The most auspicious full Moon of the year arrives on July 19th at 16:56. Guru Purnima is considered the fullest full Moon of the year, dedicated to gurus and teachers who bring you wisdom, guidance and support. This year, Guru Purnima occurs while the Moon is in Capricorn and UttaraAshada nakshatra- just a few degrees shy of landing in the sacred portal of Abhijit nakshatra. The Vishva Devas are enlivened, sparking support and assistance from universe and spirit. The Vishva Devas bring power and the ability to overcome obstacles, while finding the support you need to become successful. Worshipping the Vishva Devas, or the Laws of Nature, brings you the empire, the kingdom, the royal success you long for on the material plane of existence. The Vishva Devas support your success beyond dreams, but will help you materialize your visions into reality. This is an action oriented lunar constellation, ruled by the Sun. It demands truth, honesty, integrity and your committed arrival to your dharmic path. This full Moon and the cycle to come demand your consistent action steps and integrated movement. There is resistance to change, yet with alignment and a commitment to your path, the way will be shown to you. All you need to do is continue to arrive, to show up and listen carefully to the wisdom that is within you. Your dedication to your inner light, will show you the way. There is great nourishment in the coming cycle, but it arrives with your release and letting go. The blessings and gifts will come when you let go of the objectives and shadows that undermine your clarity, purpose and inner knowing. Immense creativity derives from the heart center in this cycle. This heart wisdom is your guru, your biggest teacher. It hurts, it feels pain, the emotions will be strong, but it is opening the door to more space, a more expanded version of yourself. How open are you to the transformation process? Gather resources, support and guidance in the weeks to come. Seek counseling and individual resources to move beyond the old, stuck and worn out patterns that keep you locked in struggle and pain. It is your time to grow, rise from the mud. Reach up and out, extend your reach. This can be a time of great blossoming, if you prune some branches in order to allow the new growth to emerge. Creative Ritual 1) Identify something or someone that you are grateful for in your life right now. Move closer to this feeling of gratitude. Lean in and listen. Notice where this sense of gratitude lands in your body. Stay with this sensation and continue to bring your presence to this feeling in your body for 2 to 5 minutes.
2) Create an image of your gratitude. Using craypas, paints or pencils, create an image of your gratitude. What does this gratitude feel like for you? Create an image that expresses this feeling using colors, textures and shapes. Allow 20 minutes at minimum for this nourishment image. Title your image. 3) Embody your gratitude dance. Use your image to inspire a movement exploration. Let your body move in response to your gratitude image with the intention of "moving with your gratitude". What sensations emerge for you during your dance? What awareness? Allow 5 to 10 minutes for this movement exploration. I encourage you to extend this time frame as you recycle this process. 4) Harvesting. In your journal answer these questions: I am, I want, I need, I sense, I feel, I imagine.
