This waning cycle encourages forward momentum with commerce, communications and creative imagination. Rahu and Ketu change signs for the coming year and a half, causing grande shifts for all. Shadows and desires, karma and liberation, all find new vantage points, promising transformation in the cycle ahead. Mercury goes direct Monday, January 25th at 13:46 PST, instigating forward momentum with the mind and all things mental body- including commerce, business, communications and imagination. Retrograde Jupiter continues to give his gaze to Mercury, softening and stabilizing the mind, yet provoking growth and wisdom in ways that may arrive as challenges and learning curves. Jupiter helps you expand. Expand the mind and what you think is possible for yourself. What is in your way of these achievements? As Mercury continues through PurvaAshada nakshatra, Apas brings support with her watery ways, increasing flow, fluidity and movement. With the conjunction of Venus and Mercury at this time, a powerful creative energy may be felt. Use this creativity for movement, change and supporting transformation. Mercury won't arrive back into Capricorn until February 8th, when he will ask you to revisit themes around forcing outcomes and pushing hard to achieve. Right now, where can you surrender and release? Where do you need more support? Gather resources now for greater stability. Harness the creative energy to help support ingenuity and new pathways for success. Rahu and Ketu officially move to Leo and Aquarius at 19:09 PST on January 29th. Rahu leaps into Leo, running right into retrograde Jupiter at the edge of this passionate, heart-centered sign. The corridor will be open wide with Rahu and Jupiter standing in the doorway of Leo (sandhi) at the edge, until Jupiter moves deeper into Leo days later. Rahu, however, doesn't move out of the 28 degree range until March. The netherworld will be activated and alive for most of February, supporting connection with the spirit world, liminal space and the transcendence. The collision of Jupiter and Rahu in Leo will provoke an interesting dance between the god-self and human-self. Saturn gives his stern, forceful gaze to these two planets from his perch in Scorpio. This focused energy will add an extra layer of intensity to the already powerful force of Jupiter and Rahu. When the energy of Rahu and Saturn conjoin, a Rudra effect is stirred. This can bring power, potency and intense movement as well as quick changes. This combination increases the theme of working with power authentically and carefully which will intensify after Jupiter moves to Virgo in August. Rahu and Jupiter invite an integration of opposing forces. Rahu is a demon who tricked the gods into giving him a drink of their immortal nectar. His craving for immortality, left him severed, chopped in half and still longing for what he could not have. Rahu expresses your human qualities, shadow nature and strong desires. His opposite is Jupiter- ruler of the devas, the gods. He encourages sattva, spiritual pursuits and pure knowledge. Read more about Rahu and Ketu moving to Leo and Aquarius. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your Western sign (Tropical) as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: Rise and shine. With Sun moving through your 10th house of career, it's time to focus on sharing your work with the world in bigger and bolder ways. Wake up and confront the light within you! What old, hidden shadows are keeping you from stepping into your power? What fears stop you from taking action? Get clear on who you are and how you are in relationships. Watch anger, frustration and rage. What resources do you need for more relationship support? Your work right now and in the coming months has a lot to do with how you use your power and authority. Go deeper, listen carefully and notice where you are functioning in unconscious ways. Taurus: Keep moving towards support and stability. Let the pelvis be a resource for tapping into this feeling within. How can you create more of this feeling? What experiences are helping you increase this awareness within? Notice your emotional responses when you don't feel supported. Who and what increases these feeling within you? There is a lot of learning to be had around these themes right now. A new empowerment is emerging simultaneously. Move through old stories and unconscious patterning. You are able to start re-writing your old programming and conditioning. But first you have to identify what is no longer serving you. Let your heart lead the way! Gemini: Notice what relationships feel supportive and nourishing to you. Invite those who inspire and encourage you into your sacred space. Clarify boundaries with those who don't help you feel good about yourself. Can you tell? As Sun moves through your 8th house, it's a time for your soul and spirit to regenerate, transform and change. Meditation, rest and extra support are necessary, as well as diving deeply into your personal mythology and old stories. Re-write and re-pattern your past conditioning around what you should do, have to and are supposed to do. You are in charge! Create and activate the life of your desires. How do you hold yourself back? The coming months support your creative courage. Move towards your inspiration. Cancer: Creativity is oozing out of you. Share your songs and eloquent words with the world. Inspire and uplift! Your creative power has the ability to help you start trusting your gifts more and more. Use it authentically. Use it to heal yourself and others. Use it to transform, change and grow. Let the challenges and pains be resources for your offerings, resources to help you deepen your awareness. You see the light in others, where they do not see it in themselves. You can reflect their wisdom back to them. Speak the sweet truth and use your power and authority in conscious, uplifting ways. Awaken the passion in your heart! Leo: Working with grief and pain is inevitable right now, yet you are resisting this work simultaneously. How can you lean in closer to the heaviness in your heart and listen more closely? You are bringing light to your wounds and beginning to heal parts of yourself that have been overlooked. This deep listening will help you support others in their pain more intently as well. Use your creative powers to communicate your wisdom, experiences and stories. A certain authority and power is emerging within you. The months to come support your empowerment and visibility in new ways. Activate your relationship with spirit as a new resource. Track your trauma diligently and notice where it effects your ability to connect fully and receive nourishment. Virgo: Creativity and courage continue to feel stuck, rigid and challenging. Use your grief as a resource for moving, changing and transforming these places of contraction within your being. Let the body be a resource for this process as it is the holding container of all emotion and feelings. Move towards nourishment; the heart will continue to show you the way. Creativity and artistry can support your nourishment and healing process. As you move towards nourishment and create more stability within, empowerment and self-trust deepens. This is vital for your transformation and healing process, as well as getting you closer to your desires and long term goals. Trust your process. Libra: Your warrior spirit is being activated, awakening your inner light and wisdom. Enliven the passion you have carried silently. Let it stir you and open up new possibilities for you. Creativity is available in your hands and words right now. Make sure you do not stifle this or suppress this flow. Let the body be a channel for your messages and creative wisdom. The coming months will support opening and closing doors. Start now by releasing and letting go of what doesn't serve or support your growth, empowerment and deep nourishment. Let the light within be a resource for gathering insights. Allow spirit to help you with this process. Trust your gut. Scorpio: You are creating safe, structured containment for yourself right now. Trust your boundaries and your slow, steady steps. This insures stable and supportive outcomes. Creativity is moving out and through your mouth right now. Share your words, thoughts and ideas. Sing, speak and write. People want to hear your message. Your ruling planet, Mars, is in a regeneration phase. Take sacred pauses in order to harvest the wisdom and insights. You are learning a lot about balance. Let the integration of your masculine and feminine energies guides you. The coming months support an increase in visibility and worldly activation. How can you start stepping out and sharing yourself in new, more powerful ways? Where are you resisting? Sagittarius: Relationships are proving to be supportive and encouraging. Which ones make you feel nourished and connected? Which ones increase anger and resentment? Where are you being malnourished? Healthy boundaries are essential. Take your power back. Who and what are you allowing to leak into your sacred space in unconscious ways? Clarify this! Activate your creativity through spoken and written words and let the computer and internet be a resource for getting your message out. The coming months will require that you look at your dharma more carefully. There is work to be done with your offering to the world. Step towards this purpose with conviction. Capricorn: The light is on and you are awakening. How are you using this new dawn? Put action steps behind your desires and find ways to activate your passion. You are creating a steady, grounded, clear foundation for yourself. Trust your steps and the roots that are growing deep. Continue to move towards balance and support, while noticing when you force or try to control outcomes. Add more femininity into your approach- more pauses, releases and fluidity. The coming months will provoke deep, inner changes that stir your entire being. Attend to old shadows and illusions that are keeping you in the dark. Use this new wisdom that is awakening as part of your offering. Aquarius: Slow and steady still wins the race. Be sure you are taking ample pauses, time for meditation and rejuvenation. With Sun transiting your 12th house, it's not a visible and energized time. Your efforts are best used for attending to your spiritual needs and seeking deeper nourishment. Who and what feels nourishing to you? Move towards this feeling and find new resources that help you deepen this. Release and clarify relationships and environments that don't feel supportive, healthy or satisfying. Strengthen your boundaries. Call upon relationships and resources that can support you in creating new, more nourishing relationships. Pisces: Share your creativity in bigger and bolder ways. Let your offerings be seen and heard by the world. Simultaneously it's time to clean up residue and old conditioning that is leaving you playing small, resisting your power and your immense creativity. Gather healing resources, extra guidance and support for activating your desires and visions. Friends can support your process and help you gain new insights. Speak and share authentically and notice where you continue to play small, where you resist your creative powers. Align masculine and feminine forces within, in order to maximize gains. Make time for sacred pauses in order for you to hear the messages of spirit arriving. *All timing is given in Pacific Standard Time Zone.

Ancestor altar. This Week's Intention: Movement, change and momentum arrive with intensity this week. How do you usher in these changes and transformations? Find soft ground within. Gather resources and sustenance for your journey. Cultivate connection to spirit for added support. The week begins with a waning Moon moving through the 2nd tithi (phase) while still in its own sign, Cancer. As the Moon shifts into Leo late morning Monday, this sets the tone for the week ahead. It will be a powerful week where ancestral support is available. Ask, invite and open your heart to their guidance. Mercury goes direct on Monday, while Rahu and Ketu change signs on Friday, marking big changes for everyone in the months ahead. It is important to have extra guidance, clarity and support for this time of transition- including yagyas. Monday, January 25th Moon in 2nd tithi Late morning Moon crosses the tricky gap (gandanta) between Cancer and Leo, from water into fire. As the Moon arrives in Leo, she lands in Magha nakshatra, Pitr's domain. The morning may be challenging and provoke discomfort on the emotional body level. Take care of your need for comfort and support by preparing in advance for choppy waters. The expression of Magha is fierce and severe- helpful for aggressive and harsh actions. Magha provokes power, increased authority, and is connected intimately to the ancestors and lineage matters. Often this star correlates to strong karmas with the father and his family line. The lower expression of this nakshatra can offer ego work, dominance and not being in right-relationship with power and masculine energy. The higher expression of this nakshatra can offer an activation of familial dharma, strong ancestral support and using one's power in ways that supports one's kingdom. What is your relationship with power today? Inner and outer? Seek resources, guidance and support to help you work with themes around father, power, lineage matters and the masculine. Mercury goes direct today at 13:46 PST, instigating forward momentum with the mind and all things mental body- including commerce, business, communications and imagination. Tuesday, January 26th Moon in 3rd tithi Late morning, Moon moves to Purvaphalguni nakshatra and Bhaga arrives with extra support and resources. Bhaga is an Aditya, a form of the Sun god, which means his purpose is to provide gifts, resources and worldly support in order for wealth, happiness and gains. The ruling planet of this star is Venus, who is currently transiting Sagittarius, conjunct Mercury. Saturn's gaze on the Moon from Scorpio, insures that any resources offered will be structured and may even feel constrictive rather than helpful at first. (Remember, Saturn just wants you to simplify). There is ample creative flow to harvest from today. Use the body as a resource for discovery. Do you know how to capture these currents effectively? What blocks your flow, your ability to receive your inner riches? Money is a vital resource that provides nourishment and support for life. How can you deepen your relationship with receptivity and receiving today? What blockages need to be loosened and removed in order increases? Rahu and Ketu are at the very edge of Virgo and Pisces right now, while retrograde Jupiter is still in the 28 degree range. The netherworlds will be activated and alive for most of February, supporting connection with the spirit world, liminal space and the transcendence. Sandhi planets are vulnerable, delicate and powerful in their ambiguity. It's true, sandhi planets lack the grounding and stability that a planet who is clearly situated within a sign may offer. It is as though the planet hasn't fully decided if it is in the house that it is in. It is on its way in or out, but hasn't decided which one it will be. Its bags are still packed, boxes are still full, and it may not know if it's here or there. It's a traveler. It's in limbo. Read more about Rahu and Ketu's transit. Wednesday, January 27th Moon in 4th tithi After noon, Moon shifts to the latter half of the Phalguni constellation, Uttaraphalguni. Ruling deity is Aryaman who is also one of the twelve Adityas. He brings resources and support through a strong physical body and good health, sustenance, marriage, relationships and the ancestors. He likes to see others happy through marriage and children- the ultimate repayment to the ancestors and one's lineage. His ancestral connections bring spiritual support and resources as well as the fruits for our labors. The Phalguni stars bring much fertility and creative energy. Today, ask for support from your ancestors, guides and spiritual resources. Get creative and let your shakti flow into endeavors and dharmic work that have depth and meaning to you. Late evening, Moon nears the edge of Leo, as it collides with retrograde Jupiter and enters the liminal space propped open right now by Rahu and Jupiter's sandhi movement. As Moon jumps to Virgo, it lands in tight conjunction with Rahu. Watch for extremes, excess and sudden events- especially on the emotional body level. How can you surf these tides and land? Find your grounding cord. Thursday, January 28th Moon in 5th tithi As Thursday arrives, the Moon moves away from Rahu while continuing through Uttaraphalguni nakshatra. Finding stability within is very important today as you will likely feel very ungrounded. Find ways to resource from within, track sensations in the body and create soft landings. As Moon shifts to Hasta nakshatra late afternoon, the emotional body becomes extra sensitive. Keep good company and healthy environments, nourishing foods and gather comfort. The emotions may feel shadowed and triggered- either through highs or lows. Track these emotions and find the underlying need. What do you need for greater stability and support? What action steps can you take to get this need met? The Moon crossing over Rahu today, receiving direct gaze from Ketu, sets in motion the transit of Rahu and Ketu tomorrow. It's as though an announcement is taking place through the Moon's reflection and it will mirror the transit to come. Notice and observe carefully as the emotional body responds to the changes occurring. What can you do to seek more grounding and stability within? Friday, January 29th Moon in 6th tithi Moon continues through Hasta nakshatra today, the constellation of Savitr. He signals the dawn, the coming of light and the increased awareness and wisdom that arrives with this light. There is a certain intelligence, awareness and insight available with Hasta. The hands are awakened with this star and can be used as a resource for this process of inner resourcing. Savitr uses his wisdom to create, heal and transform, turning all darkness into light. Savitr reminds us that every day there is a new dawn and the Sun will rise again- even when there are challenges, darkness and suffering. Look for the light today, the small sparks within, or the large beams shining down on you. Gather resources and tuck them gently into your heart. Moon shifts to Chitra nakshatra just before Rahu and Ketu change signs. Vishvakarma brings his strength, creativity and building skills to support action and momentum. Clarify your steps. Rahu and Ketu enter 0 degrees today, officially moving to Leo and Aquarius at 19:09 PST. Saturday, January 30th Moon in 7th tithi Late morning Moon jumps to Libra, joining Mars here. Both receive gaze from Ketu, who instigates sudden events and insights. The heat is turned up today on the emotional body. Seek to calm and soothe it, rather than light the fire. What does your anger really tell you about what you need? Moon transits Chitra nakshatra today as ruling deity, Vishvakarma, offers creative courage and potent action steps. He brings momentum, production, processes that result in outcomes or products, and he is quite the artisan. As the "celestial architect", his name literally has action in it (karma) which insures movement, change and productive steps. Ruling planet, Mars, increases the action-oriented nature of this star. It is said that as the architect of the cosmos, Vishvakarma built the zodiac and the ayanamsa- or jyotish chart- that is used today. He loves artisans, crafters and the creative process. Let today help you clarify steps, actions and plans. Building an empire?! Start today! Your small, consistent steps do add up. Just before midnight, Moon moves to Swati nakshatra. Movement and momentum arrive. What changes are you creating intentionally? Consciously direct your sails Sunday, January 31st Moon in the 8th tithi Today will fan the flames and stoke the fire within. How do you use this heat for positive forces? Moon moves through the powerful Swati star today as Vayu brings his windy gusts as a resource for change. The wind god can bring soft breezes that cool and refresh, or powerful storms that destroy. Wind supports movement on every level- whether internally in the physical body or through nature's moving air. As a Vasu Deva, Vayu increases illumination and insight and is fond of being seen and noticed, lit up and shining. Keep moving towards your light source. Take conscious steps to activate and bring clarity to your goals and desires. What are you creating in your life? What support and resources do you need to increase your strength and momentum? Connect with your emotional body today very diligently. Let it guide you and give you answers. Monday, February 1st Moon in the 9th tithi Swati's movement and momentum carries through the first half of Monday, guaranteeing a fast paced start. Just after 13:00 PST, Moon shifts to Vishaka nakshatra and the support of allies and companions arrives. Both Indra and Agni rule this nakshatra- each dependent on the other for gains and accomplishments. King and priest are interdependent on each other. Both rely on the others strengths, skills and resources in order to do their own job and carry out their own dharma. This is a reminder that we can not work alone. Relationships, co-creation and connection are vital to humans, and our ability to thrive. Who and what are you calling in today to support you? What do you need for greater nourishment and ease? Who can help you accomplish this task? Reach out, so others can reach back. * All timing given in Pacific Standard Time Zone. Moon moves into the 15th and final phase of the waxing cycle on Saturday, January 23rd. Arriving into Purnima (fullness), she also moves into her own sign of Cancer. Sun gives his direct gaze and Ketu gives his drishti as well. There are spiritual awakenings taking place and the heart is the entry point. Resources are arriving. Are you letting them in? Can you receive their messages? Full Moon is at 17:45 PST, while Moon is in its own sign, Cancer, and in Pushya nakshatra. Pushya nakshatra, is a Laghu star that is light, graceful and filled with ease. Cancer brings stability and support to the emotional body and Pushya provokes this balance. A rare and nourishing full Moon, these high tides will activate inner and outer harmony, which will flow through the waning cycle. Pushya is called the "nourishing star", symbolized by the udder of a cow. Just as a baby calf is given what it needs to grow and thrive through its mother's milk, this star allows needs to be met, nourishment to be received, and comforts to arrive. Ruling deity is Brihaspati, a personification of Jupiter, who grants pure knowledge, wisdom and dharmic support. Ritual, ancient lineage and truthful thoughts, words and actions must be cultivated. Sacred, spiritual knowledge, dharmic work and a strong inner knowing are granted under this nakshatra. Although Brihaspati and his expansive energy rules this star, Saturn as planetary ruler contradicts the increases offered. Brihaspati (Jupiter) is your inhale, while Saturn's energy brings the exhale. This dynamic exemplifies balance and stability. Pushya is connected to the breath, which is an expression of balancing opposing forces. Inhale, open and expand. Exhale, release and let go. Together, this dynamic stabilizes the forces of life and death- present in each breath we take. What are you inviting in? What are you releasing and letting go? This full Moon and the waning cycle ahead are a time to work diligently with transformational energies- especially those that support mental and emotional body healing. Track your challenges, shadow energies and dark matter- the parts that are holding you back, keeping you stuck and out of alignment with your inner truth. As you bring this darkness to the surface, allow it to change, move and release. This can be supported through modalities such as energy work, EFT, therapy, meditation, creative resources and movement. Track your progress by keeping a journal. Your heart center and emotional body will be striving for balance and integration at this time. How do you support this process? With force or with gentleness? With ferocity or grace? Remember that challenges are opportunities for change. Anger, frustration and heart fire are reminders to listen carefully to your inner passion. You are being called to make changes and take action in different ways. Can you change direction if necessary? Rahu and Ketu move to Leo and Aquarius during this waning cycle. As they move into their positions for the next year and a half on the 29th of January, there will be an adjustment phase. Rahu runs right into retrograde Jupiter in the process of this transit. It's a time for the god to meet the demon, the light to meet the darkness. These forces are at play within each one of us. What is your relationship with your darkness? With your light? This will be an opportunity to get more intimate with your mode of operation. Wherever you've been neglecting your darkness, spiritually by-passing or avoiding it unconsciously, it will show up to test you and your power. Gather extra support and resources for this time and make sure you have yagyas scheduled for planetary support as well. Let chaos and calamity come in as a cleaning force. Notice your reaction and response to this energy. Do you step in, step out, gain consciousness or unconsciousness? Use your creative powers to shift and transform the intensity into a healing balm. Can you allow in more ease? Do you accept and receive support and resources to help? Where are you saying yes? Where are you saying no? Use this full Moon for sacred and spiritual tasks. Purify and clean up your inner and outer temple. Cultivate sacred space and align with your inner truth. Move towards nourishment and comfort and activate this within your home and heart. Where do you feel comfort, support and nourishment in your body? What provokes and increases this feeling inside of you and within your life? Move towards this! Creative Ritual My Creative Rituals are intended to support your transformation and healing process in the cycle to come. Each ritual is in alignment with the cosmic tides- in order to help you adjust, shift and move more fluidly in balance with Nature's rhythms. Recycle this ritual more than once for added benefits. 1) Sit, stand or lay down. Close your eyes and fall into the rhythm of your breath. Notice the rise and fall of your chest, the waves of breath moving in and out of your body. Take some time to relax into this rhythm. 2) Start with a four level check-in. Notice the physical body. What is arriving? What is the physical body sharing with you? Be present to images, colors, words, expressions and shapes that arise. Notice the emotional body. What is arriving? What is the emotional body sharing with you? Be present to images, colors, words, expressions and shapes that arise. Notice the mental body. What is arriving? What is the mental body sharing with you? Be present to images, colors, words, expressions and shapes that arise. Notice the spiritual body. What is arriving? What is the spiritual body sharing with you? Be present to images, colors, words, expressions and shapes that arise. This level of awareness is the most nuanced. Sometimes it's available, other times it is not. Create a space for listening nonetheless. 3) Come back to the emotional body landscape and get curious. What emotions can you identify. What is the strongest emotion you can identify? 4) Create an image of this emotion that you identified through your self tracking. Use craypas or paint and put this emotion on paper- so as to transfer the felt senses into a tangible, visual expression. This is a powerful part of the process and one that can help transform the emotional body. 5) Once your image is complete, give it a title. Now, let it speak. What does your image have to share with you? If your image could speak, what would it say? 6) Move your emotional body image. Spend 5 to 10 minutes moving in response to your image, letting your internal waters shift, change and transform as you move. Allow your body to move as though it's in a dialogue with your image, as though they are in conversation. As you bring your movement exploration to a close, find a final statement. Say it aloud three times. 7) Come to your journal and answer these questions: I am, I want, I need. I sense, I feel, I imagine. Ask your questions and share your experiences below! * All timing is in Pacific Standard Time Zone (PST). I show artists, mystics and healers, as well as highly sensitive individuals- who are struggling with their life path, dharma, healing and transforming old wounds and limiting beliefs- how to gain clarity, increased creativity, nourishment and thriving- on all levels of their life, in order to create more inner and outer success. It is my intention to help you fully honor your path, find your dharma and have a greater sense of fulfillment in your life. Now booking sessions for February and March. Let's connect! Get the Details This Week's Intention: Expand and deepen the relationship with your heart wisdom. Use your creative powers to swim with the currents of your inner waters. Provoke and stir your desires and longings. Move towards the nourishment and let this feeling land more firmly within. The week begins with the Moon in the 10th tithi (phase) of the waxing cycle as Venus shifts to Sagittarius for the coming weeks. Mercury and Sun are more stable and in stronger degrees, yet the week begins with four sandhi planets still offering a sense of transition, change and uncertainty. There is still a lack of grounding that will be felt until mid week- once Venus strengthens in degrees. With retrograde Jupiter still at the edge of Leo, as well as Rahu and Ketu in the gap, moving to Leo and Aquarius, this theme of "neither here nor there" continues through February thanks to the nodes. Embodiment and grounding practices are vital at this time. Root into your truth and gather the answers you seek. Full Moon in Cancer is this Saturday, ushering in a heart-centered cycle ahead! Monday, January 18th Moon in 10th tithi Late morning, Monday, Moon shifts to Krittika nakshatra, inviting in the powerful forces of Agni to deepen your change process. There's a certain purification and clarifying process that is underway. Use simplicity to hone in on your needs. Themes of support and stability arrive. What do you need for more holding? Attend to your inner fire consciously and let your Agni guide you. Your hunger for life may be increasing. How do you feed this flame? Early afternoon, Moon moves to Taurus and into its exaltation degrees. Rahu, Mars and Saturn give their gaze. The emotional body is powerful and passionate, yet requests stability and support for greater ease. Channel this potency effectively and use it as a resource for accomplishment. Make your steps clear and focused to avoid burn out. Late evening Moon shifts to its mulitrikona degrees, supporting a more balanced use of the emotional body power. Find ways to land and ground. Gather resources to support integration and balance with your inner tides. Monday, January 18th, Venus moves to Sagittarius at 16:31 PST, inviting in a new creative cycle. There will be tensions with the creative process, perhaps chaos and overwhelm, yet the underlying forces at play are to provoke change in your creative currents. Can you land in the center of the storm and find your heart's desire? Venus and Mercury will be tracking each other closely in the coming weeks, continuing this dance into Capricorn next. Though Venus is not fond of Sagittarius, nor the gaze that Jupiter brings throughout this cycle, there is an integration being requested of you. Venus is the god of the asuras, the demons, or the human qualities we all express. Sagittarius is Jupiter's domain and his gaze intensifies his desires. Jupiter is the god of the devas, the gods. He encourages purity, spiritual pursuits and pure knowledge. Normally, the gaze of Jupiter is a comfort and a support, yet the relationship between Jupiter and Venus is tempestuous. Your demon and god qualities will be forced to face each other in this cycle. How can both get their needs met, in order for greater harmony within? Where are you spiritually-bypassing? This is a great time to be aware of where you may be refusing to look at your human parts with authenticity. Simultaneously, spirit is a great ally and a wonderful resource. However, even spirit wants you to evolve as a human being. It's time to be a fully integrated human. What resources and extra support do you need in order for this to happen? Relationships, finances, health and comforts will provoke your desire for change in the coming weeks. Where there are challenges and struggles, you will be more inclined to put in the effort for growth and transformation. What stories are intensifying? Where is there discomfort and dis-ease? Release and cleansing will be important resources during this transit, while cultivating a deeper relationship with your creative powers. Stagnant inner waters must be given the opportunity to move, flow and find a new current. This can be supported through intentional creative acts, the arts, embodiment and an entrepreneurial spirit. Remove and let go of the relationships that keep you strangled, undernourished and stifled creatively. This includes those that deplete your life force energy- leaving you dry and incomplete. Parts of yourself that you are clinging to, that keep you malnourished must also be let go. Keep cultivating a deeper relationship with your self in order to increase awareness about what you need for cultivating a richer creative process. Work with my creative rituals to support you with this. Find ways to increase your fluidity with healthy habits, nourishing foods and lifestyle practices, dance, chanting and singing. Let the legs ground you and deepen your presence of support in the pelvis. Integrating human and god qualities within will be supported through working with first and second chakras. Tuesday, January 19th Moon in 11th tithi The Moon continues through its mulitrikona degrees in Taurus and Krittika nakshatra until late morning, receiving drishti (gaze) from Saturn, Rahu and Mars. Eat a nourishing breakfast that supports the Agni. Don't skip or delay meals and tend to your inner flame with diligence. As Moon shifts into Rohini nakshatra, your manifestation abilities strengthen. Creative powers are activated and desires increase. How do you use your desires? Do you know how to manifest and create the life you long for? Are you working consciously with your creative powers? Use embodiment and the arts to strengthen this relationship today. Ruling deity Lord Brahma and his wife Saraswati are the masculine and feminine dynamic that will support your creative process. What do you want for your life and what feeling do you wish to create more of in your life? Rohini is a Dhruva (fixed) star, meaning that it supports lasting results. Plant the seeds of your desire and activate them. Use this for extra support. Venus begins to strengthen late afternoon. As it moves through its sandhi (gap) degrees, you can access the liminal space more acutely. Activate your creativity through the energetic, spiritual and ethereal. The body is your primary resource for this. Venus is moving through the first nakshatra of Sagittarius right now, Mula. This nakshatra is connected to adharma (against dharma) and removing that which doesn't serve or support your path. Bundle it up and discard it! Where is the chaos arriving to pull you out of your trust and truth? Wednesday, January 20th Moon in 12th tithi Let your creativity flow through the morning and use it to set intentions for the days and weeks ahead. As Moon shifts to Mrigashirsha nakshatra late morning, a new quality arrives on the emotional body landscape. The quality of this star is Mrdu, or soft and mild. It has a tender quality which requests growth and continual searching. Its aim and desire is nourishment, Soma, the divine nectar of life. It longs, wants, and creates from this yearning. Keep following your truth and access this wisdom from your body's messages. Where do you feel nourishment in your body? Where do you feel the absence of this? Keep moving towards this feeling of nourishment and cultivate more of what you want within you. As inner resourcing strengthens and solidifies, this translates out into your life and actions. Moon shifts to Gemini early evening, receiving direct gaze from the creative duo, Mercury and Venus, seven houses away. Take your creative activation from the previous days and start making your vision real. Dream big, create a vision board, write goals, paint your desires, dance your dreams, sing your songs of freedom! Retrograde Mercury invites you to re-visit, return and remember. Listen up. Thursday, January 21st Moon in 13th tithi The softness of Mrigashirsha continues until mid morning when Moon shifts to the sharp and dreadful nakshatra, Ardra. Notorious for emotional upheaval and big feelings, this star provokes deep, cleansing emotional body releases. Though uncomfortable, this constellation can also bring great power. Do you know how to work with both- strength and vulnerability? The emotional body is the key resource for deepening your relationship with both. How do you wield your sword of strength, yet land softly in your uncertainty and fragility? Life is both, human beings are both, the story of life is both. Honor your extremes, yet land firmly in the center of your being and ground into your strong, stable core. Let your heart wisdom remind you where that is. Friday, January 22nd Moon in 14th tithi Late morning Moon shifts to the gentle and benevolent star, Punarvasu. Aditi brings her resources, support and helping nature to increase wisdom, knowledge and truth. As the Mother of all goodness, she insists on our freedom and liberation, showering us with abundance when we are thirsty and in the dark. What wisdom, spiritual resources and guidance have you neglected, missed or brushed passed hastily? Ruling planet of Punarvasu, Jupiter, is currently in retrograde motion, retracing his steps through Leo. He supports your process of return and re-evaluation. Look closely at the support that is arriving to help you with empowerment, dharma, creativity, relationships and inner stability. Saturday, January 23rd Moon in 15th tithi, Purnima Moon moves into the 15th and final phase of the waxing cycle as Saturday begins, hopping into Cancer, its own sign. Sun gives his direct gaze and Ketu gives his drishti as well. There are spiritual awakenings taking place and the heart is the entry point. Resources are arriving. Are you letting them in? Can you receive their messages? Mid morning, Moon moves to Pushya nakshatra, a Laghu star that is light, graceful and filled with ease. Cancer brings stability and support to the emotional body and Pushya provokes this balance. This star relies on the breath as a resource for increased harmony. Inhale, open and expand. Exhale, release and let go. Together, this dynamic stabilizes the forces of life and death- present in each breath we take. Full Moon is at 17:45 PST, while Moon is in its own sign, Cancer, and in Pushya nakshatra. A rare and nourishing full Moon, these high tides will activate inner and outer harmony, which will flow through the waning cycle. Pushya is called the "nourishing star", symbolized by the udder of a cow. Just as a baby calf is given what it needs to grow and thrive through its mother's milk, this star allows needs to be met, nourishment to be received and comforts to arrive. More details about this full Moon and the waning cycle to come in my Full Moon Wisdom + Creative Ritual. Sunday, January 24th Moon in 1st tithi Pushya's nourishing support continues until Moon moves to the final nakshatra of Cancer, Ashlesha, mid morning. This is a Tiksna star which expresses itself as sharp, harsh and dreadful. It can execute tasks and make sudden decisions when necessary. Ruling deity, Sarpa, is a mischievous snake that can increase and provoke confusion, fear and negativity. He also has the power to remove these challenges, which he does through the mental body. Therapy, EFT, meditation, writing, communication and resources connected to the mind, will support this change process. Sarpa works to remove toxicity and transform it into wisdom- usually the occult or mystical variety. Consciously work to transform illusions and shadows into awareness and awakening today. Ruling planet of Ashlesha is Mercury, currently retrograde in Sagittarius. Use creative resources to transform challenge into resource. *All timing is given in Pacific Standard Time Zone.

I have said it before, but it's worth repeating over and over again. You do not create your life or manifest your desires from thoughts, thinking or the mental body. Creating what you want can only be done from the feeling level. Therefor the emotional body is a crucial resource for developing the skill of manifestation. The trouble is that your feelings also get in the way. On a conscious level, you may really want the new job and think you deserve it. You may even think you have a great shot at getting it! But under the conscious level of your awareness are emotions that will sabotage your ability to receive the job. You say you want it, but your unconscious feelings determine the outcome. Subconscious patterning, stories and your personal mythology are actually what is running your life. They often emerge as self sabotage behaviors and a resistance on some level to attract nourishment and support. The default story keeping you from the job may be "I don't deserve" or "I'm afraid of success". These stories are connected to deeply rooted, old wounds. These old stories, stir feelings and emotions that keep you locked in a cycle of not getting the results and outcomes you long for. I am a huge advocate of self development work and targeted resources to re-pattern, change and transform these old, subconscious stories and patterns. I use jyotish, embodiment resources, creative and art therapy tools, as well as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to help my clients move, change, transform and recreate their life stories. These resources work to bring change in a sustainable way. Remember that feelings are what help you create what you want. If you don't feel nourished, you won't be able to create more of it in your life. Here are five steps to deepen your relationship with your feelings and start manifesting your desires. Five Steps to Create The Life You Want 1) What is the outcome you are hoping to achieve? Get vivid and descriptive. Visualize the outcome you want and picture it actually happening. 2) How will you feel when this outcome happens? Drop into the emotional body and identify the feelings and emotions you will have when this outcome takes place. 3) Track it. Let the awareness of this feeling or emotion arrive with clarity and notice where this lands in your physical body. Track physical body sensations and deepen your relationship with this feeling. 4) Notice when this feeling or sensation arrives. What actions, experiences, places, people, etc. bring this feeling to you? 5) Keep deepening your relationship with this feeling. Invite in more of this feeling and sensation. Keep deepening your relationship with this feeling daily. This will attract more of it to you and your life. Want some extra support with this process? Use my Release and Transform Podcast below for some extra guidance: In the podcast below, I share a tapping (EFT) sequence with you that will guide you through transforming and releasing the old stories and invite in more receptivity. Remember, we start with identifying the challenges, then moving into possibility and desires in order to transform our shadow into light. Use this podcast as you tap through these points: Karate chop point (side of the hand). Crown of the head. Eyebrow point (above the eye). Side of the eye. Under the eye. Under the nose. Chin point (crease of the chin). Throat point (collar bone/throat chakra). Heart point (center of chest). Stomach point (above the navel). Side body (nipple line at side of chest). Tap six to ten times on each point and just keep cycling through the points. Repeat the phrases I use aloud. Share your experiences below! What emerged for you in this process? Excited to hear from you! * One of my favorite things to do is hike in the woods. Often I tap and walk. This is a recording I made on one such hike. It was windy and snowy, so you'll here the elements along the way! In this waxing Moon cycle, the feeling of potential will be ripe and awakened. Mercury, Sun and Venus change signs, while Rahu and Ketu continue to prepare for change on the 29th of January. With all this movement being stimulated, the gaps between signs will be opened and awake. Rahu and Ketu are sandhi- at the very edge of Virgo and Pisces respectively. The Sun and retrograde Mercury switch signs, just before Venus moves into Sagittarius. Jupiter continues to retrograde, though from the very last degree of Leo. This puts five planets in sandhi simultaneously over the course of the days to come. This sense of here nor there, however, can offer some profound insights and awareness. Nothing is all good nor all bad, and this is quite true with sandhi planets. The gap offers us a connection to the mystical realms, the nether realms, and can offer great depth and awareness with what feels untouchable most of the time (or all the time depending on the individual). Planets that are sandhi offer potential, possibility, unique insights and depth as a result of their "otherworldly" connections. These are flexible planets and of course that can show up as versatility in a person as well. We can let this lack of grounding hinder us or give us great awareness. That is a choice. I like to remind my clients that what may appear to be a "negative", is in fact a great gift of some sort just waiting to be discovered. If there's any part of a chart that gives this type of indication so clearly, I think it is sandhi planets. Read more about the effects of sandhi planets. There's a certain potential alive right now in the planets. This can be terrifying, exciting and highly creative. What are you moving towards? What are you creating for your life and your path? What excites you and stokes your creative fires? Move towards these desires. On January 14th, Mercury retrogrades back into Sagittarius at 01:51 PST, joining the Sun who is poised at the edge of Capricorn. As they conjunct here, they will be in exact degrees. Once Mercury lands back in Sagittarius, he runs right into the Sun, rendering him combust and in exact conjunction with the direct heat of fire itself. The mind will be hot, agitated and fragile leading up to and after this transit so be mindful of your thoughts, words and actions. Sun and Mercury pass and begin to separate as Mercury retreats back through Sagittarius and the Sun moves forward into Capricorn. Though they will be separated by being in different signs, they are both still sandhi in the coming days- meaning the threshold between signs is open and vulnerable. It's as though the door is open and energy can move through easily. Notice where Sagittarius and Capricorn are in your chart and what bhavas (houses) are activated by these transits. These are areas where heat and mental body stimulation will be intensified. Retrograde Jupiter now gives his gaze to Mercury, softening and stabilizing the mind, yet provoking growth and wisdom in ways that may arrive as challenges and learning curves. Where do you need more guidance, support and stability? What resources do you need for this stability to take place? Gather more support for the mental body. Use the physical body as a resource for grounding and stabilizing within, while stepping out of the pitfalls of the mental body. Just after Mercury moves back to Sagittarius on the 14th, Sun moves to Capricorn for the coming month at 11:33 PST, which will offer more grounding and earth based energy in the weeks to come. It's also a time to increase your visibility, step towards your desires and life offerings and be seen for your work in this world. Simultaneously, pushing and forcing may be your ways. This type of action is not sustainable and will effect your physical well being. With Rahu, Mars and Saturn giving their gaze to the Sun during this transit, the theme of forcing agendas and outcomes will be strong. Rahu offers intensified desires, while Mars brings his warrior mentality. Warriors don't think, they act. Saturn on the other hand will only support slow, steady steps. This combination is a lot like trying to start a fire without enough kindling. That said, where there's a will, there's a way. But at what cost? Seek balance and harmony with your power and purpose. How do you get the job done? Is it possible to weave in healthy doses of rejuvenation and relaxation, without burning yourself out? How do you know when you're approaching burn out? What signals does your body give you? Use your creative life force in ways that strengthen the fire, without burning too hot and quick. Slow and steady wins the race. Notice when the feeling of balance and stability lands in your body. Can you locate this within? What is nourishing this feeling? What is depleting it? Delegate and use effective communication to get your needs met. This will insure that you get your message and offerings out into the world more effectively. Tend diligently and tenderly to the inner fire and cultivate a deep presence with your passion. Your gifts deserve your attention. Put your focus on your greatest desires. Seek balance with your light and dark forces, polarities and opposing energies. How do you treat your darkness? What types of pleasure are you seeking? Are you in right-relationship with this? In this Sun cycle, stepping towards your power, while cultivating an intentional, harmonious relationship with it, is absolutely key. January 18th, Venus moves to Sagittarius at 16:31 PST, inviting in a new creative cycle. There will be tensions with the creative process, perhaps chaos and overwhelm, yet the underlying forces at play are to provoke change in your creative currents. Can you land in the center of the storm? Start 2016 off with clarity, support and extra resources, Schedule a personal session. *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic (sidereal) rising sign. Aries: Work on strengthening relationships with TLC and balance. Where do you hide who you are, just to keep things pleasant? Where do you need to show up more authentically? Dive into your depths and work consciously on your challenges, obstacles and difficulties. Use grief as a resource for cleansing and healing old wounds. Career gets your focus and the light of the Sun in the coming weeks. Make hay! Dharma is full of creative potential. Use your creative powers to instigate new possibilities and opportunities for yourself. Taurus: Continue to seek stability and support within. Notice when it arrives and where you feel this in your body. Use this as a resource to cultivate more stability in your life and relationships. Dharmic pursuits are being activated and awakened on multiple levels. Look for themes and old desires returning to support your ambitions. Creativity is being cultivated and activated from your raw humanness. Channel your creative power into potent expression, words and sounds. Speak your creative truth and land in the nourishment of your heart wisdom. Gemini: Keep integrating your heart's desires with your creative desires. Gather support, resources and guidance for your process. Who is walking with you? Let go of those who don't fully align with your needs for creativity and expression. This is a release cycle for you as Sun dips into your 8th house. A time for more silence, introspection, meditation. Spend more time with your inner landscape and use this as a channel for your creativity and self expression. Work with the recurring, old and heavy themes that continue to emerge. Rather than resisting your challenges, step towards them, then transform them through your creative powers. Cancer: Work consciously on balancing your heart wisdom and emotional body. This effects your relationships, home life and how you show up for yourself and your life. Find a new balance with anger, passion and frustration, in order to help relationships be more balanced as well. Be authentic with yourself and your emotions. Seek nourishment, new resources, support and wisdom. Work on healing bad habits with sugar and intoxicants as well as money and relationships. Where do you need more healing and guidance? Work with father issues and patterns you received from your father in order to heal your inner power struggles. Leo: Keep retracing your steps and covering old ground. Where have you missed important resources and support the first go 'round? What teachers and guides are returning to help you? Let creativity and the arts be sparked and activated with passion. Continue to seek stability and grounding in your heart and home, while moving through grief, struggle and pain with authenticity. Don't apologize for your feelings, honor them. Shine light on your healing process and use it as a resource for overcoming bad habits. Get playful and lighten your spirit when life gets overwhelming. Virgo: Retrace your steps and cover old ground. Foreign lands and travel, as well as rest and rejuvenation provide new types of support and new resources to emerge. There's creative potential ripening in your heart center. Where do you channel these powerful forces? Let the body be a primary resource for activating your creativity, while using the arts and movement to keep the grief moving through you. With the many releases that have occurred in the past 1.5 years, it's important to be digesting these experiences and emotions very consciously. Find ways to express, share and lighten this load. Speaking and connecting with supportive relationships are vital. Libra: There is a lot of energy and dynamism moving through you. Some of this you are transferring onto relationships. How do you use this passion and power? How do you work with your anger and frustration? Find balance with your drive and ambition, heart and emotions. The hearth and home, the seat of your emotional body and your ability to land and ground are getting a lot more focus right now. Use grounding and stabilizing resources to support this process- including embodiment and physical body awareness. Let your creative waters flow through writing, the arts and movement. This is highly dharmic right now. Find new pathways with these resources. Scorpio: Continue to navigate your grief and suffering with authenticity and awareness. You are in a deep change process. Don't expect anyone else to get it. Gather resources and support for your self and your work. Get creative with how you share and who you share with. Use voice and writing to get your message out. Let your words speak for themselves. Find ways to balance and harmonize your energy without pushing or forcing. Self care and playfulness are the antidotes for the general heaviness you are working through. Notice where your life needs more balance and seek to restore a sense of stability and harmony there. Sagittarius: Strong creative currents are moving through you. How do you channel these forces? Relationships may feel comforting and supportive as well as provide resources for ideas and new connections. Continue to find new and unusual ways to share your work with the world and move towards dharmic pursuits. What support and guidance is returning to help you with this process? Seek stability through time alone and extra rest. Rejuvenation and retreat time proves vital for helping you digest grief and challenges. Be diligent with your need for silence and solace. Share your truth, ideas and wisdom through the spoken and written word. Capricorn: Use the energy and power coming to you as a way to activate career and offerings. The Sun is starting to shine in your head and the light bulbs are going off. The cycle to come will be helpful for shining in bigger and bolder ways. Step out of your comfort zone and into your power. Clarify who you are, how you are and what you offer. Creative energy is supported with rest, retreat and relaxation. Allow yourself to feel the support of creativity and the increased fluidity it can bring. Find new resources and re-visit old means of support and nourishment. Gather your team and start delegating! Greater receptivity comes with deeper compassion for yourself and others. Aquarius: Continue your methodical steps with your career and offerings. Notice where your steps are adding up. Create ample time for self care, retreats and rest. Get away, find time to be alone, meditate and pause. New ideas, possibilities and pathways for change arrive when you slow down and create space for them to emerge. Seek stability and support within yourself and relationships. What resources and guidance do you need to help with this process? As you deepen your own self development process and work with your shadow parts, you create greater balance in your life- inside and out. Keep moving towards harmonizing your opposing forces. Pisces: Ample creative energy is moving through you. Channel it into your career and offerings. Let relationships and ideas cultivate new possibilities. Let grief and struggle be a teacher for you, a way to find more balance with your inner landscape. Seek harmony and integration with the past and the strong emotions. Anger is a resource for growth right now, as well as your passion and courage. Friends may be supportive allies with your healing process to pay attention to resources emerging. Your healing path and process is inviting you to revisit resources and support that you may have previously overlooked. What is re-appearing to remind you? *All timing is given in Pacific Standard Time Zone.
Ready to make the New Year a powerful and potent year? Get some extra guidance and support from me. Schedule a session with me. This Week's Intention: Stabilize and integrate your power and purpose. How do you use your strength? Rather than imploding or exploding, find a harmony with your extremes. Seek balance- inner and outer. The week begins with a waxing Moon moving from the second to third tithi (phase) on Monday. This week we will feel an interesting shift as Sun moves forward into Capricorn and Mercury continues his retrograde dance back into Sagittarius. These two planets will be in a tight conjunction leading up to and after these changes, causing intensity and heat in the Mental body. Jupiter continues to retrograde back through Leo, while Saturn and Venus slowly begin to separate in Scorpio after a tight conjunction this past week. Five planets will be sandhi by the end of the week, this creates a profound and powerful vulnerability of sorts. How will you use this uncertainty as a resource to find your inner power? Monday, Moon continues to move through Sravana nakshatra and Capricorn, receiving the gaze of Rahu, Mars and Saturn. Vishnu brings his dharmic messages and the ability to hear more clearly. He provides support for our dharmic path and brings wisdom through lineage, spiritual teachings and knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation. There is ample intelligence available. How are you using your capabilities? Strategy is on your side. Clarify your steps and goals. Act mindfully. Early evening, Moon shifts to Dhanishta nakshatra and the Vasu Devas arrive to support your bright shining light. Light your inner lamp and step towards your truth. What does your soul need to express? What is it here to accomplish? Move towards this desire and let the light guide you. Tuesday, Moon continues through Capricorn and Dhanishta nakshatra, until mid morning when he moves to Aquarius. He receives gaze from Jupiter seven houses away, providing a bit of nourishment and support to our emotional body landscape. The Vasu Devas bring their shining light and support to those who take action. They like to be seen, heard and noticed- especially in connection to talents and good deeds. The ruling planet of Dhanishta is Mars who is currently transiting Libra. Make your actions balanced and integrated with consistency, clarity and purpose. Where are you pushing too hard, forcing yourself to accomplish? Are your action steps imbalanced or out of harmony with your physical well being? Put action behind your need for support and stability. Early evening, Moon shifts to Satabisha nakshatra. Symbolized by an empty circle, there is potential and possibility available here. Translated as "has a hundred medicines," Satabisha is intimately connected to healing and transformation. Its ruling deity, Varuna, has a thousand eyes- to see everything. This is often experienced as a heightened critic, which can increase fear and anxiety. When one's sensitivity is imbalanced, fears and phobias can be exacerbated. This is a moveable (Chara) nakshatra which indicates that outcomes under this nakshatra can change, transform and move. What needs to shift in your life? Where are you resisting nourishment and support? Sun is sandhi, at the edge of Sagittarius. Attend to self care on the physical and spiritual bodies with extra care in the coming days. Wednesday, Moon continues to transit Satabisha, increasing a certain sensitivity with the mental body today. Mercury is in the gap, moving backwards, at the edge of Capricorn and at less than a degree. The mind is both delicate and sensitive, as well as intensified and strong. Where is the mental body forcing you into overwhelm and overs-stimulation? Be mindful of your actions and choices. Too much caffeine or stimulants can derail your calm and inner stability. Get the rest you need and be sure to meditate. Diseases and health concerns that begin under Satabisha are said to be incurable. Attend to your health and wellness with balance and extra support. Where do you need extra guidance and new resources? Late afternoon, Moon shifts to the first half of the Bhadra constellation, Purvabhadrapada. This is the territory of Ajaikapada, a Rudra who is capable of immense leadership and casting off evils. Nataraja, the Lord of the Dance, is another name for this deity. Symbolic of balance, there is both grounding and movement awakened here. Stepping and grounding, stability and yet change. What are you balancing in your life? Where are your polarities beginning to integrate? Where do you need more support? Notice where the balance and harmony are arriving. Move towards this feeling and deepen your relationship with it. Thursday begins with the shifts of Mercury and Sun as they switch signs and move into tight combustion. Mercury retrogrades back into Sagittarius at 01:51 PST, joining the Sun who is poised at the edge of Capricorn. Sun moves to Capricorn for the coming month at 11:33 PST, which will offer more grounding and earth based energy in the weeks to come. As Sun moves to Capricorn, Makar Sankranti begins. This Vedic celebration is spoken of in the Mahabarata and celebrates Surya, the Sun god. Makara (or Capricorn in Sanskrit) is the return of increased light as Sun begins its journey northward- towards the Tropic of Cancer. Vaidya Rama Kant Mishra shared this in his latest newsletter: "The transition of the Sun from the Southern to the Northern hemisphere, in Shaka Vansya Ayurvedic terms, is an occasion of great joy, as it marks a more nurturing phase of the Sun's relationship to the earth and our human bodies. While the Sun is in the Southern hemisphere it is more detoxifying, but when it moves to the Northern hemisphere it becomes more nourishing and nurturing." Makar Sankranti falls on the 14th and 15th in the US and ushers in new beginnings. Start something new, set intentions, take a symbolic action step, rejuvenate yourself and celebrate with sweets and joyful activities. Thursday, Moon moves to the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces, late morning, joining Ketu here. As Moon transits through the latter half of the Bhadra constellation, Uttarabhadra, starting early afternoon, a request for inner depth increases. Ahirbudhnya invites deep, internal excavation and asks that you go beyond the surface in order for a rich harvest. Dive deep for your inner treasures. Since he is a Rudra, there is a certain power and strength provided by him. Resources, pleasures, delights are his gifts, as well as removing obstacles and challenges. How can your path be easier? Move boulders out of your way. Friday delicately begins with five planets sandhi, in the gap between signs. Sun and Mercury have just changed signs and are getting used to their new placements. Rahu and Ketu are at the edge of Virgo and Pisces, preparing to change signs for the next one and half years. Jupiter is at the edge of Leo, now retrograde. As Moon continues through Uttarabhadrapada today, resource from your depths. What do you truly want and need for your deepest nourishment? If you can land in the unknown fully, you'll find your answer. Early afternoon, Moon shifts to Revati nakshatra, the final lunar constellation of the zodiac. On top of the uncertainty of five sandhi planets, there's a sense of release and endings being provoked simultaneously. Revati is ruled by Pushan who brings resources and support for our path and journey. What is showing up to support you right now? What are you gathering? What themes emerge? Saturday morning continues to support the release and letting go process. Use your morning intentionally to lean into this. Organize, plan, write, communicate and clarify your vision moving forward. Around noon Moon crosses the tricky gap between Pisces (water) and Aries (fire). Feeling the steam? As Moon lands in Aries, it receives direct gaze from Mars and passion stirs. This may emerge as anger, frustration or rage. Can you identify why this fire is burning within? What are the needs that are underneath these hot emotions? Moon moves through Ashwini today. Use the remainder of the day for rejuvenation and attending to self care. Mercury and Sun are both stronger in degrees now which supports mind and body. Get outside, move your body, strengthen through fresh air and moving your prana. Consider today your fresh start! Sunday increases the energy of Venus as Moon moves to Bharani nakshatra midday. Ruling planet of this lunar constellation is Venus. Venus also moves to the edge of Scorpio today, becoming sandhi. Just as Sun and Mercury strengthen in degrees, yet another delicate change begins. Ketu, Rahu, Jupiter and Venus are delicate and request deeper inner awareness. Relationships will be vulnerable today as well as in the coming days. Money, resources, comforts and creativity request your liminal attention. In order to get the memo, you must pause intentionally to listen. What do you need for deeper nourishment? Where are you resisting, refusing to let your needs be met? If there is pain or suffering, you are being reminded to land more softly into your inner resources, rather than forcing change from the outside. Make the necessary changes and adjustments that are being requested of you. This is a transformational and healing time. Gather support and resources for your change process. Late morning, Monday, Moon shifts to Krittika nakshatra, inviting in the powerful forces of Agni to deepen your change process. Venus moves to Sagittarius at 16:31 PST, inviting in a new creative cycle. There will be tensions with the creative process, perhaps chaos and overwhelm, yet the underlying forces at play are to provoke change in your creative currents. Can you land in the center of the storm? *All timing is given in Pacific Standard Time Zone.

Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Perhaps the easiest- yet the most challenging- Self Care resource available, is the ambiguous, Drop It. That's my way of saying, do you know when to let go? More importantly, do you know how to listen to your body's messages in order to hear when it needs you to stop, slow down or change your course of action? The body is always giving us vital messages, yet the majority of the time we are not listening to them. Can you hear your body talking to you? As I consistently share with my clients, the four level check-in is really step number one. Make this your practice daily and get in a habit of taking the time and creating the space, to hear your body's messages. When do you slow down or stop? Do you wait until you are sick and you are forced to be in bed for two or more days? Do you wait until you are dragging and have no choice but to stop? Do you let the mental body ramp up to anxiety level before you notice the red flags? Or perhaps you wait until full blown depression has settled in before you start to listen? These are messages that one of the four levels of your being is yelling at you! Here are some clues that you have pushed passed your vital messaging systems: Physical Body: Aches and pains, fatigue or exhaustion, broken bones or limbs, nausea or vomiting, cravings, serious health diseases or disorders. Emotional Body: Depression, malaise, anger and rage, anxiety, frozen or numbness, intense or amplified emotion of any kind. Mental Body: Anxiety, worry, fear, over-active mind, heightened critic, any intense or amplified thoughts, stories or images. Spiritual: Disconnect, inability to resource or find a connection to spirit. Often we wait until we are having a huge physical, mental, emotional or spiritual challenge- or even crisis- before we really start to listen. But it doesn't have to be this way! If often tell my clients- it's not a problem until it's a problem! Usually the problem is what forces us to change. However, what if we noticed the "problems" in the moment when they arrive? What if we were so good at tracking our internal responses that we could shift, re-direct or drop it right then and there?! I believe that's possible with awareness and is the key to prevention. With daily and weekly self tracking and the internal harvesting of our needs, we can begin to make adjustments in our actions and choices. This is Self Care in action! Art, embodiment and somatic resources can help us do an internal audit- in very concrete and tangible ways. These resources help us deepen our listening skills and our ability to hear what the body's messages are. Use this five step process to help you identify what your needs are: Step #1 Do a Four level check-in. Track the messages within on each level. Write them down in your journal if that helps you remember them. Step #2 Identify the loudest body. Is it your mental, emotional, physical or spiritual body? Which one has the loudest voice or is the most amplified? (You might also want to notice which one has the softest voice as well). Step #3 Let yourself enter a dialogue with the loudest body. (You can also do this with the quietest body as well). Go a bit deeper and see if you can track any more information. What does it have to share with you? Then ask this body to answer these questions: I am I want I need Step #4 Pay special attention to what this body says it needs. The need is often connected to getting more nourishment or greater support on some level. How might you be able to meet the needs of this part of your body? What has to be shifted, changed or even dropped in order to give this part of your body what it needs? Are you resistant to doing so or are you open to asking for support and solutions? Step #5 Take the necessary action steps to get what you need. Often this requires change on some level of our life. Are we willing to make the necessary changes? Remember, this is truly a radical self care process. It's like a muscle that strengthens with flexing. The more you do it, the easier it gets. Listen deeply to what your inner bodies are telling you. Resource from within. Then make adjustments or changes where necessary. Can you let go- in order to find deeper nourishment? What do you need to drop in order to lighten your load? Use this alternative tracking process for deeper listening and healing + a podcast to walk you through the process. Want extra support, guidance and resources for 2016?

Cultivate home and harmony within you and your sacred space. Let your creative powers cleanse and purge you. The new Moon is at 17:31 PST on Saturday, January 9th, while Moon is in Sagittarius and PurvaAshada nakshatra. Mercury and Jupiter are both retrograde and Venus and Saturn are only a degree apart. Jupiter gives his gaze to both Moon and Sun, providing extra support and nourishment. Planetary ruler of PurvaAshada is Venus, the karaka for life force energy, shakti, as well as creativity, relationships, comforts and certain types of nourishment. With Saturn and Venus both in tight conjunction in Scorpio at this time, it's a reminder to seek integrated balance with opposing forces. Light and dark forces are strong at this time and request harmony in order for inner stability and support to increase. Ruling deity Apas is connected to this fierce, Ugra nakshatra- known for its destructive tendencies. Her watery power exemplifies the potency of creativity and life force energy. It can change, transform and destroy- quickly changing the outcome of events. Water can be gentle, soft, flowing and cleansing, or it can sweep in and destroy in a matter of minutes, or slowly over time. Water can be kind or harsh, yet its alchemical wisdom brings change and transformation regardless. The new Moon requests comfort and nourishment for the emotional body. Find ways to heal and support the feeling level of your being. Move towards the soft, gentle and kind. Use self care consciously to ground, land and get embodied. There is healing, moksha and release for those who attend to and honor their emotional body wisdom. How can you soften? What needs to be released so that you can find the comfort you seek? Drop the extremes, the intense overwhelm and land in simple steps and silence. Integrate masculine and feminine parts- the go and do dynamism, with the slow and gentle flow of the feminine. Where are you pushing and forcing? Where do you need to surrender to the flow? Let your creative forces be the catalyst for change. Listen carefully to the wisdom of your creative tides. They are asking you to release and drop into the unyielding wisdom of your inner realms. Break free of the bindings that keep you locked into pain, struggle and harsh ways. It doesn't have to be so hard. Let your feminine, the inner mother, nourish and protect you. Invite her in to your heart and home. Create sacred space both within your body, your soul's temple and within your physical home structure, the temple of your being. Use beauty, warmth, fire and movement to cultivate a sense of renewal and grounding in your home space. Clear, cut, purge, release. Change furniture, move items around and get transform the energy. Relationships also need change, movement and space to grow. How are you attending to your relationships? This includes your relationship with self. Retrace your steps. Look for wisdom, support and guidance returning to support you. Speak your truth and get your needs met in healthy, potent ways. Put your needs first and notice how the universe conspires to support you and your choices. Connect, create, communicate and clarify. New Moon Creative Ritual: 1) Using craypas, paints or pencils, create an image of your nourishment. What does nourishment feel like for you? Create an image that expresses this feeling using colors, textures and shapes. Allow 20 minutes at minimum for this nourishment image. Title your image. 2) Use your image to inspire a movement exploration. Let your body move in response to your nourishment image with an intention of "moving with your feelings of nourishment". What sensations emerge for you during your dance? What awareness? Allow 5 to 10 minutes for this movement exploration. I encourage you to extend this time frame as you recycle this process. 3) Harvesting. In your journal answer these questions: I am, I want, I need, I sense, I feel, I imagine. What deeply nourishes me? What no longer nourishes me? Where do I feel support in my life? Where do I need more support? What am I opening to? What am I closing to?
