Moon is waxing and just passing the half way point of the bright half phase this week. We have high potency in the planets right now with exalted Jupiter, exalted Saturn, exalted Mercury and Sun in its own sign of Leo. Midweek, Mars moves to its own sign, Scorpio. This is a time to activate!
Monday, September 1st Today's Intention: Attention and intention will take you far. Look within and be gentle with your self and others. Take alone time in order to listen to your inner messages. Moon transits its debilitation sign, Scorpio, in Anuradha nakshatra, receiving drishti (gaze) from exalted Jupiter and Ketu. Moon is waxing and in the 7th tithi (phase) today- the half way point in the bright half of the cycle. Debilitated Moon, softens the Moon, turns it inward and creates high sensitivity as well as strong intuitive potential. Slow down to listen to your inner messages. Anuradha nakshatra is ruled by Saturn and Mitra, who rules friendship and fine detail. He gives support, companionship and represents allies and assistance; he protects us. Mitra rules the day and is in constant renewal and transformation; he likes travel and changes in location just to keep things interesting. His penchant for fine detail offers us the ability to see beyond the surface, to notice nuances and enjoy finery. At times, Anuradha can also heighten the critic, as it's a star that sees so much. Today, attend to details and tackle to-do's. If you find your self lost in the small, fine details, zoom out and remember the big picture as well. Connect, share, and be pleasant to others. Share the abundance that you are naturally. Bring presence to your critic and don't let it attack others, or your self. Be gentle with what you see today, inside and out. Tuesday, September 2nd Today's Intention: Be mindful of your mind games and your senses. Tend to overwhelm and extra sensitivity with self nourishment and self care. Mars is sandhi, at the edge of Libra, ready to jump into Scorpio. The ongoing tension between exalted Saturn and Mars may intensify in the next few days as planets leaving signs tend to increase their effects. If you are feeling extra frustrations with the stop (Saturn) and go (Mars) energies, surrender to Saturn's need for slow and steady! Moon moves into Jyeshtha nakshatra at 07:37 am CDT, enlivening Indra and Mercury. Indra is the king of the devas and brings strength to all his endeavors. He is particularly connected to dharma, prana (our life force energy) and our senses. As Mercury is enlivened here (and currently exalted conjunct Rahu) the mental body gets an extra kick. Debilitated Moon in Scorpio creates extra sensitivity with the senses. Find ways to nourish the mind today without letting your senses get overwhelmed. Protect yourself from the onslaught and bombardment of too many screens and sensory overload. 3 level check in? Wednesday, September 3rd Today's Intention: Cut, clear and purge. Lighten your load and simplify yourself and your life- in mind, body, emotions and spirit. Moon jumps into Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra at 07:01 am CDT, while Nirrti and Ketu incite sudden change and disruptions. Saturn gives drishti to the Moon here and may create an extra level of frustrations- so be aware that extra time will be needed to accomplish tasks today. With Mars poised to jump into Scorpio, teetering at the very edge of Libra now, our actions may feel misaligned or nonexistent, increasing agitations. Plan for calculated action steps and go slow. Nirrti is famous for her dishevelment and adharma. She uproots and disrupts, bringing disturbances with her. Today is an ideal day for cleaning, purging and letting go on the mental, emotional and physical levels of life. Clean out the closets of your mind and your home. Find ways to simplify and cut attachments. Feeling pains and suffering? Look here for what needs to be cut the most. Exalted Jupiter makes his big leap into Ashlesha nakshatra at 11:18 am CDT today; Mercury and Sarpa, the snake god, enliven. Let your mind blossom and unfold in the coming months. Need a reminder about this expansive and enlightening Jupiter transit? Read part 2 of my Exalted Jupiter article here. Thursday, September 4th Today's Intention: Let your creative flow activate the flow of abundance; the abundance in and around you, flowing towards you and through you. Moon moves into PurvAshada nakshatra at 05:45 am CDT and our internal waters desire more flow with Apas and Venus's encouragement. The flow will require effort and direction however. How are you directing your creative energy? Your cleansing and purifying capabilities? Are you tending to your emotional body wisdom and its needs consciously and directly? See if you can find the valve on your heart to open the channels of love, then let more love flow towards you and from you. Where does your life need more flow and fluidity? What needs and self care can help you fill your cup more fully? Drink in the abundance of life and the nectar available to you. Revisit my new Moon creative ritual for some creative activation. Mars finally steps into its own sign of Scorpio at 15:27 CDT and gets drishti from both Ketu and exalted Jupiter here. The long drawn out tensions within Libra over the past many months (both with the Saturn/Rahu conjunction and more recently with the Saturn/Mars conjunction) finally dissipate. Take a breath. Take a pause. Give gratitude for new action steps! Need a reminder about the dance of Mars in 2014? Read more here. This transit of Mars through Scorpio is one of depth and insight. Move towards your desires and be aware of where you're holding back out of fear. Don't let the past haunt you, let it inform and inspire more conscious action steps. Take bold steps and activate your desires in the coming two months during this transit! Wisdom comes from your depths. Strengthen your inner trust and sensitivity. Mercury moves into Hasta nakshatra at 17:58 CDT. Let the exaltation of Mercury, the mind, and Savitr, the god of dawning and awakening, open doors for you in the coming weeks. Start something! Listen to the sparks of imagination and the intuitive guidance coming to you. Trust the light within you to show you the way. Use Gayatri Mantra for activating magic and miracles. Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥtát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃbhárgo devásya dhīmahidhíyo yó naḥ prachodáyāt Friday, September 5th Today's Intention: Direct your creative energy intentionally in order to maximize your efforts. Don't do too much. Instead, do less with more greatness. Moon moves to Uttarashadha nakshatra at 03:53 am CDT and the all-gods, the Vishvadevas, arrive on the scene as well as an extra layer of Sun energy. At 09:20 am, Moon moves into Capricorn, receiving drishti from exalted Jupiter and Rahu. The Vishvadevas insure our success and prosperity and give us resources in order to find our talents and fortune. Sun is strong in Leo right now and the planets are potent in general. Use this time wisely. Be alert and be poignant in your actions right now. Listen to the messages and internal guidance that you are receiving. Get quiet and check in with your inner knowing. Trust your sensitivity and harvest with the 3 level check in. Creative power is very high now that Venus has moved to Leo, joining Sun there. Don't waste your energy flitting around, doing too much, and in too many different directions. Concentrate your efforts, your energy and power in order maximize this time period. Be direct and focused and don't burn yourself out with too much work. Temper your hard work with self care. Saturday, September 6th Today's Intention: Take three intentional steps today. Activate with careful action steps and listen to your internal messages. Moon moves to Sravana nakshatra at 01:31 am CDT. Vishnu, akasha (space) and Moon are the qualities of this lunar constellation. Vishnu and his travels through earth, sky and heaven (the three realms), gives us triples and threes today. How can this be a metaphor for your actions, visions and dreams? Plan, take action and enjoy! Use your day of Saturn to attune and attend to your body. Get embodied and use the wisdom of your body to offer insights and necessary balance. Listen carefully to the inspiration and omens that arrive along the way. The akasha element inspires transmission of knowledge and wisdom through hearing. Are you listening? Revisit one of my workshop MP3's for inspiration. Moon moves to Dhanishta nakshatra at 22:48 CDT. Sunday, September 7th Today's Intention: Let wealth and abundance grow within you by holding onto the somatic sensations of nourishment and success. Then use this felt sense to create your dreams. Moon transits Dhanishta nakshatra and the Vasu Devas come out to play with a kick of Mars. Boom! Moon is expanding and now in the 13th tithi, nearing fullness. Energy is high and maximized as we have three planets exalted and two in their own signs. The Vasus bring wealth, fame and shining to us; they come from jyoti (light) and are the originators of jyotish (the science of light). If you desire wealth, then worshiping the Vasu Devas is important as they are connected to prosperity. Get creative today and let your creativity activate manifestation of your desires on the material plane of existence. What do you greatly desire, want and need in your life for more harmony, satisfaction, comfort and nourishment? Make your list- but painting it, singing it, and dancing it is even better. Go beyond the mind and get it attuned to the emotion/intuitive body and the physical, somatic wisdom within you. How does your abundance feel in your body? Let this feeling intensify and grow. Keep coming back to the somatic sensation of your nourishment, support and fulfillment. This is the Vasu Devas in action! OM namo bhagavate vasudevaya Need some extra guidance and clarity? Many people are feeling the escalating tension between Saturn and Mars in Libra at this time. Remember the dynamics of Saturn which are stop/slow and Mars which is action/go. These two opposing forces remind us to be very intentional with our actions/inactions. Because of their transit through Libra, the ultimate goal is balance; we may find this most important within our relationships.
With three planets in Cancer right now (exalted Jupiter, Sun and Mercury and Venus joining them this week), there is a strong emphasis on our heart, emotions and the dynamics of open/close and boundary work. This time period reminds us to be present to our emotional body, to consciously navigate its needs and to soften to the awareness that it can bring us for our life, relationships and overall well being. If you are really feeling the intensity, you will especially want to pay attention to your emotional work and let it inform your process. With Ketu's drishti on Cancer, the effects of our sudden awareness through the emotions can be startling, but essential- for our moksha and self development. No spiritual bypassing, no cutting and pasting over them, no negating your feelings and emotions. Be brave, go into the felt sense with courage and intention. Use my workshop mp3's for further guidance and harvesting. Moon is full this Sunday in Capricorn! Our emotional cups will be full to capacity and likely some challenges and hurdles in store as a result. We are all going feel a sense of "bigness" in so many ways this week! Using 3 level check ins and your creative work this week will be essential. Monday, August 4th Moon moves deeper into Libra, sandwiched in between Mars and Saturn, nearing conjunction with Saturn in the early parts of the morning. Moon is in exact degrees with Saturn at 05:28 am CDT while both are in Vishaka nakshatra. As Moon separates with Saturn (and also Mars), moving towards the edge of Libra, later in the day, questions and issues around stability and support continue to surface as themes. IndraAgni rules Vishaka. A dual god, this dynamic duo of Indra and Agni, embodies the necessary partnership between king (Indra) and Priest (Agni). They intimately rely on each other for support, nourishment and sustenance. Without the priest performing sacrifices at the portal to the gods (the altar), the king will lose his power and sustainability. This co-creative partnership is reiterated in the food that we eat (mouth being portal opening) and the necessary transformative powers that Agni uses to digest the food in order for our nourishment and life giving support. There are many examples of this type of increased power when we join a partnership. Right now, we may be questioning what these support systems are within our lives. Who and what feels supportive and helpful, nourishing and of value. What relationships provide sustenance and sustainability? What relationships do not? What sense of balance and recalibration needs to happen in order for life to be more easeful? What are the healthy and nourishing alliances in your life and which ones need to be let go for good? Finding ways to navigate the inner and outer landscape right now is the name of the game. Moon moves to Scorpio at 18:39 CDT, receiving drishti from Jupiter and Ketu. Tuesday, August 5th Moon transits its debilitation sign, Scorpio, moving into Anuradha nakshatra just after midnight CDT. Whenever Moon transits through Scorpio, we are reminded to pay close attention to our emotional body, our intuitive guidance, and the subtle messages within us. Scorpio Moon days are days that come with a sense of power due to vulnerability. These are days where we can extract nourishment in delicate and subtle ways, somatic and gentle ways, so listen and attune carefully. Want to know more about Scorpio Moon? Read my article here. Moon receives drishti from both Jupiter and Ketu today, offering some potent intuitive guidance and spiritual insights if we are paying attention. Anuradha nakshatra is ruled by Mitra and Saturn, both known for their impeccable detail and workmanship. Mitra is a friend, ally, companion; he brings support and sustenance as any good friend would do. He especially likes to connect, transform and renew. Today's reminder is: meet the right people, make the right connections and success will come. The general themes for this time period regarding relationships, partnerships and boundary work prevail today. Notice where the contractions and the critic surface as you interact with others. With who and what is there more opening, expansion and ease? Be aware of the opening and closings in your life- just as the lotus blossom opens in the day and closes naturally at night. Let the dance of yes and no resonate with your healthy boundary work. Where are you saying yes and where are you saying no in your life? What are the results? Mercury moves to Ashlesha nakshatra at 21:27 CDT. Sarpa, the serpent deity and an extra level of Mercury are enlivened in the next week. The mental body needs extra TLC right now as it may be running away with itself through deception, illusion and over-confidence. Remember that Mercury is nearing the Sun in Cancer and heating up the mind in general right now. Rigidity, extra sharpness, critic and extreme focus are heightened. Use the mind, but don't be used by the mind. Everything that passes through the Sun gets purified, so we can at least be assured that the mind is getting burned and transformed like a fire offering right now. Purify and be purified; tend to your mental burns. Wednesday, August 6th Moon moves to Jyestha nakshatra just after midnight CDT. The mental body enlivens today with the strength of Indra. Mind over matter or matter over mind? There could be a tussle between emotional body and mental body so work with both for clarity of your needs. Which one is running the show? Do a three level check in for greater insights. Indra is the storm god, particularly connected to rain, but also with dharma and powerful positions. The Upanishads refer to Indra as the life force, or prana. It is understood in the Ved that Indra is the ruler of our senses and sense organs. In other words, he is the king of our body and mind. Extra sensitivity can emerge on Indra days. Jyestha days remind us to take back control of our senses, rather than letting them rule us. More than control, perhaps a better word choice is awareness. Get a firm grasp on your senses through conscious awareness. Time for a 3 level check in and some harvesting? As the day ripens, Venus moves into sandhi at the edge of Gemini, poising itself for change, while Mercury nears close conjunction with the Sun. Watch your heart and mind for heat, fire and solar flares! The mind is hot and it can easily spill over into our relationships. Play nice, but be clear and firm with your boundaries, needs and expectations. Moon jumps into Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra at 22:45 CDT. Thursday, August 7th Venus moves to Cancer at 05:16 am CDT, joining exalted Jupiter, Sun and combust Mercury there. This will be a very interesting transit emotionally. There's heat in the heart/chest region, effecting our work with opening and closing, expand and contract. This will of course play out as a tussle between mental body and emotional body, effecting physical body. These dynamics will be effecting our relationship with self and others. The heat is on, tensions rise, and the drishti on these four planets from Saturn and Ketu intensives the activation, pressure and necessary restructuring occurring as a result of this transit. Whatever needs to shift in your relationships in order for greater ease, will likely be coming to a head until August 30th as Jupiter (deva) and Venus (asura) battle it out in our heart center (Cancer/4th house matters). Themes of the 4th house heighten at this time: including land matters, home, mother, emotions, heart/chest/lungs, vehicles and our relationship with these. Exercising healthy and appropriate boundaries is the other current theme. Whatever we are not yet getting on a mental/emotional level, will bring itself to the forefront of our awareness at this time. Be prepared to make adjustments and changes with your relationships in the coming weeks. Frustrations and tensions are likely due to lack of effective boundary work. Want to know more about the dynamics of open and close and our emotional body during this time of exalted Jupiter? Use my Jupiter/Ribcase mp3 for assistance. Moon transits Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra today. Enter Nirrti and Ketu for a power packed day. Don't be surprised if an extra layer of chaos enters through the side door as Nirrti usually stirs the pot in uncomfortable ways. That's her job after all. She uproots, dishevels, and distracts. She is married to Adharma (against dharma) and goes against the natural order of things, Natural Law. Don't let your prana get scattered and misused today. Have you ever noticed how in movies and on TV, the plot unfolds after a series of decisions- usually poor choices; but more importantly from a lack of healthy and appropriate boundaries?! It is exactly the same within our personal life story. If you want less drama, made for TV movies, and big screen issues in your life, you have to be very conscious of what you are saying yes to and what you are saying no to. Essentially action and inaction. It's actually a very simple formula. But the changes that your life will take on as a result of your yes and no's is not. This time period of Saturn/Mars conjunction as well as the conjunction of four planets in Cancer, is our crash course (literally) in this yes/no dynamic. What are you learning? Where do you need to say no still or yes perhaps? What are you allowing in and opening to? What are closing to and saying no to? Moon moves to PurvaAshada nakshatra at 20:44 CDT. Friday, August 8th Moon is reaching its fullness, waxing into the 13th tithi (Moon phase) today. The tides are high within us! Moon transits PurvaAshada nakshatra, ruled by Apas, the water goddess. Here we get a heightened connection to the emotions, the emotional body and our inner waters and tides. With Saturn's drishti on the Moon, we get a little extra squeeze and some added pressure. Like a piece of citrus being reamed and squeezed, juice extracted, and then poured. Extract your inner juices for cleansing and clearing of your inner waters today. Let the tides move through you and out of you. Apas helps to purify us, to rejuvenate and to keep us fluid, flowing and moving. Make sure that attention and intention with the emotional body is part of your day, as well as movement. Where can you invite in more flow and fluidity? The theme of purification continues. Working with my Moon/Emotional Body MP3 may be helpful for you. Find it here. Moon moves to UttarAshada at 18:10 CDT and the Vishvadevas shine their light upon us. As Sun rules this nakshatra, a bit of extra heat kicks in. Mercury and Sun are in exact degrees as this time and full on combustion of the mind/mental body is here. The themes mentioned over the past week intensify as we navigate our heart/emotions and all that this brings with it in regard to relationships and our felt sense of life. All of our heart/emotion work kicks up due to Mars and Saturn conjunct in Libra, the seat of relationships and our mirror work with "other". The purpose of all these big transits simultaneously, is a re-setting of the balance buttons in our lives. Let this be your intention as you navigate the choppy waters. Work with your three level check in and harvesting process. It's not too early to start your full Moon mandala work. Moon moves to Capricorn at 23:27 CDT. Saturday, August 9th Moon in Capricorn receives drishti from Mars. Mars is considered exalted in Capricorn so he brings his fire through his gaze and heats the Moon; once again our emotional body is activated. Catching the themes right now? Moon is also being glanced at directly, seven houses away, by the intense energy of Cancer and the four planets therein: Venus, Sun, exalted Jupiter and Mercury. Mercury and Sun are still in very close proximity so take this into consideration as you navigate mental/emotional bodies at this time. Additionally, we get drishti on the Moon from Rahu, adding a different type of intensity for our emotions. Shadows, fears, illusions and worldly desires give their presence and may cloud our discernment. Be aware that Rahu gives his two cents right now and don't act rashly. Rahu always brings extremes with him so temper it if possible. Moon is in the 14th tithi and almost at maximum capacity. Our emotional cups are almost full. Are you feeling this expansion and overflow? As Moon transits through UttarAshada today, the Vishva Devas, or all gods, remind us of the basic Laws of Nature. These include: goodness, truth, determination, talent, time, enjoyment, grimness, ancestors, abundance, joy, as well as pleasantness, sight, fame and leadership. These are the places that are asking us to find more balance and harmony in our life. Where are you needing to put more attention/intention in these areas? Where might you need to put less? Re-shuffle your deck for a new kind of winning hand. Moon moves to Sravana nakshatra at 15:14 CDT and Vishnu steps into our day as well as an extra level of Moon energy. Our feat at this time is to start listening. Listen carefully and listen well. Be the observer. Be the witness. Moon moves to its final tithi (Moon phase) at 17:06 CDT and is in its final phase of fullness now (Purnima). Tonight is the night to celebrate your full Moon and create your full Moon mandala. Ritualize your emotional cup being full. Need some help with this? Use my past Moon Mandala Creative Rituals. Sunday, August 10th Full Moon Day! Moon in Capricorn moves to Dhanishta nakshatra at 12:08 CDT. Gaze from Rahu, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, Sun and Venus in full effect! Moon is at its fullest at 13:08 CDT in Dhanishta nakshatra. Dhanishta is ruled by Vasu, the one who shines, is bright and illuminated. Full Moon in Dhanishta nakshatra brings a very full cup to us. Life may be feeling "full to capacity". Is your cup running over in a positive and powerful way? Or a burdensome and heavy way? If you are feeling the burdens of this extremely energized time, it's time to take some steps inward, harvest what is ripe within you, and use it for a change in course or direction. Use my Moon/Emotional Body workshop MP3's to help you navigate your individual harvesting process. The Vasu Devas are sources of light (jyoti) and bring illumination to us. They offer us a source and a sense of our own power, wealth and prosperity. The eight Vasu Devas are the eight cosmic elements expressed and manifested on the material plane of existence. (Moon, Sun, Water, Earth, Air, Fire, Space and the light of the stars). We are indeed cosmic, stardust and swirling light. What are you shining your light upon? What lights are shining on you? What shiny, sparkly objects are catching your attention? Put on your sun glasses and get ready for the blaze. In the coming waning Moon cycle, we can expect this fullness, the overwhelm, the heightened sense of extremes, to come to a climax, before it begins to dissipate. It is a time of maximum exposure. Exposure of our "stuff" and letting the inner come out, and the outer come in. It's a time of major restructuring and deconstruction. Change, shifts, movement. Old patterns change, new ones start. The lessons we are learning at this junction are the life changing, earth changing kind. Ketu and Jupiter are working their magic on all of us in very timely, unexpected ways. The guru is sharing some very big morsels of awakening right now. Do not discount the power of this time, the changes you are going through, and the intentional actions required as a result. Be powerful and potent in your choices. Be firm and grounded in what you need- what truly nourishes you, supports you and offers you comfort. This is what each of us is moving towards in our lives- whether it's obvious or not. Let your cup runeth over and surf the emotional tides that are rising. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a Moon Mind post. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. This is one powerful week! As the Moon is waxing and ripening into fullness on the 11th, with it comes Guru Purnima, the most auspicious full Moon in the Vedic Calendar. Just after this Rahu and Ketu change signs and Mars moves to Libra- signaled by an exact conjunction of Rahu and Mars as they cross each other. As if that's not enough, Venus moves to Gemini as all the heat is happening. Energy is hot, extreme and full of momentum this week. Be careful this week and into the next but enjoy the sudden changes coming.
Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Monday, July 7th Moon transits Libra, sandwiched in between a sandhi Rahu and a retrograde debilitated Saturn while in Swati nakshatra. Moon nears conjunction with Saturn throughout the day and moves to Vishaka nakshatra at 16:18 CDT. Moon and Saturn are in exact degrees at 21:10 CDT and then Saturn crosses and begins to separate with Saturn into the late evening. Be gentle with the emotions today. Whenever Moon and Saturn connect, grief and tears are likely. Attend to your needs around, sadness, loss and disappointments. Monday starts off with momentum, movement and change as Moon is in Swati and Vayu, the wind god and Rahu enliven the winds of change in and around us. Use this momentum as strength- to build and create what you are working towards. Feeling the shifts yet? Possibility is on the rise. As Moon moves into Vishaka later in the day, a different essence enlivens as Indragni and Jupiter take over. Focus on support, alliances, team building and gaining allies for your projects and ideas. Teamwork and laying a solid foundation with support is a great use of time and effort. Venus moves from Rohini into Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 21:02 CDT, heightening the movement at play with the planets this week. The symbol of Mrigashirsha is the deer which exemplifies the fickle nature of this lunar star. Mars is the ruling planet here, but Soma is the deity (personification of the Moon). How can change and sudden movement be nourishing for us? What changes need to be made in the coming weeks with regard to your relationships, creativity, passion and desires in order to bring more harmony, fluidity and joy into your life? Take action steps towards change but focus your attention and intention on being flexible and fluid. Go with the flow, but direct the flow simultaneously. Tuesday, July 8th Moon transits Vishaka nakshatra, enlivening Indragni and Jupiter and moves from Libra into Scorpio at 10:03 am CDT. Moon is debilitated in Scorpio which heightens sensitivity, receptivity and intuition. Always pay attention to your emotions during Scorpio Moon days. Moon receives gaze from Jupiter and Venus in this position which can add a boon to our experiences. Seek expansion through creativity, flow, wisdom, ideas and possibilities. Relate, create, share, teach, advise, but listen closely to the subtle messages arriving within you. These are potent tools of guidance. Moon moves to Anuradha nakshatra at 15:52 CDT which connects our attention to details, friendships and blossoming awareness. Be mindful of the critic as well, since overly detailed (self) analysis is often experienced here. Befriend your critic and let Mitra and this friendly star remind you of both the micro and the macro lens that you are looking through. It's a great skill to see detail and it's also important to zoom out and see the big picture as well. Give your self credit for both of these skills and where they show up for you. This is another example of the open/close dynamic of the heart lotus, or heart center. Work with this theme of opening and closing more directly with my Jupiter/Ribcase mp3. Wednesday, July 9th Rahu and Ketu near the edge of Libra and Aries, both poised for change. We've been feeling the effects of them being sandhi (in the gap) for weeks now, but the portal is opening wider now. As planets near the junction point of change into a new sign, I see this as an open door. A planet is not fully in either sign, but dancing in the gap between two worlds. In this case, Rahu has opened the door to Virgo already and Ketu has opened the door into Pisces already. Likely you've been feeling the effects of this already as new possibilities, options and actions are bursting forth. Read more about sandhi planets and how they effect us. Moon continues in Anuradha nakshatra today, inviting in Mitra and Saturn's ways. Mitra is known for building friendships and alliances, while also having extremely impeccable attention to detail. Saturn's debilitation right now can make this fine detail turn inward and create excessive scrutiny upon ourselves- ie the critic. Make sure you are working with this, not against it. How can you zoom out and catch a bigger picture today? Moon moves to Jyeshta nakshatra at 14:38 CDT and the mental body kicks into gear. This can be good for finances, creativity and communication as well as goal setting and making plans. Just don't let the intensity push the mental body into overdrive. Indra steps into our day with Jyeshta and offers us his strength and guidance through wisdom. With gaze on the Moon from Jupiter and Venus, we may experience depth and understandings and a greater capacity for flow and harmony. Are you listening to the messages? Don't push or force. It is vital that you create space for the emotional body to share its needs as well. Get informed about this vital resource and make sure you aren't cutting and pasting over them. Thursday, July 10th Mars nears the edge of Virgo as Rahu edges towards the end of Libra. The momentum pre-collision builds! First day of my full Moon + Birthday Swati Jr Jewelry Trunk Show. Are you joining me? Moon continues through Jyeshta nakshatra and finishes its transit through Scorpio until 12:43 CDT when it switches into Leo and Mula nakshatra. Mula is ruled by Nirrti and Ketu. Expect this nakshatra to usher in some changes, a switching of gears and some level of uprooting as the symbol here is a bundle of roots and Nirrti is aligned with adharma (against dharma). Great insights however can be available to us as well, so seek the digging and go beneath the surface. That said, prepare for sudden shifts today and trust that this is making room for all the newness ahead! This message is amplified as Moon receives drishti (gaze) from a debilitated Saturn, a sandhi Mars and a very sandhi Ketu. Caution is recommended today- through the rest of the week. There's still time to join me at Bayou Bliss in Houston on Saturday for my full Moon workshop. Friday, July 11th The Moon moves to the 15th tithi at 10:03 am CDT, which is the final phase of the waxing cycle. It is ripe and full of the Sun's light and ready to shine brightly in the night sky. This marks the beginning of the Guru Purnima festivities and provides us with an especially full and powerful Moon. Considered the "fullest full Moon of the year", Guru Purnima is a particularly auspicious time in the Vedic calendar when we honor our gurus, teachers and guides for all the wisdom and illumination they have brought to our paths. The fullness can be felt in heart, in spirit, in our emotions and minds, as our cup is the fullest of the year right now and expressed through the power of the Moon! I wish each of you a powerful and sacred Guru Purnima. May your paths continue to be illuminated by fulfillment, great wisdom, and by satya, truth. There's still time to join me at Bayou Bliss in Houston on Saturday for my full Moon workshop. Just after the 15th tithi begins, Moon moves into PurvaAshada nakshatra at 10:16 am CDT. Ruled by the water goddess, Apas, and the planet Venus, this nakshatra brings with it clearing and cleaning, purifying and clarity. The symbol, being a tusk of an elephant, wisdom and Lord Ganesha are associated with PurvaAshada as well. There is sensitivity here, while also offering the ability to be fierce and severe. Think about water and what it can do for both clarity and purification and the sensitization process, as well as the way it can destroy! This is Apas! Use the soft and sweet with the harsh and severe today. How can these seemingly opposing energies be a force to be reckoned with? What can you clear and purify in your body, mind, spirit, emotions as a result? What needs to be removed or revitalized in your life? Saturday, July 12th The full Moon is in Sagittarius and PurvaAshada nakshatra at 06:24 am CDT. It's a full Moon poised for change and charged with movement, flow and momentum. With Apas ruling this powerful Guru Purnima Moon, so much energy and excitement is palpable and at our disposal. Be sure to use this Moon intentionally and sacredly. What lights you up, sparks you, and inspires the passion of your spirit? What fills your vessel and illuminates your soul? This is the time to dive deep within and harvest your precious pearls; your knowing. It is a time of giving thanks and gratitude for the wisdom in your life that has smoothed you over like water does to stone; like our gurus do for our paths. Apas is purifying us and guiding us with this full Moon. She is both harsh and severe, while also be gentle and soothing. She clears, cleans and purifies and does so through the heart and emotions. Let tears flow. Whether in joy or sadness or both. Let them wash your heart lotus and clean each petal. Create moments for being present to what is, to the silence and stillness that fills our sacred spaces within and all around us. Use this as your theme for the coming waning cycle: let the water smooth your rough edges, like water does to stone. I encourage you to do a mandala creative ritual for harvesting your mind, emotions and physical experiences. Here are some ideas. Third day of my full Moon + Birthday Swati Jr Jewelry Trunk Show. Are you joining me? And just as the full Moon expands, it begins to wane, losing its light, drop by drop. Moon begins to wane now and Rahu and Ketu are poised for their shift into Virgo and Pisces for the next 18 months. Moon shifts to UttaraAshada at 07:28 am CDT and Vishvadeva and the Sun are illuminated. The Vishva Devas are often referred to as the "all gods" because they are essentially universal principles, or the Laws of Nature. They bring goodness into our lives, when we align with their expressions. Do good, be good, essentially. Moon moves to Capricorn at 12:44 CDT. Rahu and Ketu move to Virgo and Pisces at 19:11 CDT. As Ketu moves from Aries into Pisces, it's considered a very challenging gandanta position- the junction between two sign. Aries is the beginning of the zodiac (the head) and Pisces is the end (the feet). And because Rahu and Ketu always move in retrograde motion, Ketu is essentially jumping from the beginning to the end, thus starting a new cycle for each of us. It's been 18 years since Ketu was in Pisces and Rahu in Virgo. This is a new beginning in many ways. Likely we are each feeling its poignancy. However, Ketu will be fresh in Pisces without much awareness of this "new cycle" yet. Reflect on your past 18 years for guidance. What are you cutting out and restructuring in your life? What are you letting go of and finding freedom from? Go there with zeal and make plenty of room for the changes. Read my full report here. Just as Rahu shifts into Virgo, he collides with Mars who is in deep sandhi, poised to move into Libra- while Venus is sandhi and ready to move into Gemini. A collision of shadow and warrior is heightened here. Obsessions and cravings enliven with our action (not thinking) oriented self. This is a time of impulse and activation and can go many different ways. Caution and care are advised- with driving, relationships, with finances, expenses, desires, romance and comforts. The tendency is to miss the obvious when it comes to these matters and to act rashly in ways that we may regret. Best to sit this one out as much as possible and use this time to keep cool and calm where you can. Nourish your self in healthy and harmonious ways and stay out of trouble. Mars and Rahu stay in close degrees through next week. Sunday, July 13th Moon moves to Sravana nakshatra at 04:29 am CDT and Vishnu and the Moon enliven here. Vishnu is connected to akasha, space, which exists everywhere. He expands our awareness, perception, knowledge and understanding. He protects and upholds dharma. One of the symbols of Sravana is an ear because of the oral tradition and because Sravana means "to hear, to study and to learn". Listen carefully today. Messages are coming to you from everywhere. What wisdom can be gained when you let there be more silence and less action? Or can your action come from the depths of your silence instead? yogastah kurukarmani Established in yoga, perform action. -Bhagavad-Gita (chapter 2, verse 48) Venus moves into Gemini at 10:22 am CDT, joining Mercury and Sun there. Venus transits Gemini until August 7th. Mercury is friends with both Sun and Venus. Venus is friends with Mercury but not with the Sun. Sun is fine with Mercury but not with Venus. We get a mixture of results here. Heat, precision, mental acuity are strengthened. The reminder during this transit is to be flexible and flowing. Notice where you are being rigid, fixed, heated, aggressive (with your self and others) and not being compassionate. Compassion, mind you, does not mean being a doormat. True compassion can come with finely attuned boundaries and parameters. Perhaps this cycle will offer the necessary adjustments we are all seeking within our relationships, our creativity, attitudes and communications. There are certainly plenty of opportunities to work with these themes in regard to the other planets. Start now. Mercury moves to Ardra nakshatra at 17:02 CDT. If there wasn't enough movement, intensity and calamity for us right now, enter Rudra and Rahu into our mental body for the next 11 days. With Ardra comes much power. How will you use this power? For destruction (of Self or others) or will you use it for change, creation, and building momentum in your life? The mind is a powerful thing, use this tool with purpose. Mars and Rahu are in exact degrees at 18:00 CDT. The themes continue of the "intoxicated warrior". Are you conscious of your actions, or pushing through with no awareness? Avoid overdrive. Use neutral. Use your pause button. Breathe. Mars moves to Libra at 21:24 CDT, joining debilitated Saturn here. The energy of Saturn and Mars is "lurchy". You've got one foot on the gas (Mars) and one foot on the breaks (Saturn) and the flow is not happening smoothly. No farfigneugen here! Mars remains in Libra with Saturn until September 4th. So expect a lurching energy with all Libra matters. This includes themes around relationships, the "other", our mirror, the pelvic region, finding balance and harmony, business and the markets, masking and unmasking, depth and surface, creativity, stability and structure. Read more about Mars and his funky dances in and out of Libra this year. And use my Mars feet/legs MP3 for help with Mars's energy. Whew. What a week! The biggest changes have occurred, now we get to live the unfoldment of it all. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Never miss my Moon Mind Calendar. Sign up for my newsletter. And if you like this post, please share it! Moon is Full on Thursday and begins its waning cycle for the remainder of the week. Moon passes through Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and into Capricorn this week. Mercury is retrograde as well as Saturn. Be mindful of your inner and outer communication. Put new systems in place for better overall communication- with others, with your life, with your self.
Monday, June 9th Moon transits Swati nakshatra in Libra today, sandwiched between a sandhi Rahu and a retrograde, weak, Saturn. Vayu enlivens movement today. Change, movement and strong currents are invited in as a result. With the storm energy (Rudra) in Libra, the Moon may trigger strong weather, and sudden rain storms (Venus/Ketu aspect). Carry an umbrella. These storms may be internal, so expect these sudden storm clouds to arrive with thunder and lightening. They will likely pass as quickly as they arrive. Note how and when the clouds emerge as the mental body will likely stir the inner pot. With Mercury retrograde right now, it look for connections to an issue or event from the past that triggers the feelings within you. The mental and emotional bodies may brood today. Get embodied. Find movement as a resource and attend to Vayu, the wind god, and your inner winds with breath work, pranayama, yoga and body work. Use my Saturn and Pelvis MP3 workshop recording for nurturing the themes of self support and self reliance today. Tuesday, June 10th Moon continues to pass through Libra, nearing Saturn today, and moves into Vishaka nakshatra at 06:47 am CDT. Indragni and Jupiter rule the day. As Moon nears exact conjunction with Saturn (at 13:29 CDT) expect emotional intensity, a swelling of heart matters and a need for digesting and assimilating- especially in regard to relationship matters. Yesterday's stormy weather prediction resurfaces today. Bring an umbrella and tend to your emotional storms. Today, seek comfort and nourishment, support and assistance, rather than isolation and loneliness. Find ways to get your needs met with self care, self expression, and extra comforts. Use creative resources to get you out of your emotional ruts. Remember that digging up the soil is necessary before you can plant the seeds. Use my Saturn and Pelvis MP3 workshop recording for nurturing the themes of self support and self reliance today. Wednesday, June 11th Moon moves into Scorpio just after midnight at 00:12 am CDT and moves into Anuradha nakshatra at 05:55 am CDT. As Moon moves into its sign of debilitation, the brooding from the previous days takes a heightened turn towards the inner realms. This is a necessary phase in the emotional transformation process, but diligence is required so we don't get stuck in the mire for too long. Use your turmoil for cultivating more awareness and introspection and don't get lost in details- that's where the overwhelm resides. Intuition will be heightened right now, so pay attention to your first responses and instincts. Listen carefully. The intense energy of the previous days begins to break up today, a good sign that movement is occurring. Use this as momentum for personal change. Connect with a special friend for extra support and nourishment. Thursday, June 12th Moon transits Scorpio, its sign of debilitation, and moves into its final tithi (Moon phase) of its waxing cycle in the wee hours of the morning. As Moon moves into Jyeshtha nakshatra at 04:23, Indra and Mercury are enlivened for our day and our full Moon. With Mercury retrograde, the theme of re-tracing past steps and experiences is activated, so expect a sense of Deja Vu today. There are awakenings tangible so keep your eyes open and your mind open to possibility as well. Indra brings with him a certain power and need for control. Extreme sensitivity is likely today and the senses may be overwhelmed easily as a result. Take precautions and find ways to self soothe and self care so that you don't get overwhelmed. Full Moon is today at 23:10 CDT. This full Moon brings with it a power and intensity that can provoke inner change. Capitalize on this and bring intention to what you are ushering in. What strength and power are you inviting in during the next cycle? As the Moon slowly empties, how can your bring this sense of bravery, courage and strength with you? How can this super sensitivity be a powerful tool for you in the coming weeks? Have you made your full Moon mandala yet? Here are some ideas. More on the full Moon and the upcoming waning Moon cycle in my Transit Report. Friday, June 13th Moon moves to Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra today at 02:22 am CDT as the Moon enters the first tithi (Moon phase) of the waning cycle. Uproot and unravel today. Dig up the dirt and churn your internal waters. Today is a day of disruption and attuning to the Laws of Nature. Expect some chaos and calamity as part of the parcel. Prepare for sudden changes and toxic people as well as explosive situations. Some duress is possible. The savior today is creativity and creation. Get into your process and let it consume you. The mental body will be pulling you out of center and pushing you into old storm clouds. The easiest way to step out of the landmines will be to get embodied. Get out of the mind and into the body. Late in the evening turn your heart and sorrows towards devotion. Remember your gratitude. Saturday, June 14th Moon moves to Purvashada nakshatra moments after the stroke of midnight. Apas, the water goddess and Venus are enlivened today. Cut, clear, restructure, reorganize, renegotiate your relationship contracts. They have all been in flux lately. Today, let some nourishment and depth cleanse, purify and nourish your felt senses. We are all cutting out those pieces and people that don't serve as supportive and reliable. Today may offer another level of awareness with this process. Right now, we get to practice really healthy and necessary boundaries, so if there are agitations, remind your self of what needs to shift. What is in your control? What can you say no to? What additional self care tools can you offer your self- even in the toughest moments? Make sure you create time for ritual, for sweating and moving the body and for tears today. Moon moves to Uttarashada nakshatra at 21:30 CDT. Expect some new perspective on your day and a "do good" mentality to take over. Sunday, June 15th Sun moves to Gemini just after midnight and joins a retrograde Mercury and sandhi (in the gap) Jupiter here. These three planets receive gaze (drishti) from Rahu. Wisdom and mental acuity sharpen in this coming Sun cycle. Get your ducks in a row and make high level plans. Avoid self doubt and self sabotage. Instead, step into your power and rise to the tasks at hand. Use the next four weeks of Sun in Gemini to tackle mental, creative and monetary goals with power and pizazz. No slacking, but don't overwhelm yourself with too many irons in the fire. Best practice is being very calculated and concrete about your to-do list. Check things off one by one. Moon transits Uttarashada nakshatra today and moves into Capricorn at 02:51 am CDT. Vishvadeva and Sun rule today. The Vishvadevas or "all gods" are essentially the Laws of Nature, or universal principles. They remind us of ethics, respect and other people's needs, as well as the crucial parts of life like joy, time, leadership and our connection to lineage and the ancestors. Stick to dharma today and be ethical in your actions. Attract what you want in life by being. Take the necessary action steps to call in what you want. Follow your dreams. Follow your visions. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Never miss my Moon Mind Calendar. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. And if you like this post, please share it! Full Moon this week! Moon moves through Libra, Scorpio and into Sagittarius this week. Moon begins to wane (Krishna Paksha) after the full Moon on Wednesday + Buddha Jayanti.
Monday, 5.12 Moon moves into Libra this morning, joining Rahu and retrograde Saturn here. Simultaneously, exalted Sun and Ketu give direct gaze seven houses away and Jupiter offers his gaze from five houses away. The complexity of the full Moon in Libra on Wednesday begins to stir within us. Desires mount. Monday starts with a demand for action as Moon transits Chitra nakshatra. Vishvakarma (the celestial architect) is the ruler of Chitra, as is Mars, the planet of karma/action. This energy is about building, creating, serving and performing karma yoga. Today, start your week off on the right foot. Plan, organize, use strategy, clarify your ideas, create and expand your objectives. Take effective action and cross something big off your to-do list. Get clear on the big picture, but use details and step by step instructions to get the job done. Moon moves to Swati nakshatra at 21:23 CDT. Tuesday, 5.13 Swati nakshatra enlivens Vayu (the wind god) and Rahu today. The winds of change are blowing. Do you feel it? What direction are they blowing for you? What changes are being enlivened within you and around you? What is your response to these winds? Pay attention to Nature today as she will likely show us her directions through wind, rain and storms. Vayu brings change; he does so by "house cleaning", creating movement, is connected to breath, wind and strength. Whatever is being moved today, trust that it is creating space for something new to arrive. Are you moving with gentle breezes or gale force winds? What is your response to these winds? Remember, movement is good. Bend with the wind though, don't break. Moon moves to Vishaka nakshatra at 21:05. The Moon will already be in its final tithi (phase) at this time as it ripens towards fullness. Wednesday, 5.14 Full Moon is on Wednesday, May 14th at 14:15 CDT in Libra and Vishaka nakshatra. Moon will be sandhi at the edge of Libra receiving direct gaze from a sandhi exalted Sun and Ketu in Aries. Yet another opportunity to revisit the same metaphors and challenges, lessons and reminders from the many previous months as Libra and Aries have been in the spotlight for months now. This full Moon is intricate as well as celebratory. It is Budhha Jayanti (also called Buddha Purnima), the celebration of Lord Buddhas birthday. Auspiciously, the celebration falls on a Wednesday this year, day of Mercury, the mind. May Lord Buddha's strength in mind and liberation of being ignite us! Jai Buddha! This full Moon is in Vishaka nakshatra and at the edge of changing signs at 29'51; very much in the gap (sandhi) heading into Scorpio its sign of debilitation. Moon moves to Scorpio just fifteen minutes later at 14:30 CDT. Vishaka is ruled by a dual god, Indra and Agni. They sit at the portal entrance and allow the transformational process of our offerings to take place. Offerings of nourishment, that then becomes potent and palpable to them, and in turn they make these offerings potent and palpable for us. We see this pair at work in yagyas and puja offerings. Whatever is offered on the altar, alchemically transforms and becomes nourishment for the gods, who then bless us with their protection and support. Sun moves out of Aries its sign of exaltation, and into Taurus on 5.14 at 17:33 CDT. He transits Taurus until June 15th. Moon moves to Anuradha nakshatra at 20:14 CDT. Read more about the meanings of full Moon + Sun transit here. Thursday, 5.15 Moon transits Anuradha nakshatra, ruled by Mitra, the friendly star. He's an Aditya (provides nourishment and support) and is a form of the Sun and connected to day time. Friendship and alliances are enlivened through Mitra, as well as help, support and the special connections in life that sustain us. Mitra likes fine detail and has a knack for change and renewal; he loves travel and a change of scenery. As Moon will be receiving direct gaze (drishti) from a sandhi Sun (newly changed signs) and Mercury in Taurus, watch the critic today. Re-direct it. Zoom out and look at the big picture if you feel your self using the zoom lens too much. Focus instead on unifying factors and helpful connections. We may be feeling small within ourselves on some level, which can heighten the tendency to find fault with others. What needs to shift? Moon moves to Jyeshtha nakshatra at 18:55 CDT. Working with the mental body will be especially effective right now and throughout tomorrow. Friday, 5.16 Jyeshtha is ruled by Indra and the planet Mercury. Indra is immensely powerful and king of the devas (gods). Considered the rain god, Indra has the ability to "open the floodgates" so to speak. Indra is also connected to pranic forces and has extremely heightened sensitivity- which translates as heightened awareness. We are reminded by him though that we must not be controlled entirely by our senses. Today you may notice an increased sensitivity- and in that sensitivity a certain and defined power. We might experience this as a vulnerability that cultivates inner strength. We may note our ability to be clear with boundaries today and our defined needs. Be in your power and arrive into your great sensitivity. Both are assets that will take you far. Working with the mental body directly today will be especially effective. Moon changes signs to Sagittarius at 17:16 CDT and moves into Mula nakshatra at this time. Nirrti, the wife of adharma steps onto the scene. Don't let her lack of dharmic pursuits derail you tonight. Saturday, 5.17 As dishevelment and destruction rules the greater part of the day via Mula nakshatra and Nirrti today, expect plans to not be seamless. Give your self extra time to accomplish tasks and relax your agenda. Loosen the reigns. Work on deconstruction, letting go, uprooting and purging today. Moon gets drishti (gaze) today from multiple planets which compounds the chaos at play. Saturn, Mars and Ketu give their heat, pressure and restructuring energy, while Jupiter may soften the blow or at least help us "learn the lessons" that are present. Be leisurely and use self care as much as possible today. Moon moves to Purvashada nakshatra at 15:26 CDT and more flow arrives with Apas, the water goddess. Sunday, 5.18 Purvashada and Apas, the water goddess, helps us with flow more effortlessly. She cleanses and offers rejuvenation- through emotional release and purification, allowing us to connect to the pure flow of love as well. Sensitive feelings are part of this nakshatra and though Moon receives drishti (gaze) today from multiple planets which compounds the emotions, we also have the ability to be cleansed by these emotions as well. Saturn, Mars and Ketu give their heat, pressure and restructuring energy, while Jupiter may soften the blow or at least help us "learn the lessons" present. But because Purvashada is ruled by the planet Venus, a greater ability to love and be loved is experienced here. Let it seep into your pores, and into your veins. Let the love wash over you and through you today. Let it heal you and rejuvenate you. You are loved. Moon moves to Uttarashada nakshatra at 13:33 CDT; Vishvadeva and the planet Sun predominate. Finish the day with a sense of duty and a "do-good" mentality. Help and share. Offer the clarity of love from the previous part of the day and Saturday evening. Let your light shine. Prepare to step forward! Mars goes direct tomorrow. Plan your week, sign up for my newsletter here. |
