The May new Moon occurs on the 4th at 16:46 MT while Moon is transiting Aries and Bharani nakshatra. This is a cycle of rebirthing, releasing and powerful transformation. There may be laboring in the process of this birthing, but trust that something new is emerging. It will be worth your effort. Something is dying within you. Let it go and create space for the new. This May new Moon in Aries signals a fresh start, a new beginning and a process of opening to a brand new cycle. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. Exalted Sun is here until mid month, while Mercury has just entered a new annual cycle as well. As the Moon empties, releases and darkens, it is signaling the shift towards a new phase of life- physically, mentally and emotionally. Bharani nakshatra is ruled by Yama, lord of death and king of dharma. He determines your karmas at the time of death and encourages self control, restraint and right action. Through alignment with dharma, Yama supports your afterlife and rebirth process. Those who go against Yama will receive the wrath of Natural Law. He judges, rules and enforces the Laws of Nature with unwavering fierceness. Only dharma can win over Yama. His judgement is based on your actions and service in this life. In the waxing cycle to come, you will be asked to let something die. Yama will ask you to rebirth, transform and start anew. You will not be able to do this without letting something go. This process of release will be more painful if you resist or refuse the release taking place. Accept the transformation and allow the changes to arrive. This is a powerful time to declare your powerful intentions for your dharmic path and purpose. Upgrade your actions, choices and behaviors in order to get new, more life supporting results. Clear old, mental programing and thought patterns keeping you stuck in lack and fear. The current transits are supporting an ego-identity shift and the release of very old, ancient structures. Your ability to achieve a positive shift will be determined by your willingness to show up and do the necessary work. Yama's offerings take effort, clarity, focus and a fierce focus on one's service to humanity. Mercury moves out of debilitation and through the tricky gandanta of Ashwini nakshatra just before the New Moon on May 4th. Mercury has been debilitated in Pisces on and off since the end of February. This has caused immense challenges with finances, creativity, imagination, communication and the mental body. If you are under the influence of Mercury, this cycle has likely been particularly challenging. Mercury moves to Aries on May 3rd, completing a year long transit around the zodiac. As this cycle closes, he crosses the threshold between Pisces (water) and Aries (fire), going through intense purification in the process. A cycle has closed. Endings and release are taking place. Make this finale conscious. There is a new beginning taking place with all things Mercury so make it intentional. What needs to be released, closed, grieved? What parts of the mind need your attention in order to start anew? Clean up the mental body and repattern old stories. Your mind and it's outdated programming need an upgrade. And so does your money. As Mercury enters Aries, he joins exalted Sun here for two weeks until Sun moves to Taurus. This combination can bring immense clarity, focus and determination. Set goals and achieve them. Clarify your direction, take action steps that align you with your passions and purpose. Don't miss this energy, but avoid burnout as well. The most auspicious day of the year is May 7th, Akshaya Tritiya. Both Sun and Moon will be exalted. It is said that only positive outcomes can emerge on this day, that there can be no harm. All actions will be fruitful and yield positive results. Luck, success and powerful results occur when you align with the strength of this day. Plan accordingly. This is a powerful day to take action steps towards your biggest desires. Nature will be ready to support you! Stay aligned with the transits and your dharmic path. Join my Embodied Dharma FB Group! April begins with a poignant new Moon that also opens the nine day and night celebration of the Divine Feminine, Navaratri. This is an important time in the Vedic Calendar that acknowledges the awakening taking place in Nature. Shakti is increasing and the power of the Divine Mothers is enlivening. It is a turning point, a transition- ripe with potential and possibility. Use this time wisely to start creating, growing, and stretching yourself in new ways. The Divine Feminine is with you! The new Moon occurs early on Friday, April 5th at 02:51 am MT while Moon is transiting Pisces and Revati nakshatra. Moon is at the edge of the zodiac, asking you to find closure, release and create a finale with the last cycle. Attending to grief, loss and hidden emotions will be important at this time. Be willing to look at your shadow and lift the stones of illusion keeping you stuck in the darkenss. Doors are closing. Are you honoring the process of letting go properly? Are you making space for the new? At the same time immense potential is available. Be intentional with what you are creating. Revati nakshatra is the last constellation of the zodiac. Its ruling deity, Pushan, helps make travels prosperous and nourishing. He supports the path and allows receiving, abundance, and offers resources for greater support and guidance. As an Aditya, he is a provider of prosperity on the material plane of existence. He helps those that are lost find their purpose and he will redirect you towards your path. He is the shepherd that finds the lost sheep and brings them back to the herd. He protects and nourishes all paths and will help you find the hidden treasures on the journey. Honor his wisdom and acknowledge his support for your path. He especially likes to be fed easily digestible foods like porridge. Bring some to your altar and ask for his blessings during the new Moon. This new Moon is an opening- awakening the power of the Divine Feminine and the nourishment of Navaratri. As the new Moon arrives, Navaratri begins. This year spring Navaratri (for the Northern Hemisphere) begins April 5th and completes on April 13th with Ram Navami, the celebrated birth day of Lord Ram. The Navaratri celebration is an expression of what is taking place within Nature, through the Laws that govern Nature, marking an important transition within us and around us. Align with Nature and Her powerful energy of change and transformation during Navaratri. Ritualize your connections with Nature and the ancestors- in order to land more closely to your own inner wisdom, to Her wisdom. Strengthen your connection to self and Spirit. Navaratri is a poignant time in the Vedic Calendar. This ancient calendar is one that is dedicated to Nature and her cycles and rhythms, the planets, and most importantly the Moon. In the Vedic Calendar, time is connected to what Nature and the cosmos are doing as these elements are intimately related. The main Navaratri celebrations occur twice a year- in the "gap" seasons of spring and fall. These times are considered sandhi times; delicate times that feel like you are neither here, nor there. We might call it the netherworld. This time, though delicate, is considered sacred. Use this time to nurture the seeds of your creations and desires. Activate and align with your dharmic path. Take steps that move you closer to your nourishment and inner wisdom. Connect with your ancestors and Spirit in intimate ways. Think big and allow your transformation to take place. Where are you settling and resisting change? The Divine Mothers are supporting your growth and transformation process. Nature is awakening her wisdom- within you and your life. Are you allowing this change process to take place? Are you actively engaging and participating in this awakening process? Don't keep sleeping. It's time to wake up! Read More About the Sacred Celebration of Navaratri. April promises extremes as Jupiter makes his funky dance through Sagittarius. Most of April Jupiter transits Mula nakshatra, ruled by the goddess of Adharma. She is notorious for creating unnecessary chaos and uprooting. Jupiter conjuncts Saturn and Ketu in this process which causes even more extremes and even more restructuring. At the same time, we are still getting used to Ketu and Rahu in new signs. Our shadows have moved and we are seeing ourselves and others in very different ways. Read More Here Midway through the month, Sun begins a brand new cycle through the zodiac, arriving in his exaltation sign, Aries, on April 14th. Venus also exalts this month on the 15th, increasing the possibility of excess with water and indulgences. Stay on path and don't fall off. Keep goals in sight and actively move towards them. To top it all off, both Jupiter and Saturn retrograde, promising some powerful returns, stops and starts. There are highs and lows with this month and this is your reminder to stay as grounded as possible. Keep life extremely simple- even though temptations for over-indulgence and excess may be pressuring you otherwise. Gather the resources, support and guidance you need to weather the extremes. Creative Ritual During Navaratri, the veil between the Spirit world and the Material world is thin. This is a powerful time to access the wisdom of Nature and the gifts of the ancestors. Be intentional with how you use your time, energy and creativity in the coming sacred nine days and nights. Spend time with your ancestors and use ritual to support this connection. Stay close to your body, breath and inner wisdom. This is an important time to create your vision and transform it into reality. Use this sacred celebration to clear, release, purge and let go of grief, limiting beliefs, blockages and shadows that are keeping you stuck. It's time to lighten up the path and declare your purpose! Use these resources to align with your ancestors and strengthen your connection to Spirit. 1) Here are six ways to feed the ancestors and create a deeper relationship with them through ritual. 2) Use my Ancestor Podcast to deepen your relationship with the ancestors and Spirit. Every week I offer two *free* dharma coaching sessions to action takers who are ready for deep life change. Is this you?! Book Your Session: Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com Shivaratri arrives this year on March 4th just before the new Moon (Amavasya) on March 6th. This is a time of deep silence and strong potential. It is the marriage celebration of Shiva and Shakti, a symbolic union of wholeness- when the absolute unmanifest, conjoins with the pulse of life force energy. Masculine and feminine merge and create life- and the ability to manifest becomes amplified. From this place of union, we can ignite the power of being, the power of life. Transformations abound right now- inner and outer. Are you paying attention to polarities in your life? What dualities are you aware of and what is needed for their integration? This is a powerful time for meditation and reciting the Mrityunjaya Mantra: oṁ tryambakaṁ yajāmahe sugandhiṁ puṣṭi-vardhanam ǀurvārukam-iva bandhanān mṛtyormukṣīya māmṛtāt ǁ Shivaratri supports planting seeds of potential through the depth of silence. Shiva as destroyer, is at one with this awakened state of creativity. His role is to support your collapse into concentrated, focused alignment with the harmony of existence- that which is pure consciousness, deep, unaltered silence and awakening. This is where your creativity resides, your ability to manifest, create and transform- over and over again. Through the transcendence, you can easily touch this silence in its pure form. Shiva reminds us to use this silence to release, simplify and transform. From a silent and awakened state, you can plant the seeds of life more intentionally and powerfully. Use your deep inner silence for stirring your creative desires. Next, the fertility festival of Holi, will activate your silent seeds, helping them become more fully awakened with the creative wisdom of Nature. What are you creating for your powerful life? What is your vision? Let your imagination move you into being. Create life! The March new Moon takes place at 09:04 am MT while transiting Aquarius and Purvabhadra nakshatra. This is the realm of the sky ruled by Ajaikapada, a form of Shiva standing on one foot. There is a strong need for balance and integration of opposing forces in this domain. Two realms are represented- both material and spiritual. The power of Rudra and the creative strength of Vishvakarma express themselves in this nakshatra. Restraint and tapas are necessary, while simultaneously great material wealth is possible. This constellations offers a foot in both worlds and those born with this constellation often have success with both the spiritual and material realms. Balancing the impossible is in fact possible under this constellation, though great strength is required. The symbol of this nakshatra is a burning funeral cot. Endings and release are taking place. Purification and death support deeper understandings of life and bring greater awareness to the wholeness of existence. In this waxing cycle, your strength will be required in order to balance opposing forces, integrate polarities, and harmonize inner conflicts. Dark and light require your equal attention. Are you holding both- shadow and light- equally? Material progress is possible in the days ahead, but attend to spiritual matters for deeper purpose. Burn away the excess and simplify all areas of your life. It's time to purify and release what has been feeling heavy and burdensome. It takes much less energy to be in right relationship with all parts of ourselves- rather than resist and avoid. Hold both your darkness and your light, honor all of your being. This is why your shadow is so important. As we enter this new lunar cycle, multiple changes are taking place in the cosmos. Mercury is debilitated in Pisces and goes retrograde on the 5th. Rahu and Ketu change signs for the next 1.5 years on March 7th, causing upheaval, change and new levels of resistance. The relationship with our karma is shifting and will bring vastly different results in the months ahead. Jupiter is at the edge of Scorpio right now, preparing for his unusual dance into Sagittarius before he retrogrades until this fall. Listen to my FB Live Class for more about the life changing transit of Rahu and Ketu. We are straddling the edge of major change and life may feel uncertain, vulnerable and tumultuous in the days ahead. Keep life as simple as possible and prune away any excess. Clean your life up and stop over-doing, over-giving, and over-being. Challenges will surface where we are being unconscious. Less is more. Creative Ritual Use this Creative Ritual for supporting integrating and harmonizing your polarities: 1) Identify the polarities at play within you and your life. Make two distinct lists. What are the challenges that you face right now? What is not working right now in your life? What are the resources in your life right now? What is working well for you right now? Name each category and see if you can identify the theme of each polarity that is arriving. 2) Create two images. One image is your challenge image. The other image is your resource image. Spend 10-20 minutes creating each image. Use craypas, paints, pens, collage or any medium that speaks to you. Title each image separately. Then ask each image to give you their message. If this image could speak, what would it say to you? 3) Harvest from each image. Answer these questions for each image separately. I am, I want, I need I sense, I feel, I Imagine, I express What have you harvested from this process? What does each part of you say? What does each part of you need? Deepen this process by using my Tapping Meditation for integrating polarities I help sensitive women become the leaders of their lives.

Email me to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The February New Moon arrives on the 4th at 14:04 MT, while transiting Capricorn and Shravana nakshatra, a constellation ruled by Lord Vishnu. Waning Moon and new Moon energy is slower, inward and dark. We may notice that in this part of the Moon cycle, our emotional body feels the darkness more acutely. This is the part of the monthly cycle when we should attend to our grief, release, and clearing away of excess. Amavasya, or the new Moon, sparks potential, possibility and creativity. What possibilities are alive within you? What darkness needs to be confronted? Four planets collide in Capricorn at the time of the New Moon- Moon, Sun, Mercury and Ketu. All are getting the restructuring impact of moksha planet Ketu. Mind, body, soul, and emotions are in a change process. Vulnerability is arriving simultaneously. Slow down and attend to the necessary actions and choices that can support this change. Vishnu is the god of dharma- that which sustains and maintains order in the universe. The constellation of Shravana is his domain, which allows the passing of knowledge and wisdom- usually through sound. In ancient Vedic times, dharma was passed through oral tradition until eventually it became written word. The new Moon and waxing cycle ahead supports the power and strength of your dharmic path. Are you aligning with your dharma through your choices and actions? Are you moving closer to your passions and purpose, or further away? Who will listen? I proclaim with uplifted arms, Practice of Dharma leads to Artha (material prosperity) Kama (pleasure of life) and Moksha (liberation from karma), Do not be deaf to my cries! - Vyasa at the conclusion of the Mahabharata In the days following the new Moon, Mars crosses the gandanta between Pisces and Aries, beginning a new cycle for Mars on February 5th. Those under the influence of Mars (ruling planet, current dasha cycle, transiting influential houses) will especially feel the impact of a fresh start and the beginning of a new two year cycle ahead. Mars rules Aries and does well with its tenacity and focus on action until March 22nd. Mercury will shift into Aquarius on February 6th, moving mind into more entrepreneurial and innovative ideas and projects. Think outside the box in the coming days and clarify your steps. We are at the edge of a major transit. Rahu and Ketu shift signs on March 7th, beginning a new 1.5 year transit for the karma nodes. Rahu moves to Gemini and Ketu moves to Sagittarius, where both will be exalted in the months ahead. Many are feeling the shift of the shadow nodes already. Karma is changing, forcing us to look at our shadows and liberation in new ways. I'll be sharing more about this transit in an upcoming article. For now, note that Rahu will be pulling you towards the themes of Gemini, whereas Ketu will be supporting release with all things Sagittarius, while in conjunction with Saturn. Look to the houses in your jyotish chart where Gemini and Sagittarius reside in order to identify insights and themes for this transformational cycle. These changes are already being felt. To get more insight for this new Moon and waxing cycle upon us, I pulled a card from my Vedic Tarot deck. The reminder comes from the suit of Arrows- which correlates to the element of air and the mental body. The Arrows depict powerful tales from the Mahabharata, an epic battle between two branches of one family. The Mahabharata reminds us that: "What is found here- is everywhere; What is not here- is found nowhere." - Veda Vyasa (around 1700 BCE) The Ace of Arrows begins the tale of Bheeshma, who is a strong thread throughout the Mahabharata. He possesses immense strength, courage and a heroic destiny. However, karma has a different outcome for him altogether. With the Ace of Arrows, immense power is available to us, but very few know how to manage it or use it fully. As a result, it gets misused, squandered, and can even destroy you. Spiritual growth is granted here, however, the changes and transformation involved can be traumatic and challenging. A reminder to gather your strength and courage, even in troubled and overwhelming times. Setbacks can be overcome, success and triumph achieved, however cutting away, releasing and being decisive in purging, will be required. Change will be inevitable as a certain phase of your life is officially concluding. This is the end of illusions and your old behaviors and immaturity will not be allowed moving forward. Be mindful that karma is being released in the cycle to come and it may be painful. Where are you resisting inevitable changes and losses? What needs to be released and let go of once and for all? What do you need to give up, to not allow in your life anymore? What intelligence do you need to call upon to move forward with more strength, courage and clarity? Creative RitualWhat would it look like to be the leader of your life? What needs to change? What feels in alignment already? PART #1 1) If I could do anything I wanted without the fear of failure what would it be? 2) What is stopping me right now from taking the first step? 3) How can I overcome what is stopping me? PART #2 Where do you want to be six months from now?! Step 1: Write down your vision. Journal it into your full awareness. Step 2: Create your vision. Draw, paint or collage your vision into form. Give it a title. Step 3: Harvest your vision. If your image could speak to you, what would it say?! Step 4: Make your vision a reality. What steps need to take place for your vision to become a reality six months from now?! What action step can you take today?! I help sensitive women become the leaders of their lives. Every week I offer two free Dharma Coaching sessions to sensitive, gifted women who are ready for life change. Is this you? Email me to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The January new Moon comes with a partial solar eclipse, opening a two week eclipse portal that will end on January 20th with a full lunar eclipse. This Sagittarius new Moon mirrors and magnifies the challenges taking place in this spiritual fire sign right now. Currently Sun and Mercury are in tight conjunction with the restrictive and oppressive Saturn energy- all transiting Sagittarius. Physical, spiritual and mental bodies are feeling the pressure and stress- causing fear, anxiety and forcing simplicity and pruning away of excess. As Moon transits Sagittarius and marks the emptying of the past cycle, she amplifies the intensity happening in the fiery, focused sign of Sagittarius which is often connected with dharmic pursuits. Are you on your dharmic path or off? Where are you feeling the pressure in your life? A reminder that wherever Saturn is putting pressure on you, he is asking for simplicity and alignment with natural cycles and rhythms. Where do you need to make some adjustments? There is no denying that this new year begins with layers of challenging planetary dynamics and the eclipse portal adds to the intensity. Eclipses always come in pairs. In between eclipses is a two week period of shadow work and challenges with our natal karma. This is a time period to be alert and aware of what challenges are surfacing and attend to release, transformation and liberation. Eclipses, and the cycle between eclipses, is not a time to start new projects or be reckless in actions and choices. These are spiritual time periods meant to support moksha and awakening- however often through intensity, upheaval and change. Individual themes for the eclipse cycle ahead can be seen from Sagittarius in your natal chart. Notice the house and themes that are offered from this part of your chart. These themes will be magnified and intensify as we move through the shadow work of this eclipse cycle. This new Moon occurs on the 5th at 18:27 MT with a partial solar eclipse beginning at 16:34 MT. The eclipse will end at 20:48 MT, while the maximum eclipse will be at 18:41 MT. This eclipse will not be visible for North America, only for northeast Asia. From a Vedic perspective, it is not advised to be outside during an eclipse or to look directly at the eclipse. Wear a head covering if you have to be outside so you don't absorb the shadow. Ideally, this is a time for spiritual practices such as meditation, chanting and fasting. Set intentions and honor the sensitivity of this time. It is also widely recognized that during and between eclipses, starting new endeavors will not bring positive results. No new projects, relationships or activities should start in the eclipse portal. Notice what needs are arriving, then take action after the eclipse portal closes. Best to lay low, attend to spiritual pursuits, get extra rest and work with your inner shadow very consciously during this cycle. In the waxing cycle ahead, focus on your path and purpose. Sagittarius loves a one-pointed focus that has value, insight, spiritual purpose and powerful intentions for the greater good. Are you in alignment with your higher purpose or playing small and feeling insignificant? It's time to step up and play bigger- especially on the level of spirit. Align, awaken and co-create with nature, the ancestors and the spiritual realms. Allow spiritual wisdom and insights to influence you. Material pursuits and ego driven actions won't be supported right now. If you're having challenges and progress feels slow, it's time to make some adjustments. Spiritual and dharmic endeavors will be supported at this time but materialistic desires won't be. New Moon in PurvaAshada nakshatra welcomes transformation in the body and allows the inner waters to purify, release and clarify. Movement, yoga, dance, creativity and pleasurable activities will allow the emotional body to move from stagnation to fluidity. Are you supporting your emotional body intelligence or bypassing it? Emotions are connected to your inner waters. This is also your connection to creativity, nourishment, life force energy and wealth on all levels of life. Apas is the ruling deity of the constellation PurvaAshada. As the goddess of water, she supports purification on every level of life- either through gentleness or force. Water can be soft, misty rain, or forceful waves and stormy hurricanes. She can be immense flooding or a trickling stream. Without water, however, there is no life. Consider what needs purification and cleansing in your life. Where are you feeling the stagnation of your inner waters? How can you support the water of life to flow more freely in your body and life? Wondering what to expect in 2019? Read my new year horoscopes! Creative RitualThis Creative Ritual will also help you work directly with your challenges- emotion or otherwise. Take your challenge into a creative process and see what develops! Step #1 Movement Exploration. What emotion are you feeling? Is it anger, depression, frustration, chaos, uncertainty? Start dancing this emotion. What does it feel like in your body? Do the "dance of anger" for example. What emerges as you do your anger dance?! Remember to let sounds out! Move and develop your dance for at least minutes. When you feel a sense of closure, ask yourself these questions: I sense, I feel, I imagine. Step #2 Create an image of your emotion. What does it feel like? Put it on paper using colors, textures and shapes. Create an image that expresses your experience with this emotion and whatever emerged in your dance. Spend at least 5 to 20 minutes creating this image. I suggest using paints or craypas and a large piece of paper. Title your image. In your journal or on the back of the drawing answer this question: If your image could speak what would it say? Step #3 Harvesting. Answer these baseline statements and questions in your journal once you have completed the previous steps. I am___ I want___ I need___ What am I opening to? What am I closing to? Recycle this process whenever strong emotions emerge. Remember they arrive to give you important messages. Listen carefully and honor them with deeper listening. What is the emotion telling you? What do you need for deeper nourishment in your life? Listen to my Podcast "How to Befriend Your Emotional Body" Are You A Sensitive Soul?! Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The December new Moon arrives just as Thursday, the 7th begins. At 00:21 MT, the new Moon in Scorpio and Jyestha nakshatra occurs, inviting in a new cycle of depth, awareness and shadow work. Mercury goes direct just before the new Moon, supporting forward momentum with the mind, communications, commerce and imagination. Moon joins Jupiter, Mercury and Sun in Scorpio at the time of emptiness. The emphasis is on release, diving deeply within the inner terrain and harvesting depth and insights in the coming days and weeks. The mental and emotional bodes are a particularly important focus in the cycle ahead- as is increasing life force energy. Themes of dharma- alignment with your divine purpose- is sparked in the weeks ahead. Pay attention to resources and insights that arrive to support your clarity and vision. Are you stepping into your power, or away from it? Are you willing to move closer to your depths or resisting what lies below the surface? As the Moon empties and is considered Amavasya (the last phase of the dark half), it travels through the portion of the sky ruled by Indra. Jyestha is a constellation connected to the powerful king of the gods. As the god of the gods, Indra is supremely aligned with dharma and right action. He expresses powerful leadership capabilities and the ability to wield his weapon of choice, the thunderbolt. The king of the body is prana, or life force energy. Without prana, there is no life. All of the senses can be gathered, unified and aligned through prana. From a Vedic perspective, negative though patterns are known as the asuras (demons) within, while the devas (gods) are considered positive thoughts within the body. Through skillful use of prana, integration, alignment, and balance can occur with the positive and negative qualities within. Essentially, light and dark forces can be unified, supporting wholeness, or yoga. The coming cycle requires skillfulness with your mind, as well as attention to use of your life force energy. Acknowledging your relationship with inner power is paramount. What is your relationship with your inner power, your life force energy? Are you in right relationship with your power and purpose? Or are you misusing your power and letting it dwindle? Dharma is right action, alignment with your highest purpose, the soul's reason for incarnation. Each one of us has a entirely unique journey and a completely different dharmic journey. Being in right relationship with your dharmic path requires a willingness to heal, transform and grow, while leaning into your shadows and challenges along the way. There is no higher purpose than dharma, as it supports your awakening and the awakening of others simultaneously. These are the signs that you are not aligned with your Dharma. Listen to my FB Live class about Adharma. The cycle ahead is an invitation to take a deep dive into your subconscious and unconscious terrain. Deepen your breaths. Honor your darkness and your light. Hold both your grief and your joy. As you move closer to your depths, invite your shadows and the parts of yourself that you may be resistant to seeing your wholeness. Scorpio requires depth and going beyond the surface. Are you willing to face your own darkness, so you can see the light? This new Moon also coincides with the powerful day of light, Diwali, in the Vedic calendar. Diwali (or Deepavali) is a very significant five day festival in the Vedic tradition. The most significant day of the Diwali festivities is on the new Moon. This five day celebration honors light, Lakshmi, and the divine resources available to us. Lakshmi is the giver of health, vitality, nourishment and wealth. The festival of light spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Three of the most important days are dedicated to Dhanvantari, Hanuman and of course the new moon being the most important of all, which is solely dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi. Read more about Diwali and why this festival of lights is so important. This Libra new Moon calls for integration, balance and harmony. Ruling planet of Libra, Venus, is currently retrograde in its own sign, Libra as well. Retrograde Venus is causing relationships to be re-evaluated, re-assessed and returned to. Re-looking at all things Venus is vital for more balance in relationships, finances, comforts, and overall nourishment. This is an important opportunity to tip the scales in a different direction and find a more harmonious way with opposing forces. What needs are not being met? Where do you need to find more balance with your boundaries? Do your relationships feel imbalanced? Read more about the extended transit of Venus in Libra. The coming cycle instigates the need for balance, harmony and integration in new, more provocative ways. With new Moon in Vishaka nakshatra, the waxing cycle promotes gathering increased support and resources in order to invite in more balance into your life. Vishaka expresses duality, as it is ruled by two gods- Indra and Agni. Both rely on each other for support, growth, strength and purpose. Indra is the king of the gods, yet Agni is the priest. Neither can thrive without the wisdom and resources of the other. This is a reminder that duality must find its common ground, its middle way. Neither polarity exists alone, each must unify and allow for coexisting. Both Libra and Vishaka are powerful reminders of what is required in harmonious relationship and the ease of conflict. Release the binaries and find the common ground. Activate the process of relating and connecting. Both sides must reach toward the other in order for connection, communication and co-creation. Vishaka is an important reminder that no one can survive without help, support and guidance from a team and a community. What conflicts are surfacing right now in yourself and in your relationships? How can you find more balance with your inner conflicts? What would balance and harmony feel like in your life and relationships? Where are you noticing the imbalances in your life? Can you find a gentler, more harmonious way? This is a powerful time of emptying, releasing and clean up- especially for health, relationships and finances. Seek to re-balance your needs and priorities. Clarify boundaries and expectations. Plug the leaks and strengthen your ability to receive the nourishment you need. Creative Ritual What does empowerment feel like? How do you feel this energy in your body? Use my Tapping Meditation below to support an increase in your power. Then use this awareness to create an image and identify your needs. Take this surge of energy and channel it into powerful action steps! Once you create your image of power, share it with us in the Embodied Moon FB group! Step #1 How do you know if you are disempowered, disconnected from your inner source? When your breath is short, body is tight and mind is running the show, you are likely disconnected from your inner wisdom and power. This may present itself through emotional body reactions, mental stories that seem to be on repeat in your head, and physical body responses that constrict you, leaving you closed off to possibility, options, new choices. Read More and Listen to my Tapping Meditation for Empowerment Step #2 Create an image of what it feels like to be empowered, connected and feeling your inner strength. What colors, textures and images arrive? Using craypas, paints or pencils, create an image of your power. Create an image that expresses this feeling using colors, textures and shapes. Allow 20 minutes at minimum for this nourishment image. Title your image. Step #3 Use your image to inspire a movement exploration. Let your body move in response to your image with the intention of "moving with your feelings". What feelings emerge for you during your dance? What awareness? Allow 5 to 10 minutes for this movement exploration. I encourage you to extend this time frame as you recycle this process. Step #4 Harvesting. In your journal answer these questions: I am, I want, I need, I sense, I feel, I imagine, I express Where do I feel support in my life? Where do I need more support? I call myself the Dharma Midwife.

Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The October New Moon arrives late in the day on Monday the 8th, just as the two week Vedic celebration of Pitru Paksha ends. This celebration of the ancestors awakens and supports our connection with Spirit, helping us align with our ancestors, their wisdom and gifts. As Pitru Paksha closes and the New Moon passes, the most powerful ten days of the Vedic year begins. Maha Navaratri starts on October 9th and closes on the 18th with Vijaya Dashami, the celebration of Durga's victory over the demon Mahishasura. This special nine days supports transformation, healing and release. Pay close attention to needs surfacing and be intentional with your healing process. Monday's new Moon arrives at 21:47 MT while in sidereal Virgo and Hasta Nakshatra. Virgo represents the sixth house of the zodiac, which has to do with conflict, healing and debts. It can also bring support, alliances and companionship through animals, as well as overcoming enemies. Virgo is precise, meticulous and often very critical. Ruled by Mercury, Virgo tends to stay in the mental body and needs reminders to sense and feel in a more embodied way. This new Moon will require us to focus on healing and awakening as Hasta nakshatra brings the dawning, the light. In the days ahead, stay out of the mind and get into the body. Speak, communicate and express. Find your words and let them awaken you and others. Hasta nakshatra is ruled by the deity Savitr, the god of dawn. The sliver of light that arrives on the eastern horizon just before sunrise is his domain. He offers hope and vision through his illumination. This portion of the dawn is particularly potent, magical and powerful. It navigates the liminal realms, the netherworlds- neither worldly nor entirely spiritual, but both. Savitr brings the light to us in this coming cycle so get ready to wake up! His bright light brings consciousness, evolution and enlightenment. This will require a willingness to see, notice and look- even if you don't want to. Notice the spectrum of your inner landscape- emotions, thoughts and unconscious grief- as this will support your healing and transformation process. Even if you don't want to see, it will be impossible not to look. When the darkness is touched by the light, we can't help but see it. Savitr brings light and awakening whether you want it or not. Hands come alive under Hasta nakshatra. Let them be a guide, a resource and a support for your healing process. There is some magic in the hands asking you to look more closely. What are your hands saying to you? What do they need? Use Gayatri Mantra to enliven the light and wisdom of Savitr in the coming days. Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ tát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃ bhárgo devásya dhīmahi dhíyo yó naḥ pracodáyāt Mercury moves out of its favorite sign, Virgo, as of October 6th, and into Libra- joining retrograde Venus and sandhi Jupiter here. Jupiter is on his way out, now at the edge of Libra and preparing to make his year long transit through Scorpio. The combination of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter will create a need for balance and harmony on the level of mind, body and emotions. All three are desperately seeking integration and stability- and yet it may feel impossible to find. Women's issues take front and center and will be demanding focus and attention. Women get a boon with this extra long cycle of Venus in its own sign. Watch out for extremes, binaries, contradictions and confusion. Reassess and reevaluate parts of yourself and your relationships that need more of your focus. Attend to comforts, needs and nourishment. Gather your parts and pieces and seek wholeness, the middle way. Find least force and increase life force energy. The waxing cycle ahead will ask you to look more closely at your darkness. As the light shines brighter, as the dawn arrives, your shadows will be more present. Are you willing to lean closer, or will you bypass and avoid? The increased light may feel challenging, uncomfortable and even fragile. Don't avoid your trauma, let it be the resource for your deep awakening. Remember that your trauma and shadow work directly correlates to your dharmic path; there is no separation. If you are willing to acknowledge your pain and lean closer to your disconnection, you have the possibility of healing through the medicine of wholeness. The cycle ahead supports deeper awakening and will require your willingness to see even more than you have before. Don't go back to sleep. The Vedic celebration of Maha Navaratri arrives just after the new Moon. On October 9th, the powerful battle of Ma Durga and the rakshasa (demon) Mahishasura begins, ending with victory day, Vijaya Dashami, on October 19th. Durga defeats the demon, a reminder to us all that Durga always wins. This is a powerful turning point in the Vedic Calendar when the Divine Feminine awakens, enlivens, transforms and heals. It is through the powerful dance of the Divine Feminine that the seasonal shifts take place. We are embarking on the magical transformation between seen and unseen, straddling the material and spiritual realms. This is a gap, a portal, that invites in depth, awakening, awareness and powerful inner wisdom. Stay alert and awake to inner and outer changes taking place. Notice conflicts within yourself and your environment. Seek resolution and healing. The Navaratri celebration is an expression of what is taking place within Nature, through the Laws that govern Nature, marking an important transition within us and around us. Align with Nature and Her powerful energy of change and transformation during Navaratri. Ritualize your connections with Nature- in order to land more closely to your own inner wisdom, to Her wisdom. Strengthen your connection to self and Spirit. Navaratri is a poignant time in the Vedic Calendar. This ancient calendar is one that is dedicated to Nature and her cycles and rhythms, the planets, and most importantly the Moon. In the Vedic Calendar, time is connected to what Nature and the cosmos are doing, and these elements are intimately related. Navaratri occurs multiple times each year- in the "gap" seasons of spring and fall, as well as other important junction points. These times are considered sandhi times; delicate times that feel like you are neither here, nor there. We might call it the netherworld. This time, though delicate, is considered sacred- so use it wisely. Read More About Navaratri the power of this sacred time of year. Creative Ritual As grief continues to rise to the surface, individually and collectively, it's an important time to do our grief work. Use this simple process to help you harvest a message from your grief and support its movement and release. 1) Take a few deep breaths and lean closer to your body sensations. Take your time and go slowly. 2) Notice the emotional body. What are you releasing right now? What losses have you faced in this past cycle? What grief is stirring within you? If you could find this grief living in your body, where would it be? Where do you feel this grief in your body? 3) Lean closer to this grief in your body. How does it feel? What colors, textures or images do you notice? Ask it to share with you. If your grief could talk, what would it say? If your grief could share a need with you, what would it say? 4) Create an image of your grief. How does this grief feel in your body? Create an image using paint, craypas, collage or any medium that inspires you. Spend at least 20 minutes with your grief image. When it feels complete, give it a title. 5) Harvest from your grief image. If it could speak to you, what would it say? This Leo new Moon occurs at 12:02 am MT while Moon is in Purvaphalguni nakshatra. As the Moon waxes and expands in the cycle ahead, comforts, nourishment and relationships come to the forefront. Sun and Moon both transit Purvaphalguni nakshatra in Sidereal Leo at the time of the new Moon, receiving gaze from Mars. Mercury is also transiting Leo and currently in Magha nakshatra. The gaze from Mars empowers Sun, Moon and Mercury, while clarifying and strengthening desires and action steps. Leo is ruled by the Sun and notorious for bold expression. With Sun in its own sign right now, we may be feeling a surge in power, determination and strength. Put your focus into action, awaken goals and ask for what you need. The New Moon in Leo and Purvaphalguni invites increased creativity and sensuality to the cycle ahead. There is strong desire, empowerment and attention to relationships surfacing. Clear away emotional debris and make space for gains and advancements in your feeling center, the heart. As you clarify goals and intentions, make sure you are also being diligent with the action steps necessary to accomplish them. Watch for overdoing, pushing and forcing as well as imbalance with action and rest. Allow for leisure, increased pleasure, nourishment and ease but be mindful of overindulgence. Cravings are rooted in the shadow. What darkness is not being attended to with honesty and courage? Where can you let go and find more surrender? Where are you pushing and forcing, creating imbalance and incongruence? Purvaphalguni nakshatra is ruled by Bhaga, the god of pleasure, comforts and commodities. He gives excess, abundance and juiciness. Sensuality and sexuality come naturally as a result of his gifts and influence. Manifestation is enlivened with his life force energy. This constellation is like the nectar that bees flock to, expressing a spring-like quality with plenty of blossoming and fruiting. The sap is flowing, the bees are buzzing and the flowers are blooming! Can you feel it? Beauty comes alive within this portion of the sky and potential is dawning. Relationships are energized and strengthened with the influences of this constellation. Plant your seeds of desire, expand your dreams and focus on the bigger picture. Maybe it's time to ask for what you really want and need? Where are you receiving less than what you deserve? What is keeping you from rising and growing? Where are you resisting your power and greater purpose? This cycle reminds us: Don't settle for less than the best. Ask Nature to support your clarity and vision. Think bigger and be clear about your desires. Get focused and expand your reach. Use creative resources to awaken your life force energy. Make art! Dance and sing! Celebrate yourself! Meet new people, start new relationships, enliven the ones you already have. Allow more sensuality and sexuality into your life and let your life force energy flow more fully. Spend time receiving and remember your gratitude. Where do you feel abundant already? Where do you need more? Remember that getting the support you need and being able to receive, will strengthen your results. We don't succeed alone- ever! Gather who and what you need for growth. Creative Ritual Create A Life of Thriving With These Five Steps: Step #1 Write a list of all the things you are grateful for. List the people, experiences and parts of your life that truly make you feel glad to be alive. Are you grateful for your health? Your children? Your garden? Your amazing clients? Put it on the list! Step #2 As you look at your gratitude list, pause and be still. Where do you feel the sensation of gratitude in your body? Can you feel it rising up from your belly or spreading across your chest? Try to locate the sensation and clearly identify it. Use this physical body feeling as a tuning fork. Keep coming back to this sensation as a way to touch in with the feeling of thriving and nourishment. More of that please! This is what you want to create more of in your life! Step #3 Create an image of this feeling of gratitude and the sensation of nourishment it brings into your body. Use craypas, paints, collage, pen and ink or any other medium that inspires you. Use colors, textures and shapes to create your image. Take 20+ minutes to create your image then give it a title. Step #4 Move your image. Use your image to inspire a movement exploration. Let your body move in response to your nourishment image with an intention of "moving with your feelings of nourishment". What sensations emerge for you during your dance? What awareness? Allow 5 to 10 minutes for this movement exploration. Step #5 Harvest in your journal some of your key findings from this process. Answer these statements: I sense___ I feel____ I imagine____ Bonus Step: Pick a few people to share your gratitude with. The best way to amplify this feeling is to share it with others! Use post it notes for a quick thank you or get more elaborate and write out a love note to someone special. Write a sweet message of gratitude to your child or give your neighbor a friendly mailbox surprise. I call myself the Dharma Midwife. Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com After a month long eclipse cycle with back to back eclipses, we gain some closure with this third and final solar eclipse on August 11th. If you haven't already experienced some sense of finale, look for resolution and closure after multiple weeks of intense emotional upheaval and shadow coming to light. Often you will notice resolution leading up to the eclipse or shortly thereafter. Part of this eclipse cycle has provoked confronting big challenges, inner and outer changes and an emotional intensity. Expect some softening and ease arriving as the dust settles. The August new Moon occurs on the 11th at 03:58 am MT while Moon is in sidereal Cancer and Ashlesha nakshatra. Rahu is currently transiting Cancer, which inspires a certain intensity with all things Cancer. Heart, home, mother, emotional body, lungs, chest and land are receiving more focus right now. The feminine in general is front and center. Rahu is forcing the shadowed parts of the feminine to emerge more fully and discomfort with challenging emotions has intensified for many. You may have noticed that this eclipse portal has brought to light more emotional tenacity, grief and forced the feminine to be witnessed and acknowledged in new ways. Expect more of this theme during the new Moon and in the waxing cycle to come. As the new Moon cycle arrives, nourishment, money and resources ask for your attention and intention. The pull will be towards greater nourishment in the weeks ahead, encouraging a focus on being fed, supported and comforted. What are you eating- physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually? How nourished do you feel by what you are ingesting? What is working well? What is missing? Sarpa is the ruling deity of Ashlesha nakshatra. He brings an occult, mystical experience with him- which can also be deceptive and illusory. His snake energy penetrates deeply and likes to go well beyond the surface understanding of life and existence. Sarpa energy is bold, intoxicating and transformational. Transcendence and awakening are inevitable. How do you go about inciting this change? Sarpa reminds us that from darkness, comes great wisdom- if we are willing to go beyond the mundane, surface understanding. The opulence of awakening is yours when you are taking into consideration the many layers of your power and shadow. Once the Moon enters Cancer and shifts to the inside of Rahu on August 10th, we enter a two week cycle where all planets will be hemmed in, encompassed by the nodes Rahu and Ketu, similar to a Kala Sarpa Yoga. Rahu, Sun, retrograde Mercury and Moon transit Cancer. Venus is currently debilitated in Virgo while Jupiter continues through Libra. Retrograde Saturn moves through Sagittarius and retrograde Mars and Ketu transit Capricorn. Currently we have three retrograde planets to contend with and two debilitated planets (exalted Mars is currently retrograde, rendering him debilitated). Take this into consideration during this two week cycle, ending on August 24th. This is the grande finale of the month-long eclipse portal. Mars, Saturn and Mercury are asking us to retrace our steps, seek new insights and get new results. With all planets hemmed in by the nodes, this tends to intensify results, awakening deep transformation and jump start renewal. Think: shedding of ones skin. The snake energy of Sarpa allows us to shed, release, transform, grow and move beyond. The result of so much confronting and identifying of the shadow recently is culminating in deconstruction of the ego identity. In this process of release and letting go, a grief process is inevitable. How are you honoring your grief as you transform and step into the new? Use the coming two weeks to honor the letting go, the grief and heartache. Create space for what you truly want and need. Who are you becoming? How are you supporting your transformation, healing and change process? How are you resisting, sabotaging and derailing your progress, momentum and awakening? Where are you choosing to stay in the darkness? Where might you need more resources, support and guidance? As Moon moves from Cancer into Capricorn over the course of the next two weeks, he touches each of the nine planets of the zodiac. Remember that the Moon illuminates, highlights and mirrors whatever it comes into contact with. Our emotional body (the Moon) expresses to us what is emerging. This is a powerful time to lean closer to the emotional body and listen carefully. Your body wisdom will be sharing insights with you. Your emotions will carry the key insights for your deeper needs. Don't bypass or negate your emotional body wisdom- or you will miss the depth and clarity. Moon moves towards Ketu in this cycle, exiting the tail of the serpent as this unusual cycle ends. Expect a cracking open of illusion, awakening us to new possibilities and options. Look for new growth, room for the new, renewal and deeper awareness about your needs and desires. Eclipse Portal Wisdom Three eclipses take place over the span of a month, occurring back to back. The July New Moon in Gemini arrives with a Partial Solar Eclipse, marking the opening of this shadowed portal. The Full Moon in Capricorn on July 27th takes place with a full Lunar Eclipse. Usually, eclipses come in pairs, however this eclipse cycle brings a third eclipse with the new Moon in Cancer on August 11th. A partial Solar Eclipse closes the portal and will support a rich harvest with depth and insights. There is an interesting theme with this eclipse portal. The Gemini new Moon in Punarvasu Nakshatra creates an opening for deeper nourishment to be confronted. What is missing in your support team? Where are you feeling depleted or malnourished? This new Moon will provoke challenges with disconnection to rise to the surface. The desire to be whole, more balanced and unified within self and life increases. Mid eclipse cycle, the full Moon in Capricorn and Sravana nakshatra will ask you to refine and take steps towards dharma- that which sustains and supports you and your inner awareness. The deconstruction of old patterns and belief systems that are standing in your way must be allowed to crumble and release. You will feel the fullness of what does not serve you. What do you want to replace this old, outmoded way of being? What resources and behaviors can support more harmony, ease and gentleness in your life? Closing this eclipse portal will be a partial solar eclipse and a new Moon in Cancer and Ashlesha Nakshatra. If you've been hiding behind false pretenses, this will be a time of unmasking and clarifying the changes that must take place. This particular closure will force you to identify your trust issues- inner and outer. Where are you hiding behind ego and avoiding your deeper knowing? In what ways are you pretending to feel safe, without actually acknowledging your fears? You may remember that the first solar eclipse of the year on January 31st was also in Ashlesha nakshatra. What did you learn and confront in the previous eclipse cycle? This is an opportunity for you to retrace your steps and revisit any unfinished business with Sarpa, the serpent of transformation. This eclipse cycle is an opportunity to spiral up and awaken from your slumber! Step into your power by identifying and confronting your shadows, illusions and stories. There is great potential in the coming month to release the past, the undigested thoughts and stories clogging your body wisdom. As you clear and let go of these shadowed parts, there is space for moving forward in more empowered, courageous ways. First, you must be willing to awaken from your negligence, laziness and illusion. The more courage you step into, the more you will succeed! Remember that solar eclipses awaken masculine parts of ourselves and help us confront ego based iterations of self, ideologies and belief systems. There will be deconstruction and forced awareness rising to the surface. The purpose of lunar eclipses is to support the confrontation of the shadowed feminine, identifying emotional body blockages and disconnections within receptivity. Solar and lunar eclipses always come in pairs, thus supporting confrontation and release of both masculine and feminine, the ultimate polarities of existence. The result of confronting the shadow is to create more conscious awareness of our unconscious self. With more consciousness, the grip of these illusions lessens, allowing us to create new possibilities- and ultimately make vastly different choices. As we enter this eclipse portal, notice the themes and challenges you have been confronting recently. What is intensifying? What is forcing you to look? What stories, experiences and relationships are encouraging you to look more closely? Continue to dig in and lean closer. Ask for support, resources and guidance so you aren't walking alone. The partial solar eclipse occurs on August 11th at 02:02 am MT, ending at 05:30am MT. The maximum eclipse will be at 03:46am MT. This eclipse will not be visible in North America but will be visible in North/East Europe, North/West Asia, North in North America, Atlantic, Arctic. Creative Ritual 1) Using craypas, paints or pencils, create an image of your nourishment. What does nourishment feel like for you? Create an image that expresses this feeling using colors, textures and shapes. Allow 20 minutes at minimum for this nourishment image. Title your image. 2) Use your image to inspire a movement exploration. Let your body move in response to your nourishment image with an intention of "moving with your feelings of nourishment".
