September New Moon Wisdom + Creative Ritual

Picture

The September new Moon arrives on the 9th, just after midnight. This Leo new Moon occurs at 12:02 am MT while Moon is in Purvaphalguni nakshatra. As the Moon waxes and expands in the cycle ahead, comforts, nourishment and relationships come to the forefront.

Sun and Moon both transit Purvaphalguni nakshatra in Sidereal Leo at the time of the new Moon, receiving gaze from Mars. Mercury is also transiting Leo and currently in Magha nakshatra. The gaze from Mars empowers Sun, Moon and Mercury, while clarifying and strengthening desires and action steps. Leo is ruled by the Sun and notorious for bold expression. With Sun in its own sign right now, we may be feeling a surge in power, determination and strength. Put your focus into action, awaken goals and ask for what you need.

The New Moon in Leo and Purvaphalguni invites increased creativity and sensuality to the cycle ahead. There is strong desire, empowerment and attention to relationships surfacing. Clear away emotional debris and make space for gains and advancements in your feeling center, the heart. As you clarify goals and intentions, make sure you are also being diligent with the action steps necessary to accomplish them. Watch for overdoing, pushing and forcing as well as imbalance with action and rest. Allow for leisure, increased pleasure, nourishment and ease but be mindful of overindulgence. Cravings are rooted in the shadow.

What darkness is not being attended to with honesty and courage? Where can you let go and find more surrender? Where are you pushing and forcing, creating imbalance and incongruence?

Purvaphalguni nakshatra is ruled by Bhaga, the god of pleasure, comforts and commodities. He gives excess, abundance and juiciness. Sensuality and sexuality come naturally as a result of his gifts and influence. Manifestation is enlivened with his life force energy. This constellation is like the nectar that bees flock to, expressing a spring-like quality with plenty of blossoming and fruiting. The sap is flowing, the bees are buzzing and the flowers are blooming! Can you feel it? Beauty comes alive within this portion of the sky and potential is dawning. Relationships are energized and strengthened with the influences of this constellation. Plant your seeds of desire, expand your dreams and focus on the bigger picture.

Maybe it's time to ask for what you really want and need? Where are you receiving less than what you deserve? What is keeping you from rising and growing? Where are you resisting your power and greater purpose?

This cycle reminds us:

Don't settle for less than the best. Ask Nature to support your clarity and vision. Think bigger and be clear about your desires. Get focused and expand your reach. Use creative resources to awaken your life force energy. Make art! Dance and sing! Celebrate yourself! Meet new people, start new relationships, enliven the ones you already have. Allow more sensuality and sexuality into your life and let your life force energy flow more fully. Spend time receiving and remember your gratitude. Where do you feel abundant already? Where do you need more? Remember that getting the support you need and being able to receive, will strengthen your results. We don't succeed alone- ever! Gather who and what you need for growth.

Creative Ritual

Create A Life of Thriving With These Five Steps:

Step #1

Write a list of all the things you are grateful for. List the people, experiences and parts of your life that truly make you feel glad to be alive. Are you grateful for your health? Your children? Your garden? Your amazing clients? Put it on the list!

Step #2

As you look at your gratitude list, pause and be still. Where do you feel the sensation of gratitude in your body? Can you feel it rising up from your belly or spreading across your chest? Try to locate the sensation and clearly identify it.

Use this physical body feeling as a tuning fork. Keep coming back to this sensation as a way to touch in with the feeling of thriving and nourishment. More of that please! This is what you want to create more of in your life!

Step #3

Create an image of this feeling of gratitude and the sensation of nourishment it brings into your body. Use craypas, paints, collage, pen and ink or any other medium that inspires you.  Use colors, textures and shapes to create your image. Take 20+ minutes to create your image then give it a title.

Step #4

Move your image. Use your image to inspire a movement exploration. Let your body move in response to your nourishment image with an intention of "moving with your feelings of nourishment".  What sensations emerge for you during your dance? What awareness? Allow 5 to 10 minutes for this movement exploration.

Step #5

Harvest in your journal some of your key findings from this process. Answer these statements:

I sense___
I feel____
I imagine____

Bonus Step:

Pick a few people to share your gratitude with. The best way to amplify this feeling is to share it with others! Use post it notes for a quick thank you or get more elaborate and write out a love note to someone special. Write a sweet message of gratitude to your child or give your neighbor a friendly mailbox surprise.

Full Moon Wisdom + Creative Ritual

2/27/2018

Picture

The March Full Moon arrives on the first day of March at 17:51, coinciding with the Vedic fertility festival of Holi, enlivening vitality, life force energy and creativity. This Full Moon is in sidereal Leo and Purvaphalguni nakshatra- which powerfully correlates to sexuality, sensuality, relationships and creative life force energy. This portion of the sky expresses the essence of spring- fragrant flowers blossoming, bees buzzing and the sap beginning to flow.

Purvaphalguni nakshatra is ruled by Bhaga, the deity of enjoyment and pleasure. He supports sensuality and feeling through relating. His role is to spark relationships, connection and co-creation. He especially supports sensuality and sexuality. However, he is not what sustains or supports long term relationship success. He represents the fun, exciting beginning, not the hard work and time it takes to make a relationship last. What new seeds are sprouting right now? What relationships do you need for greater support and nourishment?

This Full Moon also marks the Holi celebration in the Vedic calendar, which often roughly coincides with the vernal equinox and the arrival of spring (for the Northern Hemisphere). The equinox arrives on March 20th this year. Holi is a Vedic fertility celebration, sparking immense life force energy, potential and creative power to enliven. Step into your Divine Feminine power!

No matter the hemisphere you are in, both spring and fall are considered "sandhi" times of year- or in between seasons. These are sacred times, when the veil is thin, sensitivity is heightened, and in Ayurveda we attend to necessary physical rituals that help the body cleanse and purify. Holi comes at this sacred junction and is a time to "plant seeds" so to speak. It is a celebration of fertility, abundance and the awakening of Shakti within Nature. This full enlivening of Ma, the Divine Mother, is celebrated during Vasant Navaratri- the nine days of Mother Divine beginning March 17th this year. We can consider this her "kick off" celebration as we plant our desires and create our fruits. Let this Full Moon bring you a sense of spring and possibility, hope and awakening.

In the coming cycle, expand your emotional body container. Your ability to feel all your feelings- hard or soft- allows you to create room for your deepest desires and nourishment. Without honoring the shadow, the light cannot arrive. Relationships take your focus and attention. A flood of new connections is arriving. Who are you inviting into your sacred space? Who and what needs to be released, cleared and let go of?

Clear undigested grief from your gut, your solar plexus and your power center. Eat clean, simple foods and avoid excess- sweets, intoxicants, alcohol, sex and spending. Release overindulgence and seek balance, integration and stability. This will make room for increased energy, strength and vitality. Put focused attention on restoration and rejuvenation, as well as healing practices. Release shadow, darkness and limiting beliefs to clear the path for your dharmic clarity and unfolding. Strengthen your health, vitality and endurance. What action steps, choices and behaviors need an upgrade in order for you to have more power, strength and clarity in your body mind?

An opening is taking place. Take conscious steps towards new doors of nourishment.

Creative Ritual

My Creative Rituals are intended to support your transformation and healing process in the cycle to come. Each ritual is in alignment with the cosmic tides- in order to help you adjust, shift and move more fluidly in balance with Nature's rhythms. Recycle this ritual more than once for added benefits.

Similar to exalted planets in that they are "full" and can't be "added to", a Full Moon (or Purnima) means that it is full to capacity, there's no more room for it to expand and grow; it is complete. In this way, we can interpret the Full Moon as a "New Moon" in that it marks the beginning of a new cycle of emptying itself and refilling itself (mirroring our internal process).

Beginning a lunar month at the Purnima is called Suklanta and differs from starting the count from the New Moon (Amavasya) which is the point when the Moon is empty and is waiting to be filled by the Sun.

Purnima is in the middle of the Lakshmi phase of the Moon cycle whereas Amavasya is the moment during the cycle where Kali and Durga meet. Clearly, the energy is quite different; mirrored in our internal experience as well.

These different methods of starting the lunar calendar remind me of the saying "is your glass half empty or half full?!" When do we start our "New Moon" calendar and begin our new lunar month? When we are full and satisfied or when we are empty and needing to be nourished? It is with this question in mind that I came up with this week's Creative Engagement Activity. Read more about the importance of the Moon.

Often for a New Moon or a Full Moon, I like to work with the image of a mandala. Mandalas help us to create and express fullness, to fill empty space, to work with what is. Mandalas are a container, filled, with our visions, creativity and desire- much like a metaphor for life.

1) With this idea of "creating within a container" as well as half the image of full/empty, I invite you to draw two large circle shapes on a piece of paper. Cover up one of the circles with a sheet of paper while you create within the other.

2) The theme for this first circle is "being filled". Fill in the first circle with what you desire for the cycle to come. What do you want to be filled with?

3) When you feel complete with the first circle, look at both circles on your paper.
One is "full" and one is "empty". What thoughts come to you? What feelings?
Then answer these statements under your first circle:

I am, I want, I need

4) Next, begin working on the second circle. The theme for this circle is "being emptied".
What are you releasing and letting go of as you move into the cycle to come?

5) When you feel complete, write a few notes down. What do you notice as you look at the entire piece? What thoughts come to you? What feelings?

Then answer these statements under your first circle:
I am, I want, I need

6) Finally, harvest your thoughts on this process. Circle ten words that leap out at you from the writing you've done. Form these words into a three to five line poem. (Adding extra words is ok).

Share your poem below!

* Extra credit for dancing (embodying) your images and poem at some point this week.

September New Moon + Solar Eclipse Wisdom + Creative Ritual

8/28/2016

Picture

Moon shifts into Purvaphalguni nakshatra just before Thursday, September 1st begins, moving into the domain of Bhaga, the resource and pleasure provider. At 03:03, the new Moon officially arrives, bringing an emptiness and release with it. The new Moon is in sidereal Leo and Purvaphalguni nakshatra, coinciding with the annual solar eclipse.

This particular solar eclipse will not be visible in North America, but will touch Southern Asia, Western Australia, Much of Africa, the Atlantic, Indian Ocean and Antarctica. The eclipse will begin at 00:13 MDT on the 1st and continue until 06:00 am, with the maximum eclipse occurring at 03:01 am MDT. Eclipses are a time to meditate and do spiritual practices. From a Vedic perspective, it is not advised to be outside during an eclipse, nor start new projects during the eclipse portal (the two week gap between solar and lunar eclipses).

The new Moon day, is an inward, lunar day which will require emotional body attention. Plant seeds and attend to your creativity in gentle, intentional ways. Bhaga supports the senses- sensuality, creativity, feelings, resources and that which brings pleasure and passion. He brings resources and grants your desires into form. As an Aditya (a god who brings resources and support) Bhaga shares wealth and happiness, luck and fortune, as well as blessings from past incarnations. He brings marital unions and creates love, affection, sexuality, sensuality and pleasure. The ruling planet of this constellation is Venus, currently debilitated in Virgo. This impacts the Bhaga's ability to support the resources he provides. Purvaphalguni is synonymous with the arts and all creative expression. What stirs your being and excites your spirit? Do that, but do it gently in the days to come.

Cancer is on the horizon at the time of the new Moon, provoking heart, tenderness and emotion. With Moon transiting Leo at the time of the new Moon, conjunct Sun and shadow node Rahu, big feelings and the need to express them will be themes for the coming weeks. The eclipse will make sure that this process feels extra challenging, however. Expect the shadow element to provoke stronger needs and desires. Are you in right-relationship with these needs or are they running away with you? The eclipse portal softly opened on August 18th with the Aquarius full Moon and an "almost" eclipse. This new Moon and solar eclipse kicks off the strongest portion of the eclipse portal, which won't end until the full Moon on September 18th. Remember that eclipses bring shadows to the surface so you can attend to them while also allowing a clearing and release process to take place. The healing available at this time is optional- meaning you must do the work it takes to get the job done.

This waxing cycle provokes strong articulation of words and the need for self expression. Big feelings, emotions and inner tides will provoke and activate a new awareness of self- in relation to others. There are frustrations and challenges with this self expression, which invokes a certain drama with this particular eclipse portal. Words and thoughts may not be shared poignantly. Some people may be withholding or resisting self expression all together, creating intensity and excess challenge unnecessarily. Speak from the heart- with tact and truth. Let the chips fall as they may. The necessity is for you to honor your need for self expression. Speak the sweet truth and know that your words are rooted in compassion.

Use this cycle to refine the art of communication and self expression. Strengthen your ability to articulate words so that you are honoring your feelings more accurately. What is being left unsaid? There's a tendency to be confused about feelings and emotions, resulting in not knowing what you need. If you don't know what you need, you can't express the needs. You can't get your needs met if you can't express them! This will result in dissatisfaction and either self loathing or aggravation with others. Your job is to deepen your relationship with your emotional body so that you know what you need. From here you can express these needs and learn the art of compassionate communication.

Join me for a *free* 14 Day Emotional Body Challenge! I'll be sharing resources, tools and extra guidance to navigate these choppy cosmic tides in the coming weeks. Get the Details

Relationships become a sort of guru in the coming weeks. A resource for helping you awaken and become more fulfilled. This requires your willingness and courage to explore the self more intimately and investigate all your shadows that keep you feeling disappointed, discouraged and locked in your scarcity story. Life force energy is vulnerable and requires your gentleness right now. As creative as this cycle is, it also requires your diligence and careful attention to health and inner resources. You may notice that relationships feel extra challenging in the coming weeks. Use your relationships as mirrors of your own self. Any discomfort from the "other" is an opportunity for you to look at places in yourself that are not fully aligned with your needs. Use this as a time for clean up and work with your shadow and grief very intentionally.

With all the elements of the masculine, father, power, purpose and empowerment that have been stirred and provoked over the past few months as multiple planets have moved through Leo, this new Moon marks a poignant time of closure. What themes have you been healing with your father wounds? What is your intention moving forward? How can you honor your masculine needs with action steps, clarity, creativity? What does right-relationship with your power and dharmic purpose look like? Feel like?

This can be a creative and fruitful time- if you work with it gently and slowly. Forcing outcomes will not provide fruitful results. There will be stops and starts with creative endeavors, sensuality, playfulness and relationships, so take this into consideration as challenges arrive. Your hands and voice become important resources to support digestion and assimilation as well as greater self power. Work intentionally with these body parts. Use the hands their function of open and close, grasping and releasing to integrate and awaken. The hands and voice can support your process of artful self expression.

Get innovative and think outside the box. Balance worldly and spiritual desires. Work diligently on clearing mental and emotional body blockages that negate and suppress your full creative expression. Open your channels of self expression and notice what is keeping you locked in resistance and avoidance of your full power and potential. Ask for guidance and support with this process.

Creative Ritual

With all the focus on Leo during this new Moon Solar eclipse, as well as the past months of multiple planetary passages through this sign, working with the gut is very timely. Leo correlates to the 5th house of the Jyotish chart and is connected to the solar plexus, father, intuition, playfulness and romance. The metaphors for gut have to do with digestion and assimilation as well as elimination.

What are you digesting and assimilating? How effectively do you eliminate?

You can use this Creative Ritual process for multiple levels- to support assimilation of environment, your internal/external landscapes, digestion of words, ideas and life's experiences.

The gut is connected to intuition- our "gut responses". Stomach problems are associated with "the inability to process and assimilate impressions received from our outer environment. Our ability to eliminate, or how we eliminate, is connected with the abdomen. In Eastern traditions, the belly is considered the center of the body, and the place form which a state of balance emanates. The abdomen acts as a transit area between the upper and lower areas of our body." -The Expressive Body in Life, Art and Therapy by Daria Halprin.

1) Start by using movements such as "cat and cow" and gentle spinal twists to activate the gut. Notice if your breaths are going all the way to the base of the stomach, or stopping short. Lie on your back and place your hands on your belly. Feel the gentle undulations of its rise and fall with each breath. Gently knead your gut with your fingers. Notice any sore spots or lumps? Move around the navel in a circular pattern. Stop and let your body relax and respond to the touch of your hands on your belly.

2) Movement exploration. Stand, sit or lie down. Notice any impulses in the gut and belly. Move from these sensations, these impulses. Let your movements be in response to the impulses you notice. Spend 5 to 10 minutes moving. Keep tracking sensation. As you bring your movement exploration to a pause, answer this statement. "I sense." Repeat your statement aloud three times.

3) Come to your drawing pad. Draw an image of your belly. What images were invoked during your body part exploration? What colors and textures are enlivened? Put them in your image. Ask your Self "Are there 'leftovers' that I am digesting still?" Does your gut have more to say, more to digest and assimilate?
Spend 10 to 20 minutes creating your image. Title it. Then answer this question: If your gut could talk, what would it tell you?

Moon Mind Calendar {August 29th to September 4th}

Picture

This Week's Intention: Stay close to your heart and emotional body wisdom this week. Honor your steps, but go slow and be steady. What is your intention for action and movement?
Let your momentum come from this place.

It is a new Moon week. The Moon is waning, turning inward, becoming dark and empty. As the Moon tides soften and become still, as does your emotional body. Pause more. Listen carefully and honor the wisdom coming from your soft, inner landscape. With this new Moon, the two week eclipse portal between lunar and solar eclipses also begins. Be gentle with yourself and honor the fact that others will be extra sensitive as well. More details in my New Moon Wisdom. Mercury goes retrograde early in the week and the mind moves in reverse for 23 days. Get innovative.

Monday, August 29th
Moon in 13th tithi
Trayodasi

Monday begins with Moon moving into Pushya nakshatra and its own sign Cancer. Pushya, the nourishing star, is Brihaspati's domain. As a personification of Jupiter, Brihaspati brings learning, knowledge and wisdom as well as support. How do you accept the support he is offering you? Are you able to receive and acknowledge what is arriving? Let gratitude be a balm for your heart and count your blessings. Saturn rules this nakshatra, requesting stability and steadiness. Go slow and continue to honor the needs he is presenting in your physical and emotional bodies. Stay connected to the wisdom of your body; get embodied. Use the breath as a resource for integration. You are still finding balance within polarities- light and dark, life and death, fast and slow, young and old, masculine and feminine. Use this time to honor all that you are. Lead with the heart as it is the ultimate point of integration and balance. Late evening Moon shifts to Ashlesha nakshatra, provoking the mind and supporting awakening from illusion. Get clear on what is working and what is not working. Clarify your priorities. The tight conjunction of Jupiter, Mercury and Venus continues. Clarify and create, expand and awaken. Let relationships and money be resources for your process of awareness. What mental/emotional body blockages are keeping you locked into old patterns?

Tuesday, August 30th
Moon in 14th tithi
Chaturdasi

Moon continues through Sarpa's domain, sparking mental body activity and deep inquiry. Snake energy is enlivened today, producing transformational and transcendental opportunities. Occult and mystical powers are enlivened as the Moon moves through this intense nakshatra. Late night, Moon shifts into the Sun's sign, Leo, landing in Magha nakshatra. Moon joins Sun and Rahu here. All receive gaze from the grief inducing Saturn and the spiritual change maker, Ketu. Mercury and Jupiter are still in the one degree range, however Venus has jumped forward a few degrees now. There is a battle between deva (god) and asura (demon) energies happening- and the mind is stuck in the middle of it. Today may prove to be a challenging day for the mental body on multiple accounts. Stay close to your body and breath. As Mercury goes retrograde today, honor the fact that the Mind is lurching into change and transformation and will begin to retrace its steps in the coming weeks. This may be helpful or difficult- or both.

Mercury will go retrograde in its sign of exaltation on August 30th. Mercury will be exalted in Virgo (not in its mulitrikona degrees) during this retrograde. An exalted retrograde planet becomes debilitated, impacting the expression of the planet and turning it inward, rather than outward. For over a week, the mental body will be on a unique, inward journey. On September 9th, Mercury will re-enter Leo, joining Sun and Rahu here. This will bring the mind more clarity and external focus, while supporting a unique and innovative process.

Read more about Mercury retrograde

Wednesday, August 31st
Moon in 15th tithi
Amavasya

Moon moves through Leo and Magha nakshatra today, stirring the inner lion and grande power. Pitr rules this constellation, bringing forth karma with father and the father's lineage, as well as the masculine. The ancestors will be supporting your power and purpose today. Can you feel a connection to them? Stay out of ego and grandiose arrogance. Instead, connect to heart and lineage in order to stay grounded in your truth. Moon is nearing its exact conjunction with the Sun, bringing an emptiness, release and letting go with it. With all the elements of father that have been stirred and provoked in the past few months as multiple planets have moved through Leo, today marks a poignant day of closure. What have you been healing with father wounds? What is your intention moving forward? How can you honor this need with an action step? Saturn and Mars continue to separate in Scorpio, supporting action and momentum. Mercury moves into exact conjunction with Jupiter as he retrogrades back through Virgo. Remember that an exalted planet that is retrograde, becomes debilitated- the energy moves inward rather than outwards. Debilitated Venus in Virgo continues to move away from both planets, however the mind is still being influenced by this challenging combination of spiritual vs. worldly. Relationships, money, comforts and food are vulnerable.

Thursday, September 1st
Moon in 15th and 1st tithi
Amavasya to Pratipad

Moon shifts into Purvaphalguni nakshatra just before Thursday begins, moving into the domain of Bhaga, the resource and pleasure provider. At 03:03, the new Moon officially arrives, bringing an emptiness and release with it. The new Moon is in sidereal Leo and Purvaphalguni nakshatra, coinciding with the annual solar eclipse. This particular eclipse will not be visible in North America, but will touch Southern Asia, Western Australia, Much of Africa, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Antarctica. The eclipse will begin at 00:13 MDT on the 1st and continue until 06:00, with the maximum eclipse occurring at 03:01 am MDT. Eclipses are a time to meditate and do spiritual practices. From a Vedic perspective, it is not advised to be outside during an eclipse, nor start new projects during the eclipse portal (the two week gap between solar and lunar eclipses). It is an inward, lunar day. Plant seeds and attend to your creativity in gentle, intentional ways. Bhaga supports the senses- sensuality, creativity, feelings, resources and that which brings pleasure and passion. What stirs your being and excites your spirit? Do that!

Friday, September 2nd
Moon in 2nd tithi
Dvitiya

As Friday begins, Moon shifts into the latter half of the Phalguni constellation, Uttaraphalguni. Moon is on the other side of Rahu now and moving towards Virgo. It is still a tender, small, gentle emotional body experience. One that requires attention and intention. Power is the theme right now. Are you in right relationship with your power? Uttaraphalguni is ruled by Aryaman, an Aditya who brings sustenance and good health, strength in the body and physical stamina. He also connects you to the ancestors and requests that you honor your lineage with activities and choices that sustain and nourish. Sun is the ruling planet of this lunar constellation and since the solar eclipse has now opened the eclipse portal, it is important to honor the themes now enlivened. Power, the masculine, and relationships, all require your focus. What resources do you need to awaken and digest?

Jupiter and debilitated (retrograde) Mercury continue to move through exact conjunction, with Venus only five degrees away. The mind is sandwiched in between Jupiter (purity) and Venus (impurity). Expect mental confusion with relationships, finances and health in connection to spiritual matters, wisdom and awareness. As Moon shifts into Virgo mid morning, these themes are illuminated and intensify. Stay in the body as much as possible. The mind and emotions will be amplified and may feel overwhelming. Find your grounding cord within.

Saturday, September 3rd
Moon in 3rd tithi
Tritiya

Just as Saturday arrives, Moon moves to Hasta nakshatra and Savitr arrives to illuminate and brighten. He brings the light- awareness through knowing, seeing and experiencing truth. Moon continues to mirror the challenges happening in Virgo currently. Today, Moon moves closer to Venus, who is not fond of the Moon. This combination is provocative for the current themes instigated by the transits and eclipse portal. Relationships, creativity, health, resources, pleasure, finances and passion are stirred. Can you find the root of the conflict within? What is working and what resources are you gathering? What challenges are present and how are they emerging? Remember that the nature of Virgo is to analyze, purify and cleanse. It wants to be healed, but not without attending to details. This is a powerful time to look very closely at your inner terrain and seek healing.

Sunday, September 4th
Moon in 4th tithi
Chaturthi

On Sunday morning, Moon begins to separate from the cluster of planets transiting Virgo. She shifts into Chitra mid morning, bringing resources and activation from Vishvakarma. Moon is slowly gaining some visibility as it enters the 4th tithi of its waxing phase, offering a more active awareness to your emotional body. Chitra translates as "to be painted" which shows the action oriented nature of this constellation as well as the high creativity. This constellation is a place of highly skilled artisans who bring forth visions into manifest form. Today, let your imagination move you into creative play. Make something, move something and create! Sun and Rahu are in exact conjunction today. The tension with ego, sense of self worth and one's abilities to activate and be empowered are being tested right now. Move towards gratitude. Lighten the heart. Early evening, Moon shifts to Libra, stirring the need for balance, integration and harmony. Ketu gives his gaze, which will require that you release and let go in the coming days. Where are you resisting this release?

As Moon moves through the 4th tithi (Chaturthi) beginning at 07:25 MDT, the celebrated birthday of Ganesha begins. Ganesha Chaturthi continues until 09:39 MDT on the 5th. Ganesha is the remover of obstacles and brings moksha, release and awakening on one's path. He supports your ability to see more clearly, to have ease and self realization. He especially loves sweets, though Gulab Jamun is said to be his favorite. Today, honor Ganesha at your altar and honor him for bringing you ease and grace on your path.

Monday, September 5th
Moon in 5th tithi
Panchami

Late Monday morning, moon shifts into Swati nakshatra, Vayu's territory. Movement will be maximized- whether small or large, gentle or harsh. The nature of Vayu is air, cooling things off softly and also brutally. As Moon moves through Libra at the start of the week, the need for balance, integration and connection increases. Ketu's gaze upon the Moon brings sudden changes, shifts and awakenings. Emotions may be sparked suddenly, but will release just as quickly. There is a link between Vayu and Rudra- which indicates great strength is available here. Vayu is also breath, the breath of life, life force energy. He can bring balance or imbalance, but Prana (your inner winds) will restore and bring health and vitality. If you can get your inner winds in balance, then everything else falls into place. Use pranayama, physical movement and breath awareness into your day.

Sun is still in very close proximity to Rahu and will continue to move past him in the coming days. Issues with ego, sense of self worth and inner resiliency are amplified. As Sun moves to the other side of Rahu, towards the edge of Leo, a unique planetary yoga occurs. All planets will be scissored in between Rahu and Ketu until late December (once Mars moves to the other side of Ketu). This yoga is called Kala Sarpa (The Serpent of Time) and will intensify each month as Moon enters Leo and moves through Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn and through Aquarius. Moon mirrors and magnifies, so issues provoked by these signs and the planets in these signs, will be amplified as a result. Kala Sarpa Yoga's effects intensify the planetary combinations at play as all planets are essentially "hemmed in" by the malefic shadow nodes, Rahu and Ketu.
