The full Moon occurs on December 6th at 06:26 am CST, while in Taurus and Rohini nakshatra. Moon will be in its mulitrikona degrees, meaning that it can express itself energetically at 75%. This is a very full emotional body cup, and we will feel it! Moon in Taurus at the time of the full Moon, will receive gaze from Rahu as well as three planets still transiting Scorpio, the Moon's debilitation sign. Saturn, Mercury, Sun are all looking at the Moon directly. Hours before the full Moon, Venus jumps into Sagittarius, and is still in very young degrees. The portal between Scorpio and Sagittarius in other words, is open. Venus being a planet of water, it correlates to our inner waters, our creative flow, the streams of love within us. These parts of our being will feel delicate before, during and after the full Moon, especially because Venus is the ruling planet of Taurus, where our full emotional body is transiting. This full Moon brings us a certain intensity and exemplifies extremes. We may be feeling a sense of both fullness and emptiness simultaneously, and the discomfort and uneasiness that this offers. We may be asking ourselves consciously or subconsciously, "is my cup half full or half empty?!" And though we may be aware of this incongruence, we may not have an answer for this. It is a time of many questions, yet few answers. Linger in the questions and allow yourself to hold them in your being, without forcing conclusions at this time. The intention for this full Moon is: If you can dream it, you can create it. With a mulitrikona Moon solidly placed in the extremely creative star, Rohini, the many creative blessings of of Lord Brahma and by default, his consort Goddess Saraswati, are enlivened. This divine couple expresses their influence through manifestation- manifestation from creativity, creative intelligence, and our divine essence which is cosmic creative life force, or shakti. It is on this level of our sacred being that we maximize our potential, not only as a divine being, but as a human being. On this plane of existence, we are here to create our lives, to manifest our dreams into reality, to learn how to create, to literally bring the unmanifest into manifest form. We do this through our first and second chakras. This is the power of being embodied. We can't think our dreams into reality, but we can feel and sense our dreams into reality. This is why I am so passionate about somatic awareness and embodiment work. Read more about manifesting through your second chakra. The coming waning Moon cycle brings us opportunities to fill our cup in new ways, by being creative, extraordinary, and exerting our powerful shakti. Our willingness to embrace our divine creative powers will determine what types of accomplishments, and to what degree, our tasks take root and become manifest. These new roots, however, will come by uprooting and discarding the old, outworn and unhealthy parts of our lives. We can not expect to create our new life with old seeds. With willingness, courage and consistent steps, you can manifest your dreams into reality. Use the potency of this waning cycle to make strides, plant seeds and affirm what your heart desires in the coming year. Remember that we gain the awareness we need for actualizing our dreams by sensing and feeling them, not just thinking them. Essentially, feel your dreams into reality over the next two weeks. Winter Solstice and the New Moon are on December 21st while four planets are in Sagittarius, including Moon and Sun, both in the powerful nakshatra of Mula. This will be an intense time of uprooting which many of us are already feeling. We are already preparing for this cycle at this time. *Full Moon Chart Creative Ritual for the Waning Moon Cycle 1) The Life Pulse. Standing, sense your feet connecting to the surface beneath you. Begin moving with a gentle pulse by bending your knees- opening and closing them- allowing your entire body to respond as you do. Sensing through feet and self tracking from feet to pelvis and then into the spine. Bring presence and awareness to the relationship your legs and feet have with your pelvic bowl, as well as the relationship between spine and pelvic bowl. Next, take your pulse into a walk. Use your pulse to take steps forward, side to side and backward. Experiment, play and explore the movements and functionality of your pelvis as you play with the pulse. Do this for ten minutes at least. I encourage you to work with your pulse daily- even when standing in line or walking. Keep building your awareness, depth and sensory skills with practice. Continue to invite in these questions as you explore the pulse: What am I sensing? What am I feeling? What am I imagining? 2) Pelvis Image. Create an image of your pelvis. Use craypas and a large piece of paper to create this image. Let colors, shapes, textures, images etc come out onto the page. This is not a literal drawing, but an expression of your pelvis. Do not sensor this image, just let it come forth from your sensing, feeling and imagining. Take at least 20 minutes for this drawing. You can continue to add to it a bit every day if you choose and let it be a process rather than complete in one sitting. When your image feels complete, title it. Then ask it to share with you. 3) Harvesting. In your journal, answer these questions as you look at your pelvis image: If your image could speak, what would it tell you? Let your image answer these questions: I am, I want, I need. What am I stepping toward? What am I stepping away from? Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. What you are seeking, is seeking you. ~Rumi Our darkness, our shadow parts, are mostly an undesirable topic, one that most choose to avoid. We are good at speaking about our faults, our issues, our life problems, but this is not the same thing as willingly probing into our dark, murky, inner waters, our haunts, fears and illusions. We may appear to be comfortable with our own darkness, and yet simultaneously, refusing to go deeper into it. In fact many people keep walking around and around the same darkness for years, lifetimes perhaps, with out making much change! This refusal to go deep into our shadow parts and willingly face our deepest, darkest haunts and wounds, leaves us burdened with heavy loads that we never seem to be able to let go of or release. It's like blindly carrying an extra appendage with us. Oh how we try to disguise it, cover it, deny its presence! And yet, this heavy, awkward limb is still attached to us, no matter how hard we try to pretend it doesn't exist. Going into our shadows, requires a strong willingness, and a desire to go beyond our problems. It requires that we start asking "why is this happening to me?" over and over again. And then be courageous enough to seek the answers, the answers that are likely going to be painful, that will force us to change our lives, that will expose our darkest secrets. Just past the depth of our darkness, though, is the light. The gift. The gifts we so desperately seek. The gifts we long for are in fact hidden deep inside our shadow parts. Most of humanity chooses to refuse their own darkness though, and deny that these parts of themselves are in fact alive within them. But just because we are unwilling to look at our darkness, does not make it unreal, or keep it from controlling us. Our shadow parts are still ruling our life whether we choose to face them or not! The blessing of our courageous efforts and our willingness, is finding that within the darkest and most disturbing parts of ourselves, we will actually find the missing pieces we are desperately longing for; our whole and empowered life. If we are truly willing to courageously look into our own shadows we will undoubtedly find the very gifts we so desperately long to receive. Our shadows in fact hold the gifts we seek for wholeness, for our dharmic giving, our offerings to the world, and for a meaningful life. As I continue to peel back the layers of my own shadow, my suffering, my darkness and my illusions, I find more and more pieces that affirm my dharmic gifts, and my offerings to the world. As I continue to face my grief, my struggles, pains and disappointments, I am finding more and more answers for my pain and illusions. I’ve learned (and continue to learn), that when I quit resisting myself, there is immense awakening available to me. This comes through ideas, creativity, clarity, awareness, silence, peace and even joy. The moments when I release my grip, let go, and surrender, I find how much energy I’ve been using to resist my self, my own nature. This is my own resistance to my shadow parts and it takes immense energy to maintain this resistance. We all have resistance. Finding the resistance within yourself and within your life, will point the way towards your own shadow parts. Remember that the energy we use to resist our own darkness takes incredible energy to maintain, and is a drain to the vital life force energy that could be put to good use elsewhere. Energy we could put into living our one precious life- actualizing our dreams, taking bold, fulfilling action steps! We each have an attraction and repulsion dynamic within us; a push and a pull. This is expressed through the eleventh house of the Jyotish chart, the house of pluses and minuses. It is also the energy of Rahu, the north shadow node, as well as the role of Rahu and Ketu in our charts. Each one of us has this drive, a pull towards what we want, which is also very intimately intertwined with what we are resisting or refusing in our lives, and in ourselves simultaneously. What we desperately long for and desire is the core of our shadow work and points the way to all the pieces of our darkness. What we deeply long for is seeking us in other words. And it's hidden beneath our shadows. This shadow, and working with one's darkness in order to awaken, is the juxtaposition of Rahu (shadow) and Ketu (light) in ones Jyotish chart, and why Rahu is both darkness and compulsions, as well as desires and insatiable needs. Let Rahu drive you towards your own wholeness. Let him show you what you long for, what you need the most in this life, and let him also show you what you are resisting simultaneously. Wherever Rahu sits in your jyotish chart (the house, the sign, the planets he interacts with, the nakshatra he resides in etc.) points directly to the main theme of your personal life story. Rahu and Ketu are quite literally karma points and they show us why we have incarnated into this body, into this life, and what we are here to learn. The dance of shadow and light, Rahu and Ketu, fully express our ability and our willingness to grow and awaken in this life time. Will we continue to resist our shadows, our darkness (Rahu)? Or will the compulsion to emerge from the illusions be strong enough to force our awakening and crack us open (Ketu)? The power within the shadow is two fold. When we resist our darkness, we refuse and resist the healing and the medicine of our life has to offer. We are essentially refusing and resisting awakening to our most essential gifts. These gifts always reveal our dharma, our life purpose, our reason for being alive, and thus there is an immense reward for our efforts- if we choose to take on the task fully. However, it is not the path of ease, numbness, ignorance and denial. In order to awaken, we must invite in our shadow parts, continue to go deeper into our darkness in unending cycles, to dive for pearls of truth tirelessly as though our life depends on it. It does. This is why aligning with one's dharma, one's true reason for being alive, is not for everyone, and is in fact evasive for most people. For those of us who thrive on transformation though, the gifts are unending and continue to unfold. Artists, healers, and those here to share wisdom with the world, thrive on these cycles of transformation, change and growth. For us, our most vital task is embarking on consistent cycles of confronting and identifying our shadows and yet not get addicted to these cycles of pain, struggle, and torture. For those of us consistently working with our own shadows rigorously, we must remember to work with and to heal the vow in us that says "we are broken and will remain so." The shadows after all, hold our most potent power, and the wisdom we need for our life and our cycles of death and rebirth. The skill then becomes not just the willingness to go into our shadow, our darkness, but to also know when to let go of it, to release and shift into something new. For some, they will never walk into their shadows and bravely peel back the layers of their suffering and pain. For those of us who are willing to, we must also remember how to come up for air, to take a breath, to dance with both the darkness and the light, to heal and overcome our vow of brokenness, while continuing to bravely dance with our shadows cyclically. Clients who come to me are walking this fine edge of wanting to awaken; there is a desire to know what their life means and how to overcome their biggest obstacles and yet simultaneously there is a strong fear to look. This is the attraction/repulsion dynamic at play, a true expression of Rahu driving us towards answers, yet fearful of what we will find once we get there. As I continue to work with the shadow more and more in my own self development process, and also in my work with clients, I am becoming acutely aware of the reality that fear is really all part of the grande illusion of the shadow. Perhaps Carl Jung put it best, "If there is a fear of falling, the only safety consists in deliberately jumping." Thank you Saturn has now shifted into Anuradha nakshatra for the next year. Moon is waxing and brings us a full Moon this week while the Moon is simultaneously exalted. There will be high energy for this one! This week, we also experience Venus moving out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius, reducing some of the pressure within Scorpio. Exalted Jupiter is at the edge of Cancer now; this is our final week until the spring where we will have a forward moving Jupiter. Next week he goes retrograde on the 8th. Read more about Jupiter in Cancer.
Monday, December 1st Today's Intention: Step slowly, step eloquently, step purposefully. Your steps really add up. As of Sunday, November 30th, Saturn moved into Anuradha nakshatra at 08:54 am CST and will be in this lunar constellation for a little over a year. This is a good shift for Saturn to make and it will likely be a valuable transit for helping us put the pieces together in our lives that need to be re-assembled, re-stored and re-aligned, in order for greater wholeness. Since Saturn is in Scorpio, it's very definitely a time of deconstruction, change and transformation, yet with Saturn transiting the friendly star of Anuradha, ruled by Mitra, we have a chance to create some helpful and lasting changes for ourselves- if we are willing and able to work with the finer details of our lives. Mitra is the deity of friendship, so expect him to offer support and resources for building alliances over the course of 2015. Anuradha is ruled by Saturn, so this is a constellation that does well with Saturn's finite abilities. Gain resources through networking, connecting, sharing, being benevolent, speaking the sweet truth. It will, however, be very important to remember the big picture over the next year, as Mitra and Saturn may get us lost in the fine details of life, forgetting the bigger, overall, reality of existence. Read more about the Saturn in Scorpio transit. Moon is transiting Pisces with Ketu there, and receives drishti from Rahu and Jupiter. Moon transits UttaraBhadrapada, enlivening its deity Ahirbudhnya. He is the serpent of the nether realms, who helps us today with uncovering hidden parts of ourselves. He is a Rudra, a strong force of Nature, one that can remove calamities, misfortunes and can help us overcome obstacles. With Moon in conjunction with Ketu and receiving gaze from Rahu, it's important to remember self care guidelines, and pay special attention to your emotional body. Flashes of insight and awareness may arrive today, yet may trigger discomfort. Work with your discomfort effectively, invite it in for a cup of tea, and begin to find a new relationship with your disillusionment. Now's the time to transform your shadow parts with so much energy enlivening Scorpio. Moon shifts into Revati nakshatra at 13:43 CST, inviting in Pushan and Mercury. Pushan offers us safe travels and nourishment along the way. As Moon nears exact conjunction with Ketu late in the evening, we may feel our sensitivity and our fragility increase, and therefor gain greater access to our needs. Use this time for self care and giving yourself sacred space to feel, sense and imagine. As Cyber Monday closes, Ketu (who rules the internet) may bring some sudden and last minute purchases online. Use the Ketu/Moon conjunction to take sudden or swift action steps. Tuesday, December 2nd Today's Intention: All we need is tender loving care. Moon transits Revati nakshatra, but has crossed over Ketu, separating from him now. Nearing the edge of Pisces, Moon prepares to jump into a new cycle around the zodiac. Ketu continues to reflect his light onto Scorpio where Venus, Sun, Saturn and Mercury are currently transiting. This is the sign that is Moon's place of debilitation, thus the past few days have been a strong emotional body reflection time. Many of us have been feeling that intensity and perhaps looking at ourselves under a microscope. This is a good time to balance this extreme introspection with a wide angle lens, the macroscopic view. Seek resources and reflections from others that can remind you of this. As Moon jumps into Aries at 12:52 CST and we experience a sudden shift. This is a tricky junction point for any planet to cross. Not only is it a pivotal crossing from the end of the zodiac (12th house matters) to the beginning of the zodiac (1st house matters), but Pisces is ruled by water, whereas Aries is ruled by fire. Any planet that shifts from water into fire can feel as though it's literally jumping into the fire! Not comfortable. This coupled with the fact that the zodiac begins with Ashwini nakshatra, ruled by Ketu, so we get this lens intensifying our experience for yet another day. Take it easy today and note the delicacy of the Moon, its shift, and the extreme energy in Scorpio right now. Three level check-ins will help you come back into the now and help you name your needs, affirming what will nourish and comfort you. Sun shifts into Jyeshtha nakshatra at 17:44 CST and moves into Indra's domain. Indra rules our senses, so the coming days give us ample opportunities to work diligently with the sensory level of existence. The senses are the very human parts of our being- they bring us to life and they can also over power us, get us into trouble, and destroy us. Indra reminds us to work with them, not against them. We can't neglect them, yet we can't let them run away with us either. Balance is essential. We find balance when we are in right relationship with our senses. How do we do that? Well the first step is to start building a healthy, aware, and conscious relationship with our senses, and our pranic life force, our breath. Working with the 3 levels of awareness will help us name what is arriving in any given moment on the mental, emotional and physical levels of life. Getting embodied is the missing link. Here are some tips. Moon shifts into the 12th tithi today, signifying its fullness nearing. Wednesday, December 3rd Today's Intention: Our vulnerabilities are the source of our greatest power. Moon continues to transit Aries, a Mars ruled sign, and we may be feeling the extra heat. Mars is exalted right now in Capricorn, and four plants are still transiting Scorpio, another Mars ruled sign. We will likely feel this in the emotional body the most, but this may then overheat the mind and body. Take note, less is more right now, and be diligent with your emotional body needs. Listen to its messages! Moon finishes up in Ashwini nakshatra at 12:13 am CST, when it pops into Bharani nakshatra. Bharani nakshatra enlivens Yama and Venus. This is a fierce and transformational nakshatra, connected to death and dying, restraint and also sensitivity. Today we are reminded about our deep vulnerabilities and how to work with them in a very intentional way. Our vulnerabilities are in fact our biggest strengths, and a resource for our greatest center of power. These vulnerabilities are rooted in the second chakra, our pelvis, which is why the symbol of Bharani is not surprising- the yoni. Finding your power center requires standing firmly in the stability of your pelvis. Thursday, December 4th Today's Intention: The nature of life is to grow and progress, and ultimately to find balance. Moon transits into Krittika nakshatra at 11:51 am CST, receiving drishti still from exalted Mars and now in a Nakshatra ruled by the Sun. The emotional body is hot today! With the Moon now in the 14th tithi, our inner tides are high and we are likely feeling the waters within stronger than ever right now as four planets are transiting Moon's debilitation sign, Scorpio. With the water planet, Venus, now perched on the edge of Scorpio, our inner waters are extra sensitive, extra full, extra vulnerable to the many shifts, changes and fluctuations occurring right now. It's not a comfortable time for many! Krittika nakshatra is ruled by Agni, the fire god of transformation who brings us life, literally. Internally, we have many Agni flames that flicker within, keeping us digesting, burning, transforming and changing in order to live life. Externally, our biggest source of Agni is the Sun (hence the ruler of Krittika). Sun is our ultimate transformational resource within our solar system. If we get too close to the Sun we burn, yet without his light, we die. The Sun, Agni and Krittika, all remind us that just the right amount of purification is best practice- not too much, and not too little. Moon jumps into its exaltation sign, Taurus, at 17:48 CST exemplifying the fullness of our emotional body. Moon is also receiving direct gaze from Sun, Mercury and Saturn in Scorpio now. With the Moon exalted, this gives us three planets feeling their fullness right now (Mars and Jupiter as well). This is your gentle reminder to surf the waves. Contain what needs to be contained, purge what needs to be purged, let go of what needs to be let go of. Three level check-ins will help you with the identification process. Moon shifts into its mulitrikona degrees at 23:10 CST, yet still expresses himself at 75%. Friday, December 5th Today's Intention: If you can dream it, you can create it. Mulitrikona Moon shifts into the extremely creative star, Rohini, at 11:47 am CST, enlivening the blessings of Lord Brahma and by default, his consort Goddess Saraswati. We do this through our second chakra. And this is the power of being embodied. We can't think our dreams into reality, but we can feel and sense our dreams into reality. This is why I am so passionate about somatic awareness and embodiment work. Read more about manifesting through your second chakra. Moon is now in the 15th tithi as Venus jumps into Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra at 16:55 CST. Venus, the creative and passionate planet that symbolizes relationships and the feminine, is in a vulnerable position at this time. Jumping from a sensitive water sign into a fire sign, and right into the challenging nakshatra of Mula. This transit of Venus through Sagittarius takes us through the end of December and will bring a certain discomfort with it, yet a drive to acquire and get material gain. Materialism is not a bad thing- we are after all here in a human form to manifest, create and work directly with our limitless abundance. Yet the wisdom seeking Sagittarius ruled by the guru himself, Jupiter, is not friendly with the asura demon god, Venus. We may find ourselves tangled in the dance of spirit vs. materialism this month. If you are feeling guilt, shame, lack and any aspects of poverty consciousness arrive, I highly suggest working directly with your money problems right now. My favorite technique for overcoming money blockages is the Emotional Freedom Technique. This is a great month to pick of Margaret Lynch's book, Tapping Into Wealth. Saturday, December 6th Today's Intention: Keep reaching towards what nourishes you. Moon is full at 06:26 am CST while in Taurus and Rohini nakshatra. Read my Full Moon Wisdom + Creative Ritual for the Waning Moon Cycle. Moon moves into Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 12:07 pm CST, and Soma, divine nourishment, becomes our primary resource. Soma is another name for the Moon, and is connected to the immortal nectar that brings lasting and unyielding nourishment to us. The Moon's rays are said to offer us Soma, as the filtered rays of the Sun, we can assimilate the light as a healing force, rather than a heating and harming force. The gifts of Soma and the Moon have the power for us to get our needs met, to get the nourishment we need and to find the gifts we are seeking. Mrigashirsha nakshatra is a resourceful constellation and it helps us to branch out, reach out, proliferate and expand. Use this as the metaphor for your day. Expand, grow, nourish and be nourished, and let this be healing. Sunday, December 7th Today's Intention: Play big or go home. Just after midnight, the Moon jumps into Gemini. Out of Rahu's gaze now, as well as Saturn, Mercury and Sun, Moon now receives direct gaze from Venus in Sagittarius. Creativity heightens and we may experience more fluidity and flow of resources today- financial, communication, relational etc. As Moon shifts into Rahu's nakshatra, Ardra, at 12:55 pm CST, a powerful shift occurs. Rahu offers his level of intensity, while Ardra's ruler, Rudra, brings a certain ferocity and strength. End the weekend strong, by finishing tasks, projects and to-do lists, but stay out of the mire, emotional snares, and relationship traps. Mental body and emotional body sensitivity will be intensified. Moon is waning, yet still very full of energy. Mind your emotional body wisdom, tend to its needs, and take care of it by channeling intense emotions effectively. Get the emotions up and out, keep them moving, express them in healthy and cathartic ways, but don't dump on others. This intensity carries us through the greater part of Monday, so keep this in mind as you start your week off with a bang! Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me.
