{Moon Mind}
Wednesday 8.28 & Thursday 8.29 Moon transits its mulitrikona sign, Taurus today and tomorrow (it is also its sign of exaltation). Currently Moon is in the creative nakshatra, Rohini, ruled by Lord Brahma, the creator god in the trinity of Vedic gods. Brahma is also referred to as Prajapati, lord of progeny- he who progenated the human race. Creative energy is exalted here through the arts, fertility, passion and expressions of shakti. It is also the day of Lord Krishna's birth- Krishna Janmashtami- which falls during the waning Moon (dark half) while Moon is in Rohini nakshatra and the 8th tithi (Ashtami) during the month of Bhadrapada. Baby Krishna and all his attributes are celebrated at this time. The 8th tithi ends today at 17:40 CDT. Krishna is known as an avatar and the eighth incarnation of Vishnu. He exemplifies love, beauty, creativity and devotion as well as dharma. The story of his love for Radha, is the epitome of an epic love story. Together they create create the spark of life, shakti, which can then come into form. They represent the balance and union of both the masculine and feminine. Today is a beautiful reminder of life, balance, love and harmony. The special celebrations in the Vedic Calendar give us time to pause, reflect on what is, and how we can restructure some balance that may be missing. With the current planetary trend of debilitated Venus and Mars testing our relationships and masculine/feminine dynamics both internally and externally, it is a good day to re-evaluate our desires. As Moon moves into Mrgashirsha nakshatra on 8.29 at 04:56 CDT, our resolve from the previous day gets tested. There is more heat and less water in the planets today so watch for anger, frustrations, and irritations. Keep cool and calm. Channel emotions effectively in creative outlets.

Moon Mind :::
Tuesday, 8.27 Moon moves into its sign of exaltation, Taurus, and transits Krittika nakshatra. Krittika is ruled by the Sun and lord of fire, Agni. Expect some shine, some bright light, some heat and some flash to pervade the day. However, Taurus is ruled by Venus, which is debilitated currently in Virgo. Venus is in a nakshatra, ruled by the Moon, Hasta, and the Moon is waning. Expect the Moon shine to be a bit dimmer than one might like. Still, make hay while the sun & moon shine. To maximize the agni, make divine fire offerings today- whether literally or metaphorically. Stoke the internal passions. Tend to your internal agni- especially the one that digests food and gives life force quality. Cut away, cut out, that which is not needed, not necessary, not serving you. Wed, 07.03.13 Moon in Aries in Krittika nakshatra, ruled by Agni and the planet Mars. Moon moves to Taurus (its place of exaltation) at 16:20 CDT. Today is about creating clarity, purification and burning out impurities- mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Be mindful of pushing too hard, forcing things to happen. Later today, seek emotional comfort and ease. Do what is necessary for a bit of peace, sanity, mental comfort. Dance your dance- even if it's messy. Moon Mindfulness ::: Mind Your Moon
Wednesday, 6.7.13 Moon in Taurus, its position of exaltation and in Rohini nakshatra. Moon, Sun, and Mars are all in Rohini until Sun moves to Mrigashirsha at 18:41 CDT. Rohini is ruled by Lord Brahma, so there is a triple Brahma experience occurring right now. Lord Brahma is the creator god who created the universe and also created the human race (sometimes he is referred to as Prajapati- lord of progeny). The planetary rulership for Rohini is the Moon and thus expresses the maximum creativity of this lunar star. Rohini gives a strong connection to the arts, the creative process, music and learning since Brahma is not only a creator, but married to Goddess Saraswati who rules over knowledge, wisdom and the creative arts. There is also fertility associated with Rohini as well as any act of creation and creativity. With the alignment of Mars, Sun and Moon in Rohini until later this evening + occurring on a Friday (day of Venus- planet of passion, romance, the feminine and creativity) and in tithi 15 ruled by Rahu, we get a high sense of worldly creative action. (There are also several other connections between Venus and Rahu currently that give influence). This can bring a connection between foreign, commerce, creativity, women, desires, trade, art, the divine feminine, and new expansion with these. Use the power of today to create. Thursday, 6.6.13 Moon has entered Taurus, its sign of exaltation, and transits Krittika nakshatra. Moon near its new moon phase and is in the 14th tithi currently in Chaturdasi (a tithi ruled by Venus). Krittika nakshatra is ruled by the deity Agni and also the Sun. He is known for burning, cutting, clarifying and purifying. The translation from Sanskrit is "razor" while the symbol here is of an axe, scalpel or flame. Agni is literally the fire of life, the sacred fire god. He is instrumental in the process of alchemy, digestion, connecting us to consciousness and the higher realms, and helps us to "cook" and assimilate life. My beloved Vaidya, Rama Kant Mishra, once described stomach agni to me as the "pilot light" that ignites the stomach fires. It's possible to have a lot of heat and fire in the body, but without the delicate agni being fueled properly, we literally "burn up" from the inside out. Agni is the pilot light that fuels all of our digestive processes. Not just in the gut. Building a proper fire requires a delicate balance of items. We must start with tinder, then kindling and only after a small flame starts these, do we slowly add the big logs. (Dousing the wood with gasoline is never recommended nor can we use wet wood.) Agni makes this entire process of alchemy possible. Every good bonfire starts with agni and a slow build- whether literal or metaphoric. Agni is instrumental in a clear consciousness and powerful insight. Without it, there is dullness, laziness, excess heat, getting scorched, unnecessary anger and emotion, an undigested or overly-digested life. Today is that reminder of building the fire within and using it properly. How are you building and what are you burning? Moon is exalted in Taurus but is there with Mars and Sun- two fire planets. Your emotions may be extra hot today and a certain discomfort may be present. Fan the flames and stay cool. Don't get burned up in the process. Be constructive with your anger. |
