The second New Moon of July occurs on the 31st at 21:13 MT just hours before August begins. Moon lands in its own sign, Cancer, transiting Pushya nakshatra at the time of emptiness. Cancer is full right now with Sun, Venus, and debilitated Mars- navigating this emotional, watery sign. Mercury has momentarily dipped back into Gemini, but will return to Cancer within days. Jupiter gives his gaze to Cancer, his sign of exaltation, gifting this intense combination of planets with some much needed sattva and wisdom. Pushya nakshatra is ruled by Brihaspati, another name for Jupiter, giver of nourishment and powerful support through wisdom. This star supports balance through expansion and contraction, opening and closing. It is an important time to acknowledge grief, undigested emotions and struggles, while also gathering the necessary support, wisdom and clarity necessary for more nourishment in your life. Open your hear and clarify your emotional body wisdom. Cancer is the sign of all things emotional body, as well as mother, heart, land and home. Watery insights and deep feelings emerge with this sign. Use the cycle ahead to be honest with your emotions. Clear and release undigested or stagnant grief. Gather support, guidance and wisdom for healing and transformation. Acknowledge boundary work and what needs are surfacing. What needs to be restructured in your relationships so you can receive more nourishment? Where are you saying YES where you should be saying NO? What important wisdom is your emotional body trying to tell you? Be proactive and make sure your action steps align with your deepest needs. Creative RitualThis Creative Ritual will also help you work directly with your challenges- emotion or otherwise. Take your challenge into your creative process and see what develops! Step #1 Movement Exploration. What emotion are you feeling? Is it anger, depression, frustration, chaos, uncertainty? Start dancing this emotion. What does it feel like in your body? Do the "dance of anger" for example. What emerges as you do your anger dance?! Remember to let sounds out! Move and develop your dance for at least minutes. When you feel a sense of closure, ask yourself these questions: I sense, I feel, I imagine. Step #2 Create an image of your emotion. What does it feel like? Put it on paper using colors, textures and shapes. Create an image that expresses your experience with this emotion and whatever emerged in your dance. Spend at least 5 to 20 minutes creating this image. I suggest using paints or craypas and a large piece of paper. Title your image. In your journal or on the back of the drawing answer this question: If your image could speak what would it say? Step #3 Harvesting. Answer these baseline statements and questions in your journal once you have completed the previous steps. I am___ I want___ I need___ What am I opening to? What am I closing to? Recycle this process whenever strong emotions emerge. Remember they arrive to give you important messages. Listen carefully and honor them with deeper listening. What is the emotions telling you? What do you need for deeper nourishment in your life? AUGUST DHARMA CHALLENGE

The two week eclipse portal closes with a powerful Cancer full Moon and total solar eclipse. Emotions are bigger than normal, inner waves more extreme, and lunar intelligence at peak levels. This waxing cycle has brought challenges to the surface for re-evaluation. Your shadows have been intensifying parts of yourself that need greater awareness. It's time for an upgrade and a change in direction. Are you ready to pivot? The challenges surfacing are likely not new issues emerging, but rather old parts of yourself that have been ignored. Without intensification they likely won't get the attention that is required for transformation and healing. Now that your pain and discomfort has your focused attention, what needs to shift? Have you been paying attention to your shadow parts? What do you need to shift or change in your approach? What does your pain tell you about your deeper needs? On Sunday the 20th, the full Moon arrives at 22:16 MT while Moon is transiting its own sign, Cancer, and Pushya nakshatra. The lunar eclipse will already be under way. This total lunar eclipse begins at 19:36 PM and will complete at 00:48 MT on the 21st. The maximum eclipse occurs at 22:12 MT. This particular eclipse will be visible from Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean and the Arctic. From a Vedic perspective, it is not advised to be outside during an eclipse or to look directly at the eclipse. Wear a head covering if you have to be outside so you don't absorb the shadow. Ideally, this is a time for spiritual practices such as meditation, chanting and fasting. Set intentions and honor the sensitivity of this time. It is also widely recognized that during and between eclipses, starting new endeavors will not bring positive results. No new projects, relationships or activities should start in the eclipse portal. Notice what needs are arriving, then take action after the eclipse portal closes. Best to lay low, attend to spiritual pursuits, get extra rest and work with your inner shadow very consciously during this cycle. At the time of the full Moon, multiple planets give their gaze to the Moon. North shadow node, Rahu, conjuncts Moon- causing intensification of the emotional body as well as confusion, uncertainty and shadowed intelligence. Making big decisions leading up to the eclipse (and even days afterward) is not ideal. Jupiter, Mercury, Ketu and Sun give their drishti to the Moon at the time of the full Moon and eclipse. Moon energy is expansive yet distracted. Take time to ground, go slow and simplify your steps. This is not a time to push, force or take risks. In the days following the eclipse, you will likely notice a release, purging and clearing taking place. Expect some break through or new awareness to emerge. The clouds will part, the veil will lift, and the shadow will lessen. This is an important time to pay attention to needs that are surfacing and refocus. It's time for a life upgrade! Where are you playing small, or allowing victim behavior to disempower you? Release the lack, uncertainty and resistance to change. What steps can you take to move closer to your dreams, goals and desires? Pushya nakshatra is notorious for bringing the nourishment. The coming cycle can support you with gains- if you make space for them. Your willingness to clear and purge your shadows and wounds, will allow you to hold the new and invite in more of what you need. Wisdom, guidance, universal support and abundance comes with Pushya nakshatra. It is a benevolent star that allows for needs to be met. However, effort and alignment are required. Remember that needs can not be met if you do not know what they are. It's time to expand and ask for your big desires! Clarify needs, ask for your needs to be met, and be prepared to receive them. Your willingness to get clear will determine your capacity to attract, align and be more fully nourished. In the coming cycle, gains and growth present themselves. Say yes to expansion, increase and resources that support and strengthen your deep sense of nourishment. It's ok to ask for more of what you need. You are enough and you deserve the nourishment of life! Wondering what to focus on in 2019? Read my Sidereal Horoscopes. Creative Ritual PART #1 1) If I could do anything I wanted without the fear of failure what would it be? 2) What is stopping me right now from taking the first step? 3) How can I overcome what is stopping me? PART #2 Where do you want to be six months from now?! Step 1: Write down your vision. Journal it into your full awareness. Step 2: Create your vision. Draw, paint or collage your vision into form. Give it a title. Step 3: Harvest your vision. If your image could speak to you, what would it say?! Step 4: Make your vision a reality. What steps need to take place for your vision to become a reality six months from now?! What action step can you take today?! Are You Ready for More?! Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The July new Moon awakens nourishment, wisdom and support from the guru as Moon transits Cancer and Pushya nakshatra at the time of the New Moon. At 03:46 am on July 23rd, Sun, Moon and Mars collide in Brihaspati's domain, inviting in support from the sacred. Moon in its own sign of Cancer, softens the heart and increases a sense of emotional body balance. Spiritual awareness will help increase new understanding and deeper compassion. Sudden emotional shifts are likely and sensitivity is high. Protect yourself and find ways to land within consciously. The coming cycle brings a powerful heart opening process that requires some storms to clear and open the channels. Find the balance between release and healing. What needs to be let go of in order to create space for the new? Brihaspati's nakshatra, Pushya, is a a constellation ruled by the structure and constriction of Saturn, and yet Brihaspati is the personification of Jupiter and his expansive, spiritual nature. When the energy of Saturn and Jupiter align, ultimate integration is awakened. Seek integration and alignment between your polarities in the coming cycle. The interesting thing about this nakshatra is its seemingly contradictory rulers. Brihaspati is the deity who governs this lunar constellation. Essentially he is the personification of Jupiter, the expansive, nourishing, wisdom giver. However, the planetary ruler of Pushya is Saturn, the contractive, slow, grief inducing planet. As the nourishing star, this nakshatra reminds us of the importance of balance. Both expansion and contraction are vital for any real balance to be experienced. Cancer is the sign Pushya resides in, which is the seat of our emotional body and heart, and the home to our inhale and exhale as well as trust in life. Pushya reminds us that the ultimate nourishing breath of life comes with both openings and closings. Healthy boundaries that include yes and no, being a part of this process. As the nourishing star, this nakshatra supports nourishment that comes with balance- honoring the open and close of life and death, inhale and exhale, joy and pain. Integrating our polarities, both shadow and light, are essential in order for maximum nourishment from life. Nourishment comes with balance and healthy boundaries. Inner and outer needs must be integrated and harmonized. Where do you need more balance with inner and outer? Use your heart to calibrate your needs and choices. Keep landing back in your heart wisdom, your emotional body, and listen carefully. There is depth and awakening available to those who listen to the wisdom of heart and breath in this waxing cycle. Balance, breath and heart wisdom, opens and closes in the coming weeks. Though Pushya is the nourishing star, a provider of support, wisdom and holding, it often arrives after some release and letting go; just as the exhale allows the inhale. Take time for landing in your heart and breath in the coming cycle and use your breath to arrive in the now. Open the heart and release the pain. What are you opening to? What are you closing to? Creative Ritual Expanding our container, our capacity to hold and to release, can physically and metaphorically be done through the breath. New Moon in Cancer and Pushya nakshatra, is allowing us to align with our heart, work intentionally with the emotional body- our capacity to feel- while also giving us new opportunities to work with healthy boundaries. The open and close dynamic of boundary work (yes and no) is signified by our inhale and exhale. Below is a breath dance, designed to enliven and maximize your breath awareness and your container for sensing and feeling. 1. Breath Dance. Begin standing, lying down or sitting. Bring your awareness to your breath as it moves in and out of your body. Filling and letting go, opening and releasing, like waves moving in and out of the body. Track the movements and sensations in the body and let these guide you. The sensations will guide you into the physical body impulses, the messages of the body. As you continue to breathe and become more and more aware of the movements of the ribcase, let these movements exaggerate. These exaggerated movements are the making of your "breath dance". Continue to move from and with the movements of the ribcase as you breath. Explore, expand and develop your breath dance for at least 10 minutes. Let it evolve and as it does, continue to self track, noticing the body parts most alive and awake as you explore your body part sensations present. As you bring your breath dance to a close, ask yourself these questions: I sense, I feel, I imagine. 2. Create an image of your heart and ribcase. What colors, textures, shapes and images arrive on the page as you draw your ribcase? I encourage you to get your hands involved in this process whether it be through painting directly with your hands, or smudging the craypas with your fingers. Let the hands be sensitized through the process. Get messy. Let the hands and fingers fully engage in this image. (Working with clay may be an alternate medium to work with). Title your image. Take at least 15 minutes for this. 3. Harvesting. When your image is complete, use it to harvest with further inquiry by asking it these questions: Ask your image if it has anything it would like to share with you: If your image could speak, what would it say? I am I want I need What am I opening to? What am I closing to? I am on a mission to help sensitive souls connect with their inner truth and inner wisdom. To connect with purpose and dharma.
