How Prepared Are You For This?Just after the May full Moon, an unusual series of retrograde planets kicks off- sparking many months of re-balancing, clean up, intensification, and shadow work. Two of the most important planets, Saturn and Jupiter, have lengthy retrogrades starting this month- which will bring lasting changes and important insights for life and purpose. Because they are both slow moving, their impact is much more powerful. Saturn retrogrades for five months in Capricorn, starting on May 10th. He won't go direct until end of September. This is an important time to clean up grief, structure, support, systems, and your dharmic offerings- or career if you are not sharing your dharmic gifts. Saturn doesn't tolerate excess or messiness so clean up the disorder in your life and start simplifying! Jupiter is currently in Capricorn as well, beginning his retrograde motion on May 13th, returning to his own sign Sagittarius on June 29th. He continues to move in reverse until mid September. Whatever you missed these past months on your dharmic path, Jupiter will be requesting more of your awareness this time around. This Jupiter retrograde is a vital transit for your path and purpose, for spirituality, and cleaning up impurities in your life. You will need more support, focused guidance, and a very clear intention for this next phase. Don't make the mistake of staying stuck where you are and refusing to take effective action. This transit is asking you to take a different approach in order for very different results. This opportunity won't come again. Jupiter does not tolerate adharma, so notice where he is nudging you to align more fully with your dharmic path. Venus starts his return process on May 13th, continuing his transit through his own sign, Taurus. He will retrograde until June 25th, offering an unusually lengthy transit through one of his favorite signs. He won't enter Gemini until July 31st. All retrograde planets are asking us to pay closer attention and attend to parts of ourselves and our lives that are challenged or imbalanced. Venus will be asking you to focus on the material world- finances, nourishment, wealth, speaking, manifesting, bringing desires into form. Relationships, love, and sensuality will request attention as well. What needs to change in order for you to feel more nourished in your life? Later in June Mercury will retrograde as well. For a short time, four planets will be moving in reverse. Retrograde planets act like the shadow nodes Rahu and Ketu. That means they bring extremes, chaos, distortion, and intensification. Be mindful that things often have to intensify so we can see them more fully. Wherever we've been ignoring the truth, bypassing or avoiding reality, the intensification can help us re-focus and re-align with more clarity and insight. Notice where you are receiving a pinch in your life and take effective action. It's an important time to make necessary adjustments, and make new choices that support the outcome you desire. Rarely do we get such a powerful opportunity to clean up all areas of our life simultaneously. Thanks to Saturn, Jupiter, Venus and even Mercury, you will be asked to do many layers of clean up at the same time. Be vigilant! Never miss my Moon Wisdom, transit reports, or horoscopes! Lord Vishnu rules this phase of the Moon and invites us to align with dharma, right action and that which sustains our soul's purpose, our highest truth. Saturn has just landed in Mula nakshatra and Sagittarius for the majority of 2017, causing adharma (that which is against dharma) as well as increased chaos, calamity and uncertainty. This is a time of great unmasking, a powerful opportunity for awakening from the illusions and shadows that keep you in the dark. Don't play small. Rise to the occasion! Stay close to your body and breath. Read more about Saturn in Sagittarius. This week, Mercury moves to Capricorn and Jupiter will retrograde Changes for the mind and spirit arrive. Monday, January 30th Moon in 3rd tithi Tritiya Late morning on Monday, Moon shifts to Purvabhadra nakshatra, where Ajaikapada brings preparatory steps for awakening and removing veils of ignorance. There is a poignant one pointed focus with this constellation. A focus and determination to meet the mark, yet often without the action necessary to achieve the goal. This is a preparatory nakshatra, more than an achievement oriented constellation. There is a need for preservation, holding, attending to, and especially pausing in stillness. Today is a day of preparation. Find clarity about your needs and next steps. What action still need to be taken in order for your success, in order for your desired outcome to be achieved? Pause, lean in and listen. Tuesday, January 31st Moon in 4th tithi Chaturthi Just before noon, Moon arrives in UttaraBhadra nakshatra, the domain of Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the deep, unconscious inner terrain. As a naga (a positive serpent), Ahirbudhnya supports deep dives into your darkness, bringing pearls of wisdom to the surface, to your conscious mind. Moon conjuncts Mars and Venus, receiving direct gaze from Jupiter who is currently at the very edge of Virgo. What are you learning about release and letting go? What emotions are holding you back, keeping you frozen and locked in old patterns and behaviors? Look closely at your feelings, as they lead the way to uncovering parts of yourself that are stuck, resistant or avoiding change. Wednesday, February 1st Moon in 5th tithi Panchami Late morning, Moon shifts to the final nakshatra of the zodiac, Revati. This is Pushan's domain, who nourishes and provides resources for long journeys. He protects, guides and helps you align with your right path, so that you can gather the necessary resources and support along the way. Mercury rules this constellation, giving a nod to the mental body, the mind. Working diligently with the mind is vital for being in right relationship with your receptivity, your ability to receive. Where are you denying or resisting more nourishment? What stories are keeping you stuck in lack? If you want to receive the nourishment, you must clear away your resistance to the receiving. Jupiter is at the very edge of Virgo right now, a poignant place for intensifying the attributes of Virgo and the expression of Jupiter. The 29th degree always increases the impact and effects of the sign and planet placed there. Right now, Jupiter (planet of wisdom and guidance) is intensifying Virgo's need for order, discipline, clarity and focus. Lack of clarity and certainty is challenging and overwhelming. With the chaos being provoked by Saturn in Sagittarius right now, there are ample reasons to feel ungrounded and imbalanced. For now, continue to align with your inner truth. Where do you feel this truth in your body? Listen for messages. Thursday, February 2nd Moon in 6th tithi Sashthi Early Thursday morning, Moon leaps through the gandanta (the gap) between endings and beginnings- Pisces to Aries. Gandantas are karmic knots that require uprooting and releasing parts of yourself that are stuck, stagnant and need to be released. The three gandantas of the zodiac often bring turmoil and chaos as parts of you are transformed, released and awakening to change. This is an ending and a beginning. What are you leaving behind? What are you opening to? As Moon arrives in Aries, it enters Ashwini nakshatra, a portion of the sky that supports healing and rejuvenation. Attend to self care diligently today. What resources are supporting you? How can you ground, land and establish more inner resiliency? Friday, February 3rd Moon in 7th tithi Saptami Mid morning, Moon moves to the second constellation of the zodiac, Bharani. Yama brings his transformation and restraint to this domain of the heavens. He requires clarity, order and simplicity, while also offering immense strength and power. The symbol of this nakshatra is the yoni, suggesting both vulnerability and incredible creative potential, as well as pleasure and vitality. Clarify your desires today, then work backwards. What do you need to do in order to activate and align with your highest power, purpose and potential? What is in the way of your success? Release and let go of anything in your way. Get clear on your action steps and move forward. Just as Friday begins, Mercury lands in Capricorn at 00:33 MST, joining Sun here. Both receive gaze from Jupiter, which offers a soft landing and increased wisdom during the transit. Mind sharpens, as Mercury leaves the gaze of Rahu. This cycle presents and opportunity for expanding the heart, while also finding strength and clarity with your needs, purpose and inner awareness. Cut away the excess, get laser focused on your needs and desires. Notice where you are allowing yourself to get distracted and sabotage your success. You'll need clear action steps in this cycle in order to maximize the potency and power of it. What needs to be clarified in order for you to succeed? The chaos and overwhelm is a choice. When you decide to get really clear and align with your inner order, you will also find your inner truth. Your only job is to honor this truth arriving and support it with clear, focused actions steps. Read more about Mercury in Capricorn Saturday, February 4th Moon in 8th tithi Ashtami Mid morning, Moon shifts to Krittika nakshatra, which aligns with Agni, the fire of life. Agni brings cutting, clarifying and purification through burning. There is heat in the process of change and transformation, which supports the alchemy process. Just after noon, Moon shifts into its exaltation sign, Taurus, becoming exalted. Waves of emotion are high, feelings intensify, requesting you to change and transform from the emotional body. Jupiter gives his gaze to the Moon, expanding and swelling the feelings arriving. What are you noticing within your emotional body? What emotions are rising to the surface in order for you to look more closely? What needs to be cleared, transformed and released? Allow the waves to come and let the purge take place. Then find the calm, your grounding on the other side. Sunday, February 5th Moon in 9th tithi Navami Sunday morning, Moon moves to Rohini nakshatra, the powerfully creative star with immense potential for manifestation. Lord Brahma rules this domain of the sky and by default goddess Saraswati is awakened here as well. Both the masculine and feminine principles of creativity, manifestation and inner wisdom, together, god and goddess create the perfect blend of inner potential. From this potential, all possibilities arrive. Align with your Creative Intelligence, your inner spark of Shakti. Allow yourself to shine, be seen and thrive. What are your greatest desires, your most potent potential? What is your soul's truth? Take steps today that help you succeed. What is blocking your immense creative potential? What is keeping you from fully aligning with your purest essence, your life force energy? Why play small, when all possibilities are available and within your reach? All that is standing in your way is you. Monday, February 6th Moon in 10th tithi Dashami Moon lands in Mrigashirsha nakshatra just as Monday begins. This is the Moon's constellation, which enlivens Soma, the divine nectar of life. There is growth, ojas and immense creative power available in this portion of the sky. Through extending and expanding your reach, you will find the nourishment, the resources and resilience to thrive, succeed and become deeply nourished. Moon has entered its mulitrikona degrees, which still expresses strength and power from the emotional body. Jupiter expands and increases this feeling level. Where are you playing small and resisting the nourishment of life? What part of you is too afraid to take a powerful leap forward? Look carefully and notice where you are holding yourself back. Reach towards resources that support your full potential, your deepest nourishment. Just before midnight, Jupiter begins his retrograde motion back through Virgo. Jupiter will be retrograde until June 9th. Retrograde planets increase in strength, intensifying their indications. This transit of Jupiter through Virgo, is provoking the need for clarity, certainty, purpose and alignment with your highest ideals. There is a certain naivety and innocence that is available- for better or worse. Read more about Jupiter and Virgo and its impact on your rising sign. * All timing is Mountain Standard Time.

Jupiter transits are one year long and impact all levels of wisdom, knowledge, comfort and support. He leads you to your dharmic path and supports the nourishment gained along the way. Positive effects of Jupiter, or Guru in Sanskrit, bring comfort, support and understanding. He brings learning through understanding, awareness and expansion of consciousness. He is the ultimate teacher- for better or worse- providing some of the most poignant life lessons. Challenges with Jupiter include lack of support, knowledge, and dharma. Everyone can benefit from the helpful and supportive resources that Jupiter provides. Without his support, challenges and struggles increase- which often bring tragedy, trauma and chaos. The past year, Jupiter has transited through Leo. Half of this transit he has been conjunct Rahu. These energies oppose each other in dramatic ways. Jupiter is sattvic, pure and supports expanded dharma. Rahu is rajasic and brings base level human experiences, cravings and desires. It has been a conflict between light and dark forces on multiple levels- effecting ego, power, the masculine as well as father issues and relationships. As Jupiter moves out of Leo, he also moves away from Rahu, releasing and finalizing much of the masculine conflicts that have been unleashed in the past few months. Jupiter can step back into his role as the benefic, nourishing support that he is inclined to provide. Rahu will continue to work your ego, masculine and power issues acutely, but Jupiter can now offer his stability and support on a mental body level as he transits through Mercury's sign, Virgo, in the coming year. Virgo carries the effects of the sixth house of healing with it and provides qualities of this challenging, yet dynamic house. The sixth house notoriously causes conflict, challenge and battles. It is the house of enemies, yet through enemies you can learn, grow and awaken your biggest shadows. Debts and financial challenges are also seen by the sixth house. Not surprisingly, Virgo is connected to commerce, money, communication and connections through the market place. The sixth house is also the seat of the lower gut, an essential part of the digestion process. It connects to hired help, workers, those in service, pets and bad habits. All competition is seen from this house as well as adversaries, competitors, obstacles and vices. Since Virgo correlates to the sixth house by default and is ruled by Mercury, the mental body, worries and anxieties are also seen from this house. The sixth house is also connected to the Left Prefrontal Cortex of the brain which is the seat of intuitive thinking or impressions. Literally "gut" reactions. This part of the brain effects mood regulation, motivation, mental diseases, worries, anxieties and mental body functions. This cycle will directly impact the mental body, mind and communication of all realms- including intuition, energetic, language, word and senses. Communication is a key theme for this Jupiter transit. Expand your ability to communicate- how you share, who you share with and what you share. Speaking is especially impacted by this transit as well as the voice, singing and by default music. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication- verbal, written and creative. He is highly creative and supports all of the arts, including the healing arts. Virgo brings healing through creativity, connection and co-creation. This sign also supports the market place, commerce and all things connected to money and finances. Expanded Creativity and Self Expression This year of Jupiter moving through Virgo will expand earth based energies, mainly the material realms. Any resistance to creating, manifesting and enlivening what you want on the earth plane will come to the forefront. As Virgo connects to the sixth house of healing and the mental body, it is also a prime opportunity to heal and transform any blockages or limiting beliefs keeping you from bringing your desires into form. This includes financial and monetary blockages. Debts and the limiting beliefs connected to your lack, scarcity and resistance to being nourished must be addressed more closely. There is a lot of expansion available with creativity, healing and manifesting in this cycle. What resources do you need to maximize this transit? What support and guidance is missing for you right now? Where are you stuck, resistant, avoiding or neglecting your dreams, visions and creativity? Simultaneously, life force energy will be delicate and require your attention and focus. The lower gut will be a primary focus for healing and transforming challenges into resources. Use the wisdom of your stomach to support this process and help you awaken and heal more fully. Clean up diet and what you ingest. You stomach may be more sensitive at this time. Part of this cycle may also kick up addictions with food, drugs and alcohol, so be mindful of your relationship with excess and seek healing support for old shadows that emerge around nourishment. Virgo brings to the light purification and puritanical beliefs. Jupiter's sattvic nature can also increase puritanical belief systems, mythologies around perfection and shadows that perpetuate idealism. Jupiter is spiritual, while Virgo is more centered around the human, mundane part of existence. Thus the integration and balance between spiritual and material realms will continue to inspire and invoke personal development and healing for all this year. What is your relationship with perfection? How does this story provoke a resistance to deeper nourishment and support? What does your perfection tell you about your needs for safety and support? Watch for overly idealistic attitudes and dogmas that keep you locked in unrealistic mindsets that perpetuate scarcity. Since perfection is unattainable on a gross, human level, these beliefs actually suppress and negate your true needs, keeping you resistant to receiving the true nourishment you need. It's time to look at these beliefs and dogmas that are holding you back. This will take a radical and realistic approach to working with spirit and shadow. Look out for spiritual bypassing and where you are avoiding chaos and messiness. Use this cycle to get into right-relationship with your shadow and light in a more integrated and balanced way. Jupiter Retrograde Just before midnight on February 5th, Jupiter begins his retrograde motion back through Virgo for five months. Jupiter will be retrograde until June 9th, 2017. Retrograde planets increase in strength, intensifying their indications- acting like the nodes Rahu and Ketu who are always moving in reverse. This transit of Jupiter through Virgo, is provoking the need for clarity, certainty, purpose and alignment with your highest ideals. There is a certain naivety and innocence that is available- for better or worse. This five month retrograde motion of Jupiter brings a re-evaluation of our convictions. Virgo is known to be idealistic and often naive in those convictions. What needs to be addressed and recognized within you? What needs to be healed and transformed in order for you to expand your potential and purpose? Retrograde Jupiter has a tendency to be fastidious about cleaning things up. Jupiter in Virgo will make this desire doubly so as this is the sign of healing, confrontation and courage to change. Retrograde Jupiter is also notorious for wanting to fix and "do it better". At the risk of activating co-dependency, make sure you are in right-relationship with this need to fix. If you are trying to heal someone else, you are wasting your time. If you are willing to heal yourself, this is a good use of your effort and energy. Make sure you're in right-relationship with any desires to fix others. There may be underlying control issues at play. The majority of this retrograde dance will be with Jupiter moving back through Chitra nakshatra, Vishva Karma's domain. The remaining 1.5 months of the retrograde dance, Hasta nakshatra will be activated. This is a foundational transit which supports building blocks, potent action steps and support sustainable change and a strong foundation. Once Jupiter lands back in Hasta, more awareness, awakening and light will enliven. Make your steps count and don't lose sight of your visions, goals and highest truths. Gather resources, support and guidance to awaken deeper wisdom and inner knowing. If Jupiter is a natural benefic in your chart, this transit will bring natural gains, expansion and support in the areas of healing, creativity, commerce and communication. However, If Jupiter is challenging in your jyotish chart, expect difficulties in these areas of your life to surface. Depending on where Virgo is situated in your chart, there may or may not be mitigating factors. I will share general guidelines for each sign in my horoscopes below. Please consult with me directly for more chart specific guidelines. Jupiter in Virgo Horoscopes |
