New Moon is at 13:30 MDT, while transiting the fierce star, Bharani nakshatra. This is Yama's domain and he requires restraint and simplicity, while also honoring vulnerability and strength simultaneously. He offers the ultimate relationship with transformation- through the death and dying process, as well as birth. The symbol of this nakshatra is the yoni, which signifies great beginnings. Birth after all, is a death process in and of itself. Bharani reminds us that death and life are one and the same, that unity, presence, and ultimately, simplicity, are the path of Yoga. Yama is quick to remind when you are not in alignment with Natural Law, nor in right-relationship with restraint and self control. This waxing Moon cycle promotes cutting away, butchering, anything that is keeping you from your purpose, path, dharma. Excess must be radically released, killed, transformed and ultimately simplified so that you are in deeper harmony with your truth. Extravagance in action, choices and energy will not be tolerated or respected by Yama. He requests simplicity in order for clarity. It is a powerful cycle, however, for those who are honoring and in alignment with their dharmic work and endeavors that support one's True Path. If you aren't aligned with this truth, you will be notified. Look for discomfort, challenges and obstacles as messengers. They are here to declare this misalignment and help you notice what needs to be released. In many ways this cycle is a radical birth process. But birth does not come without death. What doors are you opening consciously? What doors are you closing and honoring? You can't have one without the other. Too many doors open? Not enough closing? Yama will not tolerate this level of excess and lack of clarity. Make some decisions, make some choices, that determine closure. Where are you stuck in fear? Fear of a "wrong" choice? Choices help you prune and create new pathways. Keep stepping, keep moving, keep creating. Your work is to continue to be receptive to the creative process and re-create your life again and again. How are you honoring your Creative Powers? Bharani nakshatra's planetary ruler is Venus, supporting a connection to the creative wisdom of the Divine Feminine. Her power is aligned with the birth process and the many acts of creativity. Venus can bring life, or She can bring death. She can also bring life through death. She is the life force energy, Shakti, that moves through your being, sparking you alive, vital and potent. When Her forces dwindle, or they are squandered, the being dries up, moves towards death and loses its powerful life force energy. Align with your Creative Powers, your Shakti, life force energy, more consciously in this cycle. Where are you saying YES to life? Where are you saying NO? What actions, choices and relationships continue to move you towards death? Which ones move you towards life? Be direct, harsh and fearless in your actions. Move towards right-relationship with both life and death. The ancestors are here to support your process of awakening, dharma and wisdom. Call upon them for clarity, answers, guidance and resources. Be receptive to Spirit and the many gifts available through accessing your spiritual center. The ancestors are waiting for you to say yes to your path and purpose with strength and vigor. How do you honor them? Days after the new Moon, the most auspicious day of the year arrives, Akshaya Tritiya- when Sun and Moon are exalted simultaneously. It is said that only positive outcomes can emerge on this day, that there can be no harm. All actions will be fruitful and yield positive results. As the third tithi arrives (Tritiya) of the waxing phase, with exalted Sun and Moon, the power and energy will be palpable. Luck, success and powerful results occur when you align with the strength of this day. Akshaya Tritiya officially begins at 06:22 am MDT, once the Moon moves into the third tithi and ends as Moon shifts into the 4th tithi of the waxing cycle at 03:23 am MDT on Monday, May 9th. Moon will be transiting Rohini nakshatra the majority of the time, a highly creative star- connected to manifestation and ruled by Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma and his wife Goddess Saraswati, are the ultimate united team of manifestation, since Lord Brahma created the universe from his navel. Moon shifts into Mrigashirsha nakshatra, ruled by Soma, during the final portion of the Akshaya Tritiya festivities. On this day, take a powerful action step towards your desires, dharma and purpose. Step forward with confidence and clarity! Vishnu, the god of preservation in the holy trinity of Vedic gods, rules over Akshaya Tritiya. This year, it is also Parushuram Jayanti, the celebrated birth date of the 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Parushuram's role is to destroy the ignorance of those in power positions and those misusing their authority. He removes sin and exterminates those leaders who are misaligned with power and right-action. May 8th is also considered Mother's Day in the USA. Kali emerged from Durga's anger. Durga is the universal mother, Jagadambe, whereas Durga is a powerful force that has the power to fearlessly destroy. Both are expressions of the vast essence of the Divine Mother and her many strengths. Read more about the importance of the Moon. 1) Answer these questions in your journal: What am I opening to?
