The Moon swells and expands this week, asking us to respond to her increased flow. The most powerful full Moon of the year occurs late in the week and Saturn goes direct after four and half months of retrograde motion. Let out the exhale and find your release. Monday is influenced by Mercury as the Moon moves through Jyeshtha nakshatra, Indras constellation. With Moon transiting its debilitation sign, Scorpio and in Jyeshtha, extreme sensitivity and overwhelm can occur easily. The sensorial level of our being is easily impacted as well as the mental and emotional bodies. The mental body is extra sensitive right now in general- as Mercury and Sun are combust with Ketu's gaze. Frazzled and fried? What can you do to turn down the heat and defrag the system? Hint: Less is more. Remove anything unnecessary from your plate. August Jyotish Basics classes are open for enrollment. Early Bird price + special free gift is available for 48 hours only! Get the Details. Just as Tuesday begins, Moon jumps into Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra. Nirrti, the dark goddess, arrives with her upheaval and removal tactics. Mars and Jupiter give their gaze, offering some clarity and tenacity to an otherwise delicate time. Can you get focused and clear? Aim high and meet your mark. Stay out of the chaos and overwhelm by landing and grounding as much as possible in the physical body. This will take courage but try to land on your feet. Mars moves to the edge of Gemini and is sandhi (in the gap). Soften your action steps and relax the mind. Meditation is an excellent use of your time today. PurvaAshada nakshatra starts the day on Wednesday, sharing the powerful flow of Apas and her watery ways. Her strength can be a blessing or an overwhelming inundation. If you've been feeling the pressure, it's time to open the floodgates and find the release valve. This may come with emotions and tears, but let them flow and cleanse you. Mercury begins to separate from close conjunction with the Sun and our mind begins to get some relief as well. Feeling the frustration still? Mars is at the edge of Gemini, still tickling our mental body with red and reaction. What is underneath the agitation? Find the need and see what action steps need to be taken for greater ease. Today, uproot and pull up old, inner weeds. Just before midnight, Moon shifts to UttaraAshada. Registration for August Jyotish Basics classes is closing on Friday, July 31st! Don't miss out on a month of support with your personal growth, healing and transformation. Get the Details. Day of the guru, Jupiter, arrives as Moon transits UttaraAshada. As Thursday arrives, Moon moves to Capricorn mid-morning, receiving drishti (gaze) from five planets simultaneously. Sun, Mercury, Mars, Rahu and Saturn offer a recipe for overwhelm and intensity, yet the Vishvadevas offer their support through resources and aligning with our truth. Look for flashes of insights and awareness regarding your gifts and inner wisdom. Listen carefully and align with your highest knowing. Trust your inner light to guide you. Catch yourself in the emotional extremism before you go down the rabbit hole. What do you need to do in order to ground and land in your body more fully? As the waxing Moon peaks, another planetary shift occurs. Mars moves to its debilitation sign, Cancer, joining Mercury and Sun here. On July 30th at 13:14, the warrior, fire planet moves to the watery and emotive sign of Cancer and will be here until mid September. These two forces naturally oppose each other as Mars is reactive and action oriented and Cancer is connected to feelings and the emotional body. Mars is not a thinker or a feeler, he is a doer. Conflicts between thoughts, feelings and actions occur in this cycle, however there is opportunity to bring light and greater awareness to our heart wisdom. If you feel irritation and anger, it's time to dig deeper. What are the needs underneath the outbursts? What expression needs to be released, rather than repressed? How can you tend to your emotional body wisdom with greater compassion and clarity? Ask yourself "Where am I pushing too hard?" Matters with home, heart, mother, land and property feel the extra level of fire and complexity right now. Be gentle and soften your heart wherever possible. Find ways to balance your action and non-action, as there may be confusion with how to move forward in this cycle with rest and activity. For those with prominent placements or strong influences of Mars in your chart, this is somewhat of a rest cycle for you. Pushing too hard will be counterproductive. Make your heart and home the priority. Moon is in the 15th tithi (purnima) and final phase of the waxing cycle as of the morning of July 30th. However, the fullest part of the Moon is not until Friday early in the morning. Late afternoon into late evening, Moon passes through the most sacred nakshatra of all, the little known 28th nakshatra, Abhijit. The domain of Abhijit is in between UttaraAshada and Sravana nakshatra- from 6 degrees 40 to 10 degrees 53. Use this time for meditation and sharing your intentions with the universe. As Moon shifts to Sravana late in the evening a more expansive sacredness arrives. Align with your intentions and seek clarity with your path. I'll be offering a free Creative Ritual web class for Guru Purnima. Make sure you're on the list. Friday begins with a sense of auspiciousness as Moon transits Sravana nakshatra. The fullest full Moon of the Vedic calendar, called Guru Purnima, is dedicated to gurus, teachers and honoring our spiritual lineage. The exact time of the full Moon is 03:42 am Pacific Time, while Moon is in Capricorn and Sravana nakshatra. This is the second full Moon of July and a powerful time to align with deep intention, sacredness and dharma. Attend to the wisdom within, honor your teachers and lineage, while using ritual to solidify your intentions. How can you clarify your path and commit to your purpose more fully? Sravana is Vishnu's constellation and he brings an expansiveness that can be transcendental and awakening. Vishnu's purpose is to uphold dharma, which he does through sound. Open your mind and see what you find. Root through the feet and let your body wisdom help you listen. Late evening, Moon shifts into Dhanishta nakshatra and the Vasu Devas come out to shine. Saturday is the day of Saturn, but Moon moves through a Mars ruled constellation, Dhanishta. Moon shifts to Aquarius mid morning, a sign ruled by both Saturn and Rahu and gives a nod to the 11th house of gains and friendships. Moon receives gaze from Jupiter and Venus as well as Mars. Passion, anyone? There is also a certain bright and shining light shared with this nakshatra. Natives often have a very distinct glow which is a gift from the Vasu Devas. They support our ability to be seen, noticed and wealthy- through our action steps. They bring the jyoti, the light and love us to align and activate dharma. Take an action step towards your dharma today that will make the Vasu Devas proud! Let your heart wisdom and emotional body guide you. Moon shifts to Satabisha nakshatra early evening. Just before 22:00, Saturn goes direct. I'll be doing cartwheels!! What about you?! This ends over four months of slow, intensified returns that have kicked up grief, sadness, loss and fears. Let out your breath, sigh with relief, notice where you've been holding on and seek release. Structure, focus, movement and stability begin to move in a forward direction. Find a new dance, step wisely, acknowledge your path and the road you have traveled. Find a place within where you can cultivate some new joy. Read more about Saturn in Scorpio. Sunday is ruled by Rahu and Varuna as the Moon transits through Satabisha nakshatra. Moon is waning and enters the 3rd tithi today, called tritiya, a Vishnu ruled Moon phase. Satabhisha and Varuna guard Natural Law, the laws of the universe. Nothing gets past Varuna's gaze and scrutiny. There is a certain healing and sacredness with this nakshatra, as well as harshness and an intensified critic. Can you dance with the devil but find your own drum beat? Moon shifts to the first half of Bhadrapada late afternoon. Keep dancing, even if it feels impossible. Let Ajaikapada help you balance overwhelm, uncertainty and upheaval. Stomp and kick up some dust. Count your steps and work your way through Monday with PurvaBhadrapada and Lord of the Dance. *Pacific Time Zone is used for all planetary timing. New Moon Details: New Moon is Friday, June 27th at 3:08 am CDT while Moon is in Gemini and Ardra nakshatra. Ruled by Rudra and Rahu, Ardra nakshatra brings with it a certain intensity- whether through the emotions or through physical movement and change; think forcefulness. Rudra is connected to storms, storm energy, as well as prana as he is the father of the Maruts, or inner winds. Externally he manifests as a storm god; internally he manifests as the five types of Prana within the body. Harnessing the winds can be powerful for inner change or outer change. His association with anger and intense emotion is an example of his abilities with power. Anger after all is extremely powerful and is a form of passion and strength. How will you use this strength in the coming cycle? This New Moon is not the silent, soft and quiet kind. For there is immense power available to us at this time. It is quiet and inward as any empty new Moon is, yet be mindful of the power available within this silence. What are you creating? Cultivating? And inviting in at this time? What is your relationship to the inner and outer winds? For the coming waxing cycle, use meditation, pranayama and yoga to get the inner prana moving. As the Moon fills, attend to the needs of the inner winds. Emotional well being is intimately related to physical well being. Use this coming cycle to attend to your inner dynamics. Work with emotions directly and note where the challenges arrive. Are you attending to your needs? Letting the mind run the show? Bypassing the emotions? Does the body have a message for you that you have been neglecting to listen to? Listen closely for clues and your inner wisdom. I will be starting an Emotional Body series in July so stay tuned for tips and resources. Start your inner work with a three level check in for greater awareness. The coming full Moon is the most auspicious of the year! Guru Purnima happens on July 11th. This full moon will be particularly powerful as Rahu and Ketu change signs after 18 months in Libra and Ketu respectively, just hours after the fullest full Moon of the year. Following this transition Rahu and Mars will be in exact conjunction and then Venus and Sun change signs within days. This is an exciting time- poised for change and explosive energy. I will be sharing more about this in my next Horoscope post and also in my upcoming weekly Moon Mind Calendar. Planetary transit report is now included in my weekly Moon Mind Calendar. Don't miss a post, sign up for my newsletter. Need some guidance and clarity for this coming year? Schedule a session with me. *New Moon Chart Horoscopes:
*Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: A certain level of comfort and support seems to be stabilizing now. Take stock of the changes and make notes about what feels nourishing and satisfying in your life. More of this! With this new sense of support, start thinking of ways you can give back- to your Self and others. As Rahu and Ketu move, you will be doing more inner work, healing and also needing retreat time. Plant those seeds now. In this waxing Moon phase, get creative. Work with the hands, the arts, singing, heart and emotions. Relationships insist on your attention. Taurus: With Venus still in your 1st house, it might be feeling like the summer of love is happening inside and out. You are inviting in the new, but there's some hesitancy and uncertainty lingering. Clean up continues from inside out as you navigate your intuitive, gut instincts. Scour your innards and be present to the power of your words and what you ingest. This impacts your level of comfort, security and support which you are getting more clarity about right now. Boundaries anyone? It takes courage to get clear and focused on what you need and what you don't. Go there. As Rahu and Ketu shift, your courage with this heightens. Gemini: Creative curve balls and creative edge, you are dancing at your ledge. Precision, focus and certainty. Or is it uncertainty? It feels like you are being presented with the same old same old- only this time, you are noticeably different. Have you noticed? New options and opportunities are on the rise and there's some fear and anxiety that comes with it. Be clear on what you deserve and what you need to support and sustain your self; all that comforts, nourishes and supports you. Do not settle for less. The new cycle of Rahu and Ketu bring guaranteed career shifts. Are you ready for a new chapter? Cancer: You haven't quite come out of your shell yet, even with Jupiter now exalted in your 1st house, but you tend to be cautious in your action steps normally. Clean up in the heart continues as the planets push you to look at your Self with a very microscopic and critical lens. The padding is around you right now, though, through friends and your surroundings, which helps your own blows to the head and heart. Don't keep walking in the same old shoes around the same old ground with your doubting mind. It's a waste of time and energy. Cut your losses because what you're really doing right now is making space for the new adventures on the horizon and a new sense of passion. Clear and purge. Clear and purge. Leo: Creativity, flow and more stability is being presented through career. It's helpful to your heart and pocketbook, and cultivates a sense of passion within you for expansion and greatness. Your laser focus proves to be a boon right now, so use it for clarity with what you want in your life. Aim, action, fire! This clarity is coming with courage- only because you're re-working some very familiar and old pieces within you. Instead of boredom, you meet the challenges with zest. You should be proud of yourself! This vigor will lead you to new endeavors as Rahu and Ketu shift. Keep it up. Virgo: The critic may be at an all time high right now. Tell it to simmer. But better yet, invite it to tea. Ask your critic what it needs and wants from you before you send it packing. It has messages for you about comfort, nourishment and support that are vital pieces of your inner puzzle. Don't disregard this time period of revision; it can offer deep analysis. Note where the comfort and support is coming from. Friends, finances and teachers, as well as creativity and the arts, bring you many nourishing gifts. Be open to receive. Libra: Whatever has not been attended to thus far, will get microscopic attention in the next few weeks. If it rears its ugly head, it means you missed a spot. You and your relationships in general have been getting an overhaul for many months now, and the climax is near. Be very mindful of who and what you are putting your attention/intention on. Don't backslide. Attend to details with a powerful lens of excavation and learn from every last morsel you can. Once Rahu and Ketu shift, a new set of endeavors set in. Don't waste this precious time of inner change. Scorpio: Relationships and connections are proving to be valuable resources of comfort, nourishment and support right now. Be sure to give them your gratitude. New opportunities are being presented, yet it's hard to tell if they are new or just the same old offerings, repackaged. It may feel confusing, but consider this as practice- a trial run- before the big changes set in. How willing are you to jump out of your comfort zone? The bigger the leap, the bigger the potential. You're about to leap out of 18 months of ashram life, into 18 months of worldly exploration as Rahu and Ketu shift. Buckle up and get ready for take-off. Sagittarius: This is an ideal time to pay attention to your digestion, your stomach and what you are eating. Too much sweet and fat, alcohol and intoxicants may be tempting you, so be mindful of moderation and cravings. Career starts to take shape and you are meeting the right people to get your self moving forward. Let the past inform your forward momentum. If it worked before, repackage it, reuse it, and reformulate it to make it relevant for the now. Upgrade your self. There may be an edge with your relationships right now. Can you soften and support, rather than judge and criticize? Capricorn: There's so much rewind happening. Are you bored yet? It's a rare opportunity to have so much time to rework, recycle, re-walk the same old ground so many times in so many different ways. Work every angle, find missed opportunities. Basque in the glory of the "do over" you are getting to explore right now. It's not only healing for you, but helping you re-configure your career offerings. You will take this re-imagining into the next phase of Rahu/Ketu in Virgo and Pisces so think of this as precious incubation time. Aquarius: Some new balm is washing over the heart right now. Let it stabilize you and nurture you. This jump starts the theme for your upcoming year where Jupiter offers healing wisdom and growth to you from inside out. A clarity in your purpose and goals gathers momentum right now. Put it into action and share with others. You are getting a chance to re-evaluate your self and your dharma right now. Heads up! The courage this introspection requires will be essential for you as Rahu and Ketu change signs. You are in for some deep, inner work ahead so start now and invite it in. Pisces: The valves within your heart chamber are syncing with a mechanical wisdom and helping you gain clarity and precision. Great for boundary work, identifying what's working and what's not, within your life and relationships. There's a gentle courage easing its way in simultaneously, giving wisdom to you and your intuitive awareness. As you finish up loose details from the past and determine what is staying with you and what is going- for good- make a commitment to finding radical self acceptance. Put your Self first. Always. Let this be your first reminder for the next Rahu and Ketu cycle. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. Similar to exalted planets in that they are "full" and can't be "added to", a Full Moon (or Purnima) means that it is full to capacity, there's no more room for it to expand and grow; it is complete. In this way, we can interpret the Full Moon as a "New Moon" in that it marks the beginning of a new cycle of emptying itself and refilling itself (mirroring our internal process). Beginning a lunar month at the Purnima is called Suklanta and differs from starting the count from the New Moon (Amavasya) which is the point when the Moon is empty and is waiting to be filled by the Sun. Purnima is in the middle of the Lakshmi phase of the Moon cycle whereas Amavasya is the moment during the cycle where Kali and Durga meet. Clearly, the energy is quite different; mirrored in our internal experience as well. These different methods of starting the lunar calendar remind me of the saying "is your glass half empty or half full?!" When do we start our "New Moon" calendar and begin our new lunar month? When we are full and satisfied or when we are empty and needing to be nourished? It is with this question in mind that I came up with this week's Creative Engagement Activity. Read more about the importance of the Moon. Often for a New Moon or a Full Moon, I like to work with the image of a mandala. Mandalas help us to create and express fullness, to fill empty space, to work with what is. Mandalas are a container, filled, with our visions, creativity and desire- much like a metaphor for life. With this idea of "creating within a container" as well as half the image of full/empty, I invite you to draw a large shape on a piece of paper. Divide this shape in half. Cover up one of the halves with a sheet of paper while you create within the other half. The theme for this half is "being filled". When you feel complete, look at both halves. One is "full" and one is "empty". What thoughts come to you? What feelings? Write a few notes down. Then, begin on the second half. The theme for this half is "being emptied". When you feel complete, write a few notes down about this half as you look at the entire piece. Then harvest your thoughts on this process. Circle ten words that leap out at you. Form these words into a three to five line poem. (Adding extra words is ok). Extra credit for dancing (embodying) your poem at some point this week. The beginning of the week, Moon is in its last three tithis of Shukla Paksha (waxing phase) before it is full (purnima) and then begins its Krishna Paksha phase (waning) mid week. Moon transits Gemini, Cancer and into Leo this week.
Moon will be at its fullest point on 1.15 at 22:51 CST while in Cancer (Full Moon). It will have just entered Cancer and will be slightly sandhi (in the gap) in Punarvasu nakshatra. Punarvasu is ruled by Aditi, the universal mother of goodness and expansion of consciousness, as well as the planet Jupiter. In the coming weeks, expect some new assistance to be coming to you, helping with your overall expansion, fulfillment and desires for change. Aditi brings us nourishment, protection and abundance- the offerings of a kind and loving mother. For a jyotish Moon-centered approach to your day, follow my daily Moon Mind posts via Face Book. Mars makes a shift on 1.14, moving from Hasta nakshatra (ruled by Savitr, expansion of consciousness) to Chitra- ruled by Vishvakarma and the planet Mars. Vishvakarma is the "celestial architect" and brings us his divine building skills. Whereas Hasta prepares us mentally and creatively, Chitra puts the plans into action and brings visions into reality. The symbol for Chitra is a shining jewel which exemplifies the fruits of our labors being powerful and directly relates to the ornamentation this nakshatra adores. Resources come with Chitra as well as much creativity as its connected to artisans and those who manifest their visions into reality. Mars will be a prominent player in the many "planetary dances" of 2014. All the major planets will be changing signs this year (expect an article on this) while Mars moves between Virgo and Libra until September with some unusual movements- directly effecting our "action" steps. Use this time to start building your empire. Sun makes a sign change from Sagittarius into Capricorn on 1.14 at 01:19 am CST. This marks an important movement towards a more auspicious time of year (spring and a time of growth) in the Vedic calendar. This day of the Sun's movement into Capricorn is named Makar Sankranti. Interestingly, unlike the majority of Vedic celebrations which are calculated by the placement of the Moon, this celebration is calculated by the position of the Sun. Sun is connected to father, knowledge, power, the Soul and the light within. As Sun will be in transition and considered sandhi (in the gap/the in between realms) until Thursday we may notice a slow start to the week as well as some frustrations with our action steps. Thinking vs. doing might be in a tug of war. Get organized and be methodical in your approach to work and your own shining. Sun is pleasant to Capricorn, and Sun and Mercury (also in Capricorn currently) work efficiently together. Play your cards right (intention, good deeds, abiding by Natural Laws, using good character and good will) and progress will be made in the coming weeks. This is a powerful time to set intentions and goals for the 2014 in order to have a rich harvest. Perhaps the most noteworthy change of the week comes via Jupiter. His retrograde movements have been pushing him back into the belly of Gemini giving us ample opportunities to re-evaluate, re-calculate, re-communicate, re-assess- with creativity, action steps, effort, courage, mental processing and the like. He has been moving through Punarvasu nakshatra (ruled by Aditi- mother of nourishment as stated above) and then began his retrograde movement (which has kept him in Punarvasu) since 9.1 of last year. The theme for many months has been a general trend of "nourishment" and support which has provided many of us with some new underlying sense of stability and growth. This week there is a shift as retrograde Jupiter moves back into Ardra nakshatra for the next few Months. Jupiter goes direct on 3.6 but then must re-trace his steps in forward motion through Ardra until he steps once again into Punarvasu on 4.24. The next 3.5 months of Jupiter's movements through Ardra nakshatra will bring trends of expansion of a different kind. Whereas Aditi has provided a lasting type of assistance and expansion, Ardra is ruled by Rahu and Rudra energy. There is great power and momentum available with this nakshatra, however it is more worldly and destructive. The symbol is a teardrop and perspiration which points to both extreme emotion (especially anger) as well as effort. Rudra is storm energy which can be harnessed for grande movement, epic changes, travels and moves in general (think harnessing storm winds or sails used for powering ships) while the Rahu rulership of this nakshatra elicits worldly motivations, directions and desires. A powerful position for expansion in a different direction. While there is possibility for calamity, chaos and misery, there is also great potential for monetary gains, new fame and notoriety, worldly desires manifesting, and great changes to transpire- moving us forward towards goals and aspirations. Specifically we may notice cravings and shadows develop with regard to our relationships- business, friendships, romantic and how and who we relate. A note of caution is necessary as we will be dealing with shadows and the veil of illusions in general; be mindful of your intentions, motivations and purpose. Are they aligned with a higher purpose? Natural Laws? Beneficial to others as well as your Self? Greatest support and sustainability will come when our actions are aligned with the greater good. Putting some effort into our shadow Self, the illusions of life and being aware that the serpent energy will be alive and well as a learning lesson, can help put this time period into perspective. Read more about this movement of Jupiter and his transit through Gemini here. If you have been uncertain about seeking guidance and support for the coming year, I urge you to reach out and get help refining your vision for 2014. Intention is potent! It is a big year with multiple {major} planetary changes. We will experience the changes of Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu, Saturn and unusual movements of Mars all in the next eleven months. Schedule a yearly progression with me in order to make your New Year a truly transformational year. Utilize my jyoti/creative arts activities as a healing & awareness tool for your week. This week's activity has to do with steppings towards our New Year, and closing doors to the past. Aries: Use mental courage with career and what may feel like initial setbacks. Trust that the outcome will prove valuable and provide forward momentum in the long run. You are getting a chance for increased comfort, support and nourishment right now. Celebrate your gains but watch for relationship tests and lessons- especially in the coming weeks. The courage you have been cultivating recently will be required for boundaries and clearly stating your needs. Don't put up with sharks, but try not to become one either. Taurus: Take in new knowledge and guidance for increased comfort and support. Don't get over powered by ego and big personalities. You should be able to see through that by now. Trust your gut instincts. You are still digesting rocks and must watch your diet- avoid overly rajasic and heavy foods. Keep it simple and fresh. Meditation is an excellent use of your time. This is a period of purging and letting go of old relationships and people/things that don't bring lasting comfort and support. Start a rummage pile. Gemini: Relationships continue to provide expansion, awareness, and growth as you re-trace your steps, going over very old, familiar territory. Perhaps it is helping your career, but feeling bittersweet in other ways. As Sun moves to your eighth house, courage may be in hiding for the coming weeks. Use this opportunity to gain a fresh perspective, to dig deep into your past for insights- but don't get taken advantage of while you sit on the bench thinking things through. Start working with your shadows and illusions, you'll need the insights once your Sun emerges from its hiding place. Cancer: Full Moon in Cancer this week gives you a moment of glow, inspiration and new awareness. You need courage right now to deal with friendships that may feel more like enemies- aka frenimies. Boundaries and intuition will prove useful for being clear about needs and wants; take affirmative action to protect your Self. Relationships will either help or hurt your forward momentum with career, home and heart; be intentional with your motives. What pieces are you missing? Gain clues this week into finding new and more harmonious ways to co-exist. Leo: Use your efforts to courageously power forward and harness the changing winds for a new direction. You are in a digestion phase which will prove useful to assimilate and integrate pieces of your Self and your ego. The insights will prove valuable for finding clarity and increased comfort and support. Speak your needs/wants and make sure your relationships are aligned with these. Use intuition and creativity to dive deep. Turn these golden nuggets into new offerings with career and artistry. Listen to your gut. Virgo: Cleaning and clearing the heart is a good use of your efforts and time right now. Art may prove a powerful resource for this. Check in with emotions- especially anger. There is great power here and a need to roar and find your voice. Connect your career with education, learning, creativity and childlike wisdom. Remember when you were a child? What pieces were missing and what do you still need for wholeness? Cultivate that presence and awareness now and focus on getting the nourishment and support that was missing from your early childhood. This will prove valuable with regard to relationships and emotions. Libra: The heart doesn't lie. What is the emotional residue that remains- keeping you from trusting and embracing relationships fully? As the losses continue to feel like they are piling up, check in with anger and the mental/emotional balance within; try to recalibrate. Courage with relationships is necessary right now as well as your creativity and artistry. There is great ability to learn and grow with these tools however so keep moving towards possible gains. Meditation will help cultivate more presence with your mental/emotional bodies so don't neglect your spiritual practices. Scorpio: Watch what goes in and out of your mouth right now. You may be having a reaction to relationships and mental/emotional issues. Your courage is in transformation while intuition and digestion seem to be working in reverse- causing some upsets. Watch for flare ups and indigestion. Get support on some of the old issues that may be creeping back in and don't neglect the red flags along the way. You have a chance to make some lasting changes right now so listen up and face the facts. Who and what angers you and robs you of your power? Sagittarius: Some tension exists between you and your career. Losing your momentum and desire? Friction with relations at work and with friends? This is a chance for you to work on your emotions- especially your needs. What type of support and comfort do you need and who do you need it from? Try to get clear on needs and wants in order to lessen the tension. This may be about your boundaries and speaking directly to others about what you are willing to offer and what is beyond your comfort zone. Speak up. Capricorn: Sun moves to your first house this week, moving you out of some reclusive months of introspection and hiding. The lights are turning back on. What will you do with your new vision, power and momentum? There's a lot flickering in your heart fire and still much cleanup and transformation with relationships in general. Career fluctuations and changes continue; align with older and established enterprises for more sustainability and support. The notoriety will come when your feet are more firmly planted. Aquarius: As Sun moves into Capricorn this week, you move into a month of hiding, regeneration, transformation and endings. Don't worry, this can be a metamorphosis that brings renewal on the other side. Use this time for strengthening intuition and digestion; the mind/body connection. You continue to work on themes involving relationships, lessons with your heart and emotions, home and mother as well as siblings and friendships. Though courage feels hard to find at times, keep stepping- one foot at a time. Pisces: As you continue to clean up the residue within your heart, much of the current relationship woes will mend themselves. There's a general restructuring happening around relationships- most appear to be effecting career and work agendas as well as your courage and creativity. Use this time to digest and process the gains and setbacks you've been experiencing with strong personalities and your own passion. Rewind. What pieces of that passion are alive and well within you? What passion is being stoked within you as a result of these encounters? Anger is powerful, so use it for forward momentum and gain. Don't stuff it. Moon is full (Purnima) on 12.17 at 3:27 am CST. It will be sandhi in degrees and in Gemini at its fullest point and in Mrgashiras nakshatra. Use the next few weeks for a creative focus, using the hands especially, and finding new ways to express your Self. Let go of the old and invite in new parts of your Self. Moon begins its waning phase (Krishna Paksha) after the full moon and transits Taurus, Gemini, Cancer and Leo this week. Moon in its own sign Cancer 12.19 to 12.21. Navigate your emotional waters carefully at this time. Sun moved to Sagittarius on 12.15 at 14:35 CST and is there until 1.14.14. Mercury joins Sun in Sagittarius this week on 12.20 at 09:12 am CST. Both Sun and Mercury in Sagittarius receive drishti (gaze) from Saturn, Mars and Jupiter. There will be a desire to expand, yet contraction principles at play simultaneously. Frustrations, mental confusion, anxiety and frenzy can come if we push too hard, overextend ourselves or do not effectively re-calibrate our intentions. Things will likely take longer than you'd like to pan out, so adjust for this. Best use of your time and efforts will be through goal setting, making to-do lists and using methodical action steps. Set your goals and aim high, but work backwards effectively in order to get the results you'd like. Less is actually more right now. Plan for upheaval and change as some restructuring takes place on an inner level. Venus begins its retrograde dance on 12.21 at 15:52 CST while in UttarAshada nakshatra and continues to move backwards into Sagittarius until 1.31.14 . The nakshatra UttaraAshada is ruled by Vishvadeva; good character and "doing the right thing" are paramount here. The Vishvadevas are literally "universal principles" or the Laws of Nature, and bring us reminders of how to act in alignment with life in order to bring more harmony. Use this reminder of "good conduct" in our relationships during this retrograde cycle as Venus is a strong planetary focus for us currently (ruling planet of Libra where both Saturn and Rahu sit). Recent set backs in relationships, creativity, romance, passion, wealth and money will get a chance for re-evaluation. The obstacles felt over the past months may get smoothed out over the coming weeks or we may be confronted with opportunities to "do things better" than before with more dignity and alignment- in tune with the devas. Look for divine intervention, serendipity and "cosmic connections". However, be aware of snares, traps and set-ups. Be mindful of your need to "fix" others and remember you can only fix your Self. With the double retrograde action of Jupiter and Venus occurring, the desire to "fix" relationships will be at an all-time high. Re-direct that energy back onto your Self. Note that some relationships will get stronger during this time, while others will fall apart and lose their strength. Some individuals will lose their desire to "be in relation" at all. For the recluse types, this is the ultimate time of silence and a wonderful opportunity for meditating, spiritual focus and a strong turning inward. Perfect timing as we mark the Winter Solstice on 12.21- a time when the depth of Nature's silence is upon us. Happy and abundant winter Solstice blessings! Utilize my jyoti/creative arts activities as a healing & awareness tool. This week's Jyoti/Expressive Art Therapy Creative Engagement Activity has us working with the ribcase and expansion and contraction energy. Aries: Focus your attention/intention on home and heart this week. What clean up and healing work needs your focus? Self care is still your best use of time and energy. Work picks up this week. Relationships (new and old) bring career connections. Expect some returns on your past efforts to finally pay off in the coming month. Remember, work smarter, not harder. Keep peeling back layers of your Self, finding new depth. Taurus: Life begins to move in reverse. What do you do when the same issues resurface again and again? Do you finally take notice? Do you wake up one morning with a new realization about your Self, your life? Prepare for a ground hogs day paradigm over the coming weeks and use this time to re-evaluate the missing parts and pieces of your life. You are being offered a chance to heal you and your relationships. Don't squander this time. This week, use heart felt courage and get a jump start. Gemini: Use this time to gain your creative edge, even if it feels like uncharted territory and the momentum is hard to find. Ask for support and assistance. This is a time of re-evaluating your relationships. What is working and what isn't? What adjustments and changes need to be made so you can get your needs met? It may feel like your relationships are asking too much of you or are requiring extra work. Before you jump ship, ask your Self if you've done your own home work (inner work). Cancer: The pull to the foreign, travels and alone time are proving to be healing on a soul level. There's an itch in your socks though. What is that nagging feeling? Worries, haunts, enemies, your old bad habits and fears still pushing you on some level. This is the emotional clean up that persists and continues to demand your attention. You can't run from it, you can't hide from it. You just need to face it; to face your Self and your heart and how you relate in your relationships. Once. And. For. All. Leo: Take courageous, passionate strides with your creativity and your relationships- especially with children. Find that child-like sense of wonder and zest for life and re-kindle your desire for connection with your friends, family and lover. There may be confusion here and certainly healing that needs to take place in order for more confidence. Use this week to gain some new awareness, educate your Self on what your needs are and look for new opportunities for fulfillment. Mind your words. Think before you speak. Virgo: Why go backwards when you can go forward? Don't retrace your steps, make new ones. When your heart says one thing, but you do something different, there is an impact on your soul and your connection to source. Use this time for making a strong connection to your dreams and desires and take the necessary actions to actualize them. Be passionate and live passionately because you deserve it. This week, forward momentum with your career is beckoning. Libra: Your courage is like a wild horse that needs to be tamed, re-focused, harmonized. The push and pull within is creating a feeling of instability and taking its toll on you and your relationships. Slowing way down will go a long way in making your head stop spinning. It is vital that you ground your Self daily. Working with feet, earth, connecting to stability and support in your physical body will go a long way to help you find more balance. Remember to breathe. Scorpio: Depth and mental acuity are high. You continue to work on finding support and comfort that feels sustainable and lasting. What does that actually feel like? When the disappointment and discouragement sets in, who and what is your savior, your grounding force? What grace comes to the rescue? Creativity is the balm of hope and possibility. Use these tools for creating the life you dream of and desire. Sing your songs of freedom. Sagittarius: The Sun is out for you right now and you are finding a new set point for inner/outer balance with gains and losses- especially in your relationships. You win some, you lose some, but for now, some expansion is possible, so take it while you can. There may be a few rubs at work however, and some losses in terms of fluctuating finances. This is all part of your new relationship with balance. What are your priorities? Who and what is vital to your security and stability? Keep it simple. Capricorn: Use this week to sharpen your creative edge. Sharpen it to a point, with exactness. You are pulling back your arrow and finding your target. Aim, but don't shoot yet. As much as possible, use silence to gain an advantage and greater depth in your process. This is sacred time. Use your power effectively and efficiently. Some lost pieces will be returned shortly. Do you want them back or are you ready to set your Self free? Aquarius: A sharp mental edge is a current boon for you. Some courage is coming with it- from your depths. Friends and older siblings prove supportive and give you an opportunity to restore relationship wounds- especially in the coming weeks. For now, emotional healing is your best use of time and energy- paying special attention to your anger. Gaining knowledge and wisdom- outside of your comfort zone- will prove rewarding. Pisces: The gifts you desire to offer others begin to take more shape and clarity, yet old belief systems and uncertainties still haunt, bringing fear and self-doubt. Work on lineage and family patterns to heal these wounds. Relationships may feel agitated and unsettled. Watch what you say and how you say it. In the coming weeks you will get some chances to re-gain some losses- perhaps through the assistance of friends or older siblings. It will require some courage and action on your part as well as the full depth of your compassion. |
