As the Moon shifts into the first tithi of the waxing Moon cycle, the sacred nine day and night celebration of Maha Navaratri begins. Nava means nine and ratri means night in Sanskrit. Each day and night of this powerful junction point, correlates to the epic battle between the goddess Sri Devi Mahatmyam and the demon Mahishasura. Maha Devi Mahatmyam is connected to both Durga and Shakti, powerful forms of divine feminine energy that awaken, clear, transform and heal. Sri Devi is understood to be the supreme creation power of the universe, the Tridevi, or triple goddess, as she expresses the creation, sustaining and destructive energies that perpetuate all forms of life. In the sacred text known as the Sri Devi Mahatmyam, composed between 400 and 600 CE, the many forms of the goddess are expressed. "She is presented, through a language of praise, as the one who dwells in all creatures, as the soul, as the power to know, the power to will and the power to act. She is consciousness of all living beings, she is intelligence, she is matter, and she is all that is form or emotion." - Via Wikipedia During the nine day and night Navaratri celebration, the battle between light and dark forces enlivens, ending on the 10th day with Victory Day, Vijaya Dashami. This battle between light and dark, good and bad, masculine and feminine, transformation and healing, is taking place within all beings at this sacred junction point. It is a time to heal and integrate polarities within. During Chaitra Navaratri in the spring, the ninth day is celebrated as the birth day of Lord Ram, called Ram Navami. The Navaratri celebration is an expression of what is taking place within Nature, through the Laws that govern Nature, marking an important transition within us and around us. These important junction points (know as a gap, or sandhi in Sanskrit) happen multiple times a year, however, the Shardiya, or Maha Navaratri, junction point is considered the most powerful. This is a death cycle for both Northern and Southern hemispheres. As life is being called into silence in the North, and called into action for the South. In either case, doors are opening and closing. Align with Nature and Her powerful energy of change and transformation during Navaratri. Ritualize your connections with Nature- in order to land more closely to your own inner wisdom, to Her wisdom. Strengthen your connection to self and Spirit. Navaratri is a poignant time in the Vedic Calendar. This ancient calendar is one that is dedicated to Nature and her cycles and rhythms, the planets, and most importantly the Moon. In the Vedic Calendar, time is connected to what Nature and the cosmos are doing, and these elements are intimately related. Navaratri occurs several times a year, though the main celebrations are twice a year- in the "gap" seasons of spring and fall. These times are considered sandhi times; delicate times that feel like you are neither here, nor there. We might call it the netherworld. This time, though delicate, is considered sacred. In the spring, Navaratri marks the "waking up" of the devis or the goddesses; the aspects of Natural Law that enliven growth, abundance, prosperity, learning, well being, change and transformation. In the fall, Navaratri invites in destruction, removal, change, transformation and healing. The goddesses Durga, Saraswati and Lakshmi symbolize these parts of life and Nature, while also being parts of our own innate being. The three of them together represent our wholeness, the trinity of life, alive in and around us. These three goddesses also connect to Shakti, the goddess who gives the spark of life to every being, to Nature, and to existence. Fall Navaratri, or Maha Navaratri, is by far the most potent as it brings deep transformation and the ability to remove, destroy, release and transform, our darkness into light. The holy trinity of goddesses supports this process and allows us to let go of what needs to be released in order for greater nourishment. As we let go of our darkness, an increase of light and wisdom can take its place. This process is marked by Durga's powerful battle against the demon Mahishasura. On the 10th day, she destroyed him and was victorious. This day is called Vijaya Dashami (Dashami is the 10th lunar day of the Moon cycle, connected to dharma). This is a nine day and night celebration that is divided into three parts. The first three days are dedicated to the goddess Durga. Her warrior spirit cleanses, shifts, uproots, changes and transforms. Think of her as tilling the soil, prior to planting seeds. The next three days of celebration are dedicated to Lakshmi. Her abundance, nurturing, and wealth offer nourishment and support to us on all levels of life. Health is the ultimate wealth and Lakshmi brings this support as well. Finally, we have three days dedicated to goddess Saraswati. She gives us knowledge, understanding, wisdom, creativity and artistry. She is the rasayana (or healing balm) if you will to close this sacred nine day celebration. Together, these three goddesses bring wholeness, renewal, and the life giving offerings of Shakti. This creative life-force energy is truly what inspires life, living and abundance. It is at this time that we can connect to these three goddesses most easily- inside of us, and around us. Because of this, Navaratri is considered a very sacred and powerful time of year- one that influences our inner and outer experience of life for months to come. To connect with the goddesses more closely, make special offerings on your altar for them during the nine days. You can also dedicate your actions and intentions to them for greater communication. Connecting to fire and stoking the internal flame (or agni) can be valuable for the first three days of Durga. You may wish to write intentions that focus on empowerment and action steps for the coming months as well. Using self development tools to transform negative thoughts and mental body stories, will be well supported at this time. During the three days of Lakshmi, bring sweets and flowers to your altar, cook nourishing foods for your Self, decorate and adorn your Self. This is a time to focus on self care diligently. For the final portion of Navaratri, dedicated to Saraswati, music, art and poetry can be a good way to focus your energy, efforts and intentions. Use creativity, artistry and embodiment resources for grounding and landing in your intentions. Use one of my Creative Rituals for support with this process. On this first day and night of Navaratri, notice what's arriving. I have experienced that the first three days of Navaratri initiate the changes and transformations you are working with in this release cycle. Often you must confront challenges and obstacles as a result. More nourishment and support is coming, but you can't receive it without this important step. What is arriving? What parts of your personal mythology are showing up as a mirror for you? How can you clear more space within? Let Durga's fierce warrior energy initiate and provoke awareness. Emotionally, you may feel anger, pain, frustration or sadness emerge in the coming days. Physically you may need more rest or silence. Mentally you may need more inward reflection as well as time for meditation. Spiritually, you may need time with nature and rituals that help you land in deeper presence. Understand that this is a part of the change and transformation process. Where can you land into deeper presence with your needs? As you deepen your intention for this Navaratri celebration, find meaningful rituals for yourself that bring you closer to spirit. Spend time in nature and in meditation. Listening to Durga mantras right now is excellent for inviting in her presence. Traditionally, listening to Chandi Path recitations is also encouraged. During this sacred and potent time, treat your Self like the goddess that you are and share your abundance with others. In the coming waxing cycle it may feel like you have a foot in two worlds, as though you're navigating your polarities with uncertainty and extremes. Are you in or are you out? Trust that an integration is taking place and use your relationships as potent resources for the process. Depth and awakening are possible through the mirror of "other" but not without digging up some very dark personal mythology from your depths. What is it that you're truly longing for? That you're afraid of? How is your fear keeping you from the nourishment that you seek? It is your pain and grief that will teach you the most. Use it to heal and transform your darkness into light. First you must be willing to witness it, then you can move it and release it. Grieve the death and losses present in your relationships. What is working? What isn't? Honor your pain and allow it to release. Attend to the heart ache and process of inner release with tenderness, compassion and kindness towards yourself. What are you grieving? What have you lost in the past many months? Let your emotional waves be a process clearing, cleaning and purging. It's normal and vital that you do this right now. As you clear and purge your emotional body, you are creating space for the new. What are you allowing into your life- consciously and unconsciously? Your choices impact how and what you receive very directly. Clean up your support systems and align with more nourishing stability- within your body and environment. If you're not willing to do the intense mental and emotional body clean up that it takes to create new options and possibilities for yourself, there won't be any noticeable changes taking place in this cycle. The amount of abundance coming to you is directly impacted by the space you create for it. This is a regal constellation, connected to the father and the ancestors specifically. There is leadership available here. Step into your power and use your strength for divine purpose. Moon joins Rahu and Mercury in Leo for the coming days. All three planets receive gaze from Ketu and Saturn. There is a need for release, but confusion about how to do so. Restriction and resistance co-mingle with sudden shifts and changes. Where are you gripping? Where are you allowing release? How can you keep landing in your body- in order to ground more firmly in the "now"? The emotions will be shadowed and may feel extreme or volatile. Emotional body waves are stronger when Moon interacts with the karma nodes, Rahu and Ketu. As Moon crosses over Rahu today and to the other side of him, expect the emotional body to intensify. Once Moon moves to the inside of Rahu this afternoon, the effects of Kala Sarpa yoga return for the coming weeks. Highs and lows should be expected. Read more here. The Moon will be sandwiched in between Rahu and Mercury until Thursday, causing intensified mental and emotional body pressures. It requires your deep authenticity, and presence with your whole range of being. As the divine architect, he brings immense creativity, building, planning and resources. He awakens and enlivens action steps and plans. Mars rules this lunar constellation, yet the planet of fire and warrior action is currently transiting the challenging star, Mula, in Sagittarius. Confusion about action steps may arrive. Notice the nuances arriving today, as important uprooting and release is taking place. It's the first day of Navaratri and Durga begins her battle against the asura (demon) Mahishasura. The battle between dark and light forces starts to work its magic on you as well. Acknowledge and address challenges head on. Notice the inner conflicts emerging. This is a powerful time to integrate polarities, but first you must pull up the weeds in mind and emotions. The coming days will test your ability to face your demons and confront your darkness. On this first day and night of Navaratri, notice what's arriving. Sunday, October 2nd Moon in 2nd tithi Dvitiya Just as Sunday begins, the Moon moves to one of its least favorite signs, Libra, joining Venus here. Venus adores Libra, which helps to bring some support, however Venus is not fond of the Moon. The vacillation and back and forth, that Libra is famous for, imbalances and destabilizes the Moon as well. Ketu gives his gaze, provoking sudden awakening- either through awareness or loss, or both. You will likely feel the unsteadiness in mind and emotions today. This will impact relationships, business and comforts especially. Late afternoon, Moon moves to Swati nakshatra and the wind god, Vayu brings change, movement and detachment. Relationship changes arrive. What do you need to feel more stability, support and grounding? It is the second day and night of the Navaratri celebration and the second of three that are dedicated to Ma Durga. Her battle begins to intensify today. Notice the conflicts and polarities rising to the surface of your mind. Notice the impact on your emotional body. Notice the effects on your physical body. How can you reconnect to your inner knowing, even when the inner battle is intensifying? Recite Durga mantras and listen to Chandi Path recitations for extra support. Monday, October 3rd Moon in 3rd tithi Tritiya Swati nakshatra continues to bring powerful changes to feelings and emotions. Ruling Deity of Swati nakshatra, Vayu, the wind god, invites in swift movement and change. Whether it's a gentle breeze or huge gusts, winds of change are ushering in transformation. What are you tracking within your own personal landscape? Use your emotional body as a resource for discerning your needs. What is working? What is not? What resources and support are you missing? Late evening, Moon moves to Vishaka nakshatra. It is the third day of Navaratri and the third day and night dedicated to Ma Durga. Recite Durga mantras and listen to Chandi Path recitations for extra support. Today, use connection and integration as a way to transform. Dual gods, Indra and Agni rule over Vishaka and instigate the need for partnership and co-creation. Agni, the ultimate transformational element provides the spark for change. What are you burning and releasing? Allow the strength of Indra to supply you with the power you need to awaken your inner wisdom. Clarify, purify, release. Mercury moves back into its favorite sign, Virgo today. As he re-enters his sign of exaltation, he joins Jupiter and Sun as well. At this point, we may finally get the positive effects of an exalted Mercury, with the expansive wisdom of Jupiter and the illumination of the Sun to support the awareness. A strong mind will bring more clarity, purposeful communication and potent resources. For the benefits of exalted Mercury to be felt, it will require patience and strong intentions. Stay true to your direction and continue to take action towards goals and desires. Increased financial support will come with your diligence. Work consistently and pro-actively on clearing limiting beliefs and mental/emotional blockages during this cycle- all that is hindering your ability to step more powerfully into financial abundance. Gather resources and support for this process. Jupiter will be activating your expansion, but only with the right guidance and support. * All timing used is Mountain Daylight Time

Just as Wednesday begins, Moon moves to Aditi's star, Punarvasu. This is a changeable, moveable, constellation. Results of the day may shift as a result. Aditi brings resources, support and wisdom. Allow resources to flow towards you today. Where are you saying no to support, harmony and balance? How can you move into more receiving? Duality is keeping you in the dark. Aditi (non difference) brings the light, whereas her sister, Diti (difference) brings a lack of integration and harmony within. Strengthen your receptivity today. Harmonize polarities, find balance, align with your inner truth. Late evening, Moon shifts to its most harmonious sign, Cancer. Moon moves out of the gaze of the other planets, while it transits its own sign. Emotional body harmony is possible. Attend to your inner waters with sacred intention in the coming days. Harvest the wisdom. A new solar cycle begins on April 13th at 07:54 Mountain Daylight Time. Our light source, the Sun, is of utmost importance for inner and outer growth. While the Moon brings the necessary nourishment that can support the growth process. When the Moon is illuminated at night, the light of the Sun can be more easily absorbed, becoming Soma, or divine nectar within. Both planets are resources for life force energy. Balance between both are essential for receiving the gifts, resources and support abundant in life and Nature. Jupiter and Rahu give their gaze to the Sun in Aries, intensifying the transit through immense expansion. Are you resisting this growth? In the cycle to come, working diligently with the masculine energy of structure will be vital. The masculine parts of yourself will be asked to be suppressed, negated, reconstructed, deconstructed and re-created. A liberation process is afoot. In this overtly masculine-centric society, all genders have tendencies towards excess masculine energy. This promotes excess structure, the need for outcome, lack of surrender, fear of the unknown and misalignment with force and power. Being in right-relationship with these parts of your being are essential for inner balance and harmony to occur. Where is the mind following your overly masculine-centric paradigms? How does the mind play out the patterns and behaviors of your inner Sun? Polarities continue to be a potent resource for growth and healing in the coming cycle. Can you identify the parts of you that are in conflict with each other? The parts of you that say yes, while the other half of you say no? These inner wars will induce fear, chaos, stress, overwhelm and feelings of mal-nourishment in life. Unless these polarities can come into right relationship with each other, inner and outer balance can not be achieved. Notice how your relationships are in fact a mirror for these inner battles within you. What parts of yourself are asking you to take a closer look? Look in the many mirrors presenting themselves to you and do the necessary inner work to clear the challenges so you can receive the nourishment on the other side. There is nourishment to be had in the cycle ahead, and plenty of it. The only question is- are you able to receive it? What blockages are keeping you from fully receiving the divine abundance circling around you and through you? What parts of you say yes, while others say no- on the Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual body levels? Where are there obstructions, clogging or misalignment? The solar cycle ahead will be an invitation for more transformation, deeper healing, alignment with your inner fire, the agni of life. Feed your flame with diligence and consciousness. Take the necessary steps for a balanced and harmonious outcome. As you continue to track your inner process and development, notice the global stage. The conflicts within masculine (containment) and feminine (expansion) dynamics are ripe and intensifying. The battles are raging on, yet the imbalances increase simultaneously. The global mirror is also a powerful place to look at for our own self growth. I believe firmly that change begins within, that personal development- that is whole, integrated and balanced- is as necessary for the individual as it is for our world family. It is also Raam Navami, the birth of Lord Raam. The ninth Moon phase (tithi) is called Navami in Sanskrit. This Moon phase is ruled by the Sun and the deity Naga. The Naga's are helpful serpents who support growth and wisdom through deep, inner work. They bring resources and help you overcome obstacles. Raam Navami is considered an auspicious day to start new endeavors, to make intentions known. Take an action step today towards a powerful desire, towards dharma. Use today to awaken your inner yes! During this final day of the sacred nine day celebration of Navaratri, allow the previous days to digest and integrate. Seek closure through ritual. Let Saraswati's wisdom, creative power, and nourishment through spiritual resources, guide you. Use Saraswati mantras to connect with her gifts as well as Chandi Path recitations for support with transformation. Saraswati gives us knowledge, understanding, wisdom, creativity and artistry. She is the rasayana (or healing balm) if you will, that closes out this sacred nine day celebration. Use creativity, artistry and embodiment resources for grounding and landing in your intentions. Use my Creative Rituals and Tapping Meditation Podcasts for support with this process. Moon moves through Ashlesha nakshatra today, starting mid morning. This is a Mercury ruled constellation, inviting the Mental Body to intensify today. Sarpa rules this deity, inviting in wisdom and growth through mystical knowledge. Interestingly, Sarpa is the opposite of Naga. Both are serpents, yet they offer their support in very different ways. Nagas support the light, whereas Sarpa's support the darkness. Neither is all good, nor all bad, but they offer their resources in very different ways. Both support transformation and healing through serpent energy and kundalini. What is kundalini but the unification of opposites! Unite, unify and strengthen through harmony and balance! Let this intention serve you in the coming days, weeks and months as the portal of Navaratri ushers in a bountiful season ahead! Saturday, April 16th Moon in 10th to 11th tithi Dashami to Ekadashi Midmorning, Moon leaps to the powerful sign of Leo and into Magha nakshatra, the "magnificent star". The ancestors support this nakshatra and provide power and strength for those that align with them. Lineage matters for all levels of life. Honor your roots today with gratitude and ritual. Ketu and retrograde Saturn give their gaze to the Moon, providing awakenings and sudden changes, yet the need for structure and stability. Spiritual insights may come through the Physical body today. As Moon transits Leo over the next few days, She conjuncts retrograde Jupiter and Rahu, both in Purvaphalguni nakshatra currently. This is a fertile and sensual constellation that brings increased Shakti, life force with it. As the Moon illuminates this constellation, allow the Creative Intelligence of the Divine Feminine to move through you. She has been awakened through the Navaratri celebration! She is awakening you! Let Her wisdom move through you and move you. Say yes to life! What stirs your heart and makes you come alive? Do this! Dashami, or the 10th tithi, is often considered "victory day" in the Navaratri celebration. This is the day when Durga's defeat over the demon Mahishasura is honored. Let your light overtake your darkness. Mars prepares to retrograde Sunday morning. You may notice your action steps are stalled, slowed or challenged. This is a reminder to go slow, take sacred pause and move into the receptive. Sunday, April 17th Moon in 11th and 12th tithi Ekadashi to Dvadashi Day of Sun, amplifies the effects of exalted Sun, currently in Aries, conjunct Mercury. Moon transits Purvaphalguni nakshatra, which invites in the sense of spring and vitality. The Phalguni constellations exemplify the "bees to honey" experience. It is a potent and attractive star, inviting in feminine wisdom and abundance. Venus is the ruling planet, whereas Bhaga is the deity component of this nakshatra. Both provide resources and abundance, when the channels are open to receive the nourishment. With Venus exalted in Pisces right now (and Sun exalted as well), free from conjunctions or gaze of the other planets, Her divine support can flow more fully. She can give money, love, joy, abundance, harmony, health and vitality, all resources that bring life. Are you able to receive the abundance of this day? Mars retrogrades at 06:16 am MDT, inviting in different action steps in the coming months. Mars has been transiting Scorpio with Saturn- who is also retrograde right now. Normally, Mars would be excited to transit his own, familiar territory, however, an intruder also occupies his home. Right now this enemy (Saturn) is in his enemy’s sign and uncomfortable digging up the depths and subconscious territory of Scorpio. Add a fiery warrior to the mix and it could make for an uncomfortable few months ahead. The opposing energies of Mars and Saturn don’t bode well for smooth sailing. Saturn is a slow, methodical, hard working old man that is set in his ways. Mars is a young “whipper snapper” that acts more than he thinks, causing mischief and havoc in his path as a result. Can your old and young energies align, integrate and find a new sense of harmony? What can your old self teach your younger self and vice versa? Seek alignment as they both need each other on some fundamental level. Can you find that need and help them find peace within you? This transit is taking unusually long due to Mars retrograding back through Scorpio now. This will spark an interesting capacity for depth and dharma. Saturn retrogrades on March 25th, strengthening his challenges and gifts. (Retrograde planets act like the nodes Rahu and Ketu who are notorious for intensification). Mars retrogrades on April 15th for 2.5 months, provoking a powerful cycle of returns. During this transit Mercury will also be retrograde for several weeks and Jupiter will still be in retrograde motion as well. From April 28th to May 9th there will be four planets in retrograde motion, six- counting the always retrograde karmic planets, Rahu and Ketu. Many returns will take place simultaneously- physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I’ll be sharing more details about the back to back retrograde planets as we approach this cycle. As Mars retrogrades back through Scorpio, he ends up returning to Libra on June 17th. Once he goes direct on June 30th, he must travel back through Libra once again, which will take him until July 12th when he re-enters Scorpio. As Mars moves back to Scorpio, he rejoins Saturn here, this time until September 18th. In total, Mars will march through his own sign the majority of the year. Because he must contend with Saturn as well, there is ample opportunity in the coming months to truly integrate polarities that are causing you disconnections and disassociation. The misalignment may activate in charged, passionate and contentious ways, however, the healing that can take place within Scorpio’s territory is like no other. The nature of this sign is depth and transformation. If you are willing to lean into the hidden parts of your being and diligently dive into your subconscious and unconscious territory, you will harvest pearls undoubtedly. However, those who resist, avoid and continue to suppress their emotional body messages, will find their discomfort and challenges amplified. The soreness and pain is nothing more than a request to lean in closer, look, notice and allow the shadow to emerge. As your dark matter rises, it can find its natural way of release. Movement is the medicine. Remember that the majority of this Mars and Saturn conjunction in Scorpio, the conjunction of Jupiter and Rahu will be active as well. Your darkness is requesting more wisdom on multiple levels as a result. Themes for this coming Mars transit strongly include unifying polarities and extremes within your being. This may be through masculine and feminine forces, authority and subordinates, shadow and light. You may identify that your force versus surrender needs more integration. Strong themes of opening and closing will emerge in forceful and dramatic ways. Be prepared to let go. Clinging will only intensify the pain. Trust this process of release as it is moving you closer to your inner truth, the purpose of your life and path. Dharmic awakening is possible as old doors will close swiftly. Are you willing to open new doors? Reach for the knob even if you’re in the dark. Work with your power authentically and consciously. Be true to your needs and move towards your strength, but notice when you are misaligned with your empowerment. True power is the harmony of masculine and feminine forces. Can you feel this within your body? Let the spine be an integration point and notice the sensations that strengthen and support this understanding. Expand what you think is possible for yourself. What are you willing to risk, to let go of, in order to receive more nourishment, truth and power? Move towards the nourishment of balance. Can you find the simplicity in the complexity? Ready to take your inner growth to the next level and deepen your relationship with your inner feminine wisdom? Integrate polarities, strengthen Creative Intelligence, clarify your strength and purpose! Join me for my Jyotish Astrology Coaching + Classes for Transformation and Healing. Align With Durga and Her Powerful Energy of Change and Transformation During Navaratri. The main Navaratri celebrations occur twice a year- in the "gap" seasons of spring and fall. These times are considered sandhi times; delicate times that feel like you are neither here, nor there. We might call it the netherworld. This time, though delicate, is considered sacred. In the spring, Navaratri marks the "waking up" of the devis or the goddesses, of Shakti; the aspects of Natural Law that enliven growth, abundance, prosperity, learning, well being, change and transformation. Vasant Navaratri, or spring Navaratri, begins with the new Moon this year, on Thursday April 7th at 04:24 am PDT. Sun and Moon are in Revati nakshatra, the final star of the zodiac, signifying endings and beginnings. This is the mark of the Vedic Lunar New Year and the beginning of the sacred nine day celebration of Navaratri as well. Durga is enlivened at this time! The battle between good over evil intensifies in the coming days as Durga battles the demon Mahishasura. This battle takes place within every human being. The conflict between light and dark forces, polarities, is expressed through this sacred and timeless battle. It also mirrors the conflicts stirred between the masculine and feminine energies within. This battle is a wake up call, a clearing of old, stagnant beliefs, patterns and behaviors. Pay close attention during this sacred nine day celebration as inner and outer conflicts intensify. What does this conflict share with you about your polarities? What mirrors are being held up in order for you to make lasting change and transformation? Nava means nine in Sanskrit while Ratri means nights. This is a nine day celebration that is divided into three parts. She is your Creative Intelligence. It is at this time that we can connect to these three goddesses most easily- inside of us, and around us. Because of this, Navaratri is considered a very sacred and powerful time of year- one that influences our inner and outer experience of life for months to come. To connect with the goddesses more closely, make special offerings on your altar to them during the nine days. You can also dedicate your actions and intentions to them for greater communication. Use this time for self development practices and sacred pause. Slow down and notice what is stirring within you and around you. Use my Creative Rituals for support with this process. During this sacred and potent time, treat your Self like the goddess that you are and share your abundance with others. May we each remember our abundant true nature, our immense creative life giving energy and the power of the Divine Feminine for healing and transformation! Read more about Navaratri from Vaidya Rama Kant Mishra, renowned Shaka Vansya Ayurvedic Doctor. This Week's Intention: Endings are increasing, creating space for new, more sacred openings. Lean into the resistance of this release process. What conflicts within are keeping you from moving forward more powerfully? How can you seek more integration and harmony with these polarities? The week begins with a waning Moon moving through Aquarius. The inner light is dimming within, which makes it easier to turn inward and drop into your subtle awareness. The sacred Vedic celebration of Navaratri begins this week with the new Moon, as does the Vedic lunar new year. In many ways, this week begins a powerful emergence of growth through the divine wisdom of Shakti and her life force energy. Ride the currents and notice where you are resisting the abundant flow.
Use the coming days during this sacred portal of Navaratri (April 7th to 15th) to clarify your dharmic intentions. Who and what are you aligning with for greater power, support and nourishment? Cultivate presence with what is working and consciously attend to challenges and obstacles as these are resources in disguise. Ask for support and more connection. Your consistent, methodical action steps will take you far. Monday, April 4th Moon in 12th tithi Just as Monday begins, Moon arrives in Satabisha nakshatra, Varuna's domain. He guards Natural Law and maintains order by witnessing all imbalances. He punishes those not aligned with Nature's wisdom, but can provide great healing in the process. Maintaining health by attending to cycles, rhythms and Nature's wisdom, are essential under Satabisha. Where are you aligned with the rhythms of Nature? Where are you misaligned? Today, make necessary adjustments in order to maximize your health, strength and vitality. Challenges are reminders that changes need to be made on some level. Late evening, Moon shifts to Purvabhadra nakshatra and Ajaikapada encourages balancing opposites, extremes and challenges. Where are you feeling conflicted? Find your integration point. Tuesday, April 5th Moon in 13th to 14th tithi Moon continues through Ajaikapada's constellation today. Purvabhadrapada supports balance of extremes, of polarities, of opposition. Where are you in conflict? What parts of you are saying yes? What parts of you are saying no? As Moon conjuncts Ketu exactly today, it's time to awaken, open and surrender. Cut, clear and release the shadows that keep you in conflict, in chaos and confusion. Get focused and strategic and take important action steps to support this clarity. The Adityas (the gods that support resources) are here to support you in this clarity. Once you align with your inner knowing, nothing can stop your flow, your receptivity. Late afternoon, Moon moves to Pisces, joining exalted Venus and Sun here. Late evening Moon moves to the latter half of the Bhadra constellation, Uttarabhadra. Dive deep within and harvest your inner riches. Look at the nourishment within you and honor these places of comfort and support. Find the challenging places and allow the flow of your divine wisdom to coax it into release and surrender. The light is soft right now as we approach the new Moon. Use this sacred time to center, harmonize and restore inner balance. Wednesday, April 6th Moon in 14th tithi Moon moves through Uttarabhadrapada, conjunct exalted Venus and Sun. The new Moon is arriving and with it the emotional body is tender, vulnerable and soft. This porousness is helpful for release and deep surrender. Allow the nourishment to enter and notice where you need more. Ahirbudhnya rules this nakshatra and supports deep inner wisdom to be cultivated. For those that choose to dive deeply within their unconscious and subconscious territory, he will support your change and transformation journey. As you dig up your depths, it naturally rises to the surface, where the light of the soul can reach it. Find these places within. Dig into your darkness and let your inner light illuminate the pearls you find. As evening arrives, Moon shifts to the final nakshatra of the zodiac, marking release, endings and letting go. Revati insures safe and fruitful journey's. What closure do you need for a sense of completion? Thursday, April 7th Moon in 15th and 1st tithi Amavasya to Pratipad New Moon is Thursday April 7th at 04:24 am PDT. Sun and Moon are in Revati nakshatra, the final star of the zodiac, signifying endings and beginnings. This is the mark of the Vedic Lunar New Year and the beginning of the sacred nine day celebration of Navaratri. Durga is enlivened! The battle between good over evil intensifies in the coming days as the divine battle between Durga and the demon Mahishasura takes place. This battle occurs within every human being. The conflict between light and dark forces, polarities, is expressed through this sacred and timeless battle. It also mirrors the conflicts stirred between the masculine and feminine energies within. New Moon in Revati shares the support of Pushan with those who accept and receive his soft and gentle guidance. Pushan translates as "the nourisher" and through his resources, will help you flourish, prosper and grow. He requests gentle, subtle and thoughtful steps and honors inner sensitivity. As both Sun and Moon transit Revati, a sense of endings- for both masculine and feminine energy- is stirred. The soli/lunar energies within are seeking closure and completion. As doors close, trust the opening of new doors to follow. What are you saying yes to? What are you saying no to? Be conscious of your actions and choices. These karmas determine the fruits you will receive in the new cycle. A new Lunar year has begun! Ashwini brings strength through rejuvenation, healing and creativity. Use self care to hit your reset button and mark this fresh start. Navaratri begins at sunset! On this first day and night of Navaratri, notice what's arriving. I have noticed that the first three days of Navaratri initiate the changes and transformations we are working with in this release cycle. Often we must confront challenges and obstacles as a result. More nourishment and support is coming, but we can't receive it without this important step. What is arriving? What parts of your personal mythology are showing up as a mirror for you? Let Durga's fierce warrior energy initiate and provoke awareness. Emotionally, you may feel anger, pain, frustration or sadness emerge in the coming days. Physically you may need more rest or silence. Mentally you may need more inward reflection as well as time for meditation. Not only does the April new Moon coincides with the start of Navaratri, but the Vedic Lunar New Year as well. As Sun and Moon move through the final nakshatra of the zodiac, this sparks release and letting go, while ushering in openings and beginnings simultaneously. This will effect emotional body release, allowing creativity and fluidity to increase in life supporting ways if the channels can be cleared effectively. Use this sacred time to diligently clear, purge and release through the mental and emotional bodies. Patterns, behaviors and choices that no longer serve you must be let go of in order to create space for the new. The cycle ahead promotes integration of opposing forces, inner conflicts and polarities. Duality is the absence of harmony, integration and union. Where are these polarities effecting your strength, courage and power? Notice how the inner conflicts are are keeping you stuck, frozen, overwhelmed and using your vital life force energy in ways that keep you in struggle, lack and fear. Identify these inner battles and use resources and support to help you integrate and align your opposing forces. Understand that these inner conflicts will manifest externally as a way to intensify the mirror within. Any challenges with relationships, or the "other", are just a reminder to look more deeply within. Where are these outer difficulties a resource to identify your inner struggles? Polarities, including masculine and feminine dynamics, will be at strong odds in the cycle ahead. It's vital to address these places within head on. Use my New Moon Navaratri class below for extra support and guidance with this process. Step into your warrior spirit, your wild divine feminine wisdom, and allow her power to move through you. She is the receptive and can help you hear what you need to do- or not do- in order to find inner harmony. Where are these inner conflicts keeping you from receiving more nourishment, support, guidance and wisdom? Give your self space to pause and listen. To receive the abundance that surrounds you. Move too quickly, force or rush to achieve and gain or experience an outcome, and this will disconnect you from your potency and inner knowing, from Her divine wisdom and support. Go slow and allow the sacred to move through you and transform you. As you attend to and unravel your inner feminine intelligence in the coming days, you are preparing for harmonizing and aligning with your masculine energies in a more balanced way. Attend to Her needs and Her wisdom first, then the structuring support of the masculine can attend to Her in a more integrated and harmonious way. The Vedic New Year officially begins on the 13th of April, as the Navaratri celebration comes to a close. Sun moving to the first sign of the zodiac, its sign of exaltation, Aries, marks the beginning of the solar renewal within. Immense power and potency is available at this time.
