Themes of nourishment, home and heart continue through the first part of August, sparked by this month's new Moon. The August New Moon arrives August 2nd at 14:45 MDT, while transiting its own sign Cancer and Ashlesha nakshatra. The focus on Cancer invites an emotional, heart centered focus for the coming waxing cycle. Energy moves in the direction of feelings, heart, home, comfort and grounding. Libra is on the ascendant at the time of the New Moon, asking for balance- inner and outer, with self and others. Relationships become a focus for this cycle, while gains come from the heart and home. There's a need to be in co-creation, building teams, support systems and alliances. Invite in more support and security. Increase your connections and reach out. Seek community and resources that enliven your grounding cord. Find integration with your nourishment and support. Ask for what you need and be very clear with your self expression. If you aren't getting your needs met, you must first clarify your needs and then learn how to express them more effectively. Gather what you need for more resiliency and power. This cycle will remind you how powerful your heart is. Increases and greater strength arrive with your heart-centered focus. Your job is to cut through the deception and illusions that are keeping you from self love. How is this darkness keeping you out of your power, purpose and dharma? This is a powerful time for awakening your strength and core values. Are you moving towards this place of inner knowing and awakening or away from it? What are you opening towards? What are you closing towards? The masculine, father, ego and power are resources for the weeks ahead. Jupiter's year long transit through Leo is coming to an end. Whenever a planet prepares to leave a sign, it becomes stronger. The lessons of the transit intensify and strengthen, as though offering one final chance to change and transform. The battle between Jupiter and Rahu continues to strengthen. This conflict is causing challenges both individually and globally. Masculine dynamics are intensifying and the confusion between light (Jupiter) and dark (Rahu) gets more challenging by the day. Your personal mythology connected to father, Sun, power, authority and ego are all experiencing the impact of this transit. Where is Leo located in your chart? This is where the power struggles are being activated. Jupiter is about to move into Virgo for an entire year. This will bring strong shifts for all. Ego and power challenges will be replaced with communication and commerce issues as this air sign takes center stage. For now, use the coming waxing cycle to maximize your heart power, inner energy and dharmic potential by finding your most essential core needs. Gather the resources and support necessary to find greater stability, support and strength. Gain from relationships as they are your most potent resource for healing, transformation and growth. If you're willing to do the challenging work to clear away toxicity, darkness and illusions within the heart, there is potential for increased love, passion and dharma. Your ability to remove the darkness within will determine how able you are to open new doors to self love. Part of you is still resisting stepping into your power more fully. What is holding you back? What is keeping you from shining brightly and sharing your love more consciously? Where are you playing small and still letting lack and scarcity make decisions for you? Let the healing begin by reaching within- before you reach out. Creative Ritual Expanding your container, your capacity to hold and to release, can physically and metaphorically be done through the breath. New Moon in Cancer will allowing you to enliven your heart, work intentionally with our emotional body, your capacity to feel, while also giving you new opportunities to work with healthy boundaries. The open and close dynamic of boundary work (yes and no) is signified by our inhale and exhale. Below is a breath dance, designed to enliven and maximize your breath awareness and your container for sensing and feeling. 1. Breath Dance. Begin standing, lying down or sitting. Bring your awareness to your breath as it moves in and out of your body. Filling and letting go, opening and releasing, like waves moving in and out of the body. Track the movements and sensations in the body and let these guide you. The sensations will guide you into the physical body impulses, the messages of the body. As you continue to breathe and become more and more aware of the movements of the ribcase, let these movements exaggerate. These exaggerated movements are the making of your "breath dance". Continue to move from and with the movements of the ribcase as you breath. Explore, expand and develop your breath dance for at least 10 minutes. Let it evolve and as it does, continue to self track, noticing the body parts most alive and awake as you explore your body part sensations present. As you bring your breath dance to a close, ask yourself these questions: I sense, I feel, I imagine. 2. Create an image of your ribcase. What colors, textures, shapes and images arrive on the page as you draw your ribcase? I encourage you to get your hands involved in this process whether it be through painting directly with your hands, or smudging the craypas with your fingers. Let the hands be sensitized through the process. Get messy. Let the hands and fingers fully engage in this image. (Working with clay may be an alternate medium to work with). Title your image. Take at least 15 minutes for this. 3. Harvesting. When your image is complete, use it to harvest with further inquiry by asking it these questions: Ask your image if it has anything it would like to share with you: If your image could speak, what would it say? I am I want I need What am I opening to? What am I closing to? * All timing is in Mountain Daylight Time.
