk in the coming months of losing your path, getting stuck in the storm of uncertainty, confusion and misalignment- losing your path by succumbing to fear, doubt, and challenges. If you find yourself lacking clarity about your life purpose, or confusion seems to increase, it's time to seek support and guidance. Please reach out to me. Resources, guidance and support will be even more important at this time because it will be so easy to fall into the chaos and confusion that Nirrti provokes. With great diligence however, this can also be a time of strengthening your determination, focus and alignment with dharma. Do not lose hope. Do not get lost in Nirrti's perfect storm. Stay connected and aligned with your dreams, desires, goals and passions. These are important resources to help you honor your dharmic path. As challenging as this Saturn transit will be for many, it is also an opportunity to do some very powerful healing work in ways that will support deep, lasting change for the physical body. Saturn has not transited Sagittarius since December of 1987. You might recall what took place for you from the end of 1987 to December 1990, the length of Saturn's transit through Sagittarius. This will give you a good idea of what to expect in the next few years. You can also look at your jyotish chart and notice where Sagittarius is for you specifically. As painful as this process of letting go and uprooting will be in the coming months, it's also an opportunity for great change and transformation. Release and letting go allows new space and possibility to arrive- on all levels of your being. How you work with your pain, grief and challenges will determine your outcome. Remember that there's always a resource hidden in the challenges. The trick is to find them! It will be important to get extra support, resources and guidance in the months to come to help you transform challenges into possibility. Do not lose sight of your visions and dreams, goals and aspirations. Stay close to your body and breath and deepen your inner roots. Use resources to help you expand your creativity and what you think is possible for yourself. Try to keep life as simple and stable as possible. Saturn enters PurvaAshada nakshatra on November 27th 2018 for one year. Saturn enters UttaraAshada nakshatra on December 27th 2019 until he moves to Capricorn on January 23rd 2020. Horoscopes |
