The October new Moon arrives on the 27th at 21:39 MT while Moon is transiting Libra and Swati nakshatra. This new Moon also coincides with the powerful celebration of light, Diwali, in the Vedic calendar. Diwali (or Deepavali) is a very significant five day festival in the Vedic tradition. The most significant day of the Diwali festivities is on the new Moon. Diwali is actually a five day celebration that honors light, Lakshmi, and the divine resources available to us. Lakshmi is the giver of health, vitality, nourishment and wealth. The festival of light spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Three of the most important days are dedicated to Dhanvantari, Hanuman, and of course the new moon being the most important of all, which is solely dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi. Read more about Diwali and why this festival of lights is so important. This Libra new Moon is particularly delicate as it mirrors the vulnerability and weakness of the Sun- who is currently debilitated in Libra as well. This is a inward time of year for the Sun. The source of our light is dim and the new Moon highlights this lack of light. When Sun is debilitated, the physical body is more sensitive, but the spiritual body is more awake. Use this time to go inward, pause, rest and rejuvenate. This new Moon is a particularly powerful time for inner growth, deep listening, and self care. New Moon in Swati nakshatra brings a cycle of movement ahead. Change, travel, and wind come with this constellation. Vayu, the wind god, rules this portion of the sky and brings all kinds of movement with him. Subtle and small breezes, as well as powerful gusts, and everything in between, are all within his domain. What is your relationship with the wind right now? Vata may be particularly imbalanced in the coming weeks so be mindful of your prana. Avoid excess movement, travel and pushing to accomplish. Right now, less is more. Silence and rest are the best use of your time and energy. Jupiter is currently at the edge of Scorpio, poised for a major shift in the coming days. On November 4th, he will move into his own sign, Sagittarius, joining Saturn and Ketu here. For the next couple months, he will be transiting through the powerful gandanta of Mula nakshatra, ruled by the dark goddess, nirrti. This gap between water and fire supports immense uprooting, transformation and change on the psycho-emotional body levels. The awakening taking place with Jupiter in the coming months, supports the dharmic path and ushers in a whole new level of insight, wisdom and dharmic support. Right now, our relationship with support, guidance and wisdom is already shifting. Our Guru, Jupiter, is moving to a sign that he loves, which supports more balance and harmony with his natural qualities. It also means that he will not tolerate adharma, impurity, lack of wisdom and guidance on your path. Pay attention to the support and guidance showing up to support your dharmic path and start making this a priority. I'll be sharing more about this transit in an upcoming article. This is how the dark goddess, Nirrti, destroys your dharmic path. Creative Ritual Expanding your container, your capacity to hold and to release, can physically and metaphorically be done through the breath. With new Moon in Swati nakshatra, this is a good time to work closely with the breath, prana and your life force energy. 1. Breath Dance. Begin standing, lying down or sitting. Bring your awareness to your breath as it moves in and out of your body. Filling and letting go, opening and releasing, like waves moving in and out of the body. Track the movements and sensations in the body and let these guide you. The sensations will guide you into the physical body impulses, the messages of the body. As you continue to breathe and become more and more aware of the movements of the ribcase, let these movements exaggerate. These exaggerated movements are the making of your "breath dance". Continue to move from and with the movements of the ribcase as you breath. Explore, expand and develop your breath dance for at least 10 minutes. Let it evolve and as it does, continue to self track, noticing the body parts most alive and awake as you explore your body part sensations present. As you bring your breath dance to a close, ask yourself these questions: I sense, I feel, I imagine. 2. Create an image of your ribcase. What colors, textures, shapes and images arrive on the page as you draw your ribcase? I encourage you to get your hands involved in this process whether it be through painting directly with your hands, or smudging the craypas with your fingers. Let the hands be sensitized through the process. Get messy. Let the hands and fingers fully engage in this image. (Working with clay may be an alternate medium to work with). Title your image. Take at least 15 minutes for this. 3. Harvesting. When your image is complete, use it to harvest with further inquiry by asking it these questions: Ask your image if it has anything it would like to share with you: If your image could speak, what would it say? I am I want I need What am I opening to? What am I closing to? Are you curious what your Jyotish Chart can tell you about your souls purpose, your dharmic path? If used properly, Vedic Astrology can be one of the most straight forward, insightful tools you will encounter on your path. JOIN OUR NEXT FIVE DAY ONLINE DHARMA GATHERING!! The October full Moon arrives Wednesday, October 24th at 10:44 am MT while Moon transits Aries and Ashwini nakshatra. Beginnings and rejuvenation arrive. This is a powerful cycle for healing and transformation. Release, make space, and open to the new. Moon feels energized and enlivened at the time of the full Moon. Direct this energy towards self care, healing resources and creativity. As Moon awakens Ashwini nakshatra during this full Moon, the constellation of healing supports greater inner wisdom to arrive. Clear space for this wisdom by releasing and letting go of stagnation, undigested emotions and mental clutter. This is an ideal cycle to attend to the physical body and wellness practices. Start your fall or spring cleanse at the time of the full Moon and jump start your healing process in the weeks ahead. The Ashwini Kumara twins rule the first constellation of the zodiac, Ashwini. This dynamic duo are brothers- both Ayurvedic doctors who can support powerful healing within the body. They awaken creativity, spark new life and enliven rejuvenation so new life can arrive. They rule over all the healing arts- resources that support increased life force energy. The more life force within, the more vitality and strength experienced within the physiology. Allow the support of the Ashwini Kumaras to help you restore balance, integration and wellness in the cycle ahead. The symbol of Ashwini is a horse head. Horses represent power, strength, endurance and vitality. Working with horses and riding horses requires clarity, focus and a strong will, as well as willingness to be touched by horse medicine. Ashwini expresses the ability to strengthen ourselves and heal like the mighty horse. Horses are known to create an anti-venom which literally and metaphorically expresses the ability to ward off evil, poison and snakes. The coming cycle can support greater strength and vitality- in body, mind, emotions and spirit. Spend time with horses and watch them carefully for healing insights. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, while Ashwini is the first constellation of all twenty seven nakshatras. The arrival of this full Moon brings beginnings with it. As with all openings, there is also closing, release and letting go. Are you attending to losses and release? Are you allowing for the letting go? What grief needs to be purged and has yet to be honored? Where are you skipping over your closing ritual? There has been so much trauma confronted over the past many weeks as a result of Mars and Ketu in tight conjunction and the recent transition of Jupiter shifting into Scorpio has intensified shadow work and grief. So many have felt old trauma and grief aggressively forced to the surface. It's been a painful process for many and has created destabilization and lack of safety in body and life. It's time to come back to ground and deepen your self trust. Use resources to support more nourishment, rest and gentleness, Re-center yourself and use your body as the tuning fork. What does your body say it needs? Ask your body to give you messages and listen carefully. Keep showing up. Sun has shifted to its debilitation sign, Libra, for the coming month. This is a low point in the year for the Sun. Until November 16th, Sun will be in hiding, asking for rest and silence. All debilitated planets turn their energy inwards. The Sun's light and energy will turn inward in the coming weeks, asking you to look within. The light within will strengthen which means that we may see ourselves and our shadows more clearly. This may feel helpful or painful for some. Honor this inward shift with extra self care. This is not a time to push or force or be visible. This is a powerful time for introspection, retreat and more silence. Do less and honor this still point in the season. When the Sun's light dims, it can be challenging for the physical body, however it can often be helpful for the spiritual body. Take extra care of the body, get more rest, eat in harmony with the seasons and use an Ayurvedic diet. Abhyanga (warm oil massage) is a great grounding resource. Spend time in nature and stay close to the body. It may feel easier to lose connection with the body in the coming days and disconnect. Use somatic resources to reconnect. Where are you bypassing the needs of your body? Where are you disconnected with your physical body? Are you spiritual bypassing and avoiding your grief? What relationship challenges are keeping you disconnected from your body, pelvis and sexuality, feminine wisdom? Notice where Libra lives in your chart. This house placement will give further insights into themes emerging for this coming cycle. If you are a Scorpio rising, Sun will be marana in your 12th house. This is the least happy place for Sun and will require extra care and attention. More spiritual focus and less material focus is vital. Attend to losses and grief that needs your attention. For Aries ascendant, Sun dips into your 8th house which is a hidden place for Sun. It is a low point for your year and extra care and caution must be taken. Vigilance with body is needed. Don't take risks and mind your vulnerability. Creative Ritual Create a list of self care activities that nourish and support your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. 1) Using craypas, paints or pencils, create an image of your nourishment. What does nourishment feel like for you? Create an image that expresses this feeling using colors, textures and shapes. Allow 20 minutes at minimum for this nourishment image. Title your image. 2) Use your image to inspire a movement exploration. Let your body move in response to your nourishment image with an intention of "moving with your feelings of nourishment". What sensations emerge for you during your dance? What awareness? Allow 5 to 10 minutes for this movement exploration. I encourage you to extend this time frame as you recycle this process. 3) Harvesting. In your journal answer these questions: I am, I want, I need, I sense, I feel, I imagine. What deeply nourishes me? What no longer nourishes me? Where do I feel support in my life? Where do I need more support? What am I opening to? What am I closing to? I call myself the Dharma Midwife. I am on a mission to help sensitive souls connect with their inner truth and inner wisdom. To connect with purpose and dharma. We need you now more than ever! Every week I offer two *free* dharma coaching sessions to action takers who are ready for deep life change. Is this you?! Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com This Week's Intention: Seek balance, integration and harmony- inside and out. Be diligent with your polarities. Find equality with your darkness and light. Monday begins on the heels of a new Moon, offering a sense of deep emptiness and release. With Sun debilitated right now in Libra, it's the lowest point of the year, with the least amount of light support and vitality. Vulnerability it high. Attend to health, wellness and nourishment. Go slow and get plenty of rest. Be gentle with your body and relationships. Easy does it, especially as Mars shifts to its exaltation sign at the first part of the week. The tendency will be to charge forward, but the rest of the planets aren't supporting this level of wild enthusiasm. Seek integration and balance with being vs. doing. The October New Moon occurred at 11:38 MDT on Sunday, the 30th, Coinciding with Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Moon is transiting Libra and Swati nakshatra at this time. This constellation is ruled by Vayu, the wind god, who brings powerful forces of change and movement with him. He is cosmic breath, prana, supporting all the internal Vayus. He is your breath of life, the breath of the gods, the breath of Nature. The immense strength of the Rudras comes from Vayu. Hanuman is a Rudra, who proved his extreme powers when he leaped to Lanka, saving Sita and upholding dharma. This right action was an act of devotion towards Lord Rama. This new Moon sparks an immense change process, spearheaded by Vayu himself. Read more about the New Moon in Libra Monday, October 31st Moon in 1st and 2nd tithi Pratipad and Dvititya Just as Monday begins, Moon arrives in Vishaka nakshatra, activating the dual god, Indragni. This dual rulership between the king and high priest, represents the necessity for co-creation in order to sustain life. Indra and Agni are separate deities, but when they combine, they increase their individual power. Indra is the king of the gods, while Agni is the transformational energy of fire- king and priest. Each supports the other and makes their roles in life possible. Moon is still seeking balance, integration and harmony today. Support your emotional body with grounding and stabilizing resources. Just before Mars shifts to Capricorn, Moon moves to its debilitation sign, Scorpio, joining Saturn and Venus here. Seek balance with inner and outer. At 20:35 MDT, Mars moves to his exaltation sign, Capricorn, until December 11th. This begins many fiery days ahead, with potent action oriented expression, as the warrior planet steps into his most powerful sign. There is much movement in the weeks ahead. The intention and driving force is nourishment and attaining the nectar of life. However, this process must be done with balance and attention to integration and harmony. If there is imbalance within physical, mental, emotional or spiritual bodies, challenges, pain and hardship will arrive. Pay close attention to your inner aggression and force. At the same time, notice where you are resisting the nourishment you crave. Read more about Mars in Capricorn Tuesday, November 1st Moon in 2nd and 3rd tithi Dvitiya and Tritiya Early in the morning, Moon moves to Anuradha nakshatra in Scorpio. Moon will be debilitated until Thursday, creating an inward pull, with deeper introspection. This also increases the vulnerability at this time- with both Sun and Moon debilitated, Ruling planet of Scorpio, however, is now in its exaltation sign, bringing a certain determination and renewed energy of hope and power. Mars has not yet gained strength in degrees, so there is also some sensitivity and inward pull with Mars. This is a time to be very diligent with action steps, passion and purpose. Do not push too hard or force actions. Align with ease and gentleness as much as you can. Stay grounded and in the body, as the tendency will be to disconnect. Befriend the body today, befriend the self. Activate self love. Missing my daily, weekly and monthly jyotish posts? Free access ends Nov 15th! Sign up now for a Basic Membership. Wednesday, November 2nd Moon in 3rd tithi Tritiya Moon moves to Jyeshtha nakshatra mid morning, enlivening Mercury and Indra's power. As the king of the devas, he rules dharmic acts, positions of power and authority. Indra is life force energy himself. Worship Indra and you are worshiping prana. He rules the senses, which also means your sensitivity. Channel this sensitivity and power into directions and actions that move you forward and promote integration and balance, harmony and embodied momentum. Moon is in exact conjunction with Saturn and Venus today. These planets express ultimate balance and harmony. Seek resolution in mind and emotions today. Release what brings pain and illusion, while stepping into stillness and grounding. Find your center and deepen your roots here. Thursday, November 3rd Moon in 4th tithi Chaturthi Late morning, Moon leaps into Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra. Rahu gives his shadowed gaze as Moon moves through the challenging gandanta (gap) between water and fire signs. The entire constellation of Mula is considered a gandanta, a challenging gap that invokes chaos, uncertainty and uprooting. Ruling deity, Nirrti, is the dark goddess who brings adharma- that which is against dharma. Often this nakshatra will pull you from your path and purpose, but it can also bring you back- if you are willing to use the challenges as resources for deeper grounding and stability. Today, embodiment and simplicity are essential. Less is more. Avoid pushing or forcing outcomes. Find ways to soften and be gentle with yourself. Friday, November 4th Moon in 5th tithi Panchami The morning begins with Mula's disheveled offerings, so keep it simple and don't push too hard. Simple steps are required. Get in the body and stay out of the misery. Just before noon, Moon moves into Purvashadha nakshatra. Apas, the water goddess, provides flow, movement, and fluidity- especially for your internal waters. Move your body and your emotional body will follow the flow. Notice where you are being aggressive with yourself. Stop the war, stop the violence, within. Integrate and harmonize your masculine and feminine energy, your soft and your hard. Saturday, November 5th Moon in 6th tithi Sashthi Water is a primary resource for today as Moon continues through the domain of the water goddess the majority of the day. She provokes movement and flow of the inner waters. Find ways to support the channels and fluidity- through physical movement, crying, creating art, aligning with the heart, softening and stepping towards stillness. This is a time of rejuvenation and restoring. Early afternoon, Moon moves to Uttarashada and the all-gods arrive with support, resources and dharmic alliance. Stay true to course! Activate and align with your soul's purpose. Take steps towards clarity and your inner truth. Sunday, November 6th Moon in 7th tithi Saptami Moon continues through Uttarashada, provoking the Laws of Nature to activate. These universal principles apply to everyone- whether you are consciously aware of them or not. These "all-gods" are Goodness (Vasu), Truth (Satya), Determination (Kratu), Talent (Daksha), Time (Kala), Enjoyment (Kama), Firmness (Dhrti), Ancestors (Kuru), Abundance (Pururavas), Joy (Madrava), and Pleasantness (Rochana), Sight (Lochana), Fame (Dhvani), Leadership (Dhuri). These are all important characteristics to develop. It is through the feeling level obtained through the front half of this constellation, that these attributes can be obtained within, through this constellation. Mid morning, Moon arrives in the sacred 28th nakshatra, Abhijit. This is a spiritual portal that awakens the subtle layers of being. Moon continues through this gap until late afternoon. Use this time for meditation, stillness, integration, spending time in nature, and aligning with your inner realms. As Moon shifts into Sravana, Vishnu arrives with his wisdom of harmony and dharmic alignment. Strengthen your power and purpose. Just before midnight, Venus moves to a new friends sign, leaping into the tricky gandanta between watery Scorpio and fiery Sagittarius. Venus arrives in Mula nakshatra, the first of three in Sagittarius. The entire constellation of Mula is considered a gandanta, a gap, that provokes challenges, uprooting and change. As planets pass through this nakshatra, an inevitable change takes place with the indications of that planet. Mula is infamous for chaos, calamity, uprooting and imbalance, as well as adharma- that which is against dharma. At the same time, Mula can also bring great depth and spirituality, but often due to navigating hardship and challenge. Read more about Venus in Sagittarius Monday, November 7th Moon in 8th tithi Ashtami Moon continues through Sravana nakshatra until late afternoon. Vishnu brings his dharmic support, his all-pervasive awareness and expansion to the day. There is a certain strength in the inner realms today. Tap into the subtleties of mind and emotions. Land and linger within the inner landscape. Stay in the present, arrive in the stillness, conquer the fear of past and future. Expansion of knowledge and wisdom comes to those who look. Seek this wisdom within. Moon shifts to Dhanishta late in the day, sparking Mars energy and the light of the Vasu Devas. Take the inner awareness that arrived earlier in the day, into creative action! *Timing used is Mountain Daylight Time. Missing my daily, weekly and monthly jyotish posts? Free access ends Nov 15th! This Week's Intention: To see the moon that cannot be seen, Turn your eyes inward and look at yourself, in silence. ~Rumi The week begins on the tail end of a vulnerable full Moon and Sun's transit into Libra. As Moon passes through Pisces and into Aries, endings and beginnings will be awakened at the start of the week. Attend closely to your inhale to life and your exhale to death. What are you opening to? What are you closing to? Did you miss my *free* Full Moon Grief Ritual? Attend to your open and close with this special class. Listen for few more days. Sun shifts to its debilitation sign for the coming weeks on the 16th at 18:38. As he arrives in Libra, a softening of the masculine arrives. This often brings discomfort and disappointment from relationships. The masculine will be less available, less assertive and less present as a result of this transit. Notice your own relationship with your soft masculine. Are you resisting it or allowing it? This Sun cycle provokes a need for greater self awareness and understanding of the masculine. Read more about Sun in Libra Monday, October 17th Moon in 2nd tithi Dvitiya Moon continues to move through Bharani nakshatra. Look closely at your resistance today. There's a certain push back to getting your needs met, to honoring nourishment. What is the root of this resistance? Look closely at your needs and how they are not getting honored or supported. You are the cause of these unmet needs. You say you want it, but simultaneously aren't allowing the nourishment to arrive. Look closely at your fear of love, safety, holding and connection that you so deeply crave. Why are you saying no to what you so desperately yearn for? Late afternoon, Moon shifts to Krittika nakshatra. Transformation is arriving. The alchemy of change is taking place. Surrender to the process. Tuesday, October 18th Moon in 3rd tithi Tritiya As Tuesday begins, the Moon shifts into Taurus, becoming exalted. The emotional body is full and ripe. How are you attending to your inner waters? Krittika's transformational changes continue until late afternoon. Allow yourself to surrender to the change process within. Support the alchemy arriving. Agni is a powerful ally and resource. Moon moves to the potent, creative star of Rohini next. Lord Brahma and goddess Saraswati bring transformation through creative forces. They support the manifestation process by bringing your ideas, visions and imagination to life. What are you creating? What action steps are you working with to support this process? Saturn, Venus and Jupiter give their gaze to the Moon, bringing focused movement and expansion. Let your creativity enliven through artistry, co-creation and passion! Say yes to more abundance and nourishment. Wednesday, October 19th Moon in 4th and 5th tithi Chaturthi and Panchami Moon continues through the creative star, Rohini, until midday. Allow yourself to transform through creativity, playfulness and possibility. What are you moving towards? What are you manifesting and creating for your life? What resistance do you feel to creating what you want and need? What happens when you let go of this resistance? Arrive in the softness, the hope, the possibility. As Moon shifts to Mrigashirsha nakshatra, a new level of nourishment is awakened. It requires your movement and change though. Be willing to step towards the possibilities you enlivened earlier in the day. Are you ready to say yes? Where is your resistance still showing up to keep you from being deeply nourished? Who would you be if you were really thriving? What would you have to let go of? Thursday, October 20th Moon in 5th and 6th tithi Panchami and Sashthi As Thursday begins, Moon steps into Gemini. Ketu and Mars give their gaze to the emotional body. The Moon feels heat and sudden changes, aggression and instability. Lean into this uncertainty and challenge. What are you noticing? Just before noon, Moon moves to the aggressive and emotional star, Ardra. Rudra brings big emotional body waves with him. Today it will likely feel like anger, or perhaps a volcano. Allow the fire to move through you without restraint. Notice your resistance to your "ugly" emotions and how shame, guilt and avoidance shows up to stop it. How can you find safe and effective ways to release these challenging emotions moving through you? What can they teach you about your needs- for safety, security and self compassion? Friday, October 21st Moon in 7th tithi Saptami Moon continues through Ardra until late morning. Honor the emotional body and the power that it provides you with. Your feelings make you a human being! Use them effectively and gather resources to be in right relationship with your emotional body. As Moon moves into Punarvasu nakshatra late morning, a softening can arrive as well. It is your inner wisdom and self love that makes a gentleness and ease possible. The harshness is your perfectionism and your resistance to the messiness of life. What happens when you allow yourself to feel- to fully feel?! What happens when you lean into your challenging feelings- with loving kindness and compassion? How would a truly loving parent hold its child in a temper tantrum? Hold yourself with love and acceptance. What happens when you drop the story of being "wrong" for feeling what you feel? Self compassion is the first step in getting your needs met more fully and receiving deeper nourishment. Lean closer to your resistance, the resistance to being what you feel. Airy planet Mercury moves to air sign Libra just as October 22nd arrives, joining debilitated Sun here as well. Mercury will be in Libra until November 8th, about 18 days. He will be moving through a tight conjunction with the Sun during this transit, sharpening the mind with the experience of a soft Masculine presence. Ketu gives his gaze to both planets, sparking sudden release and flashes of insight as well as awakening through loss. Ruling planets of Libra are Venus (own sign) and Saturn (sign of exaltation). Both planets are moving through the powerfully transformational sign of Scorpio right now, supporting release of subconscious material and provoking shadow work to the surface. The deeper your willingness to release, the more space and availability you'll have for the connection, creativity and harmony you are seeking this month. Read more about Mercury in Libra Saturday, October 22nd Moon in 8th tithi Ashtami In the early hours of the morning, Moon arrives in its own sign, Cancer. A softening of the heart and emotional body may arrive in the coming days as a result. Allow your deep feelings to be present with honor and attentiveness. Mars continues to give his gaze, which may provoke frustrations, agitation and emotional release. Keep leaning in closer to your feelings. There's a possibility for deeper self compassion and inner gratitude to arrive if you step towards your emotional body more consciously. Touch that place of inner love and harmony. That place that accepts who you are without judgment or the critic. Late morning, Moon shifts to Pushya nakshatra. It's time for integration to take place. The open and close of your heart chambers, your breath, can support this process. What are you opening to? What are you closing to? What do you notice in-between the open and close? Did you miss my *free* Full Moon Grief Ritual? Attend to your open and close with this special class. Listen for few more days. Sunday, October 23rd Moon in 9th tithi Navami Late morning, Moon moves from the nourishing star, Pushya, into Ashlesha nakshatra. The feeling body moves towards the thinking mind and stirs a certain need to connect and co-create. A desire to be in relationship awakens- in order for deeper nourishment and support. Allow your imagination to support this need. What would feel helpful right now? Who and what do you need for greater resourcing and guidance? What is missing from your life right now? It's a time of deepening your inner awareness, rather than avoiding it. Don't push past your pain, lean closer to it. The mental/emotional body dance is strong right now. Stay grounded in the body and keep your emotions moving. Your inner waters need to flow. Monday, October 24th Moon in 10th tithi Dashami Late morning, Moon leaps through the tricky gandanta (gap) between Cancer and Leo. The Moon will feel as though it's jumping from water to fire. Once in Leo, Moon enters Magha nakshatra, which connects to the ancestors- specifically the father's lineage. There's a certain magnanimous flavor to this star. It's bold, powerful and showy. As Moon arrives in Leo, it joins Rahu here as well. Tomorrow, it will move to the inside of Rahu, re-starting the Kala Sarpa yoga effects taking place within the transits. Today, allow a final release to take place. Get clear on needs, action steps and choices. Commit and land within your power place. Allow your heart and feelings will guide you. There's a certain stripping away of the ego taking place. Shred and let go of what is not serving you. Unmask yourself. * Timing used is Mountain Daylight Time. * Please note that horoscopes for October have been delayed. I'm needing more rest and silence this month. Horoscopes will resume in November. Thank you for your patience. As the Moon shifts into the first tithi (Moon phase) early evening on October 1st, the sacred ten day and night celebration of Shardiya Maha Navaratri begins. Nava means nine and ratri means night in Sanskrit. Each day and night of this powerful junction point, correlates to the epic battle between the goddess Sri Devi Mahatmyam and the demon Mahishasura. Maha Devi Mahatmyam is connected to both Durga and Shakti, powerful forms of divine feminine energy that awaken, clear, transform and heal. Sri Devi is understood to be the supreme creation power of the universe, the Tridevi, or triple goddess, as she expresses the creation, sustaining and destructive energies that perpetuate all forms of life. This is the most powerful time in the Vedic Calendar. Read more about Navaratri Venus in Scorpio The first major transit of the month happens in the early morning of the 13th when Venus shifts into Scorpio, the sign of mysticism, grief, transformation and death. Scorpio brings depth, darkness and experiences that go far beyond the surface of existence. As the planet of feeling, creativity and relationships moves through this vulnerable sign, it touches the planet of grief, Saturn, directly through exact conjunction. This is a cycle of releasing, purging and emptying emotions on every level! The emotional body will feel especially vulnerable in the weeks to come, so honor your sensitivity with brave authenticity. Allow yourself to empty and let go of stagnant emotions, undigested emotions. You have the opportunity to create space for something new to arrive in the coming months, but not without this vital release process taking place. Grief is stirred in the heart due to relationship disappointments and parts of you that have been neglected and malnourished. Relationships are fragile and yet awakening, however watch for trauma and sudden release. Purging the emotional body will be non-negotiable. Use clarity in communication to address challenges head on. Use this time as a way to clarify your needs and speak them directly. There's a tendency to avoid the real issues right now and stay in the shadows. Keep things as simple, clear and direct as possible. Speak the sweet, honest truth. Full Moon In Pisces The October full Moon on the 15th creates a remarkable vulnerability with Moon in a very delicate gap point between Pisces and Aries. At 22:23, the fullness of the Moon arrives at the edge of Pisces, just past 29 degrees. The portal between endings and beginnings is activated, awake, alive. Pure vulnerability is provoked at this time, while simultaneously ushering in mystical and spiritual power. The Pisces/Aries gandanta (gap) is particularly challenging as Moon shifts from water into fire, release and liberation into hope and possibility. Pisces is also connected to the ancestors and endings, while Aries brings a young, new energy with it. This full Moon provokes the energy of closure and awakening to the new. What are you opening to? What are you closing to? Moon will be transiting Revati nakshatra at the time of the Full Moon, the final lunar constellation of the zodiac. Pushan rules this portion of the sky, bringing fruitful journeys and resources for your travels. Read more about the full Moon in Pisces Sun in Libra Sun shifts to its debilitation sign for the coming weeks on the 16th at 18:38. It's a time of deepening relationships- but not through strength and power. As Sun moves through the sign of relationship and balance, it will request you look more deeply at your vulnerability and your resistance to being held, supported and honored. This is a request for integration between masculine and feminine energies. There is a certain awakening taking place right now through balance and harmony. Trust this process. There's also an opportunity for relationships to be your guru, a powerful teacher. This requires your willingness to look at your relationship with the masculine more closely; your inner masculine, as well as the masculine mirrors arriving to teach you. What do you need for greater support and holding? What is working and what is challenging you? How can you begin to use thoughtful communication as a way to get your needs met more fully? Keep leaning in closer to this question: What do I need to feel safe and supported? The coming month requires your willingness to look at your darkness and the depth of your pain. It's a time to pull up your biggest wounding from past relationships, the grief that has been undigested, and fully honor it. Your resistance to your pain is costing you your deepest nourishment. Be soft and gentle as well as fierce and determined. Move closer to your inner fears, not further away from them. If it scares you, it's worth looking closer. Why are you afraid of your own power source? Mercury in Libra Airy planet Mercury moves to air sign Libra just as October 22nd arrives, joining debilitated Sun here as well. Libra being the planet of relationship, connection and balance, supports the communication and connection tendencies of Mercury. They are great friends. This bodes well for communication of all sorts and can support connection, relationship and co-creation in the weeks ahead. Simultaneously it is also a cycle of releasing deep emotions, toxic and aggressive tendencies and finding a softer, gentler way of expressing. Moon will be in the harsh nakshatra of Ardra at the time of this transit, stirring big emotions. This cycle will activate mental and emotional body stories that are hurtful and painful, bringing them to the surface for you to look at more directly. As challenges rise to the conscious mind and become visible, it's also an opportunity to work with them and help them release. Rather then getting stuck in the painful process and old mythology, try to use it as a resource for change and transformation. Seek balance between your light and dark parts. This will support more integration between masculine and feminine- the relationship with self and your relationship with others. Mars in Capricorn On October 31st at 20:35 MDT, Mars moves to his exaltation sign, Capricorn, until December 11th. Suffering is optional. Pay close attention to your inner aggression and force. At the same time, notice where you are resisting the nourishment you crave. Gains come when you honor your dark, hidden desires. Lean into your fear more closely. Align with this resistance and keep moving closer to your pain. Keep peeling back layer by layer, to expose your needs more fully. Without moving closer to your terror, you are missing out on the deep nourishment and satisfaction you crave. The heart seeks stability, grounding and focus. It needs integration, balance and co-creation. It wants to heal old pain and darkness. It wants your hidden grief to come to the light. Will you lean closer to it, in order for it to touch your conscious awareness? You want depth and pleasure, connection and pure relationship. How will you connect with this feeling unless your your heart is pure? Purify, clarify, release all that is stagnant within the chambers of your heart.
