{Moon Mindfulness ::: Mind Your Moon}
6.11 & 6.12 Moon is in Cancer (its own sign), transiting Punarvasu nakshatra until 18:40 CDT today. Punarvasu is ruled by the deity Aditi, the universal Ma, the goddess of all good, she who gives goodness and abundance and showers her children with love. She can remove hindrances and obstacles, offer resources and provide wisdom- which is the ultimate gift. Aditi is the mother of the devas (the gods) and is our unified consciousness. Ruled by Jupiter, Punarvasu's experience for us right now may be about "tying it all together" and making sense of the fragmentation in body, mind, spirit and emotions. Look for the gift that keeps coming back. Look for the soft summer rains to clear some cobwebs. As Moon moves into Pushya later in the day and into Wednesday, the nourishment of this awareness should settle in. Pushya is symbolized by the udder of a cow, the sustenance of Ma, and gives ultimate nourishment for mind, body, soul. Pushya is ruled by Brihaspati, another name for Jupiter (the guru) however, this nakshatra is actually ruled by the planet Saturn, planet of grief and time, suffering. As the dust settles into the cracks and the awareness softens, note the sweet nectar that only can be offered by time. There may, however, be a bit of an edge, a sip of sadness, a few sighs in the process as Moon receives drishti from Saturn as it dances through Cancer (the emotional, heart centered, sign). Proceed with compassion- for your self and others. *Follow my daily Moon Mind posts on Facebook and via my blog for increased daily insights into the dance of nakshatra/pranic/intuitive and creative awareness.

Moon Mindfulness ::: Mind Your Moon
5.30 Moon in Aquarius transiting Dhanishta nakshatra until 20:43 CDT tonight. Moon is in the dark half (waning) in the 7th tithi which is ruled by Saturn. Aquarius is also ruled by Saturn and the Moon is receiving drishti from Rahu today from its position in Libra where it sits with Saturn and is also the sign of exalted Saturn. There is a lot of Saturn coinciding with the moon today. Some of us may feel this as depression, sadness, grief, disappointment, discouragement. It is important on these days to get embodied, physical movement and connection to prana are essential. Dhanishta is ruled by Vasu (and the planet Mars) and its translation is "the most famous" or "the most wealthy". Vas means "to shine" so sometimes this is called the "shining star". People born with Dhanishta nakshatra tend to be extra sparkly and shiny- their light is attractive to others. The eight Vasu-deva are sources of abundant wealth, prosperity and illumination which can be associated with the material plane of existence or the realms of knowledge, insight and inner expansion. The Vasu-deva are connected to dharma and fulfilling desires in the relative world- hence there is a lot of creative potential and ability here. Jyotish is also connected to Dhanishta as it is a source of light (literally jyoti), expansion, dharma and enlightenment. Use today's creative spark of insight for creativity, manifestation and dharma to create awareness and growth. Jupiter moves into Gemini late this evening for one year- signaling a new creative focus for all of us. Initiate the year with your own inner abundance- the light of you. 5.22 Moon transits Libra in Chitra nakshatra until 17:05 CDT when it moves to Swati nakshatra. Chitra is ruled by Vishvakarma, the divine architect. Today is about subtle expansion, utilizing creativity, and proper orchestration based on the planetary positions effecting us right now. Later today, as Moon moves to Swati, Vayu will gear up for movement, force and change- expect mental fluctuations and give your self room for flexibility. Moon is in its bright half (waxing) in the 13th tithi which is ruled by Jupiter. Chitra nakshatra is ruled by Mars. As a result, both Mars and Jupiter's influence is heightened today. Both are Sandhi (in the gap) and moving to new houses. The feeling for these planets is "packing up past belongings and feeling unsettled". They are in the netherworlds. Mars moves to Taurus today at 22:11 CDT (Jupiter will move to Gemini on the 30th). Lethargy and apathy abounds. When Moon moves to Swati nakshatra later in the day, Rahu's influence will be heightened as it rules this nakshatra. As Moon transits Libra for several days, it is in conjunction with Saturn and Rahu. Saturn is still retrograde and sitting in its position of exaltation, thus rendering it debilitated. We are still in clean up mode as a result- Saturn bringing us into direct contact with our "core" issues. Revisit my Saturn/Rahu articles for a reminder on what our work is right now. [Links below]. Today is one of those days where frustrations, disappointments, complexities, overwhelm and disturbances play their part in our mental/emotional bodies. If you can lay low, do it. If you must blow with the winds of Vayu, bring a parachute and try to coast towards Earth. Take it as it comes and chalk this one up to house cleaning. The best use of your efforts is using creative expression to move the emotions- dance, sing, paint, create with your hands, move the stories. http://www.swatijrjyotish.com/1/post/2013/02/february-26th-2013.html Moon Mindfulness ::: Mind Your Moon
05.02.13 Moon is waning (dark half) and transits Capricorn. It moves from Sravana nakshatra to Dhanishta at 15:11 CST. Sravana is ruled by Vishnu (as well as the Moon) and is connected to expansion and all-pervasiveness. Vishnu is everywhere like akasha (space) and he upholds dharma. Dharma is upheld by knowledge which is transmitted through akasha. A three-in-one quality exists here. Similarly, Vishnu took three steps to traverse "the three realms"- earth, sky (cosmos) and heaven (universe). Two of these steps are visible, but the third is beyond the vision of mortals or animals. There are also three symbols for Sravana- three footprints (in reference to traversing three realms), a trident (Vishnu's power) and an ear (the transfer of dharma through akasha as well as the oral tradition). Sravana can bring fame, notoriety, expansion of consciousness, dharmic pursuits, positions of power and fortune. Not surprisingly, it is a moveable nakshatra but ephemeral- it easily changes its nature. It is a constellation that can benefit one's own welfare as well as others. Today there is powerful movement and change likely. With Moon in Capricorn, a sign ruled by Saturn who is currently sitting with Rahu in Libra, the Rudra energy of these planet's dynamic comes into play for today. Mars rules Capricorn as well and is currently conjunct Venus (now sandhi- in weak degrees), and Ketu, Sun and Mercury- all in Aries. (Check this week's horoscopes to see the tendencies of this impact on your rising sign). The mind and intuition will be stirred. Which way will the winds take you? Aim for expansion, focused awareness, and dharmic pursuits. Connect with mind, body and spirit. Utilize yoga, pranayama and meditation for harmonizing the physical body, mental body and emotional body. Moon Mindfulness ::: Mind Your Moon
04.27.13 Moon transits its debilitation sign, Scorpio and is in Anuradha nakshatra. Ruled by the deity, Mitra, and the planet Saturn, there is a connection to friendships and details- the kind that Saturn offers. Saturn is equated with time, hard work, effort and grief and certainly knows scrutiny and finest awareness. Mitra literally means friend, ally, companion and is supportive and sustainable. It is through long-term friendships, companions and those relationships that we put effort into, that give results. Yet there is no iron clad guarantee that anything will last. Mitra people do what it takes anyway- because friendliness is second nature to them. As a result, there may be ups and downs with friendships and the people they feel close to considering Saturn is associated with this star. Anuradha/Mitra people may put more into a friendship then they get in return, or they give everyone the cold shoulder knowing it will end in disappointment anyway. The friendships that last, will be the ones that make it through the thick and the thin. These are blessings indeed. Mitra people also tend to get big favors from special people. Consider it a boon for your hard work. Today Moon gets drishti/aspect from Mars which will stir up some of the agitation and perhaps anger around our relationships (especially because Anuradha is ruled by Saturn and Saturn and Rahu are in Libra together being blown around and purified by Vayu and Indragni). You may feel a rub, a roar or an explosion depending on your own planets/nakshatras. On an opposite extreme, you may also feel the emotional blessings of lineage, especially mother today, due to the transits. Mercury Sandhi (in the gap) moving towards Aries- communication is vulnerable.Take it all in stride. Ride the emotional wave. Dance it, rather then letting it dance you. Be grateful for what is alive and well in your life. |
