Moon Mind :::
8.11 Moon transits Virgo in Hasta nakshatra, but moves to Chitra at 16:21 CDT. Waxing Moon transits the 5th tithi for the majority of the day, ruled by Jupiter. Chitra is ruled by Mars and Vishvakarma, the divine architect. There is much creativity and ornamentation here. {Jupiter currently sits in Gemini with Mars. Mars is giving drishti to Moon and Venus now in Virgo. Both Gemini and Virgo are ruled by Mercury. Mercury currently sits in Cancer (ruled by Moon) and is with Sun there.} This matrix of energy can bring a passionate critique- one where the mind runs away with itself and starts to doubt, then suddenly the emotions get swept into these currents. Especially note if you are being extra critical of relationships, females, creative endeavors, artistic pursuits. Bring awareness to the judgement of others and note that there is really judgment for the self under all of it. *More on debilitated Venus in Virgo and the multiple transits over the next week of Mars, Sun and Mercury in my weekly horoscopes- coming out tomorrow. {Photo of my current location: Allalin mountain- Saas Fee, Switzerland, the Alps.} The month starts with Moon creating a fresh start in Aries and transiting the first of the 27 nakshatras- Ashwini- as it crosses over Ketu. We will likely feel the experience of something new settling in, a pull towards fresh experiences, the sense that some shift has occurred.
Mars moves to Gemini (an enemy’s sign) on 7.4 where it joins Jupiter, Mercury and Sun there. The mind sharpens- keep it soft rather than letting it get rigid. Saturn goes direct after months of retrograde movement on 7.7 at 23:49 CDT. Structures, plans, intentions begin to move in the “right direction.” New Moon on 7.8 at 02:14 CDT in Punarvasu nakshtatra. Sun moves to Cancer on 7.16 at 04.51 CDT. A new sense of compassion may set in. Venus moves to Leo on 7.17 at 08:43 CDT. Notice your intentions/attention gain a new power this month. Notice how these forces move from the inner landscape, to the outer landscape now. Take action, have a fire ritual, use this as a tool for dynamic activation. Mercury goes direct on 7.20 at 13:19 CDT. Mind begins to move in a forward direction with less resistance and out of “clean up” mode. The month closes with Moon going exalted in Taurus. Another cycle around the zodiac complete. Full Moon is in Capricorn at 13:14 CDT on 07.22 in Uttarashada nakshatra. It is also Guru Purnima- the fullest full moon of the year and most auspicious full moon in the Vedic calendar. Honor your gurus, teachers, guides, your lineage and the masters that have helped you on your path. This is a very sacred day of expansion, purpose, power and sattva. Meditate, chant, do sacred acts that bring gratitude. Jupiter is now in Ardra nakshatra ruled by Rahu, giving drishti to Rahu/Saturn in Libra as Rahu simultaneously give drishti to Jupiter in Gemini. Both Rahu and Saturn currently transit Swati nakshatra, ruled by Rahu and Vayu- the wind god. Consequently, there is an exchange of energy here between Rahu and Jupiter as well as a heightened expression of Rahu right now. For some this will offer big expansion in a worldly sense, for others chaos and calamity. Be aware of storm energy and a tendency toward overwhelm. The momentum that is jumpstarting here will carry us forward for the coming weeks and months. Prepare for change, movement, activation and shifts. Sattva will be tainted by the shadow energy of Rahu. The temptations are strong right now for rajasic behaviors, the foreign and unusual, and general extremes- especially on the mental, emotional levels. Meditation may prove impossible as well as being on a good routine. Do the best you can. Perhaps find liberation in the opposition. We can use this time for “de-centering”, which will later help us return to our “balance” with greater understanding and clarity. Don’t fall too far off the wagon. *Due to travel, horoscopes will be postponed until early August. Moon Mind ::: Moon Mindfulness
Tues, 07.02.13 Moon in Aries and transiting Bharani nakshatra. Moon crosses over Ketu at 20:05 CDT {expect a sudden shift involving relationships, women, mental attitude, wealth, comforts and matters of heart and emotions}. Bharani is ruled by Venus and Yama- lord of death and transformation. Bharani is extremely sensitive, perceptive, and relies on self control and restraint for success. Bharani is a fierce nakshatra- one that is connected to destruction, killing, fierce action and the like. There are inevitable endings today and it will require your deep surrender into the unknown. Let the death be a graceful one. Mars is sandhi, moving towards Gemini. Mercury and Saturn are retrograde. Anger around communication issues might be an understatement. Keep your cool or explode if necessary. Move the body and be somatically receptive for best results. Embodiment is always best practice. Om Shanti. Moon Mindfulness ::: Mind Your Moon
6.4 Moon has crossed the tricky gandanta junction of Pisces to Aries and now transits Ashwini nakshatra. Many felt this difficult passage on Monday (day of Moon) especially on the emotional level. Tuesday (day of Mars) brings a certain fierceness with it as Moon also transits a Mars sign (Aries) and a nakshatra ruled by Ketu (who acts like Mars in many ways). Ashwini nakshatra is ruled by the Ashvini-Kumara- the Ayurvedic twin "doctors to the gods." Their father is the Sun (Surya) and he conceived them when he was in horse form (Asva means horse in Sanskrit). The horse is deeply symbolic to this nakshatra- not only because of their strength and power, but also because horses are known to possess an anti-venom for snake bites. This holds both metaphoric as well as literal meaning. The Asvin twins are powerful sources against black magic (snakes), dark deceitful behavior's and personalities and are able to fight poisons (they are known for their rasayanas/life giving treatments and their ability to purify). They use both medicine as well as the creative arts as healing tools. The Vedic literature also speaks to our senses being like "five horses pulling us" and thus requires our great skill and strong handling. Good horsmanship/horsewomanship is essential. Otherwise we literally get dragged around by the horses! Use today for purification purposes, tying up loose ends, tackling to-do lists and clean diet/routine. Watch the company you keep and notice the flies buzzing about the horse stalls. As Venus has just moved to Ardra, you may notice the relationships and friendships that are the least life/soul supporting suddenly showing up wanting to hang out. Use clear boundaries and intentions as you navigate difficult personalities and unhealthy motives. Don't waste your time leading horses to water.... Moon Mindfulness ::: Mind Your Moon
5.23- 5.24 Moon transits Libra in Vishaka nakshatra until 12:36 CDT 5.24 and is sitting with Rahu and Saturn right now- Rahu is currently in Vishaka as well. Moon is waxing and nearing its fullness for the month. Ruled by Indragni, the king and high priest, Vishaka has a dual power associated with it. There is both practical and spiritual power here as well as alchemy. Both Indra and Agni were born of the mouth (portal) of the Cosmic Being (purusha). The cosmic mouth is the portal where offerings are made and the gods can "eat" them. All offerings must pass through these two deities Indra and Agni before being met by the other gods. This "mouth" is the portal where our offerings are transformed and "eaten" by the gods, thus transformed into sustenance for both the deities, and then in turn, the gifts that we receive from them. When Indra and Agni combine their forces, there is a great power in transformational abilities- the power of Indra + the transformational qualities of agni. When they join forces as Indragni, they are known as one single devata, working together for special purposes. The "cosmic portal" can be seen as the altar where we perform yagyas and pujas, daily offerings and such, as well as quite literally our own mouths- where food that we ingest is turned into life giving power because of our digestive agni fires. Vishaka is a metaphor for so many expressions of alchemy, transformation and changes. This nakshatra is ruled by Jupiter. Currently Jupiter is sandhi, preparing to leave Taurus after a full year in this sign, and heading into Gemini- a sign owned by Mercury, creativity, artistry and personal power. What transformations are you stepping into today? What shifts are happening for you? What are you ingesting and what are you not able to yet transform? Mars has joined Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Sun in Taurus now- putting five planets in this Earth sign. We are all focusing on security, support, wealth, early childhood experiences and comfort right now. Give that which you wish to receive. Transformations are inevitable. |
