With the major shifts of last week behind us, we see another wave of change arriving late in the week. New Moon on Friday in conjunction with a total solar eclipse, followed by the beginning of Vasant Navaratri on Saturday, invites in deep release. This is a very inward time- don't be fooled by the intensity and chaos forcing movement and change! The best use of our time is to turn within, gathering our strength and resources, seeking clarity and stability. A deeper external cycle is to come, but don't rush it. Monday begins with an interesting focus on the Moon. Three retrograde planets will give drishti to Moon who transits Capricorn. Retrograde Jupiter, Saturn and Rahu (he always moves in reverse) provoke themes from the past. Our efforts, heart and home, as well as a need for renewed clarity and structure surface. Allow yourself to expand into new territory and become aware of possible resources as you do so. Stay awake and open to receive what arrives. Don't forget to say thank you. Rise and shine on Tuesday. Take lemons and make them into lemonade. Keep on the sunny side of life and work with gaining momentum with your ideas, goals and career endeavors. Moon has moved to the 14th tithi by Wednesday, inviting in a deepening inward experience as we near Amavasya, or the new Moon. Satabisha nakshatra is awakened by the Moon today and we may notice a harsher edge arrive on the mental and emotional body levels. This critical edge can help us bring awareness to our needs. What is working? What is not? How can these inner challenges help us find new pathways of being? Take your challenges into change and solutions. Seek healing through renewal. Have you signed up for my *free* Jyotish Basics Class on Saturday, March 21st? Don't miss out on this free class! I will be sharing how to deepen your self awareness through tracking the Moon and transits. I'm excited to share my favorite tips, tricks and resources with you! Sign up for details. Thursday invites us to deepen our dance with emotions and mind. What is our relationship with the emotional body and the mental body? Can we navigate their differences consciously? It may feel that we are balancing opposing forces today. Keep one foot firmly grounded and let the other prepare for a big leap forward. We are each stepping into very new territory at this time with an invitation to open doors of possibility. Pay attention for clues. Your mind may be telling you one thing, but listening to your emotional body and intuition are truly most important. As Moon arrives into the 15th tithi today, the final phase of the waning cycle, we will be feeling pulls to our depths. Let self inquiry and soft listening be a priority. The new Moon arrives on Friday, March 20 at 04:37 CDT while Moon is in Pisces and Uttara Bhadra Nakshatra. Spring equinox (northern hemisphere) starts today! A Solar Eclipse occurs with the new Moon beginning at 02:41 CDT and ends at 06:50 CDT. Eclipses represent the shadowed self, our inner darkness that must come to the light. The solar eclipse brings shadows on the Sun, the ego and the masculine, ultimately our inner power. In the Vedic tradition, this is not a time to take risks, start new endeavors, or to over-exert. It is a time, however, of turning inward, of meditation and contemplation and a time to take extra care of the physical body with good routine etc. This eclipse marks a delicate two week period between eclipses which will end with a lunar eclipse and full Moon on April 4th. Traditionally starting new endeavors during this delicate eclipse period is not advised. Want to know more about this new Moon, its theme and impact on you? My 2015 Moon Wisdom Calendar gives you this and more!! Get the details. Friday brings a sense of juggling multiple tasks. We may feel urgency to make change. Anger, frustrations and overwhelm may set in. Be diligent with the emotions that are emerging and take notes. What themes are you noticing from your personal mythology? What are you ready to change in order to create something different? This is a time of deep release and re-structuring. Expand towards what nourishes you. The nine day celebration of the Divine Mother, Vasant Navaratri, begins Saturday with Moon in Pisces conjunct Mars, Sun and Ketu. All four planets receive drishti from retrograde Jupiter and Rahu, intensifying the feeling of being expanded and pulled in multiple directions. Balance is a key reminder today. Spend time meditating, getting embodied and taking time to restore and relax. Do less and accomplish more- even though it will feel extra challenging. Use today for total rejuvenation. Read more about Vasant Navaratri and how to make the most of this sacred time. I'll be sharing a 10 Day Self Care Challenge in my newsletter in the coming days for some extra resources. I'll be sharing my favorite tips, tricks and resources to help you track the Moon in order to help you deepen your self tracking process. Sign up for details. Moon joins Venus in Aries on Sunday. Start your day with the intention of restoration and release. Use the latter half of your day to connect in meaningful ways, to deepen and transform your relationships. Expect some bumps and challenges with this process, but trust the re-structuring process occurring right now. All of our relationships- with self and with others- are shifting at this time. Mars moves to the edge of Pisces and prepares to jump into the tricky gandanta (junction point) between Pisces and Aries. A deep transformation of our warrior nature is being confronted at this time. This placement requires surrender and an intention of allowing in new possibilities. Let go of your agenda for now. Sunday is the second day of Navaratri and the second of three dedicated to the fierce goddess Maha Durga. Now is the time to be using your inner power to let go of and release the parts of your self that are no longer serving your highest self. This theme of relationships caries us through Monday. Be mindful about how you are connecting, and who you are connecting with. My next *free* Jyotish Basics Class is March 21st. Feel Like A Goddess Inside and Out With these 10 Simple Self Care Steps Beauty is essential for life. It brings us joy, a sense of contentment, and I’ve come to realize it is valuable for our sense of well being as well. We need to feel good in our bodies- inside and out! Here's my list of musts when I need a pick me up, a mood shift, or a reminder of my innate goddess Self: 1. Bring the beauty of spring alive all year round by giving your Self fresh flowers. Whether a single stem rose, a lovely bouquet you gathered in the woods, or a large arrangement of your favorites, it's worth it to have the sight and smell of Nature nearby. It's amazing how walking into a room with fresh flowers can bring a mood shift. 2. When things seem pretty dismal or days have been long and unrelenting, I need a good pat on the back for my efforts and a reminder of what my inherent values are. I can't count on others to give me all the messages I need, so I remind myself. Simple and sweet is all I need. "I am enough and I am loved. Thank you for being." Want the world to go 'round? Share your affirmation with someone special. 3. My bath rituals are a weekly, personal necessity and they are part of my list of recommendations to clients for clearing energy and promoting inner peace. The maha version includes an abyangha (Ayurvedic self massage) with Vaidya Mishra's Rasayana Oil and then a soak in the tub with sea salt (clears energy) and my favorite essential oils (usually lavender). Don't forget a mud mask if you have time! 4. Along with my weekly rituals, I include a minimum of one day per week of "light eating" as a gentle detox. This is part of a standard Ayurvedic protocol, but is excellent for feeling tip top from inside out. I eat kitchari several times a week to help keep my belly in check. The best part? It cooks while you do other things and then voila! It's ready to eat when you are! 5. Take a walk in the fresh air and move your body! Nothing says "goddess" like the energized feeling you get from moving your inner prana and getting your circulation going! 6. Just a touch of rouge and lip gloss will do! No need for a heavy make up routine. A quick brush of blush on the cheeks and a hint of gloss on the lips will brighten your look and your mood. It feels good to look good. 7. Walk barefoot outside and hug trees. Ground through your feet and soak up earth's natural ability to clear EMF's and stress by touching the earth with your bare feet. Hugging trees is also a great way to ground, defrag the system and get close to Nature. 8. When I've been sitting in front of the computer too long, my eyes begin to glaze and my body says stop. My favorite way to pause is with a good spritz of Vaidya Mishra's Blissful Awakening spray. Don't have any on hand? Plain rose water will do! It is a great facial toner and also helps calm Pitta dosha as well as the eyes. For the maha version: put your feet up, spritz two cotton pads with rose water and put them on your eyes. Rest for ten minutes while taking deep breaths. This is the ultimate pick me up. Your eyes will thank you. 9. Dance and sing. As the saying goes: "dance as though no one is watching and sing as though no one can hear you." It's good for you and uplifts the spirit. As a student of body-centered Expressive Art Therapy, I will vouch for this! 10. Adorn your Self! Put on earrings. Drape your Self in layers of necklaces. Wear jewels and malas. No place to go? No worries! Do it because you are a goddess and you deserve to look good and feel good from the inside out! Ready to take your inner growth to the next level and deepen your relationship with your inner feminine wisdom?

This ancient calendar is one that is dedicated to Nature and her cycles and rhythms, the planets, and most importantly the Moon. In the Vedic Calendar, time is connected to what Nature and the cosmos are doing, and these elements are intimately related. Navaratri occurs twice a year- in the "gap" seasons of spring and fall. These times are considered sandhi times; delicate times that feel like you are neither here, nor there. We might call it the netherworld. This time, though delicate, is considered sacred. In the spring, Navaratri marks the "waking up" of the devis or the goddesses; the aspects of Natural Law that enliven growth, abundance, prosperity, learning, well being, change and transformation. The goddesses Durga, Saraswati and Lakshmi symbolize these parts of life and Nature, while also being parts of our own innate being. The three of them together represent our wholeness, the trinity of life, alive in and around us. These three goddesses also connect to Shakti, the goddess who gives the spark of life to every being, to Nature, and to existence. Vasant Navaratri (or spring Navaratri) begins this year on March 21st and ends on the ninth day, March 29th. This year the celebrations fall in the gap between the new Moon total solar eclipse on the 20th and the full Moon lunar eclipse on April 4th. This heightens the fragility of this period and invites us to attend to our fragility, our vulnerability, at this time. It is an excellent time for self care practices, gentle cleanses and rituals for release, renewal and rejuvenation. Nava means nine in Sanskrit while Ratri means nights. This is a nine day celebration that is divided into three parts. The first three days are dedicated to the goddess Durga. Her warrior spirit cleanses, shifts, uproots, changes and transforms. Think of her as tilling the soil, prior to planting seeds. The next three days of celebration are dedicated to Lakshmi. Her abundance, nurturing, and wealth offer nourishment and support to us on all levels of life. Health is the ultimate wealth and Lakshmi brings this support as well. Finally, we have three days dedicated to goddess Saraswati. She gives us knowledge, understanding, wisdom, creativity and artistry. She is the rasayana (or healing balm) if you will to close this sacred nine day celebration. Together, these three goddesses bring wholeness, renewal, and the life giving offerings of Shakti. This creative life-force energy is truly what inspires life, living and abundance. It is at this time that we can connect to these three goddesses most easily- inside of us, and around us. Because of this, Navaratri is considered a very sacred and powerful time of year- one that influences our inner and outer experience of life for months to come. To connect with the goddesses more closely, make special offerings on your altar for them during the nine days. You can also dedicate your actions and intentions to them for greater communication. Connecting to fire and stoking the internal flame (or agni) can be valuable for the first three days of Durga. You may wish to write intentions that focus on empowerment and action steps for the coming months as well. During the three days of Lakshmi, bring sweets and flowers to your altar, cook nourishing foods for your Self, decorate and adorn your Self. For the final portion of Navaratri, dedicated to Saraswati, music, art and poetry can be a good way to focus your energy, efforts and intentions. Use this nine days for treating your Self like the goddess that you are and share your abundance with others. May we each remember our abundant true nature, our immense creative life giving energy! The nine day celebration of the Divine Mothers, Vasant Navaratri, begins Saturday March 21st. I'll be sharing a 10 Day Self Care Challenge during this sacred time. Multiple planetary shifts are occurring during this waning dark half. Mercury has just entered Aquarius, Venus jumps into Aries, Sun moves to Pisces and Saturn goes retrograde- all in a period of 7 days. These changes are ushering in fresh starts, preparing us for the new Moon, eclipses and Vasant Navaratri, the nine day celebration honoring the Divine Mothers. The blossoming Shakti of spring is already awakening. A lot of energy is shifting in and around us. We've had weeks of intense focus on water signs and our emotional body, but now the heat is on! Fire intensifies as the Sun moves into the water sign Pisces, conjunct Mars and Ketu. Three fire planets in a water sign! Additionally, ruling planet of Pisces, the water planet Venus, is in a fire sign, Aries, as well. The next two weeks will require us to face our challenging emotions diligently, while the gaze of Jupiter onto Pisces will assist with support and nourishment for this process. Anger will be an important theme to address during this time. What is underneath the anger?! What is your anger trying to tell you?! What are the needs below the anger, frustration and rage?! Addressing these questions will help you find a deeper relationships with passion, your fire of life. Be brave! We are each in a time of deep transformation and changes that connect to endings, release and letting go. As multiple planets touch the re-structuring heat of Ketu on their way out of Pisces (endings) and into Aries (beginnings), we will feel many areas of our being getting reformatted. The portal between Pisces and Aries opens up once Venus starts the procession from the end of the zodiac into the beginning. Mars will follow suit later this month, then Mercury and Sun in April. This gandanta (gap) is particularly challenging, signifying deep inner change while ushering in insights and support from higher realms. Saturn begins his six month retrograde motion on March 14th. This is an event of re-visiting our structures, support systems- both internally and externally. The returning process is happening on an emotional body level which will demand our complete attention- especially as Jupiter continues to transit through the heart-centered emotional water sign of Cancer. The inner work that we commit to at this time will be lasting, deeply rooted change. This will bring transformation on the physical and emotional body levels. Read more about Saturn's transit through Scorpio and how he is impacting each sign. Timing is everything. Make a fresh start and take powerful action steps aligned with Nature. Are you working with her cycles or against them? Use my 2015 Moon Wisdom Calendar to help you align your actions, intentions and goals with the cosmos. My special price + bonuses ends, Wednesday the 11th. Get the details. *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: As Sun dips into Pisces and your 12th house, it marks a month of introspection, a need for turning inward, deeper inquiry and self exploration. Ketu and Mars here intensify this for you, demanding your attention and intention on relationships, loss, letting go and endings. Saturn is asking you to return to these themes as well, to cultivate depth in your emotional body. Creativity and desire surges with Venus in your first house. Attend to your inner work first and foremost even with passions high. Taurus: With Sun transiting your 12th house now, it's a good time to be resting and rejuvenating, hitting the re-set button and taking time for yourself. Simultaneously passions are high, sexuality and sensuality are pulsing and relationship desires intensify. Get clear on what you want, while putting your needs first. Career gains will come with some restructuring, especially of the ego. Work with the emotions that surface and use this as an opportunity for deep transformation. Gemini: Everything about how you offer your self to the world and what you offer is getting restructured. It's not coming without heat and pressure, but that's the point. Unless we are backed into a corner and intensity builds, we likely don't make crucial life changes. You are at one of those life-altering junction points. There's no turning back and only gains to be had. Be bold and go for gold. Cancer: With Mercury transiting Aquarius, your 8th house, it's a perfect time to be meditating and transforming the mental body. Diligently face your fears and address the issues holding your back from shining. As Sun shifts into your 9th house, it's time to get brave about sharing your self in new ways, bolder ways. Your ego is getting some restructuring in the process and it's long overdue. It's time to look courageously at what is truly holding you back. Get the ball rolling now and prepare for exalted Sun in your 10th house of career up next! Leo: Your ruling planet, Sun, is hiding out in your 8th house right now, conjunct Mars and Ketu. Major restructuring of your sense of self, ego, and abilities are shifting. This is powerful work coming from the inside out, though challenging. Slide into the release, the letting go process and soften the metamorphosis coming from within. Rely on your creativity to be your greatest teacher right now. Let relationships show you the way. Virgo: You have been working with themes of endings and release for months now. Relationships have been getting re-structured so you can start deepening your inner awareness and building the life you truly want and need. You are still in a healing phase and processing a lot of the changes happening to you right now. This is vital digestion and assimilation. Work with the anger diligently right now. How much fire are you spitting at others? How much of that fire would be put to better use as a creative artistic act? Use the heat to make a diamond. Libra: The heat is on in your 6th house of healing. You're getting a chance right now to shift and heal some of your relationships should you take on the challenge. Your willingness to surrender to the healing process will help you stay out of the fire pit and lessen any burns. Letting go, releasing and removing the old, outworn and unhealthy parts of yourself are vital. Let go and release others who are no longer serving or nourishing your path. As Saturn retrogrades through your 2nd house, the theme of getting the nourishment you need will intensify. Work with receiving. Scorpio: Your sense of power (personal and otherwise) is being tested, dismantled and restructured. How you give and receive nourishment and finding ways to heal past relationship challenges, is part of this power dynamic. You are learning a lot about your heart, emotional body and feelings right now. Continue to courageously address your inner wounding and what keeps you from your wholeness, connection, creativity and resiliency. Simultaneously, use your immense creativity as the healing balm. Sagittarius: The emotional body and home environment are giving you heart burn. You are processing old losses, grief and letting go right now. Lick your wounds and tend to the heat that is building. Treat this fire tenderly as it is your life light. You may only feel the darkness and shadow of it now, but when you are ready, the cracks forming in your being will slowly give way to increased light and awareness. When you are walking through fire, remember to just keep walking. Capricorn: Power, momentum and creativity are high right now. Your hands and feet are alive with the creation process and wish to share, offer and connect. Though Rahu is marana in your 9th house, pushing you to face your shadows around the masculine, the father and gurus, you are learning a lot about yourself in the process. The critic is an important part of your inner exploration right now. Your inner critic is keeping you from your deepest nourishment. It's time to befriend this part of yourself, or at the least, invite it to tea! Aquarius: Re-tracing your steps will be a helpful way for you to find new resources for your life offerings. What have you missed previously? What have you cast aside as insignificant or unworthy? Use both challenges and weaknesses as resource materials. The truth is, there is a lot of creativity flowing through you right now. Capture the imagination and shape these ideas into tangible form, into products, clear offerings, that you can share with others. There is new nourishment to be had if you re-structure how you receive it. Pisces: Yet another intense wave of endings, release and loss are moving through you. Getting cracked wide open is never fun, nor enjoyable. However, the results are usually worth the effort in the long run. Where we are cracked and broken open is where the light can come in. Ketu continues to work his magic on your re-structuring process, from the head down to your toes. Let your feet be your guide right now and use them to sense your connection, your source, your grounding. My Jyotish Basics Classes have begun! This Week's Intention: Touch the earth with your feet but let your heart fling wide open to the winds of change. Moon is waning (dark half). The week begins with Moon in the 4th tithi and the sign Libra. It passes through Scorpio (its sign of debilitation), Sagittarius, and into Capricorn this week. There is much change happening with the planets in a seven day period!! Mercury has just entered Aquarius, Venus jumps into Aries, Sun moves to Pisces and Saturn goes retrograde. Mercury enters Aquarius on Sunday the 8th, which starts the week off with a vulnerable Mercury. Don't force mental activities, writing or commerce, until it strengthens in degrees on Tuesday. Mercury moves into Aquarius on Sunday at 17:44 PST until March 27th, and is conjunct Sun until March 14th. With Mercury now out of the gaze of Rahu and Saturn, we may begin to feel more clarity in mind, focus and intention. Get organized, focused and clear. Set goals, take action and achieve the aim. This will require your ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit, but it will be worth it. Monday sweeps in with winds of change as Moon transits Swati nakshatra, ruled by the wind god, Vayu. We may feel a sense of strength and inner power arise, with the courage to make change and take action. Start asking for what you want! We may feel a sense of being divided on Tuesday as we confront two different paths before us. Do you take the road less traveled or the one that is well worn? The only way to know for certain which is the right one is to go with what feels the most nourishing and supportive. The answer will come from your heart, your ability to feel what deeply nourishes you, not from the mind. As the Moon enters Scorpio early morning on Wednesday, our physical and emotional sensitivities are aroused. Moon is debilitated in Scorpio and conjuncts Saturn here, a recipe for deep intuitive insights resourced from the somatic wisdom of the body. Or this combination can bring a sensation of instability and fragility. The most important task at hand for the next two days is to get embodied. Stay connected to your physical body and breath, and to physical sensation as much as possible. Venus moves to the edge of Pisces on Wednesday and is simultaneously strengthened and weakened by this placement. Our relationship with endings, loss and release is deepening as a result of so much activity in Pisces- which is intimately connected to themes with the emotional body and transformation. As Ketu, Mars and exalted Venus have been conjunct here for several weeks we've had an opportunity to work with restructuring our relationship to money, relationships and creativity in a very intensified way. Venus crosses the tricky gandanta (gap) between Pisces (endings and water) and jumps into Aries (beginnings and fire) early morning Thursday the 12th at 05:18 am PST. This jump starts new creative beginnings for relationships, money and artistry and offers a certain passionate, dynamic spirit in the process. Use this zest to create something new in your life, just don't get burned out in the process! Timing is everything. Make a fresh start and take powerful action steps aligned with Nature. Are you working with her cycles or against them? Use my 2015 Moon Wisdom Calendar to help you align your actions, intentions and goals with the cosmos. My special price + bonuses ends tonight, Wednesday the 11th. Get the details. Thursday requires us to not get lost in precision or mental body story telling. Stay one-pointed and goal focused, but not at the loss of expanding your awareness, possibility and creative imagination. The challenge will be to stay open minded, awake, hopeful. Keep the faith alive. As Sun moves to the edge of Aquarius on Friday, we may feel mentally and physically drained, fried and overwhelmed. Mercury shifts into Satabisha nakshatra today bringing an extra critical edge to the mind over the next ten days. How can you build a deeper, more compassionate relationship with your inner critic? Moon shifts into Sagittarius midday and an uprooting process begins. We must start digging below the surface, turning up the ground and preparing the soil for new seeds. Moon is moving through Mula nakshatra, Nirrti's domain, which insures this will be a disheveled, chaotic process. Stay grounded as much as possible and touch the earth for support. Early morning Saturday, Saturn begins his six month retrograde motion. The next big cosmic shift of the week comes late Saturday as Sun moves into Pisces at 16:24 PST. We've had weeks of intense focus on water signs and our emotional body, but now the heat is on! Fire intensifies as the Sun moves into the water sign Pisces, conjunct Mars and Ketu here. A triple fire combination in a water sign! And the water planet Venus is also in a fire sign, Aries, as well. The next two weeks will require us to face our challenging emotions diligently, yet the gaze of Jupiter onto Pisces will assist with support and nourishment for this process. Anger will be an important theme to address during this time. What is underneath the anger?! What is your anger trying to tell you?! What are the needs below the anger, frustration and rage?! Addressing your anger will help you find a deeper relationships with passion, your fire of life. Be brave! Saturday, seek fluidity as much as possible. Feel your way towards change. What are your needs and what nourishes you? Break away from what isn't working and search for what does. Use Sunday to find your footing. Root, ground and sense through your feet. We may feel a bit wobbly as Sun has newly entered Pisces (the sign connected to feet) But the Vishva Devas are here to offer their support if you'll let them in. Moon moves to Capricorn late Sunday and themes of support, stability, grounding and structure predominate. Don't force it. Instead see if you can soften towards the support. It's here, be willing to receive. Monday helps us expand and become aware of new resources. Stay awake and open to receive what arrives. My Jyotish Basics Classes have begun! Don't miss out on these transformational and healing classes. Sign up for details. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. |
