The March New Moon arrives on Saturday the 17th at 07:12 am MT while Moon transits the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces, and Purvabhadra nakshatra. Moon joins Sun, exalted Venus and debilitated Mercury here as well. All receive gaze from Mars and Rahu. This combination can provoke aggression and confusion, as well as a lack of clear thinking and intensified emotions. This theme may intensify throughout the waxing cycle. Focus on clearing and releasing what rises to the surface and attend to the needs arriving. Allow emotions to move through you and support the release of your big emotions. New Moon in Purvabhadra increases the need for integration and balance of opposing forces. There is a need for honoring duality and harmonizing conflicts. Ajaikapada rules over this portion of the sky. He is an expression of Nataraja, Lord of the Dance, Lord Shiva. He dances between realms, worlds, and holds both. One foot grounded and rooted, the other lifted, prepared to move forward. This is an expression of his ability to hold duality and integrate opposing forces. Shiva asks us to simplify and do tapas in order for purification. Something must be released and actions and behaviors need to be simplified. Through this process of releasing, simplifying and purifying, clarity, wisdom and prosperity emerges. The power of Rudra is offered under this constellation, which can be channeled into auspicious activities and purposes with positive results. The symbol of this constellation is the front half of a funeral cot, inviting in release and letting go. This cycle prepares us for something new. Be prepared to let go, in order for the new to have space to arrive. A deep level of purification is taking place in the days ahead. Support this process and allow new resources to support you. There is much clearing and release taking place. This waxing cycle supports clearing and letting go of the old. Parts of you that have been stuck will require your conscious uprooting. This may mean you have to retrace some old terrain in order to support the clearing. Dive deeply and honor depths and unconscious realms. Awakening to your inner conflicts and polarities are key in this process. Gains come with your clearing and release process. You must make room for something new. This process may require diving into very old, painful territory and cleaning up relationship grief. Seek integration, harmony and balance between self and others. Between inner and outer. Between your darkness and light. What mirrors are arriving to help you attend to the past and release it? What relationships need to be released once and for all? What integration and balance is needed in order for deeper grounding? In the cycle ahead, attend to your grounding, inner and outer stability as well as your feet. Connect with the earth and find ways to deepen your roots. Find your ground and activate your inner intelligence. Pay attention to your feet and what they tell you about your grounding cord. Stay rooted. As the new Moon arrives, Chaitra Navaratri begins as well. Navaratri begins the evening of the 17th and continues until the 25th of March. The final day of Navaratri is Ram Navami, the celebrated birth day of Lord Ram. The Navaratri celebration is an expression of what is taking place within Nature, through the Laws that govern Nature, marking an important transition within us and around us. Align with Nature and Her powerful energy of change and transformation during Navaratri. Ritualize your connections with Nature- in order to land more closely to your own inner wisdom, to Her wisdom. Strengthen your connection to self and Spirit. Navaratri is a poignant time in the Vedic Calendar. This ancient calendar is one that is dedicated to Nature and her cycles and rhythms, the planets, and most importantly the Moon. In the Vedic Calendar, time is connected to what Nature and the cosmos are doing, and these elements are intimately related. Navaratri occurs twice a year- in the "gap" seasons of spring and fall. These times are considered sandhi times; delicate times that feel like you are neither here, nor there. We might call it the netherworld. This time, though delicate, is considered sacred. Read More About Navaratri. Creative Ritual Feet bring stability and grounding. They offer us the ability to "step forward" both physically and metaphorically in our lives. We sense and connect to the earth (the ultimate support system) through the souls of our feet which helps us find our overall balance, nourishment and resiliency. Time to step forward with momentum and spring into new actions in order to harvest new growth, wisdom and abundance. 1) Use the feet as a starting point for your movement exploration. Notice the sensations in your feet. How do they feel? Move through space and notice your feet. Bring awareness to the souls of your feet and the sensations arriving. Spend 10-20 minutes moving your body, while noticing the sensations in your feet. 2) Create an image of your feet. What colors, shapes and images arrive? Use craypas, paints, pencil or collage to create this image. Spend 10-20 minutes in the creative process. Title your image and ask your foot image to share with you. If it could speak, what would it say? 3) In your journal, spend some time answering these questions: What am I stepping towards? What am I moving away from? I call myself the Dharma Midwife. The first New Moon of the year arrives on January 16th at 19:17 MST while Moon is transiting sidereal Capricorn and UttarAshada nakshatra. Just before the new Moon, on Sunday, January 14th, the returning of the Sun arrives. Makar Sankranti in the Vedic Calendar marks the movement of Surya/Sun into Capricorn and the beginning of more light and longer days. Mentioned in the Mahabharata, this solar festival is estimated to be about 5,000 years old. Mark this timing with intention and invite in the return of the light. What are you inviting in and ready to receive?! Hours before the new Moon, Mars shifts into its own sign, Scorpio, until March 7th. Planets in their own signs tend to offer more balance. Expect the warrior planet to ask you to dive deeply into your personal mythology. Look within and peer into your shadows and illusions. Use fear as a resource and let it guide you towards meaning and purpose. Superficiality won't be tolerated in this cycle. Put your muck boots on. Fiery Mars is considered exalted in Capricorn and four planets collide in this earthy sign at the time of the New Moon. Venus and Sun are too close for comfort still, creating a combustion. When fire (Sun) and water (Venus) conjunct, steam is created. How do you direct this passionate energy? Don't get burned out. Watch for depletion of your life force energy and overworking. Rest, silence and least force is vital right now. Venus, Sun, and Moon collide with the Moksha planet, Ketu as well. Ketu always brings restructuring and release which deepens at the time of the new Moon. Watch for sudden changes and transformations. What are you releasing and letting go of? What needs to be burned, cut, restructured or transformed in order to create space for the new? What personal mythology is keeping you stressed, overworked and misaligned? The constellation of UttarAshada is fixed- which gives stable, lasting results that offer great benefits. Vishvadeva rules this portion of the sky and provides integrity and alignment with ones highest purpose. Adharma (that which goes against dharma) is not tolerated. Integrity is key with this constellation. The all-gods who rule this domain remind us of virtue, goodness, truth, determination, talent, time, enjoyment, firmness, sight, fame and leadership. These are non-negotiable attributes of one's dharmic path. Where are you aligned with your purpose? Where are you misaligned? Use this waxing cycle to make radical improvements within your life path. This is a time of great healing and transformation. Seek balance, integration and strength. Clarify your needs and what is missing on your path. What resources and support do you need for greater ease and alignment? Where are you making life harder than it needs to be? Open you heart by leaning into your darkness and shadow. Not sure what this looks like for you? Notice where you are resisting or sabotaging your success, your needs and your nourishment. Attend to your gut, digestion and power. Watch for conflicts and misunderstandings. Seek peaceful solutions, without avoidance. Use your fire carefully. Creative Ritual PART #1 1) If I could do anything I wanted without the fear of failure what would it be? 2) What is stopping me right now from taking the first step? 3) How can I overcome what is stopping me? PART #2 Where do you want to be six months from now?! Step 1: Write down your vision. Journal it into your full awareness. Step 2: Create your vision. Draw, paint or collage your vision into form. Give it a title. Step 3: Harvest your vision. If your image could speak to you, what would it say?! Step 4: Make your vision a reality. What steps need to take place for your vision to become a reality six months from now?! What action step can you take today?! I call myself the Dharma Midwife. Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com As the Moon becomes dark and empty this month, themes of uprooting, untangling and destruction arrive. Just days before the new Moon, Sun shifts into his month long transit through Sagittarius. The December new Moon brings a collision of Moon, Saturn and Sun- all in Sagittarius and Mula nakshatra. The process of uprooting will be happening on multiple levels- including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Radical release is taking place and will require as much grounding as possible in order to navigate the chaos and change process. Stay close to the body. The new Moon occurs on December 17th just before midnight Mountain time. At 23:31 MT, Moon is completely empty and Sun, Moon and Saturn conjoin in the domain of the dark goddess, Nirrti. The constellation of Mula is synonymous with change and transformation. Uprooting on the psycho-emotional level will take place as Moon, Sun and Saturn shift through this notorious gandanta (gap). Ruling deity of this portion of the sky is Nirrti, who brings calamity, misfortune and chaos in her wake. As a result of these challenges, deep healing, insights and wisdom can occur. But without diligence, the chaos and adharma (that which goes against dharma) can also keep one from finding their way back to the path. This is an extremely fragile cycle. Do not take unnecessary risks in the coming days. This coming cycle destroys and uproots the parts of you that are disempowered. Seek truth, purpose and dharma above all. These are the sources of light that will help shine the light on your path. Seek your light source and tirelessly move closer to your shadow, the parts of you refusing to awaken. Crack open your ego. fearlessly lean into your inner masculine, and look closely at your fear. Why are you resisting your vulnerability, your heart and emotions? This is a time of immense healing, but it requires strength, willingness and courage to make strides. Pull the weeds from your garden. What is choking the life out of you? What is clogging your channels of nourishment and life force? What is keeping you playing small and pretending to be insignificant? Your power is immense. Let the strength and wisdom of your heart lead the way. Unpack the dynamics within your relationships and let them mirror to you what you need the most. Listen to your gut and let it share its wisdom with you. What are your deepest needs for nourishment? Ask the ancestors for support. As you attend to this powerful release process, intentionally create space for the new. What are you making space for in your life? What needs to be healed or released before you can fully receive these needs? Read more: Six Ways to Feed the Ancestors Creative Ritual The gut, or solar plexus, is the seat of power and connects us to the masculine, power and by default the fifth house of the jyotish chart, as well as the sign of Leo. The metaphors for gut have to do with digestion and assimilation as well as elimination. What are you digesting and assimilating? How effectively do you eliminate and release what you no longer need, what is no longer nourishing you? We use this process of digestion in our lives on multiple levels; with our assimilation of environment, our internal/external landscapes, with words, ideas and life's experiences. The gut is connected to intuition, our "gut responses". Stomach problems are associated with "the inability to process and assimilate impressions received from our outer environment. Our ability to eliminate, or how we eliminate, is connected with the abdomen. In Eastern traditions, the belly is considered the center of the body, and the place form which a state of balance emanates. The abdomen acts as a transit area between the upper and lower areas of our body." -The Expressive Body in Life, Art and Therapy by Daria Halprin. 1) Use movements such as "cat and cow" and gentle spinal twists to activate the gut. Notice if your breaths are going all the way to the base of the stomach, or stopping short. Lie on your back and place your hands on your belly. Feel the gentle undulations of its rise and fall with each breath. Gently knead your gut with your fingers. Notice any sore spots or lumps? Move around the navel in a circular pattern. Stop and let your body relax and respond to the touch of your hands on your belly. Move and connect with your stomach for 10-20 min. 2) As you complete your movement exploration, pause and check. What do you notice in your belly? What sensations and feelings arrive? Notice if any images, colors or shapes are present within. If your belly could share a message with you, what would it say? 3) Come to your drawing pad. Draw an image your belly. What feelings and images were invoked during your body part exploration? Let your image express these feelings and sensations. Spend 10-20 minutes on your image. Give your image a title then answer these questions: If your image could speak to you, what would it say? What am I releasing? What am feeding myself with? I am on a mission to help sensitive souls connect with their inner truth and inner wisdom. To connect with purpose and dharma. The coming month will request depth and introspection, peering into the unconscious terrain of your being, and gathering insights and pearls of wisdom. Sun in Scorpio shifts the light away from the most vulnerable and fragile time of year (Sun in Libra), towards looking at your darkness, pain and emotional struggles. Vulnerability emerges but through themes of sexuality and sensuality, as well as debts and grief, the past and illusions. New Moon in Scorpio and Vishaka nakshatra arrives on the 18th at 04:42 am Mountain Time. Vishaka nakshatra is ruled by the dual god, Indragni. Indra is the king of the gods, while Agni is the priest. Both rely on each other and are interdependent on each other's skills and resources. One can not function without the other. The king relies on spiritual support from the priest, whereas the priest relies on the king's financial resources. Both are extremely powerful, yet their power doubles when they work together. Agni is the fire of life, the powerful transformational energy of change, release and healing. Agni brings new life through digestion and assimilation. He connects us to the mouth, the portal of nourishment, where food is transformed into body and flesh. Agni supports the transformation of our offerings at the altar, in order for our gifts to be received by Spirit and the ancestors. Vishaka nakshatra reminds us that two heads are better than one, that support and relationships are vital for life. This constellation also places an emphasis on duality and the need for integrating opposing forces. Differences can in fact be resources, rather than challenges that set us apart. How can you integrate opposing forces within you? Where are you in conflict with the illusion of difference and separateness? What inner conflicts are enlivened right now? What battles are you waging- against yourself and others? This Scorpio Moon brings a new cycle that will encourage you to look at power in new ways. Identify your struggle and challenges with power. Where are you playing small and resisting your inner strength and empowerment? Where are you resisting goals and desires? What parts of you are stuck playing small when you know you have so much more to offer, share and express? The coming weeks require deeper integration and balance between polarities, opposing forces and inner conflicts. Anger, rage, resentment and feelings of being stuck may emerge. Are you ready to change this dynamic? Action steps and new choices are required. Seek new types of support and resources to help you gather new insights and guidance. Collaborate and connect with others in new ways. Release the old in order to create space for new nourishment, wealth and bounty. If your old ways are not providing the results you want, try something new. What needs to change in order for you to get new results? Where do you need more support, resources and guidance? How are you staying stuck, playing small and disempowering yourself? In what ways are you sabotaging your success, growth and strength? Creative Ritual Four Ways to Release Anger Right Now: #1 Anger is often a first response emotion. It can become an addiction to feel anger- especially if this is the way you learned how to feel and express. Anger happens to be the most socially acceptable emotion, so most people default to anger quite easily. Step number one is to get into the habit of checking in with the four levels of your being and do a self audit. This process can help you identify the experiences happening within your inner landscape so you don't disconnect from your body and emotions. Do A Self Audit #2 What are you angry about? Who are you angry at? Consider this your challenge. Now use my Challenge Creative Ritual to identify, move and transform your anger into potent awareness. #3 Move your anger safely. Release anger and rage by screaming, yelling, punching pillows, throwing things (without harming yourself or anyone/anything else) and stomping. Get the sound of your anger out in a safe, contained space. Let the emotion move out and through your body. #4 Tap and Rant. EFT is a powerful resource for moving emotions- especially anger. Tap on the heart point in the center of the chest or tap through the points as you speak your anger aloud. Don't hold back. Tapping through the points as you express your anger, will support its movement and release, without it getting stuck in your body. Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The September new Moon is at the final hour of Tuesday, September 19th. At 23:30 Mountain time, Moon enters the first tithi (phase) of the waxing half, closing the door on the last cycle. Amavasya, or the new Moon, is a seed planting time- ripe with potential and possibility. Release and letting go must take place in order for you to plant your seeds in the cycle to come. What is it that you are letting go of- in preparation for the new, the ripening and harvest to come? This new Moon occurs in Virgo where Sun has newly entered. Both Sun and Moon will be in the latter half of the Phalguni constellation- Uttaraphalguni. This is a constellation ruled by Aryaman and the ancestors. As a god of resources, sustenance and health, Aryaman brings support for marriage and that which pleases the ancestors- like perpetuating the lineage and honoring dharma. The Phalguni constellations are notorious for ripeness, fertility and giving the fruits of your efforts; they are symbolized by a bed- a place of creation, rest, rejuvenation and pleasure. These stars correlate to love, sexuality, sensuality and relationships. Purva phalguni connects more to the lower half of the body, while Uttara phalguni correlates to the upper half of the body as well as the future and lasting results. Fruitful outcomes occur through the Phalguni constellations. It is a powerful time to create contracts that you want lasting support and results from. In the waxing cycle to come, it's powerful time to gather your harvest for the past season. What are you taking with you? What are you leaving behind? What is still digesting and integrating? What are the new needs showing up? What grief are you still carrying that needs to be released and digested? Movement, expansion and momentum come in the weeks ahead. Make changes that help you align with new nourishment and growth. It's time to move forward and be bold with your desires. Make sure your actions, choices, words and desires match your long term expectations. What are you moving towards? What needs to be released in order to make room for the new? Where are you holding grief, clogging the channels and keeping you from deeper receptivity? Digest, release and integrated grief from the past cycle. This is a cycle of healing and preparation. Don't move too fast. Slow down and be methodical with your steps- as tempting as it may be to rush. Move towards new nourishment and make room for the new by clearing and releasing the unconscious terrain that keeps you stuck and striving but never arriving. What stories of lack are in your way of abundance and deeper love? This new Moon kicks off a powerful cycle of transformation and release during the Navaratri celebrations. The nine days of Mother Divine begin just after the new Moon on September 20th. Equinox arrives two days later on the 22nd. Fall equinox for the Northern Hemisphere and Spring equinox for the Southern Hemisphere. Nava means nine and ratri means night in Sanskrit. Each day and night of this powerful junction point, correlates to the epic battle between the goddess Sri Devi Mahatmyam and the demon Mahishasura. Maha Devi Mahatmyam is connected to both Durga and Shakti, powerful forms of divine feminine energy that awaken, clear, transform and heal. Sri Devi is understood to be the supreme creation power of the universe, the Tridevi, or triple goddess, as she expresses the creation, sustaining and destructive energies that perpetuate all forms of life. In the sacred text known as the Sri Devi Mahatmyam, composed between 400 and 600 CE, the many forms of the goddess are expressed. "She is presented, through a language of praise, as the one who dwells in all creatures, as the soul, as the power to know, the power to will and the power to act. She is consciousness of all living beings, she is intelligence, she is matter, and she is all that is form or emotion." - Via Wikipedia During the nine day and night Navaratri celebration, the battle between light and dark forces enlivens, ending on the 10th day with Victory Day, Vijaya Dashami. This battle between light and dark, good and bad, masculine and feminine, transformation and healing, is taking place within all beings at this sacred junction point. It is a time to heal and integrate polarities within. Read more about Navaratri. Creative RitualUse this simple process to help you harvest a message from your grief. Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The July new Moon awakens nourishment, wisdom and support from the guru as Moon transits Cancer and Pushya nakshatra at the time of the New Moon. At 03:46 am on July 23rd, Sun, Moon and Mars collide in Brihaspati's domain, inviting in support from the sacred. Moon in its own sign of Cancer, softens the heart and increases a sense of emotional body balance. Spiritual awareness will help increase new understanding and deeper compassion. Sudden emotional shifts are likely and sensitivity is high. Protect yourself and find ways to land within consciously. The coming cycle brings a powerful heart opening process that requires some storms to clear and open the channels. Find the balance between release and healing. What needs to be let go of in order to create space for the new? Brihaspati's nakshatra, Pushya, is a a constellation ruled by the structure and constriction of Saturn, and yet Brihaspati is the personification of Jupiter and his expansive, spiritual nature. When the energy of Saturn and Jupiter align, ultimate integration is awakened. Seek integration and alignment between your polarities in the coming cycle. The interesting thing about this nakshatra is its seemingly contradictory rulers. Brihaspati is the deity who governs this lunar constellation. Essentially he is the personification of Jupiter, the expansive, nourishing, wisdom giver. However, the planetary ruler of Pushya is Saturn, the contractive, slow, grief inducing planet. As the nourishing star, this nakshatra reminds us of the importance of balance. Both expansion and contraction are vital for any real balance to be experienced. Cancer is the sign Pushya resides in, which is the seat of our emotional body and heart, and the home to our inhale and exhale as well as trust in life. Pushya reminds us that the ultimate nourishing breath of life comes with both openings and closings. Healthy boundaries that include yes and no, being a part of this process. As the nourishing star, this nakshatra supports nourishment that comes with balance- honoring the open and close of life and death, inhale and exhale, joy and pain. Integrating our polarities, both shadow and light, are essential in order for maximum nourishment from life. Nourishment comes with balance and healthy boundaries. Inner and outer needs must be integrated and harmonized. Where do you need more balance with inner and outer? Use your heart to calibrate your needs and choices. Keep landing back in your heart wisdom, your emotional body, and listen carefully. There is depth and awakening available to those who listen to the wisdom of heart and breath in this waxing cycle. Balance, breath and heart wisdom, opens and closes in the coming weeks. Though Pushya is the nourishing star, a provider of support, wisdom and holding, it often arrives after some release and letting go; just as the exhale allows the inhale. Take time for landing in your heart and breath in the coming cycle and use your breath to arrive in the now. Open the heart and release the pain. What are you opening to? What are you closing to? Creative Ritual Expanding our container, our capacity to hold and to release, can physically and metaphorically be done through the breath. New Moon in Cancer and Pushya nakshatra, is allowing us to align with our heart, work intentionally with the emotional body- our capacity to feel- while also giving us new opportunities to work with healthy boundaries. The open and close dynamic of boundary work (yes and no) is signified by our inhale and exhale. Below is a breath dance, designed to enliven and maximize your breath awareness and your container for sensing and feeling. 1. Breath Dance. Begin standing, lying down or sitting. Bring your awareness to your breath as it moves in and out of your body. Filling and letting go, opening and releasing, like waves moving in and out of the body. Track the movements and sensations in the body and let these guide you. The sensations will guide you into the physical body impulses, the messages of the body. As you continue to breathe and become more and more aware of the movements of the ribcase, let these movements exaggerate. These exaggerated movements are the making of your "breath dance". Continue to move from and with the movements of the ribcase as you breath. Explore, expand and develop your breath dance for at least 10 minutes. Let it evolve and as it does, continue to self track, noticing the body parts most alive and awake as you explore your body part sensations present. As you bring your breath dance to a close, ask yourself these questions: I sense, I feel, I imagine. 2. Create an image of your heart and ribcase. What colors, textures, shapes and images arrive on the page as you draw your ribcase? I encourage you to get your hands involved in this process whether it be through painting directly with your hands, or smudging the craypas with your fingers. Let the hands be sensitized through the process. Get messy. Let the hands and fingers fully engage in this image. (Working with clay may be an alternate medium to work with). Title your image. Take at least 15 minutes for this. 3. Harvesting. When your image is complete, use it to harvest with further inquiry by asking it these questions: Ask your image if it has anything it would like to share with you: If your image could speak, what would it say? I am I want I need What am I opening to? What am I closing to? I am on a mission to help sensitive souls connect with their inner truth and inner wisdom. To connect with purpose and dharma. Both Sun and Moon are in sidereal Taurus and Rohini nakshatra, Earthy Taurus likes the tangible, and helps the Moon feel rooted- which is why this is the Moon's exaltation sign. Rohini nakshatra is ruled by the Moon and is lord Brahma's domain. In the cycle to come, expect growth, expansion and immense creativity. How will you use and channel this creative life force energy? Lord Brahma is the ruling deity of this notoriously creative constellation. Much manifestation and the ability to bring ideas into form is strengthened and supported within this nakshatra. Brahma's wife is goddess Saraswati. Here feminine life force power is rooted in art, music and wisdom- all resources for creating, manifesting and increasing growth. Both masculine and feminine energies are necessary for the creative process. Though it's easy to get lost in the physical realms and what is tangible, it is also vital to resource from your depths, your creative intelligence. It is your inner wisdom that supports your creation process. This waxing cycle demands more self expression and sharing of your gifts, wisdom and creativity. There may be confusion and uncertainty about how to go about this, but take steps regardless. Relationships become both a resource for spiritual resourcing and sudden change and transformation. Stay rooted, grounded and stable within your pelvis and creative energy center. Sensuality and sexuality can be a resource for increasing life force energy, Shakti. Use it intentionally to create, transform, heal and grow. Focus on nourishment, gains and how to increase abundance. Increase life force energy through self expression, sharing your gifts and speaking your truth. Nourishment comes when we align with our highest needs. What is your heart's longing, your biggest desire? Take powerful action steps in the coming cycle to birth your visions into form. Notice where you let confusion and uncertainty keep you stuck, overwhelmed and uncertain. Clean up and clear away people, situations and stagnant emotions that are robbing you of more space to create what you want and need. Clear away grief from the gut so that you can step into your power and purpose more fully! Mars shifts to Gemini on Friday the 26th until July 11th when it will move into its sign of debilitation. This new transit increasing the need to clarify and refine your actions, steps and decisions. Gains from your creativity are available in the coming six weeks during this transit, but require that you stay true to your needs and inner vision. Don't get lost, sidetracked or stuck in the uncertainty or imperfections. Take consistent action steps regardless. As long as you are aligned with dharma and purpose, there will be support, resources and gains. Misalignment will create challenges and a waste of energy. Stay true to course. Creative RitualCultivate a practice of checking in with your "four bodies" on a daily basis. Mental body, emotional body, physical body and spiritual body. Get the Details * Create a list of self care activities that nourish and support your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. * Use the four level check in regularly as well as EFT for identifying and moving emotions. 1) Using craypas, paints or pencils, create an image of your nourishment. What does nourishment feel like for you? Create an image that expresses this feeling using colors, textures and shapes. Allow 20 minutes at minimum for this nourishment image. Title your image. 2) Use your image to inspire a movement exploration. Let your body move in response to your nourishment image with an intention of "moving with your feelings of nourishment". What sensations emerge for you during your dance? What awareness? Allow 5 to 10 minutes for this movement exploration. I encourage you to extend this time frame as you recycle this process. 3) Harvesting. In your journal answer these questions: I am, I want, I need, I sense, I feel, I imagine. What deeply nourishes me? What no longer nourishes me? Where do I feel support in my life? Where do I need more support? What am I opening to? What am I closing to? Share your images and harvest in the Embodied Dharma FB group! I am on a mission to help sensitive souls connect with their inner truth and inner wisdom. To connect with purpose and dharma. We need you now more than ever!
Every week I offer two *free* dharma coaching sessions to action takers who are ready for deep life change. Is this you?! Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com The April new Moon is Wednesday, the 26th at 06:17 am Mountain Time while Moon is in Aries and Ashwini nakshatra. This is a beginning, a fresh start, a release- ushering in a cycle of rejuvenation and healing. Ashwini nakshatra is one of three gandantas in the zodiac- gaps that cause transformation and powerful change. Ketu, the planet of disconnection and liberation, rules all three of these gandantas, which indicates there will be some loss involved. The new Moon brings potential, possibility, an opening. With this new Moon and the cycle ahead, it's an important time to attend to the tilling of your inner soil, uproot, release and let go of all that is not serving you. If you don't wish to carry it forward, if it truly isn't benefiting you, it must be composted and allowed to die. The constellation of Ashwini is a the first star of the zodiac, as Aries is the first sign- thus a fresh start, new beginning has arrived. You may be feeling the immense potential and opening- and unsteady, uncertain and vulnerable simultaneously. The Ashvini-Kumara twins rule this domain of the sky and provide healing and rejuvenation through health protocols such as Ayurveda. Their magical healing energy provide strength and power, stamina and vitality. They fight poison with skill and determination. They have life=giving powers that can restore youth and life force energy. In the Vedic tradition, the healing arts span everything from health to the arts. The understanding is that creativity is a life giving resource which supports the healing process. Creativity of all kinds are supported in this coming cycle as a result. This waxing cycle offers gains, but not without conscious and diligent release. From your losses, gains will arrive. What are you letting go of? What are you creating space for in your life? Use your losses and grief as fertilizer. Your pain and challenges are resources for gains, new awareness and cultivating more clarity about what you need- in order for greater nourishment and life force. There is still clean-up taking place as Mercury, Saturn and Jupiter retrograde. Mental, physical and spiritual bodies are requesting your attention and intention. Clean, clear and purge the mind so that body and spirit have more space to support you. What stories are keeping you stuck in lack? Until Mercury goes direct on May 3rd, attend to themes of clean up with communications, connection, creativity, money and commerce. The mind needs your attention and requests that you attend to outmoded personal mythology that keeps you from being nourished. At the time of the New Moon, Sun, Moon and retrograde Mercury are on the Eastern horizon. They receive gaze from Rahu (the head of the serpent), which gives shadowed mental and emotional body experiences and strong cravings. Desires intensify. Get clear on what your goals are and where to put your energy most effectively. Nourishment is a driving force in the coming cycle, but the ultimate goal is balance. Seek more balance with masculine and feminine, action and inaction, goals and relaxation. The next cycle brings new relationships and partnerships to the forefront. How are you preparing for more connection and creativity, more nourishment, love and harmony? Make the space for this now. Akshaya Tritiya Days after the new Moon, the most auspicious day of the year arrives, Akshaya Tritiya- when Sun and Moon are exalted simultaneously. It is said that only positive outcomes can emerge on this day, that there can be no harm. All actions will be fruitful and yield positive results. As the third tithi arrives (Tritiya) of the waxing phase, with exalted Sun and Moon, the power and energy will be palpable. Luck, success and powerful results occur when you align with the strength of this day. Akshaya Tritiya officially begins at 23:00 MDT on the 27th, once the Moon moves into the third tithi. This passage of the Moon will end as Moon shifts into the 4th tithi of the waxing cycle at 19:27 MDT on April 28th. Moon will be transiting Rohini nakshatra the majority of the time, a highly creative star- connected to manifestation and ruled by Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma and his wife Goddess Saraswati, are the ultimate united team of manifestation, since Lord Brahma created the universe from his navel. On this day, take a powerful action step towards your desires, dharma and purpose. Step forward with confidence and clarity! Vishnu, the god of preservation in the holy trinity of Vedic gods, rules over Akshaya Tritiya. This year, Parushuram Jayanti, the celebrated birth date of the 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, arrives on the 27th, just before Akshaya Tritiya begins. Parushuram's role is to destroy the ignorance of those in power positions and those misusing their authority. He removes sin and exterminates those leaders who are misaligned with power and right-action. Every week I offer two *free* dharma coaching sessions to action takers who are ready for deep life change. Is this you?! Send me a message to see if I have any openings: swatijrjyotish@gmail.com This Week's Intention: Find your balance point. The stillness within. Get embodied. Let your body be the resource for connecting and finding the calm within your storm. The Moon is waxing this week, becoming full on Sunday- coinciding with the Vedic fertility festival, Holi. This is a seed planting time. At the same time there is great turbulence and tilling of your inner soil. Find your ground and get embodied so that deeper roots can grow. Mercury moves to its debilitation sign this week, coercing the mind to a more inward state for the coming weeks. Money, communications, relationships, creativity and commerce will require your attention and re-evaluation. Monday, March 6th Moon in 9th tithi Navami Monday begins with powerful momentum and change as Ardra nakshatra arrives. Moon moves through this constellation, sparking the powerful forces of Rudra, the storm god. Notorious for swift, powerful action, Rudra brings guaranteed changes. What type of changes? This will depend on your relationship with your inner power and purpose. Ketu and Saturn continue to give their gaze to the Moon, which can make for painful and uncomfortable emotions and experiences. Contraction and grief, coupled with sudden change and loss. Where are you feeling the pressure? What are you releasing and letting go? Step into your powerful inner currents and go with the flow. Tuesday, March 7th Moon in 10th and 11th tithi Dashami Ekadashi Moon shifts from Rudra’s powerful domain to Aditi’s mid morning. Resources and support come from the Mother of All Goodness. She also brings unification and connection to a universality. Align with the oneness. Where are you disconnected from the whole? Your whole body, breath and intention? Use the disconnection as the source for reconnect. Are you disconnected from your First Chakra? Use this easy test to find out how embodied and connected you are to your First Chakra- and why it matters so much for your health and vitality. Watch My Short Video Now Wednesday, March 8th Moon in 11th and 12th tithi Ekadashi and Dvadasi Moon arrives in its own sign, Cancer just as Wednesday begins. Nourishment and equanimity arrives when Moon sits in its own still waters. However, Mars gives his gaze to the Moon and his debilitation sign, causing emotional body waves. Step into action, but move from your feeling level. Align with your emotional body wisdom and honor your needs. Find the soft landing within. Moon is in Pushya nakshatra today, bringing nourishment and abundance- through resources, guidance and support. Are you receiving the abundance of life? Where are you resisting, feeling the pinch? Thursday, March 9th Moon in 13th tithi Trayodasi Early morning, Moon shifts into Ashlesha nakshatra, the domain of the deceptive serpent, Sarpa, and Mercury, the mental body. There is a transformational quality in this portion of the sky, and often mistrust and misalignment as well. Snake energy shape shifts. What you see is not what you get. Where are you not feeling safe and supported? Who or what is keeping you feeling a lack of safety within? Where is this disconnection taking place in your body? Friday, March 10th Moon in 14th tithi Chaturdasi The changing quality of the Moon will be felt early morning as she leaps the gandanta (gap) between watery Cancer and fiery Leo, burning off excess emotion in the process. This is a delicate junction point that uproots and unties karmic knots- especially with the ancestors. As Moon arrives in Leo, it lands in the lap of Rahu. Both will dance in Magha nakshatra for the coming day, enlivening ancestral karmas, connections and insights. It’s time to let go. Time to step into your power and purpose. What is your emotional body telling you about this need? Mercury moves into Pisces today. As Mercury settles into its debilitation sign, Pisces, on March 10th, a mental body depression arrives. This impacts life path, purpose and a sense of progress. This depression with hopes, dreams and aspirations is impacted by the inner critic and past failures. Part of you doesn't trust your ability to succeed, so subconsciously there's a refusal to step forward. At the same time, this is powerful opportunity to look more closely at the mental thought patterns that are hindering your success, momentum and achievements. In order to unravel these unconscious parts of yourself, you will need extra support, guidance and resources. Read more about Mercury in Pisces Saturday, March 11th Moon in 15th tithi Purnima Creativity and fertility enlivens as Moon steps into Purvaphalguni nakshatra early morning.
