The January Purnima (full Moon) day is on Thursday, January 12th as the Moon travels through Punarvasu nakshatra, but at the edge of Gemini. Sun and Mercury give their direct gaze to the Moon at this time. The full Moon is at 04:34 am MST with Saturn and Scorpio on the Eastern horizon at this time. Aditi brings her blessings of abundance, nourishment and support- through resources, wisdom and wholeness. The coming cycle brings Mercurial resources and support, but will require unraveling the challenges, chaos and confusions of your mental body in order to gain the rewards. Align with spirit, get quiet, listen carefully. Meditation will be an important resource in the coming days to help you clarify your purest intentions and gather the insights and wisdom that Aditi provides. Get clear, focused and strengthen your intentions. What action steps can you use to back this? Part of you is confused about the nourishment you need right now as you sift through the many changes of the past few months. You may not even know what you need at this time. It's important to pause and check regularly so you can determine your new needs. There's a new sense of nourishment coming from your depths. Without pausing, slowing down and listening, you will miss the messages. Part of this new nourishment you are seeking comes from your heart wisdom. There is a big transformation taking place within, which is shifting your relationships, emotions and inner stability. You may feel unstable and ungrounded as a result, so make your home a priority- on the physical levels. This instability is effecting your relationships, creativity, money and comfort. Notice how your instability impacts your emotions, which in turn effects your finances. Clarify your needs right now so you can also create clarity with your level of comfort. What do you need in order to feel safe? Who and what is making you feel unsafe right now? Grounding and landing within your body and relationships is essential, while also transforming and healing past grief and disappointments. Shadows are lurking, hidden fears are becoming provocative, challenges with lack- inner and outer- are escalating. Lean into the darkness so you can clear it and make space for what you truly need and want. Continuing to avoid, resist and negate your deepest fears and insecurities will only further delay your nourishment, purpose and abundance. It's time to cut the cords that are holding you back, keeping you in lack and malnourishment. What is keeping you from stepping into your power and purpose more fully? How do you limit yourself from shining and being seen? In what ways do you silence yourself and keep playing small? Look closely and hold these questions in the coming weeks. Your answers may seem plausible, but notice where you are addicted to the chaos, the lack and the pain of not being enough. This can change as you bring these shadows to the light, the surface of your conscious mind. Resource from relationships that feel grounding and supportive. Stay close to your heart wisdom. Take time for meditation, movement and yoga practices, get embodied. Spend time in Nature and get closer to spirit. Gather your tools and resources, guidance and support for the upcoming cycle. As Saturn shifts to Sagittarius later this month, life will take dramatic new form. Use this time to ground so that the instability will be lessened. Saturn is now in the gap between Scorpio and Sagittarius, at 28 degrees, moving closer to the edge. Planets increase in power and strength as they leave a sign. The portal between water and fire is opening, as is the gandanta (gap) that signifies challenges, chaos and uprooting. The coming year of Saturn in Sagittarius is upon us. Read more about the impact of this delicate transit. Just after the full Moon, the auspicious Vedic celebration of Makar Sankranti arrives on Saturday the 14th. This marks an important movement towards a more auspicious time of year (spring and a time of growth) in the Vedic calendar. This day of the Sun's movement into Capricorn is named Makar Sankranti. Interestingly, unlike the majority of Vedic celebrations which are calculated by the placement of the Moon, this celebration is calculated by the position of the Sun. Sun is connected to father, knowledge, power, the Soul and the light within. As Sun will be in transition and considered sandhi (in the gap/the in between realms) until Sunday, we may notice a slow start to the new light. Get organized and be methodical in your approach to work and your own shining. This is a powerful time to set intentions and goals for the 2017 in order to have a rich harvest. Creative Ritual #1) Harvesting for the Months to Come: In your journal, spend some time with these questions: What am I stepping towards? What am I moving away from? As I move forward, what do I need/want? As I close old doors, what do I need/want? What are my actions steps for growth and change? This week? This month? This year? What is the theme for your coming year? #2) Imagine and Create As you think about and write about your 2017 intentions/goals, what image comes to you? Using craypas, paints or pencils, create an image of your theme. What does it feel like for you? What does it look like? Allow yourself to imagine this theme and bring it to life on paper. Create an image that expresses this feeling using colors, textures and shapes. Allow 20 minutes at minimum for this image to emerge. Title your image. 3) Bring Your Image to Life Use your image to inspire a movement exploration. Let your body move in response to your image with an intention of "awakening your theme and bringing it to life". What sensations emerge for you during your dance? What awareness? Allow 5 to 10 minutes for this movement exploration. I encourage you to extend this time frame as you recycle this process. Want More?
