This is one powerful week! As the Moon is waxing and ripening into fullness on the 11th, with it comes Guru Purnima, the most auspicious full Moon in the Vedic Calendar. Just after this Rahu and Ketu change signs and Mars moves to Libra- signaled by an exact conjunction of Rahu and Mars as they cross each other. As if that's not enough, Venus moves to Gemini as all the heat is happening. Energy is hot, extreme and full of momentum this week. Be careful this week and into the next but enjoy the sudden changes coming.
Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Monday, July 7th Moon transits Libra, sandwiched in between a sandhi Rahu and a retrograde debilitated Saturn while in Swati nakshatra. Moon nears conjunction with Saturn throughout the day and moves to Vishaka nakshatra at 16:18 CDT. Moon and Saturn are in exact degrees at 21:10 CDT and then Saturn crosses and begins to separate with Saturn into the late evening. Be gentle with the emotions today. Whenever Moon and Saturn connect, grief and tears are likely. Attend to your needs around, sadness, loss and disappointments. Monday starts off with momentum, movement and change as Moon is in Swati and Vayu, the wind god and Rahu enliven the winds of change in and around us. Use this momentum as strength- to build and create what you are working towards. Feeling the shifts yet? Possibility is on the rise. As Moon moves into Vishaka later in the day, a different essence enlivens as Indragni and Jupiter take over. Focus on support, alliances, team building and gaining allies for your projects and ideas. Teamwork and laying a solid foundation with support is a great use of time and effort. Venus moves from Rohini into Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 21:02 CDT, heightening the movement at play with the planets this week. The symbol of Mrigashirsha is the deer which exemplifies the fickle nature of this lunar star. Mars is the ruling planet here, but Soma is the deity (personification of the Moon). How can change and sudden movement be nourishing for us? What changes need to be made in the coming weeks with regard to your relationships, creativity, passion and desires in order to bring more harmony, fluidity and joy into your life? Take action steps towards change but focus your attention and intention on being flexible and fluid. Go with the flow, but direct the flow simultaneously. Tuesday, July 8th Moon transits Vishaka nakshatra, enlivening Indragni and Jupiter and moves from Libra into Scorpio at 10:03 am CDT. Moon is debilitated in Scorpio which heightens sensitivity, receptivity and intuition. Always pay attention to your emotions during Scorpio Moon days. Moon receives gaze from Jupiter and Venus in this position which can add a boon to our experiences. Seek expansion through creativity, flow, wisdom, ideas and possibilities. Relate, create, share, teach, advise, but listen closely to the subtle messages arriving within you. These are potent tools of guidance. Moon moves to Anuradha nakshatra at 15:52 CDT which connects our attention to details, friendships and blossoming awareness. Be mindful of the critic as well, since overly detailed (self) analysis is often experienced here. Befriend your critic and let Mitra and this friendly star remind you of both the micro and the macro lens that you are looking through. It's a great skill to see detail and it's also important to zoom out and see the big picture as well. Give your self credit for both of these skills and where they show up for you. This is another example of the open/close dynamic of the heart lotus, or heart center. Work with this theme of opening and closing more directly with my Jupiter/Ribcase mp3. Wednesday, July 9th Rahu and Ketu near the edge of Libra and Aries, both poised for change. We've been feeling the effects of them being sandhi (in the gap) for weeks now, but the portal is opening wider now. As planets near the junction point of change into a new sign, I see this as an open door. A planet is not fully in either sign, but dancing in the gap between two worlds. In this case, Rahu has opened the door to Virgo already and Ketu has opened the door into Pisces already. Likely you've been feeling the effects of this already as new possibilities, options and actions are bursting forth. Read more about sandhi planets and how they effect us. Moon continues in Anuradha nakshatra today, inviting in Mitra and Saturn's ways. Mitra is known for building friendships and alliances, while also having extremely impeccable attention to detail. Saturn's debilitation right now can make this fine detail turn inward and create excessive scrutiny upon ourselves- ie the critic. Make sure you are working with this, not against it. How can you zoom out and catch a bigger picture today? Moon moves to Jyeshta nakshatra at 14:38 CDT and the mental body kicks into gear. This can be good for finances, creativity and communication as well as goal setting and making plans. Just don't let the intensity push the mental body into overdrive. Indra steps into our day with Jyeshta and offers us his strength and guidance through wisdom. With gaze on the Moon from Jupiter and Venus, we may experience depth and understandings and a greater capacity for flow and harmony. Are you listening to the messages? Don't push or force. It is vital that you create space for the emotional body to share its needs as well. Get informed about this vital resource and make sure you aren't cutting and pasting over them. Thursday, July 10th Mars nears the edge of Virgo as Rahu edges towards the end of Libra. The momentum pre-collision builds! First day of my full Moon + Birthday Swati Jr Jewelry Trunk Show. Are you joining me? Moon continues through Jyeshta nakshatra and finishes its transit through Scorpio until 12:43 CDT when it switches into Leo and Mula nakshatra. Mula is ruled by Nirrti and Ketu. Expect this nakshatra to usher in some changes, a switching of gears and some level of uprooting as the symbol here is a bundle of roots and Nirrti is aligned with adharma (against dharma). Great insights however can be available to us as well, so seek the digging and go beneath the surface. That said, prepare for sudden shifts today and trust that this is making room for all the newness ahead! This message is amplified as Moon receives drishti (gaze) from a debilitated Saturn, a sandhi Mars and a very sandhi Ketu. Caution is recommended today- through the rest of the week. There's still time to join me at Bayou Bliss in Houston on Saturday for my full Moon workshop. Friday, July 11th The Moon moves to the 15th tithi at 10:03 am CDT, which is the final phase of the waxing cycle. It is ripe and full of the Sun's light and ready to shine brightly in the night sky. This marks the beginning of the Guru Purnima festivities and provides us with an especially full and powerful Moon. Considered the "fullest full Moon of the year", Guru Purnima is a particularly auspicious time in the Vedic calendar when we honor our gurus, teachers and guides for all the wisdom and illumination they have brought to our paths. The fullness can be felt in heart, in spirit, in our emotions and minds, as our cup is the fullest of the year right now and expressed through the power of the Moon! I wish each of you a powerful and sacred Guru Purnima. May your paths continue to be illuminated by fulfillment, great wisdom, and by satya, truth. There's still time to join me at Bayou Bliss in Houston on Saturday for my full Moon workshop. Just after the 15th tithi begins, Moon moves into PurvaAshada nakshatra at 10:16 am CDT. Ruled by the water goddess, Apas, and the planet Venus, this nakshatra brings with it clearing and cleaning, purifying and clarity. The symbol, being a tusk of an elephant, wisdom and Lord Ganesha are associated with PurvaAshada as well. There is sensitivity here, while also offering the ability to be fierce and severe. Think about water and what it can do for both clarity and purification and the sensitization process, as well as the way it can destroy! This is Apas! Use the soft and sweet with the harsh and severe today. How can these seemingly opposing energies be a force to be reckoned with? What can you clear and purify in your body, mind, spirit, emotions as a result? What needs to be removed or revitalized in your life? Saturday, July 12th The full Moon is in Sagittarius and PurvaAshada nakshatra at 06:24 am CDT. It's a full Moon poised for change and charged with movement, flow and momentum. With Apas ruling this powerful Guru Purnima Moon, so much energy and excitement is palpable and at our disposal. Be sure to use this Moon intentionally and sacredly. What lights you up, sparks you, and inspires the passion of your spirit? What fills your vessel and illuminates your soul? This is the time to dive deep within and harvest your precious pearls; your knowing. It is a time of giving thanks and gratitude for the wisdom in your life that has smoothed you over like water does to stone; like our gurus do for our paths. Apas is purifying us and guiding us with this full Moon. She is both harsh and severe, while also be gentle and soothing. She clears, cleans and purifies and does so through the heart and emotions. Let tears flow. Whether in joy or sadness or both. Let them wash your heart lotus and clean each petal. Create moments for being present to what is, to the silence and stillness that fills our sacred spaces within and all around us. Use this as your theme for the coming waning cycle: let the water smooth your rough edges, like water does to stone. I encourage you to do a mandala creative ritual for harvesting your mind, emotions and physical experiences. Here are some ideas. Third day of my full Moon + Birthday Swati Jr Jewelry Trunk Show. Are you joining me? And just as the full Moon expands, it begins to wane, losing its light, drop by drop. Moon begins to wane now and Rahu and Ketu are poised for their shift into Virgo and Pisces for the next 18 months. Moon shifts to UttaraAshada at 07:28 am CDT and Vishvadeva and the Sun are illuminated. The Vishva Devas are often referred to as the "all gods" because they are essentially universal principles, or the Laws of Nature. They bring goodness into our lives, when we align with their expressions. Do good, be good, essentially. Moon moves to Capricorn at 12:44 CDT. Rahu and Ketu move to Virgo and Pisces at 19:11 CDT. As Ketu moves from Aries into Pisces, it's considered a very challenging gandanta position- the junction between two sign. Aries is the beginning of the zodiac (the head) and Pisces is the end (the feet). And because Rahu and Ketu always move in retrograde motion, Ketu is essentially jumping from the beginning to the end, thus starting a new cycle for each of us. It's been 18 years since Ketu was in Pisces and Rahu in Virgo. This is a new beginning in many ways. Likely we are each feeling its poignancy. However, Ketu will be fresh in Pisces without much awareness of this "new cycle" yet. Reflect on your past 18 years for guidance. What are you cutting out and restructuring in your life? What are you letting go of and finding freedom from? Go there with zeal and make plenty of room for the changes. Read my full report here. Just as Rahu shifts into Virgo, he collides with Mars who is in deep sandhi, poised to move into Libra- while Venus is sandhi and ready to move into Gemini. A collision of shadow and warrior is heightened here. Obsessions and cravings enliven with our action (not thinking) oriented self. This is a time of impulse and activation and can go many different ways. Caution and care are advised- with driving, relationships, with finances, expenses, desires, romance and comforts. The tendency is to miss the obvious when it comes to these matters and to act rashly in ways that we may regret. Best to sit this one out as much as possible and use this time to keep cool and calm where you can. Nourish your self in healthy and harmonious ways and stay out of trouble. Mars and Rahu stay in close degrees through next week. Sunday, July 13th Moon moves to Sravana nakshatra at 04:29 am CDT and Vishnu and the Moon enliven here. Vishnu is connected to akasha, space, which exists everywhere. He expands our awareness, perception, knowledge and understanding. He protects and upholds dharma. One of the symbols of Sravana is an ear because of the oral tradition and because Sravana means "to hear, to study and to learn". Listen carefully today. Messages are coming to you from everywhere. What wisdom can be gained when you let there be more silence and less action? Or can your action come from the depths of your silence instead? yogastah kurukarmani Established in yoga, perform action. -Bhagavad-Gita (chapter 2, verse 48) Venus moves into Gemini at 10:22 am CDT, joining Mercury and Sun there. Venus transits Gemini until August 7th. Mercury is friends with both Sun and Venus. Venus is friends with Mercury but not with the Sun. Sun is fine with Mercury but not with Venus. We get a mixture of results here. Heat, precision, mental acuity are strengthened. The reminder during this transit is to be flexible and flowing. Notice where you are being rigid, fixed, heated, aggressive (with your self and others) and not being compassionate. Compassion, mind you, does not mean being a doormat. True compassion can come with finely attuned boundaries and parameters. Perhaps this cycle will offer the necessary adjustments we are all seeking within our relationships, our creativity, attitudes and communications. There are certainly plenty of opportunities to work with these themes in regard to the other planets. Start now. Mercury moves to Ardra nakshatra at 17:02 CDT. If there wasn't enough movement, intensity and calamity for us right now, enter Rudra and Rahu into our mental body for the next 11 days. With Ardra comes much power. How will you use this power? For destruction (of Self or others) or will you use it for change, creation, and building momentum in your life? The mind is a powerful thing, use this tool with purpose. Mars and Rahu are in exact degrees at 18:00 CDT. The themes continue of the "intoxicated warrior". Are you conscious of your actions, or pushing through with no awareness? Avoid overdrive. Use neutral. Use your pause button. Breathe. Mars moves to Libra at 21:24 CDT, joining debilitated Saturn here. The energy of Saturn and Mars is "lurchy". You've got one foot on the gas (Mars) and one foot on the breaks (Saturn) and the flow is not happening smoothly. No farfigneugen here! Mars remains in Libra with Saturn until September 4th. So expect a lurching energy with all Libra matters. This includes themes around relationships, the "other", our mirror, the pelvic region, finding balance and harmony, business and the markets, masking and unmasking, depth and surface, creativity, stability and structure. Read more about Mars and his funky dances in and out of Libra this year. And use my Mars feet/legs MP3 for help with Mars's energy. Whew. What a week! The biggest changes have occurred, now we get to live the unfoldment of it all. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Moon is waning this week and transits Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and into Aries. Multiple changes occur on 6.15. Find the planetary details in my transit report.
Monday, June 16 Moon transits Capricorn and Sravana nakshatra. Vishnu and his expansiveness as well as the Moon rule over the day. Movement is a key theme for today's experience as Vishnu is said to have traversed the three realms of earth, sky and heaven in three steps. Look for threes today. Use the metaphor of three steps as a key for your actions. Work with the "emergence of the third" and metaphors that include bridging the unknown with the known. What can we bring forth from our depths in order to arrive at a new destination? Vishnu is about expansion, so let your dreams take you to a fuller experience, a more expansive state of mind. Take care of mind/body and spirit today. Saturn energy may slow down the arrival at our desired destination, so work with frustrations consciously. At 16:39 CDT, Moon moves into Dhanishta and we can take the awareness of Sravana into action and implementation. Nourish and be nourished. Create and share your creativity. Let the Vasu Devas help you shine. Mercury has moved back into Mrigashirsha nakshatra in his retrograde dance. He is transiting Gemini with Sun who just entered Gemini and Jupiter who is on his way out. He's feeling the movement, the change, the uncertainty of the other planets and reflecting this to us in our mental body. Frustrations and emotional upheavals are coming from this abundance of movement and change right now. It's palpable. Work with the instability in conscious ways- through dance and creative movement. Find your own metaphors as you move. Use grounding and stabilizing activities as a resource to bring more comfort, calm and support. Find more about this transit in my Transit Report. Tuesday, June 17th Moon moves to Aquarius at 03:35 am CDT and receives drishti (gaze) from Rahu and Jupiter in this position. Moon transits Dhanishta nakshatra. Mars and the Vasu Devas rule the day. The Vasu Devas help us shine and be seen through our gifts. They are sources of illumination and prosperity; literally the light or jyoti. Dhanishta people like to share information and like to be heard- especially through music and creativity. Create, share, take action. Find new ways to get your message out there; get innovative. Moon moves into Satabisha at 14:37 CDT. Rahu and Varuna are enlivened as a result. Guard your health today and take preventative measures for creating wellness. Eat well and nourish your self with good food, proper routine and self care tools. Avoid excess sugar, caffeine, alcohol and intoxicants. Be mindful that on Satabisha days, we may turn excessively critical. This gaze may turn inward or outward- or both. It is a great time to consciously work with our critics and deepen our relationship with them. Why is our critic "helpful" and when does it show up for us? Self tracking is essential in order to find the deeper meaning within our judgement. Wednesday, June 18th Moon transits Aquarius and Satabisha nakshatra until 13:00 CDT receiving drishti (gaze) from Rahu and Jupiter. Many of the suggestions from yesterday apply. At 13:00 CDT Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra ruled by Ajaikapada and Jupiter. With the momentous transits happening, we may feel as though we are in a balancing act as the deity Ajaikapada reminds us (another name for Shiva). Lord Shiva expresses in his dance, one foot firmly rooted, the other lifted and in balance; we can feel this sense of limbo today as the transits intensify. So much is in transition right now, hanging in balance, neither here nor there. Can you feel it? Purvabhadrapada signifies endings, letting go, the funeral cot that symbolizes death and transition. This is where we are right now. At the edge. Letting go. It is a big day of transits and changes. Venus moves to its own sign of Taurus on 06.18 at 07:08 am CDT away from Mars’s drishti and the conjunction of Ketu. This may be the stabilizing force that allows us to make more lasting and life-supporting changes for ourselves during the next month. Just as Venus moves into Taurus, Jupiter makes his momentous change into Gemini later that day at 20:24 CDT. I’ve written extensively on this transit. For greater insights on this 13 month transit visit my Exalted Jupiter articles part one and two. For more details on both of the Venus and Jupiter transits please check my transit report. Thursday, June 19th Moon moves to Pisces at 06:07 am CDT and transits PurvaBhadrapada nakshatra, receiving drishti (gaze) from Mars. The morning starts with influences from Ajaikapada and Jupiter. Jupiter arrives into Cancer officially and Venus settles into its own sign of Taurus as well. Moon receives drishti (gaze) from Jupiter in this position. Look for glimpses of gentleness today and invite in a softer approach to life and relationships. Moon moves into UttaraBhadrapada at 11:53 am CDT which energizes Saturn and Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the depths. This is naga serpent energy though- the kind that brings insights and awareness with excavation below the surface. Dive deep today and explore possibility and purpose. Seek out stability. Sun and retrograde Mercury collide in Gemini causing a heated mind. Issues coming back to haunt you? Noticing old patterns resurfacing? Retrograde Mercury is working his magic on us. Go for precision and exactness, avoid anger and hostility. This combustion receives drishti from Rahu which can heighten the intensity and cloud our awareness. Feeling the heat? Calm down and count to ten before you communicate. Better yet, wait 24 hrs or go meditate before you come to your conclusions. Friday, June 20th Moon moves to Revati at 11:17 am CDT which energizes Mercury and Pushan. Pushan guides us and protects us on our journey, offering us support and nourishment. Look for support, self care, guidance and help today. Ask if you need some extra support or help. Guidance and support is all around us. Often, we just need to be open and receptive to receive it. Moon is being gazed at directly by Mars. Simultaneously Sun and retrograde Mercury are still in close degrees- yesterday’s suggestions still hold true. Issues coming back to haunt you? Noticing old patterns resurfacing? Retrograde Mercury is working his magic on us. The mind is heated and fiery. Great for precision and meticulous thought processes, but anger and hostility can easily surface. This combustion receives drishti from Rahu which can heighten the intensity and cloud our awareness. Feeling the heat? Calm down and count to ten before you communicate. Better yet, wait 24 hrs or go meditate before you come to your conclusions. Saturday, June 21st Solstice occurs on 6.21 at 05:54 am CDT. It is officially summer for the Northern Hemisphere. Moon crosses the tricky junction point between Pisces and Aries at 11:13 am CDT. The morning may be best spent slowly and silently as Moon transitions from water into fire. As Moon enters Aries, it moves into Ashwini nakshatra, nearing Ketu. It also gets drishti from Mars here. As the day takes shape, the fire in us enlivens and Moon collides with Ketu. Use this heat and passion for activation and action steps. Some of us may get instant messages and sudden brilliant ideas! Address anger and agitations head on. Not by forcing your agendas and objectives on others, but by looking within and noticing where the emotion is arising from. How does anger serve you, or how has it served you in your life? It wouldn’t be there unless you relied on it for some reason. Find ways to use it as a resource, a tool of passion and greater inner awareness. Don’t suppress it or lash out at others. Let it to inform your process. Use the day resourcefully. Use healing modalities, purification practices, rasayanas and rejuvenation treatments for getting your needs met. Create, sing, open your artistic channels. Just before midnight, Sun moves into Ardra nakshatra, heightening our connection to Rudra and Rahu until 7.05. Emotional upheaval, intense movement and change, calamities and uncertainties may be increased. Some worldly success may be provided for some in the coming weeks, but watch for excessive cravings simultaneously. This will be an excellent time to navigate our emotional body with very deliberate awareness as we will likely be feeling some passing clouds and stormy weather. Sunday, June 22nd Moon transits Aries and moves into Bharani nakshatra at 11:38 am CDT, enlivening Venus and yama. Transformation, death, release and letting go surface today. The day and its desire may require us to use restraint. Keep it simple. This is an excellent time to cut out attachments. This may be in relationships or simply with house cleaning- or both. We can clean and purge from the inside out. What are you willing to let go and release? What do you no longer need? What needs to be cut loose? What can be restructured in your life so that you have more space for what truly nourishes you? We may also get great clarity today about what we truly need to move forward in our lives. Use this day effectively and invite in transformation. Is this helpful to you? Please share it with at least one friend. Thank you! Plan your week with the planets, sign up for my newsletter. Moon is waning (Krishna Paksha) this week and moves through Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and into Aries. Our attention and intention move inward as the Moon empties.
Sync up with the Moon and its waxes and wanes on a physical level. Learn more in my Flow With the Moon article. Monday, 5.19 Moon transits Capricorn and Sravana nakshatra today. Vishnu and the Moon rule Sravana. Vishnu is all-pervasive, like akasha (space), and connects us to the three realms earth, sky (cosmos) and heaven (universe). The Rg Ved tells us that Vishnu took three steps, traversed these three realms, and he expands our consciousness. Vishnu and Sravana nakshatra connects us to dharma, the oral traditions, wealth and prosperity. Capricorn's ruler, Mars, goes direct today at 20:28 CDT. We can expect the mind, creativity and actions to be moving in a more forward motion now. Be intentional and plan your steps carefully. Sharpen your focus. Set your desires into motion. Take three powerful steps- in honor of Vishnu. Tuesday, 5.20 Moon moves to Dhanishta nakshatra today at 10:00 am CDT. With Dhanishta's planetary ruler being Mars (now direct), we may feel grande momentum today and a strong work ethic in place. Vasu, the presiding deity of this nakshatra, urges us to shine brightly, to achieve excellence and wealth. Dharma is a predominant force here. Today, seek comfort, seek support, seek the spark alive within you. Move towards your shining. Use this mantra to connect to the light (jyoti) that is available to us through the Vasu-Devas: Aum namo bhagavate vasudevaya Moon moves to Aquarius at 21:14 CDT and receives gaze (drishti) from Rahu, and Jupiter here. Wednesday, 5.21 Moon transits Aquarius, receiving gaze (drishti) from Rahu, and Jupiter here and moves into Satabhisha nakshatra at 08:31 am CDT. Varuna and Rahu rule the day through this nakshatra. Varuna is connected to unseen (invisible) obstacles- which is also another attribute of the sign Aquarius and its ruler, Rahu, the shadow planet. Watch for excess judgement and criticism today, as well as looking for inner wrongs and the wrongs of others. Take care of your health and work towards removal of inner/outer obstacles. It is Wednesday (day of Mercury) and Moon is transiting its 8th phase (tithi) called Ashtami also ruled by Rahu. This is the half way point in the waning cycle. A feeling of being in limbo might be felt today, a sense of urgency to change, but resistance to act or move might be heightened. Look for fears and anxiety to be present with this push/pull dynamic. The mind is delicate through the weekend as Mercury changes signs; while in transition, it passes through its sandhi (gap) phase and asks us to move our senses inward. Avoid making decisions until Mercury strengthens (Saturday) and temper feelings of overwhelm and mental tension with fresh air, embodiment and creative outlets. Write your worries and fears down on paper. Let them flow like water onto the page in order to empty your mind. It's ok to think big today, just don't succumb to overwhelm. Take bite sized action steps for best results. Thursday, 5.22 Venus moves towards the edge of Pisces and becomes sandhi in the wee hours. Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada at 7:19 am CDT. Ajaikapada (a form of Shiva, lord of the dance) and the planet Jupiter are enlivened today- especially because it is Thursday, the day of Jupiter. Today may offer a sense of both expansion and contraction. We may feel the need to cut pieces loose that need to be let go of in order for greater growth and change. There might be an energy today of overwhelm, balancing the impossible, and/or having a foot in two opposing realms. The word of the day is tapas. Think in terms of purification and learning from the obstacles afoot. Mercury moves to its own sign (Gemini) at 15:32 CDT, joining Jupiter there. This is cause for celebration and insures that our mental and creative capacities will get an expansive boost in the coming weeks, though not without navigating some shadow work as Rahu gives his drishti (gaze) nine houses away from Libra. Some may even get a monetary leg up or some notoriety with this cycle. This is an unusually lengthy transit for Mercury who usually zooms through signs in only a few weeks, but this cycle will last for over two months! Part of this time he will retrograde and become sandhi at the edge of Gemini, but nonetheless, our mental faculties will be getting some support during this transit. As per my planetary transit report for the waning Moon cycle: A powerful transit of "increase" is upon us with this one. More knowledge, more wisdom, more understanding and more of all things Mercury. Expect money making ideas and desires to increase simultaneously. Don't let the mind run off with you. Reign it in. Being diligent this month with the mental body and meditation will be valuable and deepen your efforts and experiences with this transit. More on Mercury's transit into Gemini in my next planetary transit report next week. Use the "soft mind" of sandhi Mercury for inner reflection and introspection until he strengthens in degrees on Saturday. Friday, 5.23 Moon changes signs, moving to Pisces at 00:38 am CDT, joining a very sandhi Venus here and receives direct drishti (gaze) from Mars seven houses away. Shortly thereafter, Moon moves into Uttarabhadrapada at 06:27 am CDT where the naga (serpent) Ahirbudhnya and the planet Saturn predominate. A Rudra who removes calamities, Ahirbudhnya offers us great insights, depth and awareness if we choose to navigate the unseen and hidden realms within ourselves. As per my planetary transit report for the waning Moon cycle: Moving out of its exaltation sign of Pisces and into Aries, Venus makes the transition at 18:09 CDT. This is a particularly tricky junction as Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and is a water sign, whereas Aries is the beginning of the zodiac and a fire sign. The symbolism here: endings and new beginnings, as well as starting anew. Venus will be feeling the pressure this month as he shares Aries with Ketu and also receives direct gaze (drishti) from Saturn and Rahu seven houses away as well as Mars eight houses away. A nice exchange between Sun and Venus occurs though as Sun transits Taurus (ruled by Venus) and Venus transits Aries (ruled by Sun). Heat, pressure and transformations are inevitable, however. We may feel this in our relationships, with our creativity, passions, artistry, and with our flow of money. We may get an increase of support and a greater feeling of power and possibility with this transit. However, as Venus joins Ketu in Aries, expect a purification of these areas of life to occur as well as a restructuring with all things Venus. Saturday, 5.24 Moon moves to Revati nakshatra at 5:54 am CDT. Pushan and Mercury preside over this nakshatra. Mind strengthens as Mercury strengthens in degrees today which helps us harvest the nourishment that Pushan offers ton us. Prosperity, increase, and a sense of flourishing can arrive through Pushan. He protects us on our paths and helps our journey be comfortable and with ease. Today, look for ways you can expand your wealth and prosperity and notice where you are needing extra nourishment and support. What is working? What is not working? Now is the time to make adjustments so that more gains can be felt. FYI: some letting go will be required in this process. Sunday, 5.25 Sun moves to Rohini nakshatra at 02:55 am CDT. This can help our sense of creative potential. Look for insights and intuitive guidance pointing you in the right direction. Let your creativity be unleashed! Moon crosses the tricky junction point between Pisces (end of the zodiac and water sign) and moves into Aries (beginning of zodiac and fire sign) at 5:43 am CDT where it joins Venus and Ketu there; all will be in Ashwini nakshatra. These three planets receive direct drishti (gaze) from Rahu and Saturn seven houses away in Libra as well as from Mars eight houses away. Get activated! Cut loose the old attachments and barnacles holding you back. Burn away impurities and seek healing and rejuvenation- especially with relationships. You may feel this need for change and restructuring on the mental level or it may be required of you. Get creative. Harmonize more with your desires and great potential. Use your Sunday for taking extra care of your needs. Relax, restore, and use your favorite techniques for rejuvenation. Plan your week in tune with Nature. Never miss my Moon Mind Calendar. Sign up for my newsletter. And if you like this post, please share it! Thank you! Moon is waning (Krishna Paksha) and transits through Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and into Aries this week. This is week of turning inward, moving towards more introspection and harvesting inner wisdom. We are still in the midst of the delicate eclipse period, moving towards the solar eclipse on the 29th. Be gentle, stay receptive, find drops of compassion for your Self and others. Find ways to prune your life and allow in more space for joy and healing. Seek rest and restoration.
Monday, 4.21 Moon is in Uttarashada nakshatra today and moves to Capricorn at 13:15 CDT. Uttarashada is connected to Vishvadeva who guides integrity, good character and right action according to the Laws of Nature. Connect with integrity and focus today. Look for clarity in relationships. Be direct but make sure you are aligned with a heartfelt desire to be of service and you can't go wrong. The theme of overworking is high for the next two days so remember to work smarter, not harder. Ask your Self: Where can I cut back and let go? Where am I overworking? Struggling for success? What parts of my life/work are not getting the necessary support of Nature I need to thrive? Use these as prompts for your pruning work. Tuesday, 4.22 Moon moves to Sravana nakshatra at 6:07 am CDT. Look for Vishnu's expansive wisdom today. Wherever you have done some pruning in your life, space is being created. This space is vital for your personal expansion, for greater wisdom and clarity to enter. Let Vishnu assist you with this process today. No answer or insight is too small or insignificant. Likely you will need to be still and embodied in order to hear his messages. It may also help to connect with others, or to listen to some timely wisdom for extra guidance. Your relationships and connections can be a resource for this. The point is: be receptive and open to receive. Wednesday, 4.23 Moon moves to Dhanishta nakshatra at 4:36 am CDT. The Vasu Devas are sources of illumination and abundance, they bring us light (jyoti) and help us manifest on the material plane of existence. Get your head right today. Get your focus clear. Get your agenda in place. What is the goal? What is the necessary next step or action to achieve this goal? This focus needs to be balanced with some ease and grace. The "art of allowing" in other words. Both dynamics are key to "getting the job done" and to achieving life balance. Use music to get in the flow. Sing to lighten your mood. Empty the contents of your head and let in the Vasu Devas illumination with art and creativity. Allow space and time for awakening. Don't get overheated. Moon moves to Aquarius at 15:51 CDT, joining Venus there. Both receive drishti (gaze/aspect) from Rahu and Jupiter here. The focus becomes more about relating and our relationships later in the day as a result of Moon's movement. Avoid being needy and greedy, but rather work towards being receptive and open to receiving messages from others. Come to relationships with neutrality, a willingness to listen and with compassion. This will be an ample gift to share and way to let your light shine. Thursday, 4.24 Moon moves to Satabisha nakshatra at 3:07 am CDT. Let the gaze of Jupiter on the Moon soften the judgement of Varuna today. The inner critic may be high, on alert and feeling persecuted by others. What can we learn from these messages and where can we lighten, and let go? Keep interaction and life simple today. Return to the theme of "less is more" for guidance. Mind your manners and work towards a unified harmony rather than "separateness." The blessing today comes from Jupiter moving back into Punarvasu at 7:42 am CDT. Aditi and her desire for unity consciousness return to us as we expand towards knowledge and wisdom- with a bit less of Rahu's influence on the overall planetary transits. Read more about Jupiter's transit through Gemini here. Friday, 4.25 In the wee hours of the morning at 1:44 am CDT, Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra moving into close degrees with Venus. Find ways to lighten the load and the burdens of your life today. This is an excellent day for letting go of what isn't serving your highest good, looking for release, and asking for Lord Shiva's assistance with the process. Use yoga and dance to come back to a state of inner balance and reset after the long week. Today is a day of purification, which isn't always fun or joyful, but innately important and valuable. If there are any places of gripping, holding on or forcing, now is the time to seek change. Ask your self and your body: Where am I resisting? Where can I allow more ease and grace? What needs to die in order to create space for re-birthing? Where am I pushing too hard? Moon moves to Pisces at 18:48 CDT and into direct gaze from Mars. Clarity can come at this time, or mental/emotional outbursts such as anger. If you feel your temperature rising, looks specifically at why you are pushing too hard, doing too much, forcing an outcome, or being overly egocentric. These rules apply to the next 2.5 days. With Venus sandhi (in the gap) moving towards Pisces, pay special attention to relationships through the end of the week. Find ways to soften and flow, and move out of rigidity. Saturday, 4.26 At 00:36 am CDT, Moon moves to Uttarabhadrapada where the carving out process of yesterday begins to take shape with clarity, introspection and enlightening wisdom today. With the help of Ahirbudhnya, a naga (serpent) who helps us dive deep and look beneath the surface, we can use the previous days work to harness a deeper awareness now. It all adds up and becomes valuable so don't disregard the simple; it's all profound. Allow time for the mists and fogs to clear and the serpent energy to enliven. Serpent messages are connected to renewal, flexibility and awakening. Mercury, moving swiftly through Aries with Ketu and exalted Sun there as well, moves into Bharani nakshatra at 15:48 CDT. Mental sensitivity is high right now and in the coming days. Use this to your advantage and also as a tool of compassion for your Self and your relationships. What is weighting you down? What are the mental restraints and conditions you have put on your Self and others? Evaluate these for possible change. Nearing the end of the day at 23:31 CDT, Moon moves into Revati nakshatra where Pushan comes with his nourishing attentiveness. Sunday, 4.27 Where this week may have provided some scattering, some sense of being "lost" or misguided, overwhelmed or undernourished, today we get to re-gather and increase our inner reservoir. Pushan is a protector, a guide for the path, and helps us flourish and prosper. He encourages wealth in the material world, but is also a guide for the astral world. Eat lightly today as he prefers easily digestible foods. Our intuition and inner awareness after all are connected to the gut and our "gut responses". Venus moves to its sign of exaltation, Pisces, at 13:49 CDT and into Purvabhadrapada nakshatra. A passionate, expansive and creative month is ahead for all of us! More about this transit in next week's Waxing Moon Transit Report + Horoscopes. At 22:51 CDT, Moon crosses the tricky junction point of Pisces (water) and moves into Aries (fire) where he joins exalted Sun, Ketu, and Mercury there and moves into Ashwini nakshatra and receives drishti (gaze) from Mars eight houses away. Implosion or explosion? Our plates suddenly feel piled high and bursting at the seams, while energy resources may feel depleted and overwhelmed. We are nearing the final moon phase (15th tithi) and the new Moon + solar eclipse on the 29th. Monday morning will hit with a bang so try to get a good night sleep tonight. On Monday, don't sweat the small stuff, get out of your head and into your body as much as possible. Take "embodiment breaks" to stay grounded. Seek healing and rejuvenation and avoid the emotional outbursts. If overwhelm is present, take a good look at your head space and prioritize tasks effectively. Don't blame others. This does not have to be a day of crisis. *Enrollment ends Sunday April 27th for the Exalted Sun {virtual} Workshop + Early Bird discount! Get details and sign up here. In lieu of this week's New Moon in Sravana nakshatra and Vishnu's "three steps", we will play with pattern and rhythm this week during our dance- while using legs and feet as our entry point.
Legs and feet are grounding, support and bring movement- both forward and backward momentum as well as side to side, up and down. There are metaphors with this connection to direction but legs/feet also symbolize the planetary movement and momentum as well. This week, Venus goes from retrograde (backward) motion to direct (forward) motion. This movement can inform our creativity, our dance, our own actions. Begin with slow, calculated steps walking in a circle. Find a rhythm, a beat, as your feet connect with the floor. Keep moving. Find your momentum and find your dance. Notice a movement that is returning. Are you swinging your arms and legs in a certain way more than once? Are you bending and lifting your leg a certain way over and over? Are you rolling and lifting off the floor continuously? Be a witness to your movements and notice your movement cycles. Then hit the pause button and stop. Recycle the movement. Step once again. Then pause. Repeat this cycle several more times. What do you notice? How does it feel to repeat this movement and what body parts are being used? Go back to your fluid dance and then try it again. Notice your movement patterns. Then pause and stop. Recycle the movement. Step once again. Then pause. Take some time to harvest your findings. What body parts were used in your movement sequence? What feelings came to you? Colors? Textures? Emotions? Sensations? What was your connection/relationship to the floor or other surfaces? What was your connection to space (the third) in this sequence? As I step forward in my life, I need____. As I move forward in my life, I want_____. What is the missing piece(s) in my life dance____? |
