The May new Moon occurs on the 4th at 16:46 MT while Moon is transiting Aries and Bharani nakshatra. This is a cycle of rebirthing, releasing and powerful transformation. There may be laboring in the process of this birthing, but trust that something new is emerging. It will be worth your effort. Something is dying within you. Let it go and create space for the new. This May new Moon in Aries signals a fresh start, a new beginning and a process of opening to a brand new cycle. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. Exalted Sun is here until mid month, while Mercury has just entered a new annual cycle as well. As the Moon empties, releases and darkens, it is signaling the shift towards a new phase of life- physically, mentally and emotionally. Bharani nakshatra is ruled by Yama, lord of death and king of dharma. He determines your karmas at the time of death and encourages self control, restraint and right action. Through alignment with dharma, Yama supports your afterlife and rebirth process. Those who go against Yama will receive the wrath of Natural Law. He judges, rules and enforces the Laws of Nature with unwavering fierceness. Only dharma can win over Yama. His judgement is based on your actions and service in this life. In the waxing cycle to come, you will be asked to let something die. Yama will ask you to rebirth, transform and start anew. You will not be able to do this without letting something go. This process of release will be more painful if you resist or refuse the release taking place. Accept the transformation and allow the changes to arrive. This is a powerful time to declare your powerful intentions for your dharmic path and purpose. Upgrade your actions, choices and behaviors in order to get new, more life supporting results. Clear old, mental programing and thought patterns keeping you stuck in lack and fear. The current transits are supporting an ego-identity shift and the release of very old, ancient structures. Your ability to achieve a positive shift will be determined by your willingness to show up and do the necessary work. Yama's offerings take effort, clarity, focus and a fierce focus on one's service to humanity. Mercury moves out of debilitation and through the tricky gandanta of Ashwini nakshatra just before the New Moon on May 4th. Mercury has been debilitated in Pisces on and off since the end of February. This has caused immense challenges with finances, creativity, imagination, communication and the mental body. If you are under the influence of Mercury, this cycle has likely been particularly challenging. Mercury moves to Aries on May 3rd, completing a year long transit around the zodiac. As this cycle closes, he crosses the threshold between Pisces (water) and Aries (fire), going through intense purification in the process. A cycle has closed. Endings and release are taking place. Make this finale conscious. There is a new beginning taking place with all things Mercury so make it intentional. What needs to be released, closed, grieved? What parts of the mind need your attention in order to start anew? Clean up the mental body and repattern old stories. Your mind and it's outdated programming need an upgrade. And so does your money. As Mercury enters Aries, he joins exalted Sun here for two weeks until Sun moves to Taurus. This combination can bring immense clarity, focus and determination. Set goals and achieve them. Clarify your direction, take action steps that align you with your passions and purpose. Don't miss this energy, but avoid burnout as well. The most auspicious day of the year is May 7th, Akshaya Tritiya. Both Sun and Moon will be exalted. It is said that only positive outcomes can emerge on this day, that there can be no harm. All actions will be fruitful and yield positive results. Luck, success and powerful results occur when you align with the strength of this day. Plan accordingly. This is a powerful day to take action steps towards your biggest desires. Nature will be ready to support you! Stay aligned with the transits and your dharmic path. Join my Embodied Dharma FB Group! Creative Ritual My Creative Rituals are intended to support your transformation and growth for the cycle to come. Each ritual is in alignment with the cosmic tides- in order to help you adjust, shift and move more fluidly in balance with Nature's rhythms. Recycle this ritual more than once for added benefits. 1) Answer these questions in your journal: What am I opening to? What am I closing to? 2) Use craypas, paints, pencils or collage, to create your images. Create one image for Opening and another for Closing. What does this opening feel like for you? What does this closing feel like? What colors, shapes, textures arrive? Put this on paper. Create images that express the feeling of opening to and closing, using colors, textures and shapes. Allow at least 20 minutes at for these image to emerge. Title your images. 3) Movement exploration. With your images in front of you, take 5 to 10 minutes to move each image. How does your body respond to your opening image? Your closing image? Let your body move in response to the colors, textures, shapes and feelings provoked through your image. As you come to a pause, closing your exploration process, answer these questions: I sense I feel I imagine I am on a mission to help motivated sensitive gifted women connect with their inner truth and inner wisdom. The April full Moon arrives early on the 19th while Moon is transiting Libra and Chitra nakshatra. At 05:12 am the Moon is full of light and at capacity. Coinciding with this full Moon is Hanuman Jayanti, celebrated birth date of the powerful and beloved monkey god. This is an important cycle to find more balance, integration, and make your visions a reality. Sun is exalted in Aries and Venus remains exalted in Pisces as well. Activate, align and receive! Clarify and focus your aim and direction. Be proactive and get results. Chitra nakshatra is ruled by Vishvakarma, god of action, building and creating. He is considered the celestial architect as he created and built the zodiac. He is a powerful ally for supporting your visions, dreams and desires as he helps them materialize and come into form through your action steps. He is not lazy and does not give results to those who are not actively working towards their goals and desires. Vishvakarma is action oriented and very focused on receiving the fruits of his labors. It's time to put plans into action. Are you actively moving towards your goals and desires at this time? Are you being proactive and taking conscious steps towards your dharmic path and purpose? The April full Moon takes place with Hanuman Jayanti, celebrated birth day of Lord Hanuman, the beloved monkey god. He and his monkey army saved Sita from the wrathful demon, Ravana, and brought her home safely to Ayodhya and Lord Raam. Hanuman is a Rudra- meaning he has immense strength, power and sheer force available to him. This strength was given to him by Vayu, the wind god- father to both Bhima and Hanuman. Hanuman reminds us of righteous action and that we must use our power and strength for conquering evil and restoring balance- while always upholding dharma. His devotion to Lord Rama expresses deep bhakti, and the power of leading with the heart. Your true strength is your heart wisdom. Navaratri has ended now. This is the time of year when Sun completes a year long cycle around the zodiac and activates a brand new solar cycle. Sun entered Aries on Sunday, April 14th, arriving in Ashwini nakshatra and his sign of exaltation. The Sun is the center of our solar system. He rules over the light cycles and natural rhythms. He brings the dawn, the day, the growth that comes from his life light. As Sun enters his most powerful placement of the zodiac, a fresh start and powerful beginning takes place. This Sun transit activates a new year in the Vedic calendar and the immense power of the Sun offers a surge of new energy and strength. This is a wonderful time to cleanse the body, mind and spirit. Clean, clear and purge the heaviness of the past year and clear away the undigested emotions lingering. Create space for the new and burn away the excess. Clean up your diet, take time to rejuvenate, and clarify your focus and direction in life. Just after the Sun exalts in Aries, we get the power of yet another exalted planet. Venus moves to Pisces on April 15th, joining debilitated Mercury here. Fortunately these two planets are friendly to each other, however, their opposing strengths will express extremes. Mercury is turning inward in his least favorite sign, while Venus expresses her energy externally at maximum capacity. This is an interesting juxtaposition for creativity, romance, the feminine, beauty, art, love, harmony and finances. Watch for excess, over indulgences and extremes with these areas of your life. Use the coming month to get clear, refocus your priorities and clarify your dharmic path. Set goals, honor your intentions and align your actions with more purpose. Simultaneously find more balance, creativity and nourishment in your life. Find the joy and say yes to more pleasure. With the potential for expansion also comes the challenges of two retrograde planets who are asking us to re-visit some very old ground. The coming cycle brings shifts with Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter has been retrograde since April 10th and will re-enter Scorpio on April 23rd. Saturn will also go retrograde on April 30th for a lengthy return through Sagittarius. Saturn and Ketu continue to move into close conjunction, preparing for a collision. This is a long cycle of heavy Saturn forcing us to return to grief that has been undigested and undervalued. Pay attention. These transits create challenges with old, established structures and foundations as well as support, guidance and wisdom. We are all living on shaky ground right now. Strengthening your support team and gathering more resources is vital. The area of life that is getting restructured will depend on where Sagittarius lives in your jyotish chart. Expect the unexpected in this area of your life. Read more about Ketu in Sagittarius. I think it's important to acknowledge that the entire world is going through massive structural changes that can feel unsettling and painful. Increased compassion is necessary for all, as well as diligence with grief work and inner transformation. This is in important time to have an emergency plan in place and not be foolish with actions and choices. Less is more. As Jupiter moves back through Scorpio, he is asking you to revisit your shadows, illusions and vulnerabilities. There is important clean up to do in the area of your life where Scorpio lives in your jyotish chart. Jupiter represents wisdom, guidance, teachers and spiritual resources. Gather more of what you need to navigate this process of release. You will be asked to dive even deeper into your unconscious terrain and release patterns, blockages and behaviors that are very old. You will need more support for this process so don't try to do it alone. Gather what you need and be proactive. There are challenges and resources with the current transits. Honor the waves and be diligent with clearing and releasing. Ask for more but be realistic about the steps that need to be taken in order to achieve the results you want. Strengthen the holding and support you have in your life and don't walk alone. Are you a gifted sensitive woman seeking more clarity for your dharmic path?! What does it say? 2) Open your eyes and take your body harvest into an image. Create an image of this power in your body. Use craypas, paints, collage or any other medium that inspires you. April begins with a poignant new Moon that also opens the nine day and night celebration of the Divine Feminine, Navaratri. This is an important time in the Vedic Calendar that acknowledges the awakening taking place in Nature. Shakti is increasing and the power of the Divine Mothers is enlivening. It is a turning point, a transition- ripe with potential and possibility. Use this time wisely to start creating, growing, and stretching yourself in new ways. The Divine Feminine is with you! The new Moon occurs early on Friday, April 5th at 02:51 am MT while Moon is transiting Pisces and Revati nakshatra. Moon is at the edge of the zodiac, asking you to find closure, release and create a finale with the last cycle. Attending to grief, loss and hidden emotions will be important at this time. Be willing to look at your shadow and lift the stones of illusion keeping you stuck in the darkenss. Doors are closing. Are you honoring the process of letting go properly? Are you making space for the new? At the same time immense potential is available. Be intentional with what you are creating. Revati nakshatra is the last constellation of the zodiac. Its ruling deity, Pushan, helps make travels prosperous and nourishing. He supports the path and allows receiving, abundance, and offers resources for greater support and guidance. As an Aditya, he is a provider of prosperity on the material plane of existence. He helps those that are lost find their purpose and he will redirect you towards your path. He is the shepherd that finds the lost sheep and brings them back to the herd. He protects and nourishes all paths and will help you find the hidden treasures on the journey. Honor his wisdom and acknowledge his support for your path. He especially likes to be fed easily digestible foods like porridge. Bring some to your altar and ask for his blessings during the new Moon. This new Moon is an opening- awakening the power of the Divine Feminine and the nourishment of Navaratri. As the new Moon arrives, Navaratri begins. This year spring Navaratri (for the Northern Hemisphere) begins April 5th and completes on April 13th with Ram Navami, the celebrated birth day of Lord Ram. The Navaratri celebration is an expression of what is taking place within Nature, through the Laws that govern Nature, marking an important transition within us and around us. Align with Nature and Her powerful energy of change and transformation during Navaratri. Ritualize your connections with Nature and the ancestors- in order to land more closely to your own inner wisdom, to Her wisdom. Strengthen your connection to self and Spirit. Navaratri is a poignant time in the Vedic Calendar. This ancient calendar is one that is dedicated to Nature and her cycles and rhythms, the planets, and most importantly the Moon. In the Vedic Calendar, time is connected to what Nature and the cosmos are doing as these elements are intimately related. The main Navaratri celebrations occur twice a year- in the "gap" seasons of spring and fall. These times are considered sandhi times; delicate times that feel like you are neither here, nor there. We might call it the netherworld. This time, though delicate, is considered sacred. Use this time to nurture the seeds of your creations and desires. Activate and align with your dharmic path. Take steps that move you closer to your nourishment and inner wisdom. Connect with your ancestors and Spirit in intimate ways. Think big and allow your transformation to take place. Where are you settling and resisting change? The Divine Mothers are supporting your growth and transformation process. Nature is awakening her wisdom- within you and your life. Are you allowing this change process to take place? Are you actively engaging and participating in this awakening process? Don't keep sleeping. It's time to wake up! Read More About the Sacred Celebration of Navaratri. April promises extremes as Jupiter makes his funky dance through Sagittarius. Most of April Jupiter transits Mula nakshatra, ruled by the goddess of Adharma. She is notorious for creating unnecessary chaos and uprooting. Jupiter conjuncts Saturn and Ketu in this process which causes even more extremes and even more restructuring. At the same time, we are still getting used to Ketu and Rahu in new signs. Our shadows have moved and we are seeing ourselves and others in very different ways. Read More Here Midway through the month, Sun begins a brand new cycle through the zodiac, arriving in his exaltation sign, Aries, on April 14th. Venus also exalts this month on the 15th, increasing the possibility of excess with water and indulgences. Stay on path and don't fall off. Keep goals in sight and actively move towards them. To top it all off, both Jupiter and Saturn retrograde, promising some powerful returns, stops and starts. There are highs and lows with this month and this is your reminder to stay as grounded as possible. Keep life extremely simple- even though temptations for over-indulgence and excess may be pressuring you otherwise. Gather the resources, support and guidance you need to weather the extremes. Creative Ritual During Navaratri, the veil between the Spirit world and the Material world is thin. This is a powerful time to access the wisdom of Nature and the gifts of the ancestors. Be intentional with how you use your time, energy and creativity in the coming sacred nine days and nights. Spend time with your ancestors and use ritual to support this connection. Stay close to your body, breath and inner wisdom. This is an important time to create your vision and transform it into reality. Use this sacred celebration to clear, release, purge and let go of grief, limiting beliefs, blockages and shadows that are keeping you stuck. It's time to lighten up the path and declare your purpose! Use these resources to align with your ancestors and strengthen your connection to Spirit. 1) Here are six ways to feed the ancestors and create a deeper relationship with them through ritual. 2) Use my Ancestor Podcast to deepen your relationship with the ancestors and Spirit. Discover their messages and the ways they are supporting you. I am on a mission to help sensitive souls connect with their inner truth and inner wisdom. To connect with purpose and dharma. Every week I offer two *free* dharma coaching sessions to action takers who are ready for deep life change. Is this you?! Book Your Session: Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The March Full Moon occurs on the 20th at 19:42 MDT while Moon transits Uttaraphalguni and sidereal Virgo. This Full Moon coincides with the Vedic fertility festival of Holi, enlivening vitality, life force energy and creativity. Uttaraphalguni is a constellation that correlates to the ancestors. It gives powerful, creative life force energy and resources that support and sustain lineage. Aryaman rules this portion of the sky, offering resources like love, marriage, family, children, and that which perpetuates the ancestral line. Life force energy is enlivened here, which brings to life ones desires and helps them arrive into manifest form. What seeds are you planting right now? Rahu and Ketu have now changed signs for the next 1.5 years, causing massive shifts in our karma. The Vedic celebration of Holi, often roughly coincides with the vernal equinox and the arrival of spring (for the Northern Hemisphere and fall for the Southern Hemisphere). The Equinox arrives on March 20th this year with Holi the next day. Holi is a Vedic fertility celebration which sparks immense creative life force energy. Potential, possibility and creative power are enlivening. Step into your Divine Feminine power! Ask your ancestors to guide you with the process of creating and manifesting your desires. "On the equinox, night and day are nearly the same length – 12 hours – all over the world. This is the reason it's called an “equinox”, derived from Latin, meaning “equal night.” However, in reality, equinoxes don't have exactly 12 hours of daylight. Earth's axis is tilted at an angle of about 23.4° in relation to the ecliptic plane, the imaginary plane created by the Earth's path around the Sun. On any other day of the year, either the Southern Hemisphere or the Northern Hemisphere tilts a little towards the Sun. But on the two equinoxes, the tilt of the Earth's axis is perpendicular to the Sun's rays." - Time and Date No matter the hemisphere you are in, both spring and fall are considered "sandhi" times of year- or in between seasons. These are sacred times, when the veil is thin and sensitivity is heightened. From an Ayurvedic perspective, we attend to necessary physical rituals that help the body cleanse and purify. Holi comes at this sacred junction and is a time to "plant seeds" so to speak. It is a celebration of fertility, abundance and the awakening of Shakti within Nature. The full enlivening of the Divine Feminine, is celebrated during Vasant Navaratri- the nine days of Mother Divine- which begins on April 4th this year. Consider Holi the "kick off" celebration. Use this time to plant your seeds of desire. Honor the sense of spring and possibility, hope and awakening. Deep transformation and turmoil are taking place with this full Moon and in the cycle to come. This waning cycle offers more focus and precision. A new clarity is emerging, but you must create it. Pull up the weeds crowding your vision and uproot the parts of yourself that are holding you back from greater empowerment. You may have confusion about your power and purpose, but use this time to create a clear path and remove the rubble. Let go of the parts of yourself that hinder you from stepping into your power more fully. Dream big! Allow yourself to expand what you think is possible for yourself. Where are you limiting yourself? What stories have you been telling yourself that keep you stuck and playing small? What is holding you back from full manifestation of your goals, dreams and desires? The mental body stories stuck on repeat in your unconscious mind, must be brought to the light, released and transformed- in order for you to step into a more powerful future. Cut, clear and delete the stories that are keeping you from powerful action steps. Gains come when you radically release the addiction to scarcity consciousness and lack. You deserve more nourishment. Clear away the parts of yourself that don't yet feel deserving or capable of greater power. How long has this painful story been on repeat? How long will you keep playing it? Use the cycle ahead to get radical, clear, focused and determined. Confront your goals head on. What is in your way of accomplishment and greater power? Uproot the old weeds in your mind and plant new seeds of life and nourishment. Get creative! Expand the possibilities you see for yourself- but keep it simple. There is something within you that needs to be healed and released so you are free to move forward. Pay attention to your heart wisdom for insights. Creative Ritual My Creative Rituals are intended to support your transformation and healing process in the cycle to come. Each ritual is in alignment with the cosmic tides- in order to help you adjust, shift and move more fluidly in balance with Nature's rhythms. Recycle this ritual more than once for added benefits. Similar to exalted planets in that they are "full" and can't be "added to", a Full Moon (or Purnima) means that it is full to capacity, there is no more room for it to expand and grow; it is complete. In this way, we can interpret the Full Moon as a "New Moon" in that it marks the beginning of a new cycle of emptying itself and refilling itself (mirroring our internal process). Beginning a lunar month at the Purnima is called Suklanta and differs from starting the count from the New Moon (Amavasya) which is the point when the Moon is empty and is waiting to be filled by the Sun. Purnima is in the middle of the Lakshmi phase of the Moon cycle whereas Amavasya is the moment during the cycle where Kali and Durga meet. Clearly, the energy is quite different; mirrored in our internal experience as well. These different methods of starting the lunar calendar remind me of the saying "is your glass half empty or half full?!" When do we start our "New Moon" calendar and begin our new lunar month? When we are full and satisfied or when we are empty and needing to be nourished? It is with this question in mind that I came up with this week's Creative Engagement Activity. Read more about the importance of the Moon. Often for a New Moon or a Full Moon, I like to work with the image of a mandala. Mandalas help us to create and express fullness, to fill empty space, to work with what is. Mandalas are a container, filled, with our visions, creativity and desire- much like a metaphor for life. 1) With this idea of "creating within a container" as well as half the image of full/empty, I invite you to draw two large circle shapes on a piece of paper. Cover up one of the circles with a sheet of paper while you create within the other. 2) The theme for this first circle is "being filled". Fill in the first circle with what you desire for the cycle to come. What do you want to be filled with? 3) When you feel complete with the first circle, look at both circles on your paper. One is "full" and one is "empty". What thoughts come to you? What feelings? Then answer these statements under your first circle: I am, I want, I need 4) Next, begin working on the second circle. The theme for this circle is "being emptied". What are you releasing and letting go of as you move into the cycle to come? 5) When you feel complete, write a few notes down. What do you notice as you look at the entire piece? What thoughts come to you? What feelings? Then answer these statements under your first circle: I am, I want, I need 6) Finally, harvest your thoughts on this process. Circle ten words that leap out at you from the writing you've done. Form these words into a three to five line poem. (Adding extra words is ok). Share your poem below! * Extra credit for dancing (embodying) your images and poem at some point this week. Ask for the help you need- in order to truly transform your life!
I help sensitive, gifted women deepen their self trust and awaken their dharmic wisdom, so they can shine brightly in this world. Together, I believe we can transform this planet. Every week I offer two free dharma coaching sessions to women who are ready to strengthen their path and become the leaders of their life. Is this you? Email me to book your session: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com Shivaratri arrives this year on March 4th just before the new Moon (Amavasya) on March 6th. This is a time of deep silence and strong potential. It is the marriage celebration of Shiva and Shakti, a symbolic union of wholeness- when the absolute unmanifest, conjoins with the pulse of life force energy. Masculine and feminine merge and create life- and the ability to manifest becomes amplified. From this place of union, we can ignite the power of being, the power of life. Transformations abound right now- inner and outer. Are you paying attention to polarities in your life? What dualities are you aware of and what is needed for their integration? This is a powerful time for meditation and reciting the Mrityunjaya Mantra: oṁ tryambakaṁ yajāmahe sugandhiṁ puṣṭi-vardhanam ǀurvārukam-iva bandhanān mṛtyormukṣīya māmṛtāt ǁ Shivaratri supports planting seeds of potential through the depth of silence. Shiva as destroyer, is at one with this awakened state of creativity. His role is to support your collapse into concentrated, focused alignment with the harmony of existence- that which is pure consciousness, deep, unaltered silence and awakening. This is where your creativity resides, your ability to manifest, create and transform- over and over again. Through the transcendence, you can easily touch this silence in its pure form. Shiva reminds us to use this silence to release, simplify and transform. From a silent and awakened state, you can plant the seeds of life more intentionally and powerfully. Use your deep inner silence for stirring your creative desires. Next, the fertility festival of Holi, will activate your silent seeds, helping them become more fully awakened with the creative wisdom of Nature. What are you creating for your powerful life? What is your vision? Let your imagination move you into being. Create life! The March new Moon takes place at 09:04 am MT while transiting Aquarius and Purvabhadra nakshatra. This is the realm of the sky ruled by Ajaikapada, a form of Shiva standing on one foot. There is a strong need for balance and integration of opposing forces in this domain. Two realms are represented- both material and spiritual. The power of Rudra and the creative strength of Vishvakarma express themselves in this nakshatra. Restraint and tapas are necessary, while simultaneously great material wealth is possible. This constellations offers a foot in both worlds and those born with this constellation often have success with both the spiritual and material realms. Balancing the impossible is in fact possible under this constellation, though great strength is required. The symbol of this nakshatra is a burning funeral cot. Endings and release are taking place. Purification and death support deeper understandings of life and bring greater awareness to the wholeness of existence. In this waxing cycle, your strength will be required in order to balance opposing forces, integrate polarities, and harmonize inner conflicts. Dark and light require your equal attention. Are you holding both- shadow and light- equally? Material progress is possible in the days ahead, but attend to spiritual matters for deeper purpose. Burn away the excess and simplify all areas of your life. It's time to purify and release what has been feeling heavy and burdensome. It takes much less energy to be in right relationship with all parts of ourselves- rather than resist and avoid. Hold both your darkness and your light, honor all of your being. This is why your shadow is so important. As we enter this new lunar cycle, multiple changes are taking place in the cosmos. Mercury is debilitated in Pisces and goes retrograde on the 5th. Rahu and Ketu change signs for the next 1.5 years on March 7th, causing upheaval, change and new levels of resistance. The relationship with our karma is shifting and will bring vastly different results in the months ahead. Jupiter is at the edge of Scorpio right now, preparing for his unusual dance into Sagittarius before he retrogrades until this fall. Listen to my FB Live Class for more about the life changing transit of Rahu and Ketu. We are straddling the edge of major change and life may feel uncertain, vulnerable and tumultuous in the days ahead. Keep life as simple as possible and prune away any excess. Clean your life up and stop over-doing, over-giving, and over-being. Challenges will surface where we are being unconscious. Less is more. Creative Ritual Use this Creative Ritual for supporting integrating and harmonizing your polarities: 1) Identify the polarities at play within you and your life. Make two distinct lists. What are the challenges that you face right now? What is not working right now in your life? What are the resources in your life right now? What is working well for you right now? Name each category and see if you can identify the theme of each polarity that is arriving. 2) Create two images. One image is your challenge image. The other image is your resource image. Spend 10-20 minutes creating each image. Use craypas, paints, pens, collage or any medium that speaks to you. Title each image separately. Then ask each image to give you their message. If this image could speak, what would it say to you? 3) Harvest from each image. Answer these questions for each image separately. I am, I want, I need I sense, I feel, I Imagine, I express What have you harvested from this process? What does each part of you say? What does each part of you need? Deepen this process by using my Tapping Meditation for integrating polarities I help sensitive women become the leaders of their lives.
I am on a mission to help sensitive souls (like you) clarify your inner truth and inner wisdom. To connect with your powerful purpose and innate leadership skills. We need you now more than ever! Every week I offer two free Dharma Coaching sessions to sensitive, gifted women who are ready for life change. Is this you? Email me to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com On the 19th of February at 08:53 am MT, a full Moon in Leo and Magha nakshatra arrives, offering big waves and ancestral support. Wisdom and spiritual insights for your path are present. Use this time to create a connection with Spirit and avoid the material concerns of the ego. This is an important time to strengthen your relationship with your ancestors and realign with your dharmic path. Remember that the ancestors want your dharmic success. They are here to support you in achieving the healing and transformation possible for you and your lineage. Clarify your purpose and recommit to your steps. Magha nakshatra is ruled by Pitr, which means ancestors (particularly the father's lineage) and falls within the first portion of the sign Leo. It is considered a gandanta, of which there are three of in the zodiac. Each gandanta creates uprooting on the psycho-emotional body level- so we know that these junction points bring change and transformation with them. Magha gives results with our relationship to power, purpose and the ego identity. This constellation correlates to inner and outer authority, as well as both individual and ancestral karma. Those born with this constellation in their natal charts usually have a great deal of ancestral karma to unpack in this lifetime- particularly with the father. Magha reminds us to align with dharma, purpose, power, and clear our ancestral karma. This full Moon signifies an immense change with our inner power. There is a break in past karma taking place. Are you paying attention to the release of your shadow, or are you consumed with the challenges and overwhelm? Use this time to consciously clear and release negativity, burdens, toxicity and anything that is disempowering you. Focus on the direction you want to go and clarify the results you want to achieve. Make goals and be vigilant with your actions and choices. Do they support your focus and direction, or distract you and derail you? Remember that you have enormous power and potential. You have a purpose and many gifts that are needed in this world. Your wisdom, insights and light are a vital resource for reminding others to shine brightly. Stay close to your light and commit to shining even brighter. Temper the ego, but stay close to your truth and wholeness- shadow and light. Look for sudden flashes of insight and awareness around the time of the full Moon. Clarify your vision and release the shadows obstructing your view. From Aquarius, Sun and Mercury look at the Moon during this full Moon, creating mental clarity and focus. Use this to write down your goals and intentions for the coming cycle. In Sagittarius, Venus and Saturn are in tight conjunction until February 24th when Venus moves to Capricorn. Venus and Saturn are asking us to simplify our relationships, money and life force energy. Saturn will not support anything but simplicity, slow and steady steps, as well as methodical and consistent effort. When Saturn and Venus collide, a structure is given to the flow of watery Venus. Your job is to clarify the pathway and clear the rubble in the way of the flow. Where are you making things more difficult than they need to be? Relationships, money and health need more simplicity and structure. Sun has moved to Aquarius for the coming month- as of February 13th. Sun joins Mercury here until the 25th so expect a sharp mind in the coming weeks. Saturn gives his gaze, asking for slow, methodical behavior. Expect innovation and entrepreneurial insights in this transit. Think outside the box and focus your light on seeing all sides. Duality and differences emerge. How do you honor all the needs arriving? Aquarius requests structure and tradition, as well as different and unusual choices. This sign reminds us there are two sides to every coin. Can we find the wholeness? How do we attend to the integration and unification of opposing forces? Spend time this month integrating the duality within you and your personal mythology. Shine the light on binary patterns and behaviors. What parts of you need more harmony and unity? Wherever there are two opposing forces, we find conflict. Now is an ideal time to create peace within. Attend to shadow parts and lean closer to your darkness. Let the light show you the way. Hold both equally and honor your full body intelligence. Notice where Aquarius is in your Jyotish chart. What themes will be illuminated as Sun enters this part of your chart?! Don't Forget that we have a major transit on the horizon! Rahu and Ketu are getting ready to change signs on March 7th. Rahu will move to Gemini and Ketu will move to Sagittarius. Both will be exalted for the next 1.5 years- meaning the karmic nodes will be expressing themselves at maximum capacity. Ketu will also be conjunct Saturn for the coming year, breaking up stagnant grief and forcing restructuring in our lives in some very dramatic ways. To assess the impact of this transit, look at your jyotish chart. Where is Sagittarius in your chart? This is where Ketu will be cutting the ties that bind you and forcing release. What themes are present here? Look at Gemini in your chart. This is where Rahu will be transiting and forcing you to look more closely. He will be asking you to attend to the shadows and illusions in this realm of your life. Likely you are already feeling these shifts taking place. In advance of a major transit like this, the effects are often felt weeks and months ahead of time. What themes are surfacing already? Pay attention to the karmic shifts taking place in your life and body. This is a good time to get yagyas done for extra support. I'll be sharing more in an upcoming article about this powerful transition ahead. Not sure how this major transit will impact you? What would it look like to be the leader of your life? What needs to change? What feels in alignment already? Where do you want to be six months from now?! Step 1: Write down your vision. Journal it into your full awareness. Step 2: Create your vision. Draw, paint or collage your vision into form. Give it a title. Step 3: Harvest your vision. If your image could speak to you, what would it say?! Step 4: Make your vision a reality. What steps need to take place for your vision to become a reality six months from now?! What action step can you take today?! Ready for More?! 5 Ways to Step Into Your Power Right now: 1) The point of power is in the now, this moment right now. You won't truly know the power of this moment without establishing a deeper sense of Self awareness. What is arriving right now within your inner landscape? What do you need right now in order to deepen your sense of reconnection? Do a Self audit. Self track every day. 2) Loosen the grip of triggers and painful stories. Move the mind and emotions and don't let them get stuck in your unconscious mind. Use my Tapping Meditation to take back your power, get embodied and hear the wisdom of your inner knowing. 3) Track the planets and know what's impacting you right now. A deeper Self awareness comes from understanding the influences upon you. Then you can properly resource yourself. Knowing how the planets are impacting your mind, body and emotions, is a powerful step in bringing light (jyoti) to your conscious awareness. Jyotish prevents unnecessary suffering and helps you align with right action and choices. Track the planets daily, weekly, and monthly. 4) Study the layers of your inner wisdom. Know thyself. Your jyotish chart is the most potent resource of identification and self exploration you will ever receive. It is the map of your soul, shows you your life purpose, your reason for being alive. The short cut to understanding who you are and why you are alive, can be found through studying your jyotish chart. All the wisdom you need for greater, clarity and ease is written within your cosmic map. Deepen your jyotish studies and awaken your inner knowing with this. 5) Commit to your self growth and say yes to new resources and guidance. Consistent guidance and support makes the difference between success and failure in this life. You can't get new results when you continue to do the same thing and make the same choices. Lasting sustainable change comes when you start changing old patterns and stop repeating old behaviors. Big life changes occur when you get ongoing guidance and support, new resources and tools for success. Waning Moon and new Moon energy is slower, inward and dark. We may notice that in this part of the Moon cycle, our emotional body feels the darkness more acutely. This is the part of the monthly cycle when we should attend to our grief, release, and clearing away of excess. Amavasya, or the new Moon, sparks potential, possibility and creativity. What possibilities are alive within you? What darkness needs to be confronted? Four planets collide in Capricorn at the time of the New Moon- Moon, Sun, Mercury and Ketu. All are getting the restructuring impact of moksha planet Ketu. Mind, body, soul, and emotions are in a change process. Vulnerability is arriving simultaneously. Slow down and attend to the necessary actions and choices that can support this change. Vishnu is the god of dharma- that which sustains and maintains order in the universe. The constellation of Shravana is his domain, which allows the passing of knowledge and wisdom- usually through sound. In ancient Vedic times, dharma was passed through oral tradition until eventually it became written word. The new Moon and waxing cycle ahead supports the power and strength of your dharmic path. Are you aligning with your dharma through your choices and actions? Are you moving closer to your passions and purpose, or further away? Who will listen? I proclaim with uplifted arms, Practice of Dharma leads to Artha (material prosperity) Kama (pleasure of life) and Moksha (liberation from karma), Do not be deaf to my cries! - Vyasa at the conclusion of the Mahabharata In the days following the new Moon, Mars crosses the gandanta between Pisces and Aries, beginning a new cycle for Mars on February 5th. Those under the influence of Mars (ruling planet, current dasha cycle, transiting influential houses) will especially feel the impact of a fresh start and the beginning of a new two year cycle ahead. Mars rules Aries and does well with its tenacity and focus on action until March 22nd. Mercury will shift into Aquarius on February 6th, moving mind into more entrepreneurial and innovative ideas and projects. Think outside the box in the coming days and clarify your steps. We are at the edge of a major transit. Rahu and Ketu shift signs on March 7th, beginning a new 1.5 year transit for the karma nodes. Rahu moves to Gemini and Ketu moves to Sagittarius, where both will be exalted in the months ahead. Many are feeling the shift of the shadow nodes already. Karma is changing, forcing us to look at our shadows and liberation in new ways. I'll be sharing more about this transit in an upcoming article. For now, note that Rahu will be pulling you towards the themes of Gemini, whereas Ketu will be supporting release with all things Sagittarius, while in conjunction with Saturn. Look to the houses in your jyotish chart where Gemini and Sagittarius reside in order to identify insights and themes for this transformational cycle. These changes are already being felt. To get more insight for this new Moon and waxing cycle upon us, I pulled a card from my Vedic Tarot deck. The reminder comes from the suit of Arrows- which correlates to the element of air and the mental body. The Arrows depict powerful tales from the Mahabharata, an epic battle between two branches of one family. The Mahabharata reminds us that: "What is found here- is everywhere; What is not here- is found nowhere." - Veda Vyasa (around 1700 BCE) The Ace of Arrows begins the tale of Bheeshma, who is a strong thread throughout the Mahabharata. He possesses immense strength, courage and a heroic destiny. However, karma has a different outcome for him altogether. With the Ace of Arrows, immense power is available to us, but very few know how to manage it or use it fully. As a result, it gets misused, squandered, and can even destroy you. Spiritual growth is granted here, however, the changes and transformation involved can be traumatic and challenging. A reminder to gather your strength and courage, even in troubled and overwhelming times. Setbacks can be overcome, success and triumph achieved, however cutting away, releasing and being decisive in purging, will be required. Change will be inevitable as a certain phase of your life is officially concluding. This is the end of illusions and your old behaviors and immaturity will not be allowed moving forward. Be mindful that karma is being released in the cycle to come and it may be painful. Where are you resisting inevitable changes and losses? What needs to be released and let go of once and for all? What do you need to give up, to not allow in your life anymore? What intelligence do you need to call upon to move forward with more strength, courage and clarity? Email me to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The two week eclipse portal closes with a powerful Cancer full Moon and total solar eclipse. Emotions are bigger than normal, inner waves more extreme, and lunar intelligence at peak levels. This waxing cycle has brought challenges to the surface for re-evaluation. Your shadows have been intensifying parts of yourself that need greater awareness. It's time for an upgrade and a change in direction. Are you ready to pivot? The challenges surfacing are likely not new issues emerging, but rather old parts of yourself that have been ignored. Without intensification they likely won't get the attention that is required for transformation and healing. Now that your pain and discomfort has your focused attention, what needs to shift? Have you been paying attention to your shadow parts? What do you need to shift or change in your approach? What does your pain tell you about your deeper needs? On Sunday the 20th, the full Moon arrives at 22:16 MT while Moon is transiting its own sign, Cancer, and Pushya nakshatra. The lunar eclipse will already be under way. This total lunar eclipse begins at 19:36 PM and will complete at 00:48 MT on the 21st. The maximum eclipse occurs at 22:12 MT. This particular eclipse will be visible from Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean and the Arctic. From a Vedic perspective, it is not advised to be outside during an eclipse or to look directly at the eclipse. Wear a head covering if you have to be outside so you don't absorb the shadow. Ideally, this is a time for spiritual practices such as meditation, chanting and fasting. Set intentions and honor the sensitivity of this time. It is also widely recognized that during and between eclipses, starting new endeavors will not bring positive results. No new projects, relationships or activities should start in the eclipse portal. Notice what needs are arriving, then take action after the eclipse portal closes. Best to lay low, attend to spiritual pursuits, get extra rest and work with your inner shadow very consciously during this cycle. At the time of the full Moon, multiple planets give their gaze to the Moon. North shadow node, Rahu, conjuncts Moon- causing intensification of the emotional body as well as confusion, uncertainty and shadowed intelligence. Making big decisions leading up to the eclipse (and even days afterward) is not ideal. Jupiter, Mercury, Ketu and Sun give their drishti to the Moon at the time of the full Moon and eclipse. Moon energy is expansive yet distracted. Take time to ground, go slow and simplify your steps. This is not a time to push, force or take risks. In the days following the eclipse, you will likely notice a release, purging and clearing taking place. Expect some break through or new awareness to emerge. The clouds will part, the veil will lift, and the shadow will lessen. This is an important time to pay attention to needs that are surfacing and refocus. It's time for a life upgrade! Where are you playing small, or allowing victim behavior to disempower you? Release the lack, uncertainty and resistance to change. What steps can you take to move closer to your dreams, goals and desires? Pushya nakshatra is notorious for bringing the nourishment. The coming cycle can support you with gains- if you make space for them. Your willingness to clear and purge your shadows and wounds, will allow you to hold the new and invite in more of what you need. Wisdom, guidance, universal support and abundance comes with Pushya nakshatra. It is a benevolent star that allows for needs to be met. However, effort and alignment are required. Remember that needs can not be met if you do not know what they are. It's time to expand and ask for your big desires! Clarify needs, ask for your needs to be met, and be prepared to receive them. Your willingness to get clear will determine your capacity to attract, align and be more fully nourished. In the coming cycle, gains and growth present themselves. Say yes to expansion, increase and resources that support and strengthen your deep sense of nourishment. It's ok to ask for more of what you need. You are enough and you deserve the nourishment of life! Wondering what to focus on in 2019? Read my Sidereal Horoscopes. Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The January new Moon comes with a partial solar eclipse, opening a two week eclipse portal that will end on January 20th with a full lunar eclipse. This Sagittarius new Moon mirrors and magnifies the challenges taking place in this spiritual fire sign right now. Currently Sun and Mercury are in tight conjunction with the restrictive and oppressive Saturn energy- all transiting Sagittarius. Physical, spiritual and mental bodies are feeling the pressure and stress- causing fear, anxiety and forcing simplicity and pruning away of excess. As Moon transits Sagittarius and marks the emptying of the past cycle, she amplifies the intensity happening in the fiery, focused sign of Sagittarius which is often connected with dharmic pursuits. Are you on your dharmic path or off? Where are you feeling the pressure in your life? A reminder that wherever Saturn is putting pressure on you, he is asking for simplicity and alignment with natural cycles and rhythms. Where do you need to make some adjustments? There is no denying that this new year begins with layers of challenging planetary dynamics and the eclipse portal adds to the intensity. Eclipses always come in pairs. In between eclipses is a two week period of shadow work and challenges with our natal karma. This is a time period to be alert and aware of what challenges are surfacing and attend to release, transformation and liberation. Eclipses, and the cycle between eclipses, is not a time to start new projects or be reckless in actions and choices. These are spiritual time periods meant to support moksha and awakening- however often through intensity, upheaval and change. Individual themes for the eclipse cycle ahead can be seen from Sagittarius in your natal chart. Notice the house and themes that are offered from this part of your chart. These themes will be magnified and intensify as we move through the shadow work of this eclipse cycle. This new Moon occurs on the 5th at 18:27 MT with a partial solar eclipse beginning at 16:34 MT. The eclipse will end at 20:48 MT, while the maximum eclipse will be at 18:41 MT. This eclipse will not be visible for North America, only for northeast Asia. In the waxing cycle ahead, focus on your path and purpose. Sagittarius loves a one-pointed focus that has value, insight, spiritual purpose and powerful intentions for the greater good. Are you in alignment with your higher purpose or playing small and feeling insignificant? It's time to step up and play bigger- especially on the level of spirit. Align, awaken and co-create with nature, the ancestors and the spiritual realms. Allow spiritual wisdom and insights to influence you. Material pursuits and ego driven actions won't be supported right now. If you're having challenges and progress feels slow, it's time to make some adjustments. Spiritual and dharmic endeavors will be supported at this time but materialistic desires won't be. New Moon in PurvaAshada nakshatra welcomes transformation in the body and allows the inner waters to purify, release and clarify. Movement, yoga, dance, creativity and pleasurable activities will allow the emotional body to move from stagnation to fluidity. Are you supporting your emotional body intelligence or bypassing it? Emotions are connected to your inner waters. This is also your connection to creativity, nourishment, life force energy and wealth on all levels of life. Apas is the ruling deity of the constellation PurvaAshada. As the goddess of water, she supports purification on every level of life- either through gentleness or force. Water can be soft, misty rain, or forceful waves and stormy hurricanes. She can be immense flooding or a trickling stream. Without water, however, there is no life. Consider what needs purification and cleansing in your life. Where are you feeling the stagnation of your inner waters? How can you support the water of life to flow more freely in your body and life? Wondering what to expect in 2019? Read my new year horoscopes! Creative RitualThis Creative Ritual will also help you work directly with your challenges- emotion or otherwise. Take your challenge into a creative process and see what develops! Step #1 Movement Exploration. What emotion are you feeling? Is it anger, depression, frustration, chaos, uncertainty? Start dancing this emotion. What does it feel like in your body? Do the "dance of anger" for example. What emerges as you do your anger dance?! Remember to let sounds out! Move and develop your dance for at least minutes. When you feel a sense of closure, ask yourself these questions: I sense, I feel, I imagine. Step #2 Create an image of your emotion. What does it feel like? Put it on paper using colors, textures and shapes. Create an image that expresses your experience with this emotion and whatever emerged in your dance. Spend at least 5 to 20 minutes creating this image. I suggest using paints or craypas and a large piece of paper. Title your image. In your journal or on the back of the drawing answer this question: If your image could speak what would it say? Step #3 Harvesting. Answer these baseline statements and questions in your journal once you have completed the previous steps. I am___ I want___ I need___ What am I opening to? What am I closing to? Recycle this process whenever strong emotions emerge. Remember they arrive to give you important messages. Listen carefully and honor them with deeper listening. What is the emotion telling you? What do you need for deeper nourishment in your life? Listen to my Podcast "How to Befriend Your Emotional Body" Are You A Sensitive Soul?! I am on a mission to help sensitive souls (like you) clarify your inner truth and inner wisdom. To connect with your powerful purpose and innate leadership skills. We need you now more than ever! Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com Coinciding with the still point of the year, the December Full Moon comes in with a powerful roar in Ardra nakshatra. Winter Solstice (in the Northern Hemisphere) occurs on December 21st at 15:23 MT, a time when life seems to stop, or stand still. "The term Solstice comes from the Latin word solstitium, meaning 'the Sun stands still'. This is because on this day, the Sun reaches its southern-most position as seen from the Earth. The Sun seems to stand still at the Tropic of Capricorn and then reverses its direction. It's also common to call it the day the Sun turns around." - Via Time and Date As the still point arrives and the reversal of the light takes place, it is a powerful time for introspection and release. This is a time to attend to shadows, grief and undigested emotions. Clearing, purging and releasing lingering emotions from the past cycle will create space for the new, opening you to more life force in the months ahead. As the darkness strengthens right now, lean closer. Lean into your fears, challenges, pain and grief. Let it speak to you. Honor its wisdom and validity Remember that ignoring your darkness only makes it stronger. Your capacity to feel the joy of life is determined by how much grief you have in your body. The natural cycles of darkness support the healing and release of grief within your body- if you honor and acknowledge it. Pay attention to your darkness and listen carefully. The Sun (light) has just left Scorpio, the darkest of the twelve signs. He's now in the gap between Scorpio and Sagittarius in a notorious gandanta- Mula. You may be feeling this instability and uncertainty surface in your life right now. Notice it and don't turn away. What changes are needed in order to find more ground? With all the layers of darkness present right now, it's an important time for honesty- with ourselves and others. As we arrive at the still point of the year, deep presence is possible. What are you noticing? What do you see? What are you acknowledging- even though it's hard to look at? Be courageous in your presence. Honor the dark wisdom arriving. Show up for yourself and your shadow. Be with your darkness so you can find the other side, the light. The December Full Moon occurs hours after the transition of the Sun, occurring on the 22nd at 10:48 am MT. This is a particularly powerful full Moon as it takes place in the portion of the sky ruled by the storm god, Rudra. He is notorious for big emotional expression- the release of grief through anger, tears and violence. He brings big waves within the emotional body and activates release, purging and destruction. Rudra rules the portion of the sky called Ardra nakshatra which falls within the sign of Gemini. This constellation is considered Tikshna, which means sharp and dreadful. It cuts, severs and attacks. It is particularly useful when harsh, destructive or painful actions must be taken. Though Ardra nakshatra can offer immense pain and suffering, the relationship with grief must be acknowledged here. Suffering intensifies when we resist the darkness, the struggles, the pain and losses we experience. The intensity of Ardra nakshatra (and Rudra) occurs when the powerful emotional body within is ignored, suppressed, avoided or disconnected. The violent inner storms increase when the waves are not attended to regularly, when they are not honored or acknowledged as normal, valid and valuable parts of the human experience. Ardra nakshatra invites (or forces) us to look at our challenging emotions, our grief, so that it can be released and cleared. On the other side of this grief is space to feel something else- equally as powerful. The waning cycle ahead is a request to lean closer to your own darkness and shadow. Your grief, losses and struggles. It's a call for help, a beckoning from your emotional body wisdom. Do you lean closer or do you keep resisting the pain? What needs are surfacing? What does your emotional body tell you it needs? What shifts, changes or adjustments need to be made in order to get your needs met? Need clarity for the year ahead? Wondering what direction to take? It reminds you that a boundary has been crossed, that something feels unfair, that you have been wronged in some way. When you experience anger, there is an opportunity to find clarity about your needs and step into your power with more purpose. Far too often though, anger becomes an unconscious reactive emotion that never gets to truly serve its purpose- to wake you up! Right now, the planet and particularly the United States, is being called into action. So many are feeling very old, deeply embedded anger and rage rise to the surface. You may be feeling anger as a result of your own personal mythology, as well as a result of the collective consciousness. Allowing your anger to move through you is potent medicine. But even more important than it's movement, is actually harvesting from this emotion. Understanding the deeper layers of your anger can help you awaken to needs, more nourishment and empowerment. What you don't want to do is suppress your anger, or use it in ways that harm yourself and others. Systemically suppressed anger can become depression- which is ultimately a result of resisting your power. Anger is in fact a resource for tapping into your power, purpose and dharma! Here Are Four Ways to Release Anger Right Now: #1: Anger is often a first response emotion. It can become an addiction to feel anger- especially if this is the way you learned how to feel and express. Anger happens to be the most socially acceptable emotion, so most people default to anger quite easily. Step number one is to get into the habit of checking in with the four levels of your being and do a self audit. This process can help you identify the experiences happening within your inner landscape so you don't disconnect from your body and emotions. Do A Self Audit #2: What are you angry about? Who are you angry at? Consider this your challenge. Now use my Challenge Creative Ritual to identify, move and transform your anger into potent awareness. #3: Move your anger safely. Release anger and rage by screaming, yelling, punching pillows, throwing things (without harming yourself or anyone/anything else) and stomping. Get the sound of your anger out in a safe, contained space. Let the emotion move out and through your body. #4: Tap and Rant. EFT is a powerful resource for moving emotions- especially anger. Tap on the heart point in the center of the chest or tap through the points as you speak your anger aloud. Don't hold back. Tapping through the points as you express your anger, will support its movement and release, without it getting stuck in your body. Need some extra support? Use my Tapping Meditation Podcast for Big Emotions. Hi Sensitive Souls!
